Popping in quickly. I'll catch up on the last few pages tomorrow, but wanted to add in about clothes etc. Blake wears size 2 tops - although on Tuesday he wore a size 3 for the first time, and generally size 1 pants although he still wears his size 0 jeans even if they are a bit short, as I'm not buying any more this side of summer. Blake started in size 5.5 Clarks shoes and will be, no doubt getting size 6 for his summer sandals. I'm a bit fussy about shoes and only buy Clarks or similar. When kids wear hand-me-down shoes, their feet have to contend with the 'footprints' of the previous wearer, and if their footshape is different, which happens as everyone has slightly different shaped & sized feed, the new wearer can have their body out of alignment from having to deal with the imprint. It's just me, it's a foot thing. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but for me, new shoes are a must. OK, off my soap box!
As I said, will add more tomorrow, but wanted to say hi and let you know I'm still around.
Oh yeah Vanita. I wasn't until today that you mentioned in your post that someone buzzed you that I realised that all your 'midnight' posts are from work. At least I assume they are. I thought you were just a really bad insomniac!
ETA: Kate, Blake's been wearing size 2's for AGES!
What's everyone buying for the bubs (although they're not that little any more really *sob*) for Christmas?
Love to all!

Hi girls,
We are fully recovered YAY! Al has been so demanding whilst sick so I am relieved to say he is in day care this morning and I have a break. I feel wonderful. I'll keep this brief as I have a few things to do.
Kate - What a shame that your sister didn't want to join in on the photo shoot. Can you try convincing her again? Al is the same size as Dion by the sounds of things, he can still fit into 0 but also wears 1...we struggle keeping the pants up though. He is in 4-5 shoes as well. 4 in sandals and 5 in boots as we usually have thick socks underneath..getting colder here. But as I said he is under 10 kgs and probably closer to 9 after this illness. Cute sounding santa outfits. Al has to wear a hat when we're out these days cos of the cold and we have to tie it on him otherwise he will take it off. Maybe you could sew a couple of ribbons onto each side of the hat and then tie it under her chin,if you really want to keep it on.
Bec- wow at going to Billy Joel. I saw him a hundred years ago when I was a fan. I wonder if he will play the same stuff? Is it in a big venue? I hope you enjoy it and happy anniversary!
Brooke - any further thoughts on the bed? As far as feng shui goes, I think they would say Maya needs to feel this is her own bed. So make sure that if you do decide to recycle yours, you give it fresh sheets and mattress protector etc so that she feels it is hers IYKWIM?
Bel - U2! Another band I've seen at the Syd Ent Centre so many years ago. All the old favourites are coming out again. They should put on a good show, enjoy! Hope Canberra is fun and Coby enjoys the drive (ie sleeps). Maybe have a word to MIL about NUTRITION, hasn't she ever heard of it????? Bloody hell, what a shocker! Problem is it probably won't make any difference what you say, she will do it anyway. Just make sure if they are at your place, that these food items are hidden from her so the temptation isn't there..
Vanita- I am not sure about boys being more common here. I know within our mothers group we have 5 boys and 1 girl, so it is certainly the case in that regard, so it may well be true. This year has certainly gone fast! Our kids are going to be driving us to the nursing home before we know it!
Okay so much for making it short! Hope you are all well Heather, Gemma, Rachel, Hay, Beckles and anyone else I missed..
-
Yep Rachel, am at work when I reply at odd times, definately NO imsomnia here LOL ( unless I am paid to be an insomniac...)
Brooke, sorry to hear the budget is tight, I must admit that I remeber those early day when mortgage and kids were new, I dunno I think you just learn how to adjust after a while. I am the layby queen, LOL, I admit my life is comfortable, and not a struggle like the early days ( at least until we get a bigger house :) ) We have about 11 people to buy for, as on DH's side there are no kids, and we have younger siblings, so no Kris kringle here either ( bumma) TBH I buy something small, but personal, I dont usually spend more than $20 a person ( when the kids were little it was $5 - $10 ) you know a nice set of coffee cups, a personalised glass, a tshirt, stuff on spec at house ( platters etc) good luck, you can always try the voucher idea ( an hour long massage, babysitting, ironing etc) good luck.
Deb, it sounds as if our little tykes are very similar doesnt it. would love to see them together ( though Dion is a bit of a rough nut)
Dion has bitten a few of the boys at playgroup. There are 2 boys who think he's their personal doll, and they pick him up and drag him around, so when he cracks it, he used to head butt them , well we have been strongly discouraging the head butting, so now he's bitten them, UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell him off, but in a way i feel its the older boys own fault KWIM............. they are 3 and 4 and frankly should leave him alone. anyway thats my winge for the day.
