she was a SCREAMING angel the last week though, every time she wanted to go to sleep she would SCREAM to tell me and it was constant napping all day, i thought it was the bronchitisy cold thing she had but now i am thinking it was to do with the tooth FINALLY cutting through, i remember you saying how he bites you.........

i am exhausted from the last week and now hoping the other teeth wait a while to give me a chance to recover.... dont like my chances though........... she even did the ear thing pulling at her ears........ which the book says that is just them discovering their ears....... but ear pulling then teeth .... hmmmmmm

when pubert wakes in the night does he cry lots? or does he just not sleep? just wondering... (i have no solution but there is a girl at my mothers group who has same prob with her bub he has not EVER slept through ALWAYS wakes at 12 and at 4) (the one born same day as jemima) he just doesnt sleep he wants to play sometimes..... last week she didnt come to mothers group coz she only had 4 hours sleep the whole night and said he was teething.... wonder if he got teeth, will see tomorrow) but he was in her room as well.... have you tried pubert in his own room yet?

I have tried DS in my room while I sleep in the sitting room, he still wakes. I usually sleep through the snuffling and self-settling, wake up when he's screaming, wait 2 seconds jic, then pick him up (he has been known to wake up, do a scream, then back to sleep). He wakes because of hunger, which is why I was hoping formula at night would help more. He only took 5oz of formula, but then some breast, so I do wonder how hungry he really is... I'm trying to extend his feeds now. This was after just 2hours asleep - pre-sleep he'd had banana, bottle and breast.

Firstly, Kel: With Quinn's second tooth, it came 3 days after the first one and there were the same symptoms but to a lesser degree. He hasn't got anymore teeth yet and is still a 2 toothed man.

I honestly feel like I have come out of a fog! i didn't realise I was in one until I came out of it.
Quinn has always slept through the night so I thought everything was dandy, BUT he didn't sleep much during the day and was hard to get to sleep (we used to bounce him on a fit ball until he fell asleep - sometimes this would take 4-5 times before we could put him down). Now he is in a routine, he has 4 breast feeds and 3 solid feeds a day, 2 big sleeps (an hour 20 each) and 1 nap (45 mins) a day and the change in him is remarkable he is much happier all the time and I get more time to get things done and to rest which makes me a happier mummy.

Hopefully teething issues will stop for everyone and the teeth wll silently slide through, poor things - it's so sad when they are in so much pain with teething.

Gotta go - he's woken up right on schedule! :D

Kirsten - Wow Quinn has 2 teeth, very cool! He sounds like he has a really good routine happeining now.
Ryn - Hope bub starts to settle for you real soon, Erin has been grizzly the last few nights and it really wears you out doesn't it?
Smylie - That is exactley what Erin has been like the last week just screaming and napping heaps during the day. Her nose has been runny and sounds a bit congested so thought that might be it. Erin normally has 6-7 feeds normally but she sometimes will only feed for 5 mins at a time. She isn't 5 months yet so haven;t put her on solids yet.
Impatient - Yay on the resignation, excellent working for youseld is going so well. What do you do?Enjoy your party!
Anne - Hi Anne, what sort of work do you do from home? Hope your Mum's group goes well.
Mg - Hi Sweet, have been thinking about you going back to work. Doesn;t sound like much fun. My work has been bought out and differnt people promoted since I have gone, so am really not keen on going back but will have to work out what I'm doing when it gets a bit closer.Glad Abbey is going well in childcare.

