Wow kris, Mason is having a big nap this arvo too! yay :D
Have fun this weekend. Looking forward to Nikki setting another date for the Bbq. Am dying to meet Dylan :)
ETA: When Mason is unsettled, I give him 1ml of the Brauer Colic Relief, then he farts like mad and settles perfectly :)
-
Hi!
Danni - Oooh thanks - I'll have to head to the chemist and get a few concoctions to try out! He seems a lot more settled tonight but will be great to have on hand...at least dh is home now until tuesday to help me out at nights!
Caro - Hope Michael is well!
OK guys...kiss and make up! We're all tired and cranky from sleep deprivation at the moment - this should be a place for support and help...and just to chat and escape the chores for 5min! I hate to come on and see everyone getting niggly... Big hugs to both - you're hearts are in the right place!!! (p.s don't be cross with me for saying this...LOL!)
-
i agree kristie... please kiss and make up. we are all here for support
love you all and have a good night

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a good night's sleep.....well as good as can be with a newborn LOL. I've had a few hours so I'm not feeling too shabby at all. I am feeling a bit unwell in my tummy, esp. when I start to feed Nicky??????? My mum spent the day with me yesterday and told me this morning that she thinks that maybe I need to eat more. She's probably right, Andy is constantly at me to be eating. It's really weird, before I had Nicholas I was a massive foodie, I loved all sorts of food and looked forward to each and every meal! Now I just eat cos I know I have to, I don't really have any interest in food at all. I guess I'm just busy thinking about other things! Do you think that's normal?????
Nicholas is being devine (apart from deciding that he doesn't want to sleep! during the day he lies there happily, but at night he cries) I am so in love with him and just want to spend all day kissing him! His daddy is working this morning, but when he comes home he's taking us out for coffee (or something else for me!). I'm looking forward to it, I don't get out much ATM. I can't even go for a walk around the block with this bloody foot (can you tell I'm a bit over it now? LOL). Off to see the orthopaedic surgeon on Wednesday, hopefully he'll have good news for us  .
Okay, I'm with Kristie and Melissa, I don't want to upset or offend anyone, but lets just all be friends hey? I hate to come on here and see people fighting, it's awful. Like Kristie said, we're all cranky from being sleep deprived, so it's understandable that we're touchy. Both you guys have had a REALLY hard week, I really feel for both of you. I hope that this week is heaps better for you both.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone, hope all the bubbas are well!
Love Sez xoxo

Right, lets start again... am just going to let you know about my night... it was crap:( Olivia woke up at 345am... which i thought was great, extra sleep, then after guzzling 200mls of formula, decided not to sleep and was real grizzly. She went back top sleep around 10am...i was asleep, adam took her coz I was getting a little grumpy myself. Now she waking up again. Shes so snotty and grizzly and I hate giving her demazin because it makes her sleepy and i dont want to be giving it for that purpose, but it does help a bit with the cold. I wish she would get better!
I know we need the rain and cold, but bugger!!!
Take care,
love melissa

Hugs Melissa, I really hope Olivia gets better soon :)

Hello everyone,
Well I have been MIA for a while, but now I am all caught up.
I've had a difficult few days/week. Lily was becoming really difficult and I had no idea why. She was screaming all day and hardly sleeping at all. I was a mess and in tears almost all day, and was petrified I was getting post natal depression. DH was at his wits end too, having to work and look after Lil and I. When it came to him having to do 2 night shifts at work, I fell apart! So we went to the Dr. who suggested that I might not have enough milk for Lily and giving Lil a bit of a bottle, which I did and she slept for 5hrs! So after more tears from me, mourning not having enough milk and for unwittingly starving my daughter, we are now breast feeding and bottle feeding. I am looking at putting her solely on the bottle, because my boobs are still sore and she's starting to reject me anyway. She gets really frustrated when I put her on the boob and she doesn't latch well, probably because she's such a piggy and just wants the milk without having to do the work!! LOL.
I am sad to put her on the bottle on one hand, but on the other, bf has been such a tough thing for me to do, with my milk not coming in straight after her birth due to me being sick, then I had horrible blisters and sores from her not latching well, then blocked ducts, then oversupply due to the motilium I was on, to feeding her every hour...now this. It's just been one hassle after the other. I'm tired of worrying about feeding her- if I have enough, if she wants it, if she's on correctly. It's becoming too stressful for me. Though I keep putting off weaning her!
I stayed at mums for the past three nights while DH worked night shift and it has made such a difference. Dh has an arvo shift today, and we're back at home so we'll see how we go.
She is back to being a good bub now. She's sleeping usually 12pm-4/5pm then not until 8pm- 12/1am, then back to bed at 2am-5am, then 5am until 7/8am. She cat naps in between in the day time. And she is so happy now, no more crying unless she's hungry, tired or has a tummy pain. She's smiling and even tries to laugh and talk. It's so cute! She's a pleasure and I am so much less stressed out.
To those of you having trouble bf, I understand! And I take my hat off to those of you who are persevering despite your problems. It is so stressful to have a screaming baby at your breast and being unable to aettle them. Or having them on your breast all day. I was crying every time I put her on because I was dreading it. Now it is so much more pleasurable, because I am at ease with giving her a bottle if she needs it.
Ok going to go now, hope things are easier for those of you who need a break!
Kellie :)