Love to all, must go and do what Im getting paid for.
v
-
Well Dion threw a tantie at swimming and bit me on the shoulder - yelp !!!!!!!!!!now I have a lovely bruise mark on there _ UGH !!!!!!!!!!!!gotta go get the girlies from school

Hi girls
Just popping in quickly to say Jonah had his first night in his bed last night and BEST thing ever to have done, and I know for sure that it was time. He slept wonderfully. He was in a huge crank yesterday so went to bed at 7:30, only cried out once in the night, he needed his pipe (dummy) and slept until 8am. Didn't cry at the door when he got up like usual (even when he was on the mattress on the floor he would cry at the door), he just knocked on the door and I knew he was awake. So big woooohooooo's here :D
-
Well I was going to post a big post yesterday and ended up playing with something creative - oops sorry. It was a BB thing though, so stay tuned.
Kate, I hope you got a better night's sleep last night after the accupuncturist. Brave little Rylee did so well. And it sounds like Kelse had fun at your old work too. I hope that it works out for you to go back to work. It will be good to have your Mum close by to look after the girls too. Good luck with the 3 weeks off dairy. It wont be as hard as you think. Can you have soy as a substitute as I know it's hard to have tea or coffee without milk - although from memory am I right to say you don't drink either?
Vanita, OUCH! for Dion biting you at swimming. Little monkey! My mother would say to bite him back. She had to do that with one of her wombats who would always bite her ankles. She bit Bridget -the wombat - whenever she bit Mum on the ankles and Bridget stopped biting very quickly! True story!
Brooke, I hope you're feeling better honey. There's nothing worse that feeling like crap. I'm glad you worked out what you would do with Maya and the double bed. It's great having BB to bounce things off, isn't it? Congrats on finding your wedding dress too (I'm a few posts behind!) I remember shopping for mine like that. You try on a few, and them BAM! you find the 'right' one. I'm sure it's gorgeous.
Bel, did you have your accupuncturist appointment? How did it go? How's Coby doing? I hope that you enjoy U2 on Monday. I'm so envious of everyone (in general) going to all these shows. I would love to see U2, Kylie, Pearl Jam and Robbie Williams (yeah a mixed bag of entertainers I know) but all the tickets went on sale when we were about to go to Paris, so I had to make my decisions then. I'm glad I chose Paris, but wish I could do both!
Bec, it sounds like Jonah had a fabulous night in his new bed. How grown up he is! Do you feel like you've lost your baby now, or are you just so excited to share the experience of growning with him? I know Viv was 2.5yrs I think, when she went into a bed or 2 1/4. Before that we had the side off the cot for about a month. She loved her bed, but she was a lot older. Blake will be staying put for now, after all we've only just got his sleeping sorted out. He does like lying on the car bed in his room when he's tired. Sometimes he just climbs onto it cause it's low and easy to get on. He loves it and will probably be in it by the time he's two.
Brooke, you'll be interested to know that I took Blake to get his shoes checked to see if they still fit - which they do - and we got him measured for sandals for summer. Well I couldn't believe it. He'll be getting a 6.5G for his next shoe! OMG how big is that!!! I guess he is a big boy. They needed to order them in for him cause they didnt' have that size. I was hoping for a last season shoe to save a bit of money(yep our budget is tight too), but they didn't have any! :(
Hi Deb. How are you going honey? Sounds like winter is starting to head your way. How's Al doing since his time in hospital? Sounds lilke he's starting to enjoy day care. It's hard when they do, isn't it? You're torn between wanted them not to need you, and wanting them to enjoy themselves and be happy. I hope it works out ok. Hopefully you can enjoy the quiet time for you and your bump. Still got m/s? I hope it goes sonn if you do.
Hi Gemma. Sounds like work is keeping you quite busy. How's your gorgeous Amy going? Have all her bumps and bruises gone? Say hi to DH for us. We hope to see you and/or him at the next meet. Please let him know he and Amy are more than welcome if he wants to hang out with a bunch of chicks!
Hi Hay. Sounds like the show was a big success and a whole lot of fun. I bet your cows are glad to be back in the paddock being normal cows again? How's Pup? Getting big I bet. Come and visit again soon when you have time.
As I might have mentioned (or not) DH installed our dishwasher last weekend. It was a hand me down that we had had in our garage for nearly 2 years as we couldn't a 'spot' to put it in the kitchen. Well DH decided last weekend it was going in, no matter what. He did an amazing job but unfortunately I lost my applicance cupboard so for the time being they're all sitting on my dining table. At least we can all eat at the breakfast bar/kitchen bench to eat our meals. Today we put a deposit on a kitchen dresser which we will put the applicances and other stuff into. We'll get it next weekend so another week without a table, but then I get a dresser. Woo hoo! And it was DH's idea!!!
As I mentioned I've got to wait for Blake's size 6.5G summer sandals to come in! What a boofa! He's such a gorgeous loving boy most of the time, but he does have ratbag in him, and has taken to hitting when he gets frustrated. Viv doesn't like it much as he usually is hitting her - ahh the joys of having a brother! He's now got 14 teeth as two eye teeth have cut - he may even have another but he wont let me look, and I sometimes forget too!
