Hi everyone
Well the sleeping through stage (two nights in a row) must have just been a fluke as Dylan did not do it again last night, he woke at 3 and had to be patted back to sleep and then again at 6 where a dummy was all he wanted and then we got up just past 7. He has started refusing to go down for day sleeps which is very frustrating and I am dragging them out til the last moment but I am finding that he is struggling with me and screaming so both this morning and yesterday arvo I have rocked him (again!) to settle him down and then popped him in awake and patted him to sleep very annoying!
Roya Playgroup has more structure than mothers group and it has a set place to meet each week, the one I have chosen meets in a church hall. There are babies ranging from 3 months to 4 years and they have a story/song time and also craft time (for older kids). They have more toys and equipment and they do a morning tea for the kids and adults. My mothers group meets at a different place each week, we don't have activities, all the babies are the same age and there is no structure, although we do meet the same time each week. The two main reasons for me to join are that my Mothers Group is now down to 5 members due to people going back to work, one of the 5 left hardly ever comes and I want to meet more mums. Also I don't like offering my place for the meet ups because it is tiny and old/grotty (rented flat) and I feel that I must do a huge spring clean before they come everytime as my pace embarasses me and who could be bothered, and we are sort of obliged to offer our place once in a while for the meet ups. I have asked my mothers group to join with me and I hope they do because I really like them all and it is great watching the babies grow and develop and we are a great support network for each other for everything from meal ideas to sleeping to next babies and 'the gap'. Anyway hope that helps with your thoughts on playgroup. Oh and they don't mind if you go along and just check out a session that is what I did.
Anyway off to do some cooking.

Hello where are you all.
My girls have been unwell, and Charlotte wont go to sleep at night. it took 3 hours last night to get her to sleep, she was awake from 4 till 10:30 last night, and tonight she wont sleep, so I am trying CC.
News: Charlotte stood up all by herself today, I don't know how she got up because it was in her cot, but she was proud of herself.
Not much else happening. Trying to find Charlotte something for her birthday, but I just don't know.
-
kmh - sorry to hear your girls have not been doing well. This whole winter has been spent with someone in our family sick nearly every week. I am very tired of it!
Sorry all for being AWOL. I am trying to wrap up all my classes so I can officialy graduate. This is my last week, then next week is finals week. Anyhow, I have been trying to get things done and in order for the past two or three weeks now. So....I will try to post later after all the dust settles. I do log in and check messages from time to time.
-
Mads- Charlotte has been off her food a tad, still eating 3 meals up only a few mouthfuls, but she can not really afford to be doing this, I hope she does not loose weight this month.
Charlotte has been a sleepy baby today, nearly 3 hours this morning, and then only after being up for about 1 hr and 45 mins she was back in bed, and she has been in bed for nearly an 1 1/2 hours now, she must be catching up on some sleep.
Charlotte has been a booby mosnter lately, she will crawl up to me and try and find my (.)(.), its funny. She is learning how to stand up, she can say ta, mum, dad, nana. She is also waving, clapping gives Hi-5 and gives cuddles to teddies, etc.
-
Hi all, it is quiet in here lately!!
Mads - I took my first DD to Gymbaroo when she was about 9 months old and she took a little while to get into it. After a while she absolutely loved it and there was no stopping her on the equipment....so good for their gross motor skills. Its great too if you can continue through with the same bunch of people (if they are nice that is).
Sleeping issues still the same...I wonder if we will ever get a full nights sleep again. My first 2 slept through from about 8 weeks (lucky I know). So having Ky has been a huge shock! He is our last though, so sleep is hopefully on the horizon very soon!!
Fee - my 2 girls are 7 and 5. Great ages, cause they are really helpful with Ky. If he is grizzly or whinging, they go and amuse him for a while so I can get stuff done! He loves them to bits and gets so excited when he sees them when we pick them up from school.
Anyway hope everyone else is well. I am off to wake my boy and go and do another school run!! (No wonder the poor child has sleeping problems...he always has to be woken up to be somewhere)
Take care all

