Hi lovelies!
Had a busy day today - hence not being around. Accidentally went to Baby Bunting and bought lots of stuff including a Baby Bjorn - which he hates so far - :wall: and a bath/change table thing. I had a change table and a bath but the bath I am having to put in the tub and the ensuite is too small and it's a bit dangerous getting him out with the glass shower screen etc. So, got this one where a bath pulls out from under the change table. You can wheel it around etc so I can take him into Mum and Dad's bathroom and bath him there where it's warmer. (no heating vent in mine) They had baby Bonds "racer" tees on sale from $15 something to $3! Bought lots. pmsl Had a good day.
Jen, sounds like Amber might be settling a little better now. I hope so. As Sazz said, you can give the Brauer Colic Relief now. Billy's had it since the first week. My dr said it was fine also. Go for it. They love the taste and it's really worked for me. Billy is hopeless with wind too, mostly. How did the pram outing go?
Jess, gorgeous pics! :) Sad about that driver dying hey? I haven't seen that ad yet. I will cry my as* off for sure.
Sazz, I hope you're alright mate. Sending get well vibes to you. :)
Nik, I got angry after I read your post. I know EXACTLY how you feel with the whole b/f thing. I didn't have pressure from anyone - I felt bad enough, as you know. You do what you think is right - which you had already decided - which I think was good, by the way - and maybe talk to Mark's mum. Seriously, people don't understand how stressful it is when it's all turning to cr*p and how it makes you feel. You've worked your butt off with it. Oh, and PLEASE don't apologise for venting - that comes from the queen of venters! ;) Let us know what happens. Be strong and do what makes you and Amy happy mate. :)
Jo, I want quick reply back too. BADLY! What is my problem? Clearly I have nothing better to complain about. PMSL!
Girls, I can't remember what everyone else wrote and I'm so tired. Sorry. Hi Mary and Bindy and Karen and everyone else I missed.
I'm having a day at home tomorrow - well, I think I should or I'm going to be really broke, really soon... so, I'll catch you all then.
Good sleep to all.
x
-
ps. Jess, I love that pic of you and Jaylen. :)
-
oh, pps... girls, you know how I've been using lavender oil in the bath for BTK... apparently you need to mix it with baby oil first. OOPS!
-
kate - LOL 'accidently' went into baby bunting hahah! sounds like me, 'accidently' going into too many shops hehe!
yer im sure all my money will be gone the min i get it, already have about $3000 spent already... 1500 for my credit card, paying chris back fo fixing my car which is about 1200, and paying off some fines ect.. GRR
yer i need to get a changetable/bath thing, hurting my back having the bath so low down and changing him so low down
yer the ad is sad as, im usually fine with stuff like that but omg its actually really sad, the longer one they play is sader, it goes for like 2 mins i reckon
oh yer mum took that pic of me and jaylen on her phone! sooo cute haha! i love the pic u got in ur ticker!
well i better go get ready for bed, jaylens starting to stir... hes been feedin every 2 hours sometimes 2day, ahh my bb's are sore!
-
ps. im SICK of not having the quick reply! haha
pps. i took my belly ring out when i was bout 20 weeks preg i reckon, went to put it back in yesterday thinking i might be able to push it through or something, went straight through!! i was amazed lol
ppps. u know how i was saying my skin has gone yuck? WELL my skin must be going through funny changes cuz the sleepers in my ears have gone black!? and they arent crap quality ones, they are from the jewellers LOL, very weird..
ok im definetly going now, hope everyone gets sleep! including me lol, jaylens been a bit unsettled 2day and hes been sleeping noisily all day
xx
-
ohhh jaylens been awake since 5am, im so tired! he just wont go to sleep and have fed him like 3 times since then! and when he cries its a different cry... but i dunno what he wants...
he has a little blister on his top lip... will this just go away and does it affect feeding?
ohh bbs, hes crying again
-
Hmmm Amber slept from like 1030 til 5 this morning. The health nurse said it was ok for me to let her sleep like that through the night but then she went back to sleep at 630 and is still asleep. I am going to wake her for a feed very soon because I feel like an amazonian woman. Now I will begin to worry that she is sleeping too much..... It never ends. She had a great day yesterday too with 3 2 hour sleeps. I hope she isnt coming down with anything either because she is congested a bit.
