Poor Mason :( I hope the Gaviscon starts to work soon.
No worries Caro - there are definitely lots of similarities between Michael & Jambin, in particular the amount of stress they cause their mothers lol. Wouldn't it be great if bubbas came with an instruction book so that they could tell us what's wrong and how to fix it, so that we don't have to run around like chooks with our heads cut off trying everything under the sun and still having bubbas in pain.
-
Oh yes - I'll put in my order for one of those too please :)

Hi all...
We have been doing well. Lil has been pretty good and DH has been home, so everything has been so much easier with him here. He got up with her this morning at 6:30 and let me sleep. I stayed in bed until 9:00!! OMG I haven't 'slept' so long for weeks! It felt good especially since it is so cold and miserable here! And now Lily is asleep with DH so I even have some me time....oh the sweet feeling of it!!! LOL.
Lily is still not sleeping well in the day time, and last night refused to go to bed until 10:00... so I was buggered! But other than that we're good.
The bf is going ok, I'm not doing it really properly yet until I see the LC, but I am letting her have a suck and seeing what she does. She forgotten how to latch properly so I have to be careful I don't get grazes and sores again. I don't know how to get her to open her mouth wide enough...any ideas from you girls?! I have been pumping after every feed , even night ones, but only for 5mins each then! Lil seems to enjoy it except when I tyr to make her open her mouth then she gets frustrated and I have to stop or she chomps on me! Little monkey.
We went to see the MCHN the other day and Lil's now 5.25kg and has grown 1cm in a week! She's definately thriving hehehe!
Ok I jinxed myself....they're up! I should have known Lily would only have a cat nap, it is day time...
Sorry no personals...
Gotta go and tend to the princess, happy Saturday!
Kel.

I love weekends - DF gets up early for Patrick :)
So many posts! Not sure if I can manage personals today, but my thoughts and sleepy vibes to all.
On Monday, Patrick hit the 10lbs mark, and is now wearing his 00's too. Little piggy! He's now 56cm long too. Upped his formula to 150mls on Tuesday, and he's sucking it all down in about 15 mins flat. Good news is he's now taking the boob more (go figure?) and we're getting in about 4 feeds a day off the boob. Usually in bed, with him lying next to me :D
Kris - I hit the gym on Tuesday too, sorta regretting it, as it feels like every step I take my insides are falling out of my pelvic floor. I swear that my pelvic floor has been "worse" since Wednesday too. Grrrr.
Tummy time - its hard to work it in, isn't it - waiting until a decent amount of time has passed after feeds and the like. But at least when I put him on his tum, I get to do my abs too :D Patrick and I lift our heads together.
Oooh, and if anyone's interested, BabyCo have sales at the moment on their nursery manchester - the one I like (Zanzibar) is marked down from $209 to $138 for the quilt / pillowcase / sheets / blankie / valence / bumper set. Other styles available. Also cots are reduced if you're still in a cradle like us ...
Caro - I've bought the oats, just have to cook them. I just don't seem to be getting time to eat, what with cleaning, doing loads of washing, preparing bottles, and crashing out on the sofa / bed / chair ....
Speaking of washing, how's this for bad - someone gave us some lovely Pumpkin Patch clothing, and it took me a week to get around to washing them - lucky I tried them on Patrick first, as I had to return them to get the next size up, he's no longer in Newborn under their sizing. Which is a pity, as I have a lovely jacket in Newborn that's very warm. Might go buy the next size up for him ... hmmm.
Waiting for the mothers' group to start here, and then I'm also thinking of the CWA, if they let babies attend! It's just down the road from me ...
Danni *hugs* Kel *hugs* Cherie *hugs* Gigi *hugs* Anyone else *hugs*
Hugs to the world!
Anyhows, have a safe week all :D
-
good to hear from you kaz! I cant believe Pat is in 00s! Mason just got into 000 wondersuits but is definitely still wearing 0000 clothes still. I am very glad though, as he is getting a lot of wear out of these clothes and I can manage to let him wear everything atleast once before he grows out of them iykwim?
