Ah Huh! I think I know why Jazz has been so difficult the last couple of weeks! I was just doing a bit of research and remembered about wonder weeks. What did I find out: Approx 36 weeks is one of the "wonder week" times. Jazz is about 35 weeks. I think she's starting to settle down now so I should see a big change with her soon I think...maybe she's about to start crawling!
got back yesterday, am missing everyone back in m'sia but good to be back w steve too.
quick one to let you all know, we just went to woolies and we got a fisher price poptivity table for $30. there's heaps of toys there, cheap. lakshman's pulling himself on everything so the poptivity table is great for him.
will do personals later on tonight.. cooking din din..
We have had a busy week but managed to stick to the new routine pretty well and it is working!
I set the alarm for 7 am and get up and give Caitlin her first bottle (sometimes she is awake already and sometimes we have to wake her up). She then plays on her mat for an hour.
8am we give her breakfast. (she has started refusing most of her solids now, all I can get her to eat is Yoghurt, Cantaloupe, Waterlemon, Cheesy Pops & Pureed Apple, Pear and Apple & Mango). She is not having the 2 courses as recommended but the routine is still working.
9.20am - She goes down for her first sleep. She usually falls asleep within 10 minutes and sleep from 30 to 60 minutes.
11.00am - Bottle (because she is eating less solids, I have upped her bottle to the next level which works out at 220ml. Out of 4 bottles she will drink 220 twice and the other 2 bottles she usually drinks about 180.
12.00pm - Lunch - whatever I can get into her.
1.20pm - Bedtime - falls asleep within 10 minutes and sleep from 40 minutes to 2 hours, averages about 1hr though.
When she wakes from sleep she gets a bottle.
5.00pm - Dinner (again whatever I can get into her but dinner is the worst meal to get her to eat, she refuses most things I offer including the stuff she likes.
6.00pm - Bath or wash (only bathing her every 2nd day)
6.30pm - Bottle
7.00pm - Bed - Most nights she goes straight down but occasionally she has been fighting it and doesn't go down until 8pm but even when it is 8pm we still get some time off.
I have gone out a couple of times when it is her sleep time and she will fall asleep easily in my arms or in the pram - its magic!
We had a wedding on Saturday and left Caitlin with a friend and although she cried a little at bedtime she went down without too much fuss.
We had her Baptism on Sunday and during the ceremony (right at her scheduled sleep time) she fell asleep in my arms and didn't even wake or flinch when they poured the water on her head! It was so cute, she was out cold!
Caitlin started crawling properly (very slowly though) yesterday and she finally started saying mumma today although when she did say it she screamed it because she was stuck somewhere - it will be nice when she says it nicely.
SJ - When we catch up, you should come over to my place and then the girls can crawl around together and play! Sounds like MJ was lucky with the snowboard - it just shows you how many things in our houses could cause them harm. Scary really.

Danni - Glad you had a nice weekend away.
Shell - Caitlin tries to launch herself off our bed to get things on the side table. I think they must think they can crawl on air. At least DJ landed well and didn't hurt himself - hope he is feeling better also.
Bron - Will sounds like a machine! He must be going to be an outdoorsie boy! I know what you mean about thinking your floors are clean - I don't have time to mop and sweep them everyday so I think I am just going to be soaking all of Caitlin's clothes for a bit until she is walking! (which I am not wishing will come too soon though!)
Better go, Mark is complaining that I am not giving him any attention!
Jo, Great routine. I want to get some routine happening when I'm at home. She's got a routine of sorts at daycare and I try to have one on the weekend. Matt has no routine with Jazz on Fridays when he has her, he gets a little stressed but manages. He does keep forgetting to give her solids though...even though I put them out and ring him to remind him.
Last night I was changing Jazz's nappy (a time when she babbles the most) and she was laying there going "ma.......ma" a few times but then there was lots of "dadda" She's started saying "dadda" with her tongue out so it sounds a bit more like "labda" sometimes