Nice on the shopping Kate. When the baby bonus comes through I will be tempted to do the same. Plus Amber being a bigger girl, doesnt fit into 0000 and I have only really been dressing her in singlets and nappies, she will soon outgrow her 000. I have so many cute girl outfits too. I am going to try Amber in the baby bjorn today too. Our stroller outing yesterday was good. She didnt get too grizzly.
Sazz- If you are feeling unwell, get straight to the doctors. If the wind gets any worse I might try her on the colic relief.
Jo- You must be so over house right now. It will end soon. Luckily Sophie likes the noise. Is the weather any better there for you today?
Jess- I hope Jaylen settles a bit better for you. Your baby bonus will come through very soon and you can go shopping again!
Well I am going to attempt an outing today and be very brave. I will take the baby bjorn. Ben and I have to go to bunnings so we will see what happens.
I am going to go and wake my daughter for a feed now.
-
Jen, YAY!!! Go Amber. Nice work on the big sleep. Mate, you can't win. You worry when they cry, you worry when they don't. I think it's normal. With waking her for a feed, I had to do that with Billy - they said to give him one side, then change his bum, then the other. Maybe that will work for you. Just thinking out loud.
I hope your outing goes ok today. PLEASE let me know how you go with the Baby Bjorn. Billy didn't seem to like it yesterday. Maybe I ought to persist though.
Jess and Jen - seeing as you both had bigger bubs - are they fitting into the newborn nappies? At first they were huge on Billy but now, when I take them off, they are leaving marks like they are too tight. I put an infant (I think that's the next one up) one on him today and it looks kind of high up and big but much more comfy. He's only little so shouldn't he fit into the newborns?
Jess, must be the hormones and changes in your body making your skin change and your body react to the earrings etc. It's funny hey.
They pulled my tongue ring out before I went into surgery and by the time I went to put it back in, I couldn't. I'm not getting it done again. I LOVED it but can't be a**ed with all the pain etc and maintenance. Don't have time.
That bath/table I bought was $169, which I don't think is too bad. It's kinda got brown colours, which I hate but who cares. The grey one was another $50! Bathing him in the bath is killing me so there was no way I was going to keep that up. Plus the room is so small in there, it's kind of dangerous taking him out. I can't wait to get this. They didn't have any in yesterday but said maybe today or Friday!
Oh yeah, I'm getting a new phone today. I called 3 the other day to find out how much it was to pay my contract out as I HATE them and have had lots of problems etc. Anyway, they called me the next day and sucked me into a new contract with a new phone. At least I don't have to pay for the handset. Just the contract bit. They are also letting me out of my contract cheap - I am paying off TWO handsets because my ex (not Michael) smashed one and I had to get another. LOSER!:wall:
I have organised for the Foxtel people to come tomorrow to put another point in the other lounge room for Mum and Dad. It's right accross from their room so that will be good. Then BtK and I can have the back part of the house and it won't matter if he's screaming - like now! pmsl
I am going to Officeworks this morning (I think I better just take what money I need - I seem to be spending lots otherwise) to get some red envelopes to send my thank you's out in. Then going to take the bb pump back.
Oh, speaking of spending, I bought stuff on ebay last night. Some of those wooden letters that spell out kids names etc. I got 30... all to make up BILLY, MUMMY, DADDY, NANNY, POPPY and OCEAN! I also bought a blue non toxic ink pad to make a foot and hand print. That'll be an adventure.
Well, that's enough chatter from me. Gotta love typing on caffeine! ;)
I'll be back later.
x
ps. Jess, I think those blister things are normal. Not sure what you do for them though.
-
jen - he stil hasnt stopped cryin lol, mum has offered 2 come in n take him 4 a walk so i can sleep but i dont rekin i would b able 2 sleep...
kate - the newborn nappies r leaving marks but he stil has heaps of room in em
k gota go again

Hi ladies,
Man did we have a bad day yesterday. Amy had one good sleep but for the rest of the day she was so unsettled. I couldn't work out why. I think maybe she had tummy pains or something.....who knows with these little ones. She's fed every two hours this morning from 4am and has finally gone down so hopefully the rest of the day is ok. I wanted to go visit my cousin today but don't want to go if all Amy will do is cry. Not much fun at all!