My Erin has been really grizzly the last few days. One day she will sleep the whole night then others wakes up a couple of times. Tending to want a big feed around 3ish in the morning lately. Just have to ride it out I guess.

jemima got her other tooth yesterday..... and was an angel all day when i went to town on trains in shops and everthing... so maybe i'm thinking last weeks dramas were not teething but something else??? coz the seconed tooh honestly is not bothering her at all hmmm

got her this funky toy today it is a little flip mobile phone which says hello and goodbye in both engliish and SPANISH which is cool coz my brother is a spanish teacher travelling south america at the moment so OLEH!!! (it took me a lot of phonecalls and lots of driving around to find one that worked.... i found heaps that were all used by people testing them.... grrrr)

kirsten..... isnt funny how we are so so sure we dont want certain things for our baby (like routine) good on you for doing what best for you and baby and not being stubborn! (i am sometimes good like that but sometimes hmmmm not)

Hey Kel. From memory, I think it was only Bri's first tooth that caused me any drama. After that, it was easy. My friend's bub is going through an unsettled phase now too - she woke at 2.30 last night and stayed awake until 6.30! Naughty baby!

I think they're coming up to another wonder week too, so that might also explain things... might go and dig that out soon..!

My little angel is still back to sleeping through, so I'm happy.

I've upped the solids a bit too. She has bottle then rice cereal for breakky, bottles for every other feed through the day (one or two, depending on her appetite), then bottle then mashed pumpkin/potato mixed with rice cereal for dinner and then a yummy ricey vanilla custard thing for dessert (it looks like rice cereal but a different colour and I mix it with forumula). Yum! She was quite happy with that!

We're STILL waiting for Isabella to roll. She's got onto her side from her back, but so far has not gone all the way over. She really doesn't like tummy time, so I'm not pushing it as much as I probably should be. I'm sure she'll get there eventually. At least she can sit up by herself for short periods of time...!

Hi girlies and Ola Jemima!

DS is now sitting unsupported properly, so proud! He can also lift our Dyson vacuum cleaner, so scared! He is one strong man.

Michelle, DS rarely rolls onto his tummy and when he does he screams because he doesn't want to be on his tummy! He keeps forgetting, still, that he can roll back onto his back.

Kirsten, how are the naps going?

Just a quick one from me, need to take DS to the osteopath but he's having a nap. Daft lad wanted to start the day at about 6.40 today. He is now doing 3-hour stretches at night so I'm a lot more relaxed and rested now. Just trying to get them longer now. Also going to start 3 solids a day tomorrow! Lucky DS. *Sigh* he's just woken up with a possett so I gtg - "see" you all soon!

jemima is going ok considering the second tooth is definately bothering her a little bit but she was OK at baby yoga today!!!! a different time and day and still she not that keen! i'm not giving up i want to do yoga..... ok i may give in and just buy a freakin dvd!

princess LOVES swimming lessons! first one on saturday and she was a star and the water was so warm that i loved it too! hehehe

HOW much food are you guys feeding your bubs?? my friend feeds her baby til he wont eat anymore but i have just been giving jemima a couple of teaspoons of baby cereal or baby vanilla stuff

michelle - jemima isnt rolling yet either, her cousin is rolling from stomach to back, she hates tummy time too so EVERY time her mum puts her on belly she rolls over but almost SMASHES her head against the floor, doesnt bother her though... jemima is KINDA going onto her side but she is WAY more interested in eating her feet, even sometimes stops feeding to suck her toes weird child...... so she will probably cheat and roll over from back to belly by putting feet in air and tilting.....

ok now she is "CALLING" so i better go

I give DS as much as he wants - some days he'll wolf down all his breakfast, eat half a pear for lunch, snack on half a rusk then yum down two apricots and a yoghurt for dinner - this is with feeding from me every 2-3 hours - then take 8oz of formula at bedtime. Other days he has had enough by just 1-2 mouthfuls of only one meal. I figure he knows his own tum best. If we take the food away too soon boy do we hear about it! DS wasn't too happy finishing his banana porridge this morning, but I wasn't going to spend another 10 mins expressing for just 2 mouthfuls more. I usually have to hand-express before bedtime just so I can sleep and that milk makes his breakfast.

He is now doing three 4-hour stretches between feeds at night, I am feeling great! However, I have some mummy questions now.