Hope you are all well :) I am pretty good, and DJ is good. I started him on some probotics and they seem to be helping so far, last night he slept much better as well. I wanted them to strengthen his immune system since he is always getting sick. He is even eating more of his solids now which is good. Today at daycare he had half a banana (just my luck, I hate banana!!) and a full tub of yoghurt and a teething rusk..... Tonight I gave him a little bit of fish, tried pasta again (still gags and throws up on lumpier foods......arghhh) and then some banana and rice cereal which he loved.
Went to community nurse on Monday to ask about his solids etc.... He is now 8.6kg and 71cm long with head circum of 45.5cm..... It is funny coz last time I went to chemist to get him checked the lady measured him wrong, she said he was 76cm long when he is only 71cm long..... haha I think she must have stretched his foot out.... Nurse said I need to introduce as many solids as I can, even if it is just tastes, and lots more finger foods. She also said to give him meatballs mashed up until they are fine little granules. also have to get him to drink water, he won't drink it so trying it everyday now, until he drinks some.....
Jo - love the routine, sounds like it is going really well. DJ is also very fussy with his solids as well, drives me nuts as well, but I just try to be patient. How much does Caitlin sleep overnight? Does she wake early morning for feed, or just 7am??
Prama - we will need to organise catch-up sometime soon, what are you up to next week Monday????

hi girls, sorry for not doing personals last night.
poopy cries as soon as he goes to bed now and last night it went on for a while. decided to try CC cos he was just not sleeping thru the night, waking up every hr.
it was so heartbreaking to hear him cry but he did fall asleep eventually and slept longer last night. but dunno if it was cos of cc or he was tired from crying. this is our last resort.
maybe it's cos he's pulling himself up and starting to 'cruise' a little, holding onto things, maybe it's a development thing, he's not sleeping well at all.
shell - im free next monday, sounds good! hope dj goes back to his solids full time.. will he take sweeter vegies like pumpkin, sweet potato etc?
i got some tiny pasta, star shapes made from semolina from a market in eastwood. it's tiny so poopy eats it easily. i think they might have them at harris farm. what type of pasta are you using. i was using regular pasta but had to break them up before cooking so decided to get these tiny ones when i saw them.
poopy's saying some words like 'amma' (mum), appa (dad) tata(grandpa), baba (bye bye), elu (hello) or at least i t hink he is!
sorry will try to do personals tomorrow, been getting constant bad headaches, must be from the severe lack of sleep.... im so exhausted.
oh, poopy now grabs our face and gives us big slobbery kisses and also chews on my chin! lucky he doesnt have any teeth!

Shell - I know it's really early to start asking questions, but can I ask which probiotics you are using and where you got them? My DD is having some major wind pains and a friend of mine suggested pro-biotics... also, like your little one, our DD has had a bad run of colds and flus over the last couple of months (she's been a bit more sensitve since she had RSV at 4 months and we wound up in the hospital...)

SHell often the first year in child care can be full of colds unfortnatley but it does get better. Try and keep a record in your blue book of when he gets sick as well so if later on you need to back up requests for anythign you have it all written down. We keep track at child care too so it helps for cross infection.
I am feeling ok after Monday though arms are a bit sore as it took 5 canual holes to get one to stick then the dam thing blew out and my arm puffed up.I was pretty exhasuted when I came home and slept for a while as Nick was home with Will but then got a major steroid rush and was cleaning the house till 1am *L*( I get a large push of steroids as well as the other drug)
Still I am on a 7th of the does I was last time which is amazing so I hope it has the same affect. Next week Iwill go up to the main hospital and they use the ultrasound to find a good enough vein for the canual as I no longer have my portacath.
SHell Am sorry your having trouble with DJ's solids it makes you worry when they dont eat huh. I know when Wills teeth are giving him curry he goes off as well and I find i am giving him extra bottles then after a few days he is fine.
He is eating pretty much everything we are now and I just mush up what we had like the lamb roast dinner we had including cauliflower and brocoli cheese sauce, lamb, gravy, peas,roast pumpkin, potato and sweet potato. He had spag bol last night I just cooked the pasta a good while longer and chopped it up fine.I did give him all the roast veges in his hand when we actualy ate dinner though they were cooled and nice and soft so maybe try giving him what your having just more cooked. DOes DJ have a sippy cup? on of those non drip ones I gave WIll an empty one ages and ages ago to play with and slowly added water to it and he holds it really well. I leave it out where he can get it any time of the day maybe if DJ plays with one for a while and then he might start taking water from it. Anyway these few things worked for me I hope they help I am always trying out the stuff you guys are all doing here *L*
Prama hun those headaches dont sound good I do hope you get some more sleep and some time for you. ANd am hoping for you that poopy gets back into routine and some sleep it must be so hard.

