Peach: Hey! I don't really talk to other mums at Rock & Rhyme, but I am starting to get friendly with a few mums at my MG. We have two more sessions before it's up to us to organise. I think it will be good then, less formal and chance for more chatting :). I have sort of been using my MCNs - I have 18 now, so almost enough to go full time. I have 11 Baby Beehinds (6 hemp fitted, 4 bamboo fitted, and one minky magicalls). There is a shop in town that sells them, so I got most of mine from there, but you can order them online really easily from the Baby Beehinds website. I got my magicall from there, and it only took a few days to arrive. The bamboo fitted are softer and the most absorbent, but take longer to dry - the hemp are slightly less absorbent but are much quicker drying (which is handy for Tassie weather). Just remember you need covers for those ones, but not for the magicalls. I've got a few of other brands - I've got a couple of Itti Bittis which I really like, as they're much smaller fitting (not that much bigger than a disposable). I'm still new to it all, but am finding them to be pretty good.
Wow, wow and wow about all of Winter's milestones! What a clever girl :).
I'm glad the sleeping is getting better. I hope sleep school goes well.
Blip: I know what you mean about snuggles... I just can't picture Oliver as a big kid. I would love him to be a baby forever! :D
AFM: Oliver is finally starting to look like he might roll from back to tummy... maybe. He's been doing it the other way for ages, but has never seemed interested in trying to roll the other way. Maybe he's not an overly active baby, cause he's doesn't seem close to crawling or anything like your bubs. He is pretty close to sitting though - he can sit for a few seconds on his own sometimes. Mostly Oliver likes standing though! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he walks before he crawls!
Sorry for babbling again... bit tired I think.
Goodnight :)

Peach: Yay for Winter & all her milestones, can't believe she is moving about on her tummy, clever girl! I think she might be the first one to crawl by the sounds of things! Lauren is getting much better at rolling tummy to back although her arm keeps getting stuck underneath her, she is slowly starting to work out how to move it. Its great Winter is doing so well on her solids. I would love to try Lauren on different solids but at the moment we are fairly restricted as every chance I get I have to give her formula made into jelly as she takes so little from her bottles. Lauren was born 2.65kg (5pd 12) so was very tiny to start with but is now about 6.5kg don't ask me how with the amount she takes. Sometimes I think she is like those cars that run on the smell of an oily rag, she gets one sniff of her bottle & that's all she needs!
Sterla: That's great Oli is getting close to sitting. Lauren loves standing too, she goes nuts in her jolly jumper & will happily jump around for up to 45mins at a time - great way to wear her out for nice big sleep. :)
Blip: Thanks for the tip of the Nuby cup, have been looking at them but thinking the teat might be too close to her bottle teat which she already has a bad association. Have been trying her on the Heinz baby basics range, no luck yet but will keep trying. So far she just likes grabbing the handles, not so keen to bring it up to her mouth but she will get there one day surely.....
AFM: Feel like I take one step forward & two steps back with her sometimes. She had such a better day with her bottles yesterday & now today she has hardly taken anything. Am about to try her on a dreamfeed :crossfingers: which I'm hoping she might take something at least. So far it has been 170mls for the day. :wall: Had to reschedule the Pixie photo, poor little poppet she was crying & crying, red red cheeks & lots of dribble...could be the start of her teething I think. She was so irritable this afternoon. Any tips on the best teething products to use? I know some of your bubs have already been through it. Hope you all have a good night.

18 MCN's is nothing. I have around 60 LOL!
Poor Orson has another ear infection and perforated ear drum. So today we got a referal to see an ENT specialist and he's now on his 3rd dose of antibiotics. Poor bubba. He'll probably need grommets.
The real estate agent is coming on Saturday to take photos of our house for our sale ad. It's all happening so quickly!
We're also going away next week for 3 weeks to QLD. However, i bought myself an iPhone so i dare say i can still keep in touch on here! Thank goodness, other wise i might get withdrawals, lol.

