Hollo that is good to hear, I was thinking of starting Kodi on solids soon, as she is always feeding & waking up at night now.
Kodi was 5.97kg at 4 months & 6.32kg at 5 months. She's petite every-where else expect for her legs.
She has about 3 fat rolls, it so cute.
wtg Alexandra & Justine on the weight, seems like all our babies thriving!

Susie was only 5.6 at her 4 months! shes a slow grower but chubby lol! thinking about starting some farax on the weekend. Susie is forever trying to eat my foodf and tonight she pulled my glass to her mouth and started sucking on it lol! clever girl!!
Imogen was 6.5kg at her 4 month needles but she doesn't seem chubby at all. I haven't weighed her since so probably should do that...

i gave chels some farrax yesterday and she isnt ready. her tongue thrust refelx kept pushing the food back out. gonna try again in a week. she is showing the other signs though, like watching us eat and making chewing movements, grabbing at food etc...
i cant remember from before.. but do you make the consistency of farrax (for first introduction of solids) smooth or runny?
We tried Kodi on farax & there was no tongue reflex. So i'm guessing she's ready, but she did spit it out. Closed her mouth up after 3 try's.
Hollo i'm not sure but we made ours runny because she's still under 6 months, also tried smooth & she still spat it out.

We still haven't tried solids... the main thing stopping me is that it leads to a whole new, messy stage!! We have such a tiny place and I really want to start solids at a dining table... which we don't have. We are moving in a couple of weeks, going to Sydney in a week and I think it would probably be better to wait till after all that settles down but we will see how it goes. She is starting to sit with her hands in between her legs for support and can without them for a few seconds before needing to lean forward and re-balance. She is getting very co-ordinated and when laying on her back will twist the top half of her body to reach toys behind her before getting back onto her back and shoving it in her mouth! Can you tell I'm a proud, first time Mum? It is so amazing just watching her sometimes.
I am starting to suspect we may have more teeth on the way... I guess time will tell. I can't believe how sharp they are! Lucky she doesn't bite while feeding but be careful if you get your finger caught in there!! Yeeeouchhhh.
How many feeds a day are our bubs having? I haven't really been counting but would love a sort of idea about where others are. I think we are still between 7 or 8.

JB Kodi would be having around 8 a day, as for teething when Maddi starting getting her teeth she would teeth for 2 weeks get all four teeth, then 4 weeks later teeth again etc.. Then she stopped teething 12 months & started back up at 18 months.
JB- chelsea is doing the same thing with the sitting! its so cute! i love it when they learn new things too. another thing she is doing now is blowing raspberries. its really cute but very annoying cause she will be almost asleep and then wake herself up doing them!LOL it actually reminded me of when hannah was little, whenever she was learning something new she used to do it when she should have been sleeping too!
i gave chels some more farrax yesterday, was gonna wait a week but it was just sitting inthe cupboard so i was like what the hey i will give it another go and she took to it a bit better. she chomped down a couple spoonfuls. i made it more runny than smooth this time.
i have no idea about how many feeds she is having. i would say probably between 2hourly and 3 hourly but pretty much attached over night from 12 til 6! LOL and sometimes i just pop her on if i am bored hehe
i have found that she is having a standard 10hour block of sleep. if she goes at 7pm she will be up for the day at 5 but if she goes down at 8 she will be up at 6.

speaking of teething, chels just woke up from her first morning sleep and her bottom tooth has cut through! so exciting! really all these milestones are just as exciting second time round, i always wondered if it would be! LOL

We are having the same problem... just getting her sleepy and then she starts trying to do something exciting and wakes herself right back up! Last night I didn't get her down properly till 1:30am. She was GIGGLING so much and I just couldn't be mad, was frustrated though. I got her down at 12:30 but she woke again... 1:30 she finally was out of it. It doesn't seem to matter much when I put her down for the night, she always wakes at 5:30 for the next feed, then has another sleep till 7:30. I think the main problem last night was she had a late nap, so just was not tired enough by bedtime. We had friends over so I just let her sleep while we chatted and played... bad idea haha.

