Becstar - so sorry to hear you are having bad time of it!! Thoughts are with u!
Luey - I am feeding my bub at night too now...Three times last night - He started sleeping through at 8weeks - so I have had months of freedom at night - but now - every night he wakes repeatedly. I am hoping it is just his teeth! Sorry no advice for you really - other than I know how it feels at the moment!
-
Oh I meant to add Luey I still feed at night too. Sometimes only once, sometimes 3 times.
-
Thanks girls. It is nice to feel like you aren't the only one. IRL everyone else's baby sleeps through most nights or if they do wake just gets water. I have been trying water a few times overnight and he does settle after. Last night after a dream feed at 11 he woke at 1, had water and bonjela then resettled until 3. Then awake at 5, resettled with water and bonjela. Awake at 6, fed and resttled then ready to start the day at 650! NOOOOO Doesn't he know it is saturday? I had a crap day Friday, tired and just feeling like a complete failure about stuff and decided I want(ed?) to go to Torrens house (SA's Tresillian). I have since found out that they don't do CC, you stay with them and let them cry:rolleyes:. Sorry, active settling.
Of course I ended up in tears to the CHN:rolleyes:. I called her direct rather than going through the parent helpline. I just didn't want to go through it all with them, they not know our situation and for them to say we will make an appt for you with your CHN. I am undecided as to whether we will go or not yet. The CHN is doign a home visit on Wed and I will talk about it with her. As Mel said James jsut started sleeping through because he wanted to. E sleeps well sometimes but not often. I may book in and decide what to do closer to the time. It will be a major hassle as it is over 6hours away and I start back at work 6th Jan. 2 days a week for Jan then mondays.
Mel good to hear from you
Hi to everyone else. I have a bellyache and a sore throat, possibly losing my voice so feel very crap.
HAve a good night
-
Becstar - hope all works out okay with you ;) Looking forward to seeing you back with us chicky!
Luey - sounds like you're having a bit of a rough trot too - sleepless nights and all. DD went thru a stage of sleeping through the night - but now maybe wakes up btw 3-4am for only half an hour or so - so I really can't complain. If it's any consollation when I wake up with DD I get that queasy morning sickness feeling, so that makes it a bit tough - and regardless of how much sleep I get - I'm still tired anyways!! ;) I hope the little one settles down for you soon! And I hope you're feeling better too!
Melbell - thank you for the congrats on the PG - I wonder what I'm getting myself into lol! But I'm looking forward to the time off of work, spending time with DD (who'll be about 18mths by then) - and of course the new edition.
Mum2willie - wow, three times in one night - thats a bit rough!! Just think of when he's a teenager and you can wake him up!! Ah yes, the tables will turn lol!
catherinemoses - I remember when DD was about 4 mths old (or 2 mths depend how you look at it) and she took ages to settle. I was just about doing my head in. She wouldn't take the bottle, and it wasn't just a cry - it was a scream. I found extra burping time worked some of the time, but the rest of the time there was nothing I could do but hold her and hopefully get her to sleep.
As bizarre as it sounds, since we've moved house DD has slept sooo much better. I look back at the last house we lived in and remember so many troubles that arose while we were there...I have a friend whose into the whole occult thing and she reckons the house had an unhappy spirit in it...:o Not sure if I believe that, but I can say we've had no troubles at all since being in our new house - bizarre...
AndiE - thanks for the list, I was out of the loop for a bit and always wondered who had what and when!! Good work girl!
AFM - I'm watching some 'surviving motherhood' show on Foxtel, and can't tell if it's DD crying or if it's some kid on the TV. I'm trying to keep noise down to a minimum as DP has worked 2 x 12 hr shifts - finishing at 6am, and is back off to work at 3pm this afternoon - and DP is a man that NEEDS his sleep. But pfft, if he doesn't get it then at least he'll be giving his work mates grrrrr, instead of me lol!!
I took DD to the WCH yesterday so they could cut the boil on the back of her head, but no, they gave a prescription and an appt to cut it on Thursday - if it hasn't popped and cleared itself by then.
I hope everyone's having a great weekend!
-
Just a quick poke my head in. Things are in a bit of chaos at the moment, Will has had a really long lasting cold. DH is off again on work and next weekend it's off to Perth for Christmas. Busy, busy, busy. So a big hi to everyone and hope your all doing well.
-
OMG you have got to be kidding me!!!! I just wrote a mammoth post and BB ate it! OMG I am so annoyed!
I'm going to have to post when Sam goes down for a nap because I am way to frustrated after that! It had taken me half and hour.