How many still haven't got their period back?
Are you still enjoying nice hair and nails from pregnancy (mine went off for a bit, but are back!)?
Am I the only one who doesn't have solid poos? I swear DS's poo is more solid than mine!
Are people generally more tired than they were pre-pregnancy? I've started needing evening naps again.

And here is a baby question, probably far too far in advance but I need to start fighting my mum about this very soon: what to feed bub for Christmas meals? DS is NOT going to have the same as I had for Christmas considering I drunk so much my mum says I had a severe hangover my first Christmas.

AF has not visited, I love it EXCEPT does not help when you actually WANT to get pregnant!
Yes definately hair and nails but I always have had good nails always strong and in good nick, i have no idea why (people always ask me what i eat) but hair not fallen out as i know some friends have (the excess hair that didnt fall out when pregnant all of a sudden started to fall out - making their hair 'normal' again)
I blame my bowel movements being funky on the weird stuff I eat, so cant answer that one, bit of both, I even went to the doctor about mine as I had really bad cramps to go with it...
And tiredness.... I was blaming it on being 'switched on' all day with baby, even though yes she is an angel, i still feel i am always "on" so I thought that would be why i felt tired.... prepregnancy i was never tired and a nightowl which is why i thought i was pregnant so early couldnt stay awake.

Christmas dinner for Jemima will be whatever she is up to eating at the time... she will be 10months old so I imagine full on on solids and I wont mind if she tries a bit of everything.... no drinking though!!??? whats with that??? did your family eggnog you or something???

Well... mine and Harrison's breast feeding days have ended.... he rejects me so much now that he actually gags when my breast milk goes into his mouth :(

He has been having comp feeds of formula, and obviously prefers it. I have tried expressing for him, but he rejects that too... tried nipple shields again... same thing.
Oh well... we got 6 months, which was better than I expected.

Great news.... He has started to crawl!!! He is still in the developing stages, but he lifts himself up on both his hands and knees... and pushes his legs to make himself move... nothing is out of his reach now!!!

He eats anything and everything he can get his hands on!! Loves banana, pear and avocado together... loves potato and pumpkin with some corn and chicken... oh and he loves mushy peas.
We took him to the movies the other day to see Harry Potter... he sat there looking like an old man watching a movie... when the scenes were dark... he looked around for Rob and I... he was very well behaved which was great. We're taking him to see The Simpsons Movie this coming weekend.

I hope everyone is well.... I have been feeling a bit off over the last few days... I have a really sore throat... grrr.
Harry gets his needles tomorrow so I am hoping he doesn't get this bug that I have.

Well done Lisa! Six months is great! But I'd be gutted too if Liebs rejected the breast already, you must be pretty upset. Daft babies, wish we could just ask them what the problem is! And well done Harrison on crawling! Must confess I'm dreading Lieby reaching that stage, he's mobile enough for me just turning in circles and slowly inching around. I have a nasty cough too, had it a while and just can't shake it. Not good because it can sometimes wake Liebling - other times he just rolls over and goes back to sleep. Wow at Harrison at the cinema; I wish I could take Lieby somewhere like that! He isn't too keen on sitting still yet.

Kel, with the drinking, I was toddling around and drinking everything that was put down at baby-height. It was hilarious to watch, then see me really stagger drunkenly around. As I said, I am NOT doing that to DS. I just don't want him on sprouts and red cabbage too, I'm thinking the taste may be too strong. Also, does meat have to be pureed at 10 months? Or can I just get away with small bites of turkey? I'm not introducing meat until I don't have to puree it - if I have to puree things then clearly DS isn't ready for them. I don't even mash his food, other than banana. He eats whole apricots, pears, apples and peaches. He eats cut-up melon, courgette and marrow. He hates readymade food! Well, I've tried it once and the apple puree was rather tart.

