DJ is doing really well, his teeth are really coming through, he looks so cute.... He has 7 all up now :) mind you it was hell the past few weeks with 5 coming through all at once. But he is finally sleeping better which is good.

Can't wait for his birthday on Friday. Doni and I are meeting up for lunch on Tuesday to get his birthday present :) I am getting him some clothes tomorrow and a new hat. His baby banz hat doesn't fit anymore. We just want to get him something together :) I would love to get something a bit more keepsake, not sure what yet....We have our family and friends coming over for cake and coffee on Friday and I am buying some bubbly to say YAY we made it through the first year (and what a tough year it was). Doni and I are going out on the Saturday night with friends a bit of a well-deserved pat on the back outing :) Mum is looking after DJ and we drop him off at midday and pick him up around midday the following day woooohooooo

MJ's party on Saturday was fantastic, she got some lovely pressies and my Butterfly carrot cake was a sucess - pic on facebook of cake... will upload some here too

Yesterday we went to Southland and DH and DSS were in a game shop so MJ and I waited outside. She was playing near the pram and all of a sudden she just stop up and walked into the shop - probably walked 5 or 6 metres!!! of all bloody places, she had to keep stopping as the centre was packed nad people were walking everywhere, i couldnt jump up and down or yell or woop!!! i managed to get the attention of DH and DSS so that they could see too!

She had repeated it a couple of times but still prefers to crawl as its faster at the moment!

Got a new iphone on Frday,i sooooooo excited and rapt with it :)

Jesse is only just starting to choose walking over crawling & its more to show off than anything ;)
When Anth took his first steps they were in a shopping centre. MIL was sitting down counting her money & he was standing against the seat next to her. She looked up & he was gone.
She freaked & went & got her brother & his mates to help look. Anyway they found him & she forgot everything coz he was walking!
She just stood there saying 'he's walking, he's walking!' lol.
He was 17 months old!

Jazz is starting to try and walk over crawling but still crawls a lot more. She'll take a few steps but then start to lose her balance and will (most of the time) gently put herself down and crawl. She's just started standing up without pulling herself up on anything first. She puts her hands down on the floor, then puts her feet down and stands up. It's cute while she's getting her feet ready coz she's in the yoga pose "downward dog" if anyone else knows what that is.

She's saying words but they all sound similar to dad. Like she says Jazz but it's "Dass" and she says Upsy Daisy but it comes out "Updy Daidsy" and when she says hi it comes out "hyde" and she doesn't say bye, she says "Tada". She just seems to put a D in almost everything she says which is cute but we have to really listen hard to realise that she's not just saying dad but she's actually saying something else.

Hope you are all well :) I took DJ to a place called Tunzofun - a soft play area for kids and it had an area filled with balls and DJ absolutely loved it. I know what to get him for his birthday haha

SJ - Sounds like MJ had a great birthday SJ :) YAY I am pretty sure I wished her happy birthday the other day.... hope so, if not HAPPY BIRTHDAY MJ :) sounds like she had a wonderful day and loved the cake. Well done. I am attempting a number 1 cake on Friday for DJ hopefully it works :)

Danni and Skye - sounds like DJ, he is trying to walk alot more but does it too fast so ends up falling on his bum.... takes a good 5 steps though with his arms out so won't be long now. I was told not to rush it because then they can open doors and get into stuff eeeek

sorry girls, havent posted much lately.
pnd back w a vengence, poopy still sick, he's on his second bout of anti-biotics and has an ear infection. teething's making him unhappy at dc and starting to show his frustration w other kids.
steve and i had a fight yesterday. my birthday's in a week and half and apart from having a second one as a mum, i dont feel happy at all..

Prama I'm sorry you and Steve had a fight and you're not feeling too good. Me & Matt had a fight last night as well and it's my birthday coming up too so it's not nice.

The FDC lady told me that yesterday Jazz was kissing all the other kids. This morning when I got her up, she put her arms around me and gave me a big sloppy open mouth kiss.

Yesterday Jazz was blowing raspberries on my shoulder after her bath, then she bit me. I told her off and then she did it again so she got a little smack.

I'm not sure if I wrote that on Monday she cut her 4th tooth - 9 days after the last one.

thanks danni - it sucks when we have an argument but i guess we are both exhausted from running around and getting back after work and looking after poopy, plus he's sick and waking up sevreal times so we arelacking sleep too. we'll be ok today.. we always apologise to each other.. yeah, i dont like arguing either.

how's matt new job coming along?
jazz is so cute kissingyou. poopy kisses the girls in DC.. haha. maybe we should put them together and see what they do!!

poopy has 5 teeth now.. the last 4 came in like the last couple of weeks.

