Yes i just read that to Ali.
Simone thinking of you and Anneleise at the moment, it must be so hard to see her go back into hospital after she did so well to be out early on. Jess's boy Patrick end up back in hosp too recently. I was speaking to my sister yesterday and her daughter 3 1/2month also had broncilitis. Not in hospital as yet but she has to keep a close eye on her because apparently she could go down hill quickly. her dad had broncitis so she must have caught it from him.
It must be going around? My friends 2 nephews were in hosp a few weeks ago with it too.
Anneleise is in our thoughts and hopeing she has a speedy recovery and back with you in no time. Take it easy Simone.
-
Things arent looking great, her body is starting to swell for some reason, she looks so bloated... she's had an IV inserted, took then about 5 goes to get it in, as she wont take the breast... Her oxygen levels were dropping so she's been put on oxygen, only the nasal prongs tho, no head box. You should hear her cry, as she's had the worst hacking cough, her throat is red raw, as her cry is like a cat meowing. She's also vomiting up alot of mucous, but dr says thats good. Better than sitting in her tummy. Her apnea attacks looked like they were getting better, she had 15 mins between attack, but then she had like 5 in 2 mins. So she has a nurse watchin her constantly, and she will be staying in the resus area of the ED at the childrens until they can get her a bed in the NICU. She's going to be in there a while, she was taken str8 in as soon as i got there, and was told after a quick look at her that they were admitting her. It was today last week that Xander was admitted!! I cant escape hospitals...
-
Simone i nearly cried reading that , I can not imagine how stressfull this must be for Anneliese, and how stressed you must be.
Im keeping my fingers crossed that this will pass as soon as possible and your little princess will be back at home with you.
She's a little fighter since the beginning, she will get through this aswell.

Hi again
Finally got the puter instead of Matt hijaking it - he's on a day off.
Baby photos: Am so busy trying to work out the new digi camera I haven't worked out the emailing part from the camera yet. Also got to organise posting out thank you notes and photos to all who sent cards and gifts. Then I've gotta get the Baptism invites out - 2nd of September. Gawd never ending! Now where are the funds for that cleaner I wanted? mmmm??
I got a gym timetable today and the child minding times clash with sessions I want to do. Matt doesn't get home until 7.30pm and 9pm on Wed and Friday's every 2nd week so not likely to do the classes I want! :crying: Just have to go for walks more often methinks! Oh yeah and boycotting chocolate - SOOOO hard!
Simone: Sorry to hear about Annaleise - my prayers are with you darls and I hope she gets better and comes home soon. She isn't asthmatic is she? That would not be nice at all - I had asthma as a child but grew out of it. I have to get flu vaccinations every year or I get bronchitis for 2 weeks!
Well not much else to report - have a good Tuesday ladies and catch you again soon.
-
I'm boycotting chocolate too Neeny... ATM I'm munching on some almonds and dates... it's doing the trick with dealing with my mid-afternoon sugar cravings :) We might have to start a support thread LOL
-
Neeny- Its wednesday mate!! hehehe, i know all the days just seem to roll into one!
arrrrggg Nixon exploded in his nappy & up his back again, making this the 3rd outfit of the day! (the other 2 he spewed all down.....)
He was a good boy at aerobics though just lays there and checks everything out!
Tomorrow me and my gf going to mums and bubs at the movies. they are playing the lake house..... so if anyone has Hoyts near them and not doing anything might be good to get out and about! i think its a great idea to have these sorts of things available.
-
Simone- Thinking of you in this tough time. I have to agree with Enigma, your little girl is a fighter and I am sure that she will get through this quickly!
I took Tori into school today to visit my class, I didnt realise how much I had missed them untill I saw them :( ,but they were very excited to see me which was kinda nice.
