Boo im back nope
not up to date with all the posts yet sorry
joshie has to be around 9.4 kilo that was his last weigh in amount. He now takes off in the walker is so cute and gets very moody if not fed FOOD regually lol. No teeth they can be seen just not popped out yet. he loved his holiday and loved most of all the quad bike rides. says mumma and dadda and bubs and lalalala hehehe Plane trip cool glad to be back its such a long journey with a 3 hour drive then checking in 2 hours early then i think it was 3 hour plain trip 1 hour from getting off plane to getting through customs and out again for a 2 hour train trip and a walk back home. im glad thats done and i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my bed!! now its washing clothes unpacking and re washing all our kitchen stuff from dust and what not :)

got some all in ones bamboo fitted nappies just before leaving and unpacked it today yay im happy and for the last few days before coming back to oz we used disposables as we didn't want to bring back damp cloth nappies, and hubbie complained about the disposables lol im glad he is now fully on board or so it seems.:)

plunket recomended a car fitter installer thingy place to get the car seat fitted over there and the twit :angry:didnt even put up the stabilizing bar i emailed plunket and still waiting for their response as plunket recommended this car restraint fitter.

my mother innlaw in on the plunket committee and will also be addressing this issue.

Squidipa - you notice the savings heaps with cloth hey? I look at my shopping each week and think how did I ever afford nappies on top of that??!?!?!? But our weekly shop is alot less than what it used to be, plus we have that little extra to spend on treats, or a little splurge every now and again!

yes we have especially in nz as we would be paying 47 cents a nappy to throw out. we have decided to write up a chart and when nappy washing day is we put how many nappies we washed on it and at the end of the fortnight put that same amount that we would have spent on disposables into an account and save it. Other wise slowly we might just waste the cash. In Australia the nappies are say what 33.00 on sale and divide that by 72 nappies in a box and ur paying a whopping 45 cents a nappy ridiculous hey. so the savings weekly would be a bit for us even tho we choose to use nappy liners too for the morning poop. each liner is about 9 cents each. one a day most days and yeah massive savings.

Squid - Welcome Home! Glad you had a good time in NZ - we did too!

Had a bit of an unsettled night here, Kye decided to wake up 3 times. He was crying at 2:00am so I went in to check him and he was SITTING UP in his cot. I dont know whether to laugh or to be scared LOL ..... up until then I used to leave the side of the cot down but I know now I cant do that anymore!

Anyways just a short one from me, gotta get breakfast organised for the man.

Overnight N started developing quite a raspy cough, in the early hours of this morning her breathing became more laboured, so we grabbed the necessities and trundled off to the WCH, arriving at 4am.

We were seen pretty quickly, which was great, there was only one other bub in the emergency waiting room, which really surprised me, especially with all the bugs around at the moment.

She was diagnosed with Croup, and was given a course of steroids as they could see that she was having trouble breathing, but my liitle trooper still managed an occassional raspberry :lol:

She is contagious so no childcare this week, lucky that MIL is coming back down today so she can help out with N in between packing.

She has only had a couple of 5 min catnaps since 3am so I hoping she is going to go down for a big long sleep.

I questioned myself whether to take her in, when you question whether you are getting over stressed about something, but didn't feel right in my gut so thought I'd better follow my instincts. Lucky we did, Dr said if she begins to have trouble breathing again to bring her straight in. You could see her lungs labouring below her ribcage :(

Hopefully she will be feeling bright and bubbly again soon... Mummy will be after she has had more than 2 hours sleep!

Feeling a bit tired and emotional, but sure that another cup of tea and a nap might help!

Well our BIG news is we are going to New Zealand!!! :leap: :leap: :hooray: :happyforyou:
For two weeks, we have hired a motorhome so we are going to drive all over the place! We are picking it up in Christchurch and dropping it off in Auckland 2 weeks later... we got a great deal! soooooooooooo excited, and lots to organise but I can't wait!
No other real news here, Beth is a kamikaze baby at the moment, constantly falling over and hurting herself... pulls up on everything, tries to walk without holding on (doesn't work) is constantly agitating for someone to hold her hand so she can go somewhere. She is grabbing at everything, wants to be picked up and as soon as I pick her up, she wants to get down again. I try to just hold one hand while she walks now, if I hold both she takes off at a run! It's exhausting!
anyhoo, gotta run :hug: to all, maybe BBL if I find the time!

Pixie chick - its never too late to start a cloth addiction. I didn't start until DS was 14 months old.

Sasha - thank god we're not up to the sitting up in the cot part yet. I have trouble leaning over the cot when the side is up cos I'm so short.. lol

Vic - croup sucks. DS had that too when he was younger - steriods were given to him too - made him bounce off the walls. Hope it clears up for her soon xx

Went for a scan this morning, so that was interesting, a 27 month old bouncing on the bed and an 8 month old in a pram - we couldn't all fit in the same room.. bwahahahahaha

Thank god there's only one heartbeat or else I think I'd go barmy....

pixix congrats on the holiday :) na dont think its to late for cloth.. we started with 13-16 nappies and that was itwell enought to do us 2 days soaking in water and some on more or less:) we wouldnt go back now on a permanite level anyhow.

mel glad to hear ur scan went well i was wondering when if yet u had had one when is bub due?

joshie is going off of his milk intake anyone else having this issue its like all he wants is real food.