Just wanted to say too, thank you all for your supportive words. I never thought I'd get so much out of this forum but you ladies are something else. I've decided that I'm going to speak to the naturopath today and tell her I don't want to keep taking the herbs and we'll see how my supply goes without it. I'm going to start weaning really soon. I told Mark that I will try to make it to 12 weeks but I don't think I'll make it that long just cos Amy is taking bigger and bigger top ups and I feel like I'm wasting my time putting her on my bb's. I'm going to give her a formula only feed today for the next one and see how she goes.
Jess - that sucking blister is nothing to worry about at all. Amy had one of those and I did nothing and it went away on its own. A little bit of dry skin came off her lip yesterday and now its totally gone.
Kate - nice one on the purchases! Amy didn't like her baby carrier at first either but now she doesn't mind it. Mark just kept putting her in it and it only took a couple of goes before she realised it wasn't torture.
Jen - that's great that Amber is sleeping but I know what you mean about worrying. if it's not one thing it's another! I'm the same.
Sazz - i hope you haven't got mastitis but from the sounds of it you do. go to the dr just in case!!!!!! sending you get well vibes.
Well, better go have a shower and see if my cousin is up for a visit. Hope you all have a wonderful day ladies. speak to you soon xxxxx Nik and Amy
PS thanks again for your support :-)
-
Jess, maybe I'm putting them on wrong, again! pmsl I hope Jaylen goes to sleep for you mate. Billy is having a cr*p day too. Has been awake all morning screaming his guts out. He just brought up a heap of wind and seems a bit more settled now so we'll see.
Nik, I agree, I didn't realise how much I'd get out of this forum. I truly feel like I've made some good friends here. All you girls have been so supportive and understanding. I think we've all done a great job of looking after each other actually. I hope the naturopath goes well and thanks for the carrier advice - I will persist. He can't hate them all! (can he? ;))
Back later girls.
x
-
well i thought i might try the dummy again and try and settle him, it worked, so he went to sleep for about an hr and a half, so i got a little nap lol! fed him and hes just sittin awake in his bouncer so hopefully he will stay quiet or go to sleep lol!
kate and nik - i have gotten soooo much out of this forum, i dont think i'd be coping so well if i hadnt found it! and i feel like ive made some good friends too!
nik - the blister seems to have gone down... lol i think it was from him feeding every hour!!
kate - with the nappies they come just over his belly button and theres about 5cm gap in between the ends of the tags the stick the nappy on if that makes an sence at all LOL
well im off to have lunch, mum told me off for not eating well enough, ahh i havent got time to stand in front of the stove and cook.. so i think i will have some veggie soup for lunch!
-
Hey Jess, I'm dobbing! I told Mum you were eating well. ha ha ha... now YOUR mum is on your case. pmsl! ;)
Do you make the sides of the nappies overlap or not? OMG, why is everything so confusing. I suppose he can wear the infant ones if they are fitting him and he's not leaking anywhere. Maybe he just pees a lot!
I just had blue cheese for the first time since before I was pg. I was DYING for it. Guess what... I don't like it any more! Oh dear...
Oh, Michael and his g/f have broken up. He and I are getting along like a house on fire. Makes you wonder how much his behaviour had been influenced by her. Apparently she's been fairly harsh with sharing their daughter too - as in, if they aren't together, he will hardly get to see her. Not nice.
Anyway, that's my news.
What else can I eat?
-
ps. Jess, what is that "blog entry" thing that's near where your location and amount of posts are?
-
aww im trying to eat well hehe! just had the veggie soup... not that nice but o well im getting veggies i spose!
sides overlap? how u mean lol, ahh im confused as well, if the infant ones fit them keep him in them :) !! jaylen leaked a tiny bit this morn but not much, i think he will be in the infant ones soonish
glad u and michael are gettin along well and the b!tch is gone hahah!
the blog thing is kinda like a journal... click on mine and it should say somewhere where u can write ur own if u want!