Better go ice a cake for a friend. It's her birthday today so we're taking a cake around for afternoon tea when Blake wakes up.
Enjoy this beautiful sunny Saturday everyone.
-
wow Rache, what a fabo post. I did bite him back ( gently on the arm, to try gain his attention too, coz he was still attached to me!!!!)great news about the dishwasher and dresser too!!! We got a dishwasher with this house, and I tell you I will never go without now!!! : ) we had a new cupboard put in a couple of weekends ago, as when we got the new fridge we needed to move the microwave into our old cupboard, so I lost some space, ( but I got a new pantry out of it LOL) what a big foot!!! Dion still wears his size 4 winter shoes, and his summer sandals are a 5 and still have a fair bit of room at the toe
Hay, hope you are feeling well, and enjoying a BD fest.
Gemma, work and assignments must be keeping you busy
Bec WOOHOO for Jonah, what a big boy!!! you must be very proud.
Deb, I hope you are all well, are you still on the home lookout???
Brooke, yippee for the wedding dress, I was hoping to wear my old one for next year, but I havent lost a single kilo yet, despite the gym and walks, and diet improvements, so I might have to look at other options ( dont really want to spend much of course)
Kate hope Rylee's acupuncture went well, and the reflux settles. I couldnt have dairy when bf ( as I am lactose intolerant myself and it caused the kids massive belly aches- )I used to drink lactose free milk, its in the UHT aisle at the supermarket.
well got inspired, and spent the morning at fountain gate, and got some xmas shopping done, gosh its already getting hairy out there!!! Dion has spent the morning asleep or crying, poor darlin' he's leaking out of every orifice lOL, snot, tears, and dribble!!!!! the littlies both asleep now, so must get off her, and get the roast organised for dinner so we can go for a 9 km walk when they wake up.
mwah
-
well the roast is on, the vegies prepared, am going to pop my sneakers on, and will have to wake the littlies - which i hate doing, but wont have time to walk if I dont, as with the big girls along the walk takes 1& 1/2 hrs so need to head off to get back to put the roast vegies in, hey Kate we take take a cyber walk together, have you got a pusher both girls go in? If so, pop on your sneakers and lets go!!!!
It would be lovely to have you along.
C U all later.
-
woohoo Kate, good girl Rylee........ hope it works and you get a great night zzzzzzzzzzzz
sending lotsa sleepy vibes your way
Ummm cant think of anything other than the obvious. I am intolerant, not allergic, so can tolerate small amount, just not able to have a dairy fest. check your mayo, other than that nothing comes to mind.
-
Kate, I'm glad Rylee did so well at the accupuncturist (will have to work out an abbreviation for that as I have to think too much when I type it! LOL) I hope it gives you all a good night sleep. Pls tell Kelse she'll get extra kisses from Blake if she sleeps well tonight for you.
Enjoy your Dad's party tomorrow. Wish him happy birthday for us!
-
HI lovelies,
Kate - Great that Rylee is 'enjoying' her accupuncture and is sleeping. Your dad is a spring chicken! Happy birthday to him. Avoid milk chocolate Kate, maybe if you need a choc fix go for dark choc. And my DH often uses coconut milk as a milk substitute.
Vanita -I agree our little boys would probably be Trouble put together. Al isn't violent but his screams (whether he's playing or crying) can cause hearing damage! Good on you for getting out there and walking, you should be seeing some good results. Haven't found anything yet as far as a new place goes, still looking..got any ideas?:)
Rachel - ooh what's the creative thing you're doing for BB? We have all be hit by gastro thanks to what the doctor calls the 'daycare plague' - seems it is a part of a initiation for families starting up. We were worried at first Al's temp would spike and we would see more convulsions but thankfully it didn't happen. I have been lucky enough not to get m/s this preg too. I'm jealous of your sunny saturday! Hope you had a good weekend.
Bec- yay Jonah and sleeping so well in his bed. Has he kept it up?
Brooke - how are you feeling?? Have you had to buy the HPT yet? We don't overspend here too, but mind you we are living in one of the most expensive cities in the world - I think Copenhagen is closely behind Oslo and Tokyo! So it is just absurd and no bloody wonder we are cramped in this little place. I heard home prices were going up in Perth still. I wish I knew the secret to having millions of dollars Brooke, or simply enough to afford to live a little luxuriously.
Bel - I think it was you that asked why I think its a boy. It is just a feeling. When mum was visiting she took a look at me and said 'boy'. And mums are always right, right? lol We were visiting some friends yesterday and they have 2 boys age 9 and 7 and they were sooo lovely. They are best of friends and play together and were super sweet with Al. So I think DH saw the light, and realised that having 2 boys isn't such a terrible thing afterall. I was beginning to worry that he was going to be so disappointed if we didn't have a girl.
