Hello all!
A quick update on Cooper and then I'll read everyone's news later. Although I did see that Roya is pregnant! Congrats!
Cooper will be 1 next Tuesday. So exciting! Where has the year gone?! We all have the day off work/daycare and are going to spend the day at the zoo. Then the following weekend we're having a big party at our house.
Cooper has 6 teeth now and I think there may be more on the way. He hasn't shown anymore signs of walking. Everyone told me he'd walk before he was 1 because just before he was 10 months old he started standing alone without holding onto anything. But he sorta got sick of that trick and doesn't do it much anymore! He does cruise furniture and also walk around the house pushing boxes, toys, baskets etc but he's been doing that since he was about 8 months! I'm kinda excited and wanting him to walk on his own soon!
No real words yet. Just lots of babbles and the usual mama, dada, bubba, da, ta etc. He loves pointing at everything and knows where some things are if we ask (eg, "where's the light?" and he will point to the light on the ceiling).
His sleeping is pretty much the same. Most nights sleeps through until about 5.00 am. I BF him and then he goes back to sleep for a while longer. He's self-settling again now for all sleeps due to the discovery of a special pillow! Well it's just an old boomerang pillow but he loves it. He sleeps on a pillow in the play room at daycare so I guess that's where it comes from. We had a pillow on our lounge room floor and he started crawling over to it and lying down. So now I put the pillow in his cot and he goes to sleep without a peep. So much better than me standing there patting him to sleep!
This is my third week back at work and I'm working 3 days per week. Cooper goes to daycare those days. He's settled in pretty well. The carers say he's happy, eats well, sleeps pretty well and often just is happy to play on his own! I've been expressing the lunch time feed but he doesn't drink much of the EBM at daycare. Maybe 100mls from a straw up. We try and give him the other 100mls when we get home. Anyway going back to work was not as bad as I imagined. I don't really LOVE it but it wasn't as scary as I thought. And for the past 2 mornings Cooper has not cried when I dropped him off at daycare! Yay!
Next week I'm going to wean his lunch time feed to cow's milk as I hate expressing. But I was determined to BF until he was 12 months. I plan to keep BFing for the morning and bed time feeds indefinitely.
Love to all!
Hiya everyone!!
The best advice on a 1 year old's birthday - don't have a big party!! On Saturday had 40 adults, 5 kids under 10 and 3 babies under 1 - it was a mad house. Luckily we had a fine day so most of it was outside. We had my fab (if I do say so myself!) roasts in the BBQ, salad and rolls lunch. I also make her first birthday cake which I was very proud of - Minnie Mouse! I cooked the cake and piped it with icing. All up it took me about 2.5 hours to do but I enjoyed it and everyone commented on it how good it tasted and looked. I was very proud. I would definately do it all over again. I had so much fun doing it. Enough about the cake - she was so spoilt - we are still trying to get all her presents out of the packagings!
As for her developments - she's started taking a bit of cow's milk in her cereal, dropped down to 3 formula feeds per day (breakfast, afternoon tea and bedtime), she's starting to sleep only once a day but for 3-4 hours, some days it's 2 sleeps, she's walking heaps more now and can walk a couple of metres easily, she has her 7th tooth just come through, she says mum-mum, dad-dad, Nun-Nun (Nunzio the dog - as soon as she sees him she's screaming Nun-Nun), she can point out her nose, mouth and ears if you ask her (if you ask where her mouth is she'll show you, etc - apparently very advanced for her age), her hair is finally growning - very light blonde, she also waves and says 'hi' but it's more 'hhhhhiiiiii'. I think that's about it.
As for me I'm OK. My Oma isn't very well and only has a few days to live so I'm trying to spend as much time in the hospital with her as I can. I'm also quitting my job as my boss is a cow and I don't really need her stressing me out (I don't want a depression relaps at all) so I'll find some more work somewhere but only 3 days per week and not 4 like now but I'm not in any hurry.
I better run - I can hear Danielle getting violent with her toys. She's at work with me today. See ya!!
Hi all...it is nice to see some activity in here again!!
Looking forward to the first birthday here. Ours is on the 27th so still a little bit to go. My girls are more excited than me I think. I really don't know where that time has gone...
Ky is just getting more adorable each day now, and he finally is babbling away. We have a few sounds we can make out dadad (dad), nana (alannah), baba (which we think is Phoebe), bata (buster, our dog) and finally today mumumumum (mum!!yay).
Still not interested at all in being on his feet. Still getting around on his bum, but he sure is fast. I think he will skip the proper crawling all together. We do have wooden floors and people have told me he doesn't go on his knees, cause the floor is too hard??!! Makes sense I guess. He does go on his knees on the carpet, but doesn't move like that.