Hi everyone,
Mimi is asleep so and DH is out at the local footy with Ella so thought I would take the opportunity to have a cup of tea and check out how everyone is doing.
Kaz - OMG it sounds exactly the same as me! Re the birth itself - was Patrick in the right position etc? I have been told that maybe because Mimi was posterior and I had to have the Keilland forceps and full rotation that nerve stuff can happen through the delivery itself. Initially I thought it was the epidural because it was my right leg that went numbest during the syntocinon but they have ruled that out now. When the physio came in to check on me in hospital, I couldn't raise my right leg off the bed - just felt like there was no strength left in it at all and I still take mis-steps on it too and it feels as though the leg is slightly dislocated or something?? I think I will go and see someone about it too because it's driving me mad. I want to get back into running ASAP and at the moment I can't even walk around the block without feeling like an invalid! Glad that you have got peace with yourself on the formula front. My friend who has a boy Ella's age couldn't breastfeed because of rheumatoid arthritis and the medication she was on and he is just a thriving little bundle of joy with no problems at all! So good for you babe xx
Kristie - glad that Louis is doing well with the new arrival. Thankfully I think I have broken Ella re the day sleep. I decided to put her down late morning and then again late arvo and I get about 40 minutes a time, which is better than the screaming and only half an hour in the middle of the day! So I will persevere with that for a while til she gets back her confidence with me at home again. Have a great weekend at the PIL and catch up Monday.
Melissa - I had to put Ella on Demazin early too with a cold - it's a bit freaky giving them stuff so young isn't it? But it does help them sleep. Have you tried a vaporiser in her room? I was told to try that too, which I did. Some women swear by them. It seemed to help but it created such condensation in the room I didn't use it again LOL. But might be worth a try. I also like to have the Vicks baby balsam handy (like vaporub but milder) and that's really nice on their chests to sleep. Re the party - it's really hard to have that first night off I think but sometimes it can be good to get it out of the way - you could always go home early if it gets too much? For me, it was nice to get out even for a couple of hours and relax with adults for a while, iykwim - conversation can get a bit blah when you are just cooing at a baby all day!
Christy - bummer re sore nipples. it's probably just your boobs adjusting though like you said - they are pretty clever really! hope that they don't get too sore for you. nothing worse. Beautiful photos by the way!!!
Danni - well done on the bf - good on you babe. sometimes it can take some perseverence and you've done such a great job.
Disgirl - wow re weight gain! you and Kristie certainly have good eaters! Ella was like that too - 350 each week for the first few weeks, whereas Mimi had only put on 180g in 5 days since discharge but hopefully will start to put on a bit more. the Health nurse said that they like them to put on between 150 and 210 a week so I figure she is still doing ok. she's such a dainty little thing compared with my bigger bruiser of a girl!
Sez - my tummy has been sore too. and not just the afterpain contractions with feeding, I think there might be something else wrong in there. I am going to call my OB monday as it's gone on long enough. your mum is probably right (aren't they nearly always??) re the food thing. I am the same as you though and not really interested in food ATM. We get so busy with things with the babies that sometimes you seriously forget to eat but we need to remember that to feed properly we need to, and keep the water levels up too, whichI am bad at. Good luck with your foot.
Mimi is great - I am getting to know all the little things that come with a post dater though - her skin is falling off at the moment so I am constantly rubbing her with sorbolene. Her neck control has really improved since birth which I am pleased about. She felt like such a newborn compared with Ella but she is really developing now so that's good. Feeding pretty well. Did 4 hourly through the night and has done 4.5 today so am hoping for another good night. Fingers crossed.
Not going to harp on but I hope that things calm down in here. it's an exhausting time and it's great to have this outlet to come into and feel safe and supported. Hugs to all and hope that you all have a great weekend and that all the bubs have some good sleeps!Take care of yourselves.
Gigi xx