Kell - Harry is like Liebling... the teeth are there, causing him soooooo much grief, but they refuse to come out!!!
And yep... loads of rolling... he had it figured that he could roll and roll and roll all the way over to get what he wanted... he also has worn off a patch of hair of the back of his head from moving himself around so much on his back!!! I am glad that he has started to crawl... it is funny to watch too... he is very impatient and gets so frustrated if he can't get to something quick enough.

Thanks Ryn, I have been beating myself up lots about not being able to feed Harry anymore... I try every day... it has got to the point that he really really hurts me... he grabs handfuls of my breast and really squeezes hard... he pushes me away very hard also.

Has anyone else got a Bumbo for their bubba? Harrison has one and he loves it!! I will post some pics of him in it on his site asap.

SiL wanted to give DS niece's old bumbo, we don't need more baby junk, but DS can sit up all by himself now so we really don't need it.

After a feed at night if DS is still awake he puts a hand on my nipple and does his squeezy/scratchy thing... so not happy! But then if I put the breast away he gets upset. There's no winning - unless he decides to start the day at ten past seven, like he did today. Then we're all happy!

Harrison had his needles today... he had a little cry when the injection was being done, but he was fine almost straight after and he has been great ever since... so many people have commented today that he is so good for a bubba who has just had injections done.

I tried him on my breast again today... nope, he pinched me hard and pushed me away crying... so I am most definitely giving up... my boobs are so sore... hopefully I don't have any problems while my milk is going.

I keep forgetting more needles soon.... Jemima last time bled lots and had big lumps on all the needle spots with big bruises for at least 3 weeks!

I wish i had gotten a bumbo ages ago, I am not going to bother now as Jemima is so close to not toppling over every time....

To encourage crawling etc do you put bub on stomach or back? Jemima is real close to doing rolling and crawling and stuff but still very happy to play on her back and eat her feet.

Lisa I think you are awesome for breastfeeding for so long, you had so many obsticles and hurdles but you and Harry got through them and he got what every mother and doctor wants for a child and that is six months of breast milk, he looks so happy and healthy you should be proud of yourself, MANY MANY others would have given up AGES ago. Benji just glanced at your site and asked me about Harrison's thumbs remembering he was going to be a champion thumb wrestler (that man of mine remembers everything! I so have to be careful what i say around him)

Going baby website shopping tonight, the photosite that i used to have shut down and i dont feel like a kodak site but i may not have a choice, I dont really want one that has a journal but maybe that is the easiest thing....

Did i tell you all about Jemima's swimming?? she went again today and loved it again so it was not a fluke last time!

Kel - Harrison can sit up by himself, but he doesn't like to sit up unaided while he is having something to eat... and I like to sit him close to the floor... so the Bumbo was the best thing for us... and it is easy for us to pop into the car for when we visit friends etc.
Good on Jemima for swimming!!! I wish that there was a heated pool near me... I would love for Harrison to start swimming. Madeleine first went into a pool when she was 2 days old... she was swimming confidently by the time she was 2 (proper swim strokes) and she is most definitely a water baby. My sister often comments on how strange it looked to see such a little girl swimming so confidently... she used to do flips into the pool when she was around 2 also!!! Very very confident in the water, which is what I always wanted as it took James a while to become confident.

Which needles were these? We have 2, 3 and 4m needles (except DS, he had 9w, 14w and 5m) over here. Then nothing more until just over a year.

I'm going to get DS one of those rolling blow up cylindrical things to encourage crawling... can't wait to see what he makes of it! He may like being on his front then.

Over here, the immunisations are at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months... then 4 yrs, 13 yrs etc.

Today, Harrison had;
Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough, HIB, Polio, Pneumococcal, and Rotavirus immunisations.

Who here is going "back to work" and when?

Oooh, swimming bubbas sound so cute! I have to take DS to a baby swim session once a week in September!

I think spacing out the immunisations over 4 months makes more sense - I hated the fact they were supposed to be so close together. Poor my little man!