I've just skimmed again, sorry girls for not being around but you know how it is
have been thinking about routines & sleepling & sleepless nights. D is always more unsettled when he is teething for instance I have had to go back to rocking him to sleep again :wall: which at 11.5 kgs is not kind on my back
umm the night waking thing D is usually asleep by about 9.30 pm, he wakes up 30 mins later for a feed, lately he has been waking again b/w 1 & 2 am for a feed & then will still wake another 2/3 times until about 7.30am/8am when he is up for the day. In saying he wakes, he wakes for a feed & is back to sleep almost straight away. Sometimes he is still drinking 30 mins later most times it is only 10 mins or so. We are sleeping together still in the king single so it means that I don't really notice him wake up for a feed after 2 am but I feel him latch on IYKWIM? (I'm a bit of an insomniac atm & 2 am seems to be my current bedtime, can't even blame D anymore  )
So I have been thinking about routines as well & realised that we do have a routine but not like most peoples. I too have to go back to work at least 3 days a week in mid feb (only 2 months away :o where does the time go) which means I might have to change things even though I don't really want to...
anyway this is how our day looks like when we don't go anywhere
up about 8 am, usually has a feed before we get out of bed, we play for about 30 mins & then breakfast is usually toast or weetbix with play time again afterwards.
back to bed about 10, b/f - I lay down with him & it can take upto an hour for him to go to sleep.
up about 1pm, if it has been about 3 hrs since his last feed I will offer again before we get up but he doesn't always take it. Then we have some play time & it is lunch (about 30-60 mins after waking) usually some cheese, fruit & some bread & some play time.
back to bed about 3, same routine as before
then up between about 5/6pm & then it's the night routine, play, tea usually veges (zuchini, carrots, brocoli, pumpkin, sweet potatoe) more play, bath, more play & then bed about 8.30 & asleep by about 9.30
Now this is a typical day, on a bad day it is not unusual for D still to be awake & out of bed until about 10pm & asleep by about 11pm. We do have days when I go into town or visiting or whatever & that will throw his day sleeps out but not so much his night routine. We also go out for tea a few nights aweek & so that might push is bedtime out, he always eats with us so it is usually just a bath unless he is really tired then he will go straight to bed. If I don't sleep with him through the day he usually only sleeps for 30 mins, occasionaly he will sleep longer if it is his morning sleep.
So off to read a bit more thoroughly & will probably be back
bec sorry to hear things aren't going so well, hope they improve for you....
-
Bec I hope things improve
njd - a lot of the stuff I have read about sleep and settling reccommends an early bedtime for bubs. 7-8pm. Can you bring his bedtime back a bit and see what happens? Jsut try 10mins every few days to start or more if you can. I have found that since I have been getting up at 630/7 in the morning E is a bit more settled. This means he has his first sleep around 9/930. Maybe an hour, 2 if I am lucky. Second sleep is about 1-2pm. It depends how long he sleeps and how grumpy he is to when he gets put to bed. He has tea around 5-5.30ish then a bath. A Quiet play after the bath is the plan. Somehow it turns into noisy time in front of the tv with dad but I try. IT all depends how he is going. Some nights he is in bed and asleep at 530! Tonight though he was tired and whingy but wouldn't settle and was 8pm before he went to sleep after a top up bottle of 130ml:o. HE is still waking lots. a good night will be around 10, 1-2, and 5. I have found he is better when he goes to bed later 7-8. But sometimes it isn't possible.
Instead of rocking have you tried wrapping him again? I have for E and it has worked. I really doubted it would work, afterall we abandoned it at 4 months as he would fight it. Ithink it makes him feel more secure, rather than trying to shuffle his way up the cot. WE do sometimes have tears and crying but not for long and I am always with him. It just depends how much crying you are happy to put up with. E doesn't like being patted or touched but does like watching my hand pat the mattress. I go faster harder and louder when he is crying then get softer and more gentle until I stop. I sometimes rest my other hand on his chest over his hands so he can't fight the wrap. I don't hold him there, I think it comforts him. I do allow him to roll a bit.
HAve you tried lying him on a bed and rocking him that way?
If it is only when he is teething try to get some good teething gel. The Womens and Childrens hospital in Adelaide sells some which is apparantly much much better than bonjela or similiar. Try your local kids hospital and see if their pharmacy does similiar. I am going to try and get hold of some tomorrow. Will see if they will send some out to me or I will send my FIL in, but I do want it ASAP.
Good luck

Hi Ladies
Its been ages since I posted lasted. The kids and I have been in SA for the last 4 weeks with my Mum. Hubby was meant to be carting grain for the month but that didn't really happen. We flew back this arvo. The kids on the plane were pretty good.
There has been so much happening lately. Isabella is nearly 9 months and weighs over 10kgs and about 67cm long (I haven't had her weighed lately). You can't carry her for long withour getting tired. Isabella is in the same nappies as her brother who will be 3 on 17th March. I call her little miss pork chop.
Isabella isn't sitting up yet and can only roll to her left side but can't roll back yet. She has to get a swing up to get her legs over
I will chat up on personals later when I have time to sit down and really all the posts.
Take Care

