Hi girls
Just a quick one before I dive into some more unpacking... Moved successfully but don't get me started on how horrendous the whole thing was. I think I'm going to have to die here or be on holidays for the next one. At least the new house has enough rooms for me to have a whole tribe of kids, so I can see no reason why we can't stay!
Lucy has cut another two teeth, on the top, her right eye tooth and the one in the middle next to that. Might as well throw the book away on the order teeth are supposed to come through. She has four on the bottom as well. No hassles, just didn't want her dinner for a night. She's settled in fine and thinks climbing in and on boxes is great fun. Her big new playroom with all of her toys out is also a hit.
Amy - great to hear from you! Glad Noah's bday went well and a huge congratulations on bfing him for so long! I'm sure he'll barely notice when it's gone, since he's about to start walking he'll be far too busy to worry. Good luck with the fertility treatment for #2. How long were you on it before conceiving Noah, if you don't mind me asking?
Em - glad to hear Abby had a good bday, I hope you got some good photos of her in her party dress. Don't feel selfish saying you're not sure about TTC#2 yet, I think it shows you're enjoying Abby so much you want to spend as much one-on-one time with her as you can. And then you can do the same with #2. Not selfish at all. Unless you're planning on having half a dozen more then I don't think you should feel any pressure! We've been telling ppl since Lucy was born that #2 will be years away so have avoided any qns on that front. So far, anyway. As for your qn regarding food, Lucy has weetbix and toast at breakfast, risotto/pasta/sandwich/noodles/leftovers/whatever-I-can-make-in-a-hurry plus fruit at lunch and similar for dinner (except usually with more vegetables) plus yoghurt and snacks on fruit, corn thins and the occasional arrowroot or wheatmeal biscuit. Hope that helps, but I will admit when I have more time I need to pull out all of the recipe for kids books I've been given!
Bye for now, off to get a million things done before Lucy wakes.
-
I know about the moving, it sucks so much. We have just sold our house and moved in with my parents while we build. So we are half unpacked for about another seven months! It's exhausting work but sounds like your house is awesome and loads more room for Lucy.
It took us two years to conceive Noah (one year trying ourselves and then one year of fertility treatment etc.) so we're keen to get at it again. Although I only got my period back three weeks ago - I never thought I'd be happy to see it!!
Take care all.

OMG.......... Firstly a very Happy (and very belated for some) Birthday to our our little people:clap: . Liam would personally like me to wish Lucy, Tallon, Cailan, Noah, Abby, Tayneesha and Beth all the best for year ahead. I hope i didn't miss anyone - if i did i am sorry!
I am having all sorts of issues actually get on the computer ATM because it is in the same room as Liam and when he is asleep it disturbes him. When he is awake he tries to "help"!!!! Thanks to his "help" DH has had to fix the computer as Liam likes to click and drag and thinks the lights at the reboot and on/off switch are pretty when thay flash. Needless to say this is one reason i have been MIA.
Liam is getting better and gets anywhere from 3-6 steps in now before falling over.
He finally cut his first tooth last week at 13 months. It is still coming but he loves running his tounge over it. It has caused DH and I all sorts of grief as it has been a mission and a half to get him to bed at night (sometimes over 2 hours before asleep) and he has been waking during the night due to the pain and discomfort. I hope they are not all this bad. From memory Brad's didn't cause too many probs just mainly off his food. I have been trying the controlled crying but now with this tooth distressing him it seems just too mean to leave him in pain and alone. I will get back to it once he settles down.
I weighed him at home yesterday and twice he was 7.9kg and once 8kg. He has an officail weigh in next week so we will see how that goes.
BF morning and night still, with cows milk at lunch or on the very rare occassion I am not home when it is bedtime he has a bottle and i top him up when i get home- mainly just to relieve myself so i am not too full in the moirning. Plus i don't want to risk him going without and then deciding he has had enough. I am definately holding on more then he is to it. it is my last link with my baby  , except for the nappies, teeth.........blah blah. I guess cause its only my connection with him IYKWIM.
Ok my :helper: is here and causing all sorts of issues. and brad wants more food.
I will catch you all later, Take care.

