Thanks for the heads up Jasmine
Anyone else had trouble with stuffy noses that aren't colds? I feel like Autumn has had one for ever but nothing I try seems to help.
Re the 3 month changes - she's been doing weird things with feeds and sleeps too, I didn't make the connection.
-
Thanks for your comments everyone on the site. I had lots of fun with it.
Jas, can't wait until you and DH decide to try for #2.
Jem, any new shots of the boys and charlotte you can download????? In your spare time, he he he!!!!! What is that she asks!!!!!!
Relle, have fun tonight, when is your client due?
Hi to everyone else.

Sacha, have you tried Little Fess? I bought some for Jack and Charlee when they had a stuffy runny nose with their cold. It worked wonders. It comes with a nasal aspirator, that sucks all the crap out after you use the drops, or you can use BM if your BF. It works a treat, and it's amazing to see so much come out, you start to wonder how someone so little can produce so many goobers, he he he!!!
-
Mel - is the Little Fess saline? Because I did try that and the BM also (got a look of complete astonishment from her for that one - like 'mum, you're putting it in the wrong place) but haven't had any luck making it come out at all. I have tried two kinds of aspirator without success. One time, she sneezed some to the front of her nostril and I never thought I'd move so fast to dig in someone's elses nose with my own fingernail

LOL @ sacha and autumn with the look of astomiashment.
Thanks for the info with the 12 week change- what would explain her feeding frequently and sleeping patterns changed a bit.
I am just home from lunch  my aunty asked me to stay for dinner- and aaron is at work tongiht so it beats frozen pizza
Will be back later- have things to do!!!!

Hi Everyone!
So much to catch up on!
Sacha ~ Big special welcome to you! I’m glad you decided to join us! I saw a post by another July mum in a thread I replied too, must go back and invite her to join us too! I also had an emergency c/s so now I’m not the only one here.
Tears ~ How FREAKY! This happened to me once too years ago so I know what its like. I was standing in the kitchen and I had to put my arms out to steady myself. It was from a sonic boom apparently. My boy is a catnapper during the day also, makes it hard to get anything done doesn’t it! I feel so guilty on the days when DP gets home and the house is a disaster zone!
Jas ~ What a cutie!! Love the pics!
Mel ~ Good luck for your appointment today. Hope your mum will come and stay with you, where would we be without them! Also the site looks great, I should get myself one too.
Becca ~ It must be weird for you to be feeding at 2.30am as Xavier has been such a champ for you with sleeping through the night. Maybe it’s a growth spurt thing as I think they have one at 3 months old, which is fast approaching. Hope you are feeling better.
Jemima ~ Glad to hear you are feeling better, sounds like you are doing an amazing job with the three kids. It’s good to hear your pros and cons on what its like having them close in age. Mum worked out today that if I fell pregnant now they would be 11 months apart eek! DP and I have been slack in the contraception department, too many opps moments, one smack bang this month on day 14 of my cycle…
Ngala ~ Glad to hear your doggy has returned safe and sound after his adventures! What kind of dog is he?
Star ~ Hope Diana takes to sleeping in her beautiful new cot!
Blue ~ Good luck with the nappy making, I made some for Lucas but he grown out of them now! Don’t know if I’ll find the time to make some more!
Flossie ~ Lucas sort of giggles, but it’s also a bit of a gurgle too so it’s hard to tell sometimes. He is such a cheeky little man! So jealous of your weight loss BTW! I put on 21 kg and now my weight seems to have frozen on 64kg. I can’t figure it out as I was 64kg when I left the hospital but I’ve obviously lost a lot of weight since then??? It’s so weird!
Fran ~ Lucas is really vocal too especially if he is grumpy! He has said ‘Da’ twice too!
Tracey and Relle ~ Welcome back!
Well we had fun last weekend. The girls night out was great on Friday. We had a bbq with the boys here at home then went out dancing. Lucas slept for most of the time I was out so it was an easy one for DP. We were going to go to the beach on Saturday but we slept in then just lazed around watching dvd’s between people dropping in all day.
Lucas is good, slept well last night after a shocker the night before. I was sooo tired yesterday! Opps spoke to soon he has decided to wake up so better run, have a great day everyone!
Love August x

hehehe! just changed his bum and tucked him in bed with his dad! We still have his cot in our room after having visitors on the weekend so must move it back into his room today, thing is we have to take it apart to get in through the doorways!
Nay ~ I just realised it was you, I've replied to you over in the premmie mums thread how is Linkoln going? How much does he weigh now? Did you come to any conclusions about PROM?
August xx

Hi all
Tracey Welcome Back.
Relle, nice to know your still around.
Mel, you have been busy. Not only wil jack be as big as charlize soon, he's going to have more pics than her
Sascha lol on the snot comments. the places a mum will put her fingers huh? Xavier had a really snotty nose for the first few weeks. luckily he is a champion sneezer and every time he did a big sneeze big goobers would come out and I I just had to catch them with a spew rag before he sniffed them back in. I was lucky though as well he decided that he had too much milk in his mouth and would snort it out his nose. He did all the hard work for me.
A M M So far the 2.30 wake up has been a once off.
Thanks for talking about this 12 weeks change. It's not happening here yet, but at least I can expect it now. And gosh darn it if I wasn't just getting him to sleep during the day a little now. It will probably all fly out the window.
well best keep doing things while he is sleeping. I might only have 30 mins of peace.

