Leash - yeah from what I have read, you have to position her chin towards the direction of the mass so she can drain it properly, hot showers and massage works well also (so i've read!!)

Squidipa - we are selling for a couple of reasons, 1. the house is OLD and I'd like a new house instead of one that looks like crap all the time, 2. if we sell up then I can be a stay at home mum because we will be paying around 350 a week in rent as opposed to 500 a week in mortgage repayments, 3. the house isn't big enough for three kids. But this won't happen till the next bub comes along. Until then I'll keep going back to work (I start back on the 3rd Nov.)

have to talk to the day care again today - have to get DS in for another day at a different day care cos the one he goes to doesn't have an extra day. Decided to put both kids in for the whole three days a week each, cos the IL's and my mum can't agree on what days they want the kids, if they want both the kids, if they only want one day a fortnight - its doing my head in!!! So me and DH just said ***k it... it'll be daycare and daycare only... ***k the cost...

Oh and Squidipa - I have no idea bout weight gain and all that stuff.. sorry.. but I hope someone comes up with a solution soon..

I hear ya chicky!! Unfortunately, convincing DP is getting harder - he was swaying between yes and no for a while, but lately, everything seems to start with "but since he's our last ..." I said to him the other day "you say that now" and he replied "and I'll always say it" ... do you think threatening to leave will make him change his mind??? ;) lol!

Leash honey, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain :hug: I have no idea how to make it better ... perhaps as you suggested, changing they way you hold Jazz to feed might ease the discomfort there ...

Squidipa - chicken pox blister really quickly - my 3 (before Veygas was born) and DP all had them about 2 years ago and DD and DP were the worst with fevers, pain AND the itching ... it was a freakin mad house here! However, DD has always had red spots on her upper arms and thighs, ever since she was born. She's 4.5 and still has it, it's more like a skin condition than anything else, but no dr can tell me what!!! :dunno:

Question for all ... Veygas is 100% BF, but for the last 2 nights, has slept 12-13 hours straight ... should I be worried???? I haven't exactly slept the best cause I've been going in and checking on him and expecting him to wake for a feed ...

ETA: Squidipa, I don't know why the weight loss either, but hopefully the new BF-ing method you have will see some gains! :hug:

mm, I worked with some kids who had like little red dots and red/purple rashes on their upper arms and thighs... It was related to a sensitivity to salicylates, be it oral or in bath stuff. Generally they only had rashes, and sometimes respiratory issues like being a bit wheezy. Dunno if drs have thought of that?

Hey Leash - that sounds sooooooooooooooo like my DD ... the drs have said she has asthma (she gets wheezy every year just before winter and is on and off until summer) Of course they have on record that I was a teen asthmatic. Poor DD - she is also lactose intolerant (does this have any relation to the salicylate sensitivity??)

Try google image, they might have a pic of the rashes. It's very characteristic, especially if its purpley/red.
Oh, and most of the kids with salicylate sensitivity also had lactose and/or gluten intolerances too. I don't think its directly related but if you have a sensitivity to something like salicylates I think they say you're more likely to have other sensitivities as well IYKWIM.

I've just been reading some stuff, and alot of the foods that are in the high/very high categories are foods she has always complained about not liking!! I feel stupid now for not listening to her (like I did with milk/cheese/dairy foods) The lactose intolerance was discovered when she was about 12 months old (when she started to wean from BF-ing) we ended up putting her onto lactose free formula, then onto rice milk. now she has soy milk.

Might try and find a dr (or perhaps a natropath) to see if we can fix this, or at least design a diet for her!

As for pots well he has seen a specialist and he was diagnosed with infected skin folicals so its like his arms and legs have tiny pimples on them. he has had this since birth also. the 7 year old also gets them they dont bother him tho but these otehr spots look different but i have been asured they are not chicken pox strange as i am Getting them too.

Squiddy not sure about the 7 days no poo. I have heard that newborns eventually get to the stage where they don't poo so much, however have yet to experience this myself! if DD hasn't actually pooed in her nappy when we change it it's a red letter day round here!
MM, squiddy etc good on you for wanting to ttc so soon! Not for me though.... not that there was anything bad about it, I just kind of feel like I'm not finished processing the whole experience yet. And I don't want to create a situation I can't cope with ie. two kids might be so much harder than one. I feel like I'm doing well with Beth, I kind of don't want to ruin it if that makes any sense. The Bear is keen though!