Well, Vey's sleep has been better since those teeth cut through ... although he has been very much attached to the boob for a while - loves his food, but will drop everything for booby! :rofl: He now even bites my nipple through my clothes to tell me what he wants! :rolleyes:

Anyway, I promised myself I wouldn't spend all day on the computer today, so I'd best be off!

I have tried to get on here about 3 times and every time the thing wouldn't open or it froze or something went wrong, so my apologies, but it couldn't be helped.

There has been so much happening here!

Vic - :comfort: to you and poor Miss N. What a horrible scary experience for you both. I hope she gets better really soon, either that or becomes little Miss Junior Strongman with all those steroids! :P

Sasha - Wow for Kye sitting up like that. I have to admit the times I put Jett in his cot I leave the side down too....

Mel - Yay for the heartbeat! Glad to hear all is well!

MM - I did try to say in one of my posts that Vey is going to look so cute with his fangs! All I thought of was "I vant to suck your meelk" teehee!

Squidipa - Welcome back, glad to hear your trip went well and the kids sound like they had a ball too.

Pixie - Wow! I can't believe Beth is so keen to get walking! Impressive and scary all at the same time! And yay for NZ. When are you going? We did that a few years back. We went over for a friends wedding celebration and hired a motor home so we could tour around. It was so cheap. We actually found it was cheaper to hire the 4-berth camper than to hire a mid-sized car!! It was heaps of fun and I have to admit I'm a little jealous!
And as for cloth, no never too late. But it is funny, anyone that gives it a go quickly becomes addicted and sucked in by it all! How can you not when it is just as easy as using disposables, and looks heaps cuter on their little bums?

Hey to everyone else too - SB, Shane is being an amazing bub too I hear!

Well we had our 8 month weigh-in yesterday. Jett is now 7710gms, 69cm and HC is 43.6. When we were in Adelaide we weighed him and he was 7.5kgs then, but has had this gastro and constant pooing since so I am sure he has lost weight in there but 910gms since the last official weigh-in.

Our other big news is that late on Friday night, after a day of either being strapped in the pram or in the car seat Jett finally figured out how to crawl! Yay! The whingy cry has mostly stopped (it is still there when he gets tired!) and we are on the move!

Ok, better run, I am in the middle of doing about 10 things while Jett is asleep, and so far I have only managed 2 of them (this being one!!)

Yay for Jett :dance: watch out now!! Your life will never be the same again!! lol

Sacha... Yay on sitting!! But yep slide that cot thing UP!!! We have just had to do the same! Its a PITA putting him down with it up- but if i put him down withit down he bloody wakes up when i try to pull it up (its an old cot and it squeeks!! lol) and i am too forgetful to leave it til he is deep asleep!!

Pix... Wow on beth getting around!! Shane si the same pulling himself up and hurting himself!! He has learned now to fall on his butt now instead of straight back!! It is so scary and exciting all at the same time!!

here are some pictures i have put on face book of my Angel Zahra- we lost her in 2006 due to a placental abruption. I have been thinking of her alot lately- i guess the more Shane grows up- the more i realise what i have been missing with her gone.
The photos have been photoshoped by a really a great web site who specialse in photos of Angel Babies- to make the photos a bit more easier on the eye- they tone the skin tone etc and they have a done a great job with the two pictures i have put up. I was a little bit hesitant putting them on Facebook- but at the same time there are alot of friends on there who havent seen pictures of her- and i have had an overwhelming response to them that has been really nice.

Ok thats enough dribble from me. I think it worked Pix- lol i was looking for the picture of the earth with a paper clip on ym keyboard!! lol but i eventually found it on the page!! Thanks!! I have always wondered how people did that!!

Ahhhhh Mel and I were 2 weeks over our EDD last time and I don't think she wants to go through that again! I got harassed a little bit, but the Bear kept most people at bay I think Mel must have got asked a million times "where is that baby" "have you had the baby yet" "weren't you due 2 weeks ago".... I think this time she wants to have the baby really in her own time... and if people don't know what the due date is, they can't hassle her or tell her she's late... I think when you're trying for a VBAC that kind of pressure is the last thing you need!
Anyway, off my overdue soap box now, Mel sorry if I'm putting words in your mouth, but that is how I would feel!

pixie.... thats a really good responce and a very valid reason too for not saying. I guess i have never really had enough ppl care about me to nag me like that when i went over due with my first born.

Vic, sorry to hear about N, sounds similar to what E had a couple of months ago. Good thing is they seem to come right pretty fast, those steroids help a lot!