Mason put on 500gm this week! he is now 4900 :D

Hello again ladies,
We are having such a lovely day! DH took Lily out to the shops for a few hours, so I managed to get the house properly clean, not just tidy!! LOL. She has been such a good little munchkin today too, it is so much easier with two of you home!
Kaz, Hello!! Feels like ages since we've heard from you!
How much easier are things with DH home? My DH got up for Lily today too, ohhh how good it felt to be in bed in this chilly weather!
It sounds like Patrick is growing well! Lily is about the same size as him! She's already onto 150mls per bottle, though will usually only take about 130-40mls.
Caro, thanks for the suggestion, I have been trying to do that to encourage her but she's been lazy (too used to the bottle I think)! No I'm not engorged, I don't have enough of a supply yet to get engorged, I am only now having the feelings again that my bbs are filling a little and emptying a bit when I express or feed. I have been through the ABA website and read alot about how to position and attach, we're getting there! I bf Lily once today and she took to it like a pro! So I guess as you said one day at a time. She must have gotten a fair bit of milk because she left 80mls in her bottle when she usually leaves about 20mls, if any at all! I have also expressed about 40mls so far today (after pumping three times), pretty good considering three days ago I could only get about 30mls for a 24hr period. I feel proud, hehehe!
Sorry to hear you a had a horrible day. I guess we're all bound to have one every so often, although with two little ones I guess that likelyhood increases, LOL!
Maybe if the wedge works for Michael you can return the hammock...? Yay that Michael is putting on weight! Lily is too and I think she'll be into 00's in the next week or so!
Ok gotta go Lil's awake...
Kel.

Hi Girls,
Just a quick one as I am home alone today and tomorrow. Adams gone on a boys trip overnight and Olivia has been wonderfully good. Must like to play up when Daddy is around. Lets see how tonight goes!!! Basically I am doing nothing:) I did a 24 hour feed chart and Olivia had 11 feeds of all different amounts, but went through 6 bottles in total. I wish she would just drink it all at once, coz I worked out I am sitting there for around 6 hours feeding... lucky I'm not breast feeding, coz as my memory serves me, I was feeding for much longer!! Oh well, cant complain. Last night she slept from 1030pm til 330am, so I was extatic. Then she woke at 530 for another feed!!!lol
Anyway, all is good here, hope you are all doing well
Love Melissa

Hi all,
Matt has had a couple of days being a bit unsettled I'm guessing it might be a wonder week for him. He's down for a lunchtime sleep now, and if it goes right he will be down for a couple of hours.
He had a visit from the nurse last week and she thinks he's doing very well. He was 6kgs! Little chubby bub. He's holding his head well and he's quite strong at pushing his chest up off the floor while on his tummy. He smiles and babbles heaps too. I'm just waiting for him to say something pmsl. No seriously, he is quite a little champ and we adore him!
Great to hear things are well in most camps..
Sorry for those bubs with reflux. I hope the medicine can help settle things for them quickly.
-
Hi!
I've got heaps on at the moment and I'm getting so exhausted! The boys are really well. Dylans skins looking heaps better and he's being really good other than a bit unsettled last night with farty bums...
Danni - Poor little Mason. Yep - I can't wait to meet him on Monday! Will be a great day!
Wow on his weight gain as well - He won't be in 000's for long by the sounds of things!! Thats great!
Kel - Yeah on the sleep in and me time! It's amazing how good it can make you feel to have some quiet time to do as you please!! Wow - what a big girl - thats great!
re the feeding - I think you just brush her lips with your nipple and then kind of push her head in when her mouths open..hmmm not sure if that makes sense at all...hehehe.
Kaz - sounds like Patrick is doing really well!! Thats great that he's having 4 bfs as well!
Take it easy at the gym!!! I was really worried as the first thing we did in the class was skipping and I thought I might pee myself - LOL! But it was all good. Just keep practising your exercises! On my 3rd visit I'm now jogging so I promise it all gets easier...just work with your own fitness level and what your comfortable doing...
