Nic, I am soooo very jealous about your new mattress. What I wouldn't give. ATM sleeping on my lounge is more comfortable than my bed. I fell to sleep on the lounge with Abbey watching FNL so didn't see who won. DP normally watches NRL on tv Friday nights so back to the fighting over the box.
Alicia, wtg on all your renos. Good to hear that Olivia went down alot easier today for you. Sure does help for a less stressful night when they go to bed easy.
LoriRae, sorry to read that little Ty is sick. Poor little man. I have PMed you some links to read re immunisation. I think you will find it has a more detailed read than the government sites where they only tell you the stuff a GP would tell you too. Oh and no your child cannot be refused to go to daycare etc. What you have to do is get a Concientious Objection form from either your GP or Medicare office and have it filled in and submitted. To not accept your child is discrimination and it's a sueable offence :D
Up until a few days ago I was still wrapping Abbey but now she is in a sleeping bag so no real need, other than her poor freezing hands. Does anyone else's baby suffer with this in their gro bags ?
Carrie, good boy Gabe on sleeping better for mummy. Ohh I love the velour suits on bubs (little or no ironing too) I got some for Abbey on Thursday. Much warmer and they don't come untucked when you pick them up too.
Kids were all pretty good. Tehya fell to sleep first on the lounge. It wasn't even 7.30. Noah stayed awake longer and I fell to sleep with Abbey before the end of FNL. Why I am on here now is just stupid really. LOL. Best be off to bed again. Hope I can fall back to sleep now.
Have a great weekend everyone :D

You know seeing as I had a lovely new mattress to sleep on you would think I would have slept beautifully.. Between Olivia and Jacob I just about lost the plot last night.. WHY? Why do they do it.. and Jacob is still asleep. Poor Simon had to go to work today. I feel so bad for him as was getting up with Jacob too as he was just inconsolable at one stage,,
Although when I lay down it felt soooo good..
Trish: DO you have sleepzone down that away? They have a mattress clearance sale on.. This is a slumber land ortho zne pillow topped thingy ma jiggy hehe.. and under $700. We went to one shop and they were all well over the $1000 mark and I said no way am I spending that much.. My Inlaws spent $3000 on thier matress :O
Gos now I have forgotten whats on the other page...,,
someone asked about Bf and teeth.. I thought it would hurt and vowed to stop when Jacob got teeth but in the end it didn't hurt at all apart from the odd graze.. I fed Jake till he was 21 months and not once did he bite me. Not sure how olivia will go as she bites me now with just her gums so scared of her getting teeth lol....

LoriRae - How is Ty? Re your job. If you really don't want to give up your job then don't. Mother guilt can be so bad some times but really you are only doing a small amount and the time away would help you to regroup and come back a refreshed mummy. I regret not going back to work after Sara, only because I have lost all my confidence now and my brain is mush. In saying that I am back working with DH one day per week but I still have Loren with me. I am going to hit up one of the grandparents to take her once in a while so that I can actually get some work done.
I don't wrap Loren anymore, she hated it from birth. My SIL wrap her DS right up until he was around 9 months. If it is working for you then don't stop.
Nic - A good mattress makes life so much better. I hope you get a good night sleep soon.
Trish - Poor Abbey and being so sick. Sending her get better vibes
Carrie - WTG on the settling. I don't have much luck in this department, although I just managed to re-settle Loren for the first time in days:) Miss Lollie is such a huge catnapper and snacker. I am trying hard to extend her sleeps and get her to have a decent size bottle, but atm I can only get 120ml per feed and some times she is feeding every 2.5 hours..grrrr.
Alicia - You lucky girl getting a new kitchen. Don't worry about Olivia having the odd week of bad sleep, it usually is just a phase particulary if bub has been a good sleeper to start with. Just keep with the "routine" and she'll slide back into it so enough. Are you putting her in the or craddle still? She may want some more space.
My miss commando finds it appropriate to roll over in her sleep and practise crawling all over her cot!!! This really does not help with trying to get a good sleep out of her. I have resorted to using the anti roll cushion again. Lucky I did not lend it out to my friend yet.
I went shopping for a pair of pants for Loren's Christening. ATM I am in-between sizes and it is so hard to get a good fit. I am trying so hard to loose this weight but nothing is happening:( Anyways I have decided to wear an old skirt with my new top and buy a really good pair of shoes instead. If my butt can't look good at least my feet might:(
Oh yeah and I'll have to get a really chuncky necklace so that my guests will look at that and not my chunky bits.

