Hey girls, just a quick post to check in and say hi. I have a sick little boy on my hands at the moment. He has a bad cough :( and is not a happy camper. The last three days he has been pretty much permanently attached to my boob. Here I was whinging last week about being a bit frustrated with feeding but at times like this I am glad I'm still going.
Sacha - I don't know about teething causing bad breath but my Mum always said that when a child is getting sick you can tell because their breath will start to smell. Hope this isn't the case for Autie though!
Sarah - I have a climber here too. You might have read my post about calling the Ambulance when he fell face first off the couch. Wasn't fun. I recently had to move some of my furniture - coffee table, camphor chest, and the computer chair :wall: out into the garage because these were his favourite things to climb. I am hoping it passes for us all soon.
Emma - Hi! Byron Bay you lucky thing. I love the beach there. Do you live close to Byron?
Jan - How was your interview?
Ok, we aren't Thomas fans here yet but we LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba!!! ITNG was a favourite for a while but doesn't interest him at all anymore (can't say I mind lol) but mostly it's The Wiggles. He especially likes Geoff and him falling asleep.
Anyway, I think I'm off to bed after a bit of a look through the new posts. Crazy stalker here too. ;)
Have fun everyone.
Raels. xo

Emma, we have another one with a shoe fetish here! Any size, any kind - she will give it a go. "shoe" is one of her clearest words LOL Byron would have been a lovely way to spend the day. Haven't been there in ages, makes me want to plan a trip.
Raels, :comfort: for your poorly little man. It's hard for both of you when they're sick. I have heard of the bad breath=tummy problems, but it's been there for about a week or so now, and there's no sign of any illness, except teeth pain. I wondered if they are more susceptible to bacteria when the teeth are half in half out. She is good with letting me brush everyday though, so I'm hoping there's no decay happening.
Autie is a Hi-5 addict. She is constantly surprising me when I see her apparently paying no attention to the tv but is actually pulling out the right dance moves at the right time, while playing with something else. Hmmm, too much exposure maybe? LOL

I think my brain is fried, and we're only day one into the really horrid weather down here. I don't mind some heat, but 40+ is awful. And Liam hasn't slept at all today, we went down to my sister's place and there was just too much to do, no chance of getting him to sleep until I put him into the car to come home, and of course now we're home he's got a second wind.
Emma M - byron sounds lovely, in fact it sounds particularly lovely today! the wedding day is the 8/8/09, so a few months to go yet. I'm just trying to get organised so I get first choice on everyone/thing that I'd like - ie the florist, dj, photographer, venue, & Makeup artist. Don't want much really ;)
Raels - poor little man being sick, I hope he gets better quickly for you. It is lovely to see your "mood" though, I hope that it lasts a really long time.
Sarah - i read your post, but due to aforementioned Brain fry, I can't remember much, and it's now a page behind, so if I check it then I'll probably lose this post, and I'm too lazy (but honest at least) to type it all again. We have a climber here too, like a few people the dining room table is a particular favourite. It freaks DF out more than me, I'm a bit more relaxed about it mostly. It freaks me out more that I think that if he were to get out the front door without me noticing & the front gates weren't shut that I'd lose him, cos he just goes. So I have no suggestions either.
Sacha - the shoe fetish thing isn't just for girls apparently. Liam thinks it's the greatest fun to put on either my or DF's shoes, all the while saying 'Soos, soos, soos".
Okay, so some good-ish news I think - I had the interview with the recruitment agency last friday, which seemed to go well, then she called me yesterday at about 10.30 to ask if I could meet with the company, so I met them at 2pm yesterday, that went well, so I'm going back in on Friday to meet with a couple of the people that I'd be working with, and I think it's more of a "let's explain your job to you" thing, plus they're checking references (hope I paid enough ;)), so I think I might be employed again soon, like about Monday. Which would be unreal, and my first "present" to myself will be just getting the invites done at the place I went to last week that I liked. Not the cheapest, but they're what I'd really like, and I suspect that I'll pay the premium to get them to do everything. And hey, sometimes a girl has to spoil herself.
I'd better get off here & go and be tough mum - someone is completely playing around in his cot, and it's not DF. Could be a long night.
Hi to everyone else that I've missed, I'll put in a better effort next time.
-
Oh Jan - that sounds promising! Good luck. Far too hot to type anything else - sorry girls. Brain meltdown..
-

Im a lil scared to walk out my front door as we had a Brown Snake in a fire wood pile at the front door yesterday and FIL went thro the pile looking for it to kill it and it dissappreaed so now i DONT know where its gone... HOPEFULLY long gone and it never returns....
Bayleigh decided to start shaving last night he has taken the shin off his cheek near his mouth there was soooo much bloody he freaked out...
He had his needles on tuesday and he DIDNT cry for the first time.. He kjust looked at the nurse and gave her a dirty look and rubbed his arm LOL it was very cute.. He has his MCHN appt on tuesday..
Well must go to the shops before it gets any hotter out there
Have a good day ladies hope everyone is well

Sarah - we use time out in regards to Tom's hitting (yes he's one of 'those kids' at the moment ) and it works. At the moment we just have to say 'Do you want to spend some time in your room?" and he stops. If he does need to go into time out, we put him in his bedroom for 1 minute exactly (although it feels longer) and when he comes out we have a bit of quiet time explaining what he has done, then have a little cuddle. It seems to work well. His hitting has really stopped, except in moments of extreme frustration. Good luck with your brown snake - I was freaking out when I read it on FB!