The bubbas grow so fast don't they!!! Dylans in a bonds growsuit tonight but I'm going to have to pack away his 000 ones...he's so grown out of it...I find each brand is sooo different. He was in 000 trackies and jacket today from DJ's and they had heaps of space. Although I find that while they fit him width wise he grows out of things length wise iykwim??
Caro - Yeah for Michael sleeping on his back!! I've got my bassinette propped right up on books one end. We also used to just have a folded towel under the mattress one end as well although I took it out as it left too much of a gap down the side...Yeah on the weight gain - thats great!!!
LOL at you guys not eating - thats the one thing in the day I make sure I do!!! I'm so cranky without food! hehehe.
Sorry to hear you had a rotten morning - you're right - one day at a time is all you can do - sometimes even an hour at a time when it's rotten - hehehe.
Melissa - Wow on 11 feeds!! You must be exhausted!!! Dylan has about 5-6 Bf's a day...I think 11 would do my head in! hehehe. Do you think she's snacking?? Hope the kids stay good while dh is away!! Geez - these boys have the life don't they?? My dh had a night out with the boys last night and got home at 10.30am this morning!!!
Deb - Wow at him reaching the 6kg mark!!! Dylan gets weighed next Thursday and I can't wait to see how he's growing! Sounds like you guys are going really well!
K - really must get to bed!
-
thanks for the reminder Kristie, I keep forgetting to prop the basinette matress up.
I must say that this gaviscon really works!! :D
-
Goodmorning girls,
How are you all this morning? Well, I hope!
Caro, can you prop the mattress up with Micheal on his tummy somehow, or can he sleep on the wedge on his tum with the monitor on top of that?? I hope it works out for you!
I would like to get a double pump, preferably buy one rather than rent one, but I will rent one if I have to. The main problem is that we may not be able to afford it. Maybe I can get just an electric one...
Melissa how did you do 11 feeds!! OMG....at least she slept well for you to rest too!
Deb, I wish Lily would talk to me sometimes too, LOL! Especially when you'r efeeding for hours a day...
Kris, That's great that Dylans skin is getting better. Lil's a fluffy bum too, she does some rippers!! I don't know where they come from! She's a constant source of amusement to me and my DH, LOL.
Gotta go the princess is calling...
Kellie.

Hi!
We got photos taken at Myer today - soooo cute!! I can't wait to pick them up! Dylans been super unsettled this afternoon..hopefully he sleeps ok. I'm sooo tired...
Caro - Bugger about the wedge...wow he's getting big!!
Danni - See you tomorrow!
Kel - Hope your having a great weekend!
Chat later...

Hi guys! Well last night DH and I went out on a date while Granny & Opa watched Iggy. It was so difficult and I had a cry in the car on the way to the movies. I had my mobile in my hand during the movies just in case. When we got home, he was asleep like an angel and my parents had watched big brother all night. The bottle of EBM that he was having when I left was all he had as he was asleep the whole rest of the time. Talk about an easy babysitting job! But it was good to know he was fine. Unfortunately, I ate too much choc at the movies and now Iggy has a bit of wind. I bought a new seat for my bike yesterday and will be trying it out later today. Hopefully will help work off the choc from yesterday (oh and the blue cheese and cake as well).
-
cant wait to see the pics kris! And I am about to start getting ready right now...Mason has been so unsettled the past 24 hours so I have to start now JIC he plays up again. Poor DH isnt coping. I hope he doesnt scream for you all today :(
I left DH on his first babysitting job the other night! I took him to his brothers house while my SIL and I went around the corner to the pokies for around 45 mins. he did so well, but i didnt! i raced home as soon as i could. But it was a good start for me.
krys: iggy sounds like a true angel! Although Mason never plays up for his grandparents either!
