Pj - :comfort:  daz is like summer and loveloveloves his hands! he's only in the last two weeks started liking toys! have you tried "tummy time" on your chest? like belly to belly? you're doing good darl. trust your gut instinct
-
Thanks Blip!Glad Summers not the only one with a hand obsession!!haha!I havent tried that much on my tummy maybe i will, any ideas are good hey,i gues theres so many different ways of getting them on there tummy, just have to think of them, she really loves her bath too so last night I put her on her tummy in the bath and she was so busy playing and splashing i dont think she reaslised so that was good.I'll keep perservering, shes got to get used to it eventually surely!!!I noticed that you mentioned facebook, are all you girls on there because i am too!!
-
Pj- a few of us are! as for rolling i read its 'normal' for babies to start rolling from 3-7 months! so i understand the whole phyiso thing (daz was sent to one as well...and she's bleepin' bleep of a bleep..KWIM?) i'll PM you with my name if you like? if you need to talk just let me know...im happy to listen and i understand the whole push for babies to develop! and FWIW - daz dosent have much tummy time he throws up if i put him there...so its short sints of tummy time...and even then...hes too busy munching on his hands to do much else!
-
Hi girls :)
Gee it's been quiet around here recently. Hope everyone is doing okay.
1pj: I tried to PM you my details for FB, but it wouldn't let me send it... so (since everyone here knows my name anyway ;)) - look up Selina Purdy and you should fine me.
 Try not to worry about Summer (I know it's hard), but just remember that every baby is different... all babies develop at different times, and really, by the time they're older, as long as they can do everything they need to, it doesn't matter when they learnt to do something.
Blip: Oliver quite enjoys munching on his hands too... they're constantly all wet and slimy from it :p
AFM: I took Oliver into the library this morning for "Rock and Rhyme". It's a music session for mum's and babies. I think it's actually aimed more at toddlers, but there were other younger bubs there too. It's basically just a lot of singing along to nursery rhymes and songs with lots of actions. All the bubs are given an instrument (mainly things to shake) aswell. I think Oliver liked it - he had his hands in his mouth the whole time, lol, but was watching it all with a great deal of interest. He was eyeing off the other babies, and at one point reached out to touch the hair on a toddler's head that was walking past! I also picked up a Baby Book Pack that they had at the library - they have them for different ages 0-12 months, 2-3 years, etc. Oliver loves books, so he should have some fun with that. He was so tired though, and conked out in the car on the way home.
Hope everyone is having a great day :D

Sterla-HAHA!I just read your "why is my son up at 5am blowing rapberries?" Summers been doing that heaps lately too,its so funny! How cute and fun for Oliver that rock and ryme thing sounds! What a great idea!I should look into something like that! Thanks for the encouragement,i feel heaps better today she seems to be doing alot better. Thanks for your facebook thing,i'll have a look and send a request thing?
Blip-Thanks for the facebook thing too,I'll have a look, thanks also for everything,i hated to have a winge, its just good to hear about others etc,you made me laugh how Daz pretty much sucks on his hands, thats all summer does just lies there a while, then sucks her hands!!
Well, its a windy yuk day here, its freezing outside,Summer and DH are both having a sleep(DH hasnt been well)so i can hear him snoring here and so i thought id come on here and catch up with a few other things.Hope everryone else is keeping warm!

OMG what a day, I gave Sammy some apple for the 1st time this morning and she had a reaction. One eye puffed right up and both eyes were teary and she SCREAMED for about 1.5 hours then fell asleep for 40 minutes and then screamed for another 1.5 hours. By middday, the sweelign had gone down but we still went to the Dr to check it out and she confirmed that she also thinks it's an allergic reaction. So we cannot give Sammy any fruit until we see the paed next Tuesday which was our follow up visit from her weight issues...I HOPE she is not allergic to fruits, we may be referred to a specialist in allergies for children.
Sorry no personals today as I am completely exhausted. might come back on tonight once I have caught up on a bit of sleep.

