hey girls, you know i told you about olly getting his face smashed up on the bus... well i reported it to the council who refered me to their lawyers who i sent an email of the story as you all heard it... and anyway they've sent me a personal injury claim form, complete with police report form and dr's certificate form. I had thought it was about reimbursing the medical costs (only $5.60) and suggested perhaps it would be appropriate to reimburse my bus fare too, if the first one eventuated. however i get the feeling this is something altogether different. i have been informed that i am acting as olly's agent for this claim. anyone got a lawyer partner/friend/self that can tip me off about what this is likely to be, ie does this mean Olly is sueing the bus people? Are we to expect an apology or a cash settlement or what? obviously i dont care about the $5.60, i was reporting to ensure that mishaps like this dont go unreported and unresolved. and coz you all said i should. so what do ya reckon?
-
Oh gee - no idea.. maybe it will mainly be an internal investigation and you will get an apology (and a free bus pass.. lol).. who knows. anything would be good (especially an apology).
Nadine - fingers crossed this cycle is it - stay away AF!!
Katie - Zara was 23 Feb but other than that the list looks right (from memory)... gee, we have lost a few ppl on the way, haven't we.. kinda sad.
Unforunately I am still feeling crap. Went to a carneval parade with the kids yesterday, stupid idea cause today I feel worse. I remember you were due before me and Ben just wouldn't come. It was a long wait for you...
-
You're doing the right thing! Free bus pass would be great. Apology would be even better. I'm sorry, i don't know anyone who might be able to help you - but my very good friend is studying law... I don't think he would be able to help though, sorry. Very best of luck with everything. Keep us up to date :-)
Yes, Snowy, we have lost alot of ladies. Shame i know.
It's really strange. Since Ben was born he usually hits milestones 2 weeks before a "birthday" (eg, 6 months, 8 months, 1 year). Its now 2 weeks before he is 2 and it seems as though he has suddenly began really talking! I feel as though i can really communicate with him now. He is now telling me that it's bed time, he wants something to eat/wants a drink etc... It's so fun!
OH! And i wrote that ben hated blankets? THAT NIGHT Ben wanted his doona on him (WOW!). Weird. Now he seems to be warming to the idea of blankets.
Nadine - more kiddies? yes. When? No idea. We talk about it often. But we think it's not a great idea to have a newborn when Dh is finishing his bachelor. At the end of this year we will be hitting a fork in the road and we dont know which way we will go yet (Oz or Germany). It a really difficult decision for us and we want to make sure we are doing the best thing for our family and future. We are still young ;)

Off to London for a week, so if I don't post, I have lost the battle for the laptop with DH, lol

Wow no posts for such a long time...
Hi girls i hope everyone is well.
Zara started 4 year old kinder this year and she loves it! She's so very grown up now, god i miss her when she's gone (10 hours p/w)
Aiden is such a boy! he loves getting dirty and is so very cheeky, yet very cute and hard to stay mad at!
And Cale...well poor little man has just been diagnosed at lactose intolerent so i feel very guilty bout giving him the wrong formula for the last 12 weeks! since he's been on the new formula he's such a happy smiley bub. gota go back to the pead next week for another check up.
Our house is in full renovation...we have the kitchen, 1 bathroom and 2 bedrooms to live in and have done for the last 8 weeks. The new part of the house should be finished within 2 weeks and then we start ripping the front out, OMG! It's going to be so worth it when it's finished.
Lara - have you found out if anything is going to happen?
Kaydee - maybe an aussie bub?
All the kids must now be 2? I hope they all had happy birthdays and got really spoilt and ate lots of cake!
Nadine - any new on #2?
Snowy - how are you travelling with bub #3?
Wilson - Milla is so very cute! Glad she's such a good bub
take care

narelle- glad to hear your family is going so well. how hard is it living in a renovating house? i cant imagine having one of my babies start 4yo kindy, and missing them! every daycare day (once a week) feels like a holiday to me...i have long luxurious showers (despite water restrictions) and revel in the freedom of only having a newborn to look after. so much free time, no playschool, hardly any demands. i try to do something for myself like sleep, shop or watch a movie, but it doesn't always happen. and i do love the moment when we are reunited at hometime... turns out i missed him after all!
nothing happening on the bus fiasco. i have given up. we still take the bus every week to go to playgroup, but i only ever use the easy fold umbrella pram now. once we did it with no pram at all, which meant olly had to walk to the bus stop and to the church and back again- he did so well! i was really impressed. even tho he was tired at some points and wanted to run off and explore at other moments, he walked the whole way and held my hand like i said. it took lots of praise and engagement.
i haven;t been around much as i'm dedicated to giving olly extra time and attention in an attempt to reduce the naughty factor - it seems to be working. the naughty monster has subsided, i'm so glad to say. he's hardly broken anything lately, it's a big releif and i have lower expectations/bigger tolerance now. Mylo is enormous. 5.8 kgs at 7weeks, thats a 2.5 kg gain! all that good vegan breastmilk i say. everyone is happy here and DH is once again saying we should have 10 kids. i reckon he should grow a uterus before saying that.
hows london snowy?
how was everyone's 2nd birthdays?