HI everyone,
Blip: So with you on the cuddles and that's great that Daz can roll without spewing, I know the feeling, Sammy still get spewie and I have to wash her quilt 3 times week (at least) but she's having so much fun rolling, I figure..meh, what's a bit more washing. Your talk at school sounded like fun, I wonder whether it put off a few of the girls who possibly wanted a child early in life. How did your tupperware party go, I LOVE tupperware, I use it with Sammy ALL the time, her sippy cup is tupperware and its awesome as well as all her little bowl, etc, got them as a gift last Xmas.
Peach: Xmas in July is a tradition in my DH's family, we still celebrate Xmas ( trust me I am a Xmas FREAK) in December but its basically a family gathering and we buy a 20$ present and have a game with it, eat lots of good foods and have a few drinks...just like the real Xmas but dulled down a bit. 3 teeth on Winter eh? Sammy only got the bottom 2 but am sure there is another few coming through soon. That great that you are starting to become good friends with mum at mg, I really enjoy my mg too. As for walking, we still walk everyday but I've had to tone down a bit as both Dh and I are STILL fighting this STUPID flu, we got better and over the week-end fell back sick again. Good luck with the sleep clinic
Antheia: Did DH finish up his training in the army? Poor Poor Orson, I hope he gets better soon, he hasn't had much luck poor poppet and that you also get the break you deserve but with moving houses, etc sound like you'll be a very busy mummy for a while to come. Hope the move goes well for you and that your house sells quickly. Sammy is also on 3 meals a day now and LOVES vegetables, but with Orson having ear infections, it may hurt him to swallow too
Sterla: Every time I read about Rock and Rhyme, I keep thinking I MUST check it out for Sammy, she jst loves music so much, I know she'd have a bal. Am so pleased you are having a good time at mg, it would have been a pity that after waiting for so long that you didn't get a nice group of mums. I can see your MCN is tuning into a bit of an addiction eh? lol I really wish I 'd boought them ebfore Sammy was born, maybe when we get tenants in our house, but for sure for bubba #2. As for Oli walking before crawling, my friend's DD did that, she was like a truck, she got up and walked
never crawled.
Yvette: not sure if I said welcome or not, so welcome! Lauren looks so cute and chubby! I know that when my DH was a baby he refused to drink from a bottle as well and my MIL plugged one of the hole of the sippy cup ( a tupperware one) and he drank from that, that could be a go too. Sammy drinks fine from a sippy cup at the moment, she understands it is different than drinking from a bottle. Good luck with all this, it can't be easy, is she still ok weight wise or are they categorising her as underweight for her age?
AFM, things are cruising along, we are now on 3 meals a day and it's going great still. My latest hurdle is I find that Sammy is starting to get bored with her current toys and I am running out of ideas to keep her busy. I've had a good look on the internet and got some new suggestions but I need some new materials to work with LOL! I might go check out the toys sale and pick up a couple new things like an activity board and stuff like that. We start her swimming lessons tomorrow, SO EXCITED!! I just know she will love it, as will Daddy! We've go an engagement party tomorrow arvo and sunday lunch at friends so once again, we are busy busy. Will try to post but I dare say, I'll be back on Monday
Have a great week-end everyone!

Good morning
Sorry no personal right now. Just here to have a whinge about lack of sleep :(. Oliver went down at 7.30pm last night - woke at 10pm when I went to bed, went down again at 11pm, woke up at 1.15am and then wouldn't go back to sleep until 3.45am! He wasn't grumpy or crying - just lying there in his cot blowing raspberries. I left him for ages hoping he'd just drift back off to sleep like he usually does, but he eventually started getting worked up, so I got him up, changed his nappy, tried putting him down again, and he still wouldn't sleep. Eventually I tried feeding him again, and he went off after about 2 mins! However, then he woke an hour later for a proper feed. Went down again about 5am and then my DH's alarm woke Oliver at 7am... and so far Oliver has not gone down for a nap yet today. He's not cranky thank goodness, but I know he so needs sleep (so do I!)... I really hope it was just a once off :crossfingers:. I've worked out I got a grand total of 5 hours sleep last night: 2 hours + 1 hour + 2 hours. Okay, whinge over.