Hello everyone!
Sam has decided to sleep in so I'm going to try this again.....
Sorry I have been so slack lately, no excuse really only that I have been trying to keep busy and in turn made myself very tired! Ive started a PND mothers group on Mondays and a playgroup on Wednesdays. It's been so good to meet more women in the area and just have people to talk to too.I hang out for those days!I'm still going well, very happy about that, pretty much feel normal apart from being overly tired and I think a mixture of things contribute to that, I'm working those out.
Sam is really well.He has 4 teeth now and is not quite crawling but is hopping along and pulling up in things. We have had a couple of good accidents from it!He is really into copying whatever I do, so cute! He says DADADA but no MAMA!
His sleeping is a little crazy atm, I can never tell what he is going to do.Yesterday he napped for nearly 3 hours in the morning and he never does that.He has been waking up to 4-5 times a night!grrr I just don't know what to do! I really want to continue co-sleeping with him but he is wriggling all over the bed and I'm not sleeping as well. It's a sad thing cos I really don't want to move him out.I think I'll bring the cot next to the bed and see how I go.
I'm going to be away from tomorrow until about Jan 8th,How will I cope without BB!We are going up to in laws farm for a few days before Christmas and having a family thing Christmas eve there, then Christmas morning drive 2 hours back to my parents and then boxing day up to NSW south coast.I am terrified of doing that drive with Sam.We are going to stop overnight both ways though so hopefully it won't be too bad.
Time for some personals, I;m not going to try and reply to 4 pages worth, just the most recent so if I miss you, Hello and Sorry!
Ewol, Welcome back.Gee Isabella has grown!Sounds very cute!
Luey,Your quiet time with E turning into loud time with Dad sounds exactly like my house!I'm still feeding up to 3 times over night as well, so you are definitely not alone.
Nic,Hope everything is ok and your getting some sleep.x
Bec, Hope things are ok and hope to see you back here soon.Did the BL's come? Thinking of you.xx
Leesa, welcome and hope to get to know you better!
Macca, hope things have calmed down and everyone is feeling better in time for Christmas.
Mum2willie, welcome and hope to get to know you more too!
Mel, that's fantastic about James sleeping! Hope it's still going well!
Catherine, How is everything? hope still no ms.How far now?it would be nearly three months?
I know, they are half ased personals! But I am so overwhelmed it's hard to do more that that!!
Hope you're all well and have a fantastic Christmas.

This time!
Cant believe we are up to here already. I love reading all y'all stories! Hawaii would be a lovely place for a holiday and Im so glad the boys behaved for you, makes life so much easier.
Bec - where in China is your MIL coming to teach?
Ollie has had an ear infection, the doc cleaned it and gave us drops to put in, then he got 3 days of fever, now he has cold and cough his brother bought home from kindy. Poor baby. We had just weened him onto bottle and now hes velcro baby with a passion for boobies again. He wont take more then 80mls from a bottle and I have minimal milk left. So just when he was getting good and heavy in time for his 9mth check he has lost weight again. I know he will bounce back, its just this has happened so many times with him. All routine has gone out the window, as we have had DS1 home from kindy with an awful cough. Tomorrow is games day at kindy, parent and kids play games together for the morning atleast. Its a good chance to see the other parents- not that I can talk to them, but I thinkit will still be great fun.
What routines do y'all have? Think now hes hit 9mth Ollies wanting to stay "up" longer but hes also very bored at home but its not possible to go out every day, its really cold here now. wont be a white xmas for us but mayb shortly afterwards.
What are everybodies plans for xmas?
-
Wow it's gone quiet in here ;)
thanks girls, things were a bit hairy there for a while, i've never been in that situation that intensely before so it was very confronting and draining afterwards. All is ok ;)
We are heading off to the IL's tomorrow...... Not looking forward to the long drive and FIL informed me that we don't need a turkey, it's just another day :o. I went and bought the turkey today on my own, BAH HUMBUG I say!! Makes me angry though, I'm trying to create wonderful memories of Xmas with my children and he just isn't into it at all. He could at least pretend. This is why I always find a reason not to go there for Xmas day but rather boxing day. This year I thought I'd do the right thing and go but I wish I hadn't. My fam always does a big Xmas, loads of food and good spirits, it's great. Ahh well.....my mantra is to 'focus on the kids, focus on the kids'. It will be great to see friends though, always is!
So I just popped in to say
Merry Christmas my lovely Ladies!! xxx
Will be back sometime in the New Year. Hope you all have a lovely one and will be thinking of you all. Can't wait to see all the post-1st Xmas pix :)

