Happy 1st Birthday Tyron!! :happybirthday:
Nic - Good luck with Nixon's op tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and I'm sure it will all go well. You did an awesome job of the cake, I bet that icing stained lots of things!!! Of forgot to say your new av looks fantastic.
Bath - sorry to hear about your loss but what a lovely necklace Hoobley made for you. Extremely thoughtful. BB has such lovely people on it. Bugger about the childcare, I'm sure you'll get there soon and with no snotty noses. The vest is so cool - I can't believe it has lasted through all your kids and still looks good. I hate packing things away, esp the kids things. Frame it with a picture of each child with it on!!! Love Nic's av, great work! Can't make the expo, I've never been but always wanted to. Kids parties are ruling my weekends at the moment.
Tali - glad I am not the only one with a dare devil!!! I think we should get them together again before you leave. Could be chaos!!! That's not really fair that DH does the same work, if not more and doesn't get paid for it. How does that work??? Hope he gets the extra money as it seems he deserves it. Don't worry hun, I'm sure your dream house is not far away. You've got a dream to work towards and I'm sure you guys will get it. Good things happen to good people.
I got a lovely surprise at work today - flowers from my DH!!!
Today is our 13th wedding anniversary and it has been so long since DH has sent me flowers. And not just any flowers, a HUGE pink basket filled with pink and purple flowers. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME :loveshower:
Tomorrow we are seeing Wicked which I am so excited about. I bought the tickets as a present for DH. We are also going into the city early for dinner so should be a fantastic night.
Hi to you all - wonder how Amanda is going. Not long to go now.
-
Good afternoon Junies :) happy anniversary Mel! :cheer:
Well DH and I are in a bit of a snoot with each other. He's getting all jittery about finances (macro and micro) and he said we may have to enroll Verity in a public school... I said "Noooo", we've only got 4 more years to go (out of 14 years in her school life, including the fees we paid for her pre-school) and I'll be damned if we are going to start compromising now! The public highschool here is awful. The kids that go there harass the Girls' school students and verity gets taunted and yelled at at the train station by disgusting youth who have a fag in one hand and grafitti paint stains on the other (they are the ones defacing the station... Verity actually called CrimeStoppers on them once and now she has a reputation as a snitch.... they call her "Snitch B!tch" when ever they walk past our house and at the train station. She pretends not to seem phased... she "doesn't want to appear weak" and refuses to change anything because of this harassment... she refuses to avoid the train station for example. Imagine sending her to the school that these kids go too! No way! Not going to happen! I think all this is reinforcing her interest in becoming a police officer! Aaaaanyhow Dh and rarely argue over money... but Dh is also demoralised by a very similar issue to yours Tali: My Dh is the most experienced banker in his department now... but because he's been there the longest he is paid the least... the bank has had to lure the newer bankers there with higher wages. He also has asked for a pay rise... but of course with all the uncertainty with the World Financial Crisis his boss can't make any guarantees. So frustrating... and I totally empathsise Tali!!! Mel: is right... every dog has his day (good things eventually happen to good people). The thing is we have invested so much into Verity's education and to pull out now just seems crazy. If Dh was paid what the other bankers are being paid we'd be alright.... and YES he spends a good percentage of his day sorting out other bankers messes... calming client complaints that other bankers have incurred etc. because he too is a perfectionist and actually likes things done properly ie so that no one gets shafted and that deals aren't dodgy. Enough of my venting LOL
Thanks for the compliments on my avvys too .... I can't wait to do yours Tali :) I'm getting more particular on who i do them for LOL (the upkeep is getting unweildly) but I would definitely help out all my Junies :)
Happy Birthday Tyron!!! :happybirthday: and I also hope Nixon has a smooth and successful Op!
Arrrrgghhhh..... only just mopped the floor and Niall has just dumped a spadeful of DIRT on the floor here beside me! I guess that is the natural law of things :wall: Better clean it up before it's spread any further!

 Bath
As for school fee's have you thought about talking to the school about seeing as you have been going for so long, I know that when I went to school ( moldy twisty ) by the time I was going ( the 4th DD ) it was the 90's and dad was having a hard time making the payments for all of us and know that he just did some type of payment plan, which both he and the school was happy with.... But this of course ment he was still paying of school fee and while after the youngest was finish but still he did pay it off... You dont know unless you dont ask...
:partysmiley: Happy Anniversary Mel :confetti:
Mel as to BHL getting less money there are different companies who are meant to be looking after there own stuff and so the mining company pays them more as they are meant to be the one who know what they are doing ( but dont ) and the others have just been there longer so once again they expect them to know more and be the ones helping everyone else ...