Hi ladies,
Well, all bubs are 2 now. That's amazing isnt it?
We had a quiet one this year. Dh and i decided to go away for the weekend, we had a nice time at a bird park, but Ben was so exhausted by the time we got home - he couldnt really enjoy the rest of his birthday. We went to the in-laws for dinner, but i had to rush out the door because i had to start a new German course that night. I should have just stayed home because i got lost and turned up 1 hour late!!
Sad thing is that nobody from Oz contacted us to congratulate Ben - apart from my mum who sent a package last week. It's made me a bit upset. This might sound a little bit selfish, but the only presents Ben got were from us - Dh's parents and grandparents gave me money to go and buy some small things for them because they "didnt know what to get him". But other than that. It just confirms how lonely we are/ I am. Grrrrrrrr. I mean, i have a huge family, and lots of friends, but the distance is heartbreaking.
-
Haha, i just read my last post again - im sorry im such a sook, you all must be sick and tired about me complaing about missing home :D
Ben got a couple of cards from Oz today, so im feeling (a bit) better.
Lara - lol at 10 kids! haha, you're right! WOW about the 2.5kg, amazing!
Narelle - that must be really annoying for Cale (and you of course). I'm happy you have found out what was wrong.
And well, to be honest it's much cheaper to have a bubba here - i think the healthcare system is much better in Germany and they take better care of you. We will see... It's a hard decision;)
Renovating must take alot out of you too, I hope you dont have to do much yourself.

Hi ladies,
Sorry I am MIA a lot, its just that well, there seems to be not much happening on the site in general... The bellybuddies for Oct (when I am due) changes a page every 2 weeks!! seriously! I kind of spend a lot more time on other sites there days where there is heaps to read every time I log on (like 3 pages!!!) Although I still love you guys here!
I'm feeling pretty good now. I was feeling awful for the past 2 weeks with nausea all day but it seems to have passed. I hope its a good sign that its over. We've got our first ultrasound in 2 weeks, so that will be so exciting!!!
Allegra is wonderful. She talks so much now and counts and knows how to answer questions. She is a bit of a miss knowitall but I think she may get that from me hahahahaha
Most of you know my Facebook details etc. You can generally get hold of me there or on email xxxx
Chats soon T x

Hi everyone!
Teena - glad to hear you are feeling better. I was still throwing up this week... arrrrrrrrg... Good luck for the scan in 2 weeks!!!
Katie - IKWYM, when Wolf turned 1 no one from Oz called and I was SO upset for DS (not that he cared at 1 years of age but I just thought what if this continues). No cards, no presents. Then it turned out that when FIL had come some of the presents he had brought had been from MIL and SIL for DS's birthday but FIL hadn't mentioned it and then he sent some "fake" birthday cards on behalf of everyone from the desert (he made his 4WD-buddies write cards in the name of SIL, MIL etc). It made me laugh so hard when the cards came because a) I knew already and b) I would have so known because the handwriting was old men's handwriting (and the postcards were definitely not MIL or SIL's taste). But I don't even know whether that's the distance or just my in-laws. They are just not good with birthdays. I am used to my mom making such a big fuss on my birthdays and singing and making the whole day special and MY day and at DH's family it's just not a big deal. I still sometimes don't get presents for my birthdays (like last year).
XTML - lol, I am like you, when my kids are at kindy it's like a holiday. Well, it's actually time to get things done, work or do uni... but still, I treasure the time that they are at kindy - but: my favourite part of the day is still picking them up. I love having them run towards me going "Mama! Mama!" and throwing their little arms around me. Beautiful!
Good to hear Olly is growing so well!!!
Narelle - oh no on Cale being lactose intolerant!! But luckily there is lactose free formula these days!!! Good luck with the renovation. It must be frustrating being so crammed in with 2 kids. But I bet you are looking fwd to having it all done!
Me - well, as I said to Teena, still a bit sick. Threw up Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in the supermarket parking lot (how glamorous... I get out off the car and do a chuck right next to the car... and I am hunched down next to the door and am right near the boom gate and all these people keep coming in to the sight of a woman in convulsions...
Have been fine the last 3 days though (touch wood very very quickly). I have another obgyn appointment before coming to Oz in 2 weeks (so soon!!!). I am hoping he will do another u/s and we can find out the gender (and I can buy some baby clothes in Oz :D )
Wolf is sick, I got a call from kindy on Thursday that he had put his head on the table at snack time and had fallen asleep. He has been so hot for the last 2 days. Poor monkey