Hi all,
Hmmmmm, it must be me. Every time i pop in everyone stops chatting....I'll start to get a complex.....:p ...Ha ha
Liam had his official weigh in today and - W-7.85kg L-69.5cm HC- 43.9. The clinic lady has finally given in that Liam is just small and she sees no reason to worry herself a obout it anymore...however "bring him back in three months and we will check on him again!"
We are now mobile. Liam prefers to walk most places now and only crawls when he is in a hurry. The most steps we have had were about 20. He thinks he is soooo clever and Bradley loves to stand Liam up and call him and when he walks over they give each other a huge huggle (our hug/cuddle word) and Brad tells Liam how proud he is of him :)
Off to the shops to get a few things and to grab a coffee before brad gets home from school so I hope you are all well, Bye for now
-
Hey Kas - I'm here, just lazy! hehe. LOL at huggle - we say that too!
I'll try and come back later to do a proper post :) Don't get a complex.. we luv ya!
-
I am here too but didn't have much to report til now....
We are all full of a head cold, nasty. Had DS1 awake on and off all night, it was terrible. He was just screaming, cos he could hardly breathe due to blocked nose, every time we spoke to him he would scream more. I held him, the first word I uttered he was off my knee like a shot and over to Tony. Same thing happened with Tony, he couldn't make up his mind who he wanted to be with, Mum or Dad. Hopefully tonight is better.
I have had my scan done, tubes are in good condition but one ovary is enlarged. Will know more once I have seen the Gyno. Don't know when that will be cos the Doc seems to be stalling a little. I asked if the enlarged ovary was a problem and he told me that if I had no abnormalities with my periods then it wouldn't be a problem but since I did have abnormalities it is a problem, but he doesn't know what and will have to wait to see the Gyno. He then told me he would refer me next visit. Doesn't make sense to me to wait but he's the Doc so I am listening to him. Well all from me for a bit, hopefully can do personals soon.
Kas ~ Great to hear Liam is off and running and that the health nurse is happy with him. He'll catch up on a growth spurt sometime and soon he will be towering over you.
Liz ~ Any news on TTC yet? My fingers have been crossed for you!!!

Hi girls!!
So sorry I have been seriously MIA, but have some very good reasons. We moved okay and am starting to get on top of everything. My Mum came down for a week last week to look after Lucy for me so I could have a serious stab at picking up new clients. Worked, I had meetings every day and signed up a new project on Friday, as well as a 'more than likely' on Thursday, so very happy with that. As long as I have enough work I will be getting a nanny in to help look after Lucy, much more convenient and allows me extra hours to work so in the end wouldn't end up costing much more than going to childcare. Lucy loved having Nana here and put in a real effort to do some new things for her!
Lucy is now talking heaps more, she says 'hello' and holds her toy phone up to her ear, too cute. She learnt to clap and now claps herself whenever she thinks she's done something clever. She's also learnt to throw and kick a ball and that keeps her going for ages! She tells the dogs to go 'out' of her bedroom. She's trying to copy a lot of the words I say to her now, I have a feeling she's going to be a bit of a chatterbox.
On the bad news front, I woke up last Tuesday night with pain in my dodgy right eye, only to find in the morning it was no better and saw blurry. Went to the optometrist who sent me straight up to the eye surgeon (never a good sign when you're sitting there and he gets the specialist on the phone and I get straight in...) who has confirmed the back of my cornea is b$ggered. Have to see how bad it is once the membrane heals, but he gives me a 70% chance of needing a cornea transplant. Thankfully it is no longer painful and I can still see well enough to drive/read, etc, but it's the worst thing that could have happened to the cornea. I've had a condition for years and we've known about it, but this was so unlikely to happen that I never expected it. My op says he's treated about 200 ppl with this condition over about 20 yrs and this is only the 2nd time he's seen it happen. Should go and buy a lottery ticket.
Anyway, we're getting used to the idea and I see the eye surgeon again on Wednesday to plan ahead. Seriously hoping the transplant can happen later in the year when we're not so busy as it's 6 weeks of recovery and I don't know how that's going to impact work, etc. In the meantime, I don't see as well as I should, but that's no biggy.
Be back again a bit more frequently now it's all slowed down. Hope everyone else is doing well, Steph, hope you're over your colds. Lucy has one too, and of course woke up during the night for most of last week!

HI i'm very new to this forum thing, and was wondering if i have found the right thread, by daughter was born in march 06 and it was suggested that i join baby buddies to chat to mums with bubs of a similar age????
