Maya: I've been having mild aches and pains too and I thought it was a sign of age! And yes, Niall is demand feeding so much lately, especially at night, almost every 2 hours :( I think I need to increase his solids. And yes, usually I like his feeding but lately it's been making me feel so chaffed. Because Wade still clambours all over me during the day I just get too much of a good thing somedays... I just want some space! Oh well at least I can mentally veg out... *sending essay inspiration your way* !
-
Maya - will check out the local rag, pity you don't get a picture too!!!
Rory - have fun in Canberra, sounds like you've planned it well with plenty of stops. Unfortunately, me and camping don't go, I can't stand it. Bit of a snob when it comes to where I sleep and shower lol!!!! Fingers crossed for lovely weather.
Bath - sorry to hear you are not yourself. I'm had to absolutely PML about the CBF's!!!!! Our receptionist wondered what I was laughing about - oh nothing I told her!!!! I am going to use that saying now. I have a case of them frequently. Regarding time away, DH and I do so many separate things due to his work hours and limited babysitters. Something I am very used to now after 14 years together. He would never organise anything though, I always do! The ferry was so good, I want to do it again but from Sorrento to Queenscliff this time. Could you and DH go out and you organise a babysitter? I would be happy to come and look after your little brood and let you and DH have a night out. We all need a bit of time away from the house and kids. I am a cold fish and love my electric blanket, DH hates it and is very warm and toasty. Totally opposite to you. While we were away, we had a queen bed + single in our room, DH had to sleep on the single Saturday night as he was so restless and snoring his head off. I needed him as far away as possible!!! It must be so frustrating for you but I agree that having a nights sleep on your own is bliss! I love when DH is on night shift and I get a whole 7 days of hogging whatever part of the bed I like. I keep thinking of your saying "this too will pass"! We might have to give it a name like Baths Law or Baths Theory? Seriously though, I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight and tomorrow is a new day, hopefully a better one than today.

CBF! I like that, im gonna have to use that too now Bath thanks hehe!
Mel- glad your w/e went well too
Ali- i still would have eaten your merange!
Last night dh & i took up prob our last opp in a long time to go out together childless! Cause Today is my last wednesday at work and from next week i am just doing 1 day a week for 4 weeks. Mum had Nix so we went to dinner and sat in a lovely possy inside but with bi-fold windows opened up and looking straight at the moon! It was great to see but didnt go as red out our way that i thought it would.
Then we went to the movies but i was so uncomfortable through out it i wanted to be home in bed.
My OB appoint went well yesterday BP still good as is fluid around powpow, placenta etc.
I bought a book on hypno birthing yesterday, i know i am going to be monitored etc for risk of uterine rupture etc when trying for my vbac so not going to be going totally natural and i may even opt for gas if i think i need it but i just think it will be a good read to help me prepare for labour.
Nixon is so cheeky these days if he takes something that he knows he isnt suppose to ie: my mobile, tv remote, he will show it to you and then run off with it!
hope everyone is well, Rory hope you have a fab time sounds lovely!

Maya - raced to get my paper out of the letterbox this morning to see the big front page article. Good comments you made, hopefully the EI doesn't get into Melb. Pity they didn't do a photo!
Bath - how is today treating you? Did you get a decent nights sleep last night?
Nic - your dinner sounds beautiful, pity about the moon. I couldn't see it either, far too cloudy. What movie did you see? The movies aren't the most comfy places for a pregnant lady, no room to stretch. You might have to sneak a session at gold class. Nixon is cheeky! Marley hasn't got to the running stage yet, but I am sure that will come soon. Great news at your ob appointment - things are progressing really well for you, you must be so pleased.
Chelsea had kinder photos today so I took her up to get them done. The same company who did them last year and they were fantastic. MIL wanted to come and do her hair for me (she is obsessed with doing hair!!!), so she did lovely pigtails which looked very cute. Chelsea was like a supermodel pulling all these poses out - photographer was killing himself laughing. Not much prodding needed lol! He took one with Marley as well but she wouldn't give him a smile, Miss Serious giving him the evil stare! Hope they still look nice, I don't have many of them together as Marley won't keep still long enough.
Melb girls, what a beautiful day today, keep the sunshine coming! :)
-
Hi ladies, Hey Bath I can see you! lol
Well, its Wednesday night and I'm home again by myself while DH is playing poker.....I'm bored, need someone to talk to!
What's new here! Nothing much, just plodding along, pat is walking trying to keep up with his siblings, I have some photos...better upload them, they are of the kids book week costumes. It took one night to figure out how to turn satin sheets into a dress, without cutting the sheets, and how to turn a black sheet into a zorro costume.