As for his party, I can't decide what to do. We do have a small family, but a lot of close friends around, but I am thinking if you invite one friend you have to invite them all. That means we will end up with about 20 adults and 25 kids.....way too many for me, so I haven't decided what to do yet. I am going to make a gorgeous dump truck cake that I have seen. I have made all of the cakes for the girls, so to make a 'boy' cake is very exciting!! I am used to pink butterflies etc.
I am glad to hear work is going well for those of you that have returned. My turn is coming I am sure. It's not that I don't want to go back...I just don't want to go back to my old job. I really would like a change. But on the other hand, I don't want to miss out on anything, both with Ky and the girls. It is so social at the girls' school and I don't want to miss out on anything (silly I know). I love being there for all their assemblies, awards, etc
Boy, I am rambling tonight
Taker care all, and happy birthday to all the big bubbas
i just wanted to say

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE MAN BAILEE
:dance:LOVE YOU LITTLE MAN YOU HAVE BROUGHT SO MUCH JOY INTO MY LIFE JUST THE WAY YOUR SISTER HAS LOVE YA
well in just a couple more weeks all of our little ones will be a year old! So Corban is now walking probably 50 - 75% of the time. He has a little vocabulary going on and a tempers till that I associate with his reddish colored hair! But the little bugger is so adorable!
Mads – Do you mean I could give cow's milk at daycare for lunch but keep breastfeeding the lunch feeds on the days I'm home? Would that work? Would my boobs get confused?!
Bubseykel – Too late about the party. We've already got 45 adults and 10 kids coming to Cooper's party this Sunday!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Oma.
mumof2beauties – Sounds like everything is great with you. Good to hear! All the best with the dump truck cake!
baiza – Happy birthday Bailee!
Dustmite – How cute that Corban is walking around the place. It must be so much fun!
A big Happy Birthday to Cooper!!!! I hope you have a really nice day Fee!
The cakes really aren't that hard...and you are talking to the worst, most unadventurous cook there is...and I can still manage to follow the directions from the book. It is actually a lot of fun. As for being healthy, it is far from it...but hey, it is their birthday. Ky had his first 'real' piece of birthday cake a couple of weeks ago for my husbands birthday, and we couldn't wipe the smile off his face!! He loved it!!
Mads - what date is Freya's bday?...she must be close to Ky.
I am hoping Ky starts to sleep through for his birthday...yeah right. Maybe one day??!!?

YA COOPER! another 1 year old!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY COOPER
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY DYLAN
We are still around, I have been lurking a bit and reading occasionally but wanted to come on to mark this momentous occasion. I can't believe my boy is one!
I am back at work three days a week and it seems that my days off are always so busy. Dylan is good at the moment he has been sick on and off for the last 2 months I guess from daycare which in turn has been making DH and I sick but I guess you get that.
Anyway I have to go and tend to my sad birthday boy and help him open some pressies.
I will pop back in later today.
:dance:Happy 1st Birthday Dylan:dance:
Happy Birthday Cooper and Dylan - hope you both have a wonderful day!!!!:)

Happy Birthday to all the bubs that have turned one!!
Just a quick one from me - Oma passed away on Saturday morning. Luckily I was there with Mum and Aunty Yvonne. Her 4 girls by her side - Mum, Aunty Yvonne, me and Danielle. She passed away peacefully so that's the main thing. I'm OK - just taking things slowly. Her funeral is on Thursday.
I also quit my job on Friday so this Friday is my last day so that's a weight off my shoulders too. Not much else to report. Just Danielle walking more and more and getting very confident.
I'll chat up with you all soon.
Kelly - are you planning on being a sahm now or was this just a temp move until a good part time position rolls around?
And a HAPPY B-DAY to Dylan!
Rob - not 100% sure yet. I know after a while I'll get bored again at home but now Danielle is moving around and playing it might not be the case like when they are 6 months old and do pretty much nothing. At the moment I just don't feel like working so maybe a little of each. I've got my husband's business that I have ben neglecting so I might just stick with doing his bookwork for now.
well cool, hope it works out. Not sure how "crafty" you are, but you might have alot of fun as Danielle is more and more interactive doing fun things together and making things for daddy, etc. I know heidi did that type of stuff with our first born but time seemed to steal that away with the other children. I used to get real cool things that my baby girl made me :)
Hi all. Happy birthday to Dylan and happy birthday for tomorrow to Charlie and Charlotte.
Does anyone know what happened to AJ? I can't remember. Was just looking over the old July group mobile list. Ethan turned one on the 15th.
Also what happened to Cyn (Boisey)?