I was talking to the principal who has offered me 30 hours work, to do at my lesuire... ie either 2 or 4 hours a week. It is tutoring 2 kids in reading.......... and get this for the 30 hours work I will get paid nearly $1400. Not to bad, it will be enough to pay my tax bill with a little bit left over. I will probably start off doing it 2 hours a week for a few weeks to get back into the swing of things and then do 4 hours a week, 2 hours on a monday and 2 on a thursday. It works well because Pete is home on Mondays and I am sure my Mum would LOVEEEEEEEEE to have Tori on a Thurs.
Anyway better go, baby is sleeping and there are dishes and house work to do.
-
as i sit here and munch on the new Cadbury Rocky Road , i think to myself , your right Bath - we need to start a support group for chocoholics :)
-
Nixon has been testing me today & ive just about had enough.
unlike him he woke @4.30am. tried to settle for 30min & end up bringing him in with me. but i really didnt sleep to well from then till 6.45 when i fed him.
he was all smiles after the feed so i woke dh to play with him & i tried to get back to sleep. 10min l8r dh said take him i have to get up 4 work, so i asked him to put him back to bed. he didnt really settle so i didnt get anymore sleep, then i was on the ph he started crying took 4-5min to get to him hoping he would re settle but he went ballystic....then i felt bad. he was whimpering once i picked him up cause he had worked himself up so much.
spewed 5 times while changing him so re clothed feed & gym. was good but spwed about 10times @ the gym went through 3 bibs.
he has been a nightmare all afternoon, i tried to have a shower finally at 4pm he again went ballystic eyes all red hair wet from tears....
rang dh told him to not go to the gym after work because i need him home.....AND our friend the osteopath is coming soon to work on him which means he'll prob be worse with spewing tonight..............sorry for the vent needed to write it down to calm myself.... wish i had some chocolate in the house!
-
Simone hope your lil princess will be on the mend soon and be back at home were she belongs.
Well DH did get my cold/flu so was sick all weekend and had Monday and Tuesday off, also DS2 has a virus and DS3 has had high fevers for the last two days, so now that I'm better I'm looking after all the sick people in the family again.
I got Cody weighted on Thursday last week and he is 4490g, so he is slowly getting bigger, he's in 000 now so that is good and he will be 9 weeks this Friday so will have to get his first immunisation soon, maybe next week when everyone is feeling a little better.
I'm going to have a quick rant, DH told me before Cody was born that we would talk about having another, well we had a fight on the weekend and he told me that there was no way he was going to have any more children and that was that. Now I feel like the decision has been taken out of my hands and we haven't been able to discuss anything like two adults and he's the boss and I have to do what he says. I just can't really find the words to discribe how hurt and devestated I am about him just out right saying no more kids and thats that, and to make matters worse he tried to get my mother on his side which she is and that also hurts that he is willing to bring someone else into our relationship to help decide on how many kids we should have.
On a brighter note my mum brought me some clothes will she was down which was nice as I only had one skirt and a pair of DH trackie dacks to wear not alot. So now I have 2 skirts and a pair of pants and 3 shirts.
Well better go Cody starting to stir for a feed.
Hope everyone is doing well, and good to see you back Emishka.
hugs xoxo

Just received a message from Simone
Quote:
The medication is working to stop her apneoa attacks, she was awake when I visited her last night, she even breastfed!Don't know when she'll be home though....
-
Thanks for the update Jess. Glad she was awake and breastfed even better.
Had our osteo friend come around last night and work on Nixon.
surprisingly he was pretty good afterwards. he had 2 feeds after it and wasnt too spewy (def not like last time after his adjustment) so i hope he is good today also. fed him thismorning already and only did one small spew that was it!
he is going to continue to come around weekly for the next 4-5 weeks though.
Off to Mums & bubs movie thismorning
-
Jess: thanks :) that's sounding really positive.
Nic: Let us know how it goes at the movies! What are you going to see?
I was up at midnight last night after getting 2 hours sleep. Everyone else was sleeping and I decided to feed Niall in the lounge... turned on the TV and Picnic at Hanging Rock was on... had to change stations because it was too scary for me! LOL I've seen the movie at least twice but it really reminds me of my aunty and uncle's farm where I spent a lot of time wandering around similar rock formations up in the hills. Once, for no apparent reason I got the willys big time! I was only about 11 (long before I'd seen PAHR) and I felt a strong need to high-tail it down the mountain just like that girl in the movie did! I've since been able to return to that hill and the rock formations... but for some reason there was something going on that day... weird!
