Babies Born August 1st - 15th 2008 #3

No-one even delivers to our place LOL! Except for our local pizza joint, and it costs us nearly $50 for 2 large pizza's garlic bread and a 1.25L soft drink cause they actually charge for delivery on top (and they're only like an 8 minute drive away!)

We don't order out all that often, but sometimes we'll go get chinese takeaway - 6 dishes and 2 large fried rice sets us back about $65, but it lasts us lunch and dinner! We haven't done that for ages, and we've only eaten out twice in the past 3 months and one of those times was fathers day!

Squidipa - 10cm to date here growth in length, but we didn't meaure today, and we are in 0000 ad a few of the smaller 000

I only pick up take away if we get it!

So, all in all had a reasonable day with Seven. Tried very hard to get her to go 2 hours in between feeds...and only failed twice, so thats good! Its easier now that she is 'kind of' sucking on a dummy.

The nighttime routine hasn't gone exactly as I had hoped tonight. We bathed, massaged and then went to bed for a feed. I was hoping she would do what she did last night. She fed well, but then started crying so I had to get up and rock her. She is now in her bouncer being bounced rather roughly - but thats the only way she will have it. She is not 100% settled though so we shall see what tonight brings. Im not holding out hope for a good one though.

Also, DF is ****ting me AGAIN!
Friday night is the night he goes to a mates shed, has a few drinks, catches up with the guys etc. I don't mind him going, never have, it doesn't bother me. He's got to have catch up time with his friends too!
But, why is it, that when he has worked all day and has to work the next day, he is 'too tired' to be able to help me with Seven, yet he worked all day today, and has to work tomorrow, but he is not too tired to stay up until midnight and hang out with his mates? He told me he would be home a couple of hours ago. So, if he gets home and I need help with Seven, I know exactly what he will say "I have to work in the morning." I want to send him an angry text message but I don't know what that will accomplish.
So, it looks like back to square one for me. Why is this not easier?

:hug: :hug: Kell, I don't really know what to say except that really sucks... Is your DH a reading type? Maybe there is a book out there that says everything we need from our partners LOL I found Shel an article from here yesterday, its for dads but she read it anyway, and I printed off one that says what she needs from me, and I think it'll help working out what we need to do for each other (though I think I give her everything she needs, I didn't want her to feellike I was saying "see, this is what you have to do" without giving her something to say back IYKWIM). Anyway I'll hunt it down and link it if so you can read if you're interested...

After I posted yesterday she slept for 45 minutes... and then didn't sleep until her EBM. Fell asleep at 8pm, and woke at 3.30am. I keep telling her babies need more sleep than that but she won't have a bar of it :rolleyes: Stubborn thing. Went all cute when Shel got home too... and Shel was saying "but shes so cute, I thought you said she was crying and sooky all day" :rolleyes: Hmmm, I was about to say shes a mummys girl, but thats a bit confusing... well she's Shel's girl I can tell that already. I might need to have another one ;) try for a boy lol so I can have a mummas boy :p
Dunno how shes going to go today... she slept for an hour after her morning feed, and is playing quietly right now with her flashing ladybeetle (it cracks her up lol). *fingers crossed* shes not a cranky bum today...

We don't get delivery either... well the only places in Beerwah that deliver are pizza places and I hate pizza. Yes I know, shock horror, but I can't stand it BLEH! Not that we're all that far away to go anyway, theoretically if I wasn't so lazy I could get off my butt and walk down to get it. Might not be steaming hot when we get home but I could probably do it. Nah, well anyway we don't buy much takeaway. I'm allergic to MSG so most chinese places are out (even when they say no ADDED msg, most of the sauces and spices they use are loaded with it...) and the fish and chips here are dodgey as. That leaves only Subway, which burns a hole in our pocket so we don't get it that often. Hmmm, we do go out on a Monday and have lunch somewhere in Caboolture usually, thats our takeaway.
I still only lost 2kg this last month. Dunno... maybe I should weigh myself when my boobs are EMPTY :rofl:

Wow what a busy day yesterday! Beth had her shots in the morning, went for coffee with the Mothers' Group girls in the afternoon, a friend came over, the Bear cooked dinner, I drove my friend home, came home fed Beth and then it was nearly midnight!
Our sleep through streak is over :crying: Beth woke at 4.20 on Thursday and 3.30 last night, but it was just a quick dummy replacement and she went back to sleep thankfully!
Sash - wow he is a big boy!
Leash - what a bummer about your teeth! That's horrible. It's so cute when they fall asleep on the playmat - like they just wore themselves out! LOL
Kel & Vic, saw the photos of your girls on FB - so cute. Great blanket Vic! And it sounds like things are on the improve with Seven Kel, which is great news.
Might be good news for you too Mountain Mummy - the Bear's uncle has invited us to come up to the Blue Mountains for the night so we might be able to meet you tomorrow.... I'll pm you our numbers if you want to get in touch.

Good Morning... I think! LOL!

We had an early wake too, 1.48am for a dummy (forgot to put the breast pads in after her late feed :wall: and 4.20am for an extremely wet/pooey nappy, required full change of clothes and sheets (we hadn't ventured into the cot yet so that was lucky!!)!! Then she woke at 6.20 fo an actual feed.

OMG Nakita was sooooo upset at 4.20, screaming blue murder, it was terrible poor little darling, just had to push through and get her cleaned up and resettled, I ended up sitting cuddling her until about 5am, when she finally had relaxed into a good sleep again, I was getting little whimpers etc for quite a while as she settled.

But all happy days now, rocking away in her swing. Going to be a stinker here today - 37, not looking forward to it... at all!!!