Hi girls, another hectic week in the Smith household ( I am beginning to realise that life with children is always hectic, I cant imagine what it will be like with 2 ;) ).
I think that I have gotten to the bottom of what is wrong with Tori, the poor little monster is cutting Molars and I hadnt realised until I had to fish something she shouldnt have been eating out of her mouth, and I found a new sharp thing sticking through the gum. I didnt realise that they cut molars before canines.
Jess- Great to hear from you, I would love to see some pics of your kiddies costumes, I cant wait until Tori is at school and starts doing all those things.
Nic- Good to hear that you and DH had an opportunity to spend some quality time together. DH and I are going to Cirque De Soliel on 15th Sept and Tori is having her first sleep over at Mum and Dad's, so we are going to treat ourselves to a night in a hotel in the city.
Bath- I have CBF days all the time, especially when there is housework to be done ;)
Mel- Great to hear you guys had a nice weekend. Glad that Chelsea enjoyed having her photo taken. Tori is such a poser already, as soon as she hears the camera switch on she is posing, such a Dag.
Maya- Good luck with the assignments. I have to say really miss doing assignment, I really enjoy studying, but I dont know that I would have the time/energy to do it at the moment.
Rory- I hope you guys are enjoying yout road trip!
I am off for my next hospital appointment on Monday, getting all my 24 week blood test done, most importantly checking for antiodies ( I am o- and DH is A+ and Tori is O+) plus my anti D injections etc. I cant beleive this pregnancy has gone so fast just 16 weeks to go (you know girls that means only 16 weeks & 5 days to christmas :P ).

Well I've been MIA for the last week with really bad tonsilitis and then Cody got it as well. I've also been organising Kailen's birthday this Sunday, we're having a small party on Saturday. I made him some cupcakes for school today (there's some pics in the gallery). I'm also making him a skateboard cake as his birthday pressie is a skateboard, I'll put some pics in the gallery either on the weekend or Monday.
Other exciting news, DH and I have decided that we will be TTC as of now, something that is very exciting.
How did everyone go with the full moon the other night, I think it affected my mood something shocking, I was a real b!tch to DH for no reason at all, I apoligised the next day.
Ali Cody also cut his molars before his canine, it just depends on what there little teeth do, each child is different.
Mel hopefully the pics of Chelsea and Marley turn out, Lockie also has his kindy pics next week so hopefully they will turn out alright too.
Rory I hope that your road trip and camping are going well.
Hello Bath, Maya, Nic and Jess.
hugs xoxo
-
Jess - I am not looking forward to costume making! I am crap at it!!!!
Ali - at least you have an explanation. I hate it when they are not themselves with no reason. I have been trying to see if Marley is cutting any but everytime I try to stick my fingers in, she bites them!!! Gotta love the posers! Wow, the pregnancy is flying along? Did you end up sorting out the name dilemma? I noticed your previous thread about it. Thanks for the reminder about Xmas, scary!!!
Amanda - hope you and Cody are feeling better, esp if you are having a party. Will check out the cupcakes and can't wait to see the skateboard - you are very clever. Good luck with the party tomorrow, I hope Kailen has lots of fun. Saw nothing of the moon, too cloudy and DH wasn't home, so no one to get cranky at LOL!!! How exciting TTC! Hopefully some good news in the coming months.
Horrid, cold day in Melb today, nothing like yesterday. Chelsea had her Fathers Day b'fast at her school today and DH was able to go. She was very excited about it and woke up early to go. I then went shopping for Fathers Day pressies and some birthday pressies as we have 2 b'days over the weekend. Found flannelette sheets at Target for $11 (double bed size) so bought Chelsea one, they are the extra thick plush ones and feel so comfy! Kids 1st walker sandals also on sale and very cute - leather for $12.99. Going out for dinner with some friends tonight, DH was supposed to come but he had to change his shift to go the Chelseas b'fast so couldn't go to dinner. Oh well, I am very used to going out solo!!!! Chinese, so should be yum!
Hi to everyone else and hope you all have a good night :)
-
Amanda- Great to hear from you, you guy havent had a very good run with sickness, hopefully once the warms up everyone willbe much better. Maybe you should go into business making bday cakes, you are very good. Congrats on the TTC.
Mel- Is great to DH was able to make it to Chelsea's fathers day breakfast, she must have been so excited. As for names we are still torn between Liam James and Hamish William, I guess it is good to keep your options open.
I have to have a little woohoo, Tori is getting so clever, she just saw a picture of herself on my screen saver and looked, then pointed to herself and said me! Then the other day she did a huge burp, looked at me, smiled and pointed to herself and said me! Such a clever cookies.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, I am off for Mexican tonight with a couple of the BB girls!