Hello all. Just in case you dont read the birth announcements, fellow Junie Amanda had her 5th boy today! Name as yet unknown. :)
-
Thanks Ang, better go check it out - how exciting.
Nic - hope Nixon's operation went well yesterday. Let us know how both of you are going.
Bath - I hope you can convince DH to keep her where she is, as you said only 4 more years. The girls from the other school sound like right SKANKS!! Lovely behaviour, I would be mortified if any of my girls behaved like that. Verity is such a well grounded and sensible girl (thanks to you being such a good mum!) who can see those girls for what they are.
Thanks for your anniversary wishes. We had the best couple of days. On Tuesday which was our anniversay, I got home to this huge box on the kitchen bench. Opened it up for find my new KENWOOD PATISSIERE MIX MASTER :leap: I have been wanted one for so long but they are frightfully expensive but DH has had it laybyed for a while. I can't wait to start making pastries etc on the weekend. He is such a wonderful DH. Last night we went to see Wicked, and wow, what an amazing show. I absolutely loved every second of it. We went for dinner at a beautiful restaurant across the road, had a great meal and then the show topped off a fantastic anniversary. How will we top that next year? I highly recommend anyone who gets the chance to go and see Wicked. I am still thinking about it today. MIL was great looking after the kids for us as we left early and didn't get home until nearly midnight.
Hi to everyone else and hope you all get to enjoy the sunshine today.
-
Thanks for the 'heads up' on Amanda's birth Ang :) HERE's a direct link for everyone to her announcement thread.
Mel: oooooh a mixer!!! I would looove one myself... i'm keen on a kitchenaid... but it's going to be while coming I'm afraid... I just know you're going to make the most delicious things!!! Enjoy! :D
Yes, DH has calmed down a bit about verity's schooling. BTW the harassers were mainly boys. They are scary individuals... lord help us if my boys end up hanging around people like them! Actually... that won't be happening... I will put my foot down and insist we move if that's the case.
-
Thanks Bath much easier than searching through all the threads....
CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA AND FAMILY...
-
Hi everyone, just popping myhead around the corner and saying hello- I have been sooooooooo busy of late- still trying to get my head around mum of 2, work and all the stuff that goes along with general life as well, but you get that.
All is well here, the kids are both doing superbly- Liam is close to walking, he is up to about 7 or 8 steps in a row now, and Tori is just Tori, being 2 and trying to assert herself, and just having some of the most wonderful conversations, her new thing is to say "I love you all the stars in sky", because every night when she goes to bed I tell her I love her as much as all the stars in the sky- she is just tooooooooooooooooooooo cute. She has her first birthday party at a play centre today and is super excited!!!
I hope everyone is well, and happy! Congrats to Amanda on the arrival of her little man, makes me cluck cluck cluck!
-
Hi girls, like Ali just popping my head in between kid-wrangles :) Congrats to Amanda - like Ali it makes me clucky, but I will have to wait til my turn (hopefully) in Feb next year.
Better go - am using MIL's PC and she has one of those annoying microsoft split keyboards which is doing my head in LOL!!!
-
LOL We used to have one of those keyboards Rory... you eventually get used to it.
Well I'm at the local library! having a bit of 'me time'. Lovely and quiet here :) and a huge big monitor!
Went to the baby and child expo yesterday... met lots of BB members. It was a good day. I just took Wade. There was a free Dorothy the Dinosaur concert and lots of activites forhim... and then icecream with all the gang at the Casino. About 20 of us met up in all. I met Maz, Raven, Nai, RayRay, and Nelle (to name a few of the old-timer BB members). Wade took some group photos (his services as a photographer are becoming very handy!) and I'll post the piccys up soon.
Love to all :)
-
Bummer would have loved to have gone Bath but we took the boys down to Warragul to visit the in-laws yesterday. Just got back now - have a shocking case of hayfever - this is the first spring I haven't been pg or BF in 4 years and boy do I feel the lack of hormones to ward off the symptoms (pharmacist told me that female hormones act as steriods to minimise hayfever effects - cool, huh?)
nightnight :)
-
*Knock Knock* Does anyone remember me???
I am so very sorry I have neglected my Junies for so long, but I was just talking to Maya on FB, so I thought I would pop in here and say hi!
Well we have been extremely busy over the past couple of months. James quit his job at the servo after not getting enough hours and some other stuff which incidently happened to me. I fell over at the servo, injuring my knee quite badly ( I was on crutches for 10 weeks!). Everyone treated James like **** after reporting the accident and he started getting less and less hours so he thought he would leave. But things are looking up. James put his name down for the new McDonalds that is openening and he got a fulltime job, so in December he'll be working again!
