TK - Sounds like a busy week for you! I'm glad your DD is sleeping well at night, it sounds like you need it this week LOL!

megsmum - Wow, I can't believe E had two teeth already :o. I hope the biting is settling down. I'm dreading going through teething for another two years LOL! I'm so glad you had a great time in Port Douglas, it's such a beautiful place isn't it? DH and I have been twice and both times said we want to buy a place there too!

CheezelMonster - Woohoo on your DS's sleeps! And woohoo for putting himself to sleep! It makes life so much easier for you :D

Saffi - Wow, M is an awesome weight! I want to see some more pics of her!

Willow - :hello: Glad you found us again LOL!

koru - How's Orla's nappy rash going? Hopefully it's clearing up. It's not thrush is it? DD had what I thought was a nappy rash that wouldn't go away, but my MCHN told me it was thrush. I bought some cream for her and it cleared up really quickly.

salboo - I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL :hug:. Wow, another baby with teeth! Max sounds like a gorgeous boy :)

Cass_blob - Wow @ Eli getting around already! Did your other DD start so early?

Hi to those I've missed!

AFU - Alana has started to improve with her overnight sleeps, hooray! I am only getting up once to feed her and most nights she settles herself back to sleep if she wakes up. She's also starting to put herself to sleep for her day naps, I still rock her until she's sleepy, but can put her down drowsy and she'll fall asleep. I'm starting to feel human again LOL! She spends her days on her tummy now that she can roll over. She refuses to be on her back! It's a bit annoying when trying to dress her or change her nappy! I may have to learn to dress her backwards :lol:. Both my boys HATED being on their tummies, so this is all new to me! She's also started tummy sleeping the last two nights, I'm a bit nervous, but if I turn her over she wakes right up and needs resettling only to roll back over when I've left the room :rolleyes:.

I'm so glad that heatwave is finally over :dance:
TK, Orla's rash got worse again :shakehead: cos of the heat so I didn;t get to try out the Itti Bittis again. I finally took her to the naturopath who reckoned it was a 'mild yet persistant' fungal rash. I bit the bullet and got Canesten (well the generic of it anyway) which FINALLY seems to be doing the trick :crossfingers: so we've probably had thrush (which is fungal though more specific) the whole time (you we're right Trish!) Got a nice 'natural' preventative barrier cream to use once it clears for good but I had to call in the 'big guns' on this one :( Onya for becoming an ABA counsellor :thumbsup:- I've used them several times
Megsmum I stopped using even 'natural' wipes cos they do irritate the rash. Using cloths and sorbolene at the mo. Go the teeth! Though ouch on the nipple-grazing. We've just got lots of drooling and chewing going on here but no sign of an immenent breakthrough....
Well thankfully other happier stuff has been happening while this blasted rash drama plays out: Orla can't seem to be bothered rolling having achieved it only one day, but is getting really good at sitting :) She has also suddenly got interested in food - licking the edge of my pasta and muesli bowls. Yesterday she grabbed my fork off me and smeared tomato sauce (homemade) all over her face then delighted in licking off as much as she could reach with her tongue! I'm so surprised as she's such a boobie-girl I thought I'd have to force food down her at 8 months or something!

Hello everyone,

Bas is teething at the moment, although I am not sure when the teeth will actually pop though. Soon hopefully, I hate seeing him in pain, and although the bonjela seems to help a little, he hates the taste of it.

He is just growing up so fast. He is so much fun and so happy, but I cann't help feel a little sad because time just seems to be slipping through my fingers - before I know it he will be a toddler and then a pre-schooler and then a 'big' kid and then a teenager, and then he will be leaving home.

Ok, so maybe a little overdramatic, but I am afraid of blinking and missing any of it. It is not so long ago my DD was this age, Well my DD turns 4 on Sunday. :( It is so bitter sweet to see them grow up.

Next friday in DH and my 5th wedding anniversary. We are actually going out for it, so that will make it the 2nd time we have ever celebrated it :lol:' . I bought him some silver cufflinks as a present.