Hey Kel,
Just missed your post when I posted my last one. you poor thing - what a stressful time you've had. I am soooo glad that things are looking up for you - please try not to give yourself a hard time re the bottle. it sounds like you have done everything you possibly can to try and BF and sometimes it's just not right for everybody. Glad that Lil seems to be taking to the bottle well anyway and getting a nice full belly. Are you able to express anything? If she is preferring the method of the bottle maybe you can still give her a little breastmilk that way? anyway babe, you are doing a great job under the circumstances and keep your chin up. Glad that Lily is sleeping better since then. Take care of yourself.
Gigi xx

hi again... feel like i am here alot!!!!
hey kel, youre doing good, i totally know how u feel in regards to the bottle. i agonised over it but once i did it olivia got bigger and slept and i became half normal again!
hey gig, i will go get the vapouriser but i enquired about the rub and the chemist didnt recommend it to newborns, but if u think its ok then i'll try! as for the partuy, i'm undecided!!!
caro, it is expensive, especially when things dont work. good luck
chat soon

Some of you are so good at personals. I'm finding it very difficult to find the time to respond to each of you at the moment, but I am following along. These early weeks are definately busy ones, it is quite demanding having a newborn in the house, isn't it?
We feel blessed with Matti, and I am totally in love! If you want to see some photos we've updated his blog. We've been very busy with visits to relatives and also with visitors here. We moved here only a few weeks before Matti was born, so there are a lot of friends who want to see our new house as well. We are now planning our trip to Australia in July!
Hope to be in a better position to post personals soon!
-
Hi all, Hope you are all doing ok. I wish I had time for personals but its so hard to get on. I just wanted to say to Caro that I hope she doesn't leave us as I enjoy reading her posts on how Michael is doing and feel that it would be a big loss to our group if she left.
On my side, Iggy is going well. I went to a course today n my husband came with me to mind Iggy. How sweet! I fed him during the breaks n apart from a spell of wind he was so good the whole day. So proud of my little boy. Have a good weekend guys!
-
Hi everybody!! So glad to read all your posts!
Hope its ok I am crashing in here cause all my girls are here and even tho I am a May buddy you guys dont mind do you?
So happy to see all my buddies names again - I was on my own for so long...!
I too am having BF probs...at the moment I am bf'ing Beau for half an hour then feeding him about 50ml EBM and then if he is still upset some formula - he is a big boy as everyone keeps telling us...but....how long does this go on? The expressing I mean? Its a bit of a marathon dont you think? 1 1/2 hours to feed and settle him? i am taking Motillium cause my milk has been slow to come in...I understand you going to the bottle kel...
Anyway - still sore from C/S and washing hair is kind of out of the question - lucky berets are in fashion he he
Anyway got to dash - promise will do more personals next time I love hearing everyone is having the same dramas as me!
Loads of Love (so used to signing off 'Labour Vibes'!!!)
-
Hi all,
Caro - good luck with Michael - I hope that your little man gets better post feeding re the pain you mentioned in your post.
Hey Mel - good luck with the vaporisor - I did what Caro mentioned with the door open and on the other side of the room etc - the instructions on it are pretty clear, but for some reason I think that our old mid-renovation house doesn't have the right ventilation for it! LOL - hence the condensation....but hope it helps you anyway with Olivia. Apart from leaving stained walls from condensation it helped Ella a lot. I didn't have any probs with the baby balsam - I just checked my Ella diary and she was older than Olivia at the time ( 10 weeks) and the container does say "from 3 months" but my doc said that as long as there was no broken skin or existing skin irritation it would be fine. it's nowhere near as harsh as normal vicks. With Mimi's post -date peeling skin I wouldn't use it on her at the moment either. Obviously totally up to you - would hate for you to use it and have it hurt her skin! And looking back Ella was older than Olivia.... hope she starts to feel better soon. See how you feel re the party - it's such a personal thing re when to have the first separation moment. whatever works for you is the right decision I reckon...
Deb - I didn't realise you were in Copenhagen! Wow - that's one place I would love to visit. I have a danish friend Anja who lives in Kolding - not sure if that's near you or in Copenhagen or not? - I think so....she was just out here visiting a couple of months ago but unfortunately not in time for my late lady's arrival.
Krysalyss - So good Iggy was well behaved during your course - don't you love it when they do that!
JenSam - sooo good to hear from you babe! You and I are both May baby interlopers but so glad you are here too. Congratulations on Beau Jac - sorry that you are having some BF troubles - it can be such a trial. Ella took me 1.5 hours a feed in the beginning too just on the breast but Mimi seems to be much more efficient somehow. Good luck with it anyway and great to hear from you.
Hope that everyone has a good night with good sleep involved somewhere along the way
Gig xx