Hi All
still having a wonderful holiday in blighty although we leave 2 weeks today which is sad. Oscar has got so attached to my mum and dad he has been crying for them quite often since we left them. We spent a gorgeous 3 days up in Scotland with James' 90 year old gran and drove all across the highlands, stopping off for a pub lunch at Applecross and had the most wonderful smoked salmon ever. We are now in Norfolk with the in laws and it is going well so far. This trip has been so good for Will as before he was so clingy and wouldn't be held by anyone except James and myself and now that he has had to deal with so many other people he is now quite good at going with other relies and friends for a cuddle or play. Oscar has been in heavan since we arrived here on the farm as he is really into tractors and yesterday we went out to where james' dad was doing some combining and he let us all have a go in the cab with him. james went in with Osc and said he was transfixed - he hasn't stopped playing with the toy one since. I went in with Will and he really liked it too. Lots of lovely pickies of them with animals too. Spending some nice times with their cousins aged 6 and 3 and they all get on well.
Will's chest still isn't clear but he doesn't have a temp and seems fine within him self so hopefully he'll get better soon. Thankfully the nappy rash cleared up quick. He walked loads last weekend when i had great friend stay for a few days who had a little girl who was 6 weeks younger but walking really well and i think by the 3rd day he'd been watching her he thought he could do it and did and was walking about 20 steps. It's dropped off abit since we went up to Scotland as Scotty Gran's house was so not child friendly that we couldn't really let him wander much - think boiling to touch Raeburns and radiator (she has Raynard's so heating on all year round - even the summer - phew!).
I've put on at least half a stone since i got here as mum and dad have done lots of kid wrangling and have fed me so much cake and chocolate that lots of my clothes are getting tight! I will have to e more active when i get home. We also had an email from the builders saying that the tiles should be on the roof of our house in the next 2 days so that is exciting.
Mmm my last post was abit dodgy - hidden under a towel and abit merry after a fair bit of sparkling wine with my mum. Have had a few more nights out with my friends but nothing major - do have a big one planned for the last Thursday before i leave as i pointed out we haven't been to Rock City (night club place that we have been going to for nearly 20 years - but another strictly jeansy type place) for years so we are going and they are going to take the Friday morning off work. Better not post on returning from that night out! Got to get my two years worth of night outs with friends in the time we are here!
I'm annoyed with myself as i bought James a nice little photo frame from the kids for him for father's day but then left it at my parents so won't be able to give it to him until next week.
Anyway, better get off to bed as it's 11.35pm which is far too late to be still up. It's been nice to pop in here and read how you are all getting on - will hopefully get some time for personals later.
Take care
Julie xxxx

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE JUNIE DADS!
Ali - I like both the boys names but its nice to have a few choices. Tori is a clever girl. I get really no words from Marley other than baby babble. Can't wait for some words to start. Hope you night out with the BB girls was fun.
Julie - only 2 more weeks, thats a bit sad for you. Oscar might want you to buy a tractor for you new house lol!! I am sure James won't be upset about the frame, its a lovely present and doesn't matter when he gets it. I want to see and read more drunken, late night posts - very funny!!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
DH is working this morning so kids haven't seen him for Fathers Day. Chelsea rang him and wished him a Happy Fathers Day which he was stoked about. He should be home about 3pm so he can open his pressies and then we are off to my dads for an early dinner.
I hope all the dads enjoy being spoilt on Fathers Day :)
-
happy Fathers day to all the daddys!
Happy Birthday Keilan, i hope the party went well Amanda
Ali- thats so cute Tori saying me hehe!
-
Hi all - back from our big trip :) All well with us but I have heaps to catch up on at work (will try and pop in later though) and surprisingly house is not completely bomb-like) - I tried to clean up heaps before we went away.
Bath I bought a book which I am reading ATM which I will lend you - it's called "The Mommy Myth" and it talks about how the media/society have put women into this impossible position where we have the right to "choose" to be a SAHM in this "post feminist" (huh!) era, but the problem is often that "choice" is because there is no real way for us to work and have a happy family, so is it any wonder we are dissatisfied with our lot in life. It also talks about how "mum" (or "mom") is applied to stay-at-home-mums but somehow the more negative word of "mother" is generally applied to "working mothers" (I had never noticed that before!) I am only into the first chapter or so but I love how the book talks about the polarisation of women into camps as either good or bad "moms" but all that does it let society off scott-free when it comes to supporting families.
gotta go - lugs to all ;)
-
Rory - sounds like camping was fun, did Flynn enjoy the great outdoors?
Bath - hope you are doing OK, just wanted to let you know that I miss your posts and hope you are back on soon.
Maya - how did weekend school go and the expressing issue? Did you go swimming on Monday. Bummer the meet up was cancelled. I can't make the next one as I have a friend coming for lunch, which I had forgotten about (until she reminded me today - OOPS!).
Not much happening at the moment. Work today which was pretty good. Marley has turned into velcro baby the last few weeks, screams if I leave the room. Is anyone else having this problem??? Never had it with Chelsea so not sure what her problem is - separation anxiety? We had a 3yo bday party on Saturday and Marley took a liking to the plate of fairy bread and had about 4 pieces in each hand, all squashed up and shoving them in her mouth!! She was covered in dye from the sprinkles and so were her clothes but she had fun. When I got home and changed her nappy, it had pieces of bark in it so she must have been playing in the garden when I wasn't watching. Chelsea had a ball and I realised it is so much easier the older they are.
Another beautiful day in Melb tomorrow, bring on the sunshine! :)

