SB - thanks babe.. we need em.
He was up every half hour last night - Miss M slept through it all.. but feel like my eyes are popping out of my head this morning. Should go have another cup of coffee. Hopefully my mum comes to visit today - that'll cheer him up. I feel sorry for DH - he got up to him all night - I stayed in bed, but didn't go back to sleep incase I was needed as well - and then DS wouldn't go back to sleep at around 4am - so he got into bed with us, snorted and sniffled for 45 minutes then started to push me out of bed to get up. DH got up with him and rested a little in the loungeroom whilst I caught up on sleep till 6.45 - then DD was awake as well. Hopefully he will conk out for a bit this morning... he looks pretty comfy in his thomas sofa watching diego..
Vic - I can't believe how much you get done during the day!!!! I took a pic of a HUGE weed in our yard on sunday, I was going to put it on facebook just for you.. lol.. I think you would be impressed, its like a tree!!! LOL
Sash - its actually BFing that usually makes babies gain weight quick - bit of a old wives tale that its formula that makes them fat... cos both of mine have been formula fed - and they definitely aren't fat.. its just the baby I think... ;)
Better go make a coffee.
Hello to everyone - you know I love yas ;)
Leash - glad I had good timing last night for ya!!!! ;)
Hi Everyone!
Just in here super quick to tell you all that I am now hitched! I have posted a few pics of the wedding if you want to take a look, but there are heaps on my facebook!
Have so much to do, so no time for personals. I am sorry. I hope everyone is well!
Love & Hugs
Vic, loving your house photos!! How big is the floorspace, looks huge.
CM4E - YAY CONGRATS!!! do I have you on FB? Would love to see pics.
E has been soo hungry yesterday and today, like wanting food every hour!!!! He woke up at 4am both days, which he hasn't done for over a month. Is it a growth spurt or does he need solids? I am so confused... he has been staring at the food we eat too, plus he's over 9kg but he's not 4 months yet and the guides all seem to say no solids before then. Any ideas?
I'd say a growth spurt for sure babe...
I dont' know what everyone else is doing - but we wont' start solids until 6 months at least. Then it will be baby led solids - cos I got so sick of cooking stuff and pureeing it for DS.. lol
Thanks :) I just talked to my friend and she had the same thing at 3.5 months, her boy went on a feeding frenzy for 3 days and after that dropped to 4 feeds a day! One more day of this then LOL. It's exhausting!!!
I don't want to start him on solids for as long as possible, ideally 6 months.
It's our 8 yr wedding anniversary today :)
Rach - K is looking at everything I eat now too. I reckon in another month (when hes 4 months of course) he will be well and truly ready for a taste of a few pureed vege at least. I'm going to talk to the nurse this friday and see what she recommends I start him on.
Another miserable day here today, wet and cold :( All I wanna do is go to bed but K has been grizzly today and hasnt slept much.
Gotta go!
Sash - I hope you didn't take what I said before the wrong way? I didn't mean it in a put down type of way... I've just had a couple of people assume that my kids are BFed cos they are pretty skinny - and its like uh no.. formula fed!!!!!
Rach - congrats for 8 years today - thats awesome!!
Kell - they are great pics mate - looks like you had a fantastic day!!!!
A's still grumpy in this house - he was cracking the poos before because I was eating an apple - mind you - I grabbed us both an apple, sat with him on the couch and started eating mine. So he wanted mine - cracked it big time - until I gave him mine - he gave me his - and walked off with what was left with mine and started eating it!!!! Weirdo..
Better go get Miss M - I can hear her talking from her bedroom
Vic I don't get it.... why is it sticky after 12 months? Am I an idiot?:
Guess what!!!! The next Belly Buddies thread to become a sticky at the top will be ours (July 16-31 is up there now!!)!! What an amazing 12 months it has been, it was only 12 months ago we were all about to be UTD - WOW!!!!!!
Mel - hope that grumpy boy of yours is feeling better
Rach - :cheer: congrats on 8 years!
Kel - great photos - congrats!
:hello: to squiddy, sash, MT, MM (where are you?) and everyone!
Ah Pixie, I should have explained that it is the August 1-15 2009 Belly Buddlies!! The next year :)
Rachel, Congrats on 8 years of marriage  I will have to check the area of the house, but it is BIG!!
Goodluck Squidipa for Joshies app tomorrow!
Great wedding photos Kell - looks like you had a fab day, Congrats hun!!
Would love to see your weed Mel!!! I have always had a pretty hectic life!
Hope you get better weather soon Sasha!
Nakita will be 6 months in 6 weeks time so solids for us is close..... I don't know if she will be interested but we are going on recommendations by her paediatrician, if she isn't interested though we will let her go a bit longer.
Hi everyone :)
 Perfect timing the other night Mel, I had my cranky pants on (got my wisdom tooth out that morning) then got told that I was lucky not to have to push Jazz out, well I snapped, bout time too really I think, except Shel decided it was just because I had had my tooth out and not because I was actually upset at what her friend said and upset about the c/s again (we are going to be having TALKS about that...).
Soooooooooo... I'm too scared to write this on the main site cos I don't really want a whole bunch of people telling me I'm goig to cause asthma, exema or whatever, but Jazz has started on solids. Pureed potato for now, but she LOOOOOOOOOVES sweet potato and carrot too... she is eating about half a tablespoon at night. I'm not 100% sure about it... but she 'chews' when she's eating and swallows instead of just spitting it out, and she just loves it, she yells at us if we take to long to get it to her mouth, so I am pretty sure she is ready. Ok, Shel is pretty sure she is ready and I am hesitant (but completely losing this battle so it doesn't matter what I think). Just fresh veges for now, and we'll try some rice cereal at about 5 months I think.
