Good to see you back here Dani...hope you have a quick and relatively painless recovery!
YAYYY...although Maddy only had a single cycle sleep (45mins - until she pivotted around and smacked her head into the wooden rails which resulted in mucho screaming and nice red marks on her noggin), I managed to put on 2 loads of wash, eat lunch and cycle my 10kms on my exercise bike. Very impressed with myself.
How are all of your days going?
P.S - Dani, I hope you told your DH that because you spent your Mother's Day in hospital after surgery, you're gonna be able to redeem your Mother's Day full of spoiling at a later date?!
-
WElcome back Dani! What a shocker for you, hope you recover quickly.
How's everyone else doing? We're ok, still having night waking problems, just don't know what went wrong there!! We've had poo, so that's exciting! Nothing major, but better than nothing.
Im totally exhausted, still suffering from a late saturday night. Going to head to bed in a minute. I usually end up in bed at 8pm these days, and wake up about 100 times a night!! Ah, the joys!
Hope everyone's had a good day. I tried coco on banana this morning, she wasn't too impressed but Im trying again tomorrow.
Here's hoping for a good nights sleep for everyone xoxo
-
hi all!!
hope you all had a great mothers day!!mine was lovely..got spoilt with a massage at the start of the day(9.30) and also the bamix stick mixer that i had asked for..so was lovely..spent the rest of the day with the in-laws(who only went home today) so was pretty knackered but we spent all saturday with my folks so i guess it balances out..but am pretty worn out..Owen slept through last night!!!From 7.30-6am..and would've proably slept longer too except bens alarm woke him up and when i went in to get him i put his dummy in and he was going to go back to sleep but i got him up for a feed coz my bbs were about to burst..i was so full i was in agony!!!
You all sound like you had a nice day on sunday(except Danni..get well soon!!!) Talk soon, i have to go and clean the kitchen, we've got a real estate agent coming to pics of our kitchen tomorrow.the owners are selling and as a result we have to let people look through all the time..ugh!!
xx
also i tried Owen on broccoli this morn..he was not impressed at all..but like Meg with Coco, he will be having it again tomorrow so i'm sure he'll get used to it!!!
-
*LMAO* @ the broccoli reaction Christie! Here's hoping that Owen has a change of opinion tomorrow. hehe Way to go on the great sleep overnight Master Owen!
Miss Madeline is asleep in her bassinet so hopefully she'll have a sleep like last night...8pm through til 2am and then asleep til 6am when Daddy gets up for work.
Meg, hope you have a good night's sleep and you manage to get plenty of rest. Interesting that Coco doesn't like banana but perhaps that's a good thing for the purse strings with bananas being anything but cheap at the moment!
P.S - Second night in a row that Maddy has gone down for the night at 8pm after a long feed! YAYYYYYYY!!! :)
-
Hi :hello:
Hope everyone is well and all your babies are well too!
Just quickly, for those of you on solids, can you tell me have you reduced the feeds of milk? The solids I feed Jasmine (that she totally gobbles up like I cant believe) dont seem to make much difference to her appetite and I still feed her the same amount of formula. I dont want to be over feeding her, so should I feed her a smaller bottle after she has a serve of solids, or should I feed her a tiny bit more solids (say an extra teaspoon) and then see if she is still interested in an entire bottle? Im so sure she could easily eat more solids, she gets so frustrated when Im not quick enough to put the spoon in her already open mouth lol and seems agitated when there is no more?
Im going to see the MCHN this week, but thought I would ask you guys first to see if your babies are feeding any differently, even if I am feeding formula and you guys breastmilk.
Thanks
wow its 4am! wtf am I doing up LOL
Oh changed my ticker too, so Ive changed both my name and my ticker!!
-
Hi guys, I was the odd one out so I changed my ticker!!
Kate, I have not dropped any feeds, although sometimes after dinner when I give her a comp bottle before bed, she won't drink as much..sometimes. I also offer more breastfeeds as I think she might be thirsty.
Once you're doing three feeds a day, you will only need to give 3-5 feeds a day, so they will drop then.
talk soon xo
-
Ooh...like the new tickers girls! Hope you all had a great night's sleep.
Better run for now, Miss Maddy is having a cry for a feed!
BBL...
-
Coco slept 7pm-3am then had feed, and then slept until she got up at 5.38....bit early!! Driving me nuts! At her feed she seemed to have tummy pain, so guess I have to still work on that. I give prune juice after each solids feed. Today she liked banana!!!!!!!!! YEY! She didn't like it as much as pumpkin, but she did so much better than yesterday. Very happy!