-
Hi Abbadabbadoo ~ Great that you have joined us!!! Hope you can tell us some more about yourself soon. Also good to have another little girl here, most of the bubs are boys. Looking forward to chatting to you!
-
Hi there, abbadabbadoo aka Jodi (Abby's mum). live in eastern suburbs in sydney. DD - 6/3/06, i will be 30 in sept and hubby 40 in sept, big party for both of us!! work part time....Abby is up and walking around all the time, still breast feeding which is a huge plus for me as i was having lots of probs at the beginning with my milk supply but thanks to a fabulous laction consultant and motillium Abby enjoys 2 breastfeeds/day, (i have just stopped her lunch feed and she now has milk from a cup). just this last fortnight Abby has started to sleep thru (finally) but we stay in room (either sitting near door way still in her view or next to her cot) til she falls asleep tho..i 'm really looking forward to breaking this habit and her putting herself to sleep.....
-
Welcome Jodi, we have a bit in common! I live on the north shore in Sydney. I turned 30 two months ago and Lucy's bday is the 10 March. We are still bfing too, although Lucy still has 3-4 bfs a day. Lucy thankfully does sleep thru the night, when she isn't sick with a cold (which she is atm, although should kick it quickly, she usually does). Lucy didn't used to fall asleep on her own, I would cuddle her, but she got to a point where she didn't want that anymore and now only needs to be laid in her cot and kissed goodnight.
Looking forward to getting to know you better!
Oh and I had fabulous news today girls. Went back to the opthamologist and it looks like I made the very slim chance that my eye would heal properly!! So no need for anything further, no need for a cornea transplant and it might even have improved my sight!!
Off to bed...
-
Hi Jodi! Welcome! Yay another boobyfed bubby past 12 months! Well done!
Jen - FANTASTIC news about your eye! How frightening tho. Our eyes are so precious, it's awful to have anything go wrong. Hope you have a quick recovery :) and wow at it actually improving your sight!
Well, for some reason, the last few days, Tallon has got really smart! LOL. All of a sudden, he's doing and learning many many signs.. I'm actually going to have to get the book out and learn some more myself! (Thank goodness he's signing.. coz there's no real talking yet (only a little bit that only I can decipher LOL) so at least he can communicate what he wants to me). For some reason, he knows where his nose, mouth, ears and hair are! I have done it a few times with him, but not actually taught him, but he knows them! LOL. He now understands the concept of drawing.. instead of focusing on the pencil, and wanting the pencil to chew on.. he actually watches what I'm drawing and gets excited if I draw things he knows, like a bird or a duck. He's had a little go at drawing, but can't hold it properly yet hehe. He moves the pencil over the paper laying flat.. does't realise that it's the end of the pencil that draws. umm... what else has he learned in the last 3 days. Oh yeah - he climbs up on the furniture. OMG that is a PAIN!! I can't leave him alone at ALL now, coz all he does is climb up on the lounge and runs along it, and then tries to climb higher by using the arm of the chair. I'm trying to be consistent with the no standing on the lounge, only sitting, and he does sit down when I say to, but then promptly climbs up the back of the lounge again. So bit of patience needed there methinks!
He's also become very affectionate lately. If I ask for cuddles or a kiss, he runs up and wraps his arms around my neck. Love it :) The cuddles disappeared for a while, so nice that they're back :)
OK.. gotta run, gotta drive DH down to the train station.
Cya girls!

Hi girls,
Welcome Jodie!! :)
Well been very very busy lately and this 2nd pregnancy of mine is giving me grief a little bit as very sore in the private parts and down the inside of my legs this time round. It is mainly bad at night time when i go to sleep. Very true every pregnancy is different. Gosh i was lucky with the 1st pregnancy!
Tayneesha is all grown up now she thinks she is a big girl she is now doing the following:
1. Can help me in the kitchen making pancakes and coking etc etc. Loves it really vute
2. Loves to push her pretend shopping trolley around and go shopping etc
3. Plays dollys all the time and trys to feed dolly and all of that like i do with her.
4. EATS MEAT LIKE ANYTHING NOW!!! CLAP CLAP!
5. Sleeps through the night only wakes once or twice if teeth giving her grief or feeling unwell but rarely.
6. Walks and toddles everywere
7. Climbs up and down things
8. Loves to help her carers at daycare by rocking the cots with the baby babies in them
9.Can draw
10. Occupies herself in her room and plays
11. Loves giving cuddles and kisses
12. Loves the park with slides, swings etc etc
Gosh alot to list but basically she is her own little person now and is all grown up! :(
We are going on a picnic for easter and spending good quality time with Tayneesha this long weekend as DH works very hard during the week we have our own carpentry business so very demanding and hard yalla etc etc. Good for him to have a break and all of that!