I will be taking a break... I mean going back to work once Lieby is a year old. It will be part-time/job share I think, as the lady who is doing my work has had her job taken away so she can do it. Then I'll be leaving in September to start teacher training, which will be full-time. This is assuming DH is OK with this, he's still a bit annoyed I want to re-train but that was always my plan. I figure at 18m old DS will be OK with being looked after 1-2 days by Grandma (my MiL), half a day by Daddy and the rest of the time in childcare, especially if I get the holidays with him. I just DON'T want my mother to decide to come down and look after him for a week or so. But that is a long way away, I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

I'm not going back to work for a while... I am soon starting an online medical admin course which should be great, but if we do decide to move to Newcastle, then I am going to look at going to Uni.
Right now though, I am starting Cohens diet (paid up, bloods done, now waiting on the diet) and trying to get myself better before planning another baby... we're looking to start trying again Jan 09.

I've had a sh*t of a week, I've been really down and feeling awful and overwhelmed...gues it's all part of just getting used to this whole mum thing.

You're right though, it is all a part of being a Mum... and it happens to all of us unfortunately.

oh good (in a way) I thought it was just me totally over being brain fried at the moment due to 5 month old.... she is incredibly cute but exhausting and independence robbing etc etc totally overwhealmed at the moment, which is why i'm asking about who is going back to work... feel like those who do are getting the 'easy' way out... just get baby ready for daycare, drop off at daycare and then turn brain off and have a coffee go to work pick up baby get baby ready for bed (if daycare has not already done this for you) and then put baby to bed and continue with your own life......
harsh i know but not having any time at all to myself is so weird, but I love everymoment i'm with her....

at the moment i was thinking about stopping breastfeeding but then reading posts from lisa make me feel like because i can and are having no problems (except she has bitten me lightly but still painfully with these new teeth of hers) i should keep going as any reason i have to stop is purely selfish... (i want to lose weight and i want to get pregnant again and i want to wear clothes maybe that i dont have to access my boobs - but mainly i want to do optifast diet or tony ferguson which you cant do when breast feeding)

hang in there kirsten, give yourself some lazy days at home and if that doesnt work do the opposite go out to lunch and make the most of the things you can do because you are not at proper 9 to 5 work.... both work for me.....

am so happy got the totsie site done finally..... photosite shutdown so i had to change, and am even happier about getting jemima onto youtube! her uncle been away for 6 months now and since we only just got broadband i have not been able to upload her video.... but now she is a star!!

I'm not at all bored or brain fried, but then I'm still in denial about having a baby sometimes! I get a bit in need of an adult conversation, but I have more now I am at home because I can call girlfriends and see their babies too! We went to the park today and saw some friends, DS went on the swings (and came out after 15 minutes because he started to try to lick the swing). I can just "switch off" when DS goes to bed and curl up with a book or a film. I also love the fact that when he wakes up in the morning he will just play next to me - I get woken up with a tiny finger up my nose rather than by a screaming baby!

I have lazy days where DS has a lot of alone-time (not so that he cries, just without me hovering), lots of time going out for coffee, computer time while he naps... I really enjoy having "me"-time.

Kel, if you want to stop breastfeeding no-one will think badly of you. You can still get your body (and your clothes and your fertility) back by dropping down to just a morning and nighttime feed. You don't even have to do that. Getting to six months, as I said to Lisa, is a big achievement. Many people stop at 4 months or before in the UK. Very, very few do more than a year. DH always said teeth would mean an end to BFing, lucky me he has stopped saying this, but DS has the odd formula bottle and this is good for me as it means I can go out without DS even if it is just for an hour or so.

gosh i hadnt even thought how lucky i am that jemima doesnt cry or scream, if i had that i would really be over it and going to work.... some days she doesnt cry once.... never cries when she wakes in the morning, benji delivers her to me with clean nappy and we have a chat and then we both snooze til it is time to get up.... depending on what we are doing...

