Well the ILs wasn't so bad after all. Maybe I even enjoyed it a little? Just a little. My MIL has made a huuuuge effort, and she still doesn't quite get it, but for the most part she was quite bearable. Nellie took three steps into her arms on Sunday, and then at the airport she kept jumping out of my arms to follow them. So she had an ace time.
But now I have soooo much washing to do and we have come home to a musty, damp revolting house full of gecko poo. Hmph.

Thanks EJ, yesterday was okay. Although people are staring not-so-surreptitiously at my tummy. Yes, nine weeks and I already have a visible bump. Millie was on fire when I picked her up from daycare, she walked over to me, more or less crawled into my arms, waved and said "bye bye" to everyone, and then babbled about her day til we got her home. She even ate tuna casserole for dinner which she has baulked at before! It was a long day though, the executive meeting went til 5 so I didn't get to pick her up til 5.45, at which point DH was getting off the train (I can see the station from the daycare centre!) so I picked him up too. It was nice to get home and have dinner together.

Just a quick one, all is well my way. Charlie is such a little devil, he throws tantrums every 2 seconds when he can't have something he wants. Oh well he will just have to get over it heheheh .He plays really well with the other kids, he just sits with them and watches what they are doing he has to be involved in everything, very cute.
He runs everywhere and he talks and talks and talks we have no idea what he is saying but at least he does.......
Hope everyone is well and that your all enjoying every moment with your little one's. Before you know it they will be turning 16 and getting there L"S OMG !!!!!!!

How are the boys Georgi? And the sewing? I haven't done any for a while, i really want to try and get back into it.
I finally feel like my normal self again after a holiday and a really busy few days as soon as we returned. I ended up getting some of DH's germs and felt pretty crappy this week. But Harper Barper must have realised that i really needed my sleep and the last two nights she's slept 9pm-5:30am and 7:30pm-5am. I sooo needed the sleep i got those two nights because i was feeling beyond tired for a bit there, i was exhausted.
So i've been working on Harper's sleep, still no feeding to sleep, some nights if she does wake are a challenge to get her back to sleep but i'm trying. She got her first tooth which was not noticable in anyway at all and was walking around freely in the water with the support of a blow up ring while we were away. We have seen her on a couple of occasions go from squating to standing on her own and tonight getting ready to hop in the bath she stood with her arms in the air while i took her clothes off. I suspect we may not be too far off. I just continue to be amazed at the communication with the boys. And being home has finally given her a chance to play independantly again, it was a little tricky not being able to let her crawl around.
So we're back into the full swing of things all our activities are back on this week so it's time to see how all these kinder sessions are going to fit in with the younger ones and their sleep.

MadB, hullo!
All good here, Millie has started on Flixotide (asthma preventer) and is doing well so far. We got the prescription in December from the paed, but she said to hold off and see how she went over summer... two months on I say: "what summer??!!" I think if it hadn't been so cold and wet we could have got by without it, but she has been so unwell and I know what it feels like not to have full lung capacity, so when the GP brought it up we agreed to try her on it.
She's loving daycare, although there's some new little ones and she is a bit jealous - apparently she was very miffed when Jess, her favourite carer, was cuddling one of the little ones... uh-oh. On the other hand, we met one of my best friends' new baby boy on Monday and was quite nice to him, so we'll see how she goes.
I'm hanging out to see The Face of Birth in March... organising to go with girls from my MG and as DH will be away I have already asked my sister to babysit Millie.
I'm so tired and brain dead - thinking of you all.

EJ - great work on the sleep. Sounds like you are doing awesome.
Eleanor signed "Help me" at dinner tonight when she couldn't spear her pumpkin with her fork. So cute, and so much nicer than the usual frustrated semi-meltdown. She also only had one sleep today, we've been having battles to get her down for her arvo sleep, but worst of all is getting her back to sleep after her 5am bird greeting, so we have dropped the arvo sleep all together for a day and we'll see how that goes. And the other cute thing is that she is shutting herself in the bathroom to do poos. She doesn't seem quite ready to do them on the potty, but clearly likes her privacy. Walking heaps, and it is just adorable.
Oh yeah, and we have 5 teeth now :D

Oh Audax, I love that she shuts herself in the bathroom to poo - what a classic! I need to start Millie using a fork, she still just uses her hands, which is fun but sooo messy at times.
DH was trying to give Millie her pre-bed bottle (the only one she has any more... sometimes... when she feels like it...) and I went to put her daycare clothes in to soak (wow she gets filthy!). She picked up her bottle and walked with it from the lounge room and into the laundry - her longest walk yet! She seems to prefer walking whilst holding something, it's funny.
Audax i love that the little lady wants her privacy. So funny and so cute.
Harper is quite regular first thing in the morning and after her little play in our bed this morning she removed herself to the lounge for a bit and came back smelling a treat. Why is this so incredibly gorgeous of our little ladies :lol:

I just had to go put Miri on the toilet. I heard her yelling so went to investigate and there she was pointing at the toilet quite insistently. She didn't mind that I left the door open for her though! That is cute :)
What a bunch of clever kids letting you all know that they want to go to the toilet.......... My kids have never been that clever hehehehehheheh

Man, no stopping my little girl at the moment - she barely crawled at all yesterday and hasn't yet today. Nice that I can put her in dresses without her getting cranky about them catching under her knees :) She's back in bed already this morning, got a slight temp and is a total cranky pants sooky lala - I don't mind, lots of cuddles. I did mind the constant wake ups last night though, it is getting really hard to manage fatigue, morning sickness and everything else. Something has to give... I vote work :)
Oh, we got a new (second hand) car! A 2007 Ford Focus. I luuurve it. Oh, the boot space! (This is an upgrade from a Corolla!)

Great news on the car PP! We have a Corolla. It is a street ornament at the moment, as it isn't running. We're not really missing it much, we can bike or PT everywhere these days. We were catching a ferry today, and Nellie needed to poo, so she crawled off to a corner, did her business and came back smelling unlike roses. :lol:
Also, yay for dresses! I can't wait, Nellie wore dresses all the time until she crawled, and I've made her a couple of short ones out of DH's old shirts, but I kind of want to use her size 1s before she grows out of them! Not quite walking enough yet, she still prefers the speed and certainty of crawling.
Nell spent a good chunk of yesterday arvo playing in the rain. She was having fun posting her peg into an upturned crate and then retrieving it. So much fun that she refused to come upstairs. So I said "OK, well I don't want to play in the rain, so I'm going upstairs. Would you like to come?" No. So I said "OK, well I'm going up now. Bye bye." She waved and said "Bay bay" and I went upstairs and had a cup of tea, and she just sat outside, playing with her pegs and occasionally eating her apple, in the middle of a storm :lol: Didn't miss me at all, and it was kind of refreshing, because she's been so clingy all her life

Hannah is such a ferret. She's been sleeping all night (that's the good bit) but she's feral during the day because she doesn't want to nap. It's really hard. She's got such an attitude. DON'T is her new favourite word, anytime I try and do something I get the 'hand out... DON'T! and crawl away as fast as I can". So frustrating.
Just a quick message, as I really gotta do some housework. Scan tomorrow at 1pm, I'm really nervous.
Contracts for the house still not in. Long story, it's part of a divorce settlement and it's complicated.
Bank texted me this morning and made me ring them ASAP. It was the fraud department and a massive SEVENTY EIGHT cents was taken out of the account to some place in America. It's called a 'trial transaction', if CBA hadn't picked it up the account would have been drained within hours/days. So, now all the money I've chucked in there for the scan and a romantic dinner for our anniversary is in lockdown and I won't be able to access it for 3-5 working days.
Really annoyed. HELLO STUPID AMERICAN!! WHAT THE HELL DID I EVER DO TO YOU!?!?!? Luckily DH has some money sitting in his account, but I don't think the romantic dinner is going to happen. :(

EJ, tummy is out of control. I was able to keep it a secret with Millie at work for ages, I think I told my faculty at 14 weeks and the kids/rest of the world at about 16. I have been harbouring a pudding belly for the past 4 weeks. I will tell my faculty on Tuesday at our meeting (at which point they will probably roll their eyes and say, duh, really?) and then the rest of the world can know. I need to call my aunties and tell them, I'm just so tired and unwell that I can't muster the energy for a big "hooray I'm pregnant" phone call.
Ah, Char, fraudsters! Glad the bank picked it up... and even more glad that Beez's scan went well xox
MadB, thanks for the backup there :) I asked DH last night if I could just quit work and stay home and sew, and he said, "Sure, if you can make some money out of it!"
Audax, pegs are AWESOME as far as Millie is concerned! She gets so excited when we go out to hang the laundry, I just give her a few from the bucket and she'll happily sit and play for ages!
New word: Poo. I was changing her nappy, giving her the usual running commentary, and the one word she picked up out of the whole narrative was 'poo'. Fabulous. I was carrying her down the hall with her nappy in the other hand, and she pointed at it and said 'poo'. Watched me flip it in to the loo: 'poo'. Saw me flush it, waved and said 'poo'. My clever girl :rofl:
We've had a baaaaad week. I know I shouldn't complain when she is generally such a good sleeper, but with her teeth and a bit of a cold on top of it, we have had very little sleep this week. I feel completely trashed. She has also been biting me a lot. I have a massive bruise on my arm from yesterday, we were at my niece's third birthday party at Maccas (oh dear lord, 18 kids in an unairconditioned room with an "I couldn't care less" Maccas party host) and I had to get her out from under a table, where she was trying to eat chips off the floor (eeeeew!). She latched onto my left arm and bit me so hard I have a bruise with distinct teeth marks in it.
I had a huge cry about it this morning, she was kicking me in the tummy while I was changing her nappy and pinching my hands, I called DH in to finish up and I just cried and cried. Part of it is obviously hormones (I also cried half an hour later when DH didn't say thank you when I gave him his cup of tea), but also it just hurts so much, physically and emotionally. And then of course when I was telling my Mum about it she said to bite or pinch her back!!! This from the woman who knows that biting me back didn't work on me when I was biting my sister!!!
Sorry about the vent - I'm sure it's just her teeth, last time she was biting and hitting me she stopped once her teeth came through, but if there's any advice please pass it on! When I tell her no she laughs! Is she too little for time out or something similar? I think I just need to be able to put her down and walk away so she knows it's not okay.