There has been cases of Bronchitis (i think thats how you spell it) in Cairns lately and has hit alot of toddlers and babies etc, I have heard as well it is going around in Melbourne too? Tayneesha has had a slight cough chesty it sounds and runny nose etc so i am home treating at the moment and seems to be fine just worse at night and early morning etc. Fingers crossed it doesn't develop to be worse!!!
I am all ready for round 2 now as well and i am just wanting her to come out now. Tayneesha loves to kiss and patt her sister in my belly it is so damn cute! The obs have said that this bubba may be bigger than Tayneesha was had the gestational diabeties test and all clear so thats good. But i am thinking god Tayneesha was 10 pund 5 what will Shayla ( this is going to be her name) be. Ahhhhhh! I have an open mind though and not stressing too much.
We had major probs with our computer last week so i had to do a complete system restore and start from scratch again. What a pain in the butt that has been. Stcky fingers Tayneesha wanted to help as well and it took twice as long as it should have! Lol
Well must be off not much else to report at all hope all is well for you all.
Jen

Hi there all!
Hope all mums and bubs are going well.
I have some wonderful news, my sister has had her 2nd baby, I finally have a nephew! He was born on Wednesday afternoon at about 3pm. He was 9lb 1oz and 51cms, head of 34.8cms. She had a drug free natural birth with a few stitches on the outside. His name is Seth Alexander. Breast feeding well which is good, when my sis had my neice Spencer, she had such a strong suck that Jess's nipples were red raw and bleeding. She only fed Spence for about a week. Hopefully Seth gets the boob for longer. Both of her births have been really easy, the doc broke her waters with Seth after 1pm and he was out less than 2 hours later and the same thing happened when she had Spencer. They borke her waters at 5:30pm and Spence was out at 7:37pm. She had gas with Spencer but no other pain relief.
So it is 1 down and 7 to go, I have my SIL and CIL due in early July, two old workmates due in Late June, best friend from school due in August, friend due in October and have just found out my other friend is due in December. It will be great to spoil them all with gifts.

:happyforyou:
All our love and hope you have a H&H pregnancy.
-
Yes i am still here just need to find the time to get typing. Both boys well, house slowly coming along. I promise i will do my best to get a proper update in soon.
A very big (and belated ) welcome to Jodi and Abby :hello:
-
Thanks guys - doesn't feel real yet! LOL. No symptoms yet, and Tallon's still feeding like crazy. I only did one hpt too... maybe I should do it again just to make sure! LOL.
Well, we just discovered that Tallon's cut 2 molars up the top! that explains the GALLONS of drool lately! He also cut a tooth next to the four bottom ones the other day. Mum reckons that could be the reason he's had a cough the last couple of days too. *shrug*
Steph - wowee at all the babies due! and congrats on your little nephew too :)
ok.. gotta go. Talk later!
-
Welcome to Jodi and Abby (GREAT name! ) and congrats again to Liz :confetti: ... fantastic news!!
not much going on here. Abby is doing great. Getting to bed at a normal time now- ohhh soooo cool to have her in bed by 8ish. Shes cut 4 new teeth, the first 4 molars. we have had some issues but nothing serious. Shes going thru a very needy phase at the moment and screams the house down if she thinks Tim or I are leaving, even if we go into the next room. Its really sad and i hope it ends soon. Now that work is finished we are spending so much time together and its been wonderful. Nothing like an eight week stint as a working mum to make you appreciate spending the whole day with a beautiful happy smart fun little friend... siighhhhhh shes just so wonderful.
A friend had his baby (well, obviously his DF did) on friday... got the pics today, those beautiful brand new hands and puffy little lips.... I must admit that Liz's news and seeing those pics of my friends baby are making me a tad clucky (AGAIN).......:wall:
-
Yeah, Em, IKWYM, we have friends who split up at Xmas and have only been seeing each other to swap the kids over and they've managed to fall pg in the last 6 weeks... Always happens to the wrong ppl! So glad you aren't one of the wrong ones Liz!