Anyway Cooper had a great birthday. There are photos and vids on the links in my sig below plus an update on his Totsite if anyone wants to have a look.
Cooper's birthday party is this Sunday. I can't wait!
Hi All,
Had a busy week with all the grandparents here.
Also had last booby feed with Ben last week - was a bit sad. Upside is if and when I fall pg I will have a little more energy.
Not sure where I am there: had some spotting yesterday and today and my period isnt due for another week... have had sore boobs but think that's more to do with weaning...also had a sharp pain on lower rhs two nights ago (before spotting). I'm trying not to read anything into it... so hard not to think it might be......
Happy Birthday to all those Beautiful Babies.
Ben's is next week. Sorry to say I'm not jumping on the birthday Party express...I'm going to wait 'til next year when he can enjoy it... not to say I wont have a glass of something nice to congratulate mtself on a job well done!;)
ah we gave Corban a mini cake to destroy. He really didn't eat much of it, just mashed it up and smeared it around, etc. good photo opportunities which is really all it is about at that age!
Hi everyone,
Quick posting from the other side of the planet - Sarina & I are visiting my parents in the UK currently with DH at home in Melbourne. She's missing him heaps but we webcam everynight and they play and talk to each other. Still not walking, but climbing stairs and cruising a lot. Loving the attention from my family!
Luckily no morning sickness to speak of and i'm able to sleep in every day as mum is playing with Sarina from 6am so i can rest. I'm quite aenemic so it's great to be able to rest. Wish i could bring her home with me! I've now told all my friends and family and mum's about to book a ticket out for March next year to look after me when bubba #2 appears. It all seems so surreal still!
Hello everyone. I was hoping to join you all. My son Lachlan was born on July 6 2006. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. He started walking at 11 months and cut his first tooth a day before his birthday. Would be great to get to know other July mums.
Welcome lachsmom! My son was born the day after yours but he was the opposite in that he has been cutting teeth for a while before his bday and really didn't start his walking much until his bday.
Glad you joined!
Hello everyone,
May I start with I'M SOOOOO TIRED I DESPARATELY NEED SLEEP!!!!!:(
Kyana is turning one on Friday and I just feel like we've gone full circle back to waking throughout the night, I know it's not her fault she is cutting about five teeth at once and she has sore ears and all the yucky ususal things that can come with the teething process that all the GP's love to say is totally unrelated my poor baby is so sad atm and I don't blame her cause so am I. DH tells me everyday that he'll get up to her but every time he does it's no help to me cause all he does is complain about it and say her cry is ear piecing so I'd just rather do it myself than feel like he is not giving her the comfort she clearly needs.
I have been giving her Nurafen before sleep to help abit with the inflammation and then sometime follow up panadol through the night but nothing works she's just miserable. Her ear had wax coming out of it yesterday and my mum and DH were both like "oh yeah that's ok cause she has a sore ear and like I'm over reacting with it cause I want to take her to the dr's to check it out...anyway's now I'm rambling.
I should be feeling happy cause her birthday is this week but I need sleep and I've no doubt she does too. Cause I am having a little party for her at my place on Sunday just family but we have a big family so it's still gonna be a busy one so i hope she's feeling better by then.
All I seem to do on BB is complain so sorry about that all and hope your little people are doing well.:)
xxdd
dd - poor little girl. I know how you (and dh) feels. And I assure you, my tired wife can Really relate to you right now! lol. My boy gets dosages of infant motrin and teething tablets. Sometimes it helps a bit.
Not sure whats going on, but he was an absolute bear until his nap today (this was a continuation of yesterday) and is already getting cranky again.
I couldn't leave it after Monday I took Kyana to another GP only to be told she has a ruptured ear drum and an infection in the other ear! I just knew there was something else going on she is on medication including ear drops and she has slept two nights in a row!!!!! But I still haven't slept cause now I'm sick with a cold....it nevers stops even when it does...lol!! That's ok though I can handle that and so can DH we're all alot happier now.
Thanks for listening and your thoughts Rob. What are infant Motrin and I didn't even know there was such a thing as teething tablets??
Hello Lachsmum, the year did just disappear my Kyana is turning one tomorrow and I just can't believe it she's walking/running and playing with her sister and really just fully interacting with the whole family it's wonderful but moving soooo quickly.
dd
infant motrin is something like ibprofrin for infants, and we can buy both products in stores like walmart, probably target, etc.
Ya, Happy Birthday Freya!!
Hi all...well all the 1st birthdays will just about be over now...how exciting now they are all 1!! Now come the years of toddler tantrums etc. That is always fun!
Ky's birthday was really nice. He had a ball and got lots of nice pressies which he is having so much fun playing with...but so are my girls, which is kind of cute because we are so used to Barbies and Bratz and dollies/teddies etc iin this house, so Tonka trucks and train sets have been a real treat!! My sister got Ky this gorgeous ball blower thingy (made by playskool, I think) that he just loves. He spends ages in front of it watching the balls pop out and then chases them around the floor giggling and racing to put them back in. What a great toy!!
Hope everyone elses birthdays were great too.
Ky did his best nights sleep ever last night, but I am not getting too excited or getting my hopes up. He went to sleep at 7, woke at 11 for a quick feed and then slept through till 5.30am, quick feed and then slept till 7am...that is just fantastic for him. I did leep out of bed at 5am after I hadn't heard from him since 11pm, thinking the worst (as you do), but of course he was fine. I was so proud...even though he should have been sleeping through a loooonnng time ago
Anyway, gotta do the school run, so will catch you all later.
Hi all
A quick update.
Cooper's been pretty good sleeping lately. Having long 2 hour naps which is great. Although his naps are daycare are pretty short. Also he's sleeping until 6.00 am a lot now instead of 5.00 am. So much better!
He's standing alone a lot more today too. And waving his arms around while he does it. He gets so excited. Then he bends at the knees and sort of leaps - like he's trying to jump! OMG he's going to be trouble I think. He loves flinging his head back at the moment. Not just during tanties but even while playing. Or he stands in an arch - feet on the floor and head on the floor with bum up in the air!
Last night it sounded like he said "duck". Very cute!
I'm still BFing. Just morning and night now. He has cow's milk at lunch but doesn't drink much (straw cup). He's eating okay at the moment but I don't expect it to last long. Most of the time he loves throwing food on the floor!
we are trying to incorporate some cows milk into corbans diet as well. I guess he will drink some whole milk but hates 2% ...lol.
hey girls
how are we all
bailee still wont walk around he rather crawle he can walk when he want to but he crawl more then walks
anyways thats all from me why dont you check out my link if you love kids cloths
Im away from my children and my wife right now so I only get to see little video clips of all of them. Is it messed up that I am afraid my little man will forget his daddy? So far he has not, but we still have another couple weeks or so before we will be together again!
Hi guys,
It's gone quiet on here recently, eh? I've been busy trying to cope with active toddler whilst dealing with morning sickness...not fun! I'm coming to the end of the first trimester though so hoping it's starting to end.
Sarina is still not walking (has been cruising for 3 months) but i'm in no hurry really. She's up on 2 legs most of the day holding on to things. She now loves food too which is amazing given it took her 5 MONTHS to learn to eat!!
Hope all your families are well.
Roya - hope that morning sickness leaves you soon! Corban is into walking now, all over the place and has become Mr. Independent now. Does not need any help and if you hold your hand out for him he will smack/push it away because "he is a big boy now!" LOL
I can not wait for next Sunday as I will finally get to see my 3 wonderfully baby's and my gorgeous wife after a miserable 3 weeks of being away! Heidi REALLY wants to be PG again but so far no luck. Then again, the timing of our reunion this Sunday "could" change that..LOL, then she will have to deal with the morning sickness again.
Corban has started trying to say words like brink or bink (do not remember which) which is drink and can say something that sounds a bit like Juice. He and I still have our own special language which is a popping sound with our mouth. Sometimes when he is looking for me he will walk around making that noise. I can't wait to make that noise with him again!
Mads - we (especially DW) wishes Corban would sleep as good as Freya!
As to why we are apart from each other right now, it is because I accepted a job about 250+ miles away and moved down 3 weeks sooner then they will be coming down to start work. We will be staying with my parents (this will be a somewhat rough time, especially for Heidi) until I can stash enough cash to find a place for us. Cost of living (houses) are extremely high where we will be moving.
Although you probably wish she would walk without holding your hand, I can say that I wish my little man "would" hold my hand. Sometimes I just miss that connection, taking that walk with my little boy holding hands. He has no use for that "confining" and "repressive" non-since, he is a big boy now!
yay for Freya - won't be long
Corban is a champ
guess we are all so bvbusy chasing our little walking/crawling and climbing monkeys around and moving everything to higher places and out of reach LOL.
Joel is walking about 50/50 and Sam barely walks when you hold his hand - he just melts to the floor. Both spend a lot of tiem upright. He can climb though .Both can get in/out of the little tikes cars one with a door and the one without,on/off the baby bikes and stand in the highchairs ... oh the joys of toddlerdome.
Sam likes to close the doors and sits behind crying - you can hardly get in because then because he is right in the way.
Both have been sick the last week and very 'intense' ... at the same time. Oh well I wouldn't have it any other way.