-
Peach: wow busy little bee arent we?! hope you have a good day with the girl from BB! and no- that stupid women hasnt called. but my phone battery died...and i only *just* put it on charge winter sounds like she's powering along there!
sterla:  about oli's waking up. hopefully it is a one off...but it sounds good about the rolling. daz also has a thing for standing. they look sooo cute with the bug nappy bum standing up dont they! who knows maybe he will be like "oh sorry mummy i dont do the crawling thing. thats so 3 months ago" and just start walking! i girl i went to school with went from cawling to RUNNING. ...upstairs! haha. you and your MCN ...i wonder if they'll make "MCN re-hab centers"... i hope oli goes down for a nap for you soon! Ohh and as for being a baby forever i'm like that with daz. but i can already see what he'll be like as s toddler- he'll be like me a very, very cheeky! i can see oli as the shy type!
yvet: i used the nuby cup with daz yesterday and thismoring - it feels like a bottle (the teaty part) but the flow is very, very differant. alot more comes out - so it may help that she gets more quicker (i know when daz 'out grows' the bottle teat he wont take it) so it may help that way KWIM? as for sleep school i dont know what they'll do. i can understand why they do thease things, but i also think that it can be taken a little too 'hard lined' at time. but thats just me. i guess what annoied me about it was this mother (her son was a Prem baby birthed at 29wks) is shes talking about 'not having any time to her self' and being tired waking up in the middle of the night, and that he 'needs to nap' and all of that. i think she's forgetting her baby is a HUMAN too...and humans do what they want. i hope sleep school helps you out i guess at the end of the day you do what is right for your family. i can tell you i have my opions becuase the nurse who i delt with when daz was in hospital with 'failue to thrive' did what she'd do in sleep school, and she kind of made me go VERY MUCH the other way...and i ended up telling her what i thought of it and lets just say she want at all happy with me by the time i'd finished my rant and rave at her!
moose: he still spews just not as much! but the mat hes on i just baby wipe it down! its like rubber alaphbet tiles the only downer is when the spew goes between letters that arent in very well! YaY for sammy and solids! im glad its going well! as for the toys daz is only JUST starting to take an intrest in them! its been faces and clothes untill now..ohh and watching our cats! hope you have an enjoyable weekend!!
AFM: last night went to my mum and dads. ended up seeing my aunt and uncle (mums sister and her hubby) plus my nan (mum's mum) PLUS my gran (dads mum) and my other aunt and uncle (dads sister and her hubby) which was really nice as they'd (dads side) had gone to a funral for a person who was good friends with my gran (she lives about an hour and a half away) so she saw daz, she hasnt seen him since he was 2 months old! then after they left (about 8:30) i gave daz some solids, as my mum and dad have a high chair. now i *knew* it was dads, but i found out last night it was daz's grate, grate gran's high chair. which my granpa fixed up parts of for dad to use! so its been used by grans mum, gran, dad, me and daz! so its pritty specal! only thing was DH had to help me hold him as it dosent have staps (and its made of wood!) but he loved his sweet spud! and his apple he is still a little iffy on i think he liks his mash thick. and not runny! but he liked it and my mother was 'wrong' it'd help him sleep he was stil up at 3am for a feed then mummy and daddy snuggles untill DH went to work and was up at 9am. but i like our rythem. its very crusey. Oh and hopefully this weekend i'll day bub-bye to my car...its been sold...now we just have to exchange the cheqe for the car haha
i hope every one is having a good day! and hope that every one has a crusey weekend
-
After an hour and a half Winter has finally fallen asleep! DP is out so its solo flying tonight which makes it a bit harder... Anyway!
How are you all going? And the Bubs?
Blip- Full house at your folks, That must have been really nice and how cool about the high chair! Did the cheque come through for your car? Winter dosnt sleep longer with solids either, darn it!
Sterla- Did you manage a sneaky nanna nap today? I feel your pain with the lack of sleep, it sucks hey. That great Oli is standing up like a strong boy! Does he still use his bumbo much?