Ok... time to make Wade's bottle (yes, he still likes these... hopefully he'll get over it soon, with a new baby around i don't want to force the issue though)... then it's his nap time.... back later.
-
I'm still alive. just struggling with a bit of depression. Matt's been asked if he's interested in a job in china for a year. confused about what to do.
ryans now 5.3kg, 58cm long with a 39cm head.
-
Awww Candy.... hope you are having a better day (((hugs))). Regarding China... it's one of those decisions that you'd have to rely heavily on instinct... what was your first reaction? If it's still a tricky decision make a list of pros and cons and tally up each list.
Well we're a quiet lot today! I've been checking out an Australian fashion forum... it's set out just like this one except it's where people focus on clothing/sales/wardrobe tips etc. Only problem is that they moderate your first 5 posts meaning that they aren't visible straight away... I'm having to wait until they read them and make sure I'm not a spammer or trying to advertise etc. I'm hoping to get lots of tips before i slowly start to build up a new wardrobe.
-
thanks Bath but honestly it's been a slow downward slide for me today. As for China, if matt wants to go I won't stop him. it's to ghreat an opportunity but I won't go.
-
Candy, dont get yourself too down. How long do you guys have to get back to Matts work with an answer?
I think writing pro's and cons like Bath suggested would be a great idea. Even if you have made up your mind Matt may be able to see all the reasons not to go that maybe he hasn't thought of? would it be something that is short term/long term/indefinate?
Nice Stats on Ryans behalf!
We went and saw the Lake house. is was ok. nice to see Sandra & Keanu in a film together again as i LOVED speed. it was a nice movie but really its far fetched (could never happen)
Then me and my gf (with her 5week old) Had a nice lunch then coffee. so I have had a much better day today then yesterday and Nixon thankfully was not too spewy because silly me forgot to take extra bibs with me! (prob cause they were all drying after going through so many in the prev few days)
-
Blissfully quiet day today - no appointments to keep, nowhere except Aldi to be sometime today (will do that after I've had my instant noodles for sustenance, fed Oscar and changed him...).
So sorry to read about Simone and Annaliese :(
Candy, it will fall into place, hopefully!
I was a bit naughty last night and popped over to the neighbour's house to share some non-preservative red wine! Only had two glasses over nearly 3 and a half hours. BUT Oscar didn't get to sleep until 2.30, only to wake an hour later then 2 hours after that - I asked for it by staying out till midnight with the neighbour! I stayed in bed till 1pm, though, so I'm as rested as I could be.
Gonna finish these noodles now...
-
Well I finally bit the bullet and went and joined the gym today, and I am really really looking forward to starting up. I have taken out a full membership so I can do aerobics, use the gym and use the pools as well. They have a large hydrotherapy pool there which is always warm, which means I can take Tori over for a swim when the weather gets warmer, and as it is just across the road it should be great.
Tanya- Sorry to hear that you didnt really enjoy your mums & Bubs group. I am really looking forward to mine starting, I guess partly because I am looking forward to some adult conversation. All of these groups can get very political though, soemtimes you just may not gel with a certain group of people, maybe give it a couple of weeks, but if you dont like it and dont feel comfortable then don't go back.
Nic- Good to hear that you had a better day today with Nixon. I am really looking forward to going to a movie again. I want to see the new pirates of the Carribean movie. Might have to have a look and see what session are on at my local cinema.
Candy- Wow what a huge decision you and Matt have to make. I agree with Bath, trust your instincts and do what is best for your Family. Sorry to hear you are feeling depressed, hope that you are feeling better soon.
