How was every one else's weekends?
AFM: a/f wasnt too painful. but shes here...full force. but DH and i did have a nice weekend. i had coffee with some girls from high school and then bumped into an ex (whoes still a friend of mine) which was cool. and yesterday we went over to DH's mates new place which was fun. mummy got to have a few drinkies :D and talked to DH's mate G - who made me feel all nice and little (but i guess DH being 10 years older and his friends being 29 and 33 cant be avoided) and they both made atleast two blonde jokes each! which was amuseing. got home and had a relaxing night. thismoring at ten past 8 there was a knock at the door. so me assumeing it was FIL opend it in my jimjams. whoops  it was the solar pannle guy needing to fix something eheheh...at least i wasnt nude i guess :p day we're not doing much...maybe go into the local shopping center and see how much play pens are...and maybe getting my plates put back onto my car :yay: but we'll see...Ohh and DJ has finealy worked out how to do the whole rasberry thing! he was doing it at DH early saterday morning hehe...which was cute (and nice that i got a sleep in! )
Hope every one is having a nice day!!
Ooo better go Mr DJ is hungry :wiggle:
-
Dansta: Sounds like you had a nice weekend :). Haha about answering the door in your pjs - I've done that a bit, but having a baby is a good excuse ;).
Well, Oliver's 'date' went well :). They played near each other on the floor, looking at each other with great interest. Oliver reached out an tried to touch Ella a few times. At one point they even swapped toys, awwww sharing. Oh, and Oliver rolled from back to tummy for the first time while they were here. Now he can go both ways... watch out!
I think Oliver and I will go visit Ella and her mum at their place next. It's so nice, slowly making friends with other mums.
Anyway, I better go try and get some housework done while Mister Oliver sleeps.

Howdy Ladies!
I'm in trouble! My nan (the boys great nan) looked after the boys and she told me he crawled from one side of the lounge to the other so prob 2 meters in one hit!

Good Morning Ladies,
How is everyone today? Winter and I are sick AGAIN! I cant believe it! She had a runny nose sunday night and by the middle of sunday night she could hardly breathe through her nose :( Im sneezy and snotty and DP is a mess too, ARGH! Took her to the doctors yesterday too and he checked her ears and said to just keep an eye on her, keep up the prunes and did I mention she had a nasty rash? Its thrush :( God Im not winning Mum of the year anytime soon, but Im trying my best. Apparently we all have this tybe of bacteria in our bodies... no idea why it popped up though.
Good news(Sterla you'll be into this) just scored some bargains off 'Buy for baby' 7 nappies inc green kids pocket and beehinds(bamboo and hemp) for $7.50 and under! stoked!
Not much else happening... Oh the top tooth cut on sat! She is too cute :)
PJ- I cracked up when I read your tipsy post! Hahhahaha  And that is sooo awesome that Summer slept in her cot yesterday! You must have been so stoked! Does your cat ever let Summer pat it? Winter loves our cat but she grabs chunks of hair instead of patting, then you have to release her iron grip!
Sugar Dust- Holey Moley! Crawling! That is sweet, I bet you were devo you missed it though. Has there been a repeat performance?
Dansta- I though we might have had a new buddy but its you! Glad to hear you guys had a good weekend. As for AF I think I might be getting mine soon... Ive been having tummy cramps the last 3 days and have been a bit cranky(a good indication!) NOOOOO Im so not looking for ward to it! Did you get any sighns before your first one after Daz was born??
Sterla- Thata great you are making some Mummy friends. In a few months you will look back and wonder what you did without them. Not to mention how great it will be for Oli to grow up with little friends(or girlfriends :))
As for the mcn thing I SOOOO know what you mean, DP keeps saying "why do we need anymore?!Your done now arent you" "what the hell? No I only have 6!" One of my friends just got some itti bitti's which she loves so I have a fellow cloth buddy. Even though SIL (who converted me) uses terry she just isnt into the mcn thing.
Did you have a better sleep last night? A top tooth, how exciting! Hopefully Oli goes back to his previous good sleeping ways soon.
Man Im tired! Winter was up five times during the night then after her 5am feed the STUPID bird started outside her window and woke her up.
Hope your all having a good day.:D
-
Peach: Hey :D. That sucks that you are all sick. I hope you are all feeling better soon .
