Hi everyone
Just a quick post from me tonight. Diana has her 8 week weigh in tomorrow and in the afternoon we are booked at the photographer's to have some newborn shots taken (although the studio were going to post me their address details but these haven't arrived yet, so we may have to postpone...).
Diana has had sticky eye for the past few weeks (in both eyes). We were worried it might be conjunctivitis, but apparently it isn't. Her eyes aren't red and there is no swelling, she just has some goo coming out of the tear ducts. She doesn't seem distressed by it. We are washing it with saline solution several times a day and it seems to be getting better, but still hasn't quite cleared up.
Better go now and get everything ready for tomorrow. I hate rushing around trying to find things in the morning, so like to have it all layed out the night before.
Good night.

Welcome back Fran:)
Sounds like you did an awesome job with Alessia's delivery. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Well I'm just about to head off for Charlize's swimming lesson, then have to be back by 12 for an inspection then off again for a seminar at 4. It's sooooo crazy ATM, I can't wait until this place sells. Because I'll tell you it's so hard to keep tidy and clean all the time with Charlize running around pulling everything out. In between Jacks feeds its starting to drive me crazy:rolleyes: I'll survive though, just don't know for how much onger;)
Anyway all, take it easy, hope your all well.
Oh BTW does anyone plan to try and have two babies close together? Will anyway be trying for another one in the near future?

Mel – you are a star for managing a newborn & a toddler whilst trying to sell your house. It’s hard enough to stay on top of this when it’s just 2 adults, but juggling little ones as well is hard, repetitive work. As for your question about having another one quickly – I’d be there in a flash if we could afford it, but sadly, I have a stupid car loan which needs to be covered, and Pat just doesn’t earn enough to manage this on top of the expenses that having a baby incurs, like OB fees. So I think I’ve got about 18 months to wait before I can convince him to go again.
Welcome back Fran, I’m looking forward to reading your birth story. It’s great that Allessia's feeding from you alone, hope that things settle down a bit more for you soon – 2 hourly feeds are exhausting! Isn’t it unreal when you can start using their name rather than just referring to them by nicknames. And yet I can write a sentence about using names without actually using them!
Bec – Xavier is gorgeous, love the pic. We set our overnight temp to around 16.5, which is on the lower end of the scale for newborn comfort (16-20 degrees is what I’ve read), and with a flannel wrap & a woollen blanket, Liam sleeps well. But then, this could just be Liam being a good sleeper anyway, it’s so hard to tell IYKWIM.
Sara – things are probably different from state to state, but I also went Private, but didn’t have to wait at all for the MCHN to contact me & to come for the 1st visit. Basically, we got home on the Saturday, & the MCHN called to make an appointment on Monday, and came to visit on Tuesday. I’m not particularly good at knowing what/who to call, so some of the other girls on here are probably going to be much more informative, but it does seem to me that it might be time to make a bit of a fuss, just in case you’ve slipped through the cracks.
Kylie –LOL at the big poo making Seb smile – that’s such a boy thing I reckon, the inordinate pride they get over bowel movements. Liam’s the same, he’s not yet smiling as such, but we can see great satisfaction on his little face when he fills his nappy. And we’re proud of him too LOL.
Zofia – good luck with the weigh in today, looking forward to hearing how Diana goes.
Anyhow, I’d better be off. My mum is coming over soon to take me shopping for an outfit to wear to a wedding that we are going to on Saturday. Fortunately it’s just the wedding, not the reception, that would have been too much to manage, but it’s still going to be a big day for us all. I’m not really in the mood for shopping, but it has to be done. And it will give me a chance to start looking around for Father’s Day presents, plus if we go to Chadstone I can get a yummy hot chocolate – that will make the trip worthwhile :D

Mel,
We are off to Bali on Sept 15th to have ceremonies for the kids, see the inlaws & have a bit of a holiday! OOOh & nope, as sad as it is, no more babies for us... We are blessed & have finished our family now, looking forward to the next stages of life!!!
I'd still be putting some breastmilk in eye whether sticky eye or conjunctivitus as it will likely clear up both/either!
Zyon had a rough night again, from 3am, awake on & off screaming with wind pain til 7am... I didnt feed him though as he wasnt looking for breast, but I popped a dummy in & he'd settle & fall asleep but half an hour or so & he'd be pulling up his legs & windy again... I tried for over an hour to get the wind up including giving him Infants Friend, but he's had a big feed at 7am & been asleep deeply since, so maybe the pocket of wind is out now so I will continue Infants friend each feed & hopefully he will then be able to sleep tonight!?
Ok I am gonna force myself to nap today after last nights lack of sleep, Indah has a cold & lot's of snot so will get hner to have a nap earlier than usual too... But got friends here tomorrow so gonna bake some lemon butter cupcakes!
BBL...