-
AH slack tart Maz here
Had a horrible last 3 days. Mateuaz totally refussing the boob and would scream, kick punch, just go right off when ever he came near it. He would scream that much that my other bb would have let down and I looked like I pi$$ed myself on my shirt. Thankfully he's back to his bb loving self!
He is sleeping awesomely overnight usually from 10.30 until 5 - 5.30ith out waking! gotta be happy with that.
Now Im going back to catch up
-
hey maz! :( to hear u had a crap few days!
that great how he sleeps at night! Jaylen usually goes to sleep at about 10.30pm, wakes up at about 2.30am and again at about 5.30am.. and the last few days hes been staying awake from 5.30am.. ahh thats way to early to be getting up lol!
Put my birth story in my blog in more detail if u's are bored and want to have a read lol!
-
Well we went on our first outing today. We went to Big W then Safeway. I put Amber in my baby bjorn and she slept the whole way around the stores. Kate, persevere with it, hopefully he will learn to love it. I think Amber loved being all cuddled in and she could hear my heartbeat.
Then we got home, I fed her, she screamed so I tried feeding her again and she fell asleep on my chest. She we have put her to bed and hope she can get a good rest. She loves the car but only when it is going. If it is stopped, she will fidget. We are going to try a trip to Bendigo on the weekend. Mum is having a pacemaker put in on Friday so we will go with with her grand daughter.
With the nappies, Amber is still wearing the huggies newborns. I had 2 boxes of it. We are onto the last box. It is leaving a mark on her but we have had no major leaks. She should probably be into the crawler now. She is a long baby and the come up below her belly button. I am going to try and finish the huggies newborns and then go onto Aldi as they are cheaper. Although the big boxes of huggies are on special at Big W at the moment.
I will get onto the MCN but the sposies are so easy!
My girl is unsettled and its wind. She wouldnt burp after her feed. I am finding it tough to get her wind up. If I could get it up then settling may be easier.
-
ohh jaylens being good this arvo thank god, wonder what was wrong with him this morn... so hard to know
jen, glad ur outing went ok! where do u get them baby bjorn carrier things from, jaylen loves his pram so i wont use it going out, but it would be handy for around the house, like i could cook ect with him on me and have my hands free!
once the newborn nappies are below jaylens belly button i might stop using them... i think im going to have to start putting him in pants and tops, 000 jumpsuits are way to big in the body and a bit too long, but in the 0000 the feet arent big enough and some are starting to get a bit short.. but they fit nicely in the body... ohhh pants and tops are annoying for just around the house, ride up ect lol
-
Jess- We are a little lazy with dressing Amber while at home. She normally gets just a singlet and her nappy. But then we have her in 2 wraps. We went out today in a cute hoody. The hood had teddy bear ears on it. We were given so many cute clothes for her that I reckon she wont wear half of it. She is in 000 at the moment but it wont be too long. She is a long girl and the length more than anything is what she will grow out of.
She is still asleep. Ben must have the midas touch in settling her.
-
Hi girls
Addy is asleep, again, for at least 1/2 hour this time. She has been so unsettled today and has barely slept. She seems to be in pain at times too. But we saw the paediatrician today for her 6 week check up, and he says she has some regurgitation causing maybe some heartburn and we are trialling mylanta. Maybe thats why she is finally sleeping. We have tipped the bassinette up 30 degrees- like how you did it in the hospital. Its only on a pillow for now, we will try something else later.
Here I was thinking it was colic or windpain! She sort of goes to sick up and then swallows it, or does vomit (has been increasing over the past week). If it doesnt improve with the mylanta, we will see the paediatrician again.
On a good note, she is doing great and weighs 5.2kg.
Nik :hugs: for the non supportive hubby, its so hard for them to understand most of what we go through. Especially all the breast stuff. I just keep saying to Doug- if it was your nipples she was sucking on two hourly- you would feel differently too!!
Kate, I have been buying so much soft cheese and loving it!! Even blue! Interesting news about Michael, hope things continue at least civily between you.