The kids are doing really well! Pat is such a little independent soul these days, he rides his little tricycle through the house (yes we don't believe in leaving it outside, no matter how many times Mummy says NO!) feeding his new "tooks" and collecting the single egg we get every 2nd day! He has also started the "why" stage! and the "wuv ya very much" stage of his development...
He is such a joy to be around though! The kids adore him and he and Bella are the best of friends....sometimes!!! LOL
Better head off as I have to wash the kids school clothes! Love yas!

HI Ladies
a quick hello from me also - as long as all are asleep - which doesn't happen very often and doesn't last very long.
Happy belated birthday to tyron - his photos are lovely on FB, and happy belated anniversery to Mel - sounds like you had an awsome day!
Mostly ok here - Isla is an angel and sleeps 6-8 hours a night, she is a lovely smiley girl who is growing up so fast - she is only just 2 months and is now in 3-6 months clothes! Ive got so many summer clothes for he its just rude! she could wear a different item every day fo rthe next 6 months and still not get through everything - both mum and me went abit mad after 2 blue ones! We got some lovely pressies too so shes starting wearing them.
The boys are the otherhand are nightmares. their behaviour is attrocious and i get quite embarrassed when i take them out - ive ended up with the brats i always criticised (silently) other people had before kids! Oscar just doesn't listen to anything i say and William is so stroppy and rude its just not funny - well sometimes it is but he makes me cry more than laugh. I need to get some help with them soon as they are really getting me down. I went to Ngala (WA parenting advise place) in June about Oscar and i rang them yesterday but they close your file after a few months so i would have to start again by ringing their helpline and i just couldn't do that. maybe later. I do know some Ngala ladies near where i live so i may try and talk to them but its embarrasing when you know them already.
Anyway, enough whinging and me posting, ought to get on with doing stuff while there is a microsecond of peace in the house.
Take care an love to my Junies
Julie x

Julie your not alone we all go though this stage in life  I lost count the amount of times I thought to myself " I have the most misbehaving children in the world!!! " Or " what kind of animals are you as they are human "....
Dont be imbarassed by them just carry on the best you can as though they arent tearing though the shops and looking under all the dress's of maniquen's ( sp?) and some that might not have been , Just think to yourself that those people who are looking are one of two thing the " HAVE NOTS " Thoses who have NOT yet had the joys of children or have NOT yet had toddlers/children and only have there sweet NOT yet moving babiesor they are " BEEN THERE DONE THAT's and they are proble looking and thinking should I go over and help her out or would I get my head bitten off, or thinking " Thank God mine are in SCHOOL.... So please please please dont think it just you... They are just been kids this is what kids do and now that they know that mum is busy or that mum wouldnt dare do anything in fount of people they will test you every chance they get.... Chin up I hope you feel better about the little mites soon...
Hey Jess good to hear from you again sounds like life is getting better for you...
well BHL was driving me nut the last few days ( doesnt help I have a cold so wasnt up to to much DTD while he is ALWAYS ready and feels annoyed that I am not when he only has 5 days home lol too bad for him.... Anyway he is now Ummming and Arrring about when he actully wants to leave Melb we had decided on the end of Jan but now he is unsure if we will have the money by then and wants to wait until April.... otherwise we might have to take out a loan just to make sure we have enough $$$ when its needed... I dont see the deference whats 2 mths going to do... Not much... Anyway he decided that End of March start of April would be better, so while driving him to the train station I told him I would have to re-enrol the kids as I told the school last week that would be finishing up at the end of the year, and he told me not to do that yet he want to see what happens in the time he is away... So now I dont know if I am Arther or Martha... So I guess I will leave it as it is for now and see what he wants to do when he is home in two weeks.... Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Men cant live with them cant live without them!!!!
-
Bath - I feel terrible assuming they were girls, how bad is that!!! I wouldn't worry, I could never imagine your boys hanging with a crowd like that. I have been in a baking frenzy since getting my mixer. I've done lemon curd tarts, cookies, cakes and a custard tart yesterday (DH's favourite). I just love it!
Ali - wow, I can't believe Liam is nearly walking. Time is really flying. Tori just sounds so cute and I can imagine her saying those things after seeing her FB pics. How did she enjoy her first party?
Rory - great to see you pop your head in, how is DH doing? Your hayfever any better?
Jess - great to hear from you too. Hope DH enjoys his new job. Is your knee any better?
Julie - Isla is just so gorgeous, her FB photos are great. I love being able to see them grow as it does happen so quickly. Girls clothes are so addictive, and I can say that it doesn't stop as they get older!! I totally agree with Tali, you are not the only one to have the "crazy" kids. I think everyone one of us here with slightly older children has had "episodes". The new addition usually has an impact on their behaviour and what one does, the other usually does too. Patience is not something I have alot of, so I sympathise with you. Its hard but I am sure it will get better as the boys find their new position in the house. Trying to find what punishment works is good, as I'm sure each one has something different. Just wanted to give you a huge  and let you know that we are all here for you.