Lucy started doing something new the other day. I could hear her going "Brooom, brrrooom" from the other room and looked in to see her driving a toy bus backwards and forwards on the floor. She also did it yesterday when my gf's kids were pushing her around in a box. Says it for all cars, must have picked it up from when Mum was here a couple of weeks ago. It's very cute! Third tooth on the top just came through and 4th not far behind. Nearly eight teeth. Wow at Tallon cutting his molars already!!
-
CONGRATS TO LIZ!!!! HOW EXCITING FOR YOU, TALLON IS GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately my sister's breastfeeding isn't going well, she has already asked me for the breast pump because her nipples are sore. I haven't got mine anymore so I am looking on the Net to find one to send to her. Hopefully she keeps the feeds up with him in the mneantime, she has some nipple sheilds which I gave her that should come in handy.
Hope all mums and bubs are happy and healthy!
-
Hi Steph - just a quick note to your sister. If her nipples are sore then her attachment is probably the issue. I would either have her call the ABA or speak to a lactation consultant at the hospital. She needs to make sure the baby has a mouthful of breast, not just nipple. If baby isn't attaching correctly the nipple rubs on the baby's palate and causes friction = pain. I would also suggest using lanolin on her nipples to help them heal in the meantime. Expressing a little breastmilk on them and letting them air will also help, but in my experience the lanolin was a godsend. I'm probably only telling you stuff you already know, but just thought I'd put in my two cents in case it helped!
Hope she has some relief soon.
We bought Lucy a little ride-on car on the weekend. It was her bday present from my Mum but we had heaps of trouble finding one that we thought was suitable. Went to Toys r Us in the end and got this little plastic one that has handlebars and buttons that play music. It'll only last her about 6-12 months, but for $30, we thought it was okay. She doesn't really know how to sit on and move her legs to get it going, but thinks the music is hilarious. I can hear the tunes playing and peek outside and she's bobbing her head up and down to it! I'm trying to teach her to ride it, I'm sure it won't be long.
Lucy learnt to hop down the side of the deck onto the garden bed yesterday. It isn't far, but oh boy is it getting hard to contain her! She's outside in a flash as soon as the door is opened and will play out there for ages, just running around and picking things out of the garden (and putting them in her mouth, goodness knows what she's eating! ). I make sure she wears her hat when she's outside to get her into good habits. And she's definitely getting taller, she can reach up and pull things off the table and my desk now. This morning a plate of toast went all over the floor 'cause I didn't realise she could reach it.
We went to play at the park yesterday. Lucy had her first go on the swing and the slide. Laughed and laughed on the swing. She didn't want the little slide, kept going over to the bigger one. The bouncy see-saw thingy was also a hit, except she bumped her head 'cause she was bobbing it up and down in time to the bounce. Didn't seem to bother her, straight back up as soon as the tears were gone. We're going to buy her a swing to hang under our deck so at least I know she'll like it now.
How many naps are all our toddlers having now? Lucy's morning nap it short now, only half an hour or so. And it takes her a little bit to go down in the afternoon as well, she plays and then complains in her cot for 20 mins! And she's definitely tired,
Must go, milk bar is being opened (tries to help herself these days)...
-
Jen - how cute of Lucy liking the big slide at the park. Liam loves the slide at a local restaurant that has a whole heap of kids stuff to do. He was cacking himself last week. LOL at the toast. Liam likes to "help" on the puter!!! His typing skills are just wonderful. We have no luck with the hat situation. He hates them. Usually 2 sleeps. One that last for about an hour and the other anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. But the last few days he has only been having one really big one of about 3 hours. Oooops about the friends who split who are now expecting.
Steph - i hope you sister is having an easier time with the breastfeeding.
Emz - Liam too is very clingy ATM. All i have to do is pick up my car keys and walk out the door and he starts screaming. Same as when i leave him at mums to go to work, so now she comes out to the car to get him and that seems to be making it easier and there are less tears. Let that clucky feeling last a little longer. I am sure 2008 will be here in no time and you can start DTD.
Liz - How are you feeling? Have those symptoms kicked in yet?
All still going well here. I am sooooo glad school hols are almost over!!!!!!