For everyone approaching the end of tghe newborn nappies- My Dh stopped using them before I did, we are in infant size which do look so big but I stopped using newborn when they were leaving red marks on her legs and they only go to 5kg- so when I found she was 5kg I stopped!
-
jen - yer i just put jaylen in bonds jumpsuits at home, they are the best things.. hes in 000 in them and will prob go into 00 soon, but bonds are smaller hehe! im just using white tshirt bodysuits instead of singlets, HATE how singlets ride up, might use them if its really cold in winter but yer..
yer i went through all the 0000 jumpsuits ect and put half of em in a bag cuz they dont fit...
i got told that other people, like who dont feed the baby, can settle them better than us cuz they think, oh yer, no food here, i will go to sleep!
-
oh yeah I was gonna tell you about my baby carriers.
I keep the baby bjorn in the car and use it for short trips, groceries and are using it more and more cause she seems to hate being in the pram at the moment. She starts off happy enough then starts crying and stops as soon as I pick her up. The other day I ended up going back to the car and putting her in the baby bjorn and pushed an empty pram around! She fell asleep like a good girl.
Just make sure you read about the baby bjorns- some people dont like them cause they say they incorrectly align the babies spine. These people recommend using them only for a short time. I cant actually find any research to support this and choice magazine voted them the best baby carrier so make up your own minds.
I also have the huga abub, which now I can actually put on properly, is great. Pretty comfy- does get hot though. I use it in the house each day to get on with stuff.
The baby bjorn is so much easier to put on, but doesnt look as comfy for the bub. Some other people swear by the sling type, like bubba moe- they look so much easier to put on, but look bad for your back!
So much choice!
Jess I iknow there are heaps of slings on ebay cheap.
-
Jess
I agree I hate singlets and tshirts that ride up- I prefer the bodysuits that do up in the crotch!
-
mary - thanks, had a look on ebay, omg thers so many and so many diff prices! might buy one at a shop here so i can take it back if its not right or 1 of us doesnt like it lol...
omg i feel like chocolate LOL
-
Is it unsettled baby day OR WHAT??? I'm gonna scream! :wall::wall::wall:
Poor little bugger is sleeping now but been awake most of the day so is exhausted. I'm exhausted. I've read everyone's posts but I will reply tomorrow.
Need sleep... pmsl
Night girls.
x
-
ps. Jess, if I click on your blog thing, it says I can't go in there. Do I have to have a password thing? Or are you talking about something on your own site?
Jesus. My head is not working.
Back tomorrow.

LOL kate yer i think it must be unsettled baby day, jaylens been unsettled for most of the day and feeding every 2-3 hours, apart from like 5am-9am he was feeding every HOUR lol... hope hes good 2night, i need sleep!

well i just had a shower, wow actually had time lol... now i think i will lie on the couch, jaylen should wake in bout an hr for a feed!
EDIT - kate i fixed my blog, u can see it now :p hopefully
-
Hi ladies...
Missed a bunch as usual, am back to packing as we were moving then we weren't & now we are again...
As for 'unsettled baby day', I have that most days lol. She's usually not upset to be awake though... just... awake.
Jess, love your new ticker picture cute.
Was it Jen that said they don't bother with much in the way of clothes at home 'cept for a singlet & nappy? That's me alot too unless it's a cooler day as like you I have to wrap her in 2 wraps so she can't escape so I don't want her getting too hot. That & she hates being messed with so the less clothes to get on & off her the better.
Anywho ladies, hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone, I'm off to bed even though I'm not that sleepy 'cause I have to try to get some shut eye. (Would say beauty sleep but that would be a joke..!)
-
Have i mentioned i want quick reply back i'm sure i have and am just repeating myself.
The last few days Sophie just been in a nappy, singlet and then wrapped. But today was cold and raining so i had to put a bonds suit on her and put the mittens bits over her hands as they were cold and even had to put the aircon heater bit on this weather is ridiculous!! i wonder what tomorrow will bring weatherwise. Sophie had a good day today, feeding every 5hrs most of the time. My SIL gave me a baby carrier not sure what sort it is havent tried Sophie in it as yet as she looks too small for it and i dont want her to fall out of it.
