hey girls
Sorry i have been MIA!!
DH and I have been flat out getting his paperwork done for work. Finally finished what was due this week at 3am this morning!
Levi hasnt been making me tired- just this damm paperwork lol
All going great guns here. Really enjoying my little man! So much different this time around from the twins. He is a really cruzy bub and is happy eating, sleeping and gooing and smiling every now again!
My boobs are officially out of control STILLL!
Started at a D, went to a DD then E whilst preggy and now i am an F and i am falling out of them!!!! I thought that they would settle down soon but they are getting bigger and bigger!!!! OMG they are gonna pop any day now!!!
Finally got my hair done tuesday- WHOOOT! this was the appointment that i was getting done before i had Levi- man i feel so much better!
Levi has getting biggger and bigger and lost that newborn look earlier this week. He is changing day by day!!! Looking more and more like his older brother. Its amazing how quick they change- pretty sure that he is over 11lb now as well - he is getting so heavy
other than that all good here- really loving and enjoying this time!!
mwah girls and speak soon
Thanks for that list Jols. OMG Grace was the biggest, no wonder she couldn't get out, lol. I am only small. I blame DH for his genes. She was 12 days late and born at 2.38am.
Feeling better again today, phew. And my Nan is coming up today!! That will be good and a big help! One of Grace's middle names is after my Nan so I think she's pretty pleased, lol.
Ali- not stupid questions at all. Grace has been getting a shower or bath every day with DH but only because she LOVES it and it calms her down, otherwise I couldn't bother very often, they really don't need it. My boobs get hard on the outside too, I just massage them when she feeds.
Det- Great to hear from you!
Nai- Lol, IKWYM, I wish my fingernails grew as fast as DD's, it's unbelieveable!
Shell- Good to hear the settling is getting easier and the dummy is working for you! The comfort sucking is not comforting for sore nipples!!!!!!!!!!!!
OP- :( I hope that infection isn't coming back!
meg- ugh, my tummy is gross!! DH said to me the other day, ooh I forgot what you looked like not pregnant ;) like he liked it. I don't know what he's seeing but I'm glad it's not the same as me, lol.
tarkine- I don't have a mother's group either, I have no idea how to get involved in that at all, I don't know anything about it. Would be nice when DH goes back to work and to meet some mummy friends.
I have questions!! Grace was feeding every 2-3hrs and now it seems to have changed to every 4 hrs!! Is this ok?? And then she sleeps most of the rest of the time. And she's not feeding for as long either. She will do 20-30mins on one side and then 5-10mins on the other but sometimes only a few sucks on the other side. It was taking a lot longer before. Is something wrong with her or maybe it's just coz I've got my attachment sorted now and she's feeding more efficiently???? Should I wake her up to feed more often?? I'm scared to wake her when she's sleeping peacefully, lol. Overnight she only really wakes once for a feed at about 2-3am and then is up again at about 6-7am.
Also, the crack in my left nipple is not getting better!! It really hurts :( I don't know how to fix it because every time it looks like it's healing she then has to feed off it and it opens up again!! I'm so impressed with how she's doing on the right side now though!! She gets it right first time most of the time now and I can barely feel it!! I just wish the other side was as good and I would feel a lot more confident about BF.
SJ - Juliette has just started sleeping longer and feeding less frequently too so I think they must be getting past that phase where they are feeding all the time to get their weight back on. From memory they do this and go through phases. As long as it isn't more than 4hrs during the day and 5hrs at night then it is pretty normal at this age (I think that's what the MHCN said).
Shell - I tried the dummy and J just spat it out! G did the same so I'm not really surprised. My kids hate dummies and just want booby
Ali - I give J a bath every second night and top/tail her each day. Her skin was very dry also so I only use water and massage her with oil every day as well.
Hi Det - good to hear your little man is doing so well!
J slept pretty much from 5pm last night until 7am this morning with 3 feeds in between but she didn't really even wake for them - she must have been very tired. Maybe she is catching up from all the fussing she was doing the last few days. I'm glad she slept well as it's DP's first day back at work today and I have the 2 girls all by myself - I have to keep practising my mantra: don't panic, don't panic, don't panic
I have just uploaded some pics to the gallery (I couldn't work out how to access it until now )
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...=14759&cat=500
With the feeding - I try not to let her go more than 2 -3 hours during the day, in the hope to get a longer stretch at night. It seems to work.