Merry Xmas!!!
Congrats Laura! Brilliant surprise.
Double Trouble - our routine has just changed recently and now looks like this:
* Wake 6am and BF
* Breakfast 7.30am
* Sleep 9am for 60 - 90mins
* Snack on waking
* Lunch 11.30-12
* Sleep 1pm for about 45-60mns
* 2pm BF
* Snack 3.30pm
* Dinner 5pm
* BF 6pm
* Bath 6.30pm
* BF and Sleep 7-7.30pm
Will has recently moved to two sleeps per day, dropped a breastfeed and I have up to 5 solids - in hope of stopping waking at night.
Will now has three top teeth as well as his two bottom teeth. But after 1 week off teething issues (and him only waking once a night and just needing a quick resettle) - the teething signs started again last night!!!
He is commando crawling all over the house and up on his hands and knees but still rocking - tries to move forward but falls to the ground. He is walking pushing along his new xmas toys!! Too cute! Bit wonky though!
Separation anxiety really strong at the moment - even with Daddy!
Hope you all had a great couple of days over xmas..
-
I hope you all had a wonderful christmas
Laura - :jawdrop::happyforyou: Congratulations.
Mum2 willie - my routine sounds pretty similiar to yours. Except I may have an extra feed in there plus E may have a bit longer sleep. Sometimes.
Melbel- glad you are ok
Bec- glad things have settled down. How were the outlaws?
Hi to everyone else
My poor monkey was sick last night (probably yesterday) and today. He wasn't settling and was whingy. I just thought it was teeth/unsettled due to the outlaws but last night I finally checked his temp and it was 38.5. Whoops. He had been getting panadol/nurofen. I wouldn't be surprised if he is teething though too. Dribbling soooooo much. I hope he is better tonight as I don't want to sleep on the foam mattress in his room again. We have vthe outlaws here so the spare beds are taken up. Icould have taken him into our bed but there was no point in bot hDH and I having a bad night . DH is still working, no time off so he needs his sleep.
How much do you stick to 'routine' when your Bub is sick? I am flexible but I do still try and get hm to sleep in the normal way. But I will relent and pick him up/bring him out when he won't settle. Although I do stick to the rule of not letting him have his dummy and often on the floor if he doesn't settle. I think my MIL thinks I am mean and strict but I don't want us sliding back too much. Plus there has to be an incentive to go to bed. HE loves his dummy and would have it all day if I let him. I might add he has had his dummy most of the day when up today and has had lots of cuddles/ attention.
-
Sorry
It been so long and I am very sorry, I just haven't been spending as much time online, and I must say things here have been much better at home ...but I figured I had better pop in before you all forgot who I was :p
Laura - Congratulations! I have had 2 complete surprises  :o....they are totally worth it :D
Bec - We haven't chatted in ages - what has been happening? I hope you are OK :comfort:.
CM - How have you been feeling?
Hmmm...there's one (??) more pregnant isn't there?
Our Christmas was good - very relaxed, other then DH going for a surf at 6am Christmas morning and DS#1 waking at 6:05am and me having to put up with screaming kids that wanted to open their presents till he got home . Christmas eve was spent at carols and Christmas day at DHs aunts house, Boxing day was at a friends house where our 4 kids and their 4 kids played reasonably well for a few hours.
We have been doing some deconstruction......DH pulled down the super dodgy back deck and will be putting new bearers and joists in the next few weeks, extending it past the old deck to make a floor for our extension plans. The actual extension is a way off yet but its a step in the right direction :D.....have to move some plumbing and put plans in with council....oh and save some more money, lol.
I started a vegie "garden" which atm is a few pots with tomatoes, parsley and lemon basil but I will be using some recycled hardwood and my flybuys $50 bunnings voucher to make a proper garden over the holidays. I am finding it quiet therapeutic to get out of the house with the kids and watch them play while I fiddle around.
My DS#1 started riding a bike without training wheels today - super happy and proud - he is riding with his bum up off the seat and doing jumps already, hehe.
Ari is cutting his 8th tooth and has started getting more confident with walking the furniture. He is still breastfeeding on demand and is still gaining weight despite his aversion of solids.
As I said I have been spending less time online - I seriously think I am too dependent on the internet...I barely have any irl friends anymore which is just silly really and I really need to get out and find my calling iykwim.
So I am around but not as much...Luv Yas. Hayley.
-
Wow - congratualtions Laura!!! I'm 8 weeks and 2 days, so we'll be due both about the same time (again) lol!!!
I am seriously wondering with Xmas, Easter and DD's birthday - where am I going to fit all these toys in our house?? She was spoilt rotten lol...I bet those with more than one kid know what I'm talking about....I don't know how you ladies do it??
Luey - Is E feeling better now? do you still have the outlaws at your place and have you managed to reclaim your side of the bed yet lol?
Where are you Becstar?? I hope all is okay with you chicky!
Hayley - I love the idea of the vegie garden, something I'd love to do, and I'm sure my dogs would help me dig up the vegies too.... :wall:
M2W - I wish I could say we have a routine in this house, I just sort of do what suits DD when it suits her ;). She is quite easy going and adaptable, but I just can't bear to wake her up when she is sleeping, she's soo cute! Does it throw the routine when you have to go out and about? Or do you plan those activities around DS?
I'm glad you're feeling better mel!
Hi to everyone else!! I must give DD her feed, she is starting to get a tad bit too noisy lol!!!
If I'm not back before hand - HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!
-
Leesa I am sorry I missed your BFP. Congrats.
E is still sick but hopefully he is improving. He is happily playing on the floor atm, with the dummy but I can have a break. Outlaws just left, is nice to have the place to ourselves. I almost had my side of the bed back, I did until 3 when E was just too unsettled and ended up on the mattress with me again. I had joked to DH that I would make him sleep on the mattress and I would have had he woken up but I thought it was too mean to wake him and send him out. He was surprised I didn't.
-
Congratulations!
to you ladys with buns in the oven. How exciting! And such a nice age gap for your kids.
Thanks for your routine M2W, Im trying to work out when to offer Ollie more food so thats been a help. He still isnt really into eating, but I think only having 1 tooth is delaying his ability to chew and inturn frustrating him, he hates being spoon fed still.
melbell45 glad your bug was just 24hrs, those bugs can be so awful
My mum and sister sent xmas pressies for the kids which we got on boxing day. The boys had so much fun ripping open the wrapping. Lulu got a play doh set which every time we leave the house he packs up, puts in the box and must take with him, so cute.
Ollies favourite toy is the box that his stacker blocks came in
What where the best toys your kids got- and what are the 1's they love the most?
-
Hi all,
Been ages since I've been online, so i'm waaaay behind on everyone's news. Although, I did manage to skim through a few recent posts and CONGRATULATIONS Laura - lovely news !!! Hope you're feeling well - take care.
I missed wishing everyone a merry Xmas - so just wanted to pop in and say 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'. Hope '09 is a brilliant one for you all.
We had a lovely Xmas day - it was so special to have our little boy here to share it with. My parents are also visiting from Tas, so it made the day extra special too. Cam got a few toys which he seems to be enjoying. My DH presented me with a beautiful watch ... he chose well!
Will pop back in at a later date to say G'day and do personals.
Hope everyone and their bubs are doing well. Happy New Year.
Andie xx
-
hi girls
just popping in to say Happy New Year for tomorrow ! how exciting that it will soon be our babies first birthday ! wow the time has gone so quick.
quick question for you, is anyones hair falling out more again ? mine is again for the last few weeks but im not sure why....
Melinda