Im trying to decide if I should give her a teething rusk. Has anyone else done so? Dani, I think you gave Jett one didn't you? Sorry if Im off track, still have this baby brain thing happening!
Beck, hope you had a good night. We need our babies to start doing full nights I think!!!
Kate, what WERE you doing up at 4am? You crack me up!
xoxo
-
Nope, no good night's sleep here. Well, sort of. I was just stupid enough not to go to bed til almost midnight.
Maddy slept 8pm through til basically midnight. As I walked into the room she woke up for a feed. *sigh* Then she fed off and on through til 7:30am when she insisted I get out of bed because she didn't like chatting to herself all that much. *L*
Meg, great to hear that Coco enjoyed the banana more than she did on her first try yesterday! Your night sounds better than mine, but yes, it would be nice if our little girls decided to let us sleep.
-
Good morning everyone!!:)
Meg how was the wedding on Saturday, I had a wedding a couple of weeks ago and it took quite a few days to get over it (think it might have had something to do with all the red wine I had) Thanks so very much for all your input on the solids, when I saw the health nurse my usual one was that there and the one I saw was not overly helpful!! I would love for you to email that routine that you got. I was thinking the same in regard to the rusks; yea I am going to give Hannah one...
Beck, some companies spin me out, they wonder why they can’t keep good staff!! There is something bigger and better for your DH. When are you planning on going back to dancing? It’s so good to hear that you are getting a big nap in the morning; my baby girl is a big catnapper!!
Kate what are you doing up at that hour???? Sounds like you had a great mother’s day! I have to agree I can’t believe that I celebrated mother’s day and I was the actual MOTHER!!!! At the moment Hannah is still on the same feeds...
Danni Get well soon!! They don’t mess around!! They get you out so quick!!! Enjoy being pampered for the next couple of weeks.
Sarajo hope Abby like the sweet potato!!! I am going to email you shortly so that you can send me the video!
Christie, Bummer on the house being sold... sounds like you have had a busy time!!
Gotta run XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
-
Hey All,
What is with the BB time??? I wonder is it wrong???
Anyway, Yes Meg I have given Jett a rusk and he likes them cause he can now work out how to get it in his mouth, I normally give it to him when he is feral/grumpy:crying: cause it takes his mind off it...
I tried him on the sippy cup he wasn't to keen on it, he is holding his own ottles now so I might just keep with that for this month.
Not good news about the girls not sleeping, ever since I have come back from the hospital Jett has been going down at about 8pm and getting up about 7am, not to sure why he is being so good but I am sure he will try a curve ball and start waking again.
The only thing that I have done is to wrap him in a cot sheet and put a toy in with him.
Not to sure why my DH Ben is home from work helping me as he is still having a sleep in now...
Men!!!!
-
Rach, I can't really go back to Irish dancing until I get my licence. I probably only need a handful of lessons (going to book my first one for Friday this week), so I'm aiming for 8wks from now. Otherwise, it's too much to expect my DH to come home from work, turn around and drive me 20mins to dancing and watch Maddy before coming to pick me up 2hrs later.
Your Mother's Day sounds like it went well...it truly was very trippy finally being a Mommy wasn't it?! :)
With regards to DH & the job. Well, they've postponed giving him a decision for the 2nd day in a row so DH has got the message that they're just trying to stall for time. They took 2 WEEKS last time to agree to giving him the $5,000 pay rise he needed and that was just taking his pay from the probationary $30,000 they originally gave him. When he did the 3 months probation they then offered him a $2,000 pay rise. I was so insulted for him! :(
Dani, with regards to the time on the BB pages. You need to alter your time zone which is in your settings in your 'user profile' at the top of the page. :) HTHs!
-
Hey Becka,
That would be hard having no wheels to get around, hopefully you pass with flying colors when you get tested, I pray you do:pray:
Second time for soilds and all is good, I will give another round of them again tonight.
I try to avoid a late night as much as I can, gone are the days when you could have a few wines and sleep them off till the mid morning, now I just opt to have on on Thursday arvo when our mother's group gets together, we all enjoy the thursday arvo glass, some have more but I just stick to the one...