-
Just a quicky before Blake has lunch and then his sleep. I took Blake to the MCHC today to weigh him - we didn't have an appointment but we can weigh any time. He's now 12.5kg. I think that's the same is Kelsey, isn't it Kate?
Then we went to the library to get some books and to the supermarket. I think I'm going to take Blake to story time at the library next year. I think it will help him to be a few months older cause they do stories then a craft activity and puzzles. He'll appreciate it more in 3 or 4 months once schools back.
Running around as usual after Viv. She has school swimming every day for 2 weeks so its lots of washing - bathers, towel and hair! each day, plus skating Monday & Wedensday but we also need to go today as she needs to get new stoppers for her skates and wants to give them a 'test drive'. And my husband laughs and asks me if I'm going to be watching Oprah again today. Does he think I sit on my bum all day? (I know he doesn't but he often jokes about it!)
Oh yeah, Bel, how was U2? :D
-
Hi girls, we're back, but just a quick one from me cause Im soooo tired!!
Coby is going well.
He wears 00 pants and 0 shirts, he only weighs 9.8kgs and is a size 4 shoe (with the Clarks measurement thingy)
Glad Rylee's acupuncture went well, hopefully it continues. Im raving about mine, I really think its working beautifully!
Well done to Jonah about the big bed. Its great to get a good nights sleep huh!!
Brooke, I remember when we first moved into our house we were tight for a while, dunno what it was really, just one of those things I guess...
Deb, yes it was me who was asking about the sex of bub and why you had those thoughts...are you going to find out?
Vanita you sound like such a fitness fenatic. I try to go for a run on the treadmill everyday, but that hasn't happened lately. I have personal training on Mondays, then play netball, then on Wednesday personal training again. I love fitness, but I hate the thought of going, but when I get there I love it!!
How is Blake going with his sleeping??
-
Oh Kate . hope the Zantac does the trick. Hugs babe. We are DEFINATELY having just 2 babies! I am almost certain I just am not cut out for this motherhood role some days - it is so challenging. Lack of sleep over such a long period of time really breaks the best of us down. I hope you can get some rest and revive. Al has started a new thing of waking at 3am until 5am - bright as a bean. I have been sitting up with him in the dark on the lounge - he is quiet but awake. Finally gets back to sleep to wake again for the day at 6ish! With my preg insomnia there is no chance I can get back to sleep again..but DH has been wonderful and getting up with him at 6, otherwise I think I would have jumped out the window by now.
Welcome back Bel. We won't be finding out the sex, we had the ultrasound last week and there won't be anymore, if all goes well. Good on you for getting out there and doing your sport!
Rachel - you are a busy one! Hope Viv likes the stoppers on her skates. They make an outdoor ice skating rink every winter in a square around the corner from us here. I noticed today they are beginning to clear the space for it. I doubt I will be going though, as I am not any good at skating and being preggers as well, probably just isn't wise.
-
Hi girls.
Nothing much to report here. Coby went to swimming today and loved it as usual. He's been extra whingey this afternoon, I know there are some molars coming but I just wish they would bloody hurry up and come through, its just agonising for everyone involved.
We have another huge weekend on, work xmas party on Saturday and Saturday night, then a christening on Sunday, which I just spent the day decorating the cake for my friend today, loooonng day....
Gotta go. Chat to you all soon xxoo
-
Hi girls!! Nope I haven't fallen off the globe. Been busy, but much like most of you, so I haven't got anything to really complain about. Nothing exciting much happening. Been swimming this week and Pup is LOVING it. Bel, I reckon Coby and Pup are very similar (size, temperament etc..) They would get along famously.
Deb, don't be too hard on yourself honey. You're in a foreign country, have not long worked out the language, had a baby, are pg again, are facing customs that we don't normally do (ie the childcare thing), with a DH that is sometimes away for periods of time....Man. My DH is here every night and I still feel like I haven't got a handle on it all some days and am glad to have a "handover" even if it is just for 30 minutes. You're doing fine!
:help: I have a question for those with bubs that have gone throught the biting stage. How do you handle it? Pup is REALLY biting now and TBH (and this is not a great admission...) he came up and bit me on the arm yesterday and would not let go. So while he was biting me, I bit him back on his shoulder blade through his clothes. But he still didn't let go. I bit harder and so did he!! I ended up letting go before he did and we both had battle scars fromt he experience. He had a red mark on his shoulder blade and I had a raised bruised painful lump on my arm. And then today, he came up and bit me on the back of my arm and nearly took a bit of flesh off! Cripes. I just reacted and smacked his bum (he wears cloth nappies, so the crying was from indignation, not pain), but I know this is going to do squat. What should I do???? Even DH is getting a bit sick of it (since he's started biting him as well). I am wary of him biting other kids as he bites really hard,
I have had our yard measured up for a fence. God, it's going to cost us an arm and a leg (just over $3000  ) for a pretty straighforward fence. We are getting one of those powder coated picket fences. We live right on the Princes Hwy and the little man has made a break for the yard a couple of times now. Once, I didn't even know he'd gotten outside and fortunately he ended up chasing a chook back to the henhouse rather than going to other way to the highway. DH is lamenting the cost (so am I), but as I said, I'd rather spend the money than run the risk with Pup and the highway. Anyway, it's comign up on nice weather and he is going to want to go outside more often. And now he is walking perfectly ok, he can go outside more. Plus, he is getting a climbing frame thing for Christmas.
