Evening ladies! I've been meaning to come on here all day to update, but have been quite busy getting organised after our trip away.
Dansta: Glad you got all your computer stuff sorted so quickly :). Sorry you had a bad day  - I hope tomorrow is better for you
PJ: We just have a Roger Armstrong travel high chair - it's good - doesn't take up too much space, and folds away flat if needed. Too cute about Summer playing with her cousins, and great that it wore her out! :)
Peach: Yay - a double post! I'm not the only one, heehee! That's terrible about the trip and Winter screaming the whole way... I thought we'd had a bad trip home with Oliver, but yours sounds much worse! All this sleep business sucks, hey? Well, we can be zombies together ;).
Moose: How are you going you busy, busy lady?
AFM: Well, our weekend was very, very busy. It was our first weekend away overnight, so I was quite nervous about how Oliver would go. However, once again Oliver surprised me by being really wonderful :). On the drive down he slept for a bit over an hour, then amused himself for the rest of the trip. My Dad came with us on the trip down (to pick up DH's bike to drive home :(), so I think that helped to keep Oliver happy. On the Saturday we had 3 visits to make, and Oliver was really good. Not cranky at all, as long as I was nearby. He even managed to have a little day nap in the porta cot at my uncle's place (where we were staying). I wasn't sure how Oliver would go in the porta cot, but he was fine. At night he even slept exactly the same as he would have at home (waking up three times), and settled back fine too. On the Sunday we had 4 visits to do. We had intentions of not getting away any later than 4pm - but it ended up being 5.45pm by the time we got away. By then Oliver was over-tired and getting cranky though :(. I sat in the back with him for the first hour, and managed to keep him distracted with toys and my keys and a water bottle. Then we stopped and got tea, and I fed him (hoping he'd fall asleep and stay asleep). He did fall asleep, but woke up when I moved him into his seat... and he then proceeded to cry and cry and cry, cause by then it was dark and Oliver hates driving in the dark. We stopped several times, and I was sitting in the back with him... eventually I managed to get him settled by shining the light from phone near his face and singing the same song over and over and over again (like, for the last hour of the trip). So, of the 2.5 hour trip, Oliver slept for the last half an hour. DH and I were completely and utterly exhausted when we got back, and certainly are not planning on doing it too often!
Today Oliver and I have had a fairly quiet day, which has been very nice. Oliver's had a couple of big sleeps, and has been in quite a good mood. We have a busy week ahead of us though. Oliver has a date with his girlfriend tomorrow, then playgroup and a play date with his friend Oscar on Wednesday.
I hope everyone is well - I am now going to have a nice, relaxing evening before heading to bed.

Hi ladies!!Had a great time yesterday!Actually went shopping for myself yah!!!I met up with my sister and she looked after summer if i wanted to try on things,i got some clothes,i was desperate for some, nothing fits and im over waiting for the weight to come off(hehe could be all the cakes and things maybe??)so i give up there and got some bigger clothes, was great!I ended up getting a high chair too just from target seems good so far,was mid range sort one see how it goes i guess. Not much happening today, ohyeh went to physio yesterday, the lady was bit annoyed with herself as she felt she gave us excercises that were a waste of time last time so we just have to keep woring on increasing tummy time, which makes sense how else will she learn i guess. She also advised us to get rid of the jolly jumper as summer likes to be on her tip toes instead of flat on her feet.Boy i wander sometimes, why make these things if there no good?Problem is she loves it!Ive just not had her in it much lately.I looked at strollers too but didnt get one my sisters had 3 kids and she said shes still a baby really and likes to sleep etc in her pram and another point she brought out,why spend alot on a pram if your only gonna use it 5 minutes, she just felt summer still a bit young,so i'll probably not worry for a while unless i see a bargain or something.Ok i've really raved on all about myself pretty much.Hope everyones good!Better go someones getting wingy here

pj: YaY for getting new clothes! how nice is it (and im sooo with you on the "so...whens the waight going to fall off eh?" but i have a sweet tooth ;) oo glad to hear about the hair chair, as long as it holds summer in then its fine! hopefully summer starts likeing her tummy time sommore, have you tried laying down with her on your belly? so she can sit like that with out having to worry about if her head plops down its just onto your chest KWIM?