Tali - great post! You have a great way with words. Why are men always ready and raring to go, whenever, wherever??? I'd love their stamina sometimes LOL!! You must get frustrated not knowing what is going on. Especially as you have to enrol the kids in school etc. Are you Arthur or Martha today? You poor love!
Work is getting much busier so I haven't had as much time to get on BB. My new mixer is taking up my time too, I've been going crazy baking. DH is loving it!
Chelsea has her dance concert in a couple of weeks so she has been having extra rehearsals etc so that is taking up a bit of time too. She is getting very excited and we can't wait to see it. Last years concert was amazing so I am sure this year's will be even better. Marley is so into dancing, she copies (or tries to) all of Chelsea's moves and usually in a costume of some sort. She also tries to sing along which is pretty funny. She is such a funny little thing, continually making us laugh at her antics - both good and bad. She got her first face painting on Sunday at a birthday party and she sat so still and it looked gorgeous (I put some pics of it on FB). She didn't even try to rub it off and was really annoyed when we got home and I tried to wash it off!
Better get back to it. Love to you all.
-
Hey girls, flying visit to say hi then bye before we fly out to NZ tomorrow :) Howdy to Jess, Julie and Tali and Mel my hayfever is much better! DH is good too
better go - its 10.30pm and we have to leave the house by 6.30 tomorrow morning -eek!
I THINK I have packed everything.........;)
-
Hiya all, just popped in to say that Liam turned 10 months yesterday and decided that it was good day to start walking - he is walking all the time now, :( cant believe he is so grown up already!
i am madly trying to get stuff organised for my reports for school, feeling like I am drowning under a tonne of school work, but there is only 8 weeks to chrissy holidays now and I am sure it will just fly.
-
Have a great trip, Rory! Hope you're flying Air NZ - best food and inflight decor ;)
How did you score the dud time of 6.30??? Yuk! Oh, well, at least you get more of the day when you arrive!
I'll find out how my sister does the trans-tasman trip on her own with a child in a few weeks when I head over with Oscar, to catch my niece's 2nd birthday...I know we'll be fine, 3.5 hours compared to 27 hours on a plane...no worries!
Tali - what Mel said! You've got a way to come out with pure gold, woman :)
Julie - the boys sound like they are challenging you ATM, I'm going to copy what Bath always says; "this, too, shall pass"...(sorry to steal your thunder, Bath!).
Amanda - congrats on your little boy!! I hope all is going very well and can't wait to read your update.
Mel - sounds like you had an ace anniversary! And all that pastry making is making me salivate...
Jess - was great chatting with you on FB the other night :)
Over here things are weird. They are good but they are baaaaad. Uni is a bit up in the air this semester - I have an assignment that is overdue and I"m scrambling to get it done with only two days a week for study time. When MIL has Oscar she doesn't have him long enough for me to get stuck into it, so that's a PITA. Anyway, I hope a not from my uni counsellor can smooth things over for me, so that I can get the assignment done and have a deferred exam. This is why I've been MIA - real life has me caught up in the swirl.
Oscar is doing ace things in many respects. He is a gun in the pool (diving in and doing underwater somersaults, for example), great on all his wheels (scooter, trike and little car thing), and really, REALLY into horses (woo hoo!). Ever since we got onto the Silver Brumby animation DVD, he's been even more nuts for horses. So, today we went together to my horse and we had a ride together for the first time without a helper. When he got tired of riding, he slipped off and played in the sand (the arena is a sand one...duh, that's the latin word for sand!), then asked to come back up, then wanted Babu and was quite insistent on it. Well, I didn't want to dismount and mount all over again (we were bareback) so I just flipped him round and fed him...bareback Babu!! It was definitely a highlight of our breastfeeding journey and there was no-one to share it with! My GF came up with a fantastic idea, though - get a photo of it, with a bit more preening and preparation to submit for the ABA calendar...so now I'm thinking on it quite seriously!
Anyway, Oscar's being a real gem - he's everything and more that I never even thought I wanted out of having a child. I'm getting such a buzz out of him, and this is also why it's hard to concentrate on getting all my uni stuff done - this time doesn't have a 'pause' button.
Better get to bed, we have a big day tomorrow - going to a semi-local Agi show, then a friend's birthday in Warburton, then back to dinner with my parents, then a night out with DP to a local to see my friend's band play :)
I'm lurking, but probably won't post again till things have settled down a bit with uni.
Take care, all!!
ETA: Just saw your post, Ali - good luck with reports...crunch time for you, too!!