i am certainly not bored either, i think now Thursday is the only day i dont have anything 'locked in' to do which is good, but always end up doing something... except today was just a quick trip to the grocery store (where this guy that worked there seemed to think i was interested in the behind the scenes of fruit and veges.... and told me about how they order stuff and the crates they use and all this other stuff i really didnt care about... i just wanted to know if they still sold the nuts seperately or if i had to buy a whole pack.... i only needed a handful of cashews..... but somehow i must have looked interested)

I am so lucky that all my friends (ok at least 4 of them) had babies within 3 months of eachother so i have heaps of people to go and visit that understand exactly what it is like with baby but more and more sometimes i dont want to talk baby.... i just want to be old kelly again..... so have 2 friends i keep away from the baby friends to keep them babyfree and 'untainted'

i think i meant brainfried in the way that i use my brain for different things now... it is funny when i am talking technical computer stuff with service people or whatever and i am now confirming what they mean instead of definately knowing i know what they mean.... but talk babies and i'm in my zone.... very weird but i am getting headaches which one nurse once said could be tension headaches?? what does this mean???

the breastfeeding i am not worried about what anyone else will think if i stop, i am more worried about jemima.... i dont want to give her formula or a bottle as i feel we have done so well to have gone so long without either, even gone to the trouble of finding a sippercup that does not require her to suck to get it out just comes out when she tips... all the other ones have a straw or sucky nipple like outlet which is so not the point.... i dont know all i know is that if i do stop feeding i will miss it and that there is no going back... however if she continues to nip me at the end or beginning of every feed the decision may be very easy

Sorry Kell... I had to laugh at this!!!
Just 2 weeks ago, I had to go into my old workplace (Centrelink) to help my mum claim for a disablitity pension... and sitting there, chatting with my old workmates, with what I am sure was the perfume of old, 2nd hand milk on me, I started to smile thinking that I am so happy being at home with my bubba!!!
Harry was stolen from me by the girls I worked with... and had lots of smiles and giggles for them.

Kell, have you considered comp feeding bub? I was planning to do Cohens, which I can't be breastfeeding for, so I started to comp feed Harrison... and he and I both loved the breast times he had... now, as I have mentioned before, rejects me big time... I am really sad that it has ended like this, but in a way, it is my blessing in disguise because now I get to do something for me.

Little man has... half a tooth! It appeared late last night as he was biting me! So proud! It has finally started to appear.

I also got 5-6 hours out of him last night and he wasn't starving when he woke up, so I reckon he'll be ready to sleep through soon (phew!). DH put him to bed last night too, DS refused to feed to sleep and Thursday is my prayer group night so when my friends turned up (DS has usually been asleep half an hour at least by this point) DH turned offhis computer game and took over! How cool is that!

But have to say, sorry girls, I still do skirts and make-up. Not all the time, but enough of the time. Jeans when it's cold. But then, if I'd dress up for some poxy job, why wouldn't I dress up to show my men how much I care for them? (I come from a "if you are in messy clothes you can't eat dinner" family btw.) I change my top if it's covered in spit-up before DH gets home, but that's because he won't cuddle me if I smell of sick.

F I N A L L Y!!!! yippee for pubert!!!!! finally that pesky toothypeg rears it ugly head!

ryn you are lucky you didnt put on any weight when you were pregnant... remember i put on 30kgs! also i worked in a high profile office where i had to go all out suits, stockings, heels! am so enjoying a break from that! makeup though only for outside the house and now only if it is certain nighttime events... loving a break from that too! i have a box in the ceiling amongst all the boxes of clothes that are either too big or too small and it is "Corporate AND Maternity wear" i am wondering which ones I will need first... I am hoping and pretty sure it will be the maternity wear!

and YIPPEE for your DH reminding you why you married him... what a nice thing to do and incredible! i am lucky my guy isnt into computer games I hear too many WOW widow stories!