Jess- speaking of having to take jewellery out for whatever reason, they made me take my earrings out for theatre and i put them in Chris' wallet and forgot about them and then tried to put them back in and had a little trouble with the right ear ive had my ears pierced since i was 10 and had trouble with them even then but they are back in.
Jen- yes over being in the house atm, going out tomorrow nothing exciting just food shopping plus i need to stock up on nappies, wipes and probably some other stuff. Im glad that Amber had a better day and i agree if your not worrying about them not sleeping your worrying about them sleeping alot etc, it can be stressful but with Sophie i'm really starting to notice the different cries and what she does when shes hungry or got pains in her tummy Chris is still learning whats what as he works and only spends a limited hours with her. Woohoo on your successful trip out. Good luck with the trip to Bendigo.
Kate- the letters sound cool a nice crafty project for you to do. With regards to bathing bubs i put the baby bath on the dining room table and bath & dress Sophie there means i'm not straining my back just yet leaning over the side of the bath tub just thought i'd share incase anyone else wanted to try it. Sophie still seems to fit into the newborn nappies fine. Good to hear you & Michael are getting along so well, and haha the b!tch is gone did she happen to take the plasma  does sound like she was influencing what he was doing.
Sazz- if its mastitis get to the dr and get it checked out.
Nik- Sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday. Your most welcome for the support, at some point or another weve been there for each other. I too never thought i'd get so much out of joining a pregnancy/baby forum and seeing as i dont have any friends friends in QLD you ladies have been great and i really feel i've made some good friends.
Jess- make sure your eating well or both your mum & Kates mum will be knocking on your door ;). Your blog thing doesnt work wont let me access it.
Maz- if you think your 'slack t@rt Maz' just remember your our slack t@rt Maz  just kidding. Lovely to see you in here and woohoo that Mat is back to loving his BB juice again. Sorry to hear you had a crap few days. How to i get Sophie to sleep overnight?.
QM- good to see you pop in. Bummer about the moving/not moving/moving would be totally frustrating.
**TMI but Chris was keen to DTD before he went to work earlier and i said no i'm a little scared and want to wait until ive had my 6 week check-up to get the all clear and the pill/injection so we dont have another baby on the way haha.
-
So tired...! :asleep: So much for getting some shut eye. Didn't manage to go to sleep until after 1 & then ofcourse Scally woke up....
....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
-
queenmab - oh i hear u on no sleep, i went to sleep at about 11pm and jaylen woke up atbout 1.30am... WELL he wouldnt go to sleep after that would he! was up til about 4.30am trying to settle him, then he woke again at 7.30 and is awake again, omg so damn tired lol.. how much sleep did u manage to get?
jo - haha yer i better eat well or kate and her mum will be on my doorstep, ohh good as, someone to visit me, ok im not gunna eat ROFL..
lol about DTD, as weird as this is gunna sound, i have a mate (we were gunna get 2getha b4 i got preg, thought he was the dad b4 i got my ultrasound bla bla) anway hes asked me if i wanted to DTD lol and im like NO im too scared haha!
boobs are SO damn sore 2day, they are burning! and when jaylen feeds its starting to hurt, its a different pain than it was at the start, its like hes sucking too hard, and just have the burning feeling all the time... i would go to formula but 1. mum would skitz haha! and 2. i dont think i can be bothered making up bottles, steralizing bottles, getting up in the middle of the night and making bottles, bla bla, and the price lol...
well off to have som brekkie b4 jaylen screams
-
It must be the time for sore bbs. Addy was feeding really often yest evening- wouldnt settle. My right bb was getting so painful, I ended up giving her some frozen EBM. It was throbbing after she came off. All night it was so painful and it made me cry when I fed her at 4am. This morning I can feel some hard lumps and it is still throbbing. Just the right bb. I think its just blocked ducts now, gave it a really good massage in a hot shower and will get tthe heat pack on soon.
I hope it fixes, I do not want to get mastitis!