Well, that's about it from me. Still in the TWW. Am thinking of doing Christmas cards and using the cows from the show on them (might sit Pup on the cow's back or something????). Actually this was DH's suggestion. Might look ok.!!!
-
Hay, you need to be firm, and every time he bites, say "no" in a firm, deep voice, if he continues after youve said no, then time out in bed or somewhere safe. ( I did bite Dion back too, but he released me straight away - not as strong willed as pup ? ) and he hasnt bitten since.
OMG that is an expensive fence, but I agree, you gotta keep em safe. the cow photos sound very cute. my mum got Dion an elf outfit, so I need to dress him up and pose him : )
Bel, sounds busy over your way too, I think this time of the year is a very social one, with lots of "do's"
Brooke, hopefully Maya is just grumpy from the heat and the toofy pegs, and once you get an AC all will be better, hey how dare you have a social life, and not spend ages with us LOL. ( I have 2 AC's a split cycle in the lounge, and one in my b'room, and it doesnt get as hot here thats for sure, I dont know how to survive without one )
Deb, aww honey sounds like the sleeping times are going tough there ATM. does Al cry to get up, or just play happily?? Maybe you need to just leave him if he's happy, and let him hopefully resettle??
Kate, aww hugs honey, would love to give you a night sleep. How has Rylee gone with the zantac?? Is it helping? I hope you are sound asleep right now, having happy dreams.
Rachel, sounds like this time of the yr hey??? Frantic. where does Viv skate, as we are taking the girls and a few friends for tehir b'day ( two weeks from Saturday)
Well our lives are busy busy at the moment, with Ballet concerts and school concerts and b'day preparations. it will all settle down in the new yr, but not before. I only have 3 more xmas pressies to get so thats good.
love to all, must go do some ob's.
-
Hey Vanita, are you a nurse? Probably should know that by now, shouldn't I? Last night was a better night with Al's sleep, so I hope that little phase is over with. Might have been tooth related. Like Coby, I think Al's molars are coming, but taking their time to pop through.
Sounds like that fence is essential for some peace of mind Hay. Least then you can let him roam free without worrying he's on the highway. The photos of Pup on the cows sound adorable! Can you photoshop him in or will you do real life shots?
How did the cakedecorating go Bel? What did you do this time?
-
Forgot to mention Hay, that my mum would probably also have recommended the bite back technique with Pup. I like the time out strategy Vanita suggests. I wonder why he wants to bite though? Do you think he's hungry??? Teething? Could it just be part of nature, one of those things from our historic past, afterall we are carnivorous animals.. he just needs to learn that its probably a bit anti-social to be a cannibal!:)
Thanks for your kind words too, you're a Gem. Fertile blessings!!:fertilise:
Did I mention we are off to Turkey next week, for a week. DH will be working most of the time, as he has a conference to attend in Istanbul, but we are tagging along anyway. I've been there before many years ago, so it should be good to see it all again. Mostly looking forward to shopping, should be interesting dragging Al through the bazaar!
-
Bugger Work!!! This is going to be a loooong post so try not to fall asleep reading it! I like to go back to where I left off but some is quite old but I will try to keep up more.
Brooke – Sorry to hear you are not having a good time at your job and your IL’s – there is always the Platinum chat you could use if you decide to become Platinum. From what you wrote, you were never 100% about the new job so maybe it was best to turn it down. I feel for you in your job and hope you are coping okay. I am also sorry to hear poor little Maya being sick, I am glad she is feeling better. WTG on finding the perfect dress, I am really happy for you! I haven’t thought of a double bed so not sure what to say about using your futon for Maya. Good on you for having a budget and being able to stick to it. It may be hard for now but it will not be forever. When we run out of money we use credit which is the absolute wrong thing to do. Hope you get your air conditioner soon and you get some relief from the Perth heat.
Kate – Well done at getting your Xmas shopping finished, you must be so relieved to have it done. X sounds like a real PIA, you are doing well being assertive. This person obviously has problems and the only way I can think of to deal with it is to be direct stopping just short of telling where to go. How dare X ask if anyone wants a turn!! Good on you for mentioning it. The 3 beds will come in handy especially as you want more kids. That is great about working occasionally and it was nice of your old boss to offer it to you. Everything happens for a reason and you were meant to run in to your old boss! I hope Rylee can get some relief for the Reflux (if that’s what it is) and it doesn’t last too long for the poor little girl. Hope the Zantac works for her. Sleepy Vibes for Rylee. I hope you catch up on your sleep soon. I’m really happy the acupuncture went well and I hope the non-dairy helps too. LOL at the truckies comment. Happy Birthday to your dad.