Lets hope all of the buba's have a good sleep today and tonight for us,
I am not sure if I have told you about this sleep/cry thing the hospital gave me, it is just a table that you keep track of sleeping/eating and crying let me know and I can email you one it is helping me see a pattern emerging...
-
Firstly beck, sorry about DH's job, hope it all turns out well. mind you, sounds like my DH, it was a better option for him to leave the last job, and even though we had 8 tough weeks (and still suffering from that) he has a better job now with far greater prospects.
Rach, the wedding was lovely. Too many red wines for me too. Just luckily I had double the amount of water, so wasnt' too bad. It was the wedding of an old school friend of mine, and it was very romantic and lovely.
Damn rubbish truck just picked up bottles, gaurantee Coco is awake. She's had 1.5 hours though.
gotta run, going to lunch wiht DH today for his b'day. MIL is coming over here first so better get house in order xoxo
Will write out teh routine and send it to whoever is interested. i will only follow it loosely but it's interesting. xo
-
:hello:
Thanks Shannon, Rach & Meg for your help! I thought it was ok, but I wasnt sure so thankyou. I guess what I wont be doing is increasing Jasmines milk intake at this stage and therefore the solids would make up for that.
I have no idea how come I was awake last night LOL I think going out on the weekend might have stuffed up my bodyclock. I dont drink alcohol ever but on Saturday night I had 2 glasses of champagne so maybe that shook up my body or something!! Im actually ok though, got up at 10am and I feel fairly awake!
I just booked Jasmine in to get her photos done at Bubsincharacter! Im very excited. They said to give her a couple of extra weeks because at her age they prefer for her to be sitting up. She can kind of sit up on her own, but give her about 30 seconds and she is falling over, either sideways or forwards. She just gets distracted LOL! Anyway thats very exciting for me, I cant wait.
Beck, sorry about DH's job. Some companies just dont know what theyve got and then they wonder why they cant keep good staff and their turnover is so high? Good Luck with getting your licence! Thats great you will be getting back into your dancing. The picture of you that I always have in my head is the one where you were in your dancing costume and you were mid-air. (About 2 metres off the ground too!!!) Looks like alot of fun!
ChristieWhat a bummer about the house. Having people through all the time must be awful. On the bright side, atleast the interest rates went up, so it probably wont be sold too quickly LOL! Sounds like you had a great mothers day! A bamix is a really good idea to have when it comes to mixing up solids for Owen too!
Rach YAY for Hannah being a bit catnapper! I know what you mean about the not helpful MCHN's. I have had to change the place where I go altogether because they put Miss "I have no kids but I know everything:rolleyes: " incharge at the one I used to take Jasmine to, so Im going to the new one this week.
MegHow is Tims new job going? Love your new ticker now I can see gorgeous Coco!! I give Jasmine rusks. She loves them and she holds them herself and even though at first she didnt make much mess with them, now she is forever pulling bits off with her teeth ( I think she has realised now what teeth do). Usually what I do is when it starts to go soft, I give her another one. I just position them in her hand so most of it is in her palm or down the bottom of her hand because when she gets too much at the top she sticks it in her throat and is not impressed!
Dani WOW they sure did get you home early! Im glad your DH is there to help you out, even though he may think its a bit of a holiday where he can sleep in!!! Id be waking him up and reminding him if I was you. You just had an operation where they took out part of your body! I hope you recover very fast. Ive had my appendix out and its not nice. I was too scared to laugh or cough or sneeze for a few weeks thinking my side was going to just burst open LOL!
Sarajo, Tiggy, Clare & Melly Hope you are all well and so are all of your little ones!
Have a great day everyone. Im off to go and checkout some highchairs. I am not going to buy one, Im only going to look, I promise....... maybe:thumbsup: lol
-
Kate,
Ivy and Noah had their newborn photos taken at Bubsincharacter and I love them. You will be so pleased!
I'm planning on having another lot done for my birthday, in September. Hopefully Ivy and Noah will be sitting up by then.
I am VERY picky about photos and I can honestly say I was vewry happy.
Good Luck and would LOVE to see them when you get them back!
-
Hi guys just jumped on quickly to read our old posts...
Will catch up with you guys later..
-
Grrr....Maddy will not sleep and she keeps crying. Wonder if her teeth are hurting her....better go, we've escalated to bright pink screaming fit!
-
Just came back from Yum Cha!! Was sooo delicious. Went with MIL, BIL and DH and of course Coco. She was entertained the entire time with a rusk!! She just loved it. She had bits all over her face. It's a winner and think I'll be getting them out more often!! She then polished off her bottle of prune juice! She had a great time!