I start back studying this week. I have a little list of things to do each day, which will help to keep the house clean (those of you who saw my FB status will see I cleaned up a storm - not literally like some Brisbane-ites though... - and my house was spotless Saturday arvo) while I'm studying.
We didn't get the storm, well we got some clouds, a bit of wind, and some rain and lightning, but nothing exciting or serious, just an average storm. No damage done up this way, though Caboolture and Morayfield got it pretty hard I heard. Went down there yesterday for the HH midwife reunion (and caught up with Kel and Allegra and Cadence :)) and there wasn't too much debris around. SIL had power outage again (she is in Caboolture) last night, so I guess there still working some things out.
Bought a high chair yesterday from Kmart, $160 (Steelcraft HILO), got it home, go to put it all together to find that it has no tray. Great  They have no more in stock either, but luckily the Kmart down the road has one so we can go and exchange it. Can;t do that til tomorrow though so its holding her and get covered in potato again tonight (she likes to grab the spoon and shove it in her mouth, but ends up with potato all over her hands, which then goes all over her head, my shirt, my legs... actually everywhere ).
Got her weighted yesterday too, 7kg :o I keep worrying about my breast milk but I guess I must have enough. Got a CHN appt next Monday to help with the day sleeps hopefully. Shes going to roll soon too I think, shes gets halfway then decides thats far enough. I put the toys out of her reach and she rolls almost onto her side but its like she just goes "meh, I don't want the toy that much", and rolls back to her back LOL!
Ok thats enough about me. Have been so slack so next post I WILL do personals!
to be honest i have not been reading everything, leasha i dont think its an issue you feeding jazz, josiah has had lick tastes of things. As for possible asthma and that well i have it all the other kids have it and so does hubbie so pretty inevitable josiah may get it.
offical weigh in for 1 week is a loss of 55 grams!
for those of you keeping track making him now 4715grams birth weight 3410
Squidipa - no advice, just
Leash - I'm not going to give you a lecture or anything about starting solids  you gotta do what you feel is best for Jazz, and nobody knows if she is ready but YOU. Just watch for allergic reactions, or unsettledness cos she might have a sore belly from trying to process the carbs in the potato ok? I'm here if you need to chat, or a visit!!! DS grabbed the car keys today and kept saying, car.. ride... keys... so yeah would take an idiot to not work out what he wanted..lol.. so if you want a visit from a whingy toddler with pneumonia - speak up now or forever hold your peace ;)
Vic - PMSL @ you wanting to see my weed - that sounds soooo bad... lol.. hope the cops aren't watching this thread.. lol.. I'll post it in the gallery I think you will be VERY impressed, we've been letting it grow for a long time now.. ;)
Pixie - he is sleeping at the moment - so not very well at all - hopefully he will wake up in a better mood and a bit refreshed. I just wish he could sleep the illness away like WE want to when we are sick. Nope, most of the time he just wants to sit here and whinge...
Anyhoo... had a chatterbox at 3am this morning - must have a ghost in the house. DH put the dummy in her mouth and she went back to sleep. Strange child!!!!
Better go squirt some nappies to get rid of antibiotic poo - yukkoooo....

squidipa - big hugs. hope you get some answers soon. did they say anything to you today?
kel - just had a look at your fantastic wedding pics!! looked like such a lovely day :)
mel - that is a massive weed haha! hope DS sleeps well and gets on the mend really quickly.
vic - yeah if N isn't ready for solids no rush to start right on 6 months.. mum told me my sister who has always been tiny didn't want food at all until about 10 months (!!), just wasn't interested.
lesha - gees girl you put up with a lot!!
Leasha, no judging here, it is not what I would do, but it is yours and Shells decision.
Big  Squidipa, I hope you get some answers today
Thanks for that Rach, I'll see what she thinks!
What a huge WEED Mel  very impressive indeed!!
Nakita has had a huge growth spurt over the past 12 days, she hadn't been sleeping through and was throwing in extra feeds but I know why now!!!
She grew 3.5cm in 12 days!!!
And she put on 370grams!!!
Based on her corrected age she is in the 10 percentile, but looking at the 25th percentile!! She is slowly creeping up to hitting the chart based on her actual age - which is huge!!! And our scales matched the CAYHS one perfectly :)
We are so proud of her, she is such a happy bub, unless you miss the cue for a feed and give her the boob, which is a very short time frame!! Talking seconds here!! He he!!
So now we won't be going back to CAYHS until just before christmas, offically no more weekly weighins, what a huge load off my mind, we are doing the right thing, she is thriving and we are thrilled :)
Must run eat lunch as we are going shopping with friends this arvo :)
EDIT** WHO HAS CONVERTED THEIR PRAMS FROM BASINETTES TO SEATS? IF THEY HAVE THAT OPTION? THE SEAT ON MINE FULLY RECLINES
Leash  when I was in hospital and going nuts cause all the mw's were telling me different things the Bear said to me "who knows best? Mum knows best" You're the mum hun, you know best.
Vic, great that N is doing so well! Beth has a Maclaren pram which just has three settings - fully reclined, half reclined and fully upright. She has been sitting up in it since she was about 6 or 8 weeks old, cause she seemed to want to look around. The girls in my mothers' group are just starting to change over their prams now but their babies are about 3-5 weeks younger than DD.
Squiddy hope you get some answers to what is going on with Josh.
Mel how exciting you might be moving to Hervey Bay!
Anyway big :hello: to all and hope you have a great day!
    Rach, I have just seen the journal :(