Moose-Oh swimming lessons, fun!! Let us know how it all went. Hope the engagement party goes well. Winter was the same with her toys so I got her a couple of things for the next age bracket from target which is good, I even find myself giving her things that I wouldnt usually but shee is into it, like yesterday I gave her a paper bag when she was in her high chair and she loved it... sometimes its the unlikely things she is into.
Antheia- Far out, 60 mcns is insane! Have you been using them from the start? Which brands do you use? Hope you have a good time in qld. Oh how did Lily's 'super nanny' go??
Hugs to poor wee Orson.
Yvettmj- Thats no good Lauren wasnt well, man that sounds so hard about her bottle refusal. With Winters teeth I Give her braurs teething relief but if she is really bad I give her baby panadol but try not to give it unless really needed.
Ugh DP and his mates have just gotten back from the tavern bliiiiind so Im off to make sure they stay out of trouble and stay quiet. If Winter gets woken up I will spit the dummy. Oh poor Bub has come down with something too, her nose has been runny this afternoon and she's breathing through her mouth sorry to cut the post short,
Hope you all have a great weekend :)
Oh man Ive been trying to post this for like 10 mins, thank goodness I cut and pasted.
Ok so I tried to get on BB for another 3 hrs last night to post this but it wasnt working, so here I am a day later. DP is asleep on the couch and I just got Winter to sleep after 25 mins of solid crying. Gave her some panadol poor Bub. Dont know who we got sick off but she is so congested and snotty I feel so awful for her. Im giving her less solids and lots of boobie today to try and give her some antibodies.
Hope your all well.
-
How is everyone enjoying their weekend?
Yvettemj: I hope Lauren is a bit better today. It's a shame that you had to reschedule your Pixie photo session, but these bubs don't always (or ever, lol) go by a schedule! When will you be getting the photos done now?
Antheia: 60 MCNs!!! Wow. I thought you probably had a lot, but that is A LOT! Poor Orson! I hope he's feeling better with the antibiotics. Wow, that is all happening very quickly with selling your house - mind you, it does happen very quickly! The house DH and I bought was the third one we'd looked at, and the first one we'd put an offer on. We went from renters to home owners very, very quickly! Yay for the iPhone! My DH has one and loves it (sometimes I wonder if he'd like to marry it ). It's great having a phone with internet access - I go on BB from everywhere! :)
Moose: Definitely check out something like Rock & Rhyme in your area. Our state library does them all over the state. It's so good, cause Oliver gets to see other little people, hear the songs, and I get a chance to remind myself of all the songs I knew as a kid (and learn some new ones too). I often sing the songs I hear there. Actually, (this is for all you girls) - this is one:
A smooth road, a smooth road, a smooth road
A bumpy road, a bumpy road, a bumpy road,
A rough road, a rough road, a rough road
A hole!
For each line bump bub up and down on your knee getting progressively 'rougher', then for the hole lift bub to the ground. Oliver loves it!
Christmas in July sounds like fun! Christmas once a year just isn't enough!!!
Blip: I know, this MCN addiction comes on fast and strong! But once you see all the awesome nappies out there (and you have your DH's tax return handy *insert evil laugh here*) it's hard not to go a little crazy! Hope selling your car goes well.
AFM: I'm so excited and proud! Oliver can sit up on his own! He's sort of been doing it for a little while, but today I sat him down and he just stayed there. He can lean a bit one way and correct himself. Of course he still sometimes falls backward, occassionally forwards, but for the most part can sit there quite well. He can even reach down to pick up a toy and sit up straight again! DH and I went camera-happy and got some pics and video of him sitting too. I can't believe how quickly it happens!
Oliver had another bad night last night - this time he slept from 7.30pm - 1am which is great, but then he decided to wake up every 1.5-2 hours for the rest of the night, before deciding it was time to get up for the day at 5.30am! Oh, and then he went from 9am until 3pm without a proper sleep (he got about 10 mins). He doesn't get cranky, but you can tell he's so tired - yet he just wouldn't sleep! He's gone down now and will hopefully have a decent sleep :crossfingers:.
And lastly... we are going to start Oliver on solids tomorrow. I have finally set my mind to it, and am happy to start now - he's so close to 6 months, and I'm desperately hoping that it might help him sleep better at night!