Hi everyone!!!
Sorry I haven't been in much, I don't have alot to add and I am trying to stay as cool and rested as possible.
Lachie had his 18mth appt yesterday, and everything is going really well. He put on 2.5kgs in weight, 8.5cms in height and 2cms in head circumference in 6 months which I was quite impressed with. Just glad I have a child that is FINALLY over 10kgs. haha No idea if his gains were by any means 'awesome' but for him they were;)
Hope you are all coping in this heat if you are affected. It's not a nice thing to go through especially pregnant and still being sick everyday, but I can't complain... it's all for a good cause.

I'm back......................
Had a lovely time away, but missed the kids too much. Won't be going anywhere without them for a long long time. We are going away up the coast for 2 night with them next month, so can't wait to enjoy the beach with them.
What been happening around here? Behaving I hope.
I must go, I got he carpets downstairs cleaned this morning and I should probably go bring everything in from ourside before I get some lovely help ;)

Hi everyone, I've managed to go, ooh, about 3 days without posting I think, that's a first for a while. For all those in Vic & any SA girls (although I don't think we've got any SA's), hope your a/c's have been working okay, and that you've been lucky & not lost power for too long. It's been just awful. I've lost so many plants, it's really sad, they're just burnt to, well, dead twigs.
Mel - could you send me some of your cleaning vibes, my house is in desperate need of a clean up, but I have no enthusiasm/energy
Lis - lovely to hear from you, glad all is going well with Olivia, fingers crossed you find a house soon. Where are you looking?
Nicky - way to go with Lachie cracking the 10kg mark. I don't envy you at all being pg at the moment, the weather where you are is even more disgusting than Melbourne, at least the last couple of days down here have been a vast improvement.
Sarah - oh no for the snake, that's a horrible thing to have so close to your house. I don't hate snakes but I certainly don't want them anywhere near my home. I have an Aunt & Uncle who live on a farm, snake went into a woodpile (many years ago now), so the woodpile got burnt. No one knows if the snake got out or not, but at least there was no woodpile for it to hide in. Good luck with Bayleigh's MCHN appnt on Tuesday.
Well, had the job interview, which went well, just waiting for confirmation that it's all systems go, which depends on the client approving the additional charges for my contribution, but they seem to think that this will be fine. I'm a pragmatist though - won't believe it until I see the contract.
Anyway, gotta get off hear & go to bed. Am spending the day tomorrow with a girl that I was friends with when I was 9, who only lived here for a year, then went back to the UK. We've met a couple of times since in our early 30s', and it's one of those easy & enjoyable friendships. She & her DH & 2 kids have been travelling in Aus & NZ since December, which would be fabulous in one way, but so hard with a 3yo & a 17mo at times. Anyway, that's my day tomorrow, so better get my beauty sleep in.
Hope everyone is good & happy.

Hi everyone,
Happy Birthday V!! Just a really quick one for me...I've become practically useless at posting properly in here!
Noah went into a big bed last monday and he is doing soooooooooo well...just sleeps as usual and knocks on the door to come out when he wakes up! I have 10weeks4days until I am due!! Can't believe how quick it has gone and I know it will seem like the blink of an eye until this baby is born!!
-
Hello everyone! Jas and Lis - it's so nice to hear from you both! Big belly rubs to you Jas. How cute that Noah knocks on his door! Tom would be doing it at 3am if I put him into a big boy bed :).
Hi Jess! HOpe you and your gorgeous boys are well. It was lovely to hear from you too. I absloutely hate losing posts.. must be even more frustrating for you! How is Ethan settling into the role of big brother?
Good luck with the househunting Lis. Fingers crossed the perfect one is just around the corner.
Jan - how's the job news? Hope you had a lovely day with your friend. What a nice friendship. How's the wedding action?
Well, as usual not too much to report here. Tom is talking so much more every day and extremly cheeky. We spend most of out time with our faces hidden in pillows trying not to laugh at him, because he can be naughty and loves an audience. Still haven't had needles or MHN checkup - I finally got off my lazy bum and booked in for next wk.
My day today will be spent on the phone with our insurance camera. Tom dropped DH's camera into the dog's water bowl.. $800 dead. Not sure if I can claim anything for it but going to try! Grrrr.. It was sort of my fault. We were with friends and the camera was on the table - then splash. Apparently (according to DH) I should of been watching, but boy he's fast! I just related back to the night he threw my hair straightener (unplugged) into the bath on whicle DH was meant to be watching