Kate, Tim is enjoying his job!! haven't reallly had heaps of time to talk to him as he's always at uni or doing uni work, so not sure if he's goingto achieve any commission, but he seems to like itmore than the other job!! It's a good company and nice that his bro works there too!
MIL is going to Davinci code on thurs night, her church is buying out the session. Anyway she asked tim and I and I said thanks but its at 6.30pm, peak hour. Anyway Tim says sure and I was sooo annoyed. He has uni monday and tuesday nights and works late wednesday. I have organised to make him b'day dinner and have my bro over, AND I have two children who both go insane after 5pm!! (only as of last few days Coco will just not be happy on her own. I have to be with her and it's driving me nuts). So feeding, bath making dinners etc is really hard without him and Im looking forward to having him help on thurs. Honestly so inconsiderate. I'd probably feel a bit different if he got me a MOTHERS DAY PRESENT!! I just hate feeling unappreciated. He does not acknowledge how hard it is for me at the moment.
Anyway, enough whinge. I've already posted a whinge in the boo hoo section!
will stop boring you all now! xxoox
-
Hey Beck hope Maddy went down for you!!!!
Kate cant what to see the photos of Jasmine oncee they are done!!! We just bought a stroller on the weekend and a baby swing (which i have to say is way too cool.) So the next buy is a highchair, let us know if you get one..
Tiggy, how are you there?? hope everything is going well for you!!!
Danni MEN!!!!(need i say anymore)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meg, good to hear Yum Cha was yummy!!!Yay to hear that Coco loved the rusk. when we are out Hannah is such a little social butterful!!Have you read the book yet? I hear what you are saying about needing help and support at that hour of the night. I find it full on and plus you have Tilly as well. I find at the end of the day i just need a little bit of a break (even its just to cook dinner)
I am so very sorry if i have missed people....
-
Ok...*pulls up a seat*
We have a builder coming over in 2 hours to give us a quote on how much to turn the double garage into a granny flat. The P-I-Ls want to come home every so often so they're paying to have it built in so that they can have us stay on in their house. That way they're not stuck in one spot, but still have somewhere to stay when they do come home.
Pretty pleased with myself...despite the fact that Maddy has NOT gone down for a nap today (she's going to be such a terror tonight I can tell but we've had two screaming fits so I've just gotten her up and left her in her pram with her toys)...have hung out a 2nd load of wash, folded yesterday's wash, went through all of Maddy's clothes and put together a selection of her 000 clothing for sale on Ebay, put the sweet potato & spinach frittata for dinner in the oven (recipe from the BB recipe section), answered a phone call from John when his computer at work blew up - he lost 2 full days worth of work and needed me to allow the connection to his home computer so he could FTP his documents across; and sorted the mail. :)
Didn't get to do my whole 10kms on the exercise bike today as Maddy won't sleep, but I did sneak in 5kms (will do the other 5kms tonight) and eat a sandwich. Scared if I sit down I won't get up! *LOL*
Meg - MMMMMM...very jealous of your Yum Cha lunch! Hope DH is having a fantastic birthday but he's very naughty for not giving you a Mother's Day present! :( Glad to hear about Coco though...prune juice & her teething rusk, she probably thought it was party time! :)
Rach - how is Hannah doing? Did she have any reaction to the needles last week? Hope she's doing well! :)
-
Hey Beck that sounds wonderful!! Are you wrapped about being able to stay in the house. You will have to keep us up to date with what’s happening!!!
Beck takes it easy!! Where did you find all that energy, please pass it down to me!! Na I must admit I have got heaps done the last couple of days!! Good on ya for doing 10km on the bike Beck!!!
Beck Hannah was a little unsettled for a couple of days but nothing like the first ones! Thank god!! I have been keeping a diary lately of all of Hannah’s feeds and I could see a pattern forming. Hannah was waking at 12.00 and 3.00 for a feed every night. When Hannah woke up at 12.00 I resettled her (it took 15 minutes) and then she woke up 7.15 so tonight I will try that again.
Beck do you live anywhere near Bellbowrie??
-
Bellbowrie is about 20mins from my house I understand. Why's that Rach?
Good to hear that Hannah is doing well after the needles...WTG on the resettling routine last night. Will have to try that myself, although its hard to be so disciplined when its easier on a tired Mummy just to pop her on the boob.
