Hi girls! Just popping in to say hello.
Hi Jen and Eloise!! congrats on your bubbas! Hope your labours went well.
Eloise - I agree with Holly - you're amazing girl! Will definitely value your input with all that experience!
Cindy - Great sleeps you're getting there!! We've had a few nights like that where Jacob "slept through" but he's back to a couple of feeds again lately.
AFM - We're getting Jacob weighed tomorrow at the CHC. He has been gaining weight slowly so they're keeping an eye on him. It's all a bit stressful at times as he has been quite fussy during some feeds - pulling on the nipple and BITING :o especially on the left (think the flow is slower on that side). There've been a few other issues too like thrush, some damage to the left side, expressing for a bit......yadda yadda yadda. Hopefully we're coming out the other side again. Feeding today has been much more comfortable and he has been a bit more settled.
Hope you're all doing well, enjoying your bubbas, getting enough sleep and getting outside!
Hi Eloise & Jen - welcome to you and your bubba's!!
Kaz - it sounds like you are coming through the other side with your feeding - well done lovie! I'm sure Mr J will astound the CHC with his weight gain!
Hi to everyone else.
Ruby is a little devil at night :) between 4 and 10pm she is just interested(which doesnt really bother me) in feeding and just dozing in my arms, if i put her to bed she wakes up within 3 mins and i ahve to go get herl. We have story time etc etc but this is the only time she fights going to sleep - does anyone have any tricks that they use?

Hey Everyone,
So i wake up during the night and am feeling stuffed up and achy...2 days before easter:doh: Am not feeling too bad now, but had a little look at my throat and it could go either way. I'm just so upset as we're taking Ryder back home to meet all our friends and i don't want to feel ****.
If i do get sick (thinking positive!) will my bubba get sick too?
Jen are you breastfeeding? If so Ryder should be fine. Hope you stay well though xo
Yes i am breastfeeding, am feeling a little better, have tried to get some sleep in today, but at least if i do get sick i've got our families around to help which is a bonus. Thanks for all your help and fingers crossed no cold or flu :D
Jen, make sure it's not mastitis - are your bbs engorged or red at all?
Had L's 6 week check today - he's put on 850g in 2 weeks which is quite a lot! MCHN reckons his feeding and weight gain should start to settle now and I sure hope so.
Quiet in here...hope all is well with everyone xox
Hi all, we are kind of quiet in here but we have our beautiful bubba's that are keeping us very busy. I'm tired and about to head to bed and get some sleep before Charlie wakes, just thought i'd say hi.
Hi to Jen Jen and Eloise, welcome and i look forward to sharing the stages our baby's will go through together.
Eloise i'm sure you hear it all the time but 12 is an excellent effort. You must be super organised and patient. Amazing... :)
Holly, Samm, Kaz everyone else Hello to you and hope you are getting some rest.
I've gone and gotten mastitis so i'm a bit sore at the moment, it's only a small area of boob that looks to be infected but i went to the doctors today and i got a jab in the bum and some antibiotics. I just hope it goes away quickly. Charlie had a strange day today, didn't settle after the 4:30am feed and was up until about 1ish (only slept in the car for a bit), with about 4 feeds during that time. Then he slept all afternoon, didn't wake until almost 6pm and fed and was back in bed by 7:30pm. I was thinking to myself it would have been great if that all happened later in afternoon and then he slept during the night, i could have gotten a whole 5 hours sleep!!!
Had the HN today and Charlie is now 9lb!!! Still only as big as some babies born but my gosh he's growing. We're going to have his hand and feet impressions done tomorrow, 1 month old just like Aidan's.
Must be going around..I've got mastitis again too! Had it in hossy and all the symptoms started again on Monday night...got the Ab so hopefully will settle soon :)
My sore spot has almost gone and i am feeling better. I went to the gp and they gave me an injection and ab. Really making sure Aidan empties me now but both sides is too much for him. I'll have to start expressing but honestly if i had to choose between expressing and sleep i'd choose sleep, we're getting so little...
Ellie i hope yours clears up quickly so you can enjoy the easter weekend. :)
Opps i wrote Aidan instead of Charlie.... Aidan hasn't bf for over 12 months!!!
