Jules, seriously, you're doing fine. Jacob is wonderful and thriving. Flexibility is great. I would much rather be flexible about everything than in some rigid routine - that would never work for me. You're both happy, so everything is good!

Thanks MadB, I feel that I'm doing fine too, I think it was more her telling me that he'll never learn to sleep through the night if I don't change things..but he only wakes once now anyway...
pffft :D
Jules got 3 monsters climbing all over me right now but.....
I love a routine but my routine isn't set in stone especially with Harper, i think it's about having something that works for you and for your little man. Days change and flexability is great because then we don't have to get up tight about things when they don't go our way (which can happen often as we all would know). I'm prety sure from what you say Jacob and Harper are very similar and if she wants to sleep more than an hour she does resettle herself and do it quite happily but some days (most days) she just doesn't and i'm ok with that. My routine is more so about the order she feeds, plays and sleeps in and that's it.
You could never be a bad mum, Jacob is a healthy, happy and content little boy and that's all that matters
Jules -- Looking at the lastest pics of Jacob, I can honestly say there is nothing wrong with your parenting. He appears to be a very happy little man (with incredible eyes!). You're doing an awesome job! DP is gone from 7.30 til 5ish. When he works weekends he tends to work a bit later, so its hard. Especially when Hannah is having a rough day, I can't talk to him as he doesn't get mobile reception at work. Occationally he radios me, but I can't radio him.
Crumpet - I'm thinking that maybe it wasn't the yogurt that cause Hannah's disgusting nappies, as she did another one this morning. I'm thinking its just her body adjusting to the 6mo formula. We ran out of newborn, so had to move her up to 6mo, but only a week early.
Hannah's routine is relaxing as she is changing her sleep patterns. She's up for about 2 hours at a time now, not one hour. And sleeping for 1-3 hours.
I'm learning to relax and just go with what she wants, because I was so rigid with her patterns. She's sleeping alot better now that I've relaxed.
Although yesterday she was awake from 7am-9am. 10.30am to 6pm. Yes. I put her to bed at 12.30 (I was at my mums), and after an hour of her crying I came home and put her into her own bed. She stayed in bed for 2 hours (I checked on her a bit) just quietly talking and 'resting' in bed. No sleeping. Just resting.
That was something different!!
I think some predictability and familiar patterns are helpful for young children, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to time everything to the second. Like Hannah, most babies change their internal rythyms (or routines if you like) pretty frequently in any case.
That must be hard, having your DH away so much.
Hi all! Sorry, it has been awhile!
Jules, I echo MadB's pfffft. My mummy mantra is, if it's not a problem for us, then it's not a problem at all. Other people are free to have their opinion but you know what? We're free to raise our children the way we see fit. Sounds like Jacob is thriving and happy, and as you say you have to suit your lifestyle!
Hi Cathie, yes it's fricking freezing. *shiver* Millie is sooooo much better, it's awesome to see her smiling and playing again. And having spent so much time sitting on my lap over the past fortnight, she is almost sitting on her own now :)
Crumpet, ooo, new carpet!
Kaz, thanks for the tip, and great news on the rolling and crawl attempts!
MadB, glad Miri liked her bread (and plates etc :))
EJ so glad you have an answer and some treatment! I hope Charlie and Harper are okay.
Charlotte, great that Hannah has adjusted to her cot okay! DH made Millie's cot look like a SIDS prevention poster
Audax, good to see you! Hope you're doing well.
Argh, I have so much to catch up on... Millie has just started squealing (one of her new "things") so I better go... bbl for more!
Well, Millie drained her bottle and immediately started rubbing her eyes and pulling her ears, so she's back in bed already!