Just a quick one from me again (sorry!!) ...
We're having a tough time with Jambin at the moment. We saw the paed on Thurs - he currently weighs 160g less than he did when he was born (at over 5wks old), which is a concern. And that, coupled with him fighting at the breast every feed is not really a good sign. The paed thinks it's either reflux, or low supply (and a very very hungry baby). At the moment, she's treating the hunger problem, and we'll wait and see if that works before looking at reflux treatments. So I've been prescribed Motilium, have been pumping multiple times a day, and we're topping-up each feed with either breastmilk or formula. I can usually express enough EBM for about 1 out of 3 top-ups - the rest are formula at this stage. I'm also booked into a Infant Feeding Day-Stay Clinic, and am in the process of contacting a lactation consultant. It's a very rough road at the moment, so I am hoping things improve. Jambin has definitely been more settled and happier in general with the extra feeds, so at least I'm not starving him anymore.
I promise I'll do some personals again soon ... promise!!
-
Hi girls, no time for personals again today - I am in awe of you girls that manage it most days!
Ben and I are doing great - he's settling a lot faster at night now - it used to be two hours for a feed and settling, now we're down to one hour - woohoo! He's back out to four hours between feeds too, so I'm hoping that he'll be early in dropping a feed - we have to hope! Imagine - a whole night's worth of uninterrupted sleep.....ahhhh! I shouldn't tease us all should I? :)
Jen, it's great to see you in here! How big was Beau when he was born? I think I missed that post.
Well ladies, I'm off to watch a wee bit of footy on the tele before Ben wakes up and demands another feed. We're off to his first live Swans game tomorrow, which should be interesting. I have a feeling that the facilities at the SCG will be rather lacking :(
Good night!
-
That's great that your feeds are taking less time DisGirl. In the early days, it took us 3-4 hours to feed/settle Jambin, although that used to include a few feeds during that time.
-
Hi girls
Have been MIA for a while, just been really busy.........Yes i am also in awe of you that are able to do personals. You guys have sure been busy.
Kaan and I are doing really well. Feeding every 3 or 4 hours. Wouldnt it be great to have one night of uninterrupted sleep!!!!! Well hopefully in a few months maybe (wishfull thinking). He has put on another 700 grams in 2 weeks and has grown another 3cm!! yay!!
BF has been pretty good, i seem to have alot of milk, so much that he tends to "over" drink and then ends up chucking some of it up, Oh well just more laundry i guess.
Hope everyone else is well, will do personals this week when im free.
Goodnite
-
OMG you girls are so good at personals and long posts...sorry i cant catch up!
I just need to say that Mason went 7 hours last night with just a 5 min breast feed in the middle! I cant believe it!
-
Morning everybody - hope you all had lovely weekends.
Cherie - sorry to hear about your feeding problems but it's great that he's more settled and happier since the hunger issue has been resolved. it's so horrible when you feel like you're starving them. hope it all improves for you.
Dis - woohoo on the shorter feeds! that's great. it's so good when they start to get more efficient at it and soon you end up both doing it like old pros - anywhere, anytime. how was the footy? DH very happy that even though the hawks/saints game was abysmal as far as entertainment went, the hawks had a good win. he has taught ella to put her arms in the air and say "yay hawks". tragic.
Sammy - sounds like you and Kaan are doing really well. Another good boy eater! LOL at the laundry comment. my house looks like a chinese laundry at the moment - I don't have a dryer ATM and so am using the ducted heating with clothes horses. lots of ironing for me this week....
Danni - that's amazing re Mason's big sleep! How unreal. let's hope for more of those!
Me - well, a fairly good weekend although Mimi has had a couple of her first really unsettled periods, the last two mornings. She is a little bit fussy at that early morning feed and once I have drained one side, she is hard to get motivated to finish the second side, so then she wakes up sooner screaming for more, and I don't get enough rest! Any suggestions on how to keep her eager for that final top up? I unwrap her and undo her wondersuit legs to keep her not too cosy and change her nappy in between but she just stares up at me wide awake and just keeps the nipple in her mouth not sucking. quite frustrating! Apart from that she is pretty good. Did the Million Paws Walk around Albert Park Lake yesterday. Boy, you forget how unfit you are after pg. I was totally exhausted yesterday - and Kaz, my leg was NOOOO good. Have to go and see someone this week for sure, because it's not right.
Anyway ladies, have a good day - for those in Melbourne, stay warm.....will try and check in later.