Just popping in to ask a question :)
Even though I don't plan on starting solids anytime soon I was curious if I should give Olivia a cup to play with.. I would put boiled water in it. I usually start with the cup around the same time I start solids but was just curious what others do in regard to cups at this age? and what sort?
I like the new Tommee Tippee Range.. I bought those for jacob and they have smaller ones with handles now. (woolies)

Hi all,
Trish- Thanks for the immunisation stuff, I will have to get around to reading it all now... why did I not appreciate all that free time I had before I had a bub? Life is so busy now. Thanks for letting me know about the concietious objector form too- suprisingly enough, the immunisation handbook doesn't contain that piece of info... only says that your child will not be enrolled if they are not immunised. Oh and we get the freezing hand problem too- another reason why i wrap him up. A friend suggested mittens but they are all only in newborn size and the bigger they grow, the harder it is to find suits with mittens attached. I used to love putting Ty in a Wondersuit and popping the mittens on then watching him stare in confusion at his 'stumps', wondering where his fingers had gone :)
Nic- Ty gums me pretty hard too, hence the question about the teeth... grazed boobs sounds bad but can't be as bad as four stitches in the labia, right? (Positive thinking going on here!!) And re: the cup question, I started Ty with a cup from 4 months at the speech therapist recommendations, he has it with a little bit (about 30mls) of boiled water in it. But that's only been the last week, before that I was giving it to him with expressed milk, so maybe that's the way to go?
Bekz- Gotta love new shoes, they always make you feel like a million bucks no matter what else you're wearing. We have to get ourselves together enough to get up early on a Sunday and go to church so we can get Ty christened. And the mother guilt really is something isn't it? They don't warn you about it in antenatal classes! I wish I could say I come back more refreshed from work, but it actually exhausts me, which adds to my guilt. Sounds silly, but a little bit of it is superstition- I kind of think that because I work with sick kids, maybe it's building up my good karma and will protect Ty? Like I said, silly, but that's sticking in my head.
Not that it's working at the moment... back to the GP today and Ty has bronchilitis, poor little thing is still so sick. Spiked a bit of a tempreture tonight so I gave him some Panadol and popped him in bed early- the Panadol makes him so sleepy. The doc also recomended a vaporiser so we invested in one of those too. I'm not really a huge fan- I've always thought they were a bit unhygenic and could blow mould spores into the air, but I spose if I clean and dry it properly and air out the room during the day it won't hurt. And at this stage I'll try anything to help the poor little guy breath a bit easier.
Must go and tidy up my filthy house!!
-
Sorry, forgot to add-
Nic, we've actually been using a proper plastic cup instead of a sippy cup, again on recomendation of speech therapist.. makes it a bit time consuming as you have to sit and put it to their mouth so they don't pour it all over their head! Especially with breastmilk, it's so sticky... she said to graduate to sippy cup at six months.
-
thanks LoriRae.. I am thinking maybe Olivia doesn't have the co ordination for a cup. I think she would just chew on it anyways.
hehe About not appreciating all the free time.. I know exactly what you mean
and not sure on comparing nipples and labias lol.. I think nipples hurt more  Once they toughen up to it again I find it is fine.. To be honest I didn't have much trouble with JAcob when he got teeth..
-
LoriRae, your very welcome. Ummm labia or nipples. I'm going to go with nipples, as they have to be sucked on, and you can just tell DP to bugger off and stay away from the labia ;)
Did your Dr get a chest x ray on Ty, that's what Abbey's was for yesterday. Keep a close watch on him, bronchilitis can turn to pneumonia very fast. Tehya was sick with it at 12 weeks, and after goign back and forth to the Dr's for a week finally got another x ray and it had turned to pneumonia. She ended up in the kids hospital on a drip for a few days. On the upside of it though, it can actually be treated as it's bacterial whereas bronchilitis is viral so AB's do jack for it.
I fed all of my babies with teeth and yes I got chomped on my times than I care to remember, but tbh, by the time (most) of them had teeth they were old enough to understand a firm no and me putting boob away it generally is enough to deter them. Not looking forward to it with Abbey though as she's already a nipple chomper. Thankfully I can't feel her new tooth on the nipple just yet. I'm sure it will only be a few weeks though.
Nic, I never bothered with the cup. Breastfed babies don't need any other fluids other than breastmilk for quite some time. I figure she has enough years ahead of her using a cup. Can't afford $700 atm. Esp not after getting the new washing machine and tv. LOL. Which reminds me, I need to chase up the person that won my old washer on Ebay, she still hasn't sent the money through.
Bek, I'm sure you will look gorgeous huni. Besides, it's Loren's big day, all eyes will be on her. I went shopping in Crossroads for Abbey's baptism. Not where I'd normally shop but their sizes are alittle bigger and more accomodating esp after baby bodies and they really do have some nice stuff in there.
So damn tired, another crap night with Abbey. I know she's not well, and she's cutting teeth but aggghhhh, the midnight scream session has got to go. I suppose I am feeling it more as she has been such a good sleeper.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday. Make the most of the males being at home and off load all bubba's as much as possible ;) I say this as mine is in the lounge with the 3 little ones.
-
Morning Trish :) Hope those midnight screams stop.. they can be most annoying..
I had a decent night last night for a change. Olivia slept 8 till 4 then 4:30 till 7:30. I got up at 7 and had coffee and checked emails.. was nice :)
Olivia is very happy watching the boys play lego at the moment.. So cute. And Ethan was cuddling her this morning reading her a book... was so sweet except the book was on weaponary
Trish~ re cups. I know she doesn't need extra fluids I was just thinking more along the lines of an activity or getting used to it.. I am still thinking about it. I guess no harm in getting the cup and see how she likes it and if she doesn't just pop it in the fridge till she is ready
Hope that chick pays for the wasing machine soon.. Hey what do you think of this new thing on ebay? Can you still pay vua bank deposit or is all paypal no matter what??
-
Ohh I didn't really know too much about that Nic. What a PITA, why are they doing that ? and does paypal take a cut of it ?
Hey, no harm in getting Olivia used to holding or sucking on a cup.
Abbey was happily watching The wiggles while the kids coloured in and played duplo, must be the morning for it. Funny, Tehya was reading Abbey a book the other day too. PMSL at the book Ethan is reading to Olivia. Oh, she can be a little comando instead of a princess today.
-
nooooooooooooooooooooooo I want a princess.. I got 3 boofy boys I want a dainty little girl...
and for your next post where you tell me that aint gunna happen.. lalalalalalalalala I can't hear you ;)
childish? ME.. NEVER!!
-
PMSL Nic, I have Tehya, She was supposed to be my princess. Ever seen a princess that won't wear a bloody dress ?? I can only hope that Abbey will be my girl now.
Hmmm, perhaps if I run away with her now I can save her from being a tomboy too ;)
-
Run now Run away ;)
I put a dress on Olivia this morning that was made for her. It still doesn't quite fit.. She loves lifting her legs up, not great when trying to get pics hehe.
I'm bored today.. did my housework yesterday, sure there is always something to do but heck i'm having a day off..
-
Hi everyone
Jas08 - Friday would be fine, anytime after 9am is good for me. Im on msg these days so if you want to contact me thru that and i'll give my address etc.
Trish - I hope Abbeys bronchialitis is getting better , Alex had that and we had to give him steriod drops and ventolin (sp??) :(. Vicky has those freezing hands doesnt seem to bother her but hell it bothers me & my boobs during those lovely early morning feeds - instant pucker . Saw a new GP on the weekend for her 4 month check and she was more than happy to not vaccinate as she is convinced that her sons autism was caused by the MMR (back when the mercury was still in it).
LoriRae - How is Ty going with his bronchialitis :hugs: as i said before we've had it and it is horrible watching them struggling . We still wrap Vicky but do it from under the arms as she has to have them free to suck the thumb/fingers. You could try using little cotton socks as mittens.
Nic - Hope you enjoyed your "day off" i wish i was more organised and could get my housework done in a day takes about a week and then it starts all over again.
To everyone else hope you have a good long weekend and that the bubs are all being good and feeling well.
We went to my sis housewarming today, got there early in case the little ones misbehaved and was glad we did cause as everyone started turning up out came the cigs and noone made any effort to light up away from our kids...i mean DP smokes but never ever around the kids so we left real quick. grrr.
-
I enjoyed my day off ........ till midday  bleepin kids.. oh well. My night has been good. Olivia went to bed just after 6 but woke up a while ago and has justgone down again now.. how nice would it be if she slept thru... *gasp*
Hope everyone else has a good day..
-