So, where to start... Millie is so much better. She still has a bit of a cough, but it is all loosening up and she hasn't needed ventolin in about 36 hours. She's smiling and playing again, and is really experimenting with her voice. Lots of squeals! We saw the cardiologist on Friday, AWESOME news: one hole has completely closed and the other is nearly there  He doesn't even want to see her for follow up before she starts school!! So chuffed. She went to her first kid's b'day party on Saturday. She wore her superbaby outfit, so cute :)
MadB, you asked about the job application... I had an interview this morning! It went pretty well, but now I'm just waiting to hear. They said I'd hear by the end of the day... helloooooo, it's 4.45! Get on with it! I had a great preparation for it: Millie slept through AND... I was having a "skinny" day so I tried on a pre-preg suit... and it fit! So rather than going in pants and a loose top I was in a dress suit and heels!
Slowly getting ready for the trip. The cat hates me as she has been vaccinated and flea treated prior to going into boarding. There's piles of travel-related stuff on the floor of my sewing room - just need to write some lists and figure out how to pack for 5 weeks o/s with an infant...
Oh, other big news, I finished my challenge quilt! I didn't think I'd get it done as Millie was sick, but the deadline was extended! My first queen size quilt :)
Meh, she's squeaking and carrying on again. Make up your mind little girl!
Thanks girls, it's nice to know you're all on the same page as me!! We do have a basic routine, but I just don't force sleep on him the way she's telling me to. I'm just going to continue with my way cause it's what has always worked for us :)
Charlotte - I SO hear you on not being able to talk to your DP. DH works underground in a mine and to talk to him I have to call comms office and tell them his ped number and get them to send him a message underground and tell him to call me. It's so much hassle and I don't like doing it so I only ring for emergencies. It sucks that when we're having a bad day here I can't talk to him. And my family lives six hours away so I find it hard sometimes with no support.
PP - AWESOME news on Millie's heart check up!!! WOOHOO! Congrats on finishing your quilt, all while raising a little bub....unreal work! Sounds like you were dressed to impress for your interview, that's excellent it went so well! I don't envy you with packing for a five week holiday overseas with a baby...I find it difficult packing just to go back and visit my family!! I end up with so many clothes that don't get worn (both mine and his) and the car is always packed to the max!
Gotta go, hope everyone else is well. xox
Cathie good to hear that Charlie is liking his food. Hope those sniffles are gone for good very soon. Harper has just woken up all congested, we're not over the illness just yet either.
MadB sounds like Miri is loving exploring with her mouth. Not sure about the surviette though :)
Kaz i'm definatley getting some relief now which is so exciting. The bb area is the best it's been in weeks  i almost not dreading looking at myself. I did end up with thrush after all the mess of what was going on but i think we're under control with that, i had all the meds so just started taking them again and all seems pretty good. Harper's pretty good today, not sleeping the best at a time when her little body could probably do with it. What's the bet she'll want to tomorrow when it's time to take Aidan to Kinder!? Charlie didn't have to come to emergency with us but my gosh i think he was trying to  Hope the boys are good and work is treating you well.
Crumpet calling the ambulance was just a split second decision that i decided was the right thing to do. I've done it a few times at work when there were car accidents out the front so i knew what to expect. I'm a pretty calm person but was panicing at the same time. It all happened in a matter of minutes really from Harper waking, seeing her coughing and gasping for breath, knowing i couldn't get her to the hospital on my own but it being necessary for her to go so i called an ambulance. It was instinct i suppose, if the time ever comes for you (hopefuly it doesn't) but if it does just stay calm and just trust yourself to do the right thing.
Like Kaz said with the reason for our call we ended up having an ambulance come to us that wasn't even from our area (there's a base just down the road) because they were all busy.
Going to have to catch up more later ladies. My little one isn't feeling too good, will try catch up tomorrow :)
I'd love to see a photo fo the quilt PP :)
Glad you're feeling better EJ!
They do really pick their moments for sleeping (and not) dont' they?
:leap: hooray for finishing your quilt and your skinny day PP! Did you hear back after all?
Oh and :hooray: for Millie's heart too!
