Ashlea and I went out for dinner tonight and left the boys at home. It was my niece's surprise work Going Away Party (she's going to Uni this year). It was a good night, I had to leave by 9pm though as I had an underage person with me :rolleyes:
It annoyed me a bit when I first got there as I went inside with wait for SIL and niece and they have a few couches and chairs with little tables just inside the doors then the pokies is next to it with a partition up to seperate it. I sat down with Ashlea and a guy comes over and told me I'm not allowed to sit there as I have a child under 18 with me and the seating area is part of the pokies! I told him I'm just waiting for someone and then we'll be going to the other part to eat....he said if they are here within 5mins ok but otherwise you'll have to wait outside! So I just went outside, I didn't know how long I'd be waiting. I know they have laws etc but it was a seperate section and its not like Ashlea is going to chuck a dollar in a pokie machine! Or get served alcohol by mistake!

So proud of Jesse.. yesterday discovered how to swim by himself without me holding him (with a bubble). He was off when he did lol. Very cute.
Am making Keira's photo collage for her Naming Day next weekend today. Its suppose to be 44 out here today.. but is actually a quite nice temp atm. Hoping theyre wrong and it doesnt get too hot.
Anywho.. am too tired to type much more.. with these hot nights im awake more as the kids are awake all night too.

Hi all hope everyone is well, well we survived the feral heat yesterday!!!! These fires are so devestating and scary, hope no one has relatives in any othe affected areas.
We tryed solids again the other day and I did a bit of farax and some BLS (bread and potatoe fingers and breast chicken) only new thing was chicken and a few hours later we had huge vomits grrrr so not sure whats going on whether he took to much (dont know how as he sucked all teh things and chucked them away didnt really eat anything but farax) seeing pead soon re head tilt will ask then. Head til he still seems to lead one way but havent been able to do his exercises as he moves to much now and wont stay in positions i was ment to have him.

US - well for the last 2 weeks Izzy has been waking during the night and I really don't know what is going on, I really do hope that it ends soon. It's starting to tire me out and I can't even sleep during the day :( I can no longer leave her alone as she gets into everything, she even follows me around when she can't see me, very cute.
I am so sad about the devastation of the fires here in Victoria, my heart goes out to all the people that have lost their homes, loved ones and whole townships.

MIL is down that way. SIL was too, but only visiting. From all I know the fire hadn't quite reached the town where MIL lives, and that was last night. Haven't heard anything today though and DP can't get hold of her.

That's great about Jesse loving preschool. It makes it so much easier to get them to go when they like it. I couldn't being to imagine how I'd handle having a child that didn't want/like to go.

Lately we've been just putting him in the bed between us and he's actually going back to sleep. It's extra hard when you can't sleep during the day too, isn't it.

Just the usual. Tired, with disrupted nights + the heat. I'm so glad this week is suppose to be cool compared to the awful heat.
We've got 2 meals going a day here now with the solids. He has toast for brekky and vegies at night for dinner. Hhe has some fruit during the day or a biscuit.
It's been going pretty good food wise. He's loving the toast. so YAY!
He started doing the commando crawl deal the other day but hasn't really done it since. Sitting up is going alright. He just only does it when he feels like it, so if he doesn't want to sit up when I sit him down
he'll purposely lean to one side so he goes to his tummy so he can rolly polly around the floor.
He prefers to stand alot of the time and he's always trying to pull himself up to standing. Had him standing leaned up againest the lounge yesterday and he thought he was just the best. Giggling and chatting flat out.
Most days I'm hanging out for DP to get home at 5, but that's nothing new.
Haydie's been very chatting today. Doing these loud noises as if he's yelling. It's mostly at the cat too, and the birds outside. Haha