PP big huge hugs from me and lots of sympathy. You are going through that horrible stage in my view from all three of my pregnancies. I hate the first 3 months with a vengeance.
I went through a stage where Charlie was biting Aidan quite a bit and i was never one who could bite back. Aidan may have bit back once or twice but it definatley wasn't a soultion in my view. I remember talking to my Family Day carer back when Charlie was doing it and she said it is a way of showing their affections/feelings/frustations, an inapropriate way at that but they just need to know it's not the way and maybe show them other ways. With the little ones and biting, scratching, hiting as it's hard to get through that it's not the right thing to do i do put them down, walk away and or show them you are upset. I'm not sure of others opinions on that but i would say that she is a little young for time out :) So mixed with her limited ways of communicating andI those gums giving her grief i hope things settle soon. Charlie has grown out of it and so far with Harper i have felt a few little bites but she only has one tooth so it's not painful as yet.
Oh and i'm getting back into my sewing. I've just finished making the romper (one of the patterns i emailed you) and i've cut out a few bibs and i have a few friends with new arrivals on the way so i have a few more things in mind. I wonder if one at Kinder will give me more sewing time??
I think i want another baby girls. I can't stop thinking about it, with Aidan we had this feeling of wanting to have a baby, with Charlie it was similar but it was also about giving Aidan a brother or sister. With Harper she was a sweet surprise and as much as she has presented a few more challenges i have enjoyed her so much and just don't feel like i'm done. I don't want to be pregnant just yet but i don't want there to be too much of a gap compared to the average of what we already have. It may never happen i have some convincing to do on DH's side but i think i'm going to give it a go. I look at our family and feel there is meant to be one more of us.

They have no impulse control at this age PP. even though they understand what you're saying, if they want something, they want something. Removal and redirection are your best tools right now. But I'd also throw in explanation. Some people poo-poo explaining things to young children, but I think it's good. They do take it in and eventually, everything you do and say will be mirrored back at you :)

EJ, hope DH will come around for you! I completely understand wanting another. Even on "bad" weeks I can still see myself with four kids.
Thanks for your support with the biting etc. I never just say no, I explain that it hurts when she does x. This morning I picked her up (she WANTED to be picked up) and she grabbed a handful of my neck (no other way to describe it) and pinched me hard. I said, "OUCH, Millie, pinching hurts me!", put her down on her bottom and moved away. She laughed and crawled towards me and I said, "No, that hurt," and put her back on her bottom. She burst into tears and I crouched down in front of her and talked to her quietly for a bit about being gentle and not hurting people. She stopped crying and hopped up for a cuddle, and was good for the rest of the day... she had a good sleep last night so I'm sure that helped a lot. I believe in explaining things to her as well, she is a bright little kid and hey, if she can pick up "poo" from my running commentary on changing her nappy, she is certainly able to listen and take things in.
Anyway. I saw the obs today and Pud is coming along nicely - I've been bumped back into August, which is where I suspected I should be anyway. Millie was a very good girl playing in the waiting room and watching the funny squiggly thing on the screen during the scan :)
Ack, work tomorrow. Better go.