After discussing the job offer that I got yesterday with DH I have decided that I am just not ready to make that kind of commitment. Even though it is only 2 hours a week it is every week for the next 14 weeks and if we are having a bad day or have had a bad night I am still going to have to get up and go in. So I decided to give it a miss, which is a bit of a shame because it is the area that I am hoping to specialise in eventually, but at the moment spending time with Tori is the most important thing.
-
Ali - good call, jobs will come and go, but you can't get back this time with Tori :)
I've gone blank again -Oscar's crying cos he's being changed after a bath...the crying is so distracting when DP is with him and I'm trying to do something else!!
-
where is everyone? oscar's whimpering on my shoulder, must go again!
-
Hey IK. I'm trying to deal with the second day of ryan's growth spurt. He's bein absolutely feral all day. But at least he's still sleeping through.
Tanya - just remember every baby is different. Lucas might be testing you out not but you may never experience the terrible twos while this woman gets your share too ;)
-
I am here! waiting for everyone else to chat a bit so I'm not hogging the thread with ame blabbing on!
went and had a look @ a day care place today. not that i am thinking of going back to work just yet but already have our name down at one place but hadnt been to any other to compare.
Candy- How are you feeling today? Did you chat to Matt anymore about the China move?
-
Hi all, I have been keeping up with reading everyone's posts, just the same old story of not getting a chance to actually reply!
Nickers, doesn't the mum & bub sessions at the movies rock? I used to go with DS from when he was 2 months for ages...he would sleep in the sling and wake up for a feed 1/2 hr before the end of the movie. I'd go every week, whether I liked the movie or not, because it was so nice to do a normal activity. Of course, now with a toddler it's impossible!
Candy, what a full on thing to have to think about so soon after having a baby. Sorry to hear you're having another feral day with Ryan...Freya was a shocker Mon/Tue/Wed this week, just cried and cried no matter what. Today she just wants to sleep (provided she's being held or in the sling of course!)
Ali, sounds like you made a good decision re: the job...things are so full on at this stage and you probably don't want any extra pressure...hopefully you'll get another opportunity when you're ready, because it sounds great!
Simone, hope your lil gal is getting better!
Amanda, sorry to hear about your DH being so insensitive...hope you are able to eventually have a discussion with him about it at least.
Tanya, mother's groups are tricky things, aren't they? They can either be a great support or just cause more angst. I had an experience like yours when I went to one with DS, felt like everything was a competition, so I never went back. I envy women who find a great one. When you think about it, it is a big ask for a group of random women to get on just because they happen to have a baby around the same time.
Things have been really hectic around here...DS, after 3 trips to the doctors, has finally been diagnosed with ear infection in both ears...one of them has a burst eardrum, which is apparently common in kids and will heal itself, but it has been heartbreaking because he's never been this sick. Freya is settling into a bit of a routine, and will go to sleep in her cot at night, but there is no way she'll do it in the day, even though I go through exactly the same motions. So it looks like I'll have the sling as a permanent fixture for a bit longer yet!
-
Happy one month Mr Lucas!!!
-
Yay!
When besides the fact that Tim is home again from school sick, nothing is really new here!
Patrick has actually had a sleep today, not a catnap, Bella is asleep next to me, DH is most probably talking to the little tramp that will not understand the meaning of stop ringing, and Lizzie laying on the floor withher legs in the air!
Question?
How many of you knew what the census means and how often it is carried out? The reason I ask is because this little tramp had no idea(she is 23) of what the census was and why people were handing out these booklets!
-
I can understand her not knowing. sorry jess but last one I was still in school and would have had no idea about it other than i was living with my nan so filled one out.
-
just got back from maternal nurse - oscar's a growing monster, he'll be like his daddy growing off the charts, for sure. 5.5 freaking kilos and an almost 10cm length growth...and i carry him around in a sling...for how long???
dtd last night and now i'm dosing up on ural again - when does the friction sting after-effect stop after having a baby?? it was worth it, though - might have my mojo back.woke DP up after oscar went down and gave him a good seeing to ;)
must try mums and babies movie sessions - thanks, jo!
gotta go now and organise passport photos of oscar...