I just put up a vid of E learning to crawl! He stood up for 10s by himself today... ee soon he'll be walking!!

Rach - that is absolutely gorgeous!! He is such a clever little bub!! Vey is still commando crawling everywhere and doesn't even sit up yet ... although he does try to pull himself up to standing with furniture :rolleyes: But I love how E crawls, then sits, then crawls again ... he's such a happy baby!

I just saw your photos SB. What a beautiful little girl, thankyou for sharing with us. I think Angelpics have done a wonderful job in keeping your very precious memory. Big hugs to you, I can understand very much why you are thinking of her alot atm.

Rach - Very cute. I especially love the rollover in the beginning! Jett doesn't sit as well as E, takes him a bit more effort, but he can do it. But what I would really love is Jett to laugh like that while crawling!! He still whingy cries cos he gets tired! Oh well, it has only been 4 days since he learnt I guess!

i made lasanga for tea and left the kitchen to find myn on my plate was eaten by ds3 along with his tea too hrmm.

Have any of you noticed your babies like to sleep on their stomach now they can roll over and are more mobile? E always switches over now, it's a bit weird for me to see but he goes to sleep soo fast if I put him on his stomach (only have been the last week) rather than his back. When is it "safe" to not worry about sleep position. I feel bad!

yep kiwigirl since rolling josh always sleep on belly but he puts himself there... does anyone use blankets on baby?

KG - I heard that once they are mobile they will put themselves in to all sorts of positions, and because they can do that you no longer need to worry about them sleeping exclusively on their back. They are obviously strong enough to move themselves and get themselves out of trouble. After 6 months the risk of SIDS reduces significantly anyway and I think this is the reason.

Squidipa - Jett is still in our bed, but he is in a light sleeping bag.

Ok, better go. Off to get my hair done.... hmmm.... should be interesting now that Jett is on the move! Hopefully he will sleep for most of it!

Rach - K puts himself to sleep on his stomach now too, has been doing it for a while actually! I have a classic photo of him 'passed out' on his tummy the very first time he did it. That vid of Eli is soooo cute, I cant wait for Kye to crawl, he's starting to get on his knees but I think he is still wee while away yet. Prefers to drag himself around the floor instead :lol:

Anyways gotta shoot, the boy is due to wake up any minute!

Squidipa.. Yeah we are using a blanket- Shane still likes to have a thin wrap not really wrapped but just over him while we feed, and then i lay him in the cot and pull the blanket over him. At night he goes in his sleeping bag as he is a clever little man and crawls in his sleep! (yep belly sleeper here too!!) and crawls out from under the blanket.
Its going to get very cold here in VIC over winter and i am thinking we will probably end up co sleeping full time in the coldest part of winter as i just feel that shane will be too cold all on his own in his cot and will need our body warmth to keep him warm.

Rach.. what a cracker!! Eli is gorgeous!! Laughing at himself so cute!! He will be doing laps of your house in no time!!

I have been having sooo much trouble getting shanes nappies on lately!! The little bugger just crawls away and no stands up whenever i try and put one on him!! DH changed his nappy the other day (DONT even ask- it has been waaaaaaayyyy too long since he changed a bloody nappy before this!!) and i could hear him going "hey get back here- where are you going? Babe????? How the bloody hell do i get the nappy on him?????"

basically you we have to put it on from behind, but then it never fits right- well i saw this ad for nappies that are like undies coz they are easy to slip on and i had a brainwave and made my own!! lol I now stick the nappy together and slip it on him!! I am going to check out the sizes of the ones that are made like that and it might be time to move up to them coz its just getting ridiculous!!!!

He has been taking some steps with me holding his hands which he thinks is great- but for some reason he likes to walk backwards!! lol My dad always said when you learn to drive a car you should learn to reverse before yo learn to drive forward- so i guess this is the walking version of that!! lol
Oh and he ahs started snorting when he laughs and thinks its a crack up and then laughs even more!! too cute!!

Well i am off to clean the house a bit as my cousin and her fiance are coming to visit us for a few days over easter!!

Just checkin in for the night. Went and had lunch with some friends today, man I still feel chocca's :lol:

Had some not-so-good news this afternoon. DH's dad is in hospital with an aneurysm on the brain. He is in surgery at the moment - went in at 4oclock QLD time; we've been told the surgery could go as long as 5 hours :( DH is trying to get on a flight to fly to Townsville tomorrow.

Please pray for him - and that he at least will make it through the surgery tonight

hrmm i wonder should joshie be pushing hims elf up to sitting position now? i mean he loves to be assisted in standing but cant really do it himself and no crawling or getting on all fours hrmm does this sound right?

Squidipa - Miss M doesn't put herself into a sitting position - she is fine if you put her in it, and she leans forward and gets herself back up - but never actually goes into a sitting position from laying down or anything. She has only just started getting up on her knees and then falls straight back down. I don't think she'll be crawling at even 9 months like DS was.

I'm not worried though - all in her own time after all!