Moose:  Oh dear, poor Sammy, and poor you! I hope she's feeling better.
-
Pj- Im glad i could help. its hard knowing which way is up sometimes with people telling you what summer 'should' be doing. then some one says something differant! daz is a hand muncher and wasnt grabbing at toys, the phyiso we saw told me "it could be nurological...see a pead" well...i was freeked out! a week and a bit later he started to. she also said other things but what she told me to do made daz's reflux flair up so i stopped...and im not going back! she didnt like it when i told her that babies pick a 'favored' hand in utro...you know your baby better then they do! heck daz isnt blow rassberrys yet *but* he likes to 'stand up'
Sterla: the image i had in my head of Oli'd "rock and rhyme" was...well...just think Gangsta! im glad he had a good time (and you as well!)
Moose: oh you poor thing! poor sammy! was is canned apple or home made? i was reading some times bubs can react to the preserveitives (sp?) in the cans....i hope shes not allergic to apple (its the bestest fruit!) i hope your ok as well that'd be really scary! :comfort:
AFM: ran around like mad thismoring...thinking i had a MHCN appt...checked my phone...NOPE its tomorrow :eyeroll: so daz and i went and did some shopping! he's a typical male...shopping=sleep! haha had a look at some new clothes (i've got a friends 30th next week...and its a lunch)and i realised how much my body has changed post-baby! lets just say i dont fit into 'faceoff' jeans anymore...or any of the cheapy tops that at made for little chinese people (i dont mean to offend any one...but you know the type..) and it made me feel depressed as i've gone though my cupbord again and thrown out more clothes....it doesnt help that my mother has bought me a few new things and they're very much 'old mummy' clothes. which while practical - i'd never leave the house in!
But in happier news the cuple that live next door to DH and i are expecting their first! she's 20weeks (i'm guessing!) this week. her DH had asked me about my car when we got 'the kermit' (my wagon!) and where we got it and i found out yesterday that she's expecting! i think my eyes will turn green if some one else i know tells me their UTD! but it'll be good for me (selfish i know!) to have another 'new mum' near by and my DH said "if its a girl we'll be in truble" as one of my cousens got married to the 'boy next door' haha. but i did offer if she (towards the end) needs any enteraintment or company or even an emgergancy support person for while she's labouring at home or needs something to let me know... any whooo i better go finish cooking this apple for Daz...then its on to carrot! and some where inbetween cooking tea for DH and i!
hope every one is having a good night

Hi everyone,
ok, Sammy is better now, her eyes is lot less wollen and has gotten better over the day but wow, that was intense, and of course I was by myself most of the day as Dh had gym and slept in/napped as he is working the night shift and won't be home til later.
Sterla: Awesome about your MG, I love mine and was disappointed I missed it today but hey thats what happens when you have kids, sometimes you have to fit into their schedule. I'll have to look into an activity like Rock and Rhyme for Sammy, I know she's love it, she LOVES music and dancing.
PJ: your cream will be on its way tomorrow, hope it works for Summer... I can totally understand about the frustration of people telling you what your bub SHOULD be doing, etc...Just go with your guts, you spend 98% of the time with her. As for tummy time, try rolling a towel under her chest to support her and sit eye contact with her..mirrors are awesome distraction. I found that once Sammy learned to roll, we can't keep her off her tummy now! LOL Blip is right as well, if she likes being on your chest or daddy's chest, it will strenghten her neck as well. Hang in there love, I'm sure she'll come around in no time.
Blip: Aww about the new clothes, you'll get your body back, it just may take a little longer than expected! Go buy yourself a nice top, Target has a good sale on starting tomorrow, a little retail therapy always feels good!! LOL at having everyone around you UTD, just enjoy Daz for the moment but I know, I do miss my bump sometimes too, but am ok to wait for a while and enjoy all the "1st "with Sammy before adding another one to the lot. I cook all fruit and veges for Sammy as well and she eats organic rice cereal so let's just hope its a temporary intolerance with the apple, weird thing is that She LOVED IT and ate so much this am! Anyway, she still loved her sweet potato tonight which was good to see she didn't associate food=sick.
Antheia: How are you coping love? Hope the kids are being good to you
Jords: How is Winter and yourself??
Ok, off to have a nice hot bath and then bound for bed. Sammy has this "great" new habit of waking up at 5:30am 5:45am EVERYDAY! It's a bit hard on the old system, expecially in winter, lol! AT least she is now back to sleeping til 2:00am to 3:00am which gives me at least 5 hours straight sleep.
Okies, thats it for Moose for tonight. I most likely won't be on much over the next few days as we have the Christening this Sunday and all the IL's are in town, visiting plus cooking a lunch for 35, shopping, etc etc, you should see Sammy in her little dress, I nearly melted she looked so cute! I'll post the piccies next week.
Ciao bella's hope you have a good night