Oh Koru, sorry I didn't think of thrush earlier! It only occurred to me as I was typing :doh:. I'm so glad you have found the cause now and the treatment is working. Alana's cleared up really quickly once we started using Daktarin. Wow, Orla sounds like she is going to be a good eater :D

ETA - Misty - It's so scary how fast they grow up isn't it? My DS1 starts school this year, I can't believe it! I'm not ready yet LOL! Happy anniversary for next week, I hope you have a lovely time together :)

tk - Hope the swimming lesson goes well. We have our first one on Friday week, although I don't know if I'll be able to do it with DD1 in tow. Will just have to see how things go I guess and maybe start the following week instead. I'm soooo jealous about the sleeping ;) but sounds like you have been super busy.

Trish - Yay for the sleeping improving! Alana sounds like E with the rolling too LOL as soon as you put her down on her back she is over, its so hard to put a nappy on her LOL If you work out a way to put a nappy on backwards LMK OK?! Oh and will PM you sometime soon about FB, but may not be until next week.

koru - Wow at the sitting! Clever little girl :) And LOL at the food smearing, sounds like she is going to be pretty good on the tooth too. I'm so glad you are getting on top of the rash, just thought I'd mention the wipes because not everyone thinks of them - we had a terrible time with DD1's rash because of disposable wipes.

misty - Nope, don't think you're being melodramatic. It still seems like yesterday to me that DD1 was born and now she starts kinder in 2 weeks time :o I agree with Trish, I'm not ready for it either! Hope you and DH have a lovely anniversary.

AFU, got down to Sydney and back to get the car fairly unscathed - E is a bit of a car hater ATM. She only cried a little bit when I was almost there thank goodness and slept most of the way back home. It is so awful travelling with her in the car sometimes, poor little thing would be a lot happier if the seat was forward facing I think. Oh well, that's a while off yet cause she's only about 6.5kg or so. But the new car is wonderful :dance: Sleeping has continued to improve too, she's back to 2 feeds a night, but not holding my breath for her to stay that way LOL

fairly new to BB and just found this thread, hope its ok to tag along...my DS was born 14.9.09. Its lovely to read of other mothers with babies of the same age, and what stage the little ones are at. just reading through its amazing how different each and every baby is despite being so similar in age. My DS hates being on his tummy, and every time i put him there he'll roll onto his back instantly, dnt know how he'll learn to crawl... :|

My DD1 absolutely hated tummy time - screamed her head off whenever she was put on her tummy - and still learnt to crawl. Don't stress, he'll learn.

DS has been screaming ALL day!!
One of his molars has come through today :o I'm assuming it'll go down again? Seeing as he has no other teeth yet.
So tried Panadol, teething gel, extra feeds, dummy, cuddles, play - nope nothing helped. Was going to try a bath to calm him down but he has finally nodded off, hoping he stays asleep for a couple of hours.
Wow, what a day!! Plus DH is at work so it's been rough.

Well its only taken us 6 months but we are finally decorating M's room. We moved DS into his big boy bed over the weekend and that has meant we could move the cot. We have also bought some pink/rose paint to cover up the blue feature wall in her room. Now all we need to do is get a few little girl finishing touches and she can move in. She is practically the length of her bassinet so couldn't have lasted much longer.

On other news - all four of us went out for dinner for the first time last night. Before M arrived DH, DS and I used to go out at least once a week but haven't been brave since she arrived. Mind you it was only the local RSL so nothing fancy but was a good first step. Its located next door to DS's daycare so very convenient.

Coukie - welcome. What's your son's name?
koru - glad that you seem to have an answer to the persistent rash. Maybe now you will have some success with the cloth nappies.
Cheezel - molars aren't fun. Hopefully they will come through quickly. In the meantime keep up with the pain relief.
misty - I hear ya! I can't believe my little boy is now in a kid's bed and is currently being TT. Where did the last 2 years go? I can only imagine what I'll be like when he starts school, uni, gets married etc. LOL
Hello to everyone I've missed.