Morning All,

Sorry I haven't been around much, just too darned tired to do anything.
Was up with Seven until 2.15am this morning, don't know what to do about getting her to sleep at night! Its becoming ridiculous!
Her reflux is settling and she doesn't really scream at night anymore.
I am trying to keep her awake more during the day, hoping to 'tire her out' but there is only so much stimulation you can give an 8 week old baby before they totally lose the plot!
Anyhoo, lots going on here, I think Im a tad stressed, Wedding, housekeeping, what to do about immunisations, lack of sleep etc etc.
So sorry this is a 'me' post! I will try and get back soon and be a little more friendly!

I honestly don't know what to suggest baths and massage that about it sorry i have no real tips is it something your eating? change in diet maybe?? i dunno sorry sweet but i really hope you get some well needed rest and sleep!

Squidpea ~ Congratulations on the Poop! I know Seven only goes about every 4 days and by then she is a real squirmy, grunty girl! She always feels better after a poop though!

Squidipa - Veygas is awake for maybe 1.5 hrs in the morning and about 2 hours in the arvo ... has very wet nappies, power feeds in the mornings ... has just got over a rattly chest ... I can't explain why he has been sleeping so long at night, but it sure is hell on my b00bs!!!

Squidipa- yay for the pooey! I hope his weigh in goes well for you, I was going to go get Allegra weighed tomorrow but the nice foxtel people are coming to install foxtel and rot our brains.... DF doesn't know so ssshhhh everyone it's a surprise he's been bugging me for ages to get it

MM- I wouldn't worry about him sleeping so long at night as long as he is getting good feeds in oh and I agree with Leash don't go to rocky too hot and nothing up there Stanthorpe is soooo much nicer.

CM4E- Allegra went through a stage where she didn't want to sleep I really didn't want to put her down and leave her as she stressed too much have you tried putting the top that you wore for the day on her mattress where she sleeps? They can smell us and it can relax them I hope she starts sleeping for you

The pixie- I LOVE deals direct they are so cheap and have some awsome stuff

Mel- I'm cracking at DF at the moment about our house being to little and old but we can't afford to move it would be cheaper to renovate I can't believe how much of a cut the stupid realestate agents get!

Ladies ladies ladies we are talking about TTC again my gosh! I am terrified of falling pregnant again I'm on the mini pill and it says combined with BF there is still a chance of pregnancy so we are being very VERY careful.

We managed to get a really cute smile on camera (it's in my ticker) AND it's back to the doctors today DF's arm is starting to play up I really hope he doesn't have a fracture, I said to him just because we now have income protection for you doesn't mean you HAVE to use it :lol:

Leasha ~ Seven doesn't actually like her swing! Ive tried it countless times, but because it lays back a bit too far for her I think that may be the reason. She prefers her Baby Bjorn bouncer. I can sit it right up for her and she loves it.
Occasionally she will fall asleep in that, sometimes during feeding, and most often when we have her in the 'neck nuzzle' hold. I have tried all these things at night to no avail. I think Seven thinks its wake up time.

Kel ~ I have a 'nighttime' top that I wear every night for bed. It smells like me and Seven and I have tried giving her that top without me in it. Nope! Not good enough! LOL And yes, that is an adorable smiley pic you have there! I got a cute one of Seven this morning too! I might have to put it in my Gallery!

Squidpea ~ Glad Josiah likes his swing! Would make things easier! I wanted to go for a drive the other night when Seven was really playing up but DF wouldn't let me go at that time of night. He says we can't 'give in' to Seven etc etc. That upsets me. When I said walking I meant holding her and walking around the house. Putting her in the pram doesn't really work at night!


I have had her awake for 2hrs now and shes not getting too grumpy at me. I might try and entertain her a bit longer today and try and limit her day sleeps and see if that helps. I didn't really want to do that but I am at the stage where I will do anything to help us all get to sleep at a reasonable hour at night!

oh and i heard that BF bubs can go up to 28 days between poos and its perfectly normal... apparently!!