We went to the local school today to put DS' name down for kindy next year. eeeeek! He's growing up
PP - yay for the interview you will get the job, when do you leave form your holiday? Yes please put some photo's up of your quilt i wish I could even sew a button. My Hubby does all the sewing and ironing as he was in the navy for 12 years.
EJ - 3 monsters climbing all over you that sounds like my house :)
Jules - Just go with the flow that's what I do with Charlie Boy, the rest of the tribe have a routine in the morning and in the afternoon if not it's MAD,MAD.MAD.
MadB - school, yes they do grow up sooooo quickly :(
Night all
Cathie
goodness!
PP - yay on the quilt and the heart! Definately need to see it, you skinny minnie you!!!!
EJ - yay on (.)(.) !!!
Crumpet - if you want to prepare (just in case) what you need when you call an ambulance is your name, address, phone number and nearest cross street. Also any identifiers if you live in a difficult area. Call from your home phone when possible, cause if you can't remember those details, they can get the number from the official database. Same as when you're visiting someone, always call from the landline.
6 month formula? Curious, our MCHN told us to stay on the same formula as there's no need to upgrade, it's just a marketing ploy. Unless the medical professionals have suggested changing formula, you can stay until they wean. And our MCHN told us not to use the toddler milks either, more marketing ploy. More than happy to discuss my thoughts on toddler milk if you say the word!!!!
anyhows, it's now midnight. Went to my SiL's 50th tonight, Pip was adorable as always, and Will was (literally) passed around the table. It's OK though, cause it kept him amused!!!!
I do hope he crawls, Pip never crawled - it'd be fun to see!!!!
so good night pretty ladies, and dream a little dream for me!
Kaz i have always been told/heard the exact same thing about formulas. The 6month + is just a marketing ploy (so freaking frustrating, it's our babies health they are using to make more $$$$) And when Aidan was no longer breastfeeding i asked the dr about the toddler milk because my attitude was that if he'll benefit from it i want to provide it. But the Dr said no it's more so for little ones with growth issues who need the help or who aren't getting a sufficient (sp) diet.
BBL girls, long night with a snuffly nose DD. Lots of feeds and therefore restlessness from me. Sooooo tired :)
Have a great day :)
You are more than welcome to have your say on formula. I'd be very happy to hear it. Honestly. :-)
But, that being said, I just ordered 5 tins off Chemist Warehouse, lol.
I'll probably start introducing cows milk after she's one.
I don't see the MCHN (only for injections), as she has never dealt with premmies or Gastroschisis. She had massive issues with Hannah's growth rate and feeding portion, and telling us to take Hannah off Zantac/Ranitadine. While she was 'concerned' about everything, the Childrens (her physio, OT, and more importantly - her surgeon) were excited over Hannah's progress. One of the side effects of Gastroschisis is that bubs have a very slow growth rate. Which is why at 6 months old, she's only about 5.5kgs. Off to weigh her in the next couple of days. I know that by being on the Gastroschisis Support page that Hannah is progressing well and if her surgeon is happy, then we're happy.
Hannah is being lovely. Although, she's in bed now, I can hear through the baby monitor that she's trying to poop, its hilarious. So I guess she's not having a big sleep. She's had an hour, so I guess that'll do, lol. We're going out again tonight (schnitzel night at the pub last night, and tonight Nana is cooking a roast.) so I was hoping that Hannah would sleep as much as possible today. But hopefully it'll all work out so she's happy when we go to Nana's.
Anyone had their injections yet? Not looking forward to it. Hannah gets so grumpy, but at least (for once) DP will be home for that whole day so he can experience post injection meltdowns.
Gotta go, she's complaining now....
im so confused about this 6 month formula business!:wall:
cant wait our carpet is about 50 years old, dusty and no matter how much i vacuum it, it never comes up "nice" :o
oh dont u love the squealing! summah taught herself how to do it while we were away, in all the nice boutique wineries she would let loose!
thanks hun, gives me a idea of why and what made u realise to do it.
thanks hun, thats a great tip to have!
please go to town on the whole changing formula thing becasue i have no idea, Summah is 6 months next week and i dont think we see her MCHN for a few weeks, although we have needles so will see her paed next week so i can ask him, but any extra info is much appreciated!