Anyway, best go and get dinner ready for my boys. Its been so hot here today and the idea of cooking just doesn't thrill me tonight.

WOW - How slack have I been! Time just gets away. I keep thinking oh I'll post later when I have more time to do persies etc. But I never have "more time". So I'm going to do a selfish post and catch up with persies hopefully tomorrow.

DD has been a real nightmare, screaming non stop and not sleeping. I started a thread when I was at my witts end and Barb Glare suggested she could have a milk protien allergy. I have been off Dairy for bout a week and a half and there has been big improvements. We still struggle to get a day sleep at all on some days but her mood has definately improved - although I'm craving icy cold chocolate milk!.

Swimming lessons are going really well and her little wetsuit arrived Friday so looking forward to testing it out on Wednesday morning.

Ellee - that is exactly why I am so bad at personals. I do read everything, but just never seem to have time or patience to respond to everyone (I always get interupted at least a couple of times whilst posting anything).

everyone doing swimming lessons with bubs, I am so jealous. I done these lessons with DD when she was a bub, but it is impossible to even visit the pool when I have three kids who all need to be held. Oh well.

I have been been working towards getting my P plates for the car since the begining of the month. It has been going really well, and I am actually begining to enjoy driving. So hopefully by the end of January / begining of Feb I will have my P's.

no my other DD didnt move this quickly! Eli is now sitting up herself, she can move into a situp position all by herself, she has her first tooth! feeding is going well! she hates it when i leave the room, screams every time i do (even if dh has her) so FDC is going to have her work cut out for her!

my darling 3yo just tried to feed her chips she thinks now mummy gives her food she can too! ut oh!

I have been missing in action ever since Josh was born terrible hey!Our internet wasn't working so have just been checking email on my phone!
It's been great having a read and seeing how everyone is doing.
Josh was born on the 8th and has been a real pleasure ever since. I honestly can't complain too much! He loves boob juice and is a wooping 9.5kgs...... He has finally started sleeping through which is pretty amazing considering we have spent the past few months traveling between Brissy and Melb. Josh is a total water baby, he loves the beach and we just started a Mum and Bubs Aqua class which he loved. He is moving so much and can get around the house by rolling or his crazy back crab crawl. I really wish he would slow down a bit, it feels like its going way to fast!

Anyway, its great to be back!

I got a headache, I'm tired, I'm grumpy, I have no patientience, and I'm annoyed. neither of my boys have been sleeping for the last couple of nights and I am over it. I NEED my sleep!

And DH and I are going out tomorrow night for our 5th wedding anniversary, and the way I'm feeling I just don't want to go anymore (I had been looking forward to it too).

Mum is coming here to babysit the kids. DS1 will not stay in bed. He just keeps getting up until late and then he wakes up all night long. DS2 has been feeding throughout the night lately (might be a growth spurt?). He is breastfed and won't take milk from a bottle easily, and HATES formula. I tried to express some milk this morning - but couldn't. I simply had non to express. Will try again later, but I usually have more milk in the mornings.

So I am going to be leaving ratty non-sleeping kids with my mum for about 5hrs, one without any Expressed Breastmilk (who doesn't yet eat solids). I am tired and cranky. Gee this is going to be fun.

Oh yeah, and DH is trying to 'surprise' me and take me somewhere really nice for dinner and then to the movies (he isn't very good at keeping secrets). So he won't tell me were we are going for dinner, just that I will need HEAPs of points (weight watchers). Just Bl**dy great! I just rang him then and asked him to get me a copy of the menu so I can check it out before we go. He gpt grumpy at me for trying to ruin his surprise.

What he fails to realise is the if this week gets stuffed up pointswise, because of one night out (whrn I could have planned ahead) I won't enjoy my night out and all his 'planning' will be for nothing.

And I'm more annoyed about this then I should be because I have a headach, am overtired and a grump.

Bahhumbug. Yes I know I'm being very ungrateful and unreasonable and selfish. But I don't care! Why for once cann't the world just revolve around me!!!

Now imagine me lying on the floor throwing the queen of all tantrums like my 2yr old does.