-
Just a quick one from me before I hit the shops.
Tori and i had our 6 week check up today, everything is fine with Tori but I have to go for an ultrasound because the Dr. thinks I might have some retained product as my bleeding has gotten worse and not better and i have experienced a few cramps. *sigh* I just thought I had my period back.
I am already frustrated with Centrelink.....I knew there was a reason I didnt want to deal with them again, I have had 2 letters a week apart telling me 2 different amounts that I am due to get paid........ and they are $75 different in amount, so I am trying to find out what has changed in the last week........but they are engaged.
Anyway I hope everyone has a great weekend!
-
which reminds me Ali I am still waiting to get my afirst allowances from them.. they said it would take up to 3 weeks... hmm i sure i went more then 3 weeks ago though??
-
Hey everyone,
i'm a newbie and i just had my baby girl in june.
Tarleha was born on the 29th via emergency ceaserean at 5:16pm. Was due on 26th june but she had other ideas (as all babies do).
She was 6 pound 10 ounces.
43cm long
34 head circumference.
was anyone elses baby born on the same day?
So what do you guys talk about?
Tarleha just screams none stop, due to her reflux and colic, luckily she has just started putting on weight not losing it. She has bad nappy rash 2 the poor bugger.

IMPORTANT
UPDATE
Simone has just rung me wth a very important update. Anneliese has gone downhill! She has just been rushed back to ICU as she has had another apnoea attack, she is now on the ventilator as her right lung has collasped and she is her Sat levels dropped down to 60.
Our parayers and best wishes are being sent to her and her family at this time.
Welcome to June Baby buddies Kristee-Lea and Tarleha. I'm Jess and although my boy wasn't born in June he is a June baby at heart.
-
oh my god, i hope little Anneleise fights back... not what i expected to hear, i thought once she got out of icu she would continue to get better. thanks Jess, i hope Simone knows we are all praying & thinking of her baby girl.
hello Kristee! congratulations on the birth of your daughter. there are some threads on colic/reflux which u might find useful, lots of babies in BB seem to have it, not nice i know.
oh i feel so sorry for what Simone is going through right now.
-
She knows Nic, I made sure that she knew that we are praying our hardest for that beautiful little girl.I have made myself available for her whenever she needs to talk. If anyone is around the Royal Childrens in Melbourne and you have time just ask for Simone to be paged, she is only just holding it together.
-
Hi again!
OMG About Simone and Annaleise! I'm so close to tears right now! I am  ing that things turn around and hope that she recovers quickly. I had a friend at highschool who was born premmie, her lung collapsed shortly after birth and she made it - and that was in 1971 so if she could do it I'm sure Annaleise can too!
Tanya: About that mum who rubbed you the wrong way - steer clear! I read an article in "Practical Parenting" about competitive mums and it generally said don't participate and make sure you tell them that every child develops at their own pace and every child is different! I have to admit I'm pretty lucky with Aleise but I went through a terrible pregnancy and kept saying "This kid had better be an angel" and luckily so far so good, however I noticed she's starting to cry a bit more often and remain awake longer during the day now.
Candy: Don't go to China, we can't lose you! - and tell Matt to hurry back if the job is short term. If its a permanent job would he really leave you and Ryan behind? I bloody hope not! You two seem too good for each other to suddenly separate! Hope you work things out soon darls!
Baby Dancing: haven't gotten any for a while now but the advantage to having a c/s (and there aren't many) is that no affter affects down there. Oh yeah no incontinence either - ONE good thing of having CND (where head doesn't descend into pelvis- reason why I had to have a c/s). oh gotta share this one - saw at the pharmacy you can now get vibrating condoms (complete with battery).. has anyone ever seen or (dare I say used one?). You'd want the battery to be small! lol!
My OB told me to use barrier method as my blood pressure was up at 6 week check up - 140/80. I'd better see my GP like he advised and also Aleise's 2 month immunisations are due next week - not looking forward to that! I've heard that its best to give them children's Panadol before hand so they're not in too much pain - is this true?