AJP - Emilia was 6 pound 6. 3 weeks early. Also we are having bedtime dramas here with J too. Wants the door wide open, but then won't go to sleep because he can hear us. To the point that we have moved the TV up to the front end, and we will go down there in the evenings.
Det - I am glad that you have a cruisy baby. Please send some cruisy vibes my way!!!
I am on a new page, and this is all I can remember for now. 11am already! Where does the day go?!
Nai she is soo cute- you are one hot mamma to - you go girl!!!
Quicky- is anyone getting their boys circumcised????
We want to get it do- DH is Jewish, but i am not, so we have to find someone to do it!
Just rang my OB room and he does it under GA at 3 months. Dont know if this is the best way to go?? To put my bubba through a GA when other docs just snip IYKWIM!
I am soo stewed up about getting it done. I want him to be done, but dont want him to go through the procedure. My other DS was done last time under GA, but he was having an op for something else and they actually needed his foreskin for his surgery so it worked out well!
Anyone????
mwah
Thanks Nai. Maybe she's just slowing down earlier bc she put her weight back on quicker. She was up above her birthweight within a week, lol, little porky. But then, this morning she has been feeding a lot. Mainly though bc she's a bit unsettled I think so I just keep offering it to her to stop her crying and she has a snack!! lol.
Those are some really cute photos!!!!
Meg- Thanks! Grace seems to have worked day and night out now too, I'm so glad. She feeds a lot just before bed and then sleeps for like 5 hrs at a time!! Clever girl. I bring her basinette out into the loungeroom in the day time so it's not too dark and she gets to know day from night. And at night I don't really talk and play with her after a feed (I'm too tired anyway), just put her back to bed and she sleeps.
Hi Ladies...hope it's ok to join in...late as usual! Our little miracle bub, Anika Elise, 10 years in the making arrived on the 27th Feb..c section...all good. ad a few dramas with boobies too...antibiotics have fixed the engorgement and mastitis....but sooooo tired!!! Looking forward to leanring lots from you guys! Ex
Hey you guys,
do you mind if we join in too? I have been awol from the forums the last couple of weeks, but hope to get back into it sooner rather than later. I really miss it.
Nate was born c-sec on 26th Feb at 12.49pm with a uterine rupture. We were due 5th March.
9lb1oz, 51cm long and 37cm head (god love his father's genes).
He's very very fussy and screams a lot lol, I forgot what it was like. Feeds well every 2 hours (little pig) and I have no doubt he's way over his birth weight already.
Odette, I used to work in op suite at Kids Hossy...will BBL about the circs....
Welcome Ellie & congratulations on your miracle bub!
Welcome Kim! Congratulations on the birth of Nate. I also had a uterine rupture so I can relate
I am a bit concerned - J has basically slept since 5pm yesterday waking only for feeds and nappy chnages. She wakes, cries, feeds and then can't keep her eyes open and goes back to sleep. She doesn't have a temp and is sleeping peacefully so I don't think anything is wrong. The only thing I can think of is that I have stopped taking my pain medication for the c/s so maybe that was affecting her previously :dunno:
Hi girls,
We had a much better night last night.
Fed at 11pm, 3am and then 6am, then we fell asleep cuddling together until 10am.
So far she is being really good with sleeping and settling, but I am very anxious about when the nights of screaming are going to start.
Nai, Jols and Heaven- Thankyou for the advice. You girls are great. I suppose I am at a bit of an advantage being at the end of the thread as you girls know exactly what the answer to all my questions are. I hope I will be able to help you girls with things. I jsut feel a little lost at the moment.
I had my first cry last night, but DP was great. I creied because he is working and I feel like he is missing out. I jsut want him here. He loves her so much and I felt really bad last night as I had gother to sleep and he got home from work at about 12 and wanted to cuddle her but I said not to wake her (which he understood and didnt have a problem with) but I just felt so bad as I know he was desperate to cuddle his princess. At least its the weekend tomorrow.