-
"DTD" caught my eye so I had to say something before I go to pick up the bath AND take back my phone which is faulty!!! :wall:
I happened to ask my dr about DTD (don't ask ) and also my mate Belinda and they both said to hang off 'til the 6 week check. Fark, you'd hate to get an infection THERE! I'm already taking antibiotics for something I picked up in the hospy - kinda like thrush apparently but not - TMI - sorry. So, don't want anything else. pmsl It's all a bit scary anyway hey. What if it breaks again? pmsl!
Right, going to get my stuff done then I can come home and relax. Oh yeah, relax, that's funny... ha ha!
Back later.
x
-
mary - yer im not sure why our bbs are sore lol, i was thinking about going to formula but hmm not sure... dont know if i can be bothered with it all... maybe i should go to a breastfeeding person to see why it hurts
kate - yer right as if we can relax lol, i just put hairdye in my hair, hope jaylen stays settles while its in and while i wash it out! oh no hes starting to make noises!
jaylen is back with his dummy lol, tried it when he was really unsettled the other day and he took it and went to sleep, now he wants it all the time lol, damn i didnt want to give him a dummy but god its a lifesaver hehe
-
Hey ladies.
Ive been having problems still with BF. The little man has damaged my nipples to no return. Been expressing the last week.. with only 3 boobie feeds. So far the boobies are looking a WHOLE lot better. Gonna get the BF going again more and more every day.. BUT ITS BEEN SUCH A ROUGH ROAD. Its exhausting me. Im looking forward to being able to relax about feeding Joshua. Even the expressing is a worry.. worry that it will hinder my supply.. ect.
Im envious of anyone who is able to BF without a problem. My sister-inlaw for example!! We are going overseas in May and it would be SUCH a drama on the plain to not be able to Breastfeed properly. ITS STRESSING ME OUT ALREADY!!
AAARRGGHH
Sorry for the "deload" Ive been on BB to find some more info about my problems and felt the need to AIR out my thoughts.
Hope everyone is doing well.
-
Amber is asleep... Touch wood. She needs a couple of hours. She has only really had an hour here or there today.
Although we did get another night of sleeping 1030-5am, then she had a feed and went back 630-9. The health nurse says it is ok to let her sleep at night as long as she is putting on weight. We go there tomorrow so will see if she has.
Ok so we went to Aldi today and got the crawler size nappies. They look huge on her but the huggies newborns were getting too tight so I guess she will grow into these. I hope she doesnt leak because they are so big. We would have gotten the huggies on special at Big W but they didnt have any big boxes of girls crawlers.
The aldi nappies were like 50 for $15 and they have Aldi wipes 80 for $3 so will see how they go. I had all intentions of going MCN but the sposies are the lazy way out.... Now I have like a box full of newborn huggies left. One of my best friends is due in June so I will give it to her.... If my girl wasnt so big then she would still be in them!
The hospital just called. They want me to come in and see a physio regarding my tear. Because they shoved me out of hospital so quickly, they didnt get the chance for the physio to check me over fully. I was supposed to go on Monday but cancelled. I have a newborn and we are not up for that trip to the city for an appointment like that.... Plus I have to go to 2 clinics in April and May to check my tear and to see if I can have a natural birth again. Apparently with my tearing there is a good chance of it happening next child. So it may be a caesar.
Look at me rambling.......
Hope everyone is having a good day.
QM- Sounds like Scally and Amber are the same type of girls, not settling too well during the day and not being dressed in clothes too much!

Hi ladies,
Just thought I'd pop my head in and say hi. Got a clinic appointment tomorrow for Amy's weight so it will be interesting to see how much she's put on. I was wondering about when you go to the next size up in nappies too. I think I'll just wait until Amy is 5kg and then go into the infant ones......will have to wait and see I guess. I know which nappies not to buy. Someone gave me some babylove newborn nappies. Every one of them that I've used has leaked. It's like they don't absorb anything and the little frilly bits will not stay out, they always tuck back in so poo goes everywhere!! Speaking of which, I went to visit my cousin yesterday and Amy did a poo when I was feeding her and next thing I feel it running all over my leg. SOOOOOOOO gross! It went all over her clothes and everything. Just disgusting!! Hahahah. Luckily my cousin has three girls so she was very understanding hehehe.