I hope you are all having a great weekend :).
-
Peach - you posted when I was writing mine!
That's no good about Winter being a bit sick :(. I hope she has a good, long sleep and feels better soon .
-
peach: aww about winter! i hope she's feeling better now! as LOL at your DP. i always laugh at DH when he's pastared, its hard NOT to laugh at them. as for daz's sleeping i've given up the idea he'll 'sleep though' any time soon...but i love the morning snuggles too much LOL
Sterla: selling the car went really well. kind of sad seeing it drive off *sniff* haha
how'd Oli go with solids? pull some funny faces? its all fun and games from here on in! and just wait for the Poo- they can clear a room hah!
AFM: had a quiet one this weekend car was sold yesterday, sad to see it drive off. my "igbus" was my first car after all. but we have the "kermit" (my wagon) and i love it almost as much! daz has been really good the last few days. last night DH and i tapped RAGE - it had a MJ special on. so we have over 6hrs of MJ music videos! we're happy. daz seems to like them too. i almost got a CUTE photo of him on his side watching the TV rather intently! other then that not much to report. other then i'm having a re-think about things happening IRL....but other then that all is fairly crusey in the land of Blip hope every one is having a nice weekend!
:wiggle:
-
Blip: Awww, that's sad about selling your car. My DH gets quite nostalgic about his first car :) Cool about the MJ special! Glad Daz was enjoying it.
AFM: Well, we gave Oliver solids for the first time last night, and he took to it so well! We gave him some farex mixed with breast milk, and he didn't spit any back out, or even make any funny faces (which was slightly disappointing, lol). He didn't quite finish it, but had a fair bit. We're going to give him some tonight too, but we're waiting for him to wake up from a nap.
Also, DH, Oliver and I went on our first family drive today. The weather was awful, but that's okay. We drove about half an hour north, stopped for lunch, and drove back. Oliver was a good boy and slept the whole time which was good.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend.
-
Hey Ladies,
Well, what a week-end, am glad its over, but only 4 more sleeps til we go to Melbourne!! WOOT WOOT!
Sammy's 1st swimming lesson was awesome, she was so good, didn't cry whatsoever and really seemed to enjoy herself. You can tell she just LOVES being in the water. She had a solid 2 hour sleep afterwards though, she was buggered after all the splashing around. Daddy has the proudest smile on his face and apparently it turned out to be a bit of a work out for him too. We also went to check the Target toy sale and bought Sammy a couple of new toys, one for the car and one Baby Einstein little keyboard thingie. Man, toys are SO EXPENSIVE...thats ridiculous. There was a Fisher Price little xylophone thingo that just rolls and does a few sounds and it was 38$ on SPECIAL!!!The engagement party was great too, it was the first time we fed Sammy some solids out of the house and no problems at all. She had her bottle and DH took her for a walk hoping she would fall asleep, well came back from the walk, she wasn't and 3 miinutes being back in the noisy pub, she was fast asleep! LOL We got home a bit after 9pm and had a few friends coming back around for a few more bevies and somehow ended up in bed at 2am!! 6am came up pretty quickly let me tell ya, we needed a few berocca's to keep us going yesterday, thankfully I drank lots of water so wasn't too hungover as well as being tired. And Lastly, we had a lunch in our friends front yard yesterday afternoon and that was lovely. I brought a big blanket for Sammy to have a roll on and we had a good time. 9pm bedtime for mummy last night! lol
Sterla: A family drive is always nice even in not so nice weather :) and YAY Oli is on solids, sounds like he was definately ready for it, you will start noticing a change in her sleep patterns, Sammy sleeps so much better now that she is on 3 meals a day...enjoy the new and oh so very smelly poo's coming your way. They are heading for another growth spurt at 6 months, so it could also be that, but I daresay that solids will definatly make a difference. Thanks for the lovely song, I love it!