My parents have been a god send this last week. I dont want them to leave next Monday. :(
Det- I am not sure about the snip, snip. My brothers are done but it was an OB in Sydney at the San Hospital. I think I am lucky as well with a cruisy baby (so far- I dont want to jinx myself)!
Nai- photos are absolutely stunning. You must be so proud. Hope bothe girls are good for their mummy today.
Jols- I am glad to know that the boobies settle down. Is engorgement when they are full??? Hope Sophie is being a good big sister today.
OP- how are your stitches going? I remember you saying they were very painful last week. I hope they are healing up. I am like you, they say to have so many showers a day but it is hard. I am only managing 2 showers a day but have got a spray bottle which I just filled with water to spray on there after I do a wee.
Heaven- That is fantastic the Grace was above her birhtweight within a week. She must be feeding well. Good work hun!!
Ellie- Welcome to you and Anika! That is a really beautiful name!!
Oh and just want you girls wanted to hear, but I was so proud of myslef yesterday.....I did a number 2!!!! I was petrified and am now really glad that I could do one. I feel much more confident about down there now although still cant bring myslef to look at the damage. (sorry for TMI)!
I am really sorry but I cant remember anymore, the feeling in my boobs is taking away my brain power!!!
Sorry this post was all over the place.
AJP, Thanks for the list! Leon was 14 days early and 6 lb 7 oz (don't know what happened with my conversions before lol).
Det, hope those boobs stop growing sometime soon! Leon has almost grown into his forehead wrinkles! I've also noticed his newborn cry is evolving - they grow too quick! Not sure about the snip issue. It's risky having a GA isn't it? Actually, I really have no idea!
Heaven, I can't believe how similar our bfing problems are. IRT the crack reopening, that is what I'm worried about as well. Each time I take Leon off, it looks as though the crack/graze has gotten bigger, but when feeding it doesn't hurt anymore, only after :dunno: This is just the left side though, the right side I'm still expressing! I hope it gets easier for both of us soon  (hugging myself too!)
Nai, I am so jealous of J's sleeping patterns! Although if it is concerning you I'd look into it.
Megie, I might try your trick and just feed him more frequently during the day and hope that he sleeps better during the night. Hope J is sleeping better now that you've moved the TV!
:hello: Ellie and Kim! Ellie, you just reminded me to take my AB's! I'm taking them for mastitis as well :( Kim, how is Darcy going with the new addition? Leon is feeding around every 2 hours as well. Went to the MCHN yesterday and he's gained 400g in a week, which she said is great!
Hi Ali! I just read your birth story, you did so well! I'm with you about the poo situation - I was petrified to do one after the birth, but when I had to go...I really had to go lol and it wasn't so bad after all. Your DH sounds sooo sweet! I wish DP was like that. He doesn't know what to do with Leon and just passes him to me all the time. At least he's got the bottle sterilizing down pat
Leon has been really unsettled lately. He wants to feed all the time, then fusses when I try to settle him and wakes up soon after settling :( I am getting really over constantly feeding, expressing, sterilising, settling...all day and night. Someone mentioned mothers groups...the MCHN should inform you about it. Our first MG meeting is Monday week - I'm nervous! I can't seem to shake the perception that all the mothers are *****y, comparing and judgemental! I hope that's not the case though, coz I need some mummy friends!
Anyway, enough rambling. Expressing is way overdue, better get to it...
det i think there is a place in ringwood that does circ., i can find out as friends used them.
sounds like levi is very cruisy!!
sara graces feeding sounds just fine!! hope your nipple heals up, are you giving it 'air' time????? rub some breastmilk on it and airdry it.
nai pics are gorgeous hun!! millie had a big sleep day/night the other day pretty much slept from 5pm-9am the next day!! was great :D
meg must be something with 2 yr olds!!!
ellie and kim of course your both welcome!! give me your birth details and i'll add them to the list!!!!!!
ali sounds like your doing a fab job hun!!! the snuggles must have been lovely for you guys!!
ask as many questions as youd like, were all here for each other!!!
poo's i went day 2 :o had to as well as the wanted me on iron tablets and could start them til id gone!!! wasnt too bad either!! i had a mirror out the day i got home to inspect the damage!!!
holly the first 6 weeks of mother group i didnt like, then when we were on our own going to each others places i loved it! we still catch up every week, their some of my best friends now, so give it a red hot go!!!
