Oh bum! Just catched up with your posts I didn't realise Cashmere Mafia had started! I missed it and i've been looking forward to it for ages I'll have to see if I can download it from somewhere! There isn't going to be an encore by any chance is there?
Jas, I just had a look at ur piccies, and I am mega freaked out!!!!!!
Lachlan seems to have the same clothes as Noah, and Noah's 'dog dog', is Lachlan's 'Ralph'!!!!!
I cannot beleive how many things Noah has, that Lachlan has..... it's very twilight zone......
lol ALso, you are gorgeous;) Stunner.
Hi all. We have a tooth.. well.. half of one. LOL
Eating like a trooper here, and sitting for as long as he wants with absolutely no assistance at all. He doesnt fall or anything anymore. yay.
Anyone else have an average sized bubba? I am not getting worried at all. I know Lachlan is growing well and I know he will not be a small kid... not with a mum who's 5ft 10 and a dad who's 6ft 2. lol
I am just a little over the mums in my mums group, saying how 'skinny' lach is. He is over a month younger than all the other babies bar one. And the one who he is older than ( 3 days), he is much bigger than. Obvisouly, these mums dont remember their own bubbas at 6 months, and like to feel like their child is more superior... hehe don't we all.
Anys, Not much happening. We are off to Wagga to surprise my sister for her birthday. She has only seen Lach 4 times since he was born, so I can't wait for her to see him now he is sitting up and getting teeth.
I don't have a 'baby' anymore. He is a little boy. It's a little sad really.
I am really starting to think about #2........
I want my bubbas close together. We aren't going to try until Lach's 12 months, but if something happens btween 9 and 12 months... then..... whoops. LOL
DP only wants 2, but we'll see what he says after the next one. hehe
Hope you're all well, and I hope I can start chatting to you all.
I have noticed that I don't really know anyone that has joined this group since we have had our bubbas, and I hope that I am not too freaky that they wouldn't wanna know me. I'm really not that bad :p
anys, I'm off to bathe my little angel. Nighty night.
xxoo
Jas - not sure about an encore sorry! Just looked at your photos and Noah is adorable but i am sure you know that!!
Ha ha Nicky i just read your post and when i was looking at Jas's photos i was thinking to myself, "god he has alot of the same clothes as lucas"...we must all have well dressed boys!!
I had to get in on the act and look at Jas' photos as well. Gorgeous! Noah is one good looking boy. The black and white photo of your DH (very good looking BTW) and Noah laying on the couch together is beautiful.
I had a look thru the tv guide and can't see a encore performance of Cashmere Mafia - which is very surprising. Normally they play them 2 or 3 times.
Megan - i cant believe i forgot to add So you think you can dance to the list! I am obsessed. Oh if only i could dance like that!
A girlfriend just sent me this email - it is similar to the quote that Jas told us about before so i thought i would share.
Before I was a mum I had never tripped over toys or forgot the words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether my plants were poisonous or not.
I never thought about immunisation.
Before I was a mum I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Chewed on
Peed on
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts
I slept all night
Before I was a mum I had never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests
Or give shots
I never looked into teary eyes and cried
I never got glouriously happy over a simple grin
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a mum I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces because i couldn't stop the hurt
I never knew something so small could effect my life so much
I never knew that I could love someone so much
I never knew I could love being a mum.
Before I was a mum I never knew the feeling of having my heart outside my body
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy
Before I was a mum I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was ok
I had never know the warmth, the love, the joy, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a mum
I didn't know I was capable of loving so much before I was a mum
And before I was a grandma I never knew those feelings more than doubled when you saw that little bundle being held by 'your baby'
Hi Everyone,
Nicky, Lol thats funny Ralph - I like it. Thanks very much!!! I suppose it's just the same as being preg one sec your small the next your huge who cares what they say!! How annoying though! I know what you mean about number 2 if i'm completely honest I have to admit the thought has definitely gone through my mine once or ten times!
Megan, Thanks very much I definitely do know he's gorgeous (it's a bit vain but it's nice to know you have a cute kid isn't it!) That's so cute that our boys have the same outfits, it's weird being at the shops and seeing a baby with an outfit on that Noah has, it's like he's the only baby that would wear his outfits.
Em, Thanks, I love that photo I got a few good photos that afternoon cute hey! That's a bit crap about cashmere mafia hopefully Phil will be able to find it and download it for me, that is a beautiful poem I love it
Nicky- You are a crack up!!! All the old members seem to be disappearing! Lol I am still here though.
I looked at the photos as well, and sorry but Kaetlyn doen't have any of the same clothes:lol: thankgoodness:clap:
Well not much to report here. Had a bad night here, the whole house was awake for ages, even the dogs.
Am about to get ready for my stupid 945 netball game.
We have a wedding on Sat and christening on Sunday. I was at K-mart at their sale tday, and they had a cute dress $17, reduced to $14 then $11, and then with the sale, I got it for $8.15! What a bargin. hehehe aybe we can wear it both days!