Last night we took a trip to the emergency room at the hospital. Mason had been screaming all arvo/evening for no reason. I took him there and as soon as we pulled up he stopped. And he sat there smiling at the nurse the whole time. I was so mad! So we gave him some panadol and he slept from 10:30pm to 5am!! That means he went 9 hours between feeds. I nearly died. He has nevver gone more than 5 hours. I think i got too much sleep now
-
Hi All,
Well last time I wrote, I must have jinxed myself. Olivia was great during the day and horrible at night. She slept from about 9pm til just before 2... which was great but i made the mistake of not going to bed til late, then she decided she would stay awake til about 6am:( I was very tired and emotional, especially with Adam not being there to help.
Then yesterday, Adam called on the way home from the country. He was feeling ill so they had called an ambulance. He was having pulpitations and his blood pressure was high. Nothing came about on the tests, thank goodness, except for consistantly high BP.
So he has to go and get an ultrasound of the heart and look at diet change. Geez I was scared. I guess it made me realise how much I need him, especially now.
Anyway...sounds like you lot are going well, Danni it must have been scary to take Mason to hospital, but its better to be safe than sorry. Good that he slept well.
Take care and Hi to all... sorry no personals, will try and catch up later
Love Melissa

Hi everyone,
Wow, Melissa and Danii, you guys have had eventful nights! I hope everything is ok now for both of you.
Krysalyss, it sounds like you have a little angel on your hands you lucky woman! I want to go on a date with my DH soon too.....I will have to arrange it!
I have to get my butt into gear and get exercising too, I'm heavier now than I was after I had Lil! EEEEKKK! I lost all of my baby weight straight away, but now because I'm not doing much other than tending to Lily and eating, I'm putting on weight. We'll go for a walk later.
Well, we have had an unsettled day and night. Lily screamed for ages non stop for the fisrt time in ages yesterday arvo and then was really grizzly for the rest of the night. I think walked for about 20km before she went to sleep! She was soo grumpy and I have no idea why...I guess that happens. Thankfully she went to bed at 7, woke at 11, slept again at 12 then didn't wake until 5:30. We fell asleep together after her bottle and woke up at 8:30! But she's still a bit grumpy today, maybe it's a growth spurt or something?...
Our bf efforts are going well, I've been putting her on the breast for each feed today as well as expressing after each feed, though she wouldn't attach twice. At least we're trying though. I've expressed 60ml today already, as well as her having fed. I emailed the aba lady too so we'll see where that gets us.
Lil still will not sleep properly in the daytime. I dont' know how to get her to stay asleep. She will only sleep 40mins or so (if that) even if I try to resettle her. I wrap her and have the same routine each time and she usually goes down quite easily, but just won't stay asleep. I don't think she's sleeping enough, although I guess she's happy most of the time....who knows!!!
Ok gotta go she's awake!

Hi!
Had a great day out today an Nikki's (BB friends) bbq! Louis had a ball and Dylan was really good as well! Was nice to get out of the house!
Danni - Was great to see you again and meet little Mason. He's gorgeous! Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight!
Kryslyss - Thats fantastic you had a night out!! Thats great Iggy was so good for his grandma!
Melissa - You poor thing - staying up all those hours must have been sooo draining. Geez - how scary for your dh - I hope everythings ok!! If diet changes help though thats great - at least it's like a little warning opposed to something really bad happening iykwim?? Crossing my fingers for you both!
Kellie - I'm exactly the same with weight - I lost a whole heap and now I'm slowly gaining it back on again..grrr! It's so hard sometimes though...
Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight - You're doing a fantastic job with the bf'ing - Good on you! Yep - probably just some sort of growth spurt...
Gotta go - I so need an early night tonight and I've still got to do dishes! Catch up tomorrow!
-
hey kristie, yes it was great seeing you and meeting Dylan. Louis is just gorgeous and Im so glad he gave me a cuddle :D
Caro: I use an avent isis manual pump. I find its much better than the double electric I had. I can pump around 150ml from each breast before a feed
-
I use the same and I can get about 80ml from both before a feed. I need to build up a supply if I plan to miss a feed.