Oooh, Snowy. When/If you find out, are you planning to keep it a secret? If not, let us know!! Do you have a "feeling" if bubs is pink or blue? I can't believe you are going back to Oz very soon. I want to go too! hopefully we will be heading back sooner than later.
I hope your morning sickness settles down for you - especially before the plane trip! And i also hope that Wolf gets better very soon!
Teena, happy to see you around (here) again! be sure to let us know how your ultrasound goes:D!
Ok, so ben now only wants to speak ben-language - agh! Most of the time it's like playing charades (spelling?). He points at the cupboard and blabbers on and on and wants something - so i go through a whole list of things until he says "yea". it can be frustrating. I know he can talk if he tries, he just prefers to speak Ben.
-
Snowy - ohhhh we can meet at the mall and go to Cotton On Kids!!!! Although I think the clothes overseas for kids are amazing!
Katie - Allegra does that sometimes. She is very articulate but she sometimes says something that I dont understand and I play a guessing game unti she says "yep".
Hope all is well with everyone... any news from Nadine?
-
Oh yes - Zara does that too. I call it "Klingon" No idea what she is saying but she keeps saying it and it is the same sound so it must be my fault for not understanding her, lol.
Teena - yes, Warringah Mall shopping trip :D !!! I know we get good clothes here too but the nice thing is that if you buy stuff in Oz, no one knows it here in Europe, I like that. I like the stuff Cotton on Kids and Pumpkin Patch has for girls but I like neither of them for boys. But will probably get some surfy-Tees for Wolf, maybe a naugthy/rude Mambo one, lol. Some uggs and some flip flops too!! Hi hi. Ppl here always ask me about the baby havaianas, they just don't sell them here.
Katie - yes, I want to find out and yes, I will let everyone know. Not phased this time. Last time I really didn't want to know but this time I think it's more practical seeing that I have boy and girl clothes already, so I know which ones to wash before going to hospital. Helps me with being organised.
I got my maternity clothes from the basement. It's all smelly (you know that mouldy/stinky old people kinda musty smell? YUCK) so am washing it at momo. I was a bit shocked to see how many I have *blush*... I thought I only had 2 or 3 pieces left... but I certainly need some more things as both previous pregnancies were winter ones and thus only have winter clothes. (ha! there's an excuse for more shopping!)
Feeling much better re. morning sickness. I hope it's all over now. I have been absolutely famished the last few days but I don't really want to put on too much weight... I still have Wolf's baby weight to lose (I lost all of Zara's but still had 4 kg from Wolf to lose)
Went to a nice spa hotel on the weekend in Interlaken and had a 2 hr spa treatment on Sunday - beautiful!! I felt like a different person. Wolf was still sick but DH said we should go seeing that we had paid for the room and everything. My mom came too so her spa treatment was her birthday present (which is on Friday). She loved it too.... so nice... I could do this once a week... no, make that every day :). This morning Wolf woke up without a fever, all back to normal and yesterday he had 40deg fever and was lethargic and floppy and not himself... it's funny how quickly kids recover. Now I am just praying that Zara won't get it because it was quite nasty, 4 days of 40 deg fever... nasty bugs...
Can't wait for Oz and to escape the last bout of winter bugs here.