Hi Guys,
Wow sounds like there's a lot of mastitis going around. I don't think i've got it though my boobs feel fine and soft no red spots and they don't look engorged. Every now and then when i'm feeding or after i get a shooting pain just for a second but apart from that all good. When i got up for the 2.30am feed i realised that what i think i have is hayfever...itchy throat and ears, runny nose etc. Does anyone know if you can take telfast when your breastfeeding?
We're off this afternoon back home, 3 hrs away to show off our little one and see our friends and family. Will be the first time sleeping elsewhere, hope all will be fine. Am looking forward to lots of babysitters so my hubby and i can maybe even duck down to a cafe and have a coffee together. Yay!!
Happy Easter everyone and hope your bubbas behave for you all
Hi girls,
It's pretty quiet in here. I hope you're all doing ok and getting some sleep!
Sam - It's really normal for babies to be unsettled in the evenings. We use a bubbamoe sling with Jacob and it usually works a treat and puts him to sleep while we get other stuff done (like dinner!).
Jen - Hope you're trip home and sleeping elsewhere went well! We'll be travelling overnight on Monday for the first time. I think there's a hotline number where you can check the safety of drugs in breastfeeding - can't remember the name of it but it was probably in your bounty bag.
Holly - I hope that Leon's weight and feeding has settled down a bit.
Kirst and Ellie - so sorry that you girls have had mastitis. Hope its all cleared up now! Kirst - Jacob had a really wakeful day yesterday too - fed 2 hourly and barely slept in between.
Speaking of which he just woke up!
Hi Kaz! Yeah it is a bit quiet in here.
Not too much to report - Ruby is getting bigger everyday and getting heavier! I am not looking forward to the 8 week injections but Mum will be with me for a bit of moral support and look after the both of us :)
She is fighting sleep at the moment (which is quite cute) so the poor little poppet is very tired in the evenings.
Speaking of which, she has just woke up again!
xx
Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is going well, my bub had the best sleep last night, i fed at 7.30pm, 1.00am and 6am...i've woken up like a new woman and can't believe he slept like that. He is a great sleeper with 3-4 hrs during the night but last night was awesome. Actually he's asleep again now. Am thinking that b/c i've got thrush on my nipples and breasts and he's getting oral drops that maybe the medication is making him a bit drowsy. Has anyone else had any experience with thrush? It's very annoying and so freaking itchy i just want to tear my boobs off LOL
Well we're moving back to our home town which is 3 hours away. After being there over Easter we both just felt that we had to go back. So my hubby got back and quit his job, and we gave notice on our house, so hopefully the people coming tomorrow will rent the house and it will all work out easy and simply (fingers crossed).
So is everyone else's little bundles starting to smile and coo more? Agreed on the injections samm am not looking forward to that either but good idea to take mum will do that.
Have a good week Jen and Ryder
Jen - I just realised last night that we had thrush AGAIN!! This is the second time for J and I. I'd never had it before and didnt' realise it could be a baby mouth/nipple thing. I've just been down the chemist today. Hopefully, catching it earlier this time means we won't be treating for so long. It is SO frustrating. I hate that evil yellow Nilstat stuff with passion!!! Great sleep you got!!
Samm - It's pretty normal for them to be unsettled in the evenings. Most babies will have one or two unsettled periods a day, and one or two unsettled days a week.
AFM - We travelled overnight on Monday. My Nan passed away last week and the funeral was on Monday. My MIL is coming to stay for a few days today (she hasn't seen J since he was a few days old) and then my sister is coming up for the weekend.
Hope everyone is well. Hugs to all.
We must all be busy with our bubs. I have to apologise as I haven't posted here since my introduction in March.
Hello to everyone. My DS is 10 weeks. I can't believe how the time flies!
Sorry to hear about your Nan, Kaz.
I hope everyone's bubs are well and that you are all getting enough sleep (ha!).
Hi all, just for those of you who don't know...we have another thread/forum we all talk on to continue from our original belly buddies as we didn't all give birth in March & wanted to stick together and not be separated by our dates, so I guess that's why there;s not much chatter on here! Just pm me if you want the link, can't post it here.
Hope you're all well! xox