-
Hi girls - im not in here much, dont really have much time for the computer at the moment
Danni - it was great to see you again yesterday, im so glad the feeding has worked for you!
Kristie - great to catch up as usual and have my little pal louis to play with! (or should i say shaddow??)
I really wanted o pop in here to say i had charlottes 8 week check today and she is a monster! Way bigger than her sister was, She has put on 1200g in 4 weeks! she is 4940g, 56.5cm long and head circ 37.3cm! My golly gosh, my milk obviously does teh job for her!
Got to get going, my little princess is needing a feed!
Oh, on th pump, i use the avent manual one too.
-
well done on the check up cindy! wtg charlotte :D
We had ours today too, and Mason is 5100grams or 11pound4oz ! i couldnt believe he has put on another 650grams in a fortnight. Yay for our boobies doing a good job :D
-
Wow guys - great job on the weight gains!! We have Dylans check up on Thursday - I'm so keen to see how much he's grown!!!
I use the avent isis as well! Haven't pumped much so couldn't give you figures...
-
Hi Girls,
Nice and quiet in here again, we must be very busy with bubs. I am keen too to find out how much Olivia weighs, shes only getting checked up once a month noww, so we have to wait til next week. Last time she was 4.2kgs, so still little compared to some of the other babies in here. What I really cant wait to do is measure her. We had her measured at 5 weeks and she was 52cms, and then the harness went on, so we cant pull her out straight til its off. I know shes grown heaps:)
Well got to cut this short... Olivias giving dh a hard time:) He sometimes doesnt know what to do with her when she doesnt stop crying...except give her to me, and today, I want some of my own time. I havent had a shower for 2 days... yuck!!!!! But have managed to cook and clean the house today!!!!!
Well take care, rug up Melbourne girls.
Love Melissa
-
yes freezing here!! we got mason's hands and feet bronze casted today and i cant wait tio pick them up in 4 weeks! it was only $135 with a gorgeous frame. very wrapped!
We are getting some professional photos done on sunday and I just bought a new top and cant wait to dress up :D
-
Hi all,
back in town but only til Sunday - off to noosa for 2 weeks and I can't wait. I really feel like I need the break and have DH's help for a while - today has been really trying. Ella is not well and just grizzled all day. it's really hard when you just feel like you are chasing your tail all day and tidying up/washing/changing nappies/feeding/cooking dinner/more tidying up etc - just no time to yourself, iykwim? haven't had a tear for a while but it got me today. sorry for the whinge. but sometimes DH just doesn't understand the tiredness.
on the upside, Mimi is really well and not giving me any trouble, apart from the night feeds. am going to bed early tonight as I am so tired. sorry no personals.
take care all - glad to hear all is well with most of you.....apart from the emergency rooms and ambulance trips!
gigi xx
-
Hi!
Dylans been super unsettled all arvo and had regular 3 hour feeds all day...must be his 8week growth spurt! Hopefully he sleeps ok. I've been bringing him into bed with me in the mornings for a sleep in - so nice having cuddles.
Melissa - you poor thing - hope you got to have a shower today!! It's always so exciting to see how the kids are growing!!
Danni - The bronze hands & feet sound cute!
Gigi - I can totally relate to the no time to yourself! As soon as I manage to get one baby to have a daytime sleep the other is up and vice versa - LOL! The by the end of the day you just want to go to sleep so you still end up with not time to yourself! At least we know it does get easier...I must say Louis has been a dream really...
Wow not long to go until your holiday - Thats great - you sound very excited! I'm very jealous!
K - off for a shower and an early night also!
-
gigi: thats why i leave the house! its much more depressing sitting here watching all the things that havent been done and looking at how tired im feeling. I just get up and leave. Im always at the shops or visiting someone. That is until DH is home on the weekends and I do a mad clean :p
Dont be too hard on yourself
I dont know how you girls with 2 or more bubs do it! i really struggle with just one.