Yeah, Mo, the teething completely confuses me. I am so afraid to say she is teething until I actually see more teeth haha.
Sounds like we are on the right track with feeds :)

Hollo- Kodi is usually on the boob most of the night as-well, i guess you get that when you co-sleep.
Kodi also does the blowing raspberries & sitting up with her hands. I agree it's still just as exciting 2nd time round. Can't wait till she starts crawling & walking that way K & M can play better.
and talking.. we were talking about the funny ways hannah used to say words like 'mulk' and 'bappy' etc and then i started wondering what cute things chelsea will say. love it!
yep sooo cute when they first start talking, i often wonder what Kodi's first word will be.
Maddi's 1st word was Mumma & i wonder if Kodi's 1st word will be something that Maddi says all the time like Elmo, Dora, Roar or Oh mate etc...
it could even be maddi. :-)
Could even be Kodi, all she hears all day is Kodi this & Kodi that lol
Meet up with Ange(Falguni) Sas & Lulu yesterday. Sas is such a little chubba, I forgot how cute chubby babies ares are .

Hi Everyone
Just popping in to say hello. We had a nice weekend, went to a tupperware party - I haven't been to one for years and it has changed so much from what I remember - and I went to brunch with the girls (my 3 close friends) without bub which was good.
Alexandra seems to be much happier on her belly now that she is consistently rolling and scooting around. She loves to move her bum around in circles to twist herself around (if that makes sense) I bought the solids booklet from the ABA and should get it in the mail tomorrow so i'm hoping to start trying solids soon. We are going overseas in October for a couple of months and I want to have some kind of routine established and make sure there aren't any reactions to a variety of foods.
Atm she has 6-8 feeds a day and is still self settling in her cot which I am super excited about. I think that having a specific musical tune playing during her last feed before bed and when i put her in the cot is really helping. She hears the music and knows it's bed time. DP wants her to still be sleeping in our bed but especially with this warmer weather she is definitely starting off in the cot and will probably end up in the bed by the morning anyway :)

FF- wow thats great that your DP wants to co-sleep, you dont hear of the daddy wanting bub in bed with them too often! :-) where are you going overseas?
i have been giving chels solids each day, she seems to swallow most of it but she is sucking it off the spoon more than chomping it off (iykwim) and she isnt opening her mouth wide like hannah did so it is kind of annoying having to push it in there LOL she is enjoying it though so i guess i will keep it up.
chelsea isnt crawling but god she is moving around. she can twist herself around in circles too, and move from one end of the rug to the other and back again.
it has been soooo hot here (brissy) so i got hannahs little clam pool out yesterday and they both had a splash. i went through hannahs old clothes and pulled out her first pair of togs, which fit chelsea. so cute! :-)
DP is so funny - he is extremely protective and is always the one making sure she isn't cold (or hot atm) and he almost runs on the rare occasion that she cries. He wasn't very good when I first started putting her in the cot to self settle even though she didn't really scream, was only whinging, and he reckons that she's too small to be in the cot by herself :D
I have been giving Alexandra extra feeds because of the heat. Pretty much whenever I sit down with a cold drink I will offer her a feed too. Is anyone giving their bubs water?
I bet that Chelsea and Hannah loved the water Hollo. I've been thinking about swimming lessons because we will be at my sister's for christmas and she has a pool. We're going to Russia for a couple of months to visit DP's family. He hasn't been there for 8 years so he is really looking forward to it and of course they can't wait to meet the baby.
We have been offering Immy water, just because I wanted her to get used to it before we brought in food and it has been super hot. Been giving extra feeds also.
We are heading to Sydney this weekend (leave Friday morning and get back Sunday night). Should be good. We are seeing my Grandparents (so Imogen's Great Grandparents) and some other family members!