Hiya Mel! Flynnie was a bit ambivalent about camping - he liked being with us 24/7 but hated being retricted in the car while we were driving between spots. And the poor love got a got at the tail end of the trip so had a fever on Monday and Tuesdays, on top of monster-teething, so he is still a bit snotty and cranky this morning. He has apparently been super velcro too, and sleeping and eating at odd hours. He woke this morning as usual at 6.30am in a good mood but by 7.20 had deteriorated into a whinny mess so he is back in bed now, probably already asleep. Which is good for me cause I have HEAPS of work to do - I only made 50% of my budget for last month (naughty girl!!) so given I only have 2 months of work left I better redeem myself and get cracking LOL!
Hope to hear from everyone else - its been so quiet in here.....
-
Hi girls, just briefly: Having a bit of a break from BB and the 'net in general as we installed the internet into Verity's room last week and she abused the priviledge by taking us over our monthly limit in 2 days :( Hope the novelty eventually wears off. But I guess there is a positive in that it is forcing me to have a break as I think I was spending too much time in here and it was affecting my moods etc. Oh well, our new month begins next Monday so I'll catch up properly then. Thanks Mel and Rory for your kind messages
-
Hmmm, I'm having ambivalence, too! I've been putting my two cents worth in here and there, but I feel that if I start to post in here it will be a big whine, and I'm not in the mood to do that. Things are better, though, I just feel it wouldn't take much to descend to whininess! Been lurking in here, though ;)
I hope the time away from the computer has helped, Bath :) I have missed you and was going to call you (famous last words) and it never happened :(
Mel - I DID get to the pool! I even got DP to come with us, so we went at about 5.40 - good time to bypass the 'normal' families who have dinner at about 6. DP didn't get too antsy about me teaching him stuff from classes and was happy to practice it there, too. We stayed for ages and got home with not enough time to get dinner ready before I had to take off for a committee meeting and a shoe party (had to drop in on that afterwards). No matter, I got to eat when I got home. Weekend school was really, really good. Graeme, our lecturer, was really engaging and I'm looking forward to more interactions with him. I used the sleep labs there at Caulfield but only realised as I was being let in by security that, along with everywhere else in that building, it's under constant video surveillance...hmm...
Actually, I have felt strange since Sunday, and today it's become apparent - I have a throaty sort of thing that is making me feel very drained. Oscar wouldn't stay in bed for me! I'm going to miss Booby Club, too.
DP has the car cos I told him this morning that I'm not well enough to head out further than the walk to the shops. But he didn't leave the buggy, so I may have to get this kid up on my back. I need my favourite cheesy bread, I don't care that dairy is contraindicated for throaty coldy things!
Oscar is being clingy today - might have a shower with him and then let him loose in the backyard (shower is for my benefit but it gives him something to do in that time!).
Oh, also, my sister and niece are coming over for the school holidays!
Julie - great to read from you again!!
Better go, the kid is going nuts...
-
Rory - glad to hear my child is not the only whingy one lately (you too Maya!!!). I don't know whether its teething or she is just having a crappy week. Its good that he is still sleeping. Marley's sleep pattern hasn't been affected, neither has her appetite - she is just in a bad mood. I am a bit like Flynn, hate sitting in the car, would rather be out stretching my legs. I'm sure you'll manage to get your work done and redeem yourself.
Maya - glad you got to the pool, I am suprised they are open that late. Would have been very quiet and DP sounds like he doing well coming with you. Wonder if the sleep labs are monitored on weekends? Knowing security, they probably don't pay much attention to them anyway lol! Hope you aren't getting a cold, just as the good weather is starting. How great is it today - I love the sunshine!!
Bath - don't stay away for too long! Its not the same without you in here.
Well Marley hasn't been too bad today, she has her moments. Still doesn't like being left alone anywhere, even if Chelsea is with her. She use to be so happy to play on her own with anything she could find, know she would rather just find me instead! Went out in the backgarden this morning to do some weeding and DH did the weed and feed of the lawn yesterday. We need to get some mulch in the next couple of weeks but having such a big backyard it gets expensive. It was lovely being out in the sunshine, spring is really here!! YEAH