But I am SO lucky that he has his sleeping pattern at night now (fingers crossed).
for 2 weeks now he has been going down between 7-9pm and sleeping for atleast 5 hours but normally 7. then he has a middle of the night feed, then goes 4 hours. So i am getting heaps of sleep but still not coping??
Mason has to get an ultrasound on his tummy today to check for muscular problems regarding his reflux. im sure everything will be ok though as the gaviscon is helping heaps
-
Oh I could cry - I just lost a big message that I just wrote. :throw_computer:
So here we go again...
Well we just got back from our 8 week check (can you believe 8 weeks already?!?). Iggy now weighs 6.1 kg. His length was 62 cm but that is the same as at 6 weeks so she said it was a bit inaccurate as he is a wiggly monkey so maybe a little bit more? He is pretty much over his cold now so we can probably put away the vaporiser for now. Sooo dreading his vaccinations next week. :doctor:
Danni - I so hear you on getting out of the house. And they are so well behaved out as well. Good luck for Mason's ultrasound today. Im sure everything will be fine. The bronze feet sound nice. Are you going to post a pic on your website once you get them?
Kristie - Can't wait to hear about Dylans checkup! Its nice now they are getting bigger and less fragile that you can have proper cuddles with them!
Gigi- Have a great time in Noosa. Hopefully the weather will be great for you.
Melissa - Not too long now for Olivia and her harness. Hope you enjoyed your shower. It makes you instantly feel 300x better doesnt it?
Kellie - Great news about the bf'ing. We have also had some dark bf'ing moments so can really appreciate how far you two have come. A big woo hoo for Lily as well. :happyforyou:
Caro - I read your other post re the reflux getting better. Fingers crossed you are over the line now. Its awful watching them in pain and not being able to do much about it. I'm sure Michael is so much happier now with it gone.
Cindy - Good to see you in here. Great news on Charlotte's weight gain!
OK girls I better keep on going. Hope you are all well.
-
Hi!
Just got back from Dylans 8w check up!
He weighs 5.314kg and is 58cm long!!! Wow!! So he's put on 712g in the last 4 weeks!
Danni - Glad the night sleeps are going well. Good luck today!
Krys - So annoying to lose a post! Wow what a big boy!!!
Chat later!
P.S - Do you like my new photo?? hehehe
-
ok masons reflux has disappeared! he hasnt spewed at all in over 2 days now so i decided to postpone the ultrasound. I am really tired today and i had finally got stuck into cleaning the house and didnt want to curse myself.
I left mason with my SIL for 2 hours today. That is a HUGE step for me. (even though they live in the next street :p)
He was an angel of course. And now we are home, he is wide awake again LOL
Kristie: yay on the weight gain! well done! and his pic is gorgeous...his smiles are just tops!
-
Caro, I’m using a Medela Lactina electric pump – on hire from the ABA. I pump about 10mins each side (sometimes more, sometimes less) after every feed, and sometimes more frequently if there is a long gap between feeds. I usually only get 20-30ml, although during the night and first thing in the morning I can sometimes get 50ml. I also have an Avent Isis manual pump, but I don’t find it very effective, and it hurts a lot more than the Medela Lactina.
Melissa – I know that feeling of not showering for 2 days lol. This arvo, I managed to put Jambin to sleep (after 4hrs of awake time), so then I hopped in a nice hot steaming bath … 10mins later he was crying again *sigh*
Danni – great to hear that there’s been such an improvement in Mason’s reflux. It’s so awful to see them in pain (not to mention the accompanying stress and lack of sleep for mum).
Kristie - ahhh – Dylan is just gorgeous. He looks all scrummy and snuggly! Gotta love those winter bubbas.
Krysalyss – great to hear that Iggy is gaining so much weight. He must be lovely and cuddly by now. I was dreading Jambin’s vaccinations too, but they ended up being OK. In fact, he cries much more when I breastfeed him than what he did after the vaccinations. My GP said her receptionist will think she vaccinated the arm of the chair by accident LOL, because most bubbas cry more than Jambin did.