Routine: we have a flexible routine.
generally we get up at the same time every day, bottles food and bath happen at the same time every day, but sleeps meh if we are home she will be put to bed, but it im out i just let her do whatever.....
but it have a routine for me not her, coz im anal and like to know whats happening and when!
AFU: we had a very exciting night in our house last night!
Summah can sit up by herself unassisted for around 30-60 second mark!!!
was so weird seeing her sitting there!
plus we had our first attempt at finger foods last night!
i had wanted to do BLS with her but was just not confident enough, so last night after i didnt mash her potato enough and she managed to chew the lumps no issues at all, i thought id give it a go.....
chopped her a chunk of banana and pear and we failed.... it was to slippery for her! just when i was good to go!
will try again im going to get some sweet potato and steam some chunks and see if she can hold that!
Charlotte, sounds like a good idea to skip the nurse :)
Re formula, I understood there's a difference in the proteins (whey vs casein) and some extra iron. No idea what difference the proteins make, but the iron is better sourced from actual food anyway. The iron they put in formula and fortified foods (like rice cereal stuff) is very difficult to absorb, which is why it tends to cause constipation. Does it cost more than the other stuff? If so, it's almost certainly a marketing ploy.
As for toddler milk.... Milkshake in a can is how I've heard it described :) It's not really formula (which is designed as a complete food to approximate breastmilk), it's somewhat fortified powdered milk with heaps of sugar added in. There is nothing in there that children can't get from eating food. Personally, if your toddler is not eating well at the 12-month mark and you're concerned about what they're getting, I'd say continue with infant formula rather than the toddler stuff.
Well done Summah! Crumpet, carrot and broccoli sticks are great to start with, just steam them till they're soft enough for her to gum.
Cathie, that's awesome that your hubby does that. My DH was in the reserves years ago and does the ironing and used to do any sewing that needed doing, but I've since picked up that job.
You could give it a go now, yeah.
Hello all!
As per your requests, here is my quilt! I got the fabric and pattern in April 2005 when I was starting out with patchwork, and the sheer size of it (queen bed quilt) was daunting. So it has been sitting there in my pile of projects since then and I signed up for the challenge late March :)
So... I got the job! It took me emailing the deputy around 11 this morning, I can't believe he didn't call or email before then! Anyway, I am now head teacher of ESL, part time til the end of the year with the possibility of going into next year (not too fussed if it doesn't continue as I plan on growing another human next year!). I'm a bit nervous, but generally excited.
Ack, don't start me on formula companies. When I had to start ff full time I was trying to find out more info on the different brands on the net, and each brand's website came up with a "breastfeeding is best... seek medical advice first... click here to absolve us of responsibility..." page. I ended up in tears so many times, I know they need to encourage bf but it was pretty upsetting at the time, especially when they then go on to try and gouge as much cash as possible out of you, and as EJ says, play on the desire of parents to give their babies the best of everything they "need". The AR formula is the same from birth to 12 months so no changes here.
We leave on Saturday night! I'm a bit worried about the e-coli outbreak. How do you avoid salad in summer!!??
Oh MadB, school already :( exciting but a reminder of how quickly time is going! Good to know we can give Millie toast. She always looks so interested in DH's toast, but he slathers it with peanut butter sooo... and we use multigrain bread. Guess we should switch to white?
Charlotte, Millie was actually really good with her 6 month shots. She screamed when they were given (of course) but had no reaction and was absolutely fine.
Kaz, I had to smile: "dream a little dream" is probably Millie's favourite lullaby :) That, or "moonshadow".
I had better go, trying to get piles of laundry done and dried before Saturday!