Just a quick post (because my house looks like a bomb has hit it and I should be cleaning!!)
V- I think I told you about how Oscar's eye was all yucky?? Well, it is the same as how you describe Avaleigh's. Everyone keeps telling me breast milk too so def keep trying that but I was a bit worried as the poor little man couldn't open his eye properly. So we went to the Dr and he gave us some eye drops which has cleared it up a lot. So maybe that could be something to look into??
Hi to everyone else... will come back later when my house is clean (if that ever happens!)
-
Hi there girls!
Glad I'm not the only one awake at crazy hours!! hehe
Well, we are off to see MCHN today.... will see how much beef the little one has put on. Hopefully a bit.
Those of you from the 2nd due July thread will probably remember our scare with Lach's brain at my 22 week scan, and then my joy at a 28 week scna in Melb.
Well, today we are having a precautionary scan in Bendigo. Just to make sure that there is nothing wrong with anything in his little head. I'm pretty sure we would know by now if there was. Hes such a happy little active boy, and been eating sleeping and feeding like a trooper.
The pead did have a look at him when we were in hospital, adn said he thinks there is no prob, but he decided to scna just in case. We go adn see the pead next weds for full details fo the results, but we should know pretty much today if there are any issues.
Anyway, hope ur all having a good day.
My MIL2B, and SIL2B came around before and did some housework for me. Was very nice of them, but makes me feel like I am a little incapable of doing things. Stupid proud brain of mine!! lol
well, time for a nappy change.
hugs to all:)
-
Nicky- Good luck with the weigh in and the scan. hope all is well
I know what you mean about help around the house- even though all the books say to accept all the help you can get, It eould make me feel so useless :(. Ohh to be proud... the dramas.....
Kaitlyn is stirring and I just put her down :( she been awake all day :(. i just want to sleep. oh will go and settle her down again. bbl

Hi all,
Sara, yeah, I'm biased but everyone keeps telling me his perfect, so what a mum to do?
I did ask about the amount we eat and the uality of the breast milk. I'm wondering if i where to actually go back to my pre prego diet, which wasn't much would xavier be deprived. I am actually still enjoying eating big meals, and still having an excuse.
Veronica, I hope it is just sticky eye, and it clears up soon.
Mel, you are a trooper!! I'm glad to hear charlize is feeling better now. It never feels nice when your all backed up.
Fran:clap::clap::clap: You did such a great job. I got about 3 hours in, felt like 10 and was like when will this be over!!! So going for so long. That goes for everyone that had a long labor. My hat goes off to you all.
Zofia, I hope the weighin went well. I'm sure Diana is growing like nobodies business. Your in NSW? maybe you could shed some light on Sara's predicament with MCHN.
Jan, without the heater our house gets probably as low as 5 at night. and the last 2 days the morning have been negatives, so I'm glad I got the panel heater out for him. But we can't have the normal heater on because it wreks havoc with both Nathan and I. It has worked out well just heating his room though. Means I am much more eager to get up and feed him, now that I have a chair in his room, and I don't wake Nathan up .
Tracey, poor little zyon. It must be heartbreaking to see him in so much discomfort.
Danielle don't stress about the cleaning. I've been planing to vacume for a week now. Might do it one day, might wait till next week when mums on holidays, she might do it for me
Nicki, who have you got for MCHN. I've been alocated to K Flat, and it is no where near me, so I'll be switching to annie galvin. Good luck with your scan, but I agree with you that I don't think they will find anything wrong with lachlan. As you mentioned he seems to be doing just fine. You mentioned MIL2b and SIL2b, does that mean you guys are planning something for the near future???
-
Hi girls
How are you all? Forgive my typing as I am also juggling a squirmy baby!!
mel - you are a super mum with trying to sell your house and look aftet Jack and Charlee!! Funny story about Charlee and her poop in the bath - yuck but cute!! So did you have many through for your open?
Zofia - how did the weigh in go? Did you end up getting the photos done of Diana? WE are getting some taken over the next few weeks by an Adelaide photographer who is just amazing - he did ones of both the boys and they look fantastic so I am looking forward to getting some done of Charlotte.
Nixky - how did lachlans scan go? Luck you you having MIL2b and SIL 2b do some cleaning!!
Fran - welcome home. I am looking forward to hearing yor birth story. Oh and I love the name Alessia- very pretty.
danielle - I second rebeccas comment about not stressing about the cleaning!! I had Oliver and Jesse in childcare today and had planned on cleaning the house but didtn do a thing apart from the dishes!!
Jan - did you manage to find an outfit for the wedding ooohh and I like the sound of your hot choc!!
Rebecca - I just realised you lived in Bendigo. My best friend lives there and is a nurse at the hospital. I was last there at the start of 06 for her wedding.
V - I hope Avaleighs eye has cleared up.
Me - Oliver and jesse were in childcare today so it was a very cruisy day. Although in saying that for some reason Charlotte picked today of all days to be a bit unsettled - but never mind better she do it today rather than a day when I am having to chase two little boys as well!!
DH has jsut gone to pick the boys up from childcare so I had better start preparing for the craziness that a day at childcare brings - eg 2 very tired boys.
Hi to everyone else.
Take care
Jem