Hugs to gigi, Melissa, Cindy, Kellie … and anyone else I missed (can’t scroll back any further lol).
Jambin now weighs 5.5kg. I’m really pleased that he’s gaining weight, but suffering from chubby baby envy. He was born weighing 4.86kgs, and while his height & head circumference have remained above the 98th percentile, he has only gained just over 600g in the 9 wks since he was born, so he’s long and skinny, like a sausage lol.
Breastfeeding is still horrendous … I spend all day coping with a baby who is fighting the breast (he screams, punches, scratches, pushes away). I hate it, Jambin hates it, and I end up sobbing most feeds. I have thought long and hard about this, and I am going to ask my lactation consultant tomorrow how to wean him from the boob. I will continue expressing milk for him, and maybe even keep up our nighttime feeds, as they’re the only ones he doesn’t refuse, but it’s all just getting a bit too much for me. It takes me about 1.5 hrs for a feed ‘cycle’, which includes a breastfeed, bottlefeed top-up, express, wash bottles. Times that by 8, and I’m spending 12 hrs a day just feeding him, and upset for most of that. At the end of the day, we currently don’t have either a happy mummy or a happy baby.
On a happier note, Jambin ‘talks’ so much now … it’s really cute! And … he slept for 9 hrs straight last night!!!!!!!!!! My poor boobs were rock hard by the time he finally woke up. And I was awake for 2 hrs before he woke, begging him to wake up and feed lol.
-
Hi Cherie - I so hear you on the bf'ing. I really thought it would be a breeze by now. You are doing so well to just keep at it. Yep Iggy is quite big but he is so tall that he is probably like Jambin - little sausage. Still doesnt have much chub.
I have considered going onto to EBM so will be watching with interest how you go. I am using the avant manual pump though and it is heavy going on the nipples.
Kristie - I do love little Dylans new pic. It goes very well with the ticker as well.
Iggy has been asleep all afternoon apart from when he woke up for his feed then it was straight back down. Very strange for him. But still I am getting some stuff done.
-
I found my Avent manual pump quite rough on my nipples too. The electric pump I hired from the ABA is much gentler (and much less effort ;) )
-
Yep, I loaned it at your suggestion Caro :)
I'm thinking of buying one, if I'm going to be pumping long term. Maybe the Medela Pump In Style (sold by ABA). They're expensive, but I guess that's what the baby bonus is for. And it would end up cheaper than buying formula in the long-run.
-
Hi everyone,
Well, it's been a while since I've read all of these posts....
Danni, that's great that Masons reflux is gone. Is the gaviscon that he has normal stuff or stuff for bubs? I think Lily has reflux now that we're back on the breast a bit. She screams after a feed -bf only. She's on thickened formula so i think that's why it's only when she has a bf.
Cherie, I hear you with the bf too. It's such a struggle. I'm pumping, bottle feeding, bf, preparing bottles, cleaning bottles and all of that too. It feels like that's all I do all day it gets to you doesn't it? I had a bit of a break down again yesterday, because she just won't sleep during the day for more than 40mins(if I'm lucky), no matter how tired she is. So now I feel like I can't do anything right...feeding, sleeping it's so frustrating. Though today she's been better with the sleeping.
You lucky woman with Jambin sleeping all night. Lily slept pretty well last night too, she woke at 1:30 then 5:30, mind you we were awake for the day then!! :(
Kristie, Dylans pic is very cute! ;) I'm going to try to change mine soon too.
Ok gonna go make dinner, hope you all have a lovely night!

Yeah .. $15/wk, which could really add up if I keep pumping for 12+ months. Also, if I purchased a pump, then I would have it for subsequent babies (we're planning on having lots).
The Mothers Direct website says that the Pump In Style is designed for long-term and frequent expressing, and on another forum that I'm on, there is a group of women who are exclusive pumpers (don't feed from the breast at all), and most of them use the Pump In Style. As far as I know, the Lactina isn't for sale, at least not from Mother's Direct, where I get a 10% discount because I'm an ABA subscriber.

