OMG PP that is so rediculous!!! Like you said you don't mind following regulations but get your facts right!!!!!!! We were given a script with our zantac and the words of the dr who prescribed it for me were that 'with the symptoms i've described it could be silent reflux, he will give us a script for zantac and we can give it a go it can't harm her' :o Not terribly reasuring but i was confident in myself that it was what we were dealing with. The zantac can taken a couple of weeks to really take effect and make a difference and as you know an hour can feel like a day and a day like a week. So before 2 weeks of zantac were up i was at the chemist begging them to know if there was anything else i could do for her. I was told i could give her infant gaviscon and the assistant even confirmed this with the pharmasist for me. I even asked the question repeatedly finding out when to give it and how often. In our situation i have actually not continued to give infant gavison to her, the zantac began to take effect and it got to the point where i couldn't bare putting all these foreign things in her little mouth/belly.
I hope you get some results from the gaviscon with her morning feed, poor bub and poor mum and dad.
Grrrrrr at the suggestion that you don't know the difference between wind and reflux. Very clear differences in my opinion.

MADB - No, I haven't tried ultrasound but have heard it's good. I was almost going to make a call to a physio but I just don't know of one to go to. There is one around the corner but I don't know how good they are with this type of stuff. There is one near my hospital that specialise in womens health but it's about a 20min drive. It's not a drive I wanted to do at the last minute. I actually got the mastitis in a different area in the breast to last time
KAZBAH - I'd never heard of AP for mastitis either. I just love my therapist, he's that good that I was confident he could help in someway. AP is my new form of therapy for everything. But again, it's only cause my therapist is so good. I don't think they're all like that. Wow, 2 to 5am. Surely you can't be getting a decent sleep? Lucky if you are. I can fall asleep while feeding but it's generally only for a few mins
PP - Oh, what a terrible time you're having. I hope you can get it sorted soon.
EJ - And how is your princess? How are you coping with the 3 kids? I admire you that's for sure. You don't have family around either do you? My sister & I were talking yesterday (she has 3 girls, 5, 4 & 3yo) & we were saying how much easier it would be if we had parents to help. She has my mum, but mum is partially deaf & partially blind so she can't drive. I have my dad's sister but I'm not comfortable throwing two kids at her. There is no way I could cope with 3
Well I have officially returned to work! Eeeek.... I have my first appointment tonight. It's much earlier than we were expecting but my Sydney based firm has opened a Gold Coast office and they're flat out. At this stage I am working around DH's roster so I can only see clients when he's home. His on day shift this week so I have an appointment tonight & tomorrow night. There will be some weeks where I can't go see clients, like when he's on night shift and evenings. The appointments are only for a few hours but my appointment tonight is over an hours drive. It will just be hard getting home late and waking so early. So even less time on BB for me :(
Eden had a rough day yesterday as I was out all morning getting my stuff ready for work. He hardly slept all day. So when it came to his 7.30pm feed he was just too tired and hardly had any. So therefore he woke at 4.40am for a feed. Of course I couldn't get back to sleep so when 5.30am came along I thought DS1 should be up any minute so I got up. Of course he's not up yet, which is always the way hey.

How long is bubs awake time now? Harper has pretty much been happy with and hour and then more than ready for bed but the last couple of days she's been cat napping so i'm wondering if she'd prefer to be awake a little longer?? What's everyone else up to??

I have learnt to sleep while feeding - have to since DD's up every 2-3 hours. She was doing longer stretches but not now.
She's tired after an hour, but doesn't always go to sleep when she needs to.
Hope all goes well withyour return to work Georgi! Sounds like you can work it around your parenting ok.

EJ- Charlie is up for hour and half and than his ready to go back to sleep. He sleeps in his rocker during the day and at night he sleeps in his hammock.

Jules can i ask what weight Jacob is and the dosage of zantac he's on? Harper's symptoms seem to be coming back and our dosage has never been changed. Harper is on .8 3x a day. I'm now waiting for a call back from the doctors to see if they'll change it. I also just walked up to the health nurse and she now weighs 5050kg.
Thanks Cathie, i have a feeling the sleeps are happening because of the reflux symptoms all over again but at the same time i know she's getting to the stage where she might want to stay awake a little longer. Ohhhh my mind is on overdrive :juggle:
We have been told we can increase dosage to 1mg 3x day. Lets hope we have a happy little girl again soon.