Baby sniffles
Hi there I am a bit new to all this but having a 4 month old now as well as a 3 and a bit year old both of who, have been way to snuffly the past few months so it was warranting action! I hate using pharmaceuticals so my sister in law put me onto a vapouriser? Great and i say beg borrow or hire one if you can! I plug it in in my wee bubs room and leave it on and it so helps clear her passages and after a while of far too sleepless nights with her it has helped no end! You dont need to put any oils in just the water steam is enough and I have actually been told by my maternal health nurse not to use oils cos it can be harsh on their nasal membranes. Just a thought and i hops osf some help!
-
gigi: its freezing here isnt it!! omg
I need to go shopping so we have to rug up for sure! Mason slept for 6 hours last night, and he just drank 185ml of EBM! that is way too much lol
-
Hey ya,
Dis - Beau was 4.355 kg and 54cm long when he was born - the early childhood centre midwife was here this morning and weighed him again (dont they always turn up just after a feed when you are putting them down?) and he was 4.3 so he has nearly back at birth weight 11 days later...
Cherie - I can only imagine how hard it is for you at the moment - the motillium seems to have worked for me - I dont have the rock hard boobs or anything but I can express enough most of the time to top up Beau's breast feeds - its still trying tho beacuse he always wants more - you must be really stressed trying to satisfy Jambin - good luck at the clinic let us know how it goes.
Danni I am in awe of the length of Mason's sleeps! And 185ml of EBM! Woa baby I thought Beau was gutsy! Is that your secret for his long naps?
Big sleeps for all our bubbas tonight!
xx
-
no that is NOT the secret! When he drinks heaps, he only sleeps 3 hours. I dont get it lol!
He just had both breasts AND a top up bottle of 80 ml of EBM. Im sure thats too much but he screams otherwise. hmph, he is gunna be HUGE!
Kristie: hope youre enjoying your weekend away!
Hope everyone else got some rest today
-
Hi girls,
Well I just may have time for personals today...
Cherie, I just want to say good on you for persevering with the bf. I have had trouble with it too and I just don't have the energy to keep on trying. I am in the process of putting Lily on the bottle now. You should be so proud of yourself. It's not easy for some of us is it?
Danni, your a lucky girl to have had such long periods of sllep between feeds from Mason! At the moment I'm getting 3-4 hours, though usually 3. Lily seems to be such a little piggy! LOL.
Gigi, the lactation consultant I saw told me that sometimes if you trace small circles on the back of bubs hand while they're feeding it can make them suckle better. It seemed to work for Lil when I tried it.... and also scratching her back through her clothes gently seems to work too. Don't know if they'll work with Mimi...
As for me and Lil, well we're going along pretty nicely. She's still alot more settled than she was. Though she's still not sleeping well. A friend of mine who is a midwife came over yesterday and said that she;s not getting enough sleep. I will try to get her into some sort of rhythm this week. I know at this age they are pretty lax with 'routines' as such but at least we can start some rituals. We don't have any yet due to the hard times we had over the past few weeks. Now she's happier, we can start trying to get a routine going. She seems to be getting a cold though and she's really snuffly. I got some saline and a nose cleaner thingy (can't think of the name now...). My girlfriend also said that we do have thrush. I thought we did, but when I asked the Dr last week she said no! Though I had just fed her...but still you'd think she'd know!!
Our breast feeds have gone down to four a day for 10 mins each side now, so we are slowly getting there. Though today I have been feeding her for longer because she's a bit sick and she sleeps when she's on the boob! I also think that breast milk might help her get better too for some reason! And she just seems so eager to have it today which has been kind of nice since she's been rejecting me for the past few days.
Ok gotta go I'm being beconed...
Kel :)
Caro, I have seen an LC. I saw one in hospital, and then saw her a few times when I got out of hospital. She helped with the attachment issues, and got Lil feeding bare- nippled again, but then we got thrush (I now realise...) which caused my nipples to get sore again, so I started using the shields again... I was also on motilium for three weeks. It seemed to work for me for those few weeks but then I got oversupply and Lil wouldn't latch on even if I expressed and then a week or so later my supply seemed to really drop off. Lily was crying all day and I was a complete mess, crying along with her, by the time I went to the Dr, we were so sleep deprived and Lily had a hoarse voice from crying so much (it took me almost 2 weeks to get to the Dr- I didn't realise what was wrong...).
So bf has just been such a huge ordeal for me that I think it is kind of a psycological thing for me. I think it will be better for us if I just get her onto the bottle. I know that bf is best for her and I do feel a bit guilty for piking out on her, but I was just such a mess and I don't want to worry about if she getting enough if we went back to exclusive bf. I think it just all started off on the wrong foot for us and now I find it stressful.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
-
caro: glad to hear Michael is more settled.
Kellie: You need to do whatever works for your bub and whatever keeps you happy and sane. As long as she is fed and healthy, thats all that matters
-
Hi everyone
Danni - it is absolutely freezing here today! I am out the back on the computer (obviously..) wearing a parka and beanie to stay warm. Thank goodness when I go back inside the heater will be on and toasty.....wow on another 6 hour sleep from Mason - what a little champion!
Caro - boy, you have had a good day. poor you with the pap smear - that's the last thing I would want right now but then I am only 2 weeks post but still! hopefully the pain will ease for your little man - I hope so. thanks re the baby oil tip - will definitely try that tomorrow. it seems to be getting better on her torso but her little hands and feet are still peeling off....not sure which sorbolene I am using but it's one of those really plain, unscented and everything.
Kel - thanks for the tips with the feeding - will give them a go. I hear you on routines. The thing that helped me get Ella onto one when she was this age was Feed/Play/Sleep. (except after the night feeds - then it's just feed/sleep). the examples the book gave for play was time on the floor on a kick rug, a walk, a bath - active cuddles with interaction etc. Seemed to really work for Ella and tired her out for sleep. The other bit of advice that I followed with her was "sleep promotes sleep" - as in, the more you encourage them to sleep, the better they will become at it. all sounds good in theory I know!!! Hope Lil can stay on top of the snuffles - they always seem to feed more when they are sick. I agree with Danni too - as long as bub is fed and healthy and you are in a good mental state, it's all good!
Anyway, all good here. Girls are in bed so here I am catching up. Looking forward to a big bowl of home made minestrone tonight. Still freezing....
have a great night all and I hope that we all get some sleep.
gigi xx