He's stopped biting us, & when he go to do it, he will stop, point his finger & say 'nay, nay!' (No, no!) Its so funny.

He still bites Anth on occasion though, coz he made a game out of it the other night. But he's learning. I was biting him back every time he did it & saying no. (& pointing my finger as you can tell, lol!)

His new thing is pulling the girls hair. Bri's the fave coz she can't get away as quick.



Prama, I'm so sorry you're feeling crap. Have you gone to see your GP or MCHN? (About you, not Poopy?) Have you been getting out much with friends at all lately? Or even going to visit MIL just to get out of the house?

Go do something for yourself. Get your nails done, or a hair cut or something.
You need a break hun. Poopy needs you to feel better :) He wants his amma happy :)

Congrats to you too Bron!!! what a year you have had!

Prama, take care of yourself. I know what you mean about going back to work, Im not working full time, but it is so much more rushed now and the time that i spend with MJ is so short.
DH and I have been arguing more lately, i think it is that my workload has increased (by returing to work and having to do the same things each week still) and i am getting more and more tired.

If you are sore at work, go and see your OHS department and get them to do a work station assessment, maybe it is designed poorly and some adjustments need to be made.
Are you working Full Time? or do you have one day off?
I have joined a playgroup and even though i dont go ever week, it gives me some quality time with MJ doing something fun and silly (its a musical one so we sing and dance for a couple of hours)
Could you start work early one day a week or fortnight and leave Steve to do the morning stuff so that you finishe early and can have some fun time, maybe at a park or visit someone from your MG?

Also with your meds, prehaphs take in a few to leave in your desk or locker or something, that way if you are too rushed or forget, you can take one at work.
Its so much harder working, try not to feel bad about the food, i tend to cook bigger batches of things so i freeze whole meals and she get that if we are not eating together... We have also started to eat all together at 5.30... dont know if you can manage a meal with Poppy, but it has been so good for us all, DH comes home from work and often goes bac, but at least we see each other for the 30mins we are all sitting together. It has become something that i look forward to each day (and means that we are eating better now too!)

Hope everyone else is well... Oh Shell forgot to say, a friend of mine made a 1 birthday cake for her little man and did it standing up - well everyone cracked up when she unveiled it as it resembeled an erect penis!!! just a word of warning!

im working 5 days a week, unfortunately cant have flexi working hours. i finish at 5, but do leave at 4.50 so i can get home at 6. he's already exhausted and ready bed 6ish so we give him his meal at 6, then bath then bed. i do have some frozen meals in the fridge, and am going to make some more this weekend. i dont like giving him frozen meals everyday, so sometimes steve gets home abt 5 after picking him up and starts something quick like pasta for him or he has a proper meal from the leftovers from last night which we made for us for dinner. some times a day's leftover is ok.

my desk, yes someone was going to come and assess my desk. thanks for reminding me. i'll ask them again, someone was going to do it this week.

good idea on the meds. i'll leave some at work.

I wrote a post but then my computer stuffed up (work's problem, not BB's).

Happy birthday DJ.

Even though Matt started a new job this week, he's quit today as he was offered a better courier job with average weekly earnings of $1500! This is with the company he originally wanted to work for. So he's off to see about finance and leasing a bigger van but until we get some finance he'll be subcontracting.
His van is not big enough for this particular run that he'll have as it's the largest and highest earning run in Adelaide! Also the van is in bad condition.
So, he's now finished in his current new job and starts the new new job next week!

OMG I can't believe he is one. I still remember the birth and the first time I saw him. I had a tear in my eye when I dropped him off at daycare this morning. My baby is no longer a baby anymore..... kehehee

I have been singing happy birthday to him all day and he just smiles and laughs and waves his hands around, sooooo cute....

Thanks again, oh and SJ thanks for the text message, it was sooooo sweet of you to send it. I have been so busy today haven't had a chance to respond ;)

Thanks girls, he had a wonderful birthday. I made his cake and it looked ok, thanks to smarties and freckles for decoration ;) I will post up some photos when I have them. My brothers girlfriend took them for me, so need to get copies so I can post them on facebook. DJ got spoilt and he didn't want to go to bed, wanted to continue to party (cheeky litle bugger) didn't get him to sleep until 11pm!! Otherwise it was a great night, and everyone enjoyed themselves and loved the cake, so that is a bonus.

Bron - your cake for Will was gorgeous!!! you did such a great job!!!