Just finished my 10kms so I can relax when John gets home. :) Im finding I have much more energy now that I am eating relatively healthy & exercising daily.
Man, Maddy is driving me insane. She is so clingy today! I just ran my finger over her gums and there are still no toothy pegs but she howled. Now I feel like a bad Mummy! :(
-
I am coming up to queensland in august, we are staying in the Gold Coast for 5 days and then catching up with a friend who lives in bellbowrie, so maybe we can catch up while i am there!!
AH beck i am with you there It is so much easier to put on the breast but i really want to shake this habit, she is waking for total comfort!!
sorry hannah is chucking a fit!!!
-
Hi girls,
Bec, sorry to hear that you and Maddy are having a bad day. to you. Hope tomorrow is better.
Hi Rach, thanks for asking after us;
Sadly I am weaning Ivy...or should I say she is weaning herself. I'm so sad but I want to do what is best for her.:(
Noah has started on solids after alot of umming and arring over the premmie thing (being only 3.5 months corrected) but he is cutting back on his formula and has been watching us eat all the time.
I tried him with farex and he hasn't looked back. He's had banana and farex for the last three days.
Me, I have a touch of PND. Have had it with all of my babies, so know the drill.
:hello: to everyone else.
-
Hi Tiff/Girlz,
I am glad(not glad) that you know about PND, I have been put on medication after speaking with the PND social worker at my hospital,It has been 5mths since baby Jett has came into this world and I look back now and think maybe I should have spoke to the PND worker sooner, I only started taking my medication last tuesday so it is going to take a few weeks to kick in..
Tiff does it get easier???
Sometimes it feels that the whole world is on your shoudlers then other days it is fantastic...
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't change things for all the tea in china..
But...
Anyway, bad sleeping day for Jett today!!!
Tomorrow can only get better...:p
-
Hi Dani,
It does get easier. It will take a while and there will be many ups and downs...days when you feel you can't cope, days when you feel inadequate as a mother and as a wife. You are right, you would never change having your beautiful baby but some days just feel so hard. I think with my others (and with these guys) it kicked in around the 5 month mark. With the big twins, it took a while to get on top of it, firstly because I didn't admit to anyone that I wasn't coping, secondly because I didn't really know that what I was feeling was PND. I was horrified with the feelings that I had, especailly when I really wanted my babies. I think I started feeling better when the girls were about twelve months. With Lily, I knew those feelings were starting up again and so I chose to take an antidepressant. I cruised through until she was about nine months, when I decided I wanted to stop the medication. THere were still days where I felt really bad, sad, even suicidal but it felt easier by the time Lily was 1 year old. Parenthood is so hard, Dani. If it's one thing I learnt, it's that you have to be kind to yourself. One midwife said to me that the day you become a Mum, it's like someone hangs a big "G" for guilt around your neck. It is so true, that motherguilt can just bowl you over some days.
The medication will help you to find a balance. I've done PND with and without medication. At the moment, I'm trying to go without, trying to work through my feelings...I'll let you know how things go with that. Alot of it for me is about losing myself. About being so busy you are run off your feet but the routine is so...repetitive. Somedays, I feel very overwhelmed
Let me know how you are going. The best thing is talking about your feelings with others and knowing that you are not going it alone. 1 in 8 women in Australia have PND in some form.
Take care hun, I'll talk to you anytime you want. You are definately not in this alone.
-
Thanks Tiff,
I am taking a mild medication, all of those things that you described is exactly how I was feeling, I am so happy that I can chat to you as non of my mother's group mummy's have experienced it,
Anyway have a good night all
Off to watch All Saints
BYE:hello:
-
Hi yall! It feels like it has been ages since I have been on, but it has only been a couple of days! I have a lot of posts to catch up on!
Sweet potatoes were a huge success! :) Yummy yummy!
Tomorrow we'll try peas I think!
Dani, you poor thing, going through so much! I hope the meds help with your PND. You are a great mother, it shows in Jetts smile!
I was happy to hear coco finally had a poo! Yay Coco! lol
Beck I hope Maddy has a less clingy day today! Abby is clingy every couple of days too...just wont let me get ANYTHING done!
Rach glad to hear Hannah is doing a little better, I hope it continues to improve! :)
Kate thanks for your email...I sent you the Abby video! :) Hope you are well!