I'm sorry I haven't posted for ages but I just don't find the time often. I do read and catch up and am glad to hear all the bubs are doing well. Glad to hear so many of them have started sleeping through, only wish we were too :(

We are doing OK but our night sleeps have gone down hill in a big way. At first I thought it was a growth spurt or teething but it's been going on too long for that. He is VERY fussy with his feeds during the day, too busy looking around and so easily distracted from the boob and I honestly think this is half the problem. He's not getting enough BM during the day so he is waking more often at night.

I am soooooo tired! Have had my best friend staying from interstate for a few days and my nan is back in hospital so the last few days have been hectic. My back is killing me (I think from lifting the buddha in and out of his cot) and I'd love a decent sleep.

But enough whining...apart from the night sleep everything is going really well. He is a very happy content baby. We get so many comments on what a lovely placid little boy he is. He isn't as mobile as my others at this age. He isn't sitting up yet and still only rolls from back to front, hasn't worked out how to go the other way yet. His brother was crawling at 6 months and his sister not long after so he is definitely my slowest. I don't mind too much because once they start moving, it's more work! :lol: At least now I can put him down and know he'll be there when I get back.

Misty - hope you enjoy your night out despite everything and your boys start sleeping for you. My DS1 has been a bit off with his day naps and that's annoying enough

I feel cranky like Misty, except my crankiness isn't attributed to lack of sleep. Rather my 5 yr old DS1.
My DP has now spent the better part of 3 weeks away for work.(He's a builder) and after 3 weeks of hearing 'mummy" every 5 mins 12 hours a day i feel like banging my head against the wall. :wall: The whiney tone, the whinging about being bored despite the various activities we play together and the countless outings..oh yes he's whinging at me right now about nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........Growl..... ...
As for DS2 thank goodness he is such a happy relaxed baby who doesn't cry even when DS1 is jumping all over him....I feel a bit better now for venting.....DS1 starts school next week, I'm looking forward to that!

It's great to hear how so may of you are taking your bubs swimming, I didn't know they had classes for bubs this young. I know i started DS1 at about 12 months or maybe he was a bit older? Its something I think I will look into doing with Max.

Chow - welcome back. Great to hear that Josh is going so well.
Willow - M is exactly the same. She pulls off all the time and would rather be looking at the TV, her brother, the dogs etc. Still she's a good weight (I think) so she's getting what she needs. We're not sleeping through either, and can't see that changing anytime soon.
Misty - LOL at the image of you having a tanty on the floor. I feel like doing that too some days. Please enjoy your night out. I know its a pain to have to organise the kids, sitters etc, but honestly you deserve some time out for yourself. Oh and congrats for 5 years - well done.
salboo - gotta love the whinging (NOT). I swear thats more draining than the actual physical caring IYKWIM. Strangely tho I am sure you'll miss him when he goes to school.
Cass - don't they grow up quick. M squirms and flaps her arms in the air when she sees me. Its so heart warming that they have such love for you, isn't it.

Hi to anyone I've missed.

AFU - things are ok. M still not sleeping much during the day but I am trying to make more of an effort to monitor her tired signs and try to resettle her when she does wake. We are up twice at night, once at around midnight and then at around 4 - 5am.

I've been stressed lately at finding daycare for her for when I return to work in 2 months time. DH is keen to take some leave to look after her and I was thinking about extending my leave too. Then today a centre rings me and can offer me a place now for all the days we need. I'm not ready to send my little girl off just yet!

I've been trying to get my DS into swimming lessons but as he is only available on weekends haven't had much luck. I suppose I could take her during the week but it doesn't make much sense to only do it for a couple of months and then have to stop when she goes into daycare.

Anyway M is showing tired signs so I might boob her up and try to put her down for a nap.

Baz has started saying "mum" - I kid you not!!! Didn't believe it at first, but even DH has told me. I didn't think baby's started words this early???? I cann't remember my last two, but I think they were older then this....

Anyone else getting words????

Maybe it is just a sound to him and he doesn't really know it's a word, IYKWIM....