Hope you're all well :)
xox
Bah. I think the marketing tactics of most formula and baby food companies are pretty despicable to be honest. Parents want to do the best for their kids and they get fed a whole pile of rubbish and hype. :shakehead: But let's face it, it's not really any different to the tactics they use to sell adult food or pretty much anything else for that matter.
She could have multigrain. It'll probably just come through her poo though. I *think* the advice now is not to avoid possible allergens like peanuts. Depends what you're comfortable with of course. And some peanut butters have dodgy additives in them too.
I hope your trip is wonderful PP! And congratulations on the job :leap:
ok cool thanks!
ive armed myself with some watermelon and carrots to try that as finger food tonight....
will cook some toast tomorrow morning, should i put anything on it? vegemite? i know honey and jam are no go's..... oh and peanut butter is a no no as well, anything else?
thats gorgeous hun, VERY clever!!!
yay! congrats!!!
No honey, no. I wouldnt' put anything on it for now. Plain foods are better - you don't want to overload them with salty or sugary things. They don't need the extra flavour in any case.
I started Pip off with just the crusts of the toast, he'd gum on them for ages and really enjoy it. Actually, even now Pip doesn't like salty things and isn't a huge fan of sugary stuff.
*Jumps on soap-box*
With formula, they aren't allowed to actually market formula for babies, it's part of some code somewhere. So they create 6-mth formula which *doesn't* have the marketing restriction on it and market that (what's that ad? "Breastmilk is wonderful for your baby, but after ... ") so you get the name association if you're actually looking for infant formula. And the toddler milk is able to be shown during kids' programming on teev so again, more marketing and product association. All this is because they can't advertise infant formula. Another interesting thing is that in the latest ABA mag it has that they did some studies and found that BF bubs would drink (on average) as much per feed as older bubs, just that the milk does change to their requirements as they grow. With formula, it's about giving the baby more formula to get the same benefit as they grow. But these are just my thoughts - please remember that I do FF Will, I did FF Pip, and am also a fairly cynical person at times :D Either that, or I've watched too much "Gruen Transfer"
PP - I don't know what I'm more jealous of. Your quilt, or your lawn! I *wish* we had lawn!!!! they are growing so fast!!! YAY on the job!! Hope you enjoy it!!!!!
Ummmmm so much more but I'm so exhausted ... need to wash bottles before making a cuppa and going to bed.
Think you're totally right on that Kaz :)
Also on the quilt and lawn :D
You asked about solids - just giving Miri the odd thing to play with. She's not eating. Just as happy with bowls and utensils mostly
I've made an osteo apt for her this afternoon. Hoping for a 'magic' man/woman to help her sleep. Worth a shot I guess. I swear she didn't go longer than 30 minutes without waking last night. No teeth there that I can tell and thougght the cold was almost over... probably something else on the horizon :wall:
DS loves salt! He'll eat it straight in a restaurant when he grabs it off the table. Don't know where he gets that from. And chocolate is now his favourite food (apparently) and tv is his favourite thing to do. mummy fail
I concur with Kaz's formula opinions. I also watch a lot of Gruen. I wouldn't kick Todd Sampson out of my bed on a cold night!
6 months old today! Woweee! DD has celebrated by having a big midday sleep (hour and five, but that's her longest ever stretch unassisted) and making the transition to solid poos. Hard work for her, but great for me, so much easier to get the poo off the nappies!
She's on solids, started BLS a couple of weeks back, and now eating all kinds of stuff. Still gluten-free though, there is a history of coeliac in DH's family, so we're trying to stay off it as long as we can. But that's just us - I wouldn't say any other babies should be off bread from 6 months. Tonight I'm going to make some breastmilk & polenta sticks, and we'll see how those go.
PP - your quilt is stunning! I'm useless at quilting - other sewing is fine, and I love dressmaking, but quilting and I just don't mesh.
Soooooo cold here today!
Hey girls!