Peach: woo! long mg, thats so cool. i bet you're be tired as. i get tired from my mg and its normaly 1:30pm till 4! how is winter going?
AFM: been a busy few days. wednesday was MG. i went for a walk with daz before it and whilest we where there one of the mums told us she's 6weeks along with #2! (which made me go a little green eyed!) then started the guesses at "who'd be next" one of the mums piped up "Oh i might be, but i cant rember how long ago aunt flow was...and im that irregular!" haha we also got a wedding invite to a counsen of mines wedding - i had to get my dad to call his sister to make sure we could bring DJ  which we can lol. so now the hunt starts for a new outfit! for all of us (DH needs a suit!!) other then that nothing else happening. my backs better now which is good. aaaaand tomorrow im catching up with a friend of mine, i havent seen him in two years. Hello Ladies,
hope you don't mind if I rejoin again after being MIA for so long. It has just been one thing after another here, hence it has taken me so long to get back to BB. She had shocking nappy psoriasis that we almost ended up at the hospital with her bcos it was so bad. Then she had a terrible cold (which started when her fist tooth started coming through) which lasted for nearly 2 months, lots of very very bad nights with almost no sleep as she could hardly breathe. Then just as the cold started getting better (after I finally convinced our GP she needed antibiotics) she comes down with gastro!!! Has so not been fun, I also had gastro at the same time as her, now DH came down with it really bad as well just last night, starting to feel like we will never get a break!
Anyway, I have finally caught up with all the chatter, glad to hear your bubs have been well for the most part.
1pj- I would not be too worried about Summers development, as they say, babies will do things in their own time, but I know how you feel it is worrying. I have been a bit worried about Lauren as well.
Peach: I can't believe Winter is 9.5kg, that is amazing - what a lovely healthy buba you have. Lauren is still only 7.2kg, another cause for concern, but the MCHN said to me this week with everyhing she has been through of late not to be too concerned just yet.
Dansta: I know how you feel about wanting baby #2, as much as I don't want one anytime too soon, I have still been thinking about what kind of gap we should have. Some days though when I think I'm crazy for even thinking about it!
Sterla: Glad to hear your weekend away went well, as busy as it was. I can't believe Oli is waving already, that is too cute.
AFM: I have been for the most part pretty good which is a positive thing, I have needed to be to cope with her for the last few months! Lauren has been commando crawling for about a month now I think, is getting much faster now too & has started to explore other rooms of the house other than the lounge room. The other day she crawled from one end of the house to the other to get to me as I was in the laundry, stopping on the way to investigate the cat bowl - thankfully I intervined just in time! She is also doing lots of the mummum-bubbub, bababababa kind of babble, I think DH is a little sad she hasn't made dada type noises yet. :) We gave up totally on giving her bottles about 2 months ago, so it is mainly what we give her from the spoon, the milk jelly mixed with puree fruit & veg. She has started to drink from an open cup as well so we give her a bit of formula that way. Anyway sorry for the long post, looking forward to chatting with you ladies more, hope you're all having a great weekend.

How are you all?
Yvettemj: Welcome back. My goodness, you have had a rough trot haven't you! You poor thing, and poor Lauren too. I hope things start looking up for you all. How great that Lauren is commando crawling! Lol about her coming to find you, and about the cat food! Oliver's not quite crawling yet, but I know I'm never going to have a moment to rest once he does!!! He'll be into everything, I'm sure. Love the pic of Lauren in your ticker :).
Dansta: I'm glad your back is better, that must not have been fun :(. Wow about the mum in your MG having #2 - I can just imagine your face turning green with envy when she told you! :p I keep being amazed when I hear about first time mums expecting their second bub, but I suppose it's just going to keep happening from here on in. I hope your lunch with your friend went well.
Peach: Yup, I'll vote. Go Winter - I bet she's in with a big chance to win too! :) How are you these days? Still sleep deprived? I am.