Lily - welcome to the group :) sounds like we are going through the same thing. DJ has had bad wind since he was 2 weeks old..... haha poor darling..... hoping the probotics will work. The brand is Totally Natural and it is called "Pro-Immune Boost" it is designed for babies and kids and can be taken from when they are 4 months old. it can be added to breast milk, formula or other milk. Hope it works for you. Since DJ started taking it he is sleeping alot longer than normal so hopefully I am onto something good :) fingers crossed.....
Prama - oh cool, lets meet up on Monday then..... Westfield Parramatta? or somewhere else?? He is getting better with solids, so just keep giving him things to try so hopefully he will be back full-time on solids with his milk. Still drinks his milk and is drinking alot more of it even after a feed so that is good. The pasta I bought was the Bellamy Organic brand, brown rice pasta. It is only tiny but still didn't like it. He doesn't like things too lumpy.....
Bron - glad things went well for you and bonus on the steroid rush cleaning the house haha and yeah DJ has a sippy cup, it is the Nuby non-drip one.... so maybe I will just do that, put it in front of him to play with it and hopefully he will eventually drink out of it by himself :)
Anyway better go, having mothers group at my place today so better finish getting organised. Also need to take something out for dinner tonight.

Shell, I need to try giving Jazz water too. She hasn't taken it. I put it in a bottle for her and she grabs the bottle thinking it's formula and doesn't like it when it's just water that comes out. I'll have to keep trying and get the daycare lady to try.
Hi girls. Sorry I haven't posted for ages but I have been dropping in to keep up with you all.
Paddy is going great. He's not crawling forward yet but it's hilarious watching him try to work it out. He loves the jolly jumper and goes nuts when he's in it. I took a video but don't think I can load it on BB. I've been a bit slack and haven't had his 8mth check yet. I hate having to do appointments! On my measurements he's 10kgs 73cm. I don't have any trouble getting him to eat his solids! He's not sleeping as well now that he can move around easily. I'm hoping he start self settling again once he's able to crawl. He's learning so many different things at the moment he just wants to be into everything. Still can't get rid of his excema. It seems to get better as the wather gets warmer. Does this happen with anyone else?
Shell I've been offering water for a couple of months and had to try a couple of sippy cups to find ones that he likes. I'm still bfing so he doesn't need a lot but is starting to drink more.
Bron glad to hear your meds a finally happening. I think I need a steroid rush here!
Teach - So good to hear from you :) MJ is not self settling much anymore, she has been properly crawling for about 8 days now, although she is sleeping a bit better.
As for the ezcema, i find that it is worse in the heat, although MJ is not suffering badly from it.

RE - Water , CMHN told me to try and get MJ to drink from a cup or a medicine cup as its easier for them to swallow. I dont realy need to be giving her any water either due to BF, but would like her to start taking some so that she will use to it in the heat of summer (although the BM should adjust too)
MJ is 7.9kg and 70cm long on last check which was last week
Bron, bugger about the cannula's and then your vein blowing what a bummer, will they consider something more long term JIC? even a PICC???

Re Water - Caitlin thinks her sipper cup is a toy! She sucks the water out and then spits it out and gets completely soaked. I like to hope that she is swallowing some of it and it will only get better! If she is not covered in spew she is covered in water!