Hi everyone...still haven't had a chance to read back on everything...everytime I get a chance to sit down, Alessia stirs. We had the worst night last night...she didn't sleep for more than 1 hour at a time (after being spoiled with 4-5 hour blocks before then) so I'm a bit zombie like today. The MHCN just rang to organise an appt to come over tomorrow - hopefully she'll give me some pointers on how to settle Alessia a bit better.
Just a quick Q - in your bub's first week, how many poos did they do? Alessia hasn't pooped since last night...she's had plenty of wet nappies but no poo in sight! :(
Okies...must be off to try and get some food in me...have lost all my appetite lately, but know I must eat to keep my breast milk up.
Hope all your gorgeous bubbas are doing well and talk soon! *hugs*
-
Hugs Fran I think we all know what it feels like to only get them to sleep for short amounts of time. I'd say that Kaetlyn was like that today, but she just wasnt sleeping at all.
A friend popped over, and kaetlyn finally fell asleep in her arms, so have left her in her rocker in the lounge room-asleep. Aaron wasnt at home today so I had to contend with her screaming by myself. I pulled the dummy out and tried again (previous attempts to settle with a dummy had failed) and it seemed to work, who knows how long for though.
It fell out when she was asleep- am i then ment to leave it out or try and put it back in? We dont really want her to have a dummy but if it works, we are willing to try it. Are there any tricks so she doesnt get to attatched to it?
About the poo's i cant remember how many she did in the first week, Aaron did most of nappy changes then, but I can tell you there have been a hell of a lot more since!!!!!
Rebecca- What you need to remember is that while PG and breastfeeding, all the important stuff - vitamins and minerals etc goes to the baby/milk first, rather than to you. I read in what to expect when your expecting that you can use this time to 'lose excess weight by eating less calories'. This is not a good idea as that means your little tike will be missing out on the good bits he needs (and so will you as well). Does this make sense?
Jemima and Mel - and anyone else with more than one child- hats off to you all- i dont kknow how you do it- and Dee you must be supermum and deserve something to be named after you with 5 offspring...
I found a link on the BB site and they are going to organise a meet-up out my way, so should be good. I just read a post and there is a girl that goes to the playgroup right across from my house. Its amazing to think how small the world really is!!!!
-
HI there everyone,
well looks like lachs brain is aok. His left ventricle is slightly larger than the right, but the docs said that if they were to scan all babaies, this would be the case in 2 out of every 10 kiddies. I knew he wwas fine. We still have a follow up appointment with pead next weds to fully dicuss everything.
Rebecca - I have been sent to The MCHN at the helen jessen centre... kennington creche. It's close, but probably not the closest, but I really like my nurse there.
Funny you say Annie galvin, as my mum works at occasional child care centre. I was thinking about transferring there, as I go and have lunch with mum pretty regularly. Might just leave as is for the moment though.
Well, speaking of MCHN, my 'little' puddin is little no more. Someone the other day said that newborns only last until 5kgs.... hmm.... Lach will not be a newborn after next tues I can guarantee that! hehe
He has put on 315grams in a week, and now weighs 4700g or 10lb5ounces!!!!!! holy cow!! He no longer fits in 0000.. although we only had 2 0000 outfits. He is almost too big for some of his 000 suits too!! He is going to be one big boy!!!
OH and the MIL2B and SIL2B.... I wish that meant something!! haha
although the other night Adam said he has seriously been thinking about it..... hehe
It will never happen!
well, going to get some sleep. catch u girls soon:)
Hugs