I forgot to add - we went to the nurse yesterday, she's 60.5cm and 5.5kg. So she's doing well anyway

HI girls,
SOrry it's been a hectic few days and i haven't had chance to say hi properly. THis still might be a bit of a selfish post but i will get back to you all.
Since the weekend Harper's reflux has been coming back, at first i thought it was just because i'd had some homemade pizza with onion on it but it gradually got worse to the point where it was like we were back at the beginning all over again. Tue night she woke up for at least 4 feeds (we were only doing 1 or 2) and then yesterday she couldn't sleep more than 40min and i had no sucess at all in resettling her. Her best sleep all day was in the wrap on me where i listened to her constantly swallowing. I went to the MCHN for a weigh and i'd explained to her that i couldn't get into the dr's and she told me to call them back and either get them to increase her dose over the phone all demand to be seen. She was really supportive this time!! So they have increased it for me and i just hope to see an improvement today. So far she's slept longer than 40min, i heard a little noise from her at the 40min mark but she resettled herself!! Because things were going really well i thought maybe we'd be able to be over all of this by the 3 month mark but maybe not!!??
I was so physically and emotionally exhausted yesterday i was in bed at 9pm (no sewing or 'me time') i slept great and so did Harper, she was obvioulsy exhusted after the last few days and didn't wake for a feed until after 5am. I slept on and off from then until Aidan came into me at 7ish.
Georgi good to hear things are going well but it does sound like things will start to get fairly busy for you. Maybe we can say quick hi's on fb now and again. I think it was you asking about having family help. I actually do have help, i try to do as much as i can on my own but i do have support around me. My MIL has Aidan on a friday morning and is about to take him to swimming lessons on those days. My mum has been staying with us since Dec last year, she has helped enormously, although she's a bit emotional at the moment so some days she doesn't show her face. The help is great but i like to think i can do it on my own also. A pride thing maybe :)

Cathie, Charlie boy sounds like such a little pleasure. I see that the twins are TT!!! Great for you, some days it does seem like you're constantly changing bottoms doesn't it!?

Hey girls, sorry I haven't been on in a few days, I had a few good but busy days and things took a turn for the worse yesterday. Jacob is really suffering with his reflux.. He is fussing during feeds, will fall asleep for a few mins but wake up crying and need me to pat his back while he burps then cries then burps then spews then swallows then screams. It's horrible. I'm a mess today. I cried most of today. I had two hours sleep last night in total and he would sleep for two mins max at a time.. I ended up bringing him onto the floor with me as my legs got sore getting up and down all the time. I rang his pediatrician today (thanks for the suggestion EJ) and he's now on 1.5ml twice a day. Let's hope it helps my sweet little boy come back to being comfortable again. Sorry for the selfish post, I'm thinking of you all. I'm writing this on my phone while I lay beside my little man and he's finally closing his eyes, I better do the same cause who knows how long it'll last. Will write soon. Xoxo take care

Will tonight is really unsettled, he's had feeds every 2hours since he woke up this morning, now he's all crying and sucking on his hand. really bad wind :( (hey Marcey, how about a butt blowing wind smiley?) and 2 pooey nappies today, he went 3 days without a decent poo :( poor little man.
but he went to his first funeral today, and he was very well behaved, and doled out hugs and snuggles like a trooper at the reception after.

Jules it's like our bubs are duplicates? Poor things. From both of our experiences it's reasuring to know the symptoms we describe are for a particular reson but so sad that our little ones have to go through it.
PP i hope Millie has settled down i hope she doesn't have to expereince it as well.

Kaz there has been a few occasions when Harper suffered from terrible wind, lots of really horrible screaming. She had been a little more regular but that may be been from the rotavirus and now it seems to have slowed down again. Just hope we don't get pain like that again for her. Snuggly Will sounds like he really made an impression, sorry i had to be at a funeral though, hope everyone is ok :hug:
Yesterday from about 12 onwards (when we had to go out) Harper barely slept and then kept just doing 40min cat naps after that. Got to go out this morning but hope for a better day some how.

DD did a thick poo yesterday. I emailed the ABA to find out if normal - never saw that with DS. It was almost like toothpaste. She wasn't in any distress over it :dunno:
She actually had a 4.5hr stretch last night! that was nice.
It's so hot and humid... still... and will be for a wihle. Over it!
DD pretty much won't sleep after 3pm... dozing only. then she'll finally have a pre-bedtime nap around 6-7. She only ever does 40 minutes max now anyway... sigh. so much less nappy-making time :)

wow MadB - that's a decent sleep! yay!!!! weird - we find the FF poos are like toothpaste ...
Vaccs today - poor little man ... and I'm off to the psych @ 1pm :)