A bit late but happy New Year to all.
Just adding to the trend I am also pregnant again. About 4 weeks along so bub should be here around September 11th. I am stoked that there are a few or us in this thread not all that far apart for the second time round.
Will is great and now has 8 teeth. He is able to chew and swallow now which is very scary. I still mash most foods though as I worry he might choke. We are still in Perth on holiday but back to Darwin on Sunday.
My best chrissy present was an Ellaroo sling. How on earth have I lived without it. Will is too big for his Jazz sling so having an adjustable one is great. I wear him on the back now which frees up my hands a bit more. The little fella loves sleeping in it too which is great when we are out.
Hi to everyone I will do personals when i get home,
-
Congratulations Macca79!!!!! Brilliant news!!! So exciting...
No problems for routine Double Trouble. My bubs doesn't really like being spoon fed much so I give him finger food mostly these days. If I spoon feed him, he has to have a spoon of his own too!!
-
Hi all!! Super quick post from me as I'm on my sister laptop while we are at the family shack.
Happy New Year to all, I can't believe how pregnant we were just a year ago!! Doesn't feel that long ago..... and CONGRATS to Macca and Laura adding to our new pregnancies :D I have to say it doesn't make me clucky at all, lol. But I'll still be excited to hear all your baby news and pregnancy updates!!
We are on holidays for a while, DH has 4 weeks off so we are staying at the family beachside shack. Just had Ben's b'day yesterday, he was 5 *sob*.
Anyway that's where I am, we had a great Xmas ans start to the NY.
Love to all, back in maybe a week.

Hope your christmas went well & that you all had a great new years....
I have been meaning to post but over christmas we (me and D) spilt tea over the keyboard, I did get a notebook for chrissy woohoo for me I just have been super slack & thinking I will post tomorrow....
well tomorrow I am going to Trisillian (a mother and baby unit) so I will be more MIA then usual. Will try to catch up when I get back.... will miss you girls.