I figured that if it is cool, I can put legginings on her and a little cardi and all will be sweet! We put her in the dres tonight and she looks really cute in it! I will take pics and put them up!
Okay gotta run!
Good evening everyone!
Hope you are all well. Things are still crazy here and we haven't stopped this week and will still be on the go tomorrow!!
Jess- I am glad to hear that your gorgeous little man is doing well. Hope to hear more from you soon.
Waaay too many posts to do personals but thought I would check in anyway! Oscar is nearly nearly crawling. He is up on his knees rocking and can move his knees but not his hands  I did a big clean up of the house today and decluttered and baby proofed everything!! I can't believe how big he is getting  I had my ILs come over before and boy do they frustrate me! They called earlier in the night but I didn't answer the phone then DH came home and they called as soon as he stepped foot in the door (DH has to drive past their house to get home) They wanted to come over and DH said that we were about to have dinner but they came over anyway  Then because they looked after Oscar saturday everything he did tonight they were telling me that they taught him! FFS! I can't help but get angry and I know I shouldn't and should just ignore them but I clearly find it hard to.
Sorry for the selfish posts latley. I am trying to keep up with you all but you're too chatty :P
Evening all :)
Jan, Autie also falls to sleep feeding off me. I was going to try breaking her of the habit until I read the book "the science of parenting" and it really made me think twice. Of course the choice is ultimately yours so good luck! With the eating thing, I have heard that many babies don't like puree and are happy to go straight into finger foods etc (and that may even be at a much older age than the average solids eater) so it sounds like Liam may be one of those. Broccoli and cauliflower florets are really easy for them to hold BTW, I keep a bag of frozen ones in the freezer and just steam one for each meal. I know what you mean abou the contorted sleeping positions - Autumn's favourite is knees tucked up underneath with her head wedged into the cot corner.
Mel, I'd love to have Autie do a sleepover at my mum's but she's still so dependent on me to feed at night, I can't see it happening anytime soon
LOL Megan, I know exactly what you mean! Any excuse to get out of the house - 'oops, I don't have that one ingredient to make that one recipe that I really don't need to make - better go shopping!
Em how did your lunch go? Sorry to hear you've had a hard time with the reflux - hope it's been a better day for you both. LOL at Gordan Ramsey - we love to watch his shows (whatever they are) to see him go off his nut. DH thinks he's the biggest ****er in history and that he wouldn't last five seconds doing that to Australian blokes
 to think you don't feel you can chat Nicky. What do you mean by freaky? Do you have three legs? A tongue split? A strange addiction to window shopping on Ebay? (If it's the last one, you can join my club if you like) Ooh, we are going to TTC at 12months too! Maybe we can manage to pull it off at the same time! Autumn's only average weight too, but she somehow still manages to have the rolls she was born with. Is Lachlan BF? Because BF babies are often regarded as smaller or skinnier. My SIL had the same issue with her two. Next time tell them he's perfect and right on track to not be obese LOL
Sorry to hear you had a bad night Sara. Fingers crossed for a better one tonight.
We had a shocker last night too. Autie's itching is driving us both nuts so today I gave in and got her some anti-histamine to help save her from herself. Ok, so it's already full of bad stuff, but why do they have to pack it full of 'brilliant scarlet' as well? Who needs their medicine to look pretty? So frustrating. Also, is everyone's bub getting bored with their toys? (Or maybe I'm just bored with them and need some excuse for more shopping LOL)
Ok, this might be labeling myself a dork, but my additions to the tv show list are Property Ladder, Location Location Location and Anthony Bourdain. I know, I know - sorry, but I can't help myself. My secret shame.
Morning all!
Jess ~ Great news about Ethan. Thanks for popping in and letting us know how he is doing. I know what its like to have a bub in NICU and its not easy, stay strong, we are thinking about you both.
Emma ~ How is Toms reflux? Sounds like you had a close call too with the whitetail. In their cot is the last place you?d expect a spider. As for those medical shows, I really cant bring myself to watch them. I only watched the first episode of saving babies, I was pg and could not watch any more after that! Incidentally though, the one I did watch had a baby with gastroschisis on it, so as soon as my DS was diagnosed with it I knew what it was, so I was thankful for that.
Nicky ~ I suppose you would say Lucas is an average sized bub. I go by his corrected age if strangers ask sometimes, as he is only supposed to be 6 months old now and not 7. I got a 'geez he is tiny' last night from SIL. But compared to her 18 month old who is literally the size of a 3 year old it would seem that way! In ways I think it would be harder for her actually as he seems like an older child with developmental delay really, now that I'm thinking about it.
Well I've had a very stressful week. DF who has epilespy ended up in emergency last weekend and my nerves have been shot to pieces with the worry of it all, as his job involves alot of driving... So I'm trying to keep it together in regards to that. Lucas has been great, his waking at 5am has only been a twice off, might have been to do with his teeth or getting cold of a morning maybe??