Nicky, good to hear all is well with little Lachlan.
Fran, I hope you have a better night tonight.
Jem, we had 8 groups go through on saturday and 2 took away contracts. But so far we haven't heard anything more. Apparently our agent has had a death in her family so she won't be back in the office until friday, which is a bain in the butt for us but I guess worse for her, just bad timing really. Fingers crossed it sells soon though, I don't know how much longer I can keep sane trying to keep the place neat, clean and tidy. The market is hot up here ATM, I'll just keep my fingers crossed. I hope you really enjoyed today alone with Charlotte. I mentioned to DH about me giving Charlee to my mum on fridays so I can catch up on house work, food shopping etc. and he wasn't thrilled. It really annoys me that he isn't supportive of me trying to have a break for a day, it makes me feel like I should be able to cope 24/7, it makes me feel sort of like I'm failing. I think if I mentioned day care he would chuck a wobbley. Sorry just venting:rolleyes:
Blueflower, believe it or not, the second is much easier than the first. I'm finding that I'm enjoying Jack being a newborn (well an infant now:redface:) much more than I did with Charlize. I'm just much more relaxed this time around, I have found getting into a routine much easier too. I didn't get into one with Charlize until she was about 3 months old. I'm sure you'll be just the same, when you have another. And about the dummy, Charlize still has one for sleeps, but I plan to have the tooth fairy take it when she turns 2;) Jack doesn't seem to like it much, but I find it helps to settle him when he has belly pains. I'm hoping though he doesn't get attached to it though, but not really concearned if he does.
Nicky, I can understand how your hormones play with your emotions. Mine are sometimes up and down like a brides nighty, they will settle soon though, then we might start to feel a little normal again:pray: Big yey on the house cleaning though.
Tracey, what happens at the kis ceremony? Is it like their christenings or similiar? Look like DH is more likely going to be sent to Nagoia (sp?) in Japan. Should be back christmas eve, I'm hoping anyway. How long will you be staying for?
Can you believe this, there has only been once that I have changed Jacks nappy when it hasn't had poo in it since he was born, unbelieveable hey:redface: Is there such a thing as a baby that poos too much?
-
Hi everyone
A bit of a selfish a post tonight as I have a baby on my breast, so can't type to comfortably...
Diana's weigh in went well today. She is 4.25kg and 55cm long. Unfortunately her sticky eye may be turning into conjunctivitis, as her eyelid looked a bit pink :( . Hopefully that was just from the washing and wiping we did that morning, but I am going to take her to the dr this week just to make sure. She is due for her vaccinations this week too. Eek.
The photo shoot went reasonably well, after a shaky start. Diana was really unsettled at first. I had to feed her twice. After the first feed she did a gigantic poop that leaked through her nappy, so we had to change her then and there . Luckily she was wearing dark coloured trousers so there was no visible stain. We are going to look at the proofs next week.
I don't know if I mentioned, but I put a few more photos up on Diana's website the other day. I have put her into a 000 suit today as she is getting a bit long for her 0000s. She is growing so fast.:D
Fran - welcome back. Hope you are enjoying Alessia. In the first week, after my milk came in Diana started pooping about 4-5 times a day. This increased in the next few weeks to about 10-12 poops per day. It is only recently (at about seven weeks) that she seems to be pooping slightly less often (maybe eight times a day). LOL, what a topic .
BTW - looking forward to seeing some pics of your gorgeous girl.
Sara - when Diana was first born one of the midwives at the hospital arranged for MCHN to pay us a home visit the next week. After that we went to the early childhood centre once a week for the first four weeks and once every two weeks since. Where abouts in NSW are you? Maybe I have a contact number somewhere that may be able to help you.
Nicki - glad to hear that Lachlan's appointment went well and that he is fine. :)
Good night everyone.
-
Hello everyone! Congratulations on all of your lovely little bundles of joy!:D Computer has been broken so I haven't been able to get on the net but all is good now :D I need to go through and find the updated list of bubbas! Will post later once I know more of whats happened lol
-
Hi everyone - sorry for the MIA, I have been around, just no where near as much as usual, and with 2 little boys running around and a bub in this tiny house, we are all going a bit loopy and counting down till we move! ( just over 5weeks)
Angus is brilliant at night, but pretty unsettled for large parts of the day, with huge amounts of wind pain at night, so that has been pretty time consuming as well.
I had to let him scream himself to sleep this morning, cause I was right in the middle of getting the boys breakfast etc ( 1 yo learning how to feed himself) and we are in a double storey house so even though I was going up to settle him, I had to give up in the end and he went off to sleep himself finally. I felt sooo bad.
Mel how exciting about putting your house on the market , I hated it when we did it, the poor kids could barely play with their toys before I was packign them up.
We will look at having another 1 (or maybe 2!!!) but not until these three are off to school. If I have another pregnancy I really want to enjoy it, not just survivie it.
Nicky - that is fantastic news about Lachlan, it must be a huge relief for you!
I promise to be alot better coming in here, especially once we move anbd I have space! lol
-
Hi All,
Not much to report, yesterday Georgie decided she didn't want to sleep but she wasn't unsettled, just awake from 9am-1.30pm. At 1.30 I decided to go for a walk which sent her to sleep. I'm afraid to say this because it will probably jinx me but she appears to know night and day coz she is sleeping and settling well at night (God I hope she has a good night tonight). Last night she went 4.5 hours between 1 feed which was very good for, maybe she was exhausted from not sleeping during the day.
To answer q bout pooey nappies. Every nappy change Georgie has a pooey nappy, I change her nappy at every feed so she is having (feeding 7-8 times per day).