Sj I opted out of a picc, long or short line as my arms are just a real mess I have had 6 picc lines before and when I had Will I had a short line in. I figured that for the 4 weeks treatment that I could put up with them poking around for veins. It doesnt bother me so much anymore more frustration than anything. Only thing I dont like is the guys that want to use local first as I bruise more becasue they feel they can poke aorund harder ( well I guess they can) and unfortunatley the golden veins are in my elbows thank goodness its not a cytotoxic drug so the blow out resulted in tissue elargement and not burning. They will use the ultrasound next week to get it straight away and I will ask for the dex to be pushed instead of diluted so much.Shoul donly take 3-4 hours instead.
Long term I am hoping this will give me another 3 years remission so wont have to worry about more canulas :-) I do have the most amazing lupus like rash across my face though very stunning but starting to fade a little.

i make some similar stuff to what we're eating but because poopy eats at 5.30, 6pm it's hard to cook the same for us. i'd have to start cooking really early. sometimes i prepare the same stuff for us and him, then cook his stuff first. other times i make difference. and we dont decide what to have for dinner till steve gets home. but we'll have to change once i go back to work and poopy's in day care. i made polenta with vegies for dinner for him and he seemed to like it.
shell - monday sounds good, westfields will be ok. hehe i might have that crepe i had the last time.. it was yummy. where shall we meet?
really hope he gets back to his solids... it's worrying when bub doesnt want to eat properly.

Prama - yes, we were in the same pregnancy Belly Buddies group (and the same TTC group too I think). It's been a very long time since I've been on BB. Our computer collapsed just after our daughter was born and I was so busy I didn't even really notice, but boy am I glad that I have a working computer again!!!
Shell - sounds like we are definitely in the same boat!!! Our Little Miss wont eat much of anything at the moment - loves yoghurt and avocado and turns down just about anything else. Burps and farts all the time - very unladylike! Will get on to the pro-biotics though - so glad to speak to someone who is using them.

A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC or PIC line) is a form of intravenous access that can be used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. for long chemotherapy regimens, extended antibiotic therapy, or total parenteral nutrition). First described in 1975,[1] it is an alternative to subclavian lines, internal jugular lines or femoral lines which have higher rates of infection. Subclavian and internal jugular line placements may result in pneumothorax (air in the pleural space of lung).
A PICC is inserted in a peripheral vein, such as the cephalic vein, basilic vein, or brachial vein and then advanced through increasingly larger veins, toward the heart until the tip rests in the distal superior vena cava or cavo-atrial junction.
Its not worth the risk of infection for me to have one in for such short bursts of treatment as I dont have any neutrophils to fight the infections off. Besides they can be uncomefortable.
I have treatmen tint he cancer clinic next to the hospital much nicer than being i main hos.
Hi all, hope you are all well, lots going on here as usual.... Im trying to get my life together at the mo. Mum has moved so my support has gone to the poo working still but its hard cos i have to rely on EX and lucky he is being good but when he goes away im screwed. I have started to wean Summer not that i really wanted to yet but she has finally started taking a bottle and now thinks booby is too much hard work like all my girls have done but early morning feed she likes to come in bed and have a bf. Plus i can have full weekends or just nights to myself now (not that i have been able to leave her yet).
Summy now has 5 teeth nearly 6 the 6th is not quite there yet and is a top front one so she got her eye teeth and one front one looks funny. She has now discovered how to get out the back yard, if the girls leave the back door open she is out there in a flash she loves it,

Wow! 5 teeth already! Least she's getting them out the way quickly. I think Jazz's 3rd is about to pop through, I was feeling her gums and felt a bump like the other 2 before they popped through. One of the front top teeth. She slept well last night, I put her to bed at 8, then she woke at 10 and Matt tended to her. I told him after he changed her nappy to put her back in the cot and give her the bottle in the cot so that she falls asleep easier and doesn't get unsettled when she gets put back to bed...it worked like a charm and she slept all night until I woke her up at 7:15 this morning. Our daycare lady said that she made Jazz stay awake through her morning nap yesterday and only let her sleep 1.5 hours in the afternoon to try and get her to sleep better at night for us...it worked!

JO - are the milk feed times different for BF babies? there is NO WAY that i could only feed MJ 4 times in a day...
i have started to adjust to some of the times that you listed - more the bed time and going to be 1 hour earlier is sooooo much better for her, you wouldnt think that they would sleep better by going to bed earlier, but there you go.
The biggest problem is the timing of the feeds.... i alsmost need to give her either a feed before the lunch time nap and put her down later or give her one when she wakes up from that sleep. Actually i think i will try and put her down now and then give her a booby feed when she wakes up.
Oh yeah, sounds like a great idea meeting at your house, its a bit hard to have 'coffee' when all they want to do is crawl around!
let me know when suits you, tuesdays and thursdays are no good for me....