Grrrr, I did a HUGE post yesterday. Wonder where it has gone? Gosh I hope I didn't post in the wrong thread, or the ladies in TTC are going to think I have gone nuts  I better go check!

hey everyone! we have just been in melbourne for a week for a family function(g'ma's 90th). the flight down was horrible, as both kids were asleep so we were stuck in uncomfortable positions holding them for hours on end- and walking with bags and babies (no pram/sling) was close to impossible... but we managed. i wrote olly's dob a month later so we didn't have to pay for his ticket down, but declared his proper age and paid full price on the way back... i needn't have bothered, both times no one asked for i.d and there was plenty of seats and he didn't sit in his seat at all anyway. he ran up and down the aisle talking to anyone who'd look at him, making friends, scamming food and speaking indonesian. the virginblue cabin crew loved him.
the party itself was great - mylo, now 2months, smiled at all the rellies and put up with being handed around all day loong. olly ran amok with the other kids and basked in the adoring attention of the adults. the week we were there involved non stop dinners and bbq's and get togethers- it was exhausting but awesome. glad to be home. first thing i did once home was get myself a double pram ($20 on ebay!) so i can get lots of exercise. i'm not pg (phew) so i have no excuse for all the chocolate and cake and icecream the holiday involved. went for a big walk this morning with the kids and feel great (but v hungry:rolleyes:). loving my boys and loving my life right now. hope everyone is going good
x lara

Nadine - i HATE when that happens!
Lara - I wouldnt have bothered either. When we fly back to Oz I'm actually really happy that Ben is now 2, and has to pay for a seat. Gives me piece of mind. It was harder flying back (seat wise) than there last time because I was alone the airline blocked a seat (or a row where possible) next to me so Ben did have a seat (i was flying alone). But on the way back Dh was flying with me and they couldnt do that. Although we got the front seats, with more leg room, we had to have Ben on our laps most of the time... AND THEN the seatbelt sign comes on when we are eating. OMG, that's terrible. The airline was MUCH more helpful and nicer when i flew there alone. But we were basically ignored on the way home. grrr.
Snowy - I know what you mean about clothing. But when i tried to find a sleeping bag in Oz i had a terrible time! You would think being such a "child safe" country that sleeping bags would be everywhere. 90% of the people i talked to about it had no idea what i was going on about. In the end i had to order one online from Perth (grobag). Crazy. I love cotton-on too, but you're right, they have much nicer stuff for girls than boys.
You must be in Oz now (or almost). I want to be there too!! Have a great time :D
Me, well im chugging along. I've started a new German course (at night). It's great to get out of the house. Ben is sick with the flu at the moment. And he has a tooth coming through, so we have just had a couple of snuggling days. I had food poisoning last week (MIL gave us some cooked steak she brought home from work - lol). OMG what a horrible day that was.
Speaking of MIL. I had a gyno appointment (pap etc...) yesterday morning. My doc is very booked out so the only one i could get was at 8am. Ben was still sick so i asked if they could take ben for an hour in the morning - told them why. Then last night MIL came over with a smirk on her face and finally said "what was the appointment for, is everything okay?" *trying to hide smiles
I just said it was for a check-up etc.... And you could see her smile melting away. lol. I sware she thought i was pg because she knew i spent the whole day (and night) over the toilet the other week. Sorry MIL, it was your steak that did that.
Dh is running a half-marathon on Saturday. The weather has been really bad here, storms and strong winds. I hope it settles down for it. cross fingers.
Well i need to go before i accidently delete this all (typical of me).
Katie.

@ Katie
Ben looks so big in the avatar!! Well, our babies are all 2 now after all.
Oh yes, I am glad Zara is 2 and has her own seat. Last time we flew to Oz we flew just before Wolf's 2nd birthday, which meant that we didn't have to pay for a seat on the way back either, even though he was 2 then and DH regretted it so much. Wolf kept kicking him out off his seat going "My seat! Go away, Papa!" and DH said "next time everyone gets a seat, even when they are not 2" lol
I also said to DH that this Christmas will have to be the one we fly to Oz, so we should be back there again in December because I am not going next year with a 20 month old that has to be on my lap for 22 hours!! No way!
lol on your MIL thinking / hoping you might be p.g again!
@ Lara
arrg, I feel your pain on the flight... it's hard with 2 kids (we did that last year when Zara was 9 months - not a good time as she wanted to walk up and down the plane the whole time and I had to hold her hand... let's just say I knew EVERYONE on the plane really well by the end..)
Nadine - how are you doing???
Me - doing well. Looking big now! I have another appointment tomorrow. I am very excited and hoping to find out the gender.
Flying to Oz on Sunday. Nervous and apprehensive (about the flight) as well as excited.

Hi Ladies
I hope you don't mind me joining your thread as I am new to the site but I have a 2 year old daughter, Genevieve who was born 11/2/06 so I think we might belong here
I live in Melbourne with my partner and work part time as a HR Manager. I also sit on the board for our local childcare centre which is a parent run cooperative, so things get pretty hectic around here.
I look forward to getting to know you better and seeing what your wonderful 2 year olds are getting up to!
(And Snowy, i love your daughters middle name ;) )