Now, you say no more cloth - but will it last? If you're anything like me, it won't! :p
PJ: I saw those pics of Summer on FB - she is so adorable! They're really nice photos! I want to get some professional photos done soon. Yay for shopping! New clothes make a big difference I think - I am in desperate need of some new clothes. Hope you and Summer are well.
Moose: "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Moo-oose! Happy birthday to you!" I hope your DH and Sammy are spoiling you rotten!
AFM: I don't know if I really have much to tell you all. Oliver and I had a fairly quiet week - we were at home a lot more than normal, which I don't think I like very much. I get a bit stir-crazy at home. We were going to visit a mum from my MG, but Oliver slept so long we only got to see them for an hour. We were going to go to playgroup on Wednesday, but Oliver slept too long and the mum I was going to see Wednesday afternoon cancelled. Rock & Rhyme wasn't on Thursday cause it was Show Day. DH had the day off on Friday which was nice - but we didn't really do anything.
Oliver has had a couple of slightly better nights recently - only waking twice!!! However, the second wake up he was up for over an hour :wall:. I'm tired - but I'm always tired. I've felt pretty flat the last few days.
Oh, and Oliver is so close to crawling now, it's ridiculous! He can do all the actions for crawling - it's just a matter of repeating them now!
Hope you're all well
-
ello lovies!
Yvet: aww  poor chicken you and lauren have had a tough run havent you  i hope things are all ups from here on in! at her following you around the house and at the cat bowl! she's such a clever girl!
Sterla: aww :( about cabin fever! hopefuly oli wont over sleep for you this comming week (but sleep *all night long all night ohh yeah* ;-] ) oo you'll be busy when he starts crawling. like i've said before he looks like the quiet sneeky type LOL. as for greeness? think hulk green ;)
AFM: been a busy weekend. DH ended up looking after daz yesterday when i went to have lunch with my friend, which was nice. a very strange feeling i held off for an hour and a half before i text DH and asked how DJ was going...which was a good effort i even made it hard for me to "rush off" i caught the train to the next suburbe :P mind you as much as this guy is nice (and very ... gay) he was like "oh your arms look bigger then last time i saw you" (think almost 3 years ago) and i was like "yep picking up an almost 8kg baby and a 9.5kg cat will do that" :shakehead: silly man!
Ohh and guess what, to those who i have on FB :shh: i think i may have got a :bfp: thismoring. i dont know...i'll have to re-test with a better brand tomorrow...) but i looked like a bfp (albe it a faint one!)...but we'll wait and see!
I better be off and wash some dishes!
hope ever one is having a good day! :wiggle:
-
Dansta: Wow, wow, wow!!! You absolutely must keep us updated!!!
-
Dansta- WOOP WOOP!!!! How exciting you crazy clucky Mama! That is so awesome! :) And wtf about your friend saying that about your arms, stupid male :shakehead:
Yvette- Great to hear from you and of course we dont mind you coming back!. Ive actually been thinking of you and Lauren this week wondering how you girls were, far out youve been having a rough trot :( I cant imagine how hard it must have been to look after Lauren whilst having gastro. It sounds like even though its been rough that Lauren is going great with her development, crawling everywhere is great! And she is so gorgeous in your ticker, I bet even cuter IRL.
Sterla- I know what you mean about feeling flat, I find I get that way when Ive stayed home all week and not been anywhere or seen anyone... As for the sleep deprivation...argh! When will it end? Winter is much better than she used to be definately but I just want unbroken sleep! And NO MORE nappies! God help me if I get any more, DP will kill me lol
Moose- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Where are you lady?!
AFM- Well.... Winters cheeks were red about an hour ago, so I looked in her mouth and you girls wont believe it... a third top tooth and a 4th about to cut! That will be 3 in a week! She is a tooth monster! More to say gotta run be back tonight :)
-
sterla: dont worry i will!!!