Lisa - Good on you for getting to 6 months. Remember, I didn't even make it to 3 weeks, so you've done a fantastic job. If neither of you are enjoying it, then neither of you will benefit from it. Harrison's doing extremely well, crawling like that. What a clever boy!!!

Hello to everyone else I've missed (I feel like I've been away for ages!).

Isabella has finally decided to roll for the first time, thank goodness! I was worried I'd have to circle the "No" box under "Has your baby rolled" in the baby book at her 6 month checkup and needles!

She's been "wanting" to for ages, just going half way over, then back again. Today she finally followed through onto her tummy which she wasn't happy about. She's done it about 5 or 6 times today.

As of yesterday I officially became unemployed. I had my "surprise" morning tea (my sister told me all about it!) and was given a beautiful pressie (a gold chain with a ruby pendant). Isabella was kidnapped and passed all around. She put on a great show and behaved herself! Next Thursday night I'm having my first night out on the town in well over a year (my official farewell from work - we're all going out to get drunk together!). BIL is picking us up afterwards to drive us home, which is really lovely of him!

Bella's had that yukky flu that's going around too. A little boy died from it last week and we were sooo releived it happened AFTER she got over the worst of it, otherwise I'd have been a mess. The poor family. It must have been awful. As it is, I spent the second night mopping her down with a wet face washer trying to get her temp down. It was pretty horrible but she's pretty much back to her old self now, albeit a bit croaky.

Oh well, I'd best be off. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

hi catherine, elouise is gorgeous, i dont believe she beats you up...... i love the name elouise i had a friend named that at primary school, my DH didnt like it for our baby, i will try again next baby.... welcome what date was elouise born?

michelle yep i found your email address and all the others on my old computer, i was just being lazy as old computer takes half an hour to turn on...... i hate technology..... YIPPEEEE FOR ROLLY POLLY BELLA!!! how exciting, awesome that she has done it so many times, definately not a fluke or an accident... jemima is so so so close cant wait but can wait..... i am slowly making my house ready for her to move about, even got new tv unit (which was at my exhubbys house so that was weird and is weird having it in my house now...) to put everything in.... hopefully that gives me an extra month or so when she starts moving as she is ready to pull herself up on things as soon as she is close enough to them she is very strong she has the best abs, i am so jealous, i do think going out a lot and having her in the pouch has made her stronger, pity that means she hates the pram....

i am so annoyed i had a big post written and then checked something on the emails about a car thing benji is selling and lost the whole post so i am trying to remember what i said!

lisa - its funny, i bet when you went into your old work you KINDA felt like a dero in what you were wearing but you knew that secretely they were probly wishing they could be wearing whatever and enjoying messy time with baby! i should use the fact i need more noncorporate clothes as a reason to lose the last 15kgs..... i forgot to tell everyone, since my birthday i have lost 4.5kg all by myself, calorie counting and exercise, the good bit is i am finding maintaining really easy which is usually the bit i have heaps of trouble with EXCEPT for last week when i put on 500grams, i dont know what my problem waslast week but i just wasnt interested in anything much and heaps of vanilla slice yummo.... actually i just didnt exercise enough..... so i am going slow and steady so by Jemima's first birthday i will have lost the 30kg, I have to lose 15kg in 5 months.... ho hum

i have decided that i am going to keep breastfeeding for another six months if i can and re evaluate the situation again then.... the fact that it makes me learn how to eat properly is a good thing for me i would love to do optifast or tony ferguson (i lost 15kg in less than 3 months last year on optifast) but it is n ot a proper long term solution the only downside for me for breastfeeding is the contraceptive thing, but what ever happensthere i will wait and see and feel whatever happens is meant to be, having to wait longer for another baby is perhaps a blessing in disguise.... i would maybe love to leave jemima with people to baby sit her but for some reason i dont want her having a bottle and as we have gone this long without needing one i'd like to keep going, i have gone out twice straight after her feed so will keep that as an option but she is such a good baby i can take her everywhere i have wanted to go...