Morning All.
Just a quick one as i didnt get back last night- was so tired i went streaight to bed after Kaetlyns feed.
I am about to go out again  seems that is all I do these days. I am meeting the local Breastfeeding group for a 'mums and bubs chat and play' session, so should be interesting- I have never been to one before. Not sure If i am nervous or excited???
Sacha- Welcome to our lovely thread, and yes we are a chatty bunch (as you can see we are up to thread 6 already- i think we have lapped some of the earlier months).
Tear and August- I know what you mean about the cat napping- somedays i feel like she hasnt slept at all. At least she sleeps in the night - hopefully your bubs do as well. Normally when she is sound asleep at night i run around the house doing a quick tidy up ... ready for the next day.
Tracey- welcome back, cant wait to hear about it!
Well gotta run and hang the washing out beofre she wakes up to go

Just a quick post to let you all know that I have finally posted my birth story if any of you want to check it out!

Hi All!!
WOW its been busy in here the past few days. I tell you what, I am sooooo busy these days with Avaleigh, wedding, gym and walking the dogs. I barely get any time to myself!! Avaleigh is sitting up on my lap at the moment while I type, so cute! She is sooo good at hold her head now. When she is in the pram she tries to sit up by herself!
We are going in for her 2 months shots today - finally!! Ahhh! Not looking forward to it but I bet she will be very very brave! Does anyone know where the shots get put in??? So I can dress her for easy access!
-
thanks evryone for your help i guess i will just keep trying to get him into a routine :)
august_moon_mum hi thanks for your reply my DS is doing great and has put on heaps of weight! We are just doing some getting to know each other at the moment its a lot harder than i thought it would be!
take care all

Hey V, glad to hear your going hard at the gym and walking too. Both my two had their 2 month shots in their legs, 2 needles in 1 leg and 1 in the other. Sounds bad, but it is all over and done with in a second or two. And it's nothing a booby can't fix he he he
We ladies, I had my specialist appointment today. And the result is not good but it at least gives me hope my ankle will be usable again. I have to go in for an operation on the 15th of next month. I will be on crutches constantly for 3-4days after the op, and then occassionally for the next 2 weeks. The procedure the reckon is reletively simple, they make small cuts around my ankle go in with a camera takes photos, access the damage, then repair the necessary points. So, although I have to have an op, the chances of them improving my mobility and use of the ankle will increase by 90%, which is promising, since I haven't been able to do really anything on it the last few years. And I want to be able to get back into shape sooner rather than later and that will involve alot of cardio work that I wouldn't be able to do now. And it's only day surgery too, so in at 7am and should be out by 3pm. Just have to start expressing now, for the day. My boobies will be huge by the time I leave to hospital. Might take in my pump to attack them while I wait and just after I come to. Anyway will be interesting to see how I go. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing. Especially with how I'm going to cope once I'm home. eekkk!!!
Anyway back later, I have a little girl wanting my attention.
-
Thanks for the welcomes guys, you surely are a friendly bunch :)
Mel, sorry to hear you have to have an op. :( It's great that you can express for it though, I have never had any luck with that. :goodluck:
August, I would like to hear about your CS if you are open to it. Has your scar healed ok? I still have to cover mine as all my clothes seems to rub right on it... so frustrating.
Does anyone use Grobags? I love that the little unit can't kick it off, and she seems to feel more secure in it, but it's already getting so warm. Was wondering if anyone has come across a super light version?
-
Hi everyone
Sacha - I have recently started putting Diana in a grobag as she was kicking all her blankets off. They come in several warmths/thicknesses, with one that has a 0.5 tog rating (whatever that means?) that can be used in tempertatures upwards of about 26 degrees. The one I have has a 1.0 tog rating (I think), which is supposed to be used in cooler temperatures. So I might need to get another one for summer.
Veronica - the two month shots go into the baby's thighs (well, that's where Diana got hers), so make sure you dress Avaleigh in something with easy access to her legs.
Mel - all the best for your operation. Hope they can fix your ankle and that you recover quickly. Also, I echo everyone else in saying that your site looks great. You have two very cute kids. :)
Nay - glad to hear that your bub is doing well. Diana was a premmie too (born at 35 1/2 weeks), but has been doing really well too.
Rebecca - LOL at "dad" dressing. I remember once when I let Stan dress Diana he put her in a bright pink hat, a pale pink and white striped top and red and dark blue striped leggings (which were WAY too big for her at the time). Ever since, I have been picking Diana's clothes and leaving them out for him to put on her...
Jessikah - how scary about the earthquake. When I was living in New Zealand, we would get earthquakes quite often, but they were still scary. Glad that you and Ethan are okay.
Hi to everyone else.
Well, I am really tired today. I am supposed to be writing my essay (last one for the year - yay), but Diana decided that she didn't want to go to bed tonight and wanted to play instead. She is sitting in my lap now and seems to have fallen asleep, so I dare not make any sudden moves. :p
I ran out of expressed milk yesterday, so was expressing most of the day and night to build up a supply. Very exhausting and kind of annoying when I saw how little I got. :( But my supply seems better today, so hopefully I can replenish the EBM over the weekend.
-
Sacha, I haven't seen them at a shop before. But I have seen them in a booklet I got from a store called Brisbane Bubs. They are the same thing, just made from a lighter material. Maybe have a look on their website??????? Thanks for your thought about my future surgery, fingers crossed I'll be able to express enough, I too have some difficulty with expressing.
Zofia, thanks for your comment on my site. I love to fiddle with things like that. And thanks for calling our kids cute. It's always nice to hear someone say nice thins about your babies. They break my heart everytime I look at them, but I'm a little biast. Good luck with the last essay. How much more study do you have left? And what are you studying?
-
Zofia - the bag I have is the .5 tog and there have already been nights when I just can't put her in it. I'm thinking it's just not possible to use one in a Qld summer... unless there is a lighter one from a different maker.
-
Zofia, I just went to see Diana in your site, but I can't seem to open it, it keeps failing. It's probably just my stupid computer playing up again :( I bet she is still adorable though:)