Peach: 3 teeth in a week?!?! Dj still only has two, bottem teeth with no more about to come though - it seems.... winter is a toothy moster now.."one two chompchompchomp"
AFM: all up thee HPT later and 3 faint :bfp: 's later, DH is telling me "nope too faint to tell, so it could be wrong" grrr stupid male! a line is aline!!! but tomorrow we'll be able to see better hopefully and i'll call the docs to get an appt for a blood test to conferm (ohh hes ganna lurve me isnt he...he along with my MCHN told me "wait two years" hmmph.)
other then that taxes will be done tonight so some $$ will be comming my way (hopefully) next week = resineing from my job so more $$ woot! ehehe
hope every one is having a good weekend!
:wiggle:
-
Oh Dansta Ive got butterflies in my tummy for you! Im so nervous/excited!
I know, three teeth in a week is gnarly. Poor Bub.
So I had other stuff to say and now I cant really remember. Oh yeah... Winter is back to feeding to sleep full time *sigh* I gave up completely last week. Its just been on-going as you girls know to try and get her to self settle I just am at a loss, she is such a boob junkie... And with the patting her bot thing, most of the time it would work but when it wouldnt it got SO frustrating. And she is so active now she would arch her back which makes it imposible to hold her.
With feeding her to sleep it is kind of frustrating in a different sense, I mean I love it because BFing is my fav thing ever but it sucks because getting her to sleep is my responsibility full time, DP cant help out or anything so that is a bit tiresome. It is good though her going to sleep peacefully with no crying whatsoever... I just wonder how long I can do it for. I just wish I could place her down awake, give her a kiss goodnight and her go to sleep like that(without screaming when I leave the room of course).
How do you girls put your Bubs down at night? Everyone I talk to is different.
Also moved her room around on friday for something different. Instead of cleaning the kitchen, bathroom etc See girls I have my priorities in the right order ;)
Hope you all had a great weekend!
-
Dansta: I am so excited for you! Especially after you talking for so long about wanting another bub! Pfft to your DH - a line is a line - and 3 lines - well, there's really not much arguing with that! I can't believe you're UTD! So happy for you! :D
Peach: Don't worry about feeding to sleep . Honestly, just do whatever is the least stressful for everyone involved. I go between feeding to sleep and rocking to sleep with Oliver. At the moment I rock him to sleep during the day and feed him to sleep at night... and if he's having trouble getting off to sleep with me rocking, well then I fall back on feeding to sleep. I'm such a sook, I couldn't handle letting Oliver cry himself to sleep :(. I'm the same as you though - I'm the only one who can get Oliver off to sleep - but it's always been that way for us, so I'm used to it.
As for sleep problems in the future? Well, I figure I'll deal with them when and if I need to.
AFM: So glad Bathurst is over! DH and one of his mates sat on the couch all day - Oliver and I were very bored!
-
peach: i feed DJ (although its a bottle) to sleep. we did the whole pat to sleep in hospital and after watching him cry for half an hour i knew i couldnt do it at home. DJ wont sleep unless im the one whoes feeding him, he can self settle, when he wants to. IE on the floor in his play pen or i can put him down awake (sometimes i have had to do it - EG thursday is hailed and i needed to move DH's tools out of the weather) but i choose not to, why? one day Dj will be telling me "no mummy i put myself to bed" so i wont get the long cuddles. and im sure i'll be doing it with both DJ and this bubba (ohh dear, i need a name for the eventual bump!) becuase im overly soft and a sucker for cuddles. winter will do it in her own time. i have found though that giving DJ oats (i buy them atm, untill i can get them right :P ) before bed helps him sleep, i think because he may feel fuller? maybe give it a shot. i hope winter settles down for you..
Ohh and could it be seperation anxitey? maybe try playing heaps of peekaboo with her and see if she can understand that you've gone but you'll be back??
-
OHMYGOD I just got her to sleep after half an hour and was half way through the last post and Winter woke up SCREAMING like Ive never heard her. DP was asleep on the loungeroom floor(hungover) he snapped awake, I threw the laptop and we ran in, far out I had flashes of her on the floor(I left the side down) she was in her cot though... my heart is still racing. Ive given her nurofen for her teeth and she is awake again now with DP in there... I hope it kicks in and tonight isnt rough :(
-
Peach:  Don't those sudden screams/cries make your heart jump! I hope Winter settles for you.