Rach – I am really pleased that Blake has been sleeping well. We are the same with shoes and only use new shoes for Amy because of the ‘footprint’ you mentioned. How did Viv go at her skating comp, you probably did mention it. 6.5 shoes, wow! Blake has always been a big boy. DH is not coming on Monday, too much girlie talk. WTG on the dishwasher and what a good DH to install it (finally!). So what was the creative stuff you did on BB? I am intrigued! The storytime should be good, let us know how it goes.
Bec – What did Jonah like best at the Zoo? We went a couple of weeks ago and Amy loved the ducks in the bird enclosure, could have taken her to the lake for ducks!! Wow at Jonah in the big bed. He sounds like he is going really well. Can’t wait to see Jonah’s Pixi Photos. Happy Anniversary!
Vanita – 10 years married with 4 kids, that beats 14 years and 1 kid by a mile!! Your life is so busy with the kids things. What a cheeky boy Dion is turning all the electrical things on and off. He would be picking up so much from his sisters. WTG Rianna on the TT!! Hope you are feeling okay and Dion too. I don’t advocate biting but good on Dion for sticking up for himself. Ouch at Dion biting you, naughty boy! PMSL - I did bite him back ( gently on the arm, to try gain his attention too, coz he was still attached to me!!!!) A 9km walk, are you crazy woman? We should join you in the occasional walk if you don’t mind but buggered if I could do 9km.
Deb – Do any other mums stay at Daycare? It is funny how different cultures are in different countries. I am sure you will be glad that Al is in daycare when you are in your 3rd tri and you will be needing more rest. Your later posts seem more positive about it and Al sounds like he loves it, playing cards with a 3 year old – what a grown up boy! Snow, wow!! I am glad you and DH had sorted things out. Sorry to hear Al has a stomach bug. Vent whenever you need to, that’s what we are here for. You have been through a lot lately so we try to understand and help when we can. Enjoy Turkey!
Bel – Surely your MIL must be conscious of the mess she leaves. Amy does playgroup once a week with DH and we are considering Gymbaroo next term. Swimming will be starting soon. Over protective and silly? Of course you are not!! I was furious at your MIL when reading your post…I hope you mum can look after him next week as it is unacceptable that she lets him get hurt. Cake, chips and lollies, stupid woman (sorry it is your MIL). You must be so pleased getting your braces off, I had some years ago and it was fantastic when they came off. The acupuncture sounds great. Hope you are recovered from your busy weekend.
Hay – That’s funny about Pup taking of his socks – at least he brings them back now. Woof Woof is very cute. Congrats on your results for your cow and calf. Are you going to do the Melb Show next year? I would like to see the photos. Good luck this month, fingers crossed. Sorry I don’t have any suggestions re biting but I’m sure others will. I would get the fence if you can as it is a good investment.
Amy is great. Her speech is improving every day and her favourite things are dancing and talking on the phone. Everything is a phone and she chats away and giggles and she is sooo cute to watch. One funny thing she is doing – when the Optus add comes on TV she stands there the whole time and says ‘Yeah’ until the end when they say it.
We are really wanting to move to a large property in the country. We have to sit tight for about 5 years so I can resign from full time work and work on our business/s. Also, as we bought a new house we can’t sell it for much more ATM because it is in a new estate. I have about 10 business ideas on the go ATM with one starting in the next couple of weeks so you will see a BB Market place link on my sig soon. Still behind at school and I have 3 assignments to do before Christmas. Went to the doctors to get blood tests done and have to have them done on CD21 to check the progesterone surge. Also have to have a pelvic u/s to check for cysts. It’s been 12 months TTC but I still think (hope) it is because of timing because and I haven’t put much of an effort in BD. BD once this month and are in the TWW. Bought the CSIRO 2 book today so will start that and see if weight loss helps with TTC.

Hi Gemma, can't wait to see your BB marketplace.... Amy sounds like such a cutie, talking on the phone! Coby loves to do that too....
Hay, wow at the biting! Do you think its purely an attention thing? I really believe that Coby does things (naughty things) for attention. I know you seriously can't ignore when he's biting you, but perhaps what Vanita suggested might do the trick? A bit of time out, so he gets to know that when he bites he's going to get a negative reaction and lose the attention that he truly craves? Dunno, its a hard one honey....Good luck tho...
Deb, thanks for asking about the cake decorating. I was doing a cake for a friends little boy's christening which is this Sunday. She really loved it which is great. It wasn't as elaborate as the birthday cake I made for Coby though, but just as special....
Not much going on here today, Coby's been really out of sorts. I think his teeth are REALLY bothering him, just wish they would bloody come through! Sleeping is back to 40 min naps and he's tired all day and cranky, ahhh the joys of parenthood!! ha ha ha!