Hi All,
Sorry, no time for personals. Olivia has just been to the doctors after sleeping ALL day (that may sound good) but she slept through her bath, except for the projectile vomit, slept through her change, hardly damp nappy, had 60mls and projectile vomited that all over my mum, then a bit later some more. Then some greenish stuff (bile i think). Luckily she hasnt had a temp, just really sleepy. Last night she slep with us from 1130 til 430, drunk a little, slept til 9am, drunk a little and then had that feed at 2pm. All the time sleeping. I seriously cant believe she didnt wake up properly during the bath. And I know she is a chucky baby, but that was rediculous. And no wet nappy this arvo, so I rang the doctor and we got her checked out. She has some sort of virus, no infections which is good. But if she doesnt take on fluid, keeps vomiting and her nappies arent wet, well its a trip to the hospital. We got home and shes just had 70mls and straight back to sleep. Shes kept it down so far (its been an hour). I hate seeing her like this. Am hoping that she will be much better tomorrow.
Well, I'll keep you informed. Hi to everyone and big hugs....it is cold here in Melbourne so rug up.
Take care
Love melissa

Hi!
Just got home after a full on weekend away! Got a bit of sleep with MIL helping out a bit but I'm sooo tired. On Saturday night though Dylan went 6.45pm-2.15am without a feed!! I nearly died! Since then he's been going for at least 1 5 or 6 hour ish sleep per night! Woohoo! He's been smiling heaps but has the worst pimples the poor little man...
Had such a busy day - we got organised this morning, drove home, then straight away I had to head to my niece & nephews school for a visit with the kids and then home and straight away to do food shopping - aaahhhh! I'm ready for bed and the house looks like a bombs hit it from all our stuff being dumped...Ah the joys!
Sez - I can understand the food thing - I was like that with Louis - and sometimes wouldn't eat until lunchtime! This time's a bit different - I'm starving and feel like I really need to keep my energy levels up with good food...You need to eat well to keep your milk good and to keep yourself healthy!!!
Hope you had a good coffee out!
Melissa - Sorry you had a rotten night...big hugs! Hope you got a break! re: a vaporiser - I use it all the time when Louis is sick and it helps heaps! He always sleeps heaps better as it really clears his nose. I just put a bit of eucalyptus oil in it as well...
I didn't know about closing the bedrooom door with it - we always have with Louis - whoops! But in saying that he was alot older when we got it (prob nearly 12m old) so dont' know if that makes a difference...
OOh - I've used that baby balsam as well - thats really good! I reckon you could probably use it if you put a layer of vaseline down first and then put a bit on and then it should protect the skin a bit iykwim??
Poor little bubba - sorry to hear you've been to the dr's - hopefully she'll keep drinking and start getting better
Kellie - So sorry to hear you had a rough few weeks...sounds like the best thing for all to be offering the formula as well..it's definitley not worth losing your mind over - don't feel guilty! Sounds like she's going great with all the smiles and chatting to her mummy!
I hope Lily doesn't get sick!!
I do what Gigi does with routines roughly - feed, play, sleep except for nighttimes. Also around the 7pm feed I do a bath as well!
Caro - Big hugs! Hopefully the medication helps...wow - it certainly is costing a lot though - it will be worth it if it works though!!
OMG - what a day for you!!! I bet your glad it's all over though...
Yeah thanks - I'm going to head to the chemist tomorrow and get somethings to have on hand...He seems alot better though so I'm going to assume it was diet related...
Gigi - Thats great Ella is having some naptime again - you really need it for your sanity!
Sounds like Mimi is going really well as well!
Bugger at not having a dryer - I wouldn't cope without one at the moment! I just use it for towels and nappies but I have a load of those every 2nd day!
Glad your walk went well! Dylans not really having the second side at the moment so I can't offer you advice - LOL! Is she going ok times between feeds???
Hope you enjoy your minestrone - I bought ingredients to make some as well this week!