Blip: aww about your car, you do always get a little attached to a certain car. I know when we sold the Starlett to get the Xtrail, it was really sad because we'd done so many road trips, camping trips, etc. too funny about the MJ special, didn't you use to listen to MJ when you were pg? Maybe that's why Daz likes it so much! AS for the sleeping through the night, well, you may also see a difference once he is fully on solids, but enjoy your morning cuddles while you can :)
Peach: LOL at DH coming home a bit ****y! and poor Winter has a cold :( If she is really snotty, I can highly recommend using the Fess little Noses saline spray and aspirator, whenever Sammy has got a slightly blocked nose, we use it and its really gentle on them and gets the snot out. Sammy doesn't even mind it anymore because she knows she will breathe better afterwards..hope she gets better soon.
Yvette: how is Lauren feeling now? Did you have a nice week-end? For Sammy's teething, I use Bonjela teething gel. I know there was some reports coming about Bonjela but it's for a different product, the baby teething gel is perfectly fine to use and I also used Children's panadol when she seems in a lot of pain or has a low fever as they sometimes get when teething. Get her some nice chew toys too.
Antheia: have fun in Qld!
Alrighty, well another busy week ahead of me, so better get started! OH I forgot to mention, I have been attacked on 3 seperate occasions by a magpie on my daily walk last week, basically there are 2 entrances/exits of my building I cannot use cause the Magpie swoops me..STUPID BIRDS! ok daughter is awake, gotta go

Hello Ladies
Hope you all had a good weekend. Have a busy week ahead so thought I better post while I can and Lauren is down sleeping.
Moose: Glad to hear Sammy enjoyed her swimming lessons. We are booked in for an orientation class in a fortnight, I am really looking forward to it & hope it is something Lauren will enjoy doing with DH so they have something special to share together. I agree toys can be so expensive have you checked out the baby markets in your State? if they have one near you they are great. We get heaps of bargains there for Lauren. check out there website Baby &Kids Market= Thanks for the teeting tips as well, she seems to have been better with it lately.
Sterla: Yay for Oli startning on solids! Lauren loves the Rafferty's banana porridge at the moment, it is another way we can get more formula into her as well without the screaming match on the bottle so that is good. Definitely be prepared for some smelly poos now. Sounds like you had a really nice drive together is so nice to be able to do things as a family. Can't believe Oli is sitting up on his own that is fantastic & very advanced! You may have a little einstein on your hands!
Blip: Lol about Daz watching MJ, he sounds so cute! thanks for the tips on the Nuby cup, Lauren is slowly getting the hang of her Heinz baby basics one now and I am thinking with no teat there is no bottle association which can only be a good thing so I am thinking we will keep trying her on this one for a while.
Peach: Do hope Winters cold improves & she is sleeping better for you soon.
AFM: The last two days in a row Lauren has drunk her first bottle of the day at 11pm during her dream feed arrgghhhh. :wall: Every bottle offered before that at various intervals during the day was refused and met with another screaming match. It makes it hard that she won't even take water so I get worried about her getting dehydrated. Will just have to keep trying with her cup, she is getting there slowly but keeps spitting it back out. *sigh* just as well we love her to bits & she is a happy baby otherwise. She has been really giggling & laughing a lot more lately, had her in hysterics this morning singing "You make me feel like dancing.." to her in her highchair after breakfast it was so funny. Every time I got to the Woo! part she would throw her head back & laugh. Had a nice lunch at my MILs yesterday she was very impressed with Lauren's new rolling skills from back to tummy. Off to gymaree this morning, Lauren is up to level 2 now then visitors this afternoon. Speaking of which I better go get dressed - still in my PJ's! Any tips for taking bubs travelling & on planes?? It is our first big trip we fly to Cairns on Thursday, do hope she goes OK. Hope you all have a great day.
-
moose: wow busy weekend! and i did listen to MJ whilest preg! lol at sammy going strait tosleep in a noisy pub - daz is like that too! as for sleeping though with solids i get the feeling daz will be like his dad - hollow legged! Woo for Melbourne! its going to be cold here the next few days...but it almost always is in winter!
