and i had a scratched cornea and iris! lol
No major injuries here, just pinched skin and scratches here!
Bri was bad for head butting. I copped at least 2 black eye's. Alot more bruising, but I don't bruise easily, so you couldn't see it. Oh, & fat lips! Countless fat lips from her!
I have a bruise on my boob from Jesse yesterday while I was on the phone to Telstra! Not the nipple, lol! Turd!!!
Oh & SJ, yeah I'm buying some terry flats tomorrow & I did order 2 cheapy AIO's off ebay. I wanted to see what they were like. I fugured for a dollar each it wasn't wasting too much money, lol.
Will be looking around for more though.
Well i can tell you that although $1 is not much, they will not give you an accurate picture of whether you like them or not. I have some Ebay nappies, towelling ones with velcro tops, i still use them occasionally but i call them my crappy nappies and only put them on MJ after a bath or if she is playing around the house... Good on you for the flats, i really couldnt be bothered with them!!! all that folding! also i am not sure if they are as absorbant as some of the others
TBH i would wait for a sale at on of the girls on here and grab a few good quality ones, i know that they are more expensive, but worth it in the long run. If you are looking for something easy - have a look at Bambino Mio's... they are trifolds that you just pop in a cover, i used these when MJ was a baby and they were great, stopped using them as i needed to buy the next size up, but i already had heaps of BBH by that stage.
Yeah, I will be getting some better quality ones. Just thought I'd give them a go.
Had to share this

So excited, just ordered 3 MCN's from Mel & Maz!
Can't wait to get them!!!!!!
Skye, you will love Maz's stuff she is so clever, we have 2 covers from her and they are favourites!
Jaz is a crack up - the thinks that they say - make sure you write that one down and remind her when she is 21!!!
I miss my baby - the novelty has worn off and i miss MJ on Thursday nighst like crazy.
had a massive fight with DH last night so genreally feeling crappy today and i have such a busy day... in the Operating room for the next 5 hours assessing the Manual Handling risks during surgery... the plus side is that i get to see some proceedures that i havent seen today, but its 5 hours standing still and watching not doing to much, so i will be exhaused by the end - why is it that standing still makes you so tired! I hope i get to go into the Neuro-Surg theatres, It would be great to see the surgery on the patients that i look after when im doing my nursing shifts.
have a great day - LAST DAY WEEKEND IS NEARLY HERE WOO HOO - i get to play with my little girl tonight :)
Oh my god tears ..my boy is walking..all over the place once they make their mind up they just go with it dont they. What a week turnign one having needles first real wsickness ( form needles) then walking. Where has my baby gone
WOOO HOOO Will - its great isnt it Bron!
DSS had friends over for a sleep over last night (in the tent in the back yard so we slept!) and the girl (they are brother and sister) said -OMG i cant believe how much of a little person she looks like... well yeah, but i know what she means, they resemble little people now, not babies!!!
OH we had the kissing/wet dream/girlfriend boyfriend conversation with DSS on Friday, AHHHHH poor DH didnt know what to say, i think it caught him by suprise that it was at this age, Lucky i am not phased by this stuff - oh it made me think about im going to have to do that with Molly Jane one day!!!
Go Will!!!
They are all so grown up. Jesse's trying to run, so funny. He's so quick now too. Into anything & everything. Gets us to pick him up so he can reach stuff, lol!
Been using cloth nappies for 3 days now. Had our first over nighter last night & things went well. Only using the terry flats atm & I have one fitted from Big W. Then I'm using training undies/pants for covers for now.
I can't believe they still sell those plastic pilchers! I thought they'd be long gone!
Anyways, its all going good. He likes them. I like seeing his big fat bum in them!
He's saying 'nah' to anything he doesn't want now. Including bed, lol.
& he's started sleeping better again. He was sick, so he was off for a few days. The kids stayed over at mum & dad's on Frriday night so we could go out for tea. I was going to pick Jesse up, but mum wanted to keep him over.
He slept til 5.30...yay!
Then 6 this morning, had boob & slept til about 9!
He's blowing rasberries on everything! Us, him, the shower door, lol. Oh & getting very tempremental. Wanting to walk everywhere. Not fun when we were shopping in Coffs on Friday. He refused to be carried, wouldn't go in the sling or the trolley. Fun :)
I've noticed Jazz trying to assert her will a lot more since she turned one. She's a little ratbag and really starting to test the patience! Can be a right royal pain in the behind sometimes!