Happy New Year
Everybody! Hope everybody is have a great time.
Becstar- Enjoy ur time at the beach house, sounds like a piece of heaven to me.
M2W- I also give bubs a spoon if Im going to attempt to do it that way. He would love to feed himself but as its winter here there is NO chance of that happening yet, will wait till summer then he can do it and make all the mess he likes, no trouble to change a singlet and nappy :)
Its getting really cold here now. Last year this is when we had the freak snow storm for 5 days. Wonder if it will snow this year? Its kinda rewarding when its so cold to have snow. DS2 has stopped going to kindy for about a month of holidays- chinese new year. Here they start kindy at 2, 5 days a week 8am-3.40pm. Its sounds hard out and I wasnt really sure about sending him for so long, but its better that hes there playing with kids his own age, learning stuff. Also alot of the kids here are looked after by the grandparents so its better for them to be at kindy then hang around the old people who just sit and talk all and hold the kids, if they go for a walk, they hold the kids, they spoon feed the kids, do everything for the kids. Not a great enviroment.
Here, when you have a new baby, they never put them down unless to sleep, no tummy time etc. My MIL had a hard job with me doing tummy time with Ollie, thought it was mean etc. When we had his 3/4 mth check doc said it was the 1st baby she had EVER seen that could hold his head up at that age. I was shocked , its pretty normal I thought, but I have since seen 12mth old babys that cant sit up by themselves, just always held and supported.
I dont know what to make of this kind of thing. Now I have learn to just accept that its how it is here and I cant change it. But some things you see never sit well- u know what I mean
-
Good luck at Tresillian njd. Would love to hear how you went and what they recommended!
Double Trouble - the cultural shift would really be challenge!!!!
Would love some advice from you ladies::: having trouble with Will sleeping at night!!! He slept through from 8 weeks old. Woke around 5 months and was hungry so solids fixed that about two weeks later.
But since his teeth started cutting he has only slept through a couple of times!!! On Sunday night he was up 8 times!!!! The last two nights at 1am and 4.30am. I am just BFing and putting him back so only up for about 40mins max. But am going back to work in two weeks (ARGGGGG!!!!!) and would love to get a decent sleep.
Seems like the last tooth has just cut - he cut the bottom two teeth in November. Two in the top in early December and just cut through the other two top teeth - finishing on Sunday night.
Will he just go back to his normal sleeping patterns? What can I do to help him sleep through? He just started sleeping through at 8 weeks! Each night he just slept for a bit longer and before you knew it he slept through.
Anyone else been doing this or worked through it! Would love suggestions...
Another question::: Going back to work in two weeks...Is there anyone out there BFing and back at work part time..What do you do? Love some practical advice..
Thanks...Chat soon

Hi gals,
Another quick post from me - life will return to normal next week when DH returns to work and my parents return to Tassie. Will be able to post a little more regularly then.
Just wanted to say a huge congrats to Macca. It's lovely news - hope you are feeling well! You girls who are expecting again are starting to make me feel clucky :D! We're hoping for another early-mid next year. Fingers crossed!
Hope all your new years celebrations went off with a bang. We managed to stay awake till almost 1am ... then our darling little man woke us at 6am :o. We shoulda known!
Catch you all later.
Two quick PS's:
Mel - no hun, no hair falling out here, stopped about 2 months ago. Hope it's just a short-term thing for you.
M2W - Am hoping to BF after I return to work (approx 12 weeks) - aiming for early morning and night time BFs only, so currently gently reducing no. of BFs a day (now 3-4, down from 5-6). Of course, Cam STILL doesn't have any teeth, so my attitude to BFing could change significantly when he finally cuts a tooth or two.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick one from me as I'm on my parents laptop that has the worst battery ever.
Macca, a huge congratulations! Go little Satay!
Njd, good luck today, I hope it helps with everything and gives you the break you need.My only advice about the mbus is don't let them pressure you into doing anything you are not comfortable with, tell them what you want and tell them to work like with that. The one I went to put quite a lot of pressure on me to do CC but it was something I wasn't comfortable with.Everyone is different, but only do what feels right.xx
I'll be back to post more at the end of the week when I'm back home.

Macca - YAY. Huge congrats. I love my pikkolo is great for back carries. I wore it to a beach party and E fell asleep eventually. Only problem was it was cold so Istole DH jacket but was a bit tight around the shoulders after leaving a gap for E.
All I can say is I am so not clucky. IF we have another in the very distant future it will be pre-ordered so it sleeps, does not have reflux, colic etc. Plus it will be deilivered via teleportation or prefereably the stork:lol:.
njd - good luck at tresillian. I hope you get some success. I am on the wait list for Torrens house in Adelaide.
Things are just not improving here and I am pretty frustrated. I am up 2 hourly sometimes more. I know TH don't do CC. You stay with the baby and they cry . But that I can handle if it is for a greater good. Getting him to settle is not always the problem - it is the staying asleep. Of course our other option is sellign E on ebay  (joking).
I have returned to work, one day this week and 2 days for the next 2 weeks then will revert to mondays and not public holidays. I figure ti is the best of both worlds for the moment. If more care is available or our circumstances change I might work more but at the moment it is a bit difficult