LOL Ashlea has been sleeping through again but she is a pain to get to sleep now, she keeps fighting it and if I do get her down, she is crying 10mins later....Its wearing me out too. She always wants to be held as well which I can't do all the time.
Tenny: If they can't walk I don't see the problem in being in there, like you said I wasn't sitting at a machine. If Jayden was there I would understand! What town is MIL in? Have you heard from her yet? Hayden sounds like he is doing great with his food and his standing!
1 Aunty and Uncle were told to evacuate their house, my Aunty left taking most of their things (they had plenty of warning) but my Uncle refused to leave, he stayed on with my cousins partner and his dad to defend the house. Luckily only the back of their property got burnt and the wind changed direction before it came closer to the house. One of my cousins tried going back to help them but she wasn't able to get through, she had to evacuate her house too. So as far as I know their houses are ok and everyone is accounted for.
I was watching ACA tonight and I was just in tears, all those poor families that have lost their homes, pets and worst of all family!
As for Us:
Ashlea has been having her Farex for just over a week now so yesterday I gave her a try of zucchini, she didn't like it too much I don't think but she was better today with it. I'll try her again tomorrow then Wed we'll start pumpkin. I pureed a zucchini and pumpkin yesterday and froze them in icetrays. She is now having Farex after her 2nd BF at around 8.30-9am and Veg around 11.15-11.30am.
Jayden is still coughing, but he hadn't been sick for a while until tonight. I feel so bad for him, I don't know what else to do. He also came out in a rash on his neck yesterday, went to the chemist (for something else) and asked, she reckons its heat rash but Jayden had been inside in a/c all day so I don't think so. He goes back to the Dr's on Friday for a follow up with the asthma meds.
We went to SIL/BIL's for a swim today and BIL said he had a package that arrived for me and I was like WTF who's sending me something to their house??? Over xmas BIL mum was there (she's in Syd) and she said she can get Peapods for free....well not for free but whoever she works for (some charity I think) they sell things for $1 a kilo whatever it is. So she said she'd send me some. I forgot all about it until today.....so I'll give them a go with Ashlea, she doesn't wet heaps so they should be ok maybe???

Mez as you can see we are having the night waking issues here too. Not sure what it is, it seems to be a different time every night! she is usually hungry so maybe I need to be giving her more solids. Or maybe it's an age thing since a few bubs are doing it atm! Would love to get my sleep throughs back though.... so going to go up to 2 meals a day if I can manage it.
Tan good to hear your relatives are safe. I hear you on the clinging and wanting to be held. tonight she was just cracking it at me because I was in the kitchen turning over roast potatos and I couldn't hold her. it's always in the evening when I'm trying to cook that she is the most clingy. it's hard work.
Such a tragedy in Victoria, it's a really sad day. I was holding Beth extra close today thinking of all the people who won't get to hold their loved ones tonight. :crying:

Tan.. aww poor thing hope hes better soon. Jess has had a heat rash all over his chest and back for a few weeks. Not nice. He just had a cold recently too so maybe the cold makes it a little worse? And at night they may sweat a bit?
Not much new here. Keira's on 3 meals a day.. porriage or baby cereal for breaky, fruit/custard for lunch and veges for dinner. But they have to be VERY pureed otherwise she gags and throws up. Not sure on what to do about that. Am going to buy some rusks today and see how she goes with those. But any lumps of any kind.. even if i dont make her porriage or cereal thin enough she gags. Gotta book in her 6-8 month check up so will ask the nurse then.
Things are coming along good for the naming day. Have made all the decorations in fondant for the cake. Going to bake the cakes on Friday as i need 5 cakes for it. Then will decorate on Saturday after swimming. Cant wait.

They also haven't mentioned the town on tv so that's also a good thing too, right?? She lives in Taggerty or something like that. Not sure what's going on with her phone or anything. I'm on DP's back to get hold of her and he just fights back at me.

Pix - Thanks for thinking of me. :hug: I haven't actually heard much about the fires here. It's not really on the radio or news. It's weird. I do know it's only burning bushland. My uncle lives close to it though. We're hoping the wind doesn't change direction and they can get it under control too. Haydie seems to be really clingy like Beth around when I'm getting dinner done. It's so frustrating.
Kell - I hope Keira likes the rusks. Haydie kinda liked them a little at first, but now hates them. He likes arrowroot biscuits. Gobbles them up in no time.

I feel bad cause I sent Elijah to school even though he said he was feeling sick. I think he might have felt a bit off in his tummy, but not at the throwing up stage. Even though he tried to force it out. :rolleyes:
Or maybe he was just trying to not go to school and wanted to watch Cartoons all day. I was like if you're staying home from school you can't watch Cartoons all day, you stay in your room and sleep.. he then said he felt much better.. so Idk.
I still feel awful and I'm hoping the day goes fast. This was my first time of trying to figure out whether he really was sick or not and having to decide whether he was going to school or not. I had to call DP to help me decide. lol.
I also got Haydie a little suit for my brother's wedding next month. We tried it on him. Geez he looked cuteeeeeeeee. I just need to get some shoes and fix the pants up.
The shoes at Best & Less were only in brown. I was so annoyed cause they were perfect!