Take care all.
-
Hi Kas - good to hear from you!! Sorry to hear Liam is getting upset when you leave him behind. I'm sure as soon as you're out of sight he's having a lovely time. Although at least you know you're loved! Lucy barely gives me a backwards glance when I leave her at my gfs to go to work. And often when I get back (at the end of the afternoon) she's not that excited to see me. Sometimes excited to see bbs, but clearly hasn't missed the rest of me... Probably has something to do with the fact she has a little playmate and his two big sisters when they get home from school. That's what I tell myself!
Off to have an early-ish night. We got home from the shops just after 5pm with a sleeping Lucy. I put her in her cot, thinking she'd be up within half an hour for dinner, but not a peep and it's now 9pm! So I'm probably in for a midnight wake-up, but I'm heading to bed early to make sure I get enough sleep...
-
Hello all,
So i have about 2 weeks to catch up on.
Liam is now trying to run!! He is very confident in walking and climbing stairs and the last week or do we have been teaching him how to get off our bed safey. He loves to wander the toy isles at the shops or when we are at a furniture store or similar place.
At the start of the month he decided that feeding himself his own weet bix was fun....messy but fun!!! Most meals now need to be bite size or non sloppy so he can do it himself. However saying that......He has been off his food - even the guaranteed favourites- for about a week and waking in the early hours of the night so maybe more teeth are on the way or he is getting cold. From memory brad was a similar age when he did the same thing for a couple of months. I am really struggling with food ideas ATM what he loved yesterday he now thinks is poison and won't touch it. ???????????what to do
His second tooth arrived and is just as crooked as the first (i think i may have already posted that?!?!?). And he still only has the two. He is slowly getting more hair, almost to the point he gets minor bed hair! I guess being blonde and really fine doesn't help make it look like heaps either.
Liam loved easter. He is now a glorified chocoholic. If he sees someone eating it he needs to have some too!
Controlled crying has its good days and bad. I really need to pinpoint the exact time to put him into bed otherwise he winds himself up and gets too upset to settle himself and on the other hand if i wait to long he is overtied and it just takes forever. I think i have about a 15 minute window of a successful chance.
He loves to play peekaboo- he covers either his eyes or ours and waits for us to say "where is...." before he uncovers and laughs. Last week he discovered he could blow rasberries on his arm, the lounge (leather) my chest, my boob when he was having a rest at "booba" before bed, so when i showed him on his belly and then got him to do it to me he thought it was hillarious. Considering he never use to like us doing it to him!!! Liam and Brad now take it in turns and the game can go on four a good 15 minutes, i just need to get it on video.
I guess thats time up for me-i have woken him up with all my typing. House at a stand still due to rain. I just need to keep telling myself its only another 9 weeks and we will have plenty of room!!!!
Hope you are all well
-
Hey girls, sorry I'm not about much. Got a touch of morning sickness each morning, and it takes me sooooo long to get going each day.
Kas - Tallon's the same! I saw him try to run the other day, thank goodness he hasn't tried again just yet! LOL. He's been playing "where's Tallon" for a while now.. hides behind the couch and peeks around the corner. Too cute. He even runs and hides in the pantry LOL.
Well, we bought bunk beds a couple of weeks ago, and they arrived last saturday. So we've set up just one as a single bed for Tallon, but I haven't got any bedding to go on it yet, so haven't even had day sleeps there yet! hehe. He's been able to climb off the bed safely for ages now (comes with co-sleeping I guess hehe) so that's not a worry. It's so cute to have him wander up the hallway looking for me when he wakes up through the day. He just happily gets himself up and comes and finds me :)
Well, Tallon has been feeding through the night a lot lately and it's wearing me out :( He was cutting 2 molars not long ago, and he also had a cough for about 2 weeks. He's been dribbling like crazy again lately, so I'm wondering if more teeth are on the move. I never know until they cut through tho! I wouldnt' normally mind the night feeds, but they're draining me with the morning sickness :( I think it's coz I don't refuel with food & drink in between feeds at night, so by morning I've had it. Aah well, will just stick it out I guess. Usually by late afternoon I've got energy back and feel better.
OK, must go. Sitting here sipping hot water to settle my tummy.
Catch up later!
-
Hey girls, great to hear from you!!