Hi all,
Goodness me, I've suddenly got a quiet house - DH and our 2 dogs are outside, Cam is asleep and my parents are back home in Tas. That can only mean one thing ....   Sigh, any minute now, DH and dogs will come through the door and Cam will wake up.
I'm not going to get a chance to catch up with personals at the minute, but I hope you and your bubs are all well, particularly our growing list of expectant mums!
I took Cam to be weighed on Tuesday (almost a month since his previous weigh in) ... and he only gained about 100g in that time. In fact it's probably taken him 3 months to go from 8kg-9kg. He's now 9kg and 75cm. I'm not overly concerned about his teeny weight gain - he's a happy, healthy looking little boy, but the CHN suggested I start using full cream milk to make up his morning cereal and custard etc. I was a bit worried it might upset Cam's tummy, but so far, so good. He's still BFing approx 3-4 times daily - and otherwise I've been giving him water to keep up his fluids. CHN suggested I start giving him at least one bottle of formula a day too. She said water's great, but doesn't help to "fatten him up". Will see how it goes for a couple of weeks and get him weighed again. I know babies gain weight much more slowly at this age, so I'm not stressing or shovelling food in his mouth every five minutes :p.
In other news, Cam looks set to crawl very soon - he's on his knees and constantly rocking back and forth. Unfortunately (... or fortunately) he's yet to work out that he has to move his knees forward, not backward - cos the only direction he's moving in at the moment is in reverse. And he still doesn't have teeth - think he may be the last March 16-31 baby to sprout teeth? Again, no worries. He'll get them when he's ready.
OK, got a few things to do while Cam is asleep, so I'll be back later to attempt personals.
Andie xx

AndieE interesting stuff re Cam's weight gain. My bub has taken 4 months to get from 8 to 9Kg! In the past nurses have told me that's ok...will be seeing another nurse soon so I wonder what she will say!

Lost my post!!! GRRRRRR
Just quickly, Andie Jake hasn't gained either much, he's yet to crack the 8kg mark. And he has no teeth at all either.
Nic hope your tresillian stay went well.
Mel did get your texts, sorry no credit.. will call when I can now we are finally home for good!!!

Hi All
I don't get much time to post anymore. Hubby is away at the moment in Qld working for the next couple of weeks or more.
Its been that long since I posted, I can't remember what I have written. Sorry if i repeated myself.
Isabella is now sitting up and has got 1 tooth with more on the way. Its the one up the top next to the big middle one on her left. Its an odd place to get a first tooth but then both my kids have never teethed in the normal way - if there is a normay way. Isabella is trying her hardest to get on her hands and knees but she is too chubby  to do so.
We have been seeing a speech therapist for Riley as he has a severe communication disorder. He says alot single words but no sentences. Most of my time is taking up by him teaching him to talk. We are trying to get him extra funding at preschool which will help. I have been onto centrelink and I am trying to a carers assistant which will help send Riley to school for an extra day.
On top of all that we are building the house and the slab has been poured and then the bank decided it wasn't going to give us the loan, so I have been onto a mortgage broker to see whether we can get another loan. I have a guy coming today to valuate the house. Its been one big sh*t fight. I have had enough
I will get a few personals done today before the man get here
A big congratulations to Macca79, Leesa and Laura. Hubby wants to have 3 kids and I wanted two but lately I have found that I would seriously considering having #3
Hope everything went well at Tresillian NJD
Hi to everyone else
Anyway I have to go as the man has just arrived
Take Care

Hi all,
As of three days ago, Cam is finally crawling - I'm currently trying to work out if that means  or :boohoo:. This kid is getting into everything. I move something (ie/ dog bowl) and he discovers a pot plant. Move the pot plant - he finds the recycle bin fascinating. At this rate, I'm fast redecorating in the "minimalist" genre. As I type, he's just decided to try and chew the sandal I'm currently wearing. GROSS!
OK, little whinge over. I'm actually happy to see Cam crawling about and discovering the world around him. Even if that means tasting sandals (well, as long as they're my sandals!). He's 10 months old today - man, I can't believe how quickly that time has gone.
Bec - didn't realise Jake didn't have teeth either! I thought we were on our lonesome. Wanna have a wager on which boy will sprout teeth first :p. How's things otherwise in your neck of the wood?
M2W - from what I can gather our bubs gain weight very slowly once they become mobile. For the first six-eight months it felt like I was buying Cam new clothes every few weeks, he went from 0000 - 0 so quickly. At least he's had lots of wear out of size 0 and some size 1s!!!
Luey - how's things with E? Hun, you need a medal for your stamina if you're able to get up to E every couple of hours at night and still be able to function, particularly now you're back at work. You're doing a great job, and judging by the Xmas pics of E you emailed, he looks like a happy little boy. Well, at the very least those pix will make a great Ebay advertisement :p.
Nic - how did you get on at Trisillian?
Hayley - how's the "deconstruction" coming along? I saw on FB where you were down to one child for a day or several (can't recall) ... how'd you go? Heaven on a stick, or a bit weird without the usual kiddie action?
Doubletrouble - any snow yet? Wow about the 12mo babies unable to sit up by themselves. What's thought of as "normal" here obviously has different variations in diff countries.
Melinda - has your hair stopped falling out? How's James going with his sleeping these days?
CM, Laura, Macca and Leesa - hope you're all feeling well and not suffering with morning sickness too badly.
Nina - How's Cohen?
Jo - yay for Isabella sitting and getting a tooth. Won't be too long before she's crawling, I'm sure. Riley is lucky to have a mummy (and daddy) willing to devote time and energy to helping him - good luck with everything. Don't blame you about the house stuff - I bet you're over it. Good luck with the mortgage broker.
Hi to anyone else I may have missed.
Hope those of you sweltering in above average heat are coping ok. Bec I hope Tassie warms up a bit as I hear it's "jumper weather" in Hobart!
Cheers all, Andie xx