moose-Heck!!How scarey!Thats always been my worry once introducing new foods!!Poor little lovey and poor you!Glad it settleddown! Thanks for the cream,im being positive! Thanks for the advice,i will try mirrors as i have noticed she likes them!thanks i'll let you know how we go!
Blip-aww,i know how you feel,i cant fit into anything,i had to buy some new things(or just still wear my maternity clothes)then i didnt want to buy too much because i thought what if i do loose some eventually?I cant winge though,im the biggest pig, especially now its gotten colder!I think we seem to change shape too, naughty bubbies fault,(and all the cravings heehee)
Im being a home body today,i was going to go to the shops but have a friend i havent seen in years visiting tomorrow so thought id bake some cookies and have a much needed tidy up,its so windy here i was going to take summer outside as the suns out but i think we'll get blown awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
moose: thank-you  the sad part is - my body is (as much as possable) back to pre-baby. its just i have alot of loose skin around my belly (thanks to my sexy strech marks, a few of which are like half a cm wide!) plus i think my hips may be a little wider and my chest...well i've only got small D cup boobies but my rib cage feels bigger KWIM? but i might go to tagret and get something because now for this friens 30th we're going to another suburb for shopping :wall: i really dont want to but a) she's not got meany friends b) shes a little slow as she's lead a very, very sheltered life due to servier epalepsi (sp?) and c) if i dont take he i'll feel really bad and hate myself for it...ohh and her SIL (a friend of mine) cant make it because of her kids :wall: so it'll be fun...but the upside DH, Daz and I are going to the snow (hopefully) so that'll make up for it! i hope sammy is better today!
Pj- yeah, its hard but i guess we grew our bubbas...so we can be proud! i hope summer is going better with the tummy time!
AFM: had the MCHN appt today. daz is 6.905kg! so almost 7kg and 63cm long! she was happy with his development. dont see her again for another 2months! YaY! he's having a good day today with very little relfux. as soon as we got home from the MCHN he was SOUND alseep...and he'll be waking up soon-ish...or now haha...
hope every one is having a good day!
-
A selfish post today, sorry
I think (I hope) Oliver is going through a growth spurt. He has been waking three times a night for the past three nights... He's also not been having very long sleeps through the day (yesterday he had a total of just over 1 hour for the entire day). I am exhausted and feel so teary... I haven't felt this drained since Oliver's first few weeks. Even now, Oliver won't go to sleep and he's been awake since before 7am :(
-
:comfort:  sterla you're doing good! maybe take Oli for a quick drive? see if the car ride conks him out?
-
Thanks Blip . Oliver finally went down and then slept for about 50 minutes. It took about 2.5 hours for him to go to sleep from the first time I noticed he looked tired. It's amazing... having those 50 minutes to myself has made such a difference. I feel much better now... Now, let's just hope that Oliver doesn't find his next sleep for2.5 hours again!
-
Sterla-you poor thing, glad oly had that little sleep so you could have some time to yourself, its amazing how much just that makes us feel better!summer has been waking in the night too and i wandered the same thing then i watched a dvd saying are they really hungry or just using us to help them get themselves back to sleep so last night i tried to let her go a bit like it said but she kept on so i went in and she was all out of her blankets and somehow sleeping bag and was cold but she wouldnt go baclk to sleep without a bottle but she only had about half so unsure if she was really hungry or not, wish they could tell us!shes been real clingy and wingy too and biting everything maybe teeth but no sign of any yet.Hope you have a better afternoon, itf funny,i dont know how i coped the first few weeks, summer only has to get up once a night lately and im a mess!!hope our little monkeys are better tonight!!
-
Another bad night. Oliver was up every 3 hours. I'm tired and he's tired, and we have our housewarming party today... He's been fighting his day sleeps, but I've managed to send him off... and this is how: he's in his baby carrier facing me, I'm rocking him continuously, his nursery rhymes cd is playing, he has his dummy and then a cloth nappy over his head to block his vision so he can't get distracted... The things we do to get babies to sleep! Having said that, he has been asleep for 1.5 hours now, so that's good news! Hopefully he'll be in a good mood for the housewarming now.
-
sterla: aww...must be a growth spert! and yes the things we do! i looked like a nutter walking around our FROUNT yard yestrday with daz...he's a noesy one!
i hope your house warming goes well!