Liz, sorry to hear you've been down with the m/s, when did it ease up while you were pg with Tallon? How many weeks along are you now? Lucy has been able to get off our bed for quite a while too, she sleeps with us after her morning feed at 6am (used to be 5am). But I'm not game to put her to sleep on her own in our bed, just in case she rolls off in her sleep. At what age is everyone planning on going from cot to bed? (Lucy's cot turns into a bed, so no need to buy another until #2 comes along)
Kas - great to hear from you! Lucy is the same as Liam when it comes to hair, very fair and very fine, and not much of it! We get all excited when you can see it a bit messed up after a sleep as well. She's up to tooth number 9 nearly though, they just suddenly started appearing all at once in the last 6 weeks. Four on the top, four on the bottom and a few more not far away on the top. Thankfully only uses them to bite food...
Lucy knows where her belly button is and finds mine for me too, it's so funny the way she grabs her little pot belly and sticks her fingers in her belly button! Also into feeding herself with her spoon, but surprisingly not messy. I can even reuse the bib for the next meal most times. But given Lucy's love of food I'm not surprised she doesn't want to waste any! One of her favourite games is being chased and that really makes her cackle with laughter.
Well, must go, she's decided to have a late morning nap today (kind of dropping them a bit) so I can get some work done! Hi to everyone else!
-
Yeah - DH plays a RAR! game with him, makes him squeal and run away. I told DH to ease up, coz now Tallon always runs away from him! LOL.
Jen - how cute Lucy finding her belly button. Tallon's taken to proudly lifting up his top these days and patting his belly. He's also started to undress himself (which is a pain in the butt.. coz next will be the nappy!), and then picks up clothes and puts them on or over his head and proudly walks around. He had my bright pink undies on his head the other day.. I got a photo of it LOL (they were clean btw!!) He also takes my slippers off my feet and tries to put them back on. If he finds a sock or something he puts it on top of his foot.
It just amazes me how cluey these bubs are! Yay for all our clever bubs :)
-
Yeah, the ol' undies on the head trick... Lucy knows how to open drawers and doors and some of the best ones are the bedroom drawers that have all of my underwear. I thought it was so funny the first time she walked out with my knickers on her head that I took a photo. Funnily enough, she keeps doing it! And her clothes are constantly strewn throughout the house. Better than the stuff in the kitchen, though! She brings me her own slippers when they come off to put back on, but hasn't yet decided to start taking anything off. If she's playing and takes her hat on and off outside, she gets taken back inside, so I think she's getting the idea that isn't the best way to play... No tears when I do it, I'm kind of wondering when any of my discipline is going to be effective!

Hi girls, Just surfing the net and thought i would pop in and say hi to everyone. I hope you and your families are all well.
Everyone here is doing well. Glad Brad is back at school and getting back to being in a routine- he needs it. He is hoping it doesnt rain on saturday so he can actually play his first official game of soccer - he had a bye the first week and got washed out last week so :crossfingers: . ETA - Brad did really well and enjoyed the game but they lost 4 Nil.
Liam and self settling slowly getting there. His latest trick is to have hands and feet on the floor and with his head either on the floor or close to he looks back through his legs. He thinks it so funny. I think he looks cute with his little tushie up in the hair!!!! Oh and he has definately found his doodle!!!! I won't go into that but i am sure you understand what he is up to  .
DH and I are off to a formal 30th birthday friday night for a girl DH works with. Its kids free so i will be at a loose end. I know most of the people he works with and they are nice but i have little in common with the other women as 95% of them have no kids. The guys are nice too and will talk kids but mainly the blokey stuff. House is a day or two away from lock up stage and then the internals begin.
Anyway my pillow is calling, so goodnight :asleep:
-
Hi girls
Kas, Liam's antics sound very cute. Bet you're enjoying having the time just with him now Brad is back at school. I take it Brad is a very active five year old! Hope his soccer game goes ahead on Saturday, I just think the littlies are so cute running around in their uniforms!
As for us, I've got another bout of mastitis, but I guess I can't complain too much as I haven't had one for 8 mths. Really sick on Saturday, but the antibiotics kicked in by Sunday and I'm fine now. Seriously hoping it doesn't happen again soon! Lucy is doing very well but not helping me when I'm trying to work! She comes over if I'm at the computer for any length of time and lifts up my shirt to tickle my tummy! I do it to her so I guess she thinks it's funny. Kinda cute, but not helping! I have a couple of new clients coming on board now and I'm thinking of getting a nanny two days a week to help out. That would give me three days of being able to work a bit more freely with Lucy still going to my gfs on a Monday. But I'll make a decision next week...