Hope everyone else is well. I am just so glad to be at home today, such a nice day outside. DJ is down for a sleep so sitting outside and reading a book. Thought I would just pop online for a bit. hun.. poopy's carer was saying yesterday that he grabs other children, not to harm them or anything but just goes and hugs them and they get scared and cry. he's done this before too. she reckons maybe he's frustrated fr teething so he's letting go off that extra energy. he's also been like playing w his toys and throwing them. he's done that at home but not from anger/frustration. he lifts up his blocks etc and gets excited and throws them up fast, and does it over and over again quickly. i think he enjoys throwing them up and seeing them fall and make a big noise and he laughs and does it again. he wants to do it all too quick.

should i be worried about him grabbing/hugging other children? is this normal?

Poopy is doing all the normal stuff hun. He doesnt have the language to tell his friends he is excited to see them and really enjoys their company. WIll does the same thing. We use the word "gentle" all the time and guide his hand to our face softly or to another childs face or body. Are the kids at day care younger than him or the same age? We have a lot of soft toys at home and try to encourage WIll to give them *hugs* and kisses maybe something else for Lakshman to hug onto.
The throwing is also normal too but not what you really want is it. A firm UH UH and show him how to roll them on the floor or stack the blocks instead. Its a hard one becasue WIll like to throw his balls to which really is what they are meant for arent they.
We found WIll was slapping our faces in excitment and we were always touching his hands and moving it away now just give a really sad face and say Poor mummy poor daddy and shake our heads it really affects him and his face gets sad. The tone and body language can help with the behaviour greatly.
It really is all very normal stuff though hun
It sounds like he really loves being with his friends at care though and its all very exciting

maybe i should tell his carers if he does that, we tell him at home to be gentle. that's what we do, cos he doesnt know he can hurt someone unintentionally.
poopy doesnt like soft toys for some reason.. he seems humphrey at day care and says appa.. stve does look like a bear!
my mum did teach him the sad face thing and poor mummy/daddy/granny thing. we usually tell him no and tell him to be gentle and that it hurts. we'll start the sad face thing too.

he does love his dc now, he gets so excited as soon as i pullover. and often there's so much happening he doesnt even realise im saying good bye. he's such a sticky beak.

I'll have to do a bit more to stop his pinching! Its cruel! He grabs us with his nails. I guess cutting his nails would be a good start, lol.
He was slapping our faces, but he's switched it for the clawing us! He's brought tears to my eyes a few times. Getting hold of my nose & lip. Nasty!

He's walking everywhere now, & carrying things around with him.
He's yelling Mum at me all the time now. Mainly when he wants to be picked up.

He's a bit sick with a chest infection atm, but he's coming good. He's finally starting to sleep through til around 5 in the morning too. This morning it was 6. YAY!!!!!!!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! He just wee'd on my clean clothes!!!! CRAP!!
He just got out of the shower & has nothing on & he wee'd on my basket full of clean clothes!!!!!!!!

i'm so impressed jesse's sleeping thru!! wow!! some real sleep huh!!

I got the FDC lady to try Jazz on lactose free milk yesterday and I made her eat more at dinner time and she actually went down at 8:15pm! She sort of woke up at 1am though and I gave her a bottle and she went back to sleep. Then she woke at 6am when Matt was leaving for work so I brought her into bed with me for an hour.
At least we didn't have to drive her around last night to get her to sleep!
I'm going to get some Brauers Calm to see if that helps her sleep better.

Jazz hugs everyone at daycare too.
One of the kids got annoyed with her yesterday though because Jazz wanted to play with the same thing she was playing with. The girl pulled her hair and hit her on the head a few times and the FDC lady had to physically separate them and put the other girl in the naughty corner. Aparently she has a brother that is similar in age to Jazz and she does the same thing to him. The parents are going to be more strict with her now.

Jazz has started laughing at everything. Not a full on belly laugh though. She'll stand or sit there looking and pointing to something going Ha Haaa. Ha Haaa. I said to her in the car on the way to daycare this morning "I guess the world is kind of funny to a one year old" she just said "yeah" (who knows if she understood.

She's started shaking her head too. Usually when I'm trying to tell her to do something, she'll shake her head, so I say "yes" and she'll laugh and shake her head and in a laughing tone say "no" She's not doing it in a serious way thankfully, it seems to be a game she made up.

She now says "cat" and will call our white cat by name (Buddy). She usually says "uddy at" (because I call him Buddy Cat (Buddy is his name and I want her to remember that he's a cat).
Buddy was sitting on the side of the bath last night and Jazz thought that was funny. She kept trying to grab him and pull him into the bath.