Wow, those are some good MCN bargains! I'll check out that site. Yeah, definitely try some itti bittis! I have 5 of them, and I really like them. They're so small, they're not much bigger than a disposable.
You know what else I'm obsessed with though - Babylegs! They're so cool - I can't wait for the weather to warm up so that Oliver can just wear his nappy, a singlet and some babylegs.
I hope you manage to get some rest today. Up 5 times at night is rough!!!
PJ: Woohoo for Summer's long sleep! Isn't it amazing how much you can get done when they have long sleeps! Oliver was doing long day sleeps, but seems to have given them up again... :wall:. That is so great that Summer is sitting up :).
SugarDust: Wow! Crawling! That is amazing... I guess it won't be long before all our little ones are on the move. Uh oh - watch out!
Dansta: How are you and Daz going? Isn't it all so great about Skye and her bubba! I can't believe how big she was for how early she was! :o
Moose: How is the busy Moose going? I believe you have some news for us about Sammy? (I was on my hotmail and noticed your update ;)).
AFM: Well, the crappy sleep continues... Last night Oliver woke at 11.15pm, and just would not go back down again. He'd fall asleep on me, then when I put him down he'd wake up and cry... so frustrating! I fed him a couple of times, but that didn't fix the fact that he'd wake and cry whenever I put him down. In the end I rocked him for ages until he must have been in too deep a sleep to wake up. It was 1.15am by the time I got to bed, and then he was awake 3 hours later. He was a little hard to get down then (though not as bad), but awake 15 minutes later for more cuddles/rocking :wall:. Finally got him down at 5.15am, then he slept till 7am. Not much sleep for me :(. His day sleeps have gone all funny too. I've had to go back to feeding him to sleep cause he gets too worked up and upset every other way (and I am already far too tired to deal with hours of crying). I have no idea what's going on. If it's teeth, well he never makes a fuss about them any other time. I'm actually thinking that it might be separation anxiety. That's supposed to kick in around this age. And it does make sense why he only gets upset when I put him down in his cot (although he doesn't during the day, but he can see me then). I kind of hope it is that, just so I know what I'm dealing with. So, I have had a week straight now of 3+ wakings. Gee I hope it stops soon.
Apart from the crappy sleep, we are actually quite good. Oliver is really looking like he's trying to work out crawling. He's able to get from sitting to his tummy, and when he's up on his hand and knees he kind of experiments with different movements. It's so funny watching their little minds and bodies trying to work everything out.
This afternoon Oliver and I are off to visit a fellow BBer. She just moved to Tassie (a few blocks away from where I live actually), and doesn't know anyone, so I'm going to meet her. She has two toddlers, and she's pregnant, and she's just moved states, and she doesn't know anyone here. I'd be losing my mind, but she sounds like she's coping with it all. Oh, and she's into MCNs too!!!
Hope everyone is well.
-
Oh Sterla you must be so tired!!! Have you tried getting him to sleep while he is in the cot? We were rocking and feeding Winter to sleep... Im sure you remember! Now we roll her on her side facing away from us and slowly pat her bot whilst holding her shoulder. Yeah its hell 20% of the time and I do cheat every now and again with feeding to sleep(ok twice today :)) But it is good as then you dont have to worry about the careful transition into cot and also Oli wont be able to see you when he goes to sleep so he cant see you leave iykwim? Lately I dont even have to hold her as she knows its sleepy time....
Just an idea! Thats what they said at sleep school too.
Hope your meet up goes well today! And a cloth buddy too, just after you said you didnt have anyone IRL to obsess with!

Morning ladies
Peach: Thanks for those sleep ideas. If the bad sleep goes on too much longer I'm going to have to do something...
Last night was slightly better. We actually got a 4 hour stretch of sleep from him, which is the longest we've had in a while. He woke up three times, but for two of those times he went back down without any problems. The last time he decided it was time to be awake, but he did go back down about 6am and slept till 8am, so I actually ended up getting some sleep last night.
My meet up with the BB member was okay. She's a bit shy, and I'm a bit shy, so we struggled a little with conversation, but I think it will improve if we keep meeting. Her two kids were lovely - the boy spent a lot of time bringing out all his toy trucks to show me. Oliver loved it too - he loves watching other little people :).