I'll give the "time out" a go. Nothing else seems to be working. I suspect that he won;t care about being put in his cot/room/etc away from me. He quite easily amuses himself....quite frustrating really.
I dunno why he does it. I don't believe that he is doing it to hurt or be vicious, maybe more of a thing to do. Of course he gets a reaction, but it is always negative, so I dunno why he persists.
He does other stuff too which pushes my buttons. We have a sideboard in the dining room and the doors are very easy to open. Over the past few months, he has managed to get everything out of this cupboard and strew it across the floor. There is just a box of wrapping paper and sting in there now and I leave it there to make a point that he shouldn't be in that cupboard (but if he does get stuck into it, it doesn't really matter....I don't let him in on that fact though). But EVERY day he goes into that cupbaord, despiute having 2 cupboards of his own to go into and play in. And if I say "no" in a very firm voice, he looks at me, gives me this cheeky grin and keeps going!!! OMG, what a little bugger! So when I get up to go over to him, he runs away laughing like it is a game. Sigh...I think I have one of "those" kids!! No mum is gunna let my son play with their kids for fear of him turning them into deliquents!!! LOL
But I love him to bits!
-
Yep Hay, there is no way pup could ever play with Dion - he'd be a bad influence HA HA HA HA HA ROTFLMAO............
We just bought some new baby latches today, as I am sick of my dear son pulling EVERY DVD and video out of the cabinet and onto the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have rubber bands around every cupboard door nob, and the only cupboard I let him trash are the tupperware and saucepans. do you think he goes there Oh NO!!!!!! Rianna STILL trashes my body wash if left in my shower _ brand new yesterday almost empty today....
PUP IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO NORMAL
-
LOL as I wrote that last message, Dion had found a bottle of conditioner, and empited it on himself and the kitchen floor, so I have one very slimy boy in the shower atm.....
-
Al has a bad habit of emptying my handbag all over the floor. Yesdterday he managed to get into a jar of lip gloss and was well on the way into eating it... He is also always hanging around if I want to use the computer, like now...and it all ends in tears...
-
LOL at Dion and the conditioner!!!!! I had to laugh at that one Vanita. He's such a cheeky boy!
We also have rubber bands/hair ties around all the kitchen doors. Viv has a gate at her bedroom door as I don't think it's fair that she has to shut her door all the time, particularly when she's in there - unless she wants to. Our rubbish bin is between the kitchen and the laundry - strange older house with a little hallway between the two - and I can shut this door if I want to, but generally Blake doesn't go into it. The only other thing that's 'banded' is under the bathroom sink where all the other chemicals are, and of course, the toilet door is always shut cause he's just too interested in going in there!
I have to say that generally Blake's not too bad. The worst he does is empty his tub of balls all over the floor - they used to be in a ball pit but the 'pit' got a hole in it and kept going flat; it was like a blow up pool. He went through a stage of taking DH's books of the shelves and tore one to bits. He also used to 'read' all DH's aviation mags, and take photo frames off the shelves. But for now, he's being pretty good. All he wants to do is go outside. In fact he'd much rather be out the front so we can go and visit the neighbours than do almost anything.
He's rather funny with that - side tracking slightly. We live in a court and there's only 5 houses so it's pretty safe and we know everyone. And so does Blake! He'll go towards next door, and I'll follow him. And he looks to see if the cars in the driveway, and if it is, he'll go down the driveway, up their stairs, and stand under the doorbell grunting for me to pick him up so he can ring it. If there's no car, and I say, Pam's not home, he'll keep going to the next house. He's so funny. It's a good thing that all our neighbours are so accommodating cause as soon as they open the front door, he's in like a light, exploring! Cheeky monkey!

Gorgeous. She is growing up so quickly!

Awwww man, slacko me.
Hi Girls
Will try to keep up from now on, I have been reading but not posting, naughty me I know.
-
Hi everyone!
Brooke - glad to hear your meds are helping you feel better and good on you for getting the help you needed as you did. I hope you are able to keep on posting here with us. ((hugs)) So cute to hear Maya snuggles on the couch with you. what a little darling.
Al does the tantrums too, he becomes very frustrated when things don't go as he wants them to!!!!! Esp when tired. I'm not entirely sure how to react actually. Sometimes I ignore him. Other times I copy him in a joking way and he starts laughing. What do you do?
Vanita - I bet you're looking a million dollars with that exercise program. Feeling it at least. Cycling would be so good for toning your legs and bum, so keep it up! Great that Dion enjoys sitting on the back. Great to hear you had a little gathering there today and it went well.
Kate - good to hear from you. I saw Kelsey's pictures and she is looking wonderful!