Anyway, speaking of Lucas he is stirring so have a great day everyone!
August, just curious what is your Lucas' middle name?? That is scary about DH's epilepsy, my DH has diabetes so i sort of know what you are going through, we have had a few trips to emergency ourselves! I hope he can keep it under control and you dont have to stress too much, although i know you never really stop if you're like me!!
Just jumping on very quickly as i have a sooky bub today and am also determined to get ironing done and have a spotless house to start the weekend! They just had a segment on the Kylie and Larry show about bullet proof backpacks and stab proof clothing for school kids. Isn't that sad..
Happy 7 months to Lucas! (AMM's Lucas)
Sacha _ Liam definitely gets bored with his toys. We don't have a huge number to begin with, but I do try to rotate them by putting some away for a week or so and then changing them over when he's no longer interested in what he's had. I'm thinking of checking out the toy library that our council has. I was thinking about introducing him to broccoli flowers soon, for the very reason that they're easy to hold. Will be interesting to see how he goes, cos I'm really not fussed about broccoli, I only eat it because it's so good for me.
Nicky - I am an "oldie" I guess, and I say you should stick around, cos I love hearing how Lachlan & you are getting on. And you're definitely not freaky. Liam's also an average sized kid according to the charts, but I constantly get people saying how big he is - which I secretly find annoying, because with a BF baby, there's nothing I can do to alter his size, it's not like he's getting fed junk food that's making him fat. And he doesn't even have a baby Buddha belly, so dumbheads, he's not "big". Oooh, bit of a soapbox vent for me there.. I'm kind of with you on a quick #2 as well (nature willing), although sometimes I do think that it would be nice to have Liam to himself until he's about 2, but I'm getting old, so I figure that I have to start early, just in case nothing happens for ages. I still don't have AF though (thank you BF), so who knows when I'll be back in working order.
Jas - I'm with the other girls, Noah is a super cutie. You've got some great photos on your site.
Em - love your poem, but eek for being a grandmother!! Cos if I'm a grandmother, then I'll be a MIL!!!
Dani - I hear your frustration. 24x7 you spend with Oscar (or just about), and then as soon as he does anything significant like almost crawling somebody else takes the credit. Yeah right. And very sneaky of them to spy on DH driving home.
August - Happy 7 months to Lucas! that must be scary to have your DF in emergency, I hope he's okay now, but it must be a constant worry in the back of your head.
Megan - Liam definitely gets antsy if he doesn't get a least 1 trip in his pram each day. If we haven't been out by around 5 he gets really grizzly, but if I put him in the pram it's like he magically turns into happy kid again, before falling to sleep.
Gotta go, the baby siren just went off...so much for a long sleep.
Hi Ladies
We are HOME!! YAY. we got home late yesterday afternoon. and when i went to get ethan up this morning he SMILED i got all teary as it was the first one in days! We have to go and get his hearing checked in two weeks just to make sure its all good. Other than that he is going to be okay, i am so relieved. Im being a bit crazy too i check everything for spiders (there's heaps at this new house) I turn all our clothes inside out before i put them on and i check his cot everytime i put him in it! This morning i sprayed the whole outside with spider spray! The Dr that did ethans surgery asked if we wanted to take the red back home in a jar and i said no way, i dont even want to see it! Silly man, lol!
Okay i wont do personals now as im still feeling really exhausted, hopefully i will sleep better tonight after ethans smile, it sort of tells me he is ok. Dh is really being a PITA at the moment as he wont help with anything! I really dont know whats got into him lately Grrrr! Any way no need to bother you with that Lol.
Im going to go cook up some more food for ethan, he ran out the other day.
BBL.
Ha Ha baby siren I like that, DS has been a baby siren since my last post, he's finally decided to have a sleep yay!
Also Jan, Lucas tried broccilli for the first time last night at the IL's. He polished off his bowl of pumpkin so I thought I'd give him a peice and he bit the whole lot off the stalk and I had to fish it out with my finger before he choked to death on it! DF mashed up what was left of it with some potato and he ate all of that as well. I was thinking of leaving broccilli until later but he loves it!
Megan, Lucas' middle name is Jay which is Jared's nickname, if we had a girl we would of used it as a middle name still but spelt Jae. I really like Lucas David.
Thanks for the wishes everyone regarding DF. It is a freaky thing to witness a seizure. It makes you really nervous as it happens so suddenly and without warning.
I'm going to see a show tonight with my parents, my brother is baby sitting hehehe!!! he owes us one as we've looked after his son a fair bit over the years. I'm hoping to have Lucas fed and in bed before they arrive at 7pm so hopefully it will be an easy one for him.
Oh hi Jess! You got in before me, thats great you are home and everything (besides DH) is good. Do you own the house? Maybe worth getting the place exterminated? If you rent then the owners should pay as the place clearly has not been safe for your son to live in. Big hooray to Ethan for being such a brave boy. I hope you get to see more beautiful smiles too!