Deb - I can understand on the busyness! Wow at coming to Aus in July - what a big trip! Don't stress too much about personals - just do what you can! Sorry I haven't had a chance to look at your piccies just yet...
Krysalyss - I agree - I hope Caro doesn't go either!! Glad Iggy is well - what a great hubby to do that for you!
Jen - Yeah! Great to see you in here!! Woohoo! Sorry to hear your having bf dramas...I hope it all settles for you soon...
Cherie - Big hugs!!! I hope Jambin starts gaining weight for you soon - I'm sure he will!!!
Disgirl - Wow on going to the footy - hope it went well!! Glad the feedings getting a bit quicker. Dylans finally down to 6 feeds a day now! I think he'll probably stay like that for a little while though before sleeping through the night....
Sammy - Wow on his growth!! Thats fantastic! I know what you mean about the over feeding...although Dylan seems to be better at telling me when he's had enough now which is helpful!
Danni - Yeah on Masons big sleep!! Yep - it's freezing here today!! Thanks - yep - was good to get away but a little bit stressful at the same time iykwim?? Dylan did really well with the big car trip though which was great! Wow - he is a piggy la isn't he?? hehe. Sounds like he's thriving though!
Well - I've done my best and have no idea what I've written through blurry eyes - LOL! Catch up tomorrow!

G'day ladies :)
Sorry been so long, but Patrick's deciding to be grizzly. Lucky his nickname is "polar bear" so he's now a "grizzly bear".
Went to the MCHN today, he's put on weight but I have forgotten how much, he's now over 4kg though! And getting taller - another 2cm.
Danni et al - I may just get a motillium prescription - I was going to go to the health food store tomorrow for feenugeek (sp?) tablets ... but if it makes you smell, I really don't want to take it. Don't think the Maxalon has really done anything.
Must say, I am enjoying that cause he's mostly on formula, I got an entire night's sleep on Saturday night! DF took all the feeds overnight then, and I got to "rest" between about 10pm and 11am ... mind you, he only fed at 12:30 / 4:30 and 7:30.
Gigi -we were going to do the walk, but sleeping in sorta got rid of that crazy notion! Seems like we may have the same symptoms but different births - I had only TENs machine & pethadine (1 shot) for pain relief, no forceps and not posterior. Still feels weird, and it tires really quickly.
Anyhows, I'm off to do thankyou cards *rolls eyes* can't believe I haven't sent them out yet.
Be good all, keep your health and enjoy the sleep you get.

sorry to hear olivia is unwell....how heartbreaking :( Mason has been bringing up a lot of milk lately and it really upsets me. BUT his nappies are always so full after 3 hours so i guess he is still getting enough.
Kristie: glad you had a good time away. Dont worry about the bomb site. My house looks the same and I dont have any excuses! ;)
Kaz: my gf took maxalon and didnt notice a change. I am on my third day of motillium and I am only taking 2 tablets instead of 3 and I have noticed a huge change. I am still taking fenugreek capsules as well, but have not noticed a smell at all

hi All,
I am sitting here with little one on a pillow on my lap. He has just been fed. I love that quiet period when they are so content afterwards. I have had to totally give up chocolate though! He gets the worst wind. It is so upsetting for both of us. Having said that I hunted down milky bar (cocoa free) and he seems fine even if I eat a whole heap like I did last night. lol. Iggy is eating heaps now and has dropped his long sleep during the night. We are back to 3 hour feeds. Hopefully once he gets over this growth spurt we will have bit longer between again. Have you guys had much success bf'ing in public? I hate it still as my technique at home isnt the most modest n out n about it is more difficult. I totally understand everyone who is having bf'ing difficulties. I really underestimated the skill involved before I started. It has suddenly gotten easier for me in the last couple of days - less painful. So yay! Finally! We are going up to the sunshine coast this weekend to see friends and inlaws. I have finally stopped bleeding so maybe I can go swimming! Still havent DTD. Have any of you? I am very aprehensive as things still just dont feel right.
Anyway I better run. Hope you all have a great day. :)