We are off on thursday for Turkey. We bought Al some new pencils and a colouring book for the plane, ever hopeful that there is an artist in there somewhere. And we also bought him a new Winnie the Pooh laptop, which wasn't too expensive. Seeing as the one we gave him to muck around with was such a huge success and he eventually succeeded in breaking it...we thought we would try again (mad!). But hopefully it will keep him satisfied for some of the flight.
If I don't catch up before then, will be in touch on return. Hugs all round!

Awwwwwww Vanita :( Little monkey. I do hope you get to have a nap today.
I think I remember a few of you asking how Jonah was going in his bed? He's going wonderfully. Not once has he fallen out so the bed guard is doing it's job and he's sleeping all the way through again. Not once has he woken at 5am and had to come into our bed to sleep the rest of the way. I/We leave the door open once I/we have gone to bed and he just wanders down to us in the morning and wakes us up, usually he'll get into bed with me/us and has a cuddle before I/we get up. Thanks for asking about him :)
Brooke- Good to see you haven't left us, I hope you don't leave us too often if you have to, but understand why you have to step away at times. I'm glad that your meds are helping you to feel better too.
Hi to everyone else :)
-
Kate & Vanita, sorry to hear that you haven't slept well. I hope you get to catch up soon.
Brooke, like the others have said post whenever you can and don't feel that you have to keep up with the personals. But, we do want to know how you are going and Maya of course!
-
update, well as usual I tried to have a nap .... nope. The school rang after I had been asleep for about 10 mins, then someone knocked at the door, then it was too late, Dion on the other hand has been asleep since 1. ( still snoozing ) Ahhh to be a baby again hehehe.

Hi girls,
so sorry I've been MIA, but I ended up is hospital with a damn migraine! Jeez. I started to get a bad headache on Saturday and then on Sunday it was a migraine, but the drs in our town are hard to see on a weekend (we don't have any drs at the hosptial....they have to be called in and you just get whoever's on). So I left it until Monday and by then I was screaming from pain, although i had panadiene forte and tramal at home to ease it a bit. Anyway, 1 stab of pethadine, 2 stabs of morphine, on a drip, maxaolon, phenergan, zolphren....drugged up, feeling great man!!!!!!
Still got the headache a bit, but feel 1,000,000% on what I did. I have always suffered from migraines, but it another thing to be so sick and have a baby that needs you. Fortunatley mum and MIL looked after him (alhtough mum is a wreck now!!) I also hate having to recount my "story" over and over and over to different drs just because I can't get in to see mine. So frustrating. Don't they look at your chart on the computer??? (our drs are in a clinic and can share patients). It's a real sh*t when after lengthly consultation and trial and error with one doctor, and come up with a treatment plan (mine is to use the drugs for as long as possible at home and then when I can't get on top or start vomiting - which I was...constantly - then to go in for pethadine or morphone. But then you get another dr that "doesn't approve of opiates" and you get left a bit int he lurch. Grrrr. I completely understand the whole aversion to hard drugs, but when they are part of a treatment plan that has already been agreed on (and let's face it, I'm not on them every week or anything), it just seems like a waste of time. Especially when your brain is leaking out your ears!!!!!!
Vent over! LOL
So that's where I've been. Still in the TWW. Dunno what's going on.
-
God she is a sweetie Brooke. Wanna swap? ;-) Wish I had a nice story to tell about Al.
He has been teething again today so I am over him...sleeping now allelujah. Oh yeah, he says 'peeboo' meaning peekaboo, thats pretty cute.
Sorry to hear about the painful migraines Hayseed. You'd probably have more luck scoring a hit up the street by the sounds of it (joke). Maybe through some freedom of information thing you can get access to your medical records, take copies, and show the doctors whenever this happens. It just sounds so absurd that you have to go through what you do when you are already in pain.
Hope you've recovered from your long day/night Vanita.
Well, off tomorrow. I checked the little computer we bought Al, put batteries in and read the instructions, so we would be all organised for the big surprise on the plane. And low and behold, there is no volume control on it. Bloody thing is loud!!! So no way we will be able to use it on the plane, it is so irritating. grrrrr!!! Hope he likes his colouring pencils lol.
-
Awwwwwwwww Hay you poor thing :( Sounds awful what you go through, so glad that you are feeling better now.
Brooke- Awwwwwww how sweet. It's amazing how much they understand even though they themselves can't talk very much.
Deb- Bugger about the computer, hopefully the pencils will be enough entertainment. Hope you have a good trip.
Well we had a mishap in the bath last night. No matter how many times I tell him off Jonah still stands up in the bath. Well last night I dashed out to grap a towel as I had forgotten in, on my way back and I hear a thud followed by crying and screaming. I run in to find that he had slipped over, must have hit his face on the edge, the roof of his mouth was bleeding and one of his front teeth is chipped. He's been quite naughty lately, as well as that he's been pulling the gate to the laundry down ad getting in and throwing kitty litter or cat food into the cat's water, grrrrrrrrrr. Hope everyone else is behaving.