AFM: heading off to the shops soon - to cancel the insrance i had on my old car, which is good because it'll mean that i get some $$ back, which i can then spend on the tuppwaer i bought and maybe a new shirt. daz had a funny nights sleep last night went down from 10pm (as per normal) and was up at 1am - but wasnt hungry he wanted to roll over and talk! haha so i bought im into bed with DH and i and he was up at 5:30 for a feed then slept untill 9:30. the only bad thing was DH started work at 6am so he's up at 5, at about ten past he gets a phone call from his boss, the warehouse he works in got broken into. which is a little hairy becuase DH worked Saturday and he was the one who locked up. but i told him if they'd been broken into an alarm went off - he's put it on. im sure i'll hear all about it tonight. i know how scary it can be my first job i did a 'close' with superviser that night we got broken into! (mind you though it was really funny watching the video...it would have done well for "worlds dumbest crims" haha)
I better be off...daz sounds like he's ready to finish his bottle and then im bolting out the door! lol
hope every one is having a good day!
Vyett: SNAP lol posting at the same time as me LOL. i can understand the bottle averion darren very nearly had it! i know a bub im my MG has bottle averion (he was a prem and still has a feeing tube because of his avertion) but he seems to be ok with the sippy cup (his mum was talking about them) as for travleing in plains i've been told feed bubs so that the ears dont pop...hope you have a wonderful day!
-
Hey Girls,
So much to say so little time! You have all been doing so much.
Yvette- How sweet are those baby markets? we went to the one doen the goldie yesterday morning(with Winter covered up in her pram to avoid germ spread) there are so many awesome bargains.
How lovely is the sound of their laughing? I live for that sound. Hope gymboree goes well today. How long are you guys in Cairnes? Hope you have a good time :)
Blip- Thats sweet you get some cash back from your insurance. Hope your DH dosnt get into trouble from his boss.
Sterla- How exciting Oli is on solids now! Glad it went well for you both and there wasnt too much mess... although sometimes that is the fun part :) And how very clever of him to be sitting up all by himself! Its hard to believe it wasnt long ago they couldnt even hold up their own heads hey. Oh and you just wait for the first solid poo! Your in for it!!
Moose- Im so sorry couldnt help but have a giggle about the magpie... its always funny when its not you. Im terrified of them and plovers during season. And they just keep chasing! lol
Oh swimming lessons sound so fun, I really want to get Winter into it but we dont have a pool so wouldnt be able to keep it up after the lessons ended. Thats great Sammy has Daddy time. And word about the toys, so ridiculous, but irresistable sometimes. Markets are awesome though, I got a fisher price piano xylaphone for $5! Hope you guys have a great time in melb :)
AFM- DP took Winter to the Dr yesterday and he checked her ears and reccommended a few over the counters, poor little thing coughed all night, so we didnt get much sleep. Now DP is getting it too, but I seem to be fighting it well thankfully.
Gave Winter her first ever rusk stick today, oh my goodness she LOVED it! The mess was horrific lol I had to go shake her out outside :) Everytime she would drop it she would winge, but it kept her amused in her highchair for almost an hour!!!
At the markets yesterday there was a lady selling some baby beehinds but unfortunately they were all of small size except the bamboo one size which I scored, then went online last night and ordered some all-in-ones so hoping to get Winter in cloth full time. Still in sposies when we go out, but thats why I got these for as Ill still use terry at home.
Darn I can here her, more to say but better go,
Hope your all well :)

Good afternoon ladies :)
Moose: Wow, another busy weekend for you and Sammy! That's fantastic that Sammy is loving swimming. Won't it be great when summer comes and our little bubs can have a nice splash to cool off! I know what you mean about toys being expensive - I'm so bad, I'm always buying toys for Oliver. Lol about the magpie!
Blip: Hope you had fun spending money! Did you buy Daz some cool new threads? Haha, Oliver has had a few nights like that, where he wakes up and decides it's time to play. Oliver has unfortunately got into the habit of waking up at 5.30am, has a feed, but then decides it's time to lie awake in his cot talking to himself and blowing raspberries. I leave him until he starts getting upset, then it's usually a nappy change and another feed before he'll go back to sleep, and by then it's 7am... so I don't get much (or any) sleep from 5.30 onwards most mornings. That is so cool and funny about Daz loving MJ! Maybe he does somehow remember it from when you listened to it when you were pg?
Yvettemj: Oliver sitting happened very suddenly. We put him down, and he just stayed there! And already he is getting better and better at it. I am constantly amazed at how quickly these bubs learn, and how differently they learn. Like, Oliver can sit, but he still can't roll from back to tummy. That is great that Lauren is such a happy, giggly baby. Has everyone else noticed their bub becoming heaps and heaps more aware and giggly, etc in the past month? I just feel like Oliver is a completely different baby from a month ago. A month ago I'd pull a funny face and he'd look at me with interest, now I pull a funny face and he giggles at me. I think I have read that 5 months is a huge developmental time, so maybe that's it. Anyone else noticed that?
Peach: That's great about getting a Baby Beehind! Yeah, they'll be super handy when you're out, as they hardly leak at all. Oliver is in cloth full time now, except for over night when we put him in a sposie. But hey, one sposie a day aint bad. That's no good about the poor night's sleep.I hope Winter (and your DP) are feeling better soon, and that you manage to keep it away.
Antheia: How's that iPhone going? Have a great time in QLD!
AFM: We gave Oliver some more Farex last night, and he ate it all up! I kept wondering "shouldn't he be finished by now?", but he kept opening his mouth when I offered the spoon, and he wasn't spitting it out, so I guess he wanted it all. I'm wondering if I should make up a second tablespoon today if he eats it all up this evening, and see if he'll eat even more? And as for the first solids poo that you girls keep telling me about... well, it's yet to make it's appearance. Do any of you know if that's normal, as I was expecting one yesterday. Oliver generally goes a few days between poos, but I thought with solids one would come the next day, but nothing yet.
I'm still seeing whether starting solids is helping Oliver sleep at night, cause as I think I've mentioned, his sleep was awful.,. waking every three hours was a good night for us! But last night he slept from 8pm till 2am, then 2.30am to 5.30am... so only one wake up, and he's been having better day sleeps too. If he keeps it up, I'll certainly put it down to starting solids :).
We had MG this afternoon - our second last one (sniff). Today was really good. We all shared our birth experiences - some of the other mums had awful times. One had pre eclampsia, a couple of others had emergency c/s... the worst one though was one of the MCHNs running the group. She was in labour for 36 hours with a breech baby before having a c/s, except in those days it was general anaesthetic (sp?)... the baby was in distress, and she didn't see her baby until she was a little over a day old! :o
We talked about myths of motherhood and dealing with unwanted advice, which was good. Next week we're doing baby massage, so that should be heaps of fun! We're also starting to organise a contact list so we can meet up after the official sessions are over. I think I'm quite looking forward to that, because it should be a bit more relaxed, and all we'll have to do is talk, which is what we all want anyway ;).
Anyway, I better go get some nappies off the line while Oliver is still asleep, as it's supposed to be raining tomorrow (again). I hope you're all well :).

ello my lovies! take two! (had a power outage when is started typeing  )
Peach: Woo about getting the nappys! i hope you get your 'fluffy mail' soon eheh. as for DH getting in truble it was more the "did i do..." state of mind he was in.
Sterla: :jawdrop: thats insaine about the MCHN and the c-cect! YaY for Olis solids! daz hates the farix - i tried the organic raffities garden, but he still wont take it. so in his bottles it goes! eheh i'm evil!
AFM: Yesterday it ended up a mum from my MG came around. her son is soo cute...and trying to roll over. i get along with her fairly well...so i was nice to see some one "new" but daz freaked out when her son sqwarked...which was funny! today we saw the pead today. shock horror he agrred with me! he said darren looks fine, that we *could* do an ultrasound on his head. but i didnt want to - he was fine with it. he even told me not to bother going back to the phyiso! so that was nice. no fighting (for once haha) went to the shops got the rebate and wandered around toys are us. daz hates loud/moving toys lol. i showed him this laughing/vibrateing eliphant. he screamed...oops :P other then that havent done much. bought some chicken that im thinking of cooking and mashing up and seeing if daz will eat it. but im not sure...we'll see...