Also, got nappies and cloth wipes and babylegs in the mail today!!!
How is everyone else doing? The sun is shining here today, so I'm going to take Oliver to the park :).
-
Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you girls (just out of curiosity) since our bubs are about the same age... how many day sleeps are your bubs having? Oliver is still on three sleeps a day, but they're mostly little 40 minute cat naps. I'm wondering if I keep him awake longer I can maybe get 2 big sleeps from him instead. I'll have to try.
Also, how many of you have bub on 3 solids meals a day? I'm thinking Oliver might be ready, but I'm struggling with what to feed him, cause he's still only on fruit/veg and occasional porridge or rice cereal.
Oliver is having a nice long day sleep for once!!! Almost 2 hours! Have gotten so much done!
-
Oliver finally, finally, finally had a decent night!!!!!!!
He went down at 8.30pm and slept through till after 3.30am! He slept 7+ hours without waking!!!! Then he woke for a feed (thank goodness - my boobs were about to burst after more than a week of 3+ night feeds), had his feed and I put him back down. He was still awake and talking to himself when I left him, but eventually he stopped talking and fell asleep (all on his own :D) until 7.15am.
I've been trying to work out if we did anything differently to make him sleep better... but I can't think of anything. Maybe, hopefully - it was just a phase that has now passed :crossfingers:.
I hope everyone is having a good day so far :).

sterla-hahaha you made me crack up!!Ive done the same, come back on to say something but my post was still the last one so i thought oooh will i??Thats great Oli had a good night, did you sleep?Summer sleeps through most the time but if she does have a bad night then i dont sleep the next few thinking or waiting for her to wake up!!Ok the 2 questions....Summer used to sleep like one big sleep mid late morning then a nap in arvo but then she went threw a phase of not sleeping at all or maybe 2 half hour naps all day then she went back for about 3 days to one 2 hour day sleep and a half hr nap in arvo but now looks like we are back to half hour naps. How long does Oli sleep at night?Summer has quite a big spell there thats why i wander if she doesnt need much in day but another lady i knows bubs the same age and she still has a 3 hour and 2 hour sleep. So Summer at night always in bed before 8(she just did that herself)and then she wakes about 6 for bot bot then goes back, sometimes 2 hours sometimes more or less.boy ive raved on there!!!solids, shes a guts, she was having 3 meals a day or more!!and i am also struggling what to give!!She loves yogurt and mashed banana

ello ladies!
SD: Wow have you seen this cralwing yet?!?!
PJ YaY for a long sleep its good but scary when it happens isnt it?
Peach: aww about the thrush! DS had that (along with the dribble rash!) i was useing dactaren (sp?) on it and it cleared up (plus if he got any in his mouth it was fine becuase its used to treat oral thrush!) my first two a/f after daz where 'normal' 21 days apart now they've gone to 34 days apart :o which is 'normal' a friend of mine whoes *almost* a GP told me...so who knows :dunno:
...thats interesting about the patting to sleep...i semi do that with DJ once he's alseep in my arms i put him down and if he wakes i patt him like that...and it works then...but im a softy and love my DJ snuggles!
sterla: YaY for Olis sleeping 7hrs! thats fantastic! i hope he keeps it up! have you given him more solids though out the day? or gone out in the fresh air? as for the three meals aday i'm giving that to daz now (give or take) he's funny becuase he KNOWS he gets his bottle first then about 20mins half an hour later he gets food...and if you try and do it the other way he cracks it! so just go with the flow i guess and see what happens, like i know i'm giving daz up to 120g of food (some of the tinned apple oat stuff - still trying to work out how to make it...i tried and daz didnt like it...so we're going to give it another go!)
AFM: been a semi busy few days here. DH's work times changed for an hour on tuesday/yesterday. as for why i dont know! :wall: DH will be out of a job end of this year/start of next (plat members know this) they're (so rumer has it..) another job at the company taking over (DH is in Logistics for a MAJOR car raido compay who have their own logistic center...) but we're not sure about it they've been told in order to get their pay out from the comany they have to work for the new one which made me go :wtf: on so many levels. but other then that all has been fairly good here...the weather has been wonderful. but today it rains! this weekend we're going with PIL to PIL's sisters place (about a 2hr trip each way, so DH's aunts) who i've met twice. both times at a weddings. once my BIL's and once at mine! but im looking forward to a trip away. DH and I are planning a camp trip for our first wedding anniversary! (with hopefully as meany friends as we can organise to be free on the same weekend!)and before that i'm having a night out (with out DJ or DH with some girls!) in late Oct - a dress up karaoke for Halloween!