oh oh michelle you forgot to direct everyone's attention to your new ticker picture.... if you are going to put your baby through that kind of humilitation you HAVE to make sure to show the WORLD heheheehe that is the cutest baby photo i have ever seen, i am so going to dress jemima up in something like that and take a photo... maybe a big frilly bonnet and a give her a sheep or something so she can be little bo peep.... hmmm you have got me thinking, i didnt realise how adorable they looked dressed up so cute! Go Isabella! (i used to buy my mum the same birthday card every year coz i thought it was so funny it was of a cat in a flower pot and it said on the outside "for your birthday" and on the inside "i grew you a cat" heheheheheehe

hey smylie, elouise was born 2nd february. well she doesn't really attack me. she jumps a lot on my lap while standing, which can hurt. she goes for my face. reaches out for my cheeks in a loving smiling gesture, but she grabs and with tiny hands and sharp nails, she has a strong grip. painful. pulls my hair, so i keep it up and away. she also has reflux. its not that bad, but it was enough for me to take her to several doctors to get answers. she's on thickened karicare formula, which she takes well, yet still throws up. not all the time, but at least 50ml vomit a day. which is more than possetting, which she does every feed. i took her to a paediatrician who put her on mylanta, which helped her from the pain of the stomach acid, yet she still throws up. all over me. when we're out. so i took her to a homeopath yesterday and she has two medicines to take, and she takes them well. too early to see any improvement yet. no teeth yet, although about four weeks ago while we were in brisbane, she was teething badly. i went through heaps of the brauer teething relief and bonjela. but i now realise most of that pain was probably reflux. as she had done several large most of a feed vomits. all over dad's armchair and the nice rug. and several on me. anyway, she's not rolled over yet. only from tummy to back which was not on purpose, she pushed up on one arm and tipped over. she's not crawling, but on her tummy she turns direction and pushes herself backwards, but no forward movement yet. hopefully soon. we're finally able to turn the car seat upright, but i still like it rear facing. don't know how to keep it rearward yet upright. she's too heavy to lift over the securing straps to the parcel shelf. does anyone know how to do it? its a safe-n-sound ordinary basic style. anyway its good to meet new people which bubs the same age. i'm in a mothers group in my local area. which has been great. i live in sydney if there is anyone else who wants to meet up. must go, this post is so long already.

wow you are awesome to have gone through all that with elouise! reflux must be awful, vomit everywhere would be one thing but upset bub would be awful! hopefully all the doctors appointments will help...

Kirsten you said ages ago Quinn had marakas.... does he bash himself in the head with them??? i want to get some for jemima but i have to watch her real close with anything hard plastic as she shakes it so violently she cries when she hits herself... or treats it like teething toy but sometimes comes to her mouth so fast that she bashes herself...... and at swimming lessons how is quinn going?? jemima going to 2nd official lesson on wednesday so i am going to make sure that i really start showing her she is learning something not just playing in the water.... ?? does quinn still love it? do you do it or does your dh?

i guess the baby buddies is like a really weird 24/7 mothers group..... weird.......

catherine - do you mean you want to have the carseat upright but still facing out backwindow? I think upright you have to face it forwards? usually behind the passenger seat I think so that if anything happens bub doesnt fall through the front window? have you had carseat in the middle?

My friend's baby stopped waking at midnight...................... and is now waking at 3am!!!!! I was meant to go over to friends place for dinner but we had jemima out last night so thought should give her a normal day/night, kinda glad i did she spent from 3pm til 7pm wanting to go to sleep.... kinda so we gave her "afternoon" tea and went for a walk and then she had a nap and then from 5pm onwards did NOT want to get put down...... i want to blame teeth and figure i can get away with it coz they are there but am wondering if it is the food? she started to scream late in the afternoon a different cry than usual.....?