Im trying not to put her down alseep, so she goes in her cot, but i end up having to pick her up and rock her to sleep as i wont let her cry in her cot, CC doesnt sit well with me... any advice anyone???
It is the same routine whether they are BF or bottle. Maybe if she can't go the distance between feeds then she isn't getting enough milk? I don't know I am no expert!
Re controlled crying. The author Tizzie Hall doesn't believe in it either. Basically you put them to bed and if they cry only go in if it is an emotional cry. If it is a protesting cry then you leave them as they are not really upset. You leave them for 18 minutes (minimum) - if they stop protesting for 5 seconds or more then the 18 minutes starts again. If they are still crying after the 18 minutes you go in and soothe them and you stay with them for 46 minutes or until they go to sleep. If they are still protesting after 46 minutes you get them up for a 10 minute break and then you start again.
On the first night, it took us sitting with her for the 46 minutes before she went to sleep. On the second night it only took sitting with her for 20 minutes. On the third night she went down without a fight. Occasionally she wakes up after an hour and we just go in and soothe her and sit in there until she goes back to sleep usually no more than 20 minutes.
If Caitlin is crying with tears and obviously sobbing, we get her up and cuddle her until she settles down and then try putting her down again after 10-15 minutes and she usually goes down on the second attempt.
can you pat her in the cot sj? Summer went through months of pulling herself straight up to stand in the cot even if she was so tired she still does it but if i sit there and pat her she usually goes to sleep.

jo/sj - this is what we've been doing the last couple of days.. isn't this CC?
we used to pick him up each time he cried and he'd calm down and fall asleep then as soon as we put him down he'd cry again. sometimes we've had to hold him for a couple of hrs int he middle of the night, but he'd still cry as soon as we put him down.
so we thought we'd try this: it's CC isnt it?
when he cries we go pat him till he calms down. first let him cry for 3 mins, then go pat him...then 5, go pat him, then 10, 15 till a max of 20mins. he stops crying hwen we pat him, then as soon as we stop or walk out the room he cries again. it's very hard. the other night he just cried for the 20mins and finally fell asleep himself.
i sat in the lounge room and cried too. it was so hearbreaking cos he was really really crying, sobbing. i could see on the baby monitor that he's pulled himself up and holding onto the cot and looking at the door and crying. but it's not an emotional cry, he just wants us there w him.
and then he wakes up again a several times at night. it's so exhausting.
he normally falls asleep as im giving h im his last milk feed. so i thot maybe he gets upset cos he falls asleep in my arms and wakes up in his bed. so tonight, he fell asleep in his cot. so maybe things will change. but i guess also cos we've been travelling to malaysia and so much changes, might have caused everything to go crazy for him.
i really dont know what to do anymore :crying:
we go to tresillian residential care in january, i hope i can stay sane till then, im super exhausted and going crazyy.
anyway, on a funnier note, the MG girls and i went to a playcentre (shell, it's near you, at annangrove road, cotton kids) and we put poopy and this other baby girl close together and he went close to her, touched her face and kissed her cheek!!! hahahahahah
I worked something out today... Jazz says "dadda" all the time when she's happy but doesn't seem to say "mum" unless she's upset. Why does dad get happy bub and mum get sad bub? LOL
Managed to get her to sleep easily tonight. She was heaps tired so I went and changed her and put her in something a bit warmer coz tonight is going to be cooler than the last 2 nights, then put her in her cot and offered her the bottle which she wasn't interested in. Gave her a dummy instead, held one hand while I gently stroked her head, she was out like a light in about 3 mins!
She was sliding backwards tonight and ended up half in our cat's bed!

Danni -You are really lucky. You have a perfect baby. One bad night here & there is nothing. Jesse still wakes at least twice a night. More if he's in the cot.
SJ - BF bubs usually feed moreoften coz ooby juice is so good for them it digests very easily & doesn't keep them full for as long as FF for that reason. Solids helps, but BF/FF is still their main source of goodness.