Mothers day was wonderful! We went out the night before for some dinner and dancing, and they had a live band that played "my girl" for Abby! Then on mothers day don made breakfast and then we went and got Abbys ears pierced! She cried for maybe 20 seconds! What a bigh brave girl!! I cant wait to show yall pics! I;ll let you know when I put them on her site! Then I got a haircut and watched survivor. IT was a wonderful stress free day!
Well, gotta run, lunch is beepin! I hope I didnt miss anyone!
Oh is Leanne going back to work so we can chat with her again?
-
Wow, I can't believe it's almost time for Leanne to go back to work. Where has the time gone? Maybe she'll decide not to? Was she having 6 months off?
Absolute crappola night. Coco was awake on and off from 11pm and was up for at least half the night. I am absolutely exhausted and not feeling very happy today!!
Dani, sorry to hear about your PND. There were a few people concerned for me as I have had depression before, but I think Im doing ok. I am up and down but I think that comes with the territory. If I slept better I am so sure I'd be happier!! Mind you, Im doing ok considering we're stuck in a matchbox of a house with four of us, and hubby and I swap beds EVERY night doing shifts. It sux.
Anyway, Im glad you've got support here, belly belly is great for that! Good on you for being pro active, and Sarajo right, Jett looks so happy so you are doing alot right!!
I am too tired to think. Better go. Hope everyone had a good sleep. Better than ours anyway. I am taking Coco off rice cereal, Im sure it's clogging her up. xoxoxo
-
Poor Coco is constipated. So much for the poo!! I have found a great website and it has advised to cut out the cereal, which is exactly what I had planned to do from today. It said to increase the fruit and veg, so I will be giving her a big dinner of pumpkin, sweet pot and zuchinni. She had that last night and loved it. Just won't be giving her breakky for a few days, poor sausage. She did one tiny pelet today and was awake grunting half the night. At least I know what to do now.
I am wary of trying sugar in water, so will see how we go with no cereal. I also give her lots of prune juice. Think I'll buy some pear and banana in the tin today for lunch.
hope eveeryone's going well. Beck, how did Maddy go last night?
l
-
Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone had an okay night last night...
I think that the sweet potato is a hit for all babies, I made up a batch of it last night (I freeze a weeks worth of it which saves me from doing it every night, which is great if a am running out of time and Jett is hungry). I think I will try the sweet potato for 2 weeks and then add something else to it. Any suggestions???
Hey Meg,
Poor Coco!!!:(
Try the brown sugar,
I swear by it, you will see results and it isn't harmful for them...
-
Hey ladies...we had a relatively good night. If Id gone to bed when Maddy did at 9:30pm, it would have been even better! She slept until 3am and then nuzzled around at the boob for a couple of hours just grazing. Put her on her belly beside me when DH left at 6:30am ands fell asleep. Woke back up an hour later when DH rang from work needing me to FTP some documents tyo his work computer.
Sorry to hear about your rough night with Coco, Meg and that she is constipated. I truly hope that taking out the rice cereal helps the situation! :) You are handling the situation with the unit, no space and little sleep SO well!
You are very organised there Dani! :) How's the operation scar healing? Im not sure about Maddy & sweet potato as she's not on solids yet but I guess she got it 2nd-hand cause my sweet potato & spinach frittata was sooooo yummy! *L* Have you tried Jett with pumpkin yet?
Sarajo, cant wait to see photos of little Abby with her ears pierced. Glad to hear she didnt scream or cry for very long at all :) Sounds like you also had a lovely relaxed Mothers Day, just like you deserve. What else is happening in your neck of the woods?
Tiggy, I am so impressed with your strength. Its hard enough having one baby at time and trying to deal with the resulting emotions & hormones on top of being so busy being a mother and a wife. But to have other kids & the newest being twins is so tough! WTG on being so proactive with dealing with your feelings and PND. The twins are sssooo gorgeous! :)
Rach, we'd LOVE to catch up with you when you're in Brisbane. Maybe we can organise another Qld meet-up then so you can meet some more of the troops! Hope you & Hannah had a good night last night.
Not sure about Leanne...Im probably wrong but I thought she quit her job? Again, Im probably wrong! Maybe someone can SMS her and find out how she and Drew are going.
Also thinking of you Clare, Melly, Kate & Jillian!
-
Thanks Bec ! You brought a smile to my face and lifeted my spirits!
-
Beck, you're right, she did quit. My baby brain is a shocker. Wish she'd get a computer!!!