Good morning!
I just lost what I posted! So quickly now as I'm outta time, mum is about to walk in the door..
Gigi - Kolding is not very close to Copenhagen, it's on the countryside, but then again, its a small country so maybe about 2 hours drive. If you decide to come, you better let us know!
Caro - we'll be in syd, adl and brisbane..my family is spread out these days. But I am originally from sydney. I don't want to think about all those flights we'll be doing in july..its going to be verrry interesting. We travelled with Al to Aus when he was 7 months, and it went fine..and Mattias is a lot easier to handle so far.
Big Hi to everyone else.'
ps Krysalyss - sounds blissful there.

krys: yes i have just started being able to breastfeed in public. You do get the knack of it and the art of covering nipples ;) I am comfortable with it now, although there are times of sheer embarassment when Mason is thrashing around and milk and nipples are going everywhere!
We have dtd, but I didnt have a vaginal birth.
Mason slept in 2 lots of 5 hour stints last night! yay

Hi Melissa - my motto is 'there are no perfect people, only perfect intentions'
It will blow over *hugs*

Goodmorning everyone (it is still morning right?!),
Well, Lil is sleeping so I have time to write!! Its her first propper sleep before 11ish for ages!
Danni, I know that all that matter is that she's happy (or should I say we are). But still I can't help but feel a little guilty. Although my girlfriend put it well the other day, saying 'Can you tell in the playground' -meaning can you tell who's been bf when they grow up? Which of course you can't. But I still have it in the back of my mind the bf is better.
Your lucky with Mason's sleeping. I'd be so happy if Lily would only wak once in the night. Last night I was up 4 times! Not all for feeds though, she's a bit restless at the moment at night, I think cause she's got the sniffles.
Melissa, I hope Olivia gets better soon. It must be hard having her so sick and being so little. I know I'm worried about Lil and she's just got the sniffles.
Kristie, I can't believe youre brave enough to go away with two bubs! I was worried enough going to mums for a few days, and she just lives five mins away form us! LOL!
I have begun the routine thing today and so far so good, mind you the day is young, hehehe! I hope I can get her into some sort of pattern. It would make life a bit easier.
My house is a bomb site too and I haven't been anywhere! All I want to do when Lil is sleeping is relax, so I do! Hehehe... hence the bomb site!
Kaz, that's one good thing about them being on the bottle huh- DH can help with feeds. I kicked my DH out of bed the other day to do a feed for the morning. After being up 4times, once for two hours, I needed extra sleep!
Don't worry about not having done your thankyous I still haven't sent mine either and Lily's 5 weeks old, LOL!
Caro, sorry to hear your having a hard time. I am feeling alot better these past few days, thanks. I can sympathise on the sobbing though. I was like that for a few days and was so worried I'd get PND because I was just so miserable and dreading hearing Lil cry more. I hope you have a good support network and are taking care of yourself. Remember that if you're not healthy bub is more likely to be miserable too. I know it's hard not to stress out though, especially when they are sick or crying at you and you can't fix it. ((({{{{BIG HUGS }}}}))) for you.
Krysalyss, no bf in public for me, I don't have a good technique and Lily thrashes around so no modesty! We do bottles in public.
My DH and I are yet to DTD. I have been thinking about it. I think my stitches are now gone but I am still a bit scared!
Ok gotta go my princess is awake.
Kel.

kellie: iykwim about feeling guilty. I had it stuck in my head that my baby will be breastfed and thats that. well as you know he had to have 2 bottles of formula last week and i was a mess.
But your friend is completely correct. No one will ever know.

Howdy folks. Only got time for a quick one. Hazel is sleeping but have lots to do.
We had a bit of an adventure today. It was Hazel's 4 week check at the health clinic and I got up at 6am when DH went to work to make sure I was ready in time and had time for a shower. Luckily I did because I realised that DH had taken the car seat with him to work and I wasn't able to get hold of him DOH!! So Bubs and I got the train! I had her in her new Bubba Moe sling, thinking there wouldn't be room for the pram on the train in peak hour (and I was right) and we had a pleasant walk too. So all was well that ended well. Her check went well, has put on a reasonable amount of weight and everyhting else a-ok. Talked about tweaking the BF and increasing my milk flow a bit- went and got some oats, good advice Caro- and will express a bit in the morning for the evening feed. Feeling pretty good and my nipple is fine now.
Promise will do personals soon, would have yesterday but computer misbehaving.
Lots of love and thoughts x x

Thanks Krysalyss... I hope it does blow over:)