Had a chat to Mark and it's not that he isn't being supportive, he just wants our little girl to get as much breast milk as we can give her and he just doesn't understand why I don't want to breastfeed. I can't give him a proper reason apart from the fact that it's stressing me out....and I can't explain why about that either......so I've decided that I will give Amy breast milk when we're at home with top ups hopefully until 12 weeks unless my supply dwindles. That's when paediatricians say you don't have to worry as much about sterilising etc too, so I will feel better if we can make it til then. In the scheme of things, it's only another 4 and a bit weeks. I can do that. I decided though that I won't breast feed when we go out. I will just take a bottle from now on. It works a treat. i did it today. I don't have to worry about what I'm wearing either (isn't that selfish!?). I have hardly any clothes that I can breast feed in at the moment so every time I go out I feel like a real frump cos I'm wearing crappy clothes.....does nothing for my self esteem.......so that is just one little thing I noticed today......
anyway, enough of that. Hope you are all having marvellous days. Amy had a really unsettled day on Monday. It's no fun is it!? You just want to make it all better and nothing seems to work! Better go xxxxxxxx I'm hooked on a show that's on in the afternoon, saints and sinners.......how embarrassing! Hehehhe.
Luv Nik and Amy xx

Nik- My DH was the same with our first born! He would keep saying to me that I should keep on trying with the breastfeeding because it was the best for bubby. I think he realised just how tough I was doing it when he saw my nipples were actually bleeding because of the pressure I felt to keep on trying:( I think thats the worst of it sometimes - there is pressure out there for mums to do it. I say Happy Mum, happy bub. I found a compromise in between and did half & half!
Jess- Know how you feel about the dummy too! LOL. I didn't want to give our boy it either. But hes had terrible wind & just wants to suck all the time and my boobie just gets too sore. So one night I thought I cant keep doing this & gave it to him! It will be a pain now getting him off it but boy its bit of a saver. Who wants to hear them crying, hey??
Nik - I've got an appointment today for Jackson & I'm keen to know how much he''s put on! LOL. Had a friend visit today & she was like ' He's grown a bit and he's a little chubbier! :) but yeah he is looking hthy! LOL.
Jen- I was thinking that too with my boy about the n/b nappies! I think next buy I will need to buy the next one up for sure:) Ahhh they grow so quick. We're already into the 000's now. Although your bub & Jess's will have been for a little while now wouldnt they being 10lp or so...
Tash- I really sympathise with you & know exactly the road your travelling! Its hard giving it your best shot isn't it! Do you use Lansolin at all on them? I did & still do occassionally. Might help a little bit:)
I wonder where Tiff & Maz are now?? I think they were the only Mums in the due thread other than Karen & myself who had a child or more:) Hmmm.
Sorry will catch with the other mums soon - gotta go!

Kate - i didnt know about the infectiong thing down there. We DTD 3 4 weeks after Mat was born..god it didnt friggen tickle either! Who you got your eye on woman????
Jess - have you got Lanolin for your nipples? It helps with the pain. honestly, get some asap.
Nik - hon yo have to consider your sanity with the whole BF anf FF thing. All you girls, it is just not worth getting stressed about. Honestly if its not working, try a different avenue. There is nothing wrong with FF your baby. So the experts say BF is best....but i think best for mama is better...happy mama - happy baby. your baby feels and senses your frustration and emotions. I FF 3 of my babies and Mateauz has has a few formula top ups...im just lucky that its worked this time and dont get me wrong, its been friggen hard. i dont like my nipples feeling like they have knifes shooting out of them, or burning like someone has a flame on them...i hate being hit and scratched from the little guy, I hate having big wet spots o my t-shirts and in my bed...need I go on, do yo hear me girls!
I would never look down on someone who FF their baby.
My advice - stop listen to other people girls - listen to your baby and to yourselves! It just upsets me that you girls are feeling $hit at this time...your ment to be loving and enjoying your babies not worry about this.
sorry I just wish I could give you all a big hug! Im running away now!