Hi all :)
I'm such a terrible poster  I just don't get the time to sit and type what I want so I don't bother. I'm sorry. At the moment DH is STILL on holidays and is driving me absolutely bonkers.......I can't wait for him to go back next week. anytime I sit to check email or anything I get told off for being on the computer too much......grrrrrr!!
Luey, TH sounds like it could be good, i'm also reaching a point like that with Jake. although we aren't awake nearly as much as you are! I just can't bring myself to leave the room while they scream but I'm all for a hands-on settling now. For me the difference is I can now see and hear what is a tantrum cry and what is a truly broken cry. The tantrum ones I'm very experienced with and have a heart of stone on, lol. What I've been trying the last couple of days is instead of patting him to sleep in m y arms, i've been sitting on my bed with my tri-pillow in front of me on the bed. After a BF I lay him down on the pillow facing me with him legs still on me kind of and pat him from there. In my theory this is the transition to patting him to sleep in hhis cot. this way he's still right there with me, just not in my arms iykwim? GL with it, can't wait to hear how wonderful life is when you return ;)
So......preggie ladies....how are you all doing?? What's the news? Anyone got MS? How are you all finding being pg with another bub to take care of?
Yay Cam on the crawling and Isabella on the sitting :) Good work guys!! Andie i took Jake to be weighed today, and i had a little giggle when I saw the scales....he was a whole 8.01kg  We have 5 teeth sitting under the gum surface but they are so very slow to cut!! One is beginning, it'son the top on his left. I can see like a cut in the gum where it's pushing but no shiny white pearler yet!
So as some of you know....the house fell through :( Still very angry with the bank, it was bound to happen anyway (in hindsight, we've since shopped around and no one can help us) but I met with them 3 times and each time they told me we could have X amount and to go sign a contract. So we did. PFFFFFT!!! NOT HAPPY JAN!!! I'm ok with it, happy to be staying in the area we are in, and that Ben can go to the school i wanted him to. I'm also very hopeful I'll be able to pick up most of the relief work going at his school, seeing as my Aunty isn't working during the week anymore......yay! :) I have an on-call babysitter again.
Not too much more I don't think......oh wait yes there is!! It's a grumble though!! Remember the wedding I was in?? Well the day before I dropped in and picked up my dress. All ok. Had the wedding rehearsal, all ok again. Back at Mum's (we stayed there) she said at 5:30pm that night, "try on your dress, JIC it doesn't fit". So I did. Now we all know I was already stressing it wouldn't fit. Over Xmas I was feeling a little uh.....uncomfortable in my clothes but still thought I'd make it. Well NUP. NO WAY NO HOW!!!! I thought mum was joking when she said she couldn't zip it but to me horror she wasn't. So I raced the dress back down to the shop and was so humiliated that I had to have it taken out a good 3-4 inches!! I kept trying to rationalise that I'd missed a feed and that must be it but I think that was a long shot! on the day it fitted ok but I saw the photos and am so humiliated all over again. OMG!!! The weight MUST come off. So no more indulging for me.No more night snacking. I'm teeing up a few walking dates a week with a friend and I know if I'm sensible I can drop it. It always take a horror moment to get me into gear. the wedding was ok, I haven't seen or heard from the bride in years. But we are old friends so it was kinda nice. Interesting crowd though. I never wear makeup IRL so to have makeup on and especially around my eyes I'm sure I looked like a drag queen, lol. For a laugh look here . I'm the dark haired short fatty, lol.
anyway i have peace, kids are asleep, DH has gone fishing (TG!!!). I'm going to watch some telly and fold washing.

Leuy - I completely understand where you are coming from at the moment. Just went back to work this week, but Will is up over 5 times a night - Last night was 7.30 (up till 9ish), 10.30, 12.30 3am, 6am. Got hubby 2 take him to DR today to make sure not medical prob...but he was aok. I am absolutely at my wits end. When he woke at 3am, I had 1 hour of broken sleep so far. In the end, I just put him in bed with me to get some sleep for work.
We had the same scenario roughly the night before. So I have had approx 6 hours sleep over two nights!!!
He was a brilliant sleeper- slept through from 8 weeks for 10 hrs straight until he was 8 months! Now he is absolutely terrible and just seems to be getting worse. It is like he has completely lost the ability to self settle!! I really don't know what to do...but something has to give if I am working!
Anyone else been in the same boat -what did you do....Chip in with any suggestions please!
So Leuy - I understand! I hope you are coping ok!!!!