:hug: Pixie for the early wake ups, maybe it's a Wonder Week!! That is our reasoning at mothers group at least it is our way of maintaining our sanity!!

Oh yeah and the blanket is a Pink Hut Blanket, there are a couple of places you can get them online but they are cheaper if you can find them in a store! My was from a local baby store. I have an absolutely adorable blanket to put in her cot, will have to do it just for some photos at the moment as it will be too warm for now - 100% merino wool!

Big hugs Kell.. grrr. I would get peevy at that as well.

Yay Leasha don't forget a piccy which she is asleep ont he playmet, got a ocuple of Nakita and they are just soo cute!

yeah that sounds like an alright deal hey :) i LOVE Chinese but last time i ate it was just a year ago for my 1st wedding anniversary and it made me crook, there must have been to much floured foods on my plate i would have been just fallen preggers to and it did not agree with me at all i got excessive nausia due to wind.

:hug: not that makes ya feel much better but :hug: yeah if hubbie tries something like that witch it normally si storm related that keeps him up anything weather like. I say DONT YOU DARE USE THE EXCUSE OF YOUR TIERED!!! and he wouldn't dare after i say that haha.

Just like you i have been so flat out with josh and he seem to find minimum 3 hours up to 8 hours a day to spend time doing weather related stuff online . Like you i don't want to say ya cant but keep it in check and ya do have a family IYKWIM. Today he has gone to a storm/wethor convention thing where they boast about the best storm and show of footage. He left very early wont be back till after 6 i expect maybe later who knows he will tell me tho if he is going to be late tho OR ELSE!!! I am one of these ppl whom always feels second to something in our marragie i know he loves me and cares for me but i am always second on the list when weather is always here. Even in diff country's. Honestly i would have ratherd him stay home do a feed witch i did ask last night but weathor took over. And maybe l,et em sleep. but dont want to stand in the way of his life long passion hey i cant compete with it. I dont want to be controlling either.

MM- oh my gosh chinese food is so expensive and I find that the ones here in Caboolture like to put heaps of onion or a vege that is cheap at the time in the mongolian lamb or beef and you get very little beef or lamb

Vic..... what do you store your breast milk in in the freezer? and if using bottles do you put teet upside down under cap in bottle to freeze ready for use? also this question is for ANYONE ELSE with info. Josh hates the avent teats grr so i got him the purr bottles (may have to buy more might look at ebay) and he like the teats the avent ones he cant get his mouth around right and sucks air.

Vic - when that happens here, with any of the kids (spew is especially bad in the wee hours of the morning!) I just get whichever child cleaned up and usually end up taking them back to bed with me!! LOL!

Leash - Khaemon was the same, a real PITA for me but as soon as daddy got home, all cute and smiles (he still does it!) and DP says how could I be angry with him?? :) Veygas doesn't want a bar of daddy atm, he practically cries as soon as DP picks him up!! REAL mummy's boy!!

when i was 16 lost my nephew to the system He was a pale red head tight curled Irish looking stocky boy with beautiful big brown eyes and an adorable aboriginal nose. A real delight, i was too young to do anything about it, When i was 19 my sisters daughter was kidnapped by the father and i never saw her again she was the most amazing beautiful blond haired blue eyes cheeky cute little thing with pale skin.

In june /july last year my eldest sister whom lost a son when i was 16 her daughter was put into the system as she was neglecting her care. I am very happy the system got involved as my sister i love her to bits is unfortunately a drug user and a prostitute to support her habit and i know that my niece is well cared for now.

last year i flew to Perth, i make an application to welfare to look after my niece my husband also flew over and made applications too. But being the father who i dont mind was making efforts of change and keeping all visitations up i supported his claim first for her. Me and hubbie had no intention to be sneaky or sly we just wanted whats best for her and be part of her life. We did not want to step on the parents toes.

well now it seems they both may have majorly screwed it up. so after the long winded answer YES no matter what, she is family, she always will be loved by us, she is an extraordinary strong willed Born an addict and no longer is Amazing little girl :) she is a vibrant little framed cute as a button identical to her mom, PRINCESS!! We have every intention if opportunity comes to adopt her or foster her no matter how many kids we have we WILL make it work. She will be loved and in the right family here. I WILL NOT let her get away from me like the other two children.

Squidipa - I have had a thought....

You have been expressing quite a bit of milk, a plentiful supply.You have a lot of foremilk, in fact too much.. By expressing some off before giving Joshie the boob, would mean he gets more of the hindmilk - the really fatty milk and he may gain better.
So maybe you can for an experiment when expressing see how long before the milk changes and that will give you an indication as to ..
A..how long its taking him to get to the hindmilk and how long he is having the hindmilk for and
B.. in the expressed bottle of milk you'll be able to see how much foremilk there actually is.

So express maybe half, give Joshie the boob so he can drain it and get all that fatty hind milk, then give him the expressed fore milk to fill him up! Then if he doesn't finish the fore milk he has got the fatty milk first IYKWIM! Just food for thought!

I haven't had enough to freeze yet :( but you can get special bags and containers for EBM have a look on EBAY

Squidipa - Kye was 54.5cm at birth so he has gained 10.5cm in 10 weeks :lol:... looking at his book in 23 days (since 1-10-08) he'd gone from 59.5cm to 65cm, hell of a growth spurt!! hehe

MM - Yep could say DH is tall hehe He is 198 cm I think from memory and I'm about 168cm I think?

Kel - had to laugh when you said future sports star :lol: When DH was younger he was in a cpl of Nth QLD sport teams so maybe Kye might do the same.... lmfao