Hi, I got a job, I got a job, I got a job!!!!! And it's a good one too, not just cos it's so much closer to home, right opposite Doncaster Shoppingtown, and I have a desk with a view, but because it's a real career type job, which I never thought I'd be able to find when I was just working part time. The only potential downside is that I will have to travel to Sydney occasionally, which is nothing against Sydney, cos I lived there for 7 years and really like the place, but more because of the organising to get Liam dropped off & picked up from daycare. But we'll work that out I'm sure. I shared a bottle of champagne with my sis & neighbour, and felt so smashed after 1 and a bit glasses that I had to stop. Which was a real shame, cos I was really enjoying it. Probably hit me because I didn't eat lunch, so was pretty starving by the time I got home.
Anyway, other than that it's been a quiet day. Liam climbed/fell out of his cot cos his stupid mother was putting him in to sleep (ha, as if), didn't put the side out, then stepped away to get his teddy from his daycare bag, and bump, turned around & there he was on the floor. Unhurt, so a lucky escape. He's been really clingy all day, even before his little adventure, and BFing every single chance he can get, so I'm a bit over it atm. He's going through a phase of falling asleep on me, then screaming for ages when I put him into his bed. It's very tiring, and we hope that he gets over it really soon. Like tomorrow, would be good.
Em - oh no for the camera, although I like your comeback for your DH, it's always handy to have those up a sleeve ;)
Jas, lovely to hear from you, glad it's all going well. Can't believe you're in your 3rd Tri - the weeks just go so quickly, although with all this hot weather you're maybe thinking not quick enough.
Hi to everyone else
-
Congrats Jan! Well done xx
-
Oh Jan, I have had a fear of Autie falling out of her cot since she could stand! She's so short, I'm sure she'd land on her head! Don't feel bad, I do stoopid mummy things all the time. I accidently gave Autie a slight chinese burn today while helping her to stand up... I got the most ****ed off look.
Congratulations on your job! How great that it's one you're super happy with too! What will you be doing exactly? on the barnacle baby - could he be teething? If in doubt, dose 'em up, that's my motto LOL
Em, I've been slack too, with the shots, but we are booked in for tomorrow. Sorry to hear of the sad demise of your camera - reminds me of that ad with the big slobbery dog that gets the camera. Know the one? It's gross. Is it covered on your house insurance?
Jas, wow, that time has gone super fast! You must be getting very excited. That's great that Noah has adjusted to his big bed so well, one less thing to worry about.
Jess, nice to know you're still here. How is everything going with your 3 boys?
Lis, good luck with your house hunting. Glad to hear Olivia is still giving you so much joy. Saw some lovely photos on FB btw.
Nicky, sending you lots of 'feel better' vibes. It's alright if you want to complain a bit. I'm pretty sure I would be!
Sarah, hope the snake has moved far, far away. I would have to make Dan search until he found it if there was one here. If I know there's a spider somewhere and it's run away, I have a compulsion to search til I find it and get it outside (or in the bin more often these days) How is Bayleigh's face?
Mel, good to hear you had a nice time away. I understand how much you must have missed the kids but at least you gave it a go. Won't be long until all our little toddies are teenagers and refuse to go on family holidays.
Hi Raels and Megan :hello: What's going on with you guys?
I don't really have any interesting news from us. We are thinking of moving to a bigger house in about a year so now I've lost all enthusiasm for the plans we have for this house. I'm ready to move now so I can have fun doing up a room for Autie and maybe one for #2. And dreaming of how much joy I'll get from organising storage space properly! (I know, I'm pathetic )
Ok, I'm off to search for a sweetie treatie.
-
Damn lost my post!!
Mel - thanks for the anniversary message and I hope you had a great one also! We just went out to tea with some friends and their girls.
Jas - I can't believe you have 10 weeks left, it feels like its going so fast!! That is great Noah is in a bed also, is it a big bed?
Jan - congrats on the job!! What are you doing?
Em - good luck with the needles! Olivia had a little reaction to it a few days after - high temp and got a spotty rash all over her! She is ok now, but it was scary!
Ok need to have a cry....well I did just before!! I feel like a failure lately, Olivia just won't eat anythign I give her for dinner besides pasta!! TOnight we had a stew and I picked her up to put her in her chair, she looked over to the bench saw what it was and just screamed and screamed!! She just won't have anything and I am at boiling point. I just don't know what to do anymore?? She eats all good stuff during the day, I don't fill her up but come dinner and NUP! I don't know what else I can do :( DH got home just in the middle of my cry....I had put Olivia on the floor crying, she kept coming up to me trying to get on my knee and I was telling her no....I felt so mean. I just feel guilty cause she is not having a good nutrious meal.