Nicole: I too have Aleise's name down for waiting list at child care and did that before she was born. I will need to go back to work even though Matt just got a pay rise - its still no where enough to cover all bills and mortgage and food and fuel. Gee where are the lotto numbers when you need them? I'm due to go back in November but was thinking of going back in October.
Mum's group: I've been chatting on another site (yes naughty me!) and met up with 5 other mums yesterday at a local shopping centre. We talked for 2 hours!! One has a bub who's 7 weeks and another had her bub at the same hospital as me and she lives in my suburb!! There is also a local dinner happening too via this site so it would be a good chance for Matt and I to meet some new parents! Well so far so good but its early days yet as its a newly formed group. If it gets catty I'm exiting stage left! Here's hoping it doesn't!!
Baby gifts: WE got a $100 Target voucher from Matt's Aunts and Uncles (who live in NSW) today and went crazy buying stuff. We got an infant cushion (for the pram), mini cooler bag and a car shade for the hatchback of our car all that for $50!!Couldn't find a pram underlay though and don't want to spend $34 at Babyco - which is the only place I've seen them. We'll have to hang on to the voucher for a while until their next sale.
Baby clinic: I've been slack and haven't taken Aleise to one yet - anyone else been slack too? Guess I should pull my finger out. Isn't it okay just to see your Doc when immunisations are due? Is this good enough if your bub is going great guns? Any advice would be good here from experienced Junies (Bath, 7th Heaven, Jo.. :help: ).
Well I've gobbed on long enough - will pull out the rosary (haven't done that in years) for Simone and Annaleise. Don't laugh - its worked before for very sick people! Do we have Simone's mobile number so I could text her??? Anyone???
Take care and will pop my head in soon.
Nightie night! :)
-
Simone and Annaleise , your both in my thoughts - keeping all fingers crossed for you !!! ... Come on little fighter - get better soon!
-
Oh no, poor Simone, that is terrible news...thinking of Anneleise and praying that she improves soon. I can't imagine how tough that would be, I am in tears just thinking about it. Thanks for keeping us up to date Jess.
Welcome Kristee-Lea, look forward to chatting with you!
Neeny, I just go to the baby clinics for the check ups in their red health books (2 months, 4 months etc.) just to keep them filled out & up to date, but you can go to a GP for those too, as well as for immunisations. I go to the immunisations at the baby clinics, they have them about once a week or fortnight at most of the Brissie ones, and they're free! I've heard about giving panadol before needles, but I've never done it, and DS has always been okay, I guess it's an individual thing. Glad to hear your meet up went well, sounds like you have struck it lucky!
-
oops forgot to add welcome Kristee-Lea :) you'll love it here... our little virtual mothers group ;)
-
Kristee Lee- I don't think any bubs were born on the 29th so your little one has her own birth date!
You can email your details to astrolady@bellybelly.com.au so she can add you onto the front page.
what do we talk about- pretty much anything & everything in here! there are lots and lots of threads for all sorts of topics, we seem to touch on many of them in here. Keep posting in here because its great you'll really get attached to everyone!
I hope Tarleha (pretty name) bottom gets better soon. Nixon had it about a month ago, poor boy was (sorry if tmi) right around his anus, i was packing on the cream and also wiping him down with pinetarsel solution. Also gave him a bath in it too and it seemed to help. cleared up in a few days and hasn't had it since. I think to everyone find s adifferent cream/wipes are better of different babies so its just a matter of finding what works for you & bub. I found the Curash cream to be the best on Nixon so far.
-
What a shock. My prayers are with Simone and Annaleise.
Welcome Kristee-Lea
IK - my little piggy is 5.5kg too.
Neeny - i haven't done the clinic thing yet, and i go to gp for immunisations.
Sorry can't remember other personals but hi to everyone.
Nathan had 6 week check up yesterday and all is well. Talipes are no longer an issue.
Having a shocker today, nathan doesn't want to stay asleep for long and i have a cold and just need a rest.