I've got my appt with the *new* OB today. *new* because I've had him when I went into labour at 28 weeks. Because there are only 3 OBs in the area (well, 2) sometimes it's pot luck who you have when you turn up in labour. Some women happen to have 2, some are too fast and just have the midwife. OB quiet spoken and smiles alot, but very nice. He's also Hannah's paed.
Hannah is getting her injections today just before I have my appt (in the same building). I've been in tears already this morning at the thought of it. Maybe thats the bad things about delaying it so long. You have extra time to think about it, Hannah's developed so much. I'm worried about her hating me. Thinking about taking a treat for her to eat when she gets out. My sister did that, she stuffed mini marshmallows in my niece's mouth. Not something I would do, but it worked for her. Might take some sultanas or buy a hot cross bun. She loves them! But she only gets a little piece.
Hannah bit me a few times yesterday. She immediately gets pulled off and the old "DO NOT BITE!" and taken across the room and sat down. She's not phased. Sometimes she'll cry, otherwise she'll just be really cute. She only really bites when she's happy or climbing (her new favourite activity.. why play with my toys when I can climb on the couch?)
That's all for the minute, I really have to go get ready to go to town later.
I really want to go to pancake day (Bit hard to ignore when it's held NEXT DOOR!). I might just stand on the back verandah and looking longingly at the CFA shed.
DH didn't want to go. I might make up some pancakes later..... wait. I've got no milk. Never mind. :rofl:
Our new word: Bamba (Grandma) We've just been in Sydney for four days, I don't think she crawled at all, she has really nailed the art of getting up after falling down, and she toddles everywhere, just for the fun of it. She loves couriering things around, so I give her things to deliver and she is very pleased with herself :) We had two absolutely dream flights down there and back, she's now had more flights than she has months of her life - 16 flights in 14 months! :redface: So no more flying for us for a while.
EJ - it's so lovely that you have enjoyed Harper so much. That's a beautiful thing to read.
I really have to go and unpack.
We just had a weekend of DH and the boys being away. It was a pretty crusiy weekend for Haper and I and a hot one too. Yesterday Harper slept 3hour in the am and another 2 in the afternoon!! This is absolutely unheard of when it comes to my little lady, she's never done it before. Then today she slept another 2 hours (only got one sleep in today).
So happy for her to have gotten some quality day sleeps. Even if it never happens again... as long as the boys are around anyway :lol: I am just resided to the fact that she is an incredibly light sleeper and once she has had the 40 min mark and hears the slightest noise she is up and no chance of getting anymore sleep out of her.
A bit too tired for personals right now ladies. Hope all is well and catch up soon xoox

Char, Millie is climbing too... and she claimed my hot cross bun the other day. I didn't think she'd like the spices in it, but noooo. No bun for Mummy.
EJ, huzzah for long day sleeps! I hope she develops a taste for them.
Millie is back to eating like a horse, which is nice. She'll try anything at the moment and is absolutely mad for fruit. Blueberry poos though... :o I took her to visit a friend's one month old today (*cluck cluck* - he's on the boob all day every day and is delightfully chubby!) and she kept pointing and saying "baby!" A step up from last time when she looked quizzically and said, "cat?" She had her hair in a hairclip for the first on the weekend as her hair is finally long enough to fall into her eyes - she LOVED it! Such a girlie girl.
I'll be leaving her for the first time overnight this Friday as I have to go to the school's executive conference. I am just not ready... at least she'll be with Daddy but I will miss bed time cuddles and morning smiles.

Hi girls all sounds pretty good, hope the little ones are healthy and well.
Harper had a weigh yesterday and she's now 8.3kg. So she's still qaining but she is on the 3rd percentile (almost off the chart). Even though she's gained weight she's gone further down on the percentile graph. She's grown in lenght though and i'm not really concerned, she's off her food at the moment which will be teething i think. I think we've just got a tall skinny little girl on our hands.
We're booked for another weigh in 2 months. See what happens in that time.
Bettter go, still in my pj's today :redface: there's nothing we had to do and i just haven't been able to get motivated.
Time to do something though :)

MadB just a question and i know i should not be doubting myself but i'm asking because i know you'll know the true facts.
I was talking to MIL about Harper's weight and in conversations she asked if it's an 'old wives tale' or does our milk become less nutritious as time goes one and with all the running around i do with no rest? My body still makes great milk for Harper right??

Oh and on a really exciting note we're almost to where we were when i weaned Charlie boy. Bring on many more snuggles with my girl :)
Yes of course, that's rubbish. It does change as your baby gets older, but it's always good and full of not only nutrition but all sorts of wonderful things your child can't get any other way (like immunoglobins and fatty acid thingos for brain development etc). If you were starving - as in famine-starving - then you may not make such good milk (if any), but otherwise it doesn't really matter what you eat etc, it's always good (they've done studies to check this).