Jesse loooooves his water. He has a sipper cup thing, but its got a sofft teat on it. He has a hard id onetoo, but I don't think he gets anything out of it. I have also just used a normal cup. As I said, heloves it. If I start I can't stop.
He throw's tanty's now. Throws his head back with the poo's & screams! It's funny, & it hurts! He's standing on everything he can & has a new best mate. Wally, mum's pup. They eat, play & explore together!

re the feeding, my CMHN says that she should not have dropped any of her BF yet (maybe around 10 mths) and it is usual for at this age for them to pick up an extra one overnight.
Supply is not an issue, the ony possibility is that she gets really distracted when feeding (she just wont sit still long - like her daddy) and possibly pulls off before she is actually finished. I think if we have friends over or if DSS is around i will feed her in her room to try and help with this.
Re the sleeping, now before i start i want to say that i am not having a go or saying that anyone is wrong or anything, this is just my opinion and i believe everyone has to do what is right for them and they are comfortable with. So please dont anyone think i am saying anything about them or they way they do things...
Right. IMO i would class that form of getting to sleep as a form of CC and am not happy to do it.
Yes she is crying cos i have left the room, but i know that i am coming back, she does not at this age and therefore she becomes anxious and upset, i would prefer to stay with her until she is settled/asleep and then leave the room.
What i have been doing at night time is reading to her when she is in her cot, she ends up getting upset with being in there (TBH i can see her point, during the day she is active and allowed to roam around and at night she is put in a room (which she does play in during the day at times) that is dark and there is something stopping her from getting out to us) So at this point i start patting, usually it doesnt work, and she gets more upset, so then she gets picked up and held/rocked in the chair to almost sleep and then put down.
Overnight, when she wakes and cries, i have tried holding off for 30secs/min to go in, but the crys esculate and she is more likely to need picking up... usually she will go off to sleep with just patting, but sometimes she needs a feed overnight (last night she needed 2, but that is rare and i think its cos of the heat)
PRAMA - i use to have exactly the same problem... no matter how asleep MJ was, as soon as she hit the cot she would wake and cry. I too resorted to sleeping in a chair with her at times and was up for hours and really frequently. I feel for you :hug: it is so hard and exhausting.
2 things that worked for us... we started co-sleeping on the bad nights, she was up high in the bed in the gap between the pillows. this way when she stirred we could pat her back to sleep straight away and she was less likely to wake... then we moved bac to the cot. I was prepared to put a mattress down next to the cot so i could do the same thing, but she was already starting to resettle herself due to the co sleepiing...
ALSO i noted that she slepted heaps better if she was lying face down on me, so i tried sleepping her face down on her tummy and you know what it worked, she sleeps for longer stretches now and is less unsettled. The only time she sleeps on her back is when she is in our bed.
I checked with our CMHN and she said that it was fine so long as she could roll herself over if she wanted and also so long as we made sure that we stuck to all the other SIDS recommendations... she also added that loads of babies roll themsleves in their sleep at this age, so its was fine to put her down this way.

ETA - its not the waking that i have problems with now, its the actually putting to sleep initially... now when she wakes its usually quite easy to send her back to sleep

he settled a bit better last night. not sure if it was all that crying from the other night, or we've put him in a sleeping bag with just a top. thot it might make him more snug.
he sleeps on his tummy too.
when he's really restless, we do put him in our bed.. but dont want to make it into a habit.
having said that, he wakes up at 4.30, for a feed, then 5ish as soon as it's light and he grizzles a lot (cant settle him). so we just put him in our bed and he sleeps straight away for another 2 hrs.

Prama, thats what we did too.
When i did some reading, i found that mainly babies were underdressed for night time and although we thing that we have loads on them, they actually get cold and thats why they wake... maybe this is the case with poopy if he slept better when he was a bit more snug MJ wears a singley, legless bodysuit, bonds wondersuit, sleepingbag and a sheet and a blanket. Sounds like loads i know... the room is about 20C for these clothes, we adjust down when its warmer and up in winter

DANNI - maybe Jazz says your name when shes upset cos she knows that you will fix her or cuddle her or do what ever it is that she needs. I wouldnt be sad about that, its not that she loves you more, but she needs you more and its those times thats she really calls out for you. I think that its lovely :)
Trina - sorry about your Mum leaving. It must be tough for you. I hope Chris is pulling his weight and contributing when he is around and not making life miserable for you.