Hi all
Cooper stood on his own not holding onto anything for the first time yesterday! For the past few days I have been holding him in a standing position and then letting go and he usually falls straight to the ground. A few days ago he was standing for about 5 seconds but you could tell it was a fluke. But yesterday he stood for around 15 seconds and you could tell it was for real. You could see him start to lose balance but then regain it. He looked so impressed with himself and even flapped his arms around without falling over! His little toes were gripping onto the carpet! Here's a pic.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2/Fee78/DSCN7082.jpg
He still walks around everywhere pushing his walker or boxes etc. So now he just has to put that action into place with standing alone!
As for sleeping. Well I think he went back to sleeping until 5.00 am for about 4 nights? But then for the last few nights he has been waking up at 4.30 am. I've tried resettling him but it doesn't work. By 5.00 am I give in and feed him but the past 2 or 3 mornings he won't go back to sleep after the feed! It has been driving Mark and I CRAZY. We were so tired. :wall:
Last night I decided that if Cooper woke at 4.30 am again I would feed him straight away instead of trying to resettle him as I think he has just been working himself up and becoming more and more awake.
But… this morning he was good. He woke at 4.45 am and cried but then fell asleep again (I think). He was only quiet for 10 minutes. I got up to him quickly and fed him in the dark. Usually I switch on his lamp. I then put him into his cot and he didn't make a sound – I guess he was half asleep. He then slept until nearly 8.00 am!!! Plus when he woke he was babbling away and playing with his Ocean Wonders Aquarium for a while. Amazing. That is very rare. He normally wakes and cries loudly immediately.
So today he only had one nap and unfortunately it was short – 45 minutes. He still screams at his naps and I have been rocking him or patting him to sleep. He has been very cuddly and wanting to be held. But just now at bed time he fell asleep on his own. First time in about 2 weeks I think! Yay!
I think a tooth is about to pop through soon too. I can see a lump and whiteness on his bottom gum. His fingers are always in his mouth lately. About time as he hasn't had teeth since he was 6 months old!
He's also eating better and eating from the spoon again which is good.
It's been so warm here. Today was 31 degrees!!! Crazy.
Cassie – How's Dylan going with sleeping through?
Carly – How's the pregnancy exhaustion going?
Kelly – Yay for Charlotte standing up in her cot. Looks so cute doesn't it? How's the CC going with Charlotte?
Roya – Is Sarina still eating well? I posted a heap of recipes a few pages back and there should be some good meat ones there.
Rob – All the best for finals week!
Mads – How often will you take Freya to Gymbaroo?
Hayley – Your girls sound like they would be very helpful with Ky. That must be great.
Kylie - Great to hear Bailee is up and cruising around the furniture!
-
Fee- I love the photo soooo cute, wow he is getting big. I am not using the CC at the moment, as I have been feeding Charlotte to sleep. Lately i have been sitting on the floor of her bedroom give a quick feed and pop her into her cot and she will go straight to sleep, this happens overnight as well.
Charlotte has not been doing this much this week, we all have been unwell, and only just getting over it now ( its taken a week for Charlotte to get over the cold).
Madison is staying at her cousins house tonight and Tim is at the Football
( in a coperate box) so its just me and Charlotte, so i think I will head to the local market tomorrow morning, before we pick up Madison.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.:D

Hi all
Dylan is now pulling himself up on everything and cruising the furniture. He is talking heaps saying mostly dadadadad dad dada daddy, also barbra (his grandmas name), bub bub bub, mum mama mamamamam and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam, and various other sounds that we think sound like words like huwo, yeah, etc. He has learnt to wave which is very cute and I have been trying to teach him to clap hands but no interest in that one. He has moments of food fussiness which is very annoying, last night I tried to give him home made baby bolognaise which he usually loves but he rejected that so I tried home made root vegie soup nup, so he had toast and yoghurt for dinner hmmmmm! No teeth yet but I am not worried as all the books say they can come anywhere between four and 12 months so he has a couple of months to go before I get worried.
Fee Well the sleeping through thing had gone away until last night he slept through which was a fluke because he hardly had a dinner and then only drank 50ml of the normal 250ml I give him of a night. The photo of Cooper is so cute I can't believe he will be walking soon what a champion.
Kel Hope you and Charlotte had a lovely night. Sounds like Charlotte is doing well on the sleeping front.
Anyway must go and make the most of Dylan's nap.

Hi all!
Hope you are all doing well :) I have been soooo slack with posting..i just dont have the energy.. this little bubba is really draining me..i hardly have the energy to do anything except sit on the couch and vege!
Georgia has decided that two sleeps a day is not required :( which is a real pain cos i ususally get showered and ready for my day during her morning sleep, which has now been obliterated :( ...so it she was going down everyday straight after bottle and breakfast at 8:30am...sleeping for an hour or so...then down again at 2pm for about 1and a half hours...but now shes only wanting one sleep a day for about 2 and a half hours going down at 10:30am ish......anyone else had this happen?? Maybe my baby is growing up!! :)
Fee - HOW CUTE IS COOPER!!!!! What a smart little cookie standing up on his own !! Georgia is nearly doing that... she stood for about 2 seconds today :) it was just lucky though..she didnt even realise she had done it!!
everyone else - more personals soon I promise..!! Until then keep well, and kisses to all those beautiful bubbies!!