Just an update on MIL cause she called DP. The mobile phone towers are back on at some places.
They are okay. They evacuated their place the other day. The town is still under threat but apparently the wind changed so if it doesn't change back then the threat may get less, I guess. They're currently at Alexandria, safe.
We're a bit teary here and so very very thankful they're okay.

Well callum is going so well with his TT'ing. 1 out of 5 or 6 nights wetting the bed. I think that is pretty good.
Liam is so funny. when he is sitting on me facing me he lowers his head to put it on my face. Then he will go side to side as if he is rubbing his face on mine. Very cute. Then we say awwww and he will do it again...lol Liam is on 3 meals a day and some. He has farex then toast for brekky. Loves the toast. he will have fruit for lunch and some of a sandwich. I break little pieces off and he really enjoys it. Dinner he will have vegies and some times with meat or chicken in it. Ive only been mashing and have stopped puree'ing it. chunks dont seem to bother him. He will taste just about everything I have as long as I think his little tummy will handle it. I was having ice cream the other day and he was looking at me hold his mouth open. I let him have a little suck of it and he wanted more. Only gave him alittle. He seem'd fine.

had a great day with kelly and Jesse today shopping, these two boys of ours are such good mates they just love each other so much. Isaac gets so excited when i say we are seeing Jesse today its just too cute. got myself a new pair of shoes and Dh a wii fit for our annavirsary on sunday. tho i gave it to him now cause he saw it and i couldn't waite. I am hoping for something made of gold. we never do gifts but decided a good gift every 5 years is ok. we are also going on a harbout lunch cruese to celebrate the weekend after.
The twins are doing Awsome! nither can sit up but sebi can stand when holding onto something and he loves to walk around in the walker too. caleb is almost crawling.
They can eat so well and anything you give them. LOL i let them have some chilly con carn (minus the salt) that we had the other night and they loved it. we eat lots of spicy food so they will learn to like it fast here. most days they have farex or porridge and 1/2 a whole bananna each for breakfast custard or spc fruit tub then toast with cream cheese or vegemite or even chunks of fruit for lunch and dinner its the 10 month plus food with fruit chunks or yoghurt for desert they also get a buiscut during the day at some point. they are funny they dont suck the chunks they bite bits off chew them and don't leave anything to spare at all. every little scrap is eaten. i think i will start them on 12 month jar food and more solid chunks in a week or two. i am thinking chicken and veg meatballs.
man i am just crapping on now LOL sorry.

Tennykins- im glad everyone in your famiily is ok. i really hope this all ends soon. its just so dam sad. and hope E is ok soon we just got over colds here too.

Ayapi sorry i cant really help you with izzy waking. i surpose if its at different times it could be just attention. isaac was always wanting to be rocked so he would wake during the night looking for me just to rock him. it took ages to get him out of it. he was probably about 6-7 months when it started too. i stopped picking him up and would just pat him then leave and let him scream for 10 mins before i would do it again and again it took about a week to get him to self settle. these days he is good. hope you work it out.

Well it's 9.15 and Beth is in bed and we have had dinner! Not very exciting for most of you I'm sure but it is for me because it's the first time in what seems like weeks that she has gone to bed at a sensible hour and dinner has been before 9.30 or 10pm :leap:

Tenny babe good to hear your MIL is OK. One of the girls on our August thread is right near the fires in Victoria, but luckily they were OK and their house was too. But many of the people close to their community weren't so lucky - such a terrible tragedy.

Mez, it occurred to me that maybe the reason for a lot of Beth's unsettled behaviour is that she is hungry. Her night wake ups are at random times (I read somewhere that this is usually hunger related, waking at the same time every night could be habit) and she is usually hungry - I thought maybe that is why she is so clingy in the evenings too - if I am holding her at least she thinks she might be getting a feed soon. Going to up her solids and give her more BF time and see if that helps.
She had her first swimming lesson today and it was great! She did so well, kicking like a champion and she wasn't scared at all going under. I was very proud!

Um hello to everyone else- I'm crap with personals these days. But I'm glad everyone seems to be going well.
We no longer self settle in this house - so rocking is in order - then DS usually wakes her up by screaming something .. this mornings effort she had just closed her eyes and was drifting off - he screamed that he wanted to watch Alex the lion (Madagascar) I swear, this child does NOT speak in a normal voice - just screams everything *sigh*
All the joys of having two kids huh!!!!!
Ahhh well... I'm still enjoying my 4 days a week at home now - although, we are going to go through the budget and see if we can get another day at junior kindy for DS - I think only 1 day a week is doing his head in a little, cos he gets upset now when we drop him off - but he didn't really get upset before... :think:
