I said before i got pregnant with DS1 that I would get my long curly hair cut short but it is still exactly the same!! I would love to have short hair but as it is curly I worry that it would be a major case of curly curly frizz hair if it was short. Not too much you can do with my hair - well thats my excuse!!
Mel - I wanted more than one but my mum is here so I didnt want her to think I was hitting the bottle he he he!!! Tomorrow night maybe!
-
Thanks for the laugh Jem, you crack me up :) It's exactly what I think when I have someone here, oh how true!!! Ah still laughing...........
Sacha, the ones I keep out are
Beans
Peas
Chilli
Garlic
Spicy Foods
Cut back on dairy cause of Jack's reflux
Cabbage
Onion
And if I notice his poos are getting runnier I cut out fruit for awhile. But no reason to do so, I just do it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Did she get tested for Lactose Intolerance.
-
Well, I’m so far behind! I’m not going to even come close to doing personals for everyone in one go, so I’m just going to go with the flow a bit.
Sacha – I do sometimes feel like a bit of a failure because he doesn’t sleep through
so it’s really nice to hear that someone else has a baby that doesn’t sleep through. And whilst I’m mostly with you because I enjoy those moments overnight when it’s just the 2 of us, sometimes I wish that I could have more than 4 hours sleep in a row. Liam also drinks like he’s never been fed before in his life, so I kind of think that he’s still waking for a reason.
Flossie – welcome back, it’s good to hear from you. Re the swimming lessons, I’m not planning to start these just yet, cos I’ve heard mixed views on them. I think my thing will be something like Mini Maestros for him at 6 months, cos this doesn’t require me getting into bathers iykwim!! My mum & Dad have a pool, so on the hot days I’ll probably just paddle him around in that for some fun.
Dani – you sound like you managed Oscar’s injections really well. It’s weird, I was fine with the 1st lot of needles but I’m really not looking forward to the 4 month ones. Think that this is because I took him to the Paed for the 8 week ones, & I loved the paed so I knew it would be all good, but it’s off to the council for the next lot, and I don’t know them, so worried that I might get a dragon nurse who’s really rough with him…I hope you enjoy the wedding this week, I think you’re very brave leaving him for a night, not sure that I could do it, even with my Mum..
Nicky – new signon! Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear that your MIL’s cancer is back, that’s terrible news, have my fingers & toes crossed for her appointment tomorrow. Well done on the BF, it’s great that it’s getting easier for you, and obviously working for Lachlan, cos he’s growing really well from the sounds of it. He’s .5 cm longer than Liam was at 4 weeks, and only a little bit lighter (my munchkin was 6.8kgs)
V – yum for the caramel mud cake. I’m currently addicted to mince pies from Bakers Delight, which is really bad, cos they don’t help my waistline one little bit, and they’re expensive, well, they’re expensive when you can eat as many as I can, although I am trying to exert some self control by only buying them once a week.
Mel – I think you’re doing a super job managing your foot & 2 little ones with your DH being away. I like that you’ve bought yourself a “fighter” fish.
Em – how did the haircut go? LOL at the ponytail everyday – thought I was the only one who was this lazy, I swear that Liam doesn’t recognize me with my hair out..
Megan – you poor thing, it sounds like you’re having a rough day. How short did you get your hair cut? Will it make a difference once you’ve slept on it & washed it yourself, or is it a real disaster that can only be grown out? Isn’t it awful how a bad haircut can make us feel so miserable. It won’t make you feel any better, but once, many years ago, when my mum had a bad hair cut, she picked my brother up from kinder, and on the way home he kept sneaking looks at her, until he said “Mum, your hair looks funny, but I still love you…”
For all those who have photos of their bubs, I’ve been checking you all out, and I have to say that we have a marvelously gorgeous group of kids on here. I look at Liam and I can still see him as he was the day he was born, but he’s turning into such a little boy now. I love all the new things he’s doing, but kind of wish that I could slow the days down a little bit. His latest skill is blowing fart like noises from his mouth, an extension of his dribbly raspberries, he just keeps his lips shut now. Hysterical, and if I’m in another room sometimes confusing, not sure which end it is that I’m hearing….
Anyway, I’ve been on here typing for way too long. I wanted to be in bed by 9 tonight, so I could get a couple of hours sleep before someone wakes up, but that hasn’t happened obviously. thank goodness I'm just bumming around at home tomorrow, might find myself having a nanna nap in the afternoon if I'm lucky.
-
Ah Jem, still laughing to myself.......
-
Hi everyone.
Sorry I haven't caught up for so long and haven't done any personals it's just a very busy time at the moment wit hchristmas coming up and everything! Noah is doing great home u and ur families r all great 2 hugs and kisses!
-
Hi theree all!
Well, now that Lach has started rolling front to back and back to front.. there is no stopping him! He wont stay on his back much anymore... its crazy!!!!
Thanks Janno for your kind words. Yes I felt a new name was required as squishee is out and about now!!
lol
I've been very very dizzy teh last 2 days, and went to the docs today. I have an inner ear infection and because im BFing, can't take anything for it. So I just have to deal with the 'feeling like I'm going to faint' feeling all the time. If it's not gone by next friday, its back for more.
My GP also mentioned that I 'may' need glasses. So, looks ike I will need to go and have this free test and see what they think.
Anyways, we find out the prognosis for MIL tomorrow. She had a bone scan yesterday and was called back today with an all clear... its only in one spot. So that's great news. She now has to have an MRI/Pet scan so fingers crossed it goes well aswell.
Have a good night all:)
Nicky
-
OOh good news so far Nicky *hugs* That's fantastic...we'll all have our fingers crossed for her!
Hi everyone! Reading and trying to keep up but this thread keeps moving so quickly!!! Hope you are all well - Jem and Mel *hugs* for doing so well by yourselves!
We're doing ok - Alessia has been more fussy lately - today not sleeping more than 1 sleep cycle after each feed, so naturally I'm exhausted and should be in bed! Nite all!
-
Hey everyone! Well Lucas has started waking for feeds again the last two nights so back to the beloved BB at this early hour. I can never go back to bed once I’m up, much to the frustration of DF. Hey DF, that’s cool, I almost typed DP! We got engaged last weekend!
He has been away all week though which has been yuck this time around. I enjoyed it last time, found it really relaxing for some strange reason, but this time I’ve just wanted him to come home. He gets home today but only for the weekend, then he has some meeting 5 hours away on Monday so will be away again for the night.
I gave Lucas his first taste of rice cereal on wednesday. I did some research over the last week though as he is really only 3.5months corrected, so I won’t be giving him any more until Saturday to give his gut the chance to make some enzymes needed to digest the food, just to be sure. He has been pooing like a trooper still, which is great, and I might try him on some pumpkin if I can buy an organic over the weekend.
Nicky ~ so sorry to hear about your MIL, cancer is a terrible thing and you have to put all your trust in the doctors and the treatments, which are advancing all the time.
Raels ~ sorry to hear about your own mum passing from cancer, I lost my brother Lucas this year to leukemia, when I was 10 weeks pg. I named my DS after him and he was also born on his Uncle Lucas’ birthday.
Mel ~ I only get emails notices every now and then too so its not just you!
Emma ~ How did your haircut go? Did you go the big chop? I put my tree up last weekend for Lucas as I just knew he would love the lights and coloured trinkets which he does!
Jo ~ My little merry christmas sign on the front door seemed to start a bit of a chain reaction and lights and decorations have popped up everywhere this week, especially across the road. Will you put yours up this weekend?
Well I better get going for now, but will try and get back for some more personals at some stage!
Love August x

If anyone wnats thoughts on Cloth nappies just ask or go to the cloth nappy thread (BEWARE THEY ARE ADDICTIVE!)
I have used cloth nappies for all 3 of my kids & still find myself purchasing more, even though you can just keep using the same ones & then sell them when your done!!!
Zy has been waking again once at night for atleast 2/3wks now!!!
I spent yesterday with a friend whose just had her 3rd Daughter & having breastfeeding probs (she formula fed 1st 2 but wnats to breastfeed this one) the baby is only 6 days old & OMG so tiny compared to Zyon! I was like OMG I dont know how to hold her she's so small, yet she was bigger born than Zyon was!! LOL how quickly we forget hey!
Nicky I hope the news continues tro be good about your MIL &
Congrat's to the newly engaged August!!!!
I have not removed anything from my diet (I did stop all dairy when Zyon was suffering with Silent Reflux) but he's a normal bubba now, yet still green poo's but I have been assured it's just all normal & to not worry! Breastfed poo's can be a myriad of varieties! So I just accept that he has a different pooing style!?
Work has offered me a new role in charge of a section & I have said i will not work days so they are planningt o work around my wnats, but I also said it has to be WORTH MY WHILE, so next week they will give me the offer! Whatever they offer I;m going to ask for $10k more & see how we go! LOL If you dont ask you dont get hey!
****** I just added a pic of Zyon in a cute Beanie into my gallery!!!

Hi girls,
wow only 25 days til christmas!!!
Sacha - Do you think she could be teething? Also, has she had her 4 month needles? If so, did this start after that?
The only thing I've noticed that gave Oliver the runs was Indian food so I've avoided that. Other than that I have only cut out caffeine and alcohol. I know that a cup of coffee or a glass of wine a day can't hurt but I just like to avoid them cause they are dehydrating and I don't want to mess with my milk supply. But! I am going to have a drink or two over christmas, which brings me to this question - how long do you have to wait before bfing after having a drink??? I think I read somewhere once that you had to wait 3 hours per standard drink.....is that right?
Nicky - great news! And I love your new username!!
August - thanks....and sorry about your brother. What a beautiful honour for your little man to be named after his uncle and wow - I have goosebumps after reading he was born on his birthday. Oh and congratulations on the engagement!!!!
Tracey - I have been on ebay this morning bidding on cloth nappies!!!! LOL. A neighbour recently gave birth to a boy and I was just like you, can't imagine Ollie being that small. Zyon is so gorgeous!!!!
We are putting our christmas tree up tomorrow - we always get a real one - makes heaps of mess but they are so beautiful. I bought the boys a stocking each, they are just plain so Lexxen and I are going to decorate his and Olivers over the weekend.
Oliver has been a bit fussy with his feeding the last few days but AF has returned so I'm thinking it's just that. This is the second time and like last time I feel like my supply has dropped a little but I am taking your advice Tracey and offerring every 2 hours.
Well I'm off to do some boring housework.
Have a great weekend girls!!!
-
Hi there girls.
Congrats on your engagement AMM!!!
Not much happening here, MIL's appointment is right now, so fingers crossed.
I'm still very dizzy. Its very hard to focus. Stupid ear infection. lol
Does anyone elses bubs LOVE sleeping on their bellies? Lach will sleep for hours on his. Now that he can roll onto and off it, he does it all the time.
I dont let him sleep on his belly at night. I'm too chicken. But during the day when I can keep an eye on him. He's been on his belly for an hour now and hasn't stirred.
I have the rice cereal on standby in the cupboard. Have had it for a few weeks. We are going to try and sort out his constipation issues before attempting solids tho.
He has been 3 days now with no formula. His poos are back to normal too, nice and sloppy. lol
It looks like all the trouble we had with BFing is now subsiding I will def keep trying to feed him for as long as humanly possible. I now have a ray of hope that we can make it to the 12 month mark as I had initially wanted. sweet.
Anyway, hope everyone is well. Thanks for the well wishes in regards to MIL.
Have a good day:)
xxoo
p.s did everyone notice my little munchkin in my ticker now;) hehe
-
Oh well, your busy for a day or 2 and it turns into 3 pages worth to catch up on, Xavier will probably wake up before I'm finished reading it all.
Relle, nice to hear your still around, you must be busy though with all you ave planed
Floss you sound really busy too. you can tell you have been busy, your avatar is still preggo. Or are you reminiscing? What a cute little lady, oh but they won't be little for much longer.
Jem, I had seen those things too, I was waiting until he was eating, but thought it would be a great teething thing especially if putting frozen fruit in it, I wonder if my sis would like one for my niece although she is 1 now so it might not get much use. Be a good way to cool down for her.
Dani, leaving them the first time is hard, but you and he will be ok, admittedly I am yet to actually spend a whole night away from xavier, I've only done days. Happy 4 months to Oscar.
Sasha At the moment I don't mind too much if Xavier wakes up at night, although I am very fond of my sleep, Once I'm back at work however it might be a different story if I have to get up because i won't be able to have a nap when he goes down in the morning.
Xaviers poo is always quite liquid always has been. I just figured that was his normal poo, he sleeps fine, he doesn't scream at me so I figure he's fine.
Nicki, happy 4 months to lach and yay on the feeding. Clearly he was needing heaps and heaps of food over the last few weeks to reach all those milestones, the rolling, feet eating lol and the growth sounds right on target from the chart I got given. You be careful while your dizzy, sit down lots, your so far away from everything it would be horrible if you fell and hurt yourself.
Megan, fingers crossed for some pool time. Xavier is jut like that, senior cranky pants in the afternoons. latley he has been too cranky for his last feed and I've had to put him to bed early and either wake him or try a little dream feeding around 9pm.
V, I was packing up 000's the other day and it was a little sad to see some of those clothes no longer fitting. Especially his little jeans they are almost too small, and I bought them the day I found out he was a boy at 19 week scan. I think I'm going to stash those away with his hospital mementos to keep. Who would have thought a pair of jeans meant so much to me.
Em, treat yourself to the whole kit a kaboodle at the hair dresser, you will feel fantastic. Good luck with the cloth nappies. I keep thinking about it and I'm just so lazy. I will definetly keep it in mind for #2, 'cause I think by then I will want to be a full time SAHM and be a lot more comfy with our new house. I will be putting up the Christmas tree next week because I am pretty busy this weekend.
about hair, don't get it too short it hurts more when it's pulled than longer hair, and apparently it still gets pulled.
amm, congrats on your engagement
Tracey, that's good news on the work offer, they obviously really do value you. Make them grovel  get everything you can from them. When are you planning to go back?
I'm going to have to go back to the nappy thread to talk about swim nappies and poo. I think that Xaviers poo is too runny for the swim nappies.
Well I almost made it all the way through without xavier waking up. he has 2 lots of 2.5 hours sleep today already. He really is only good for 1.5 hours awake at a time. well best have some lunch and some play time. he is surprisingly strong in the arms for a baby that has spent so little time on his tummy. Well he will do anything to be able to watch the TV,
Keep well everyone.
-
Well everyone, I thought I would pop in with some better news from our front.
MIL's appointment went better than expected. The oncologist has said he is 95% certain that MIl does NOT have cancer in her spine!! Thankgoodness. We dont know what the mark on her spine is, but fingers crosssed the oncologist is right. She is still to have some scans, but everything is looking soo much better.
Thanks for all of your kind words.
Luv Nicky
-
Hi everyone
Well, it's official - I can't keep up with this thread, lol. I stop reading for a day or two and all of a sudden, three pages pop up.
Nicky - yay for the news about your MIL. Fingers crossed the oncologist is right.
Tracey - I love the pics of Zyon. He is sooo cute. :)
Mel and Jem - hope you're both doing okay at home with the kids.
Megan and Em - how did your haircuts go? I am having a bad hair life. I never do anything other than tie mine back. I don't even own a hairdryer. My hair used to be really long, but I got it cut a few weeks after Diana was born as it was getting too unmanageable.
August Moon Mum - congratulations on your engagement.
Well, nothing much to report here. Diana is still doing well. She went swimming in a swimming pool on Wednesday, and unlike the sea, she seemed to really enjoy it. She mostly sleeps through the night, but occasionally wakes once or twice. I don't mind this as like the others have mentioned, I enjoy the cuddle time with her.
I am planning to start Diana on solids in about 2 1/2 weeks when she turns 6 months. What is this Farex that everyone is talking about? Is it a brand name, or is it an actual food item? And is it necessary to give to bub? I am hoping to give her only home cooked food, rather than something out of a jar, for the first few months.
I am feeling pretty good having had the week off work. Seems to have done wonders for the pnd, which is really good. I had a job interview yesterday for a job starting next year. It sounds fantastic and I hope I get it. I hope my current boss gives me an okay reference. I am a bit worried, as because of my pnd, we did not part on the best of terms... (I said some *****y things, which I later apologised for, but still feel a bit bad about.)
I bought a small Christmas tree the other day and have started making decorations for it tonight. Hope to have it up this weekend.
Oh, and how is this for Murphy's Law - I finally got my car fixed this week. It hadn't worked for weeks. DH kept promising to fix it, but never got around to it, so I finally booked it into a garage. Tonight, I get a call from DH saying that his car broke down on the way to work. He had to leave it in town and catch the train home. Seems that we only ever have one working car at a time. Oh well, better than no car at all. Hope this one it not too expensive to fix.
Hi to everyone else. I hope to catch up on some proper personals tomorrow. Have a great weekend.
-
hey everyone only 24 sleeps til Santa comes
amm - congrats on the engagement - and i understand the whole one week missing your partner then the next week wishing they would just leave you alone - my df has been doing fly in fly out work on a 7 & 7 roster for over 12mths now and i'm still not use to it - and yes as today being the first official day of the Christmas month (why should we only celebrate it on 1 lonely day) my christmas tree will be up, tinsil hanging from everything and anything and pretty light dazzling in the windows - man i love christmas time
tracey - good luck with the prommo - and asking never hurt anybody
nicky - that is fantastic new about MIL - i will keep sending positive thoughts to you and your family
Z - farex is a dry rice cereal which most mums use to introduce solids to bub - it's mild on there tummys and is generally mixed with either breast milk or made up formula so the taste of it isn't too forgien - on it's own it's virtually tastless (my df knows from experience - he wanted to know what i was feeding our son) - it packed with nutrients and you'll find it with the baby foods in the supermarket in a bright yellow box and farex printed across the top - they also have different flavours as bub gets old
sorry i haven't written more but as you can see from when i posted this it's 1.30 in the morning and i didn't have the best of sleeps last night so my eyes are hanging outta my head
well everybody hope you had a pleasant night and best of luck with the chrissy decorations this weekend
-
Morning everyone!!
Well I survived my first night without Jason and I was soooooooooooooooooooo lonely!!! He has gone away for his bucks weekend, they left yesterday arvo and he called when he got there and I told him not to call me until he is on his way home on Sunday but I miss him sooooooooo much!! I really want to message and tell him that I love him and miss him but this is a test for me to see how long I can go without contacting him - I wonder how long I will last??!! I had a girl friend and her daughter over for dinner last night and we had a few drinks, well two! LOL And it went STRAIGHT to my head and now I've got a bit of a headache ARGH! We are going out tonight too, so I wonder how I am going to go, I am normally so tired by 10pm cause Avaleigh wakes up at 6am!! I am a bit worried about leaving Avaleigh with mum tonight, I tried giving her some formula for her last feed but she didnt want to take it, she just cried whenever it went near her mouth. She has had formula before but that was at her lunch time feed. I am going to try again today and see how she goes. I have taken 3 bottles of EBM out of the freezer, maybe I should make it 4..... We will see how the formula goes and if she doesnt like it I will take some more out, just means I will need to express more milk before the wedding cause the EBM is for the wedding! It is kinda nice to know that Avaleigh prefers my breast milk over the formula and I dont blame her... doesnt smell the nicest!!
Nicky - great news about your MIL!
August - congrats on the engagement! Have you guys set a date yet?
Guess what! Avaleigh has started 'walking' (lol) in her walker!! She loves it and whenever we put her in it she moves around and walks backwards and side ways. But I guess its not like a full on walk, she just pushes herself back a little, stops and goes again. She does get right up on her legs when she does it....
Anyway, I better get going. I am putting my chrissy tree up this morning!!
-
Hi girls!
Its funny how you come to depend on technology and Belly Belly in particular - we had no power yesterday and i was so lost. We got a note a few weeks ago about power going off because they needed to do some upgrade or something but me in with my baby brain read it as 'your power may be going off' not 'WILL be going off'. It went off at 8.30am and didnt come back on until 3.30pm. It was too hot to go out walking or anything so it was a super boring day around here! I needed to ask if any of you girls have had days were bubs only drinks a little bit? For the past two mornings T will only drink about 80-100ml of his first two bottles - normally has around about 180ml. I have had days where he wants more but never less. He seems happy enough and drank fine for his other feeds but it was just a bit strange.
Thanks for everyone who has mentioned the hair. Zofia I loved your day hair life comment! I did go quite a big chop - just above my shoulders and i really love it. Went the whole works - blonde and brown foils, a gloss treatment, long fringe cut in, conditioning treatment. Very relaxing. Tom was fantastic for my sister in law and she has offered to have him anytime so that was good. Megan - are you liking your hair any better yet?
First of all - AMM congratulations on getting engaged!! :heartbeat: How did it happen? Romantically i hope. DH proposed to me in our kitchen and i really really needed to go to the toilet. I screamed, said yes, wacked on the ring and ran to the bathroom.. Is it this weekend you had a wedding to go to? What did you end up doing with Lucas?
Zofia - glad that Diana loves swimming. Does she get any rashes or anything from the water? At xmas we are going to my aunties who has a pool and i would love to put Tom in but wondered what it would do to his skin. I also really want to start him on swimming lessons - just been to lazy to enquire about them. Good luck with finding out about your new job!
Tracey - your new ticker is gorgeous. Zyon is one cool kid. With the cloth nappies - at this stage i have only ordered a couple of All in Ones from Babybeehinds to see how i go. Then if i like them i will look into getting the other ones - have to read up abit more about the covers and boosters etc. Its all abit like a foreign language at the moment but i am really looking forward to giving them a go!
Nicky - that is great news about your MIL. Hope you are feeling better from your ear infection. I get them all the time - DH says its because i have big ears - and i hate that off-balance out of it feeling.
Veronica - not long now until the wedding. Hope you dont miss Jason too much over the weekend and have a great time tonight. I know what you mean about alcohol going straight to your head - i am abit of a two pot screamer at the moment!
Bec - Tom loves tv too. Yesterday with the power off he kept looking at it and crying. I think he is addicted. Last night after his bath he sat and watched it with out blinking for an hour.
I know i have missed out on everyone but better be off. I have my work xmas party tonight - just a spit roast at my bosses house. We are taking Tom along because my boss just loves him and has brought a porta-cot and high chair and car seat so he can 'go and play at her house'. They have a spa so am going to have a soak in that when he goes to bed. By that time the others will be drunk enough that no one will remember seeing me in bikini!
Going off to dig xmas tree out of the shed. Have a good day everyone!!
-
Another quick question - do any of your bubs get really rashy around their chin and neck from dribbling? Do you put anything on it? Tom looks like he is growing a red beard today..
-
Mrs Daisy... Try Bepanthen on his chin, it's only from the saliva so no big deal, but yeah Bepanthen will help the dribble not soak into his chin!
Thanks for the comment on Zyon... OOOh going MCN is so much fun & saves $$$'s (not initially) I have a HUGE stash & just rotate them & I wash every 3days so it aint much more laundry & it's therapeutic washing & putting away!?
I'm waiting til DH is home 2moro to do Chrissy tree & going to take kids to get santa pic!!!
-
Em - Avaleigh gets that as well! Not on her chin but on her neck. I wipe the area clean with a wet cloth and then dry it and then put baby powder on the area, making sure that it goes in to the rolls too. I found doing it that way it clears up pretty quickly!!
Well Avaleigh definitely doesnt like formula!! I wonder why she guzzled it down so quickly the other weekend? Maybe because she didnt know what it was!! Looks like me and my breast pump are going to be best friends again!!
At what age do babies have cows milk? Dont freak out and think I am going to give Avaleigh cows milk, because I am not!! Just want to know what age so I can start preparing myself to be breastfeeding for longer than the 6 months that I wanted to...
-
V - i think cows milk is allowed after 12 months?? Dont quote me on that though. Have you tried different types of formula?
Tom will only ever drink NAN or Karicare - refuses to drink Heinz or S26. He probably likes Karicare the best but he poos better (sorry TMI!) on NAN so thats what he is on now.
It took us a while to figure out which one he likes best - had to throw out two perfect good containers of formula. Little bugger. I think the chemists sell the little trial packs - which i didnt realise until after.
-
Yeah about 12ish months for cows milk...
-
Em - the only formula I have bought is S26. I might see if my chemist has any trial packs.
I just had to try Avaleigh on a little bit of EBM in a bottle and she nearly refused to take it and I was going to cancel going out tonight, but then she realised that it was EBM and not the formula. So looks like I can still go out tonight but I think I will be checking my phone every 5 mins to see if Mum has called!
-
V - Lach loves the Heinz Nurture formula, and has no problems going in between formula and breast milk.
And it's easy on the pocket too.
I do like the suggestion I think rebecca made (?), about half formula half breastmilk. Give that a whirl and see how you go.
Just checking in. Hope all are well
Hugs
-
Hi all
Just a quick one- am back from holiday. Its ehausting. drove through the night to trick Kaetlyn hehehe.
BBL am about to buy a new breast pump- one of those medela ones I know they are a fortune, but expressing is doing my head in and have things coming up and I need to be free from feeding. MIL is starting to get anxious about when she can Babysit, and at the moment I am avoiding it as my milk bank is nearly in debit!!! I think there is only enough there for one transaction!!! LMAO! I can be so funny!!
Oh and well get underway with the facebook pic this week to!!!
-
Hey everyone!!
Quiet weekend in here..
I went out last night for the first time in 1 and a 1/2 years! It was a good night, took me a while to get in to the music at the club but it was fun to get out of the house and let my hair down a little. We had a bit of a drama before going out tho! I left Avaleigh with mum at 5pm and I went home got ready and went to my friends house for a few drinks. I get a call at 7.30 from mum saying that Avaleigh wont take the bottle! She takes it, sucks and cries. Bugger I thought!! So I jumped in my car and drove to mums house to see what was going on... It turned out that Avaleigh didnt like the bottles mum was feeding her with (avent) I have the tommee tippee ones. I am quite proud of myself for working that one out!! So I stayed with mum until she was fed and settled. This morning she was a bit funny with the bottle too because I think she is scared of the formula I tried giving her! lol
I got home at 3am this morning and spent a little time expressing my boobs. GOSH they hurt!! I havent breastfed Avaleigh yet today cause I drunk a bit and my boobs are filling up so quickly. I just spent nearly an hour expressing them both and at the end I had top milk them by hand cause the breast pump wasnt getting all the milk. Felt like I was milking a cow!
Jason is on his way home. YAY! I cant wait to see him and hear of all the things he got up to. I didnt call him and am very proud of that. He did message me this morning saying how much he loves me and misses us. My girl friend that I went out with last night spoke to her BF (she caved!!) and he said that Jason was dancing around in a SKIRT!! I hope someone took pictures...
Well better go. Avaleigh is asleep so going to try and spend some time in the sun. I went for a trial spray tan on Friday and I am not too happy with it!!
Have a good sunday everyone!

Veronica, sounds like you had a great weekend. Jason sounds like he had a ball too. I hope someone tooks photos, would love to see..... Jack still has troubles having EBM any way, any tips?? Have tried everything, hoping it is just a phase and he will start soon.
Sara, check out Ebay for the mini electric breast pump. I bought one when jack was born from Perth, for I think it was $60 delivered. And it is great, like new. How was the holiday?
Hey everyone, check out my new signature. Notice anything different????? As of yesterday I'm offically a student Doula. Can't wait to begin. Ordering modules tomorrow, all registered though. Can't wait to start, I honestly feel great about it all. I can't wait to help other mums to try and have a wonderful birthing experience. So exciting..........
Hope you all are having lovely weekends.

V - congrats for not calling Jason! It sounds like you had a great time out last night, once Avaleigh was settled, I'm so glad you were able to get out & about without too many dramas.
AMM - congrats on the engagement, that's fantastic news.
Tracey - woo hoo for the Christmas tree being set up. Isn't this time of year lovely with kids! I bet it's going to be really gorgeous with Indah this year, cos she'll have an even better idea of what's going on.
well, Pat's mum arrived from Scotland today, and I gotta be honest - it's going to be one long long summer. I don't want to be a B!tch, BUT.. if a kid is sitting on the floor and thinks that your foot is kind of interesting to look at, DON'T start kicking it about towards him & startling him & then continue doing it cos you think his reaction is funny. It's not, and it's his mum inevitably (ie ME) who has to calm him down when everyone's finished upsetting him by pushing his buttons just that little bit too much. And if they talk about his "temper" much more I'm going to show them where he might possibly get it from. Again, if he's ready for sleep, pushing him over the edge just isn't pretty - for anyone, regardless of how old they are. And that's about the only time he shows a "temper". Mind you, not just MIL who talked about this, my mum has started it too - again, cos she pushed him too far, but that's a story for another time, I'm still P'd off about it. There was something else I had to gripe about, but I've forgotten. I feel so sorry for those girls who have difficult MIL's who are here all the time. At least I've got an end date.
I think Pat might also have let her think that she might be able to take Liam out & about for walks just the 2 of them. Fat chance, given that she's definitely on the path to some kind of dementia, which is really really sad, and so hard for Pat & his brothers to deal with, but imagine if she took him, then got lost, which happened last year, and couldn't tell us where they were...I don't think so. I'm so over protective I can't imagine letting anyone take him out without either myself or Pat present, and it's more likely to be me, as I'm the milk supply at the moment.
I remembered my gripe - bloody people who think that soft drinks & junk food are appropriate for babies. I'm think I'm headed for the title of neurotic SIL from hell, but again, if Pat's brother (or anyone) ever dares to give Liam junk food without my consent, he's going to get a massive piece of my mind. It even annoys me that he jokes about it. This is the man who thinks that Tim Tams are an adequate meal - goes through at least one packet every couple of days.
So sorry for the whinge. Think I'm going to be doing a lot of walking in the near future, might have to set up a punching bag too...

Hey Mel - that's fantastic news, so exciting. I have so much admiration for people who take on study when they've got young kids.

Hey Guys
I just did my first 'have dinner somewhere else, come home with sleeping baby to a dark house, check all the cupboards and under beds (lol), transfer sleeping baby etc etc' all by myself! Yey! All went smoothly - we only bought this house this year and I've never come home after dark by myself here. It's funny, before Autumn, I would never have worried about all the things that might possibly happen - now, I'm a paranoid freak.
Jan - I so hear you on the protective thing - the thought of somebody else taking my baby out somewhere without me makes me shudder and I feel the panic attack rising already... Good luck with the MIL, is she actually staying with you? Do you know her well enough to say something?
Mel - congratulations! I didn't realise you had that in mind but it's fantastic that you'll be doing something you're interested in. Hope everythings going ok with the foot. Is DH back? Sorry I lose track of stuff.
August - :happyforyou: great news! BTW I love that photo of Lucas - everytime I see it, it makes me smile.
V - Sounds like you're doing a great job of still having a life-after-baby! I'm afraid I'm just not capable of that yet. You must be getting very excited with the big day so near...
Em - Autumn is BF but she changes her feeding habits now and then. For instance, this last week, she has really picked up after a week or so of not so much. I think she's having a growth spurt earlier than expected actually, with all the extra eating and sleeping she's doing. I also have a tv lover - she likes Huey and shark documentaries. My sister will not allow her 11m old to watch any tv at all because she was told that it contributes to ADHD - due to the rapidly changing images they cannot concentrate for long on one thing as they grow... it does make you wonder, but I'm not prepared to be the hardcore tv police. I'd like to know how you go with the cloth nappies. Zyon's geckos got me inspired but, the cost! If only you could get enough for a few days trial before you actually shell out for them.
Raels - I tend to think not teething yet, and yes the runs did start after her shots. They say it's not due to them, but I am very suspicious of the rotavirus vaccine - it's so new and there have been problems with previous versions of it. I am only just today beginning to see an improvement in her 'creations' lol.
Nicky - Autie has started sleeping on her belly and I was freaking out because I couldn't keep her on her back at night, but I have the Angelcare movement monitor and for me it's so worth the extra money for a little peace of mind. Now that it has gone off a couple of times when she moved right to the edge, I sleep a little easier.
Today I did a bad, bad thing... I spent $32 on a christmas outfit she can only wear for one day (well, I might get two or three out of it due to all the different family gatherings) but oh my goodness - so cute! It's from Myers. Red bloomers with a small reindeer and a cream swing top with red trim and a reindeer in the pocket. I think I'm going to have to play up the 'she only has one first christmas' angle to DH when I tell him!
I guess I'd better get to bed, how time flies when you're trying to catch up!
Have a happy week everyone :D

Hi ladies
Well i have been another MIA since we went away for the christening. It was a lovely christening but the whole weekend went down hill from there lol! Ethan's finally started to improve from his cold then he had his needles and started full on teething, poor little mite, we really thought his tooth was going to cut as it was showing just under the gum but it has gone again! Ethan has also started waking at night again, about 3-4 times, i forgot how tiring that was lol!! He was just starting to sleep from 7pm-5am or 11pm-7am and i took it for granted:doh:
There was so much to read that i have forgotten it all but a few things i wanted to say
Mel- Well done hun, Thats great, how exciting:clap: You will be a fantastic Doula. I would have you as my Doula any day:)
AMM- Congratulations on your engagement, how wonderful:clap:
Nicky- Fantastic news re you MIL that really is great:clap:
V- Glad you survived Jason being away, and well done on not calling:clap:
Ok ladies i will try not to get so behind again lol. Goodnight:)

Sacha, can't wait to see photos of little autumn in her outfit, how cute!! Dh is still away for 3 weeks, missing him heaps. My foot is much better, walking properely now and the wounds are healing nicely. Have another appointment in a little under 3 weeks so fingers crossed all is well. Well done, on your first home to bed trip on your own.
Jessikah, thanks for the nice comment about having me as your doula. I would love to if we lived close enough. Can't wait to hear about your exciting news. Are you starting to chart anything yet? Or just still just enjoying the TTC ride ;). Sorry to hear poor Ethan is unwell ATM, I hate it when they are sick and you can do nothing for them but give them lots of cuddles and kisses. He might be going through yet another growth spurt or some other milestone. Hugs to you though, it must be though getting up again 3-4 times a night, oh how soon we forget. Last night I was up about 4 times between Jack and Charlize, not fun, and the bags under the eyes tells the tale today. I hope he gets better for his sake and yours soon.

last night is catching up to me!! I am sooo tired. i have just given avaleigh her last feed, so hopefully she will go to sleep so I can snuggle up to Jason who has been in bed for ages now!! Jason told me all about his weekend and it sounds like he had a lot of fun!! All the boys thought that they would run a muck on him but he can a muck on them!! LOL He's turned in to a bit of a grandpa lately and doesnt drink or anything so he decided that he needed to pretend like he was 16 again and run a muck!! He said he was dressed in a hoola (sp) skirt, wig and clam bikini all night!! I thought he took our camera but he didnt so gotta get photos off who ever took a camera.
sorry no time for personals! My boobs are still so sore from not feeding this morning - feels like when my milk came in!
night all.

Thanks so much everyone for the congrats on our engagement. We are going to get married on the Cook Islands in the south pacific sometime next year, date will depend on best time to travel so we have not decided that yet.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, we had a very relaxing one. DF was going to go away again today but he had a chat with his manager and wormed his way out of it. I feel guilty as I was such a sook this morning about him going!
Tracey ~ I made some cloth nappies when I was pg after getting addicted to the cloth nappy thread! He has grown out of them now but I do use just strips of terry in a nappy cover during the day at home. Good luck with your offer too!
Mel ~ Hey that’s awesome about starting studies to become a doula! Good for you!
Becca ~ Lucas was playing on the floor lengthways to the TV last week and when I came back in he had spun himself right around to watch the cartoons!
Janno ~ I’m with you on that one, but I’d be extra protective in your case.
Sacha ~ Thanks for the comment on the pic, I was going to update it the other day but changed my mind!
Tears ~ I think I will feel the same way when Lucas starts waking up 3 or 4 times a night. How were things after the christening?
Raels ~ I still can’t believe how uncanny it all turned out with the birthdays too!
Blueflower ~ Hope you had fun on holidays, look forward to hearing more about it.
Nicky ~ That’s such good news about your MIL, a huge relief for you all I’m sure.
Zofia ~ Glad to hear you are feeling better. Did you see the handmade chrissy decorations they did on better homes and gardens this week? It’s in this months mag too, made me wish I didn’t splurge out on store bought ones.
V ~I think S26 make a ready made formula, its on the shelf at coles and woolies and comes in a ‘popper’ box. Might be handy for the wedding if she would take it. Also, I bet it’s nice to have Jason back home, sound like he had a good time.
MrsD ~ How was your work xmas party? My water was brown for half a day last week and I had just enough water for Lucas’ bottles. I sent DF straight down after work to buy some, and by the time he lugged home the biggest one he could find the water had cleared up.
Well lots of love and hi to everyone too. I want to do some gardening today as my indoor plants need some TLC, but first, to the laundry!!
Have a great day!
-
Oh I missed that, big congrats to you on your engagement, and the cook islands sound just wonderful for a wedding. Can't wait to hear about the plans.
-
Cant wiat to see pic's of Autumn in her Christmas outfit!!!!
I ot a family Chrissy/santa pic (well the 3 kids) y'day! pick it up on Thursday! I cant wiat to see teir faces Indah wasnt crying but wasnt thrilled!???
-
Oh I really wanted to share this, I came across it researching soilds. silentnights.org/printouts/your_baby.pdf It's a brochure and has excellent infomation on breastfeeding, feeding, sleeping, including DAY sleeping for those having probs there, and lots more. It answers alot of questions that are hard to find answers for too.
-
Yay! Lots to catch up on - it was a quite weekend on here. I was lurking around here on Saturday, bored because DH was playing cricket.
Mel - congrats on your decision to become a doula. I had never even heard of one before i joined BB - i think its a great idea.
Jan - you poor thing. Is your MIL staying for the whole summer? You will have to install a GPS tracking device on the pram in case she goes missing! Its actually a really scarey thought. I totally hear you on the whole 'temper' thing. My PIL constantly call Tom a 'bad' baby and i just want to punch them. I try to explain i would be 'bad' too if i had reflux acid burning my throat but have just given up on them now.
Sacha - cant wait to see Autumn's outfit. I have to start the hunt for Tom's. I do have his santa suit that i brought but also saw a gorgeous yellow tshirt and demin shorts in Target that i might get for Boxing Day. DH thinks i am crazy that i have his outfits planned so far in advance.. not going to tell him i have already started working out what i am going to wear too!
With the cloth nappies - i think i will still do a combination of both cloth and disposable at this stage. Dont know if i have the commitment to go full time. You should see my pile of washing (that i should be doing instead of being on here).
I have only ordered a couple to see how i go and then will just get them gradually if i like them instead of shelling out the big $$ all at once.
That is so cute that Autie loves shark documentries. Its interesting what your sister says about ADHD. DH and i were talking the other day about back in 'our day' no-one had ADHD or food allergies, and now every second child seems to have them. I am hoping when T is older, we will have like a 1 hour of telly rule or something and he can send the rest of the time playing - not sure how it will go though!
TOJ - Good to hear from you! Poor Ethan and his teeth. Tom was the same. Had a week of hell and then they disappeared - i was glad the pain was gone but it only means we have to go thru it all over again.
AMM - Xmas party was fun. Tom was very well behaved (take that Mother in Law!!). Didnt brave the spa as one of the girls extremly drunk husband was in there and i had already been cornered by him talking crap for ages so i didnt want to be trapped again. The food LOOKED lovely - i saw that because while i was organising Tom everyone ate it all!! I got little scraps of meat and a potato.. I had like 4 helpings of dessert though so didnt go hungry .
I took T to get a Santa photo on Sunday - one of our local stores was doing it. It was very strange.. Santa wouldnt hold Tom - he made me sit on the arm of the chair and hold him. I looked feral as - positive my bra was showing out of my top and quick hair up in pony tail. I said i didnt want to be in it and he was like it makes a lovely family photo. Not if his dad isnt in it! But he still would hold him.. I know there is some funny laws these days but its Santa for gods sake! Havent picked up the photo yet but pretty sure it wont be the one i am sending out. I think i will have to go to one of the shopping centres and get one done there.
Ok better be off - exciting day of laundry and grocery shopping ahead!
-
AMM - have had a very quick look at that site and it looks excellent!! Well done for finding it and thankyou for sharing . I love that it has a day sleep section - everyone always seems to talk about nighttime. Going back now to have a another look. Thanks xx