Cute that Jesse is playing with the Pup (thats DH's name !!!) MJ loves our dog and cat too, although the cat is really annoyed that we have introduced yet another annoyance in her life, first a puppy now a baby :rofl:

Aren't you glad we don't sleep like babies! I've been having trouble getting Paddy to go to sleep during the day by himself. Of course today I've got heaps to do and he has slept from 8.30am (went to sleep on his own yay!) and it is now 12 and still not awake. Had I known he was going to sleep for this long I would have started all those jobs I've been putting off.
Better make heaps of lunch he's going to be starving. Anyone giving morning/afternoon snacks yet? Can't remember when they're supposed to need this. Maybe after 9months?

poopy has been having afternoon snacks for the last month and half.
he has a bf when he gets grizzly around 4ish, 5. then he has bfast around 8ish, milk half hr later.
then a nap.
lunch 11ish 12, then bf half hr later.
then a nap.
snack around 3ish. (bread w vegemite, avo, rusk, etc something small) and water
dinner at 5.30ish.
bath 6ish
milk 6ish then bed.
he has water after every meal.
I just want to cry. I am overtired, DJ has yet another throat infection, has had high temperatures all day and last night it wasn't too high but he was unsettled all last night, up every hour. Luckily Doni was home so we took turns. Daycare said he was feeling hot all day and just had temperatures up to 38.2 which isn't too bad according to my doctor..... But this afternoon when I took him to do the doctor it was 38.6 which is the highest temperature that he has ever had..... I just want him to be well again, happy and healthy. He is on antibiotics again but threw it up after having it..... gave him some nurofen so at least that will help him settle down and sleep for a bit. Sorry girls, I just needed to vent. Doni is off at a work function and probably not home until 1am tomorrow morning but said he may go out for drinks afterwards, but I just put my foot down and asked if he could come home straight after function coz I really need the help with DJ.
I had booked DJ into swimming lessons tomorrow but now I won't be able to take him especially with him being sick otherwise he will just catch something else and get sicker......
Next weekend Doni and I are going to Melb for the weekend and I am just scared he isn't going to be well..... I really need the break, so I will be praying doing anything I can for DJ to be well again...... Call me overtired today but I feel so depressed right now..... I have had enough. I don't want anymore babies after this..... I don't want to go through this again. I am exhausted all of the time, never have enough energy, continually sick.... and just feel miserable and never have a decent night sleep. You just give up alot to be a mum and I just feel so damn miserable......
Sorry for the venting girls but I am just a little down in the dumps......
Coz he is on antibiotics, he is probably going to go off his solids yet again.... and I feel like I am on this horrible rollercoaster that won't stop but just keeps going and going and going......
Anyway I better go relax a bit.

it's so much hard work, poor dj being sick.. it's so unfair. it IS like a rollercoaster all the time, as soon as you get somewhere, it starts all over again..
and it IS so so tiring, sometimes i wish i could turn back the clock to before poopy, get some rest, and come back to present time and be a better energised mother...
is he getting sick each time he goes to day care? poor darling and poor you. it's so so hard. hope doni will come home early.. you sound like you really need the break. at least for him to stay up half the night, and you get a few hrs sleep, and then take turns. at least it's saturday tomorrow and you can still share looking after him, and i hope your mum can come.
let us know how he goes, and i hope you can get some rest.. it's all so hard when y ou're overtired. even if yuo can go to bed with dj in w you.

Prama - yeah it is just so hard, and I think I gave him the throat infection coz on Sunday night I went to bed with a sore throat, headache, and fever and was sweating.... So I think I gave it to him...... I just want him to be well. I want him to be happy always. I mean he is happy and smiling when sick, but I don't want him to be sick. I know I feel miserable when I am sick....... Yeah so glad it is the weekend. Mum can't come over she has been working back everyday and tomorrow but luckily Doni is home I will be sleeping DJ with me tonight. The dogs will be sleeping at the end of the bed, they don't like storms, bit sooky..... They are good value for DJ, he loves them :)
hope dj falls asleep early tonight... it doesnt help w the weather being all over the place.