Ohh and i have an amuseing story too. last weekend we caught up with DH's mates at their new place and they where talking about "when i was 21 blahblahblah" and all i could say was "thanks guys way to make me feel like a baby!" and one of DH's mates,G was like "Ohh you want to feel little? i was born in the middle of the 70s!" and i found out yesterday it was is 33rd birthday  !
i better toddle off...i need to put away some washing and try and make our bed - if our male cat has moved off it!
hope every one is having a good day and have a lovely weekend! :wiggle:
-
ohno!!!Sorry girls, mine got posted twice have no idea how!!The phone rang so had to cut it short so i pressed it and oh dear never mind anyway........So,basically after all the rave on she has about 10-11 hours then another1-3 then as of today gone from a 2hr amd a half hr to just a half hr.
Peach-Sorry you not been well!!!Hope you all get better quick!!Poor Winter with the thrush, you cant help feeling bad hey?But its not our fault!!I feel so bad about summers poor eczema.Hopefully it goes soon!!and yes she does exactly the same with the cat!!haha soooo funny and i panick incase he will get cranky but he hasnt yet, they jut grab at the fur its like eeek!!
ok well all the same here really, summer had physio again yestdy, they so happy with her sitting up but still not the rolling and they said she doesnt take any weight on her arms/hands so we gotta work on that now..madness!!But overall she doing well phew!!!other than that good.Hey do any of you ladies give your bubs a like snooky or blNKEY OR TEDDY OR you know comfort thing??my sisters kids still do and Dhs sisters kids do but summers not interested,i thought it migt be too early but the other kids started early but ive tried incase i ever need it but she doesnt seem bothered so i just wandered if there was a trick?or do the just choose something themelves if they want something?or better not to have one?bit of bad news her eczemas flared up again, not major but its increased to her arms and tummy now i dont know why or if it was something shes eaten different. It was clearing up on her legs and then she scratched it so bad its a mess!!You should see it!And wwith it getting warmer she not in longer pants too.ohwell shes been good having no flare ups.ok better go have to go the shops hope evryones good!!
-
yup!
He is getting around so fast now!
-
Sugardust: That's so awesome that L is crawling so well, and that you have seen it now :).
PJ: We don't give Oliver any comfort thing for sleep. I did try this cow blanket thing, but Oliver wasn't interested. I think it's the kind of thing where, it doesn't matter when you introduce it, you just have to be really consistent with it. That's no good about Summer's eczema :(. Oliver has it a little bit now, and like you, I can't work out what triggered it. How are you and Summer?
Dansta: Ooh - a girls night out! That will be fun! Will that be the first time you've left Daz? I mean, left him for a while? Haha about the young/old thing! Well, you're the 'baby' (baby blip) of our group! :D Mind you, I think you get to this age, and the difference between 21 and 31 doesn't seem like much. I worked out the other day that I'm the youngest one in my MG - heaps of the other mums are in their early 30s, but when you have babies in common, age doesn't seem to matter :).
Peach: How are you and Winter? Feeling any better?
AFM: Well, sleep seems to be slowly improving here. Oliver only woke up twice the last few nights, and went back down fairly easy (well, easier than those shocking nights from last week). Also, his day sleeps are great! Yesterday he had 2.5 hours in the morning, then 1.5 hours in the afternoon! I couldn't believe it! He seems to be having 2 bigger sleeps a day now, instead of 3 little cat naps.
Oliver has now started 'backwards crawling'. I can put him down on the floor, and he slowly but surely moves backwards (and usually on a curve too). He can also sort of turn around in a circle. I can't believe how quickly he's learning though, and how much he has improved with it in just the couple of days he's been doing it. Crawling may be sooner than I thought!
And I'm having MG at my house on Monday! I'm hoping not everyone shows up, simply cause there's so many of us - but it should be good!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend :).