AFM we had visiters today so millie has catnaped adn quiet unsettled now, we also have the anglecare monitor and it keeps going off  which bothers me a little
DH is at the basketball tonight so i have botg girls by myself which would be fine except bathtime/bedtime is hell here
Evening ladies
Had a pretty good night with Isabel last night - were round at my parents' house, she went down at about 9pm for a sleep, I decided we'd head home at about 10.30 in the hopes that we'd wake her up so I could feed her and she'd have her 4hr sleep... woke her at about 11pm and fed one side, but could not interest her in the other, but she still slept til 3.30am so that was good.
Seems that she is getting the hang of day and night as well, she is currently more settled at night which is great. I can feed her and put her down with minimal fussing. SJ I'm doing the same as you - keeping night feeds quiet, dark, low stimulus etc.
At the moment she is dozing on daddy's chest, so cute. Not cute when she was screaming 5 mins ago though...
We tried a dummy today and she just spat it back out. No go!
My stitches are no worse I think... who knows what's going on?
AJP - good luck tonight with getting the girls to bed!
Holly - sounds like exactly what I've gone through. Could be a growth spurt! So impressed that you're still persisting with the b/feeding. Stick with it
Also don't be stressed about MG - the mums will most likely be first timers, just like you, and will be just as confused and worried about stuff as you are! :D Mine has been lovely - we do the council-education bit and then we all sit around chatting for another hour or so!
Ali - don't be anxious about what hasn't happened yet. You deal with it as it comes. As I said to DH last night, every bad day/night we get through is one less we have to get through. That was my attitude with contractions too :D
You are doing great! Sounds like Ashlyn is going great guns.
Nai, aren't they supposed to be like that?? Its exhausting being a newborn... but as someone else said, if it concerns you, get it checked out. Call the MCHN hotline maybe?
Hey Kim and Ellie - welcome! Never too late to join :D
OP my stitches were worse last time as i had an episotomy, this time only small perinium tear and internal tearing, and its much better! as long as its not getting worse!!
BBL sophie in the bath!!
bit sad though as DH isnt home  feeling teary about things
Holly - Keep taking those AB hun!
AJP - Birth details - Anika Elise born 27th Feb, 8.51am, 8 pound 11oz...53cm long, 38cm head circumference (at 38 weeks thank goodness for c section lol!!!)
Just had our first visit from the Child Health Nurse...Anika has put on 500gram since we got home last Thursday...chunky monkey lol! Got yet another opinion on how I 'should' be feeding...ahhhhh...she checked that Anika is latching ok and thinks I should now be feeding from both sides at each feed instead of just one...which is what I was told to do to sort out the engorgement and mastitis...a bit scared changing might mess everything up again...so going to call the LC and get her opinion!
I'm in two minds about MG too...but think I should give it a go and if it's no good I won't go back :)
Here's hoping we all get some sleep tonight!!!
Ellie- Is she looking for more after you finish from the one side? See what the LC says tomor.
AJP- Sounds like  is needed, what time will your DH get back? I hope you're not having too many bedtime dramas.
OP- Sounds like Isabel is settling nicely. I hope Em starts to settle better at night.
Holly- Hopefully you'll get good mums group, just remember they are all in same boat, be good to chat to each other about your worries and things. I still see my mums group and they're all 2.5 now.
Ali- Being a mum can be quite overwhelming, esp for first time, just take each day as it comes and try not to stress over things (yes easier said than done sometimes!)
Nai- Maybe she having some kind growth spurt? I know Ash always used to sleep so much more when she did.
Det- From what I've heard to have it done without GA it has to be done in first couple weeks I think it is, otherwise you have to wait til they're old enuff for GA. I knpw I've seen ads in Melbourne Child advertising. Does DH know anyone in the Jewish community to ask?