EJ - How's Harper feeling? I hope she's better. I really feel for these little ones battling off sickness at the moment, so unfair! silly winter..That's WONDERFUL news that you're finally getting some relief, you won't know yourself :)
Cathie - Thanks, I have always just gone with the flow and that's how I intend to continue!! :) Hope you're all on the mend.
MadB - Kindy...gosh. I was watching my nephew today and it just blows me away how grown up he is, time just flies. How did the osteo appointment go? Gosh, every 30 mins...you must be exhausted!! :( I hope you find something that'll work soon. I don't think I'd call that mummy fail at all!! He's got a mind of his own now!
Kaz - Sounds like you had a great time at the party! Hope you had a restful night when you finally got to sleep!! :crossfingers: for crawling...is he still trying to perfect his form? :)
Charlotte - I think you're doing the right thing listening to the surgeon etc and not the MCHN, she doesn't have any experience after all so I don't blame you for not trusting her completely in that respect. Good luck with the formula issues! How did Hannah go with your two nights out??
Crumpet - Yay for sitting up!! Clever girl Summah!! :) Good luck with the finger foods, sounds like fun...I worry about trying them cause I live an hour away from the hospital and there is only one ambulance in town so if it's on a call out we have to wait for one to come from the next small town which is about 20 mins away (and if that ones out it's an hour away....).
PP - AWESOME job on the quilt, so talented!! And congratulations on the new job!! I knew you'd get it! :) If I dont get to say it before you leave, good luck with your holiday, I hope you all have the most wonderful time on your first big family holiday. Write down any helpful tips to pass on hehe.
We're doing good here, left home at 4am this morning and arrived at my parents place at 11am, went to lunch for my SIL's birthday at 11.30 then shopping at Target...Jacob was really well behaved, got back to mum and dads, put him in his cot to sleep and he's still there an hour and a half later...what a champion!! We're so lucky he travels so well, he makes us look like pro's. Other than that everything is all good, nothing major to report.
Hope you're all well xox
Sorry Audax, I missed you before, it took me a while to post!! Happy six months to E!! :) Sounds like things are going well with solids! I agree with the difference in nappies...
If it makes you feel any better Jules, there's less risk of choking when they feed themselves compared to spoon feeding (I'm guessing that's what you're concerned about?)
Little Jacob really is a champ!
Audax, it sounds like she's taking to food like the proverbial fish to water!
Miri seemed to enjoy the osteo :D she's asleep in the car - I daren't move her! Osteo reckoned their sleep is often better right after a treatment. I remarked that it couldn't get much worse. I sure hope those aren't famous last words.
 sorry Mad B, I'm exhausted...or maybe it's mummy brain, yes I meant cause I worry about choking! How long did Miri sleep? That's great she enjoyed it cause if it works I'm sure you'll be going back!!! :) thanks for the assurance on BLS, I think I'll give them a go soon just to try it..
Well hubby and the two older kids are going away for the weekend family thing up at COffs, not going too long of a drive just for 2 nights. So left at home with 4 little ones should be very interesting. Will keep you all informed !!!!!!!!!
Cathie
Oh good luck Cathie, hope you get some quiet time. DH has gone away with Aidan so it's me with CHarlie & Harper, hope i get some quiet time also :)
:o i had no idea about all of that!
clearly im living under a rock! lol....
so do u keep them on the newborn formula until they go to cows milk?
she is loving the sitting up thing, except she can only balance for so long, but if i lay her on the floor she goes wild after 20 or so mins, hates being flat! makes for interesting days trying to keep her happy! :wall: but she will soon figure it out im sure!
i was worried about the choking thing, but when she did so well with lumpy food i got confident.
ive bought her some watermelon so ill give her that tonight after her veg and see how we go!
wow thats a big day! glad jacob did so well with such a big day! good work little man!
eeeek! sounds full on, hope u get some quiet time!
you too ej, hope its not to full on!!
hows ur poor chest going?