hey kel: Mason is on gaviscon for infants. Its just a powder in a sachet form that you either mixed with boiled water, or you can put it straight into a bottle of EBM (i alternate between the two)
I had a double electric breast pump but found the avent isis to be more comfortable and quicker to express. Isnt it funny how everyone is different?
I even took out the padded insert and its now softer without it!
Kel: Mason doesnt sleep longer than 20 minutes during the day either, but he is sleeping very well at night so i cant complain too much.
Very excited about tomorrow. Mason is going to visit Tinlids casting agency as they want to represent him for catalogues and tv work. Im so proud! then we are visit Tan from the may buddies thread :D

Hi!
Not much from me tonight...
Caro - Thanks!
Danni - Thanks! Thats great news - hopefully the medication keeps it under control! Yeah on having a couple of hours on your own!
Have fun at tinlids tomorrow! Thats great - hopefully he'll get some work...I'm going to join Dylan but not until he's 6 months + old as there's not usually a lot of work for real little ones (not that we've had anything for Louis since his target catalogue)
Cherie - Thanks! LOL at looking like a sausage! Thats great that he's gaining weight now though! Wow at 9 hours sleep - thats fantastic...re: bfeeding - you just need to do what's right for you...if it's that tough I wouldn't say it's worth the stress...Big hugs! In saying that though it does get easier and easier - especially as they start dropping feeds around 5-6 months...
Kel - Thanks! Big hugs - I know it's hard sometimes with the feeding/sleeping etc but I promise your doing everything right. I went through all of this with Louis and was really worried but he just seemed to grow out of it...
Krys - Thanks! Yeah on the big sleeps - hopefully he sleeps well for you tonight as well!
I feel for all you guys pumping away...it certainly makes feeding a drawn out process...I'm sure it will all get easier soon! I know it's hard sometimes but remember these bubbas will get bigger and it will all be a distant memory - hehehe. (Until you have another one anyway!!!)
Chat tomorrow! Sweet dreams to you all!

Good Morning,
I actually got a reasonably good night sleep last night... Olivia slept from 1030pm til 230am, fed, slept from 3am woke briefly but settled til 530am and is now asleep... I will be going back to bed as DH just left for work and its cold, but I thought I would pop in seeing i have free hands:)
Kristie, Dylan is just georgeous:)
To all those who are still b/fing, well done, you're really doing well despite the issues you are having. Cherie good luck on weaning him off if thats what you choose to do. I remember doing that (actually it wasnt weaning but stopping after mastitis and attatchment issues). It hurt a little as my bbs were full, but after a few days it settled. I still have a little milk after 6 weeks of not b/fing....so Adam told me after dtd!!!
Danni, great news on the reflux. I didnt realise it could come and go that quickly, but you must be relieved.
Hey Kel, isnt it hard when the are awake all day... nothing gets done, but I guess at least you get a good night sleep too!! I'm sorry to hear that Lily is screaming after a b/f, sounds like reflux to me if shes doing ok on the thickened formula, but I'm no expert. Good Luck.
Krysalyss-wow on Iggys weight gain. Would be lovely to have a big cuddly baby- small cuddly babies are good too!!!! (Olivias small, lol)
Hi Caro, sounds like Michaels doing ok. Hope you are well:)
MMM, I think I did personals for everyone on this page. Hi to Deb and everyone else I have missed....sorry bad memory!
We have our 5 week ultrasound today at 3pm, so am very excited/apprehensive. Hopefully we get an idea if the harness has to stay or go. Think I would be better prepared if I found out today that it needs to stay on as opposed to next week at the specialist review coz Adam wont be coming. Hes having an echocardiogram at the same time....to make sure his heart is ok after last weekends scare...
Well, am off this time, dont want to waste precious minutes being awake, when I should be sleeping:)
Love to you all and kisses to bubs,
Melissa