oh and Happy 6 months!! Kayla :)
-
Hi everyone, been a long time is seems since i was last on here. sounds like i have missed out on alot. Ethan is cranky to say the least at the moment - wish the teeth would hurry up and come threw then i can have my bub back again. Rearanging the house again today for something to do. Took the boys to the bunnings mothers day clinic yesterday it was great fun and they made me fabric flowers. They look cute and are sitting in my car.
better run and see what mischief they are into now. try to catch up on the reading soon

Hi all,
Nic- Go Olivia, 7 hours... let's hope she makes a habit of it hey? We actually had a pretty good night here sleepwise.. Ty sleep from 11:30 till 7 and only woke once. Had him in the bed with me (kicked snoring DH out into the spare room, poor man) so just popped out the boob and we both went back to sleep. Not sure that's such a good thing but because I'm trying to get more feeds into him at the moment seeing as he's so sick...
Trish- I'm keeping an eye on his breathing. If it goes on longer than 10 days I'll take him back to the GP and ask for a chest x ray. Scary stuff. Just wish I could make it better :(
Morgan- great idea with the socks- why didn't i think of that? Did you have a long weekend in QLD? Lucky devils.
Jas- Howdy. Moves so quick in here doesn't it? Just do a skim through and then tell us what you're up to :)
So Ty is still sick and now I'm sick too. Blah. I thought mums weren't allowed to get sick??
On another note, how is it that DH can organize 20 unruly truckies everyday at work but cannot manage to hang out one load of washing while I'm at work??