She gets annoyed and pushes me away when I'm holding her so I'll put her down and then she cries because I put her down, so I pick her up again and she tries to climb out of my arms. I can't win!
She's started climbing too.
I'm really not looking forward to the "terrible twos" she's bad enough now!
I was on creche at church this morning and Jazz kept wacking on a turn because I dared to walk away from her while I was setting up/packing up and playing with other kids.
My parent's are coming over today to give me my birthday present. Can't wait.
Bron - Not good about Will getting sick from his needles. Caitlin did too. How cool with the walking - we are still waiting for that milestone and Caitlin is in noooo hurry!
We have had a rough 2 weeks but fingers crossed we are over the worst of it. To start with Caitlin got this really bad chesty cough where should would keep coughing until she vomited mucous but it was a different cough to the one she had with the croup. She would cough at night and wake herself up and then be beside herself because she couldn't get back to sleep with all the coughing so our sleep would end for the night when this happened which was usually between 1.15am & 2am.
We used the vapouriser which helped a little and I rupped baby vicks onto her chest. I ended up taking her to the doctor on the Monday (why do they always get sick on a weekend?) and he told me it was asthma which I was unsure about because I had been told that they don't diagnose asthma under 2?! Anyway I am asthmatic and she didn't sound like I usually do when I have an attack so I decided not to give her the ventolin. I just helped calm her down by sitting cuddling her to level out her breathing. The cough got a little better over the week but she was still waking up nightly for hours at a time and she was very clingy during the day to the point of getting hysterical if she was put down at all :(
So the first week was a killer! We were all dead tired. On the next Saturday night (Saturday week ago) her temperature went up to 39.5, the cough got worse and we were giving her panadol but it was wearing off a couple of hours before we could give her more and the temp was going right back up into the 39's. We rode out the weekend and got her back to the doctor on the Monday (different doctor) and he checked her out and she had tonsillitis so they put her on penicillin. Doc told me that yes she did have asthma and to give her the ventolin. Woke up Thursday and she was covered in a rash so back to the doctor again (3rd doctor!) and he said she was having a reaction to the penicillin. He checked her throat and the tonsillitis had cleared so he took her off the penicillan and she is now classified as having a penicillan allergy. The cough was being helped a little by the ventolin but we ended up having to give her predi-mix for 2 days which bought it back under control and now she is just having ventolin as needed. So finally after 2 weeks she has slept through 2 nights in a row and we are starting to feel a bit human again! I really hope we get through this winter unscathed!!
Caitlin has her pediatrician appointment on Wednesday, I assume that so long as he give
s her the all clear for her first 12 months (no adverse effects from being prem) then we will not have to see him again unless something major crops up.
Anyway enough of my essay typing! Hope all is well with everyone.
Prama hope your birthday was fantastic!
:) Jo
What a morning.
First Matt forgot it was my birthday but he's forgiven because he rang me just before he started his deliveries because he looked at his phone and realised what the date was. (Lucky for him. I wasn't going to say anything and just see how long it took).
Jazz threw up all over the kitchen floor and had a temp of 38. I gave her a bath to clean her up and some nurofen. I also rang the daycare lady to see if she wanted me to keep her home. She said it's ok to bring her and she'll just see how she goes and will ring me if her temp doesn't come down or she throws up again. My boss is really good about it and is happy for me to do what I need to do to make sure she's ok so is quite fine for me to leave early. I have carers leave which is seperate to sick leave but I have heaps of sick leave so no problems there at all.
Happy Birthday Danni! Hope you have a lovely day and that Jazz is ok :)
Jo - My oldest, Jaz, is asthmatic. She was just 2 when they diagnised her. She had 5 chest infections in 4 months & the last one triggered the asthma.
So much fun. I had an allergy blood test done on her. She's allergic to mould & mites. Loads of fun. Mould is the worst. If there's any around anywhere in the house, or someone elses house she doesn't stop coughing.
Then during winter any running around she does sets it off.
I hope Caitlins isn't too difficult to manage. I've had times when the ventolin hasn't helped & I had to take her outside into the night air & sing to her & rock her to calm her down.