AFU: we are all good here, scored summah a fisher price giraffe thing on ebay for $10 instead othe $89 i saw them for at toys r us, so we picked that up today, no way will she use it yet but always good to have things ready to go!
looked after my GF's 3 kids last night, so between DH and I we had a 3yo, 2yo, 9mo and a 6mo (summah) and OMG it was crazy!
poor summah looked like s stunned mullet watching the other 3 run wild, coz thats what they do :shakehead: and it was her feral time, and the 9mo hit feral time, WOW is all i can say!
needless to say the thought of another baby anytime soon has been pushed well away!
cant wait to have DH home for 3 days with the long weekend, we are pulling up the old carpet ready for the new stuff next week, and doing some painting. should be fun filled!
Sounds like a great contraceptive Crumpet!
Good luck cathie & EJ!
Well, Miss Hannie is 6 months old today!! All day I've been looking at the clock.... 10.30am - was in theatre. 10.49am - Hannah was born. 1pm - said goodbye to Hannah before she went to the childrens. 7pm - she was in surgery.
Went to Mother's Group/ Playgroup today as we haven't been in a long time and I've just come away completely heartbroken. Why can't they just leave Hannah alone??
I'm sick of them making jokes about her being so small. Its not her fault. Yes, she was 6 weeks early (which they all seem to forget!) but she only measured at 30 weeks when she was born. So she was 10 weeks behind in size!
"Aren't you ever going to grow"
"Thought you'd be bigger by now!"
"She's just so small compared to 'Baby E' (who is 1 day older)"
Or comparing Hannah's size to my niece who is 2 months older. Hannah was my neices birth weight at nearly 3 months.
I don't mind these comments, its when its said in such a hurtful way that it makes me feel like a poor mother who can't make her child grow as fast as people want her to.
I keep saying that its part of her condition, babies with Gastroschisis are small for quite a few years before catching up.
Hannah's not going to grow overnight. She'll probably be small for her age right up until she goes to school.
Vent over for now. Be back later for an update on what we've been up to.
Happy half birthday!
Ah, sorry that's getting you down charlotte. Sometimes people just say things without really thinking. From what you describe though, and given her starting point and condition, it sounds to me that she's doing remarkably well. I must admit that I often make those sorts of comments  I'm never trying to be mean though (can't speak for those women in your playgroup mind you). Only compared to my DS most other people's kids are really big, so it's the other way round  It is a pretty dumb thing to say though, isn't it? As if you wouldn't have noticed she was small.
Charlotte, people do say things without thinking, I use to get soo angry at people when they use to comment on the twins eg are they twins, are they identical ummm yes and boy and girl can not be identical, Inside I would be ###### but I would just smile. Don't let it get you down.
Well we have had a great couple of days only that Mr Charlie boy dosen't want to go to bed and I do so who's going to win ME..........
Cathie
 still love the identical question
Ahhhh Charlotte  as long as she's meeting her milestones, you sprout proud mamma at them
Ummm formula - yeah, there's no advantage of moving to the toddler or 6-mth formulas at all (my MCHN told me that!). Funny for me - went out shopping with Mum today (they're visiting from Brissie) and Will had been woken by Pip jumping on him. Now mum isn't into BFing, and so far today Pip had told her all the foods out there, finishing with "and mummy's breastmilk for William!" - Mum generally looks up at the ceiling when I feed him ... we were at the Obrama Chocolate Lounge having a hot drink and Will was restless, so I put him on the boob - mum looks to the table at the left - there's a very young (2 weeks? maybe?) baby there snacking down on booby juice. Looks to the right - an older bub snacking down ... gave up and paid full attention to Pip!!!
So Will is not only rolling from back to front to back to front, but also starting the commando crawl. :omg: Gave him some sweet potato today, not impressed. might leave it a bit longer.
Jules - that's a decent trip, hope you're holding up ok.
bed time here. night all.