Tiggy, I totally agree with Beck, you're AMAZING!!! I am inspired by what you do, I barely cope with two!!
Dani, we went from sweet potato after three days to sweet potato and pumpkin, and now I also add zuchinni. You could try pumpkin by itself for a day or two, then mix them together. I figured Coco was getting bored.
Beck, glad you had a reasonable night. It's always the way though, if you don't go to bed when they do, they will wake up earlier!! I try to get to bed at 8pm (I know very sad) but after last nights effort, it's the only way I can cope.
I have written out teh routine I mentioned and emailed it to KAte, Beck and Sarajo. I don't have anyone else's emails, so if you want a copy, just message me. It's more just some ideas for when bubs are on 3 meals, as when to feed and how much milk etc. I will not follow it (will get ideas from it though) and it's useful to refer to. Would love to be able to have ANY routine, but for all of us, there is alife outside of the home and we cant' be home 24 hours to settle and feed etc .
Coco is doing another marathon sleep this morning. Why can't she do it at night instead!!!

Can Maddy please have some of Coco's sleep vibes? After no daytime sleeps yesterday and a better than average night; I'm praying she'll go down for a nap today. Where has my good daytime sleeper gone? She was SO cranky yesterday and so clingy when John got home work, he didn't want a bar of him. When he was holding her so I could inhale dinner she kept reaching for me and god forbid I should go do the dishes...he had to bring her over to stand by me! Yikes...
No problem Tiggy...I just wanted you to know how amazing I think you are! My mother had 5 kids (I was 2nd eldest) and the youngest were twin boys. My parents separated for 6 months when the twinnies were 3 months old. I was only 7 at the time, but I remember how difficult it was for her to be everything everyone expected her to be.
Meg, thanks for the email! As soon as Maddy turns 6 months, I'll be starting her on rice cereal (I have two boxes) and then I'll start introducing vegetables with fruit last. I'm gonna stock up on ice trays so whenever I cook vegies, I'll do it like Dani has and make a few days' worth. Then I can just pop out a few cubes of frozen vegies and defrost in the microwave. (Just like those Mother's Choice vegie cubes which they charge like $7 for a box of!)
Well Maddy's still not asleep but at least I've done my 10kms on the bike! :)
Oh for god's sake...they're going on about Britney Spears endangering Sean Preston by driving with him facing forwards. Now Maddy is almost 5 months and about 6.5kgs; according to my carseat I 'could' face her forwards from 8kgs onwards. Sean is 8 months old; and yes, it is preferable to face your baby backwards as long as possible but give the girl a break! (I will point out the photo proof looks scarey as he is slumped forward asleep in his seat)
P.S - Thank GOD, she's finally put her head down on her blanket and is drifting off to sleep. Now if the phone would just NOT ring for three hours that would be great!

Hi guys, just a quick catch up! I did a long post this morning and for some reason it didnt post.
Tiggy I am in line with Both Beck and Meg, I think you are amazing!!!!
Beck, Cool on Maddy's better night.I am finding i am not sleeping that great the last couple of night because i am just waiting for Hannah to wake up!! Hannah only woke up at 3.00 and then at 7.15. How did it go with the builder??
Meg, here's hoping that taking out the rice cereal out of Coco's diet will help!! I will message you with my email add. Here's hoping for a better night!!!

We'll see you when you get back from Mother's group Rach, hope you have fun!
The builder went well...really nice guy (really hot actually! *L*) and very friendly and open about everything. We emailed him the draft plan of the layout so we should get a quote in the next few weeks. We have another guy coming tomorrow afternoon at 4:30pm.
Grrrrrr @ John's work. They've put him off since Friday about discussing his very much needed pay rise. Now they've finally got back to him and said they're 'considering' it but won't be able to confirm until 31st July AFTER the program John's been working on has launched. If it brings in work they'll give it to him. But basically, they haven't offered or guaranteed him ANY pay rise. So we could be sitting here at the start of August in exactly the same money situation; plus we won't be going to NZ now because we can't afford it. *sigh* I don't mind too much about the trip but still.... Honestly, I just want him to leave and get a well paying job.

Ooohhh...I have 1 bidder so far on my big box of 000 clothing from Maddy. Starting price was $30 (plus postage) so at least I can afford to buy her something new from Pumpkin Patch for winter! :) (I'm hoping a few people get stuck into it and the price goes up!)