Carls- you poor thing with Gerogia only wanting one sleep hopefully she will go back to having 2 sleeps soon. I think Madison dropped down to 1 sleep around 15 months or so. Charlotte has 2 good sleeps around 2 hours for each of them sometimes longer.
-
Hey ladies - sorry I have been so so so so slack
am gearing up for a return to work and it is FREAKING me out!
We had a scare on Friday = Charlie is allergic to peanuts - and we now have to carry an epipen with us everywhere.
I will be back to do personals I just wanted to say Hi and see how everyone is doing.
Hey if anyone else has had a food allergy scare and either has or needs to get an epipen e-mail me at emandbabe@yahoo.com.au
happy to chat about it - don't want to bore everyone with the details - still a bit frazzled about the whole ordeal.
Speak soon - Em ;)

Hi everyone. Not too much to report. Cooper has been sleeping to about 5.00 am, having a feed and going back to sleep... thank goodness! I was not enjoying the refusal to go back to bed after a 4.30 or 5.00 am feed. But he has been sleeping until nearly 8.00 am. So late! Anyway I wrote more about that below in response to Carly's comments about Georgia only having 1 nap.
Kelly – Hope you had a nice night last night, just you and Charlotte.
You're lucky with Charlotte having naps of 2 hours each. Cooper is having such short naps at the moment – about 45 minutes. But he is capable of 2 hour naps but he goes for weeks having short naps and then changes and has weeks of long naps!
Cassie – Oh I totally agree about how annoying food fussiness is. Aaghh it drives me mental! So cute about Dylan waving. Cooper waved a few times ages ago but has forgotten how to do it. He can clap, but I wish he would wave again. I think it looks so cute. Sounds like Dylan is learning a lot of new things lately.
Carly – Cooper has only had 1 nap yesterday and today. Only because for some reason he is sleeping until 8.00 am! He is still waking for a feed at 5.00 am though but then going back to bed for such a long time. Weird. So he's having just one nap after lunch. I think when babies go to one nap it's usually in the early afternoon. So I'm not sure what Georgia is up to?!
Emily – OMG how scary about Charlie and the peanut allergy. How did you find out he was allergic?
Mads – Cooper was early getting teeth (2 at 5 months and 2 at 6 months) but now so many babies have more teeth than him!!! Just like Freya! Yay for her third one. I think Cooper is about to get another on the bottom. His gum looks white.
-
Em- you poor thing. How is Charli, please let us know what happened, its not going to bore us, If you want I can email you if you don't wamt to discuss it with everyone.
Charlotte was unsettled last night, I think having a late night. Anyway didn't get to the market as Mum called me and wanted to take Madison for the day, so I went and got her early and mum picked her up at lunch time and brought her back for dinner, so It was just me and Charlotte all day as Tim was working. Just went to Target and Charlotte had her big sleeps. She is such a good sleeper now that she is over her cold..
I have started to put her into some size 0 tops, but they are a tad too big, pants she is still fine for 00. What size clothes are all your baba's in?
-
Mads- don't worry about it, I got asked by a doctor the other day if Charlotte was 4 months old. Freya would be bigger then Charlotte too. Last time Charlotte got weighed she was 7.090 kgs and was 67 cms. With regarding waists on pants Charlotte has some jeans that 00, but are too big in the waist. I brought some 0 jeans for her the other day and she has to grow about 10cms before the they will fit her.
I am having troubles with solids again, she wont take any expect yoghurt which she has for lunch. I rang my MCHN and she was going to look into the childrens hospital as they have a clinic or something like that for food refusal. I try and not let it get to me, but I am back to feeding her about 2 hourly during the day and 3 hourly over night. I just don't know what to do.
-
Mads- Thank you, I got Charlotte weighed and she gained 40 grams in 3 weeks, so my MCHN rang a clinic at the Royal Childrens Hospital, and we are going to that tuesday week, hopefully they can give us some ideas on how to get her to eat. It's just really hard when Madison loved her food and could not get enough, and gained weight all the time.
-
Hi there,
Sarina only took food for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We went really well - suddenly taking 1 tablespoon each meal, 3 times a day, until Wednesday last week.
Now she has an ear infection and is all congested so completely gone off food and is breastfeeding again about 8 times a day.
Plus she's only going to sleep if I breastfeed her.....so no longer able to self settle. And is waking again at least twice to feed during the night.
Argh! I'm exhausted.
-
Oh - and AF has just returned today for the first time since September 2005! Guess I must be ready to go again for baby number 2? LOL!!