I also put Lucy's name down for preschool next year at a nice little preschool down the road. They only cater for 13 kids in her group and 13 from 3-5, with plenty of teachers. It's only a couple of years old and looks all nice and new still. I think she'll be ready in Feb next year, she already loves socialising without me!
Must go and get some work done while she's having a nap.
-
Hi all.
Jen - i hope the mastitis has cleared up- there is nothing worse is there! I am sure Lucy will love going to pre school next year. It seems so far away, it seems hard to imagine where our little ones will be at by then...more scary than anything else though!!
I think Liams top two teeth may be on the way. He is off his food AGAIN and very restless at night. His gums seem a bit swollen but i cant feel any teeth as yet.
He has pretty much cut down to one sleep in the middle of the day which lasts between 1 1/2 ann 2 hours. He wakes about 7:30am and back to bed between 8 and 8:30pm.
Still a booby boy morning and night and the foods of the week are sultanas and rice bubbles. He loves DH's pancakes that he makes if he is not working on the weekend and the other day had his very own, all to himself, first time ever iceblock...a Callipo. He managed to get through half. He had some lovely facial expressions to start with, prob cause of the lemon flavour ( i didn't think that over too well!!) but thought he was so clever.
The 30th DH and I went to last week was good and the kids behaved for mum and dad. Next week are going to my bosses place for a games night with the rest of the staff and any friends that want to go. That should be a great night out.
Brad had a pupil free day today so they did all the mothers day stuff yesterday. He couldn't wait till sunday to give me my pressies so i got them yesterday. A lovely portrait of myself, a card that inside they fill in all about mum. Apparently i am beautiful and like to go to work, play racing cars and like sandwhiches. I also got a crepe paper flower and from the stall ($2) i got a tea light candle and holder in a lovely little bag.
Ok, i must go Brad "needs" a train set built in his room whilst Liam is asleep so i had better go and help him.
Hi to everyone and i hope all is well.

Hi guys. I feel bad, I've neglected this thread :( Too busy with my belly buddies!
Well, a quick update on us. Tallon has been in his big bed for a while now. Altho he's slept with us the last few nights coz I feel sorry him being in his cold room on his own LOL. He's actually slept right through the last few nights too, so it's tempting to keep him in our room so we can keep getting sleep! hehe. He has his day sleeps on his big bed tho no probs.
Oh, and being the proud mummy that I am, I must boast that Tallon knows the sounds of nearly all the letters in the alphabet :D I think there's about 5 he hasn't done yet. We have a dr seuss ABC book, and we can just flip over each page and he does the sounds unprompted. I think it's very impressive! LOL.
Still not talking a lot. He says bird and ball, but only in a language that mummy & daddy can understand hehe. Signing is going great guns, so he's very well mannered and asks for things nicely using signs. I truly think it's helped with potential behaviour problems, coz he doesn't have any frustrations when talking to us, even tho he's not really talking yet!
Food - OMG he's a PIG! I can't believe how much he eats at the moment. Must be growing! He eats anything and everything too. No fussiness here (yet!).
OK, must go, he's woken up.
Hope everyone is well :)

Hi girls
Liz, i've neglected the thread too, only my excuse is work. Hope the pg is going well and you have every right to be proud of your clever little boy!
Lucy is going through a piggy stage again as well. She had a touch of a cold last week and went off her food a bit, but is back to normal now. I've had to up her weetbix intake to one and a half in the morning, before her toast. She also has a little bit of tea (with milk) in a mug, loves it.
I haven't done much of the signing thing, but she does know 'food', 'boob' and 'drink'. Which really takes out anything Lucy can get whingey about! Not being allowed to get into things when she wants to are her major frustrations, and she is so cheeky. We picked up some stuff for her on Freecycle and her favourite is this great Fisher Price dolls house. I am constantly making sure she doesn't climb on it and the cheeky thing looks at me to make sure I'm watching before she tries. Then she laughs her head off at me when I say no and get her off! So much for discipline...
Must go, more work to do. Lucy is off at playgroup with her nanny for a couple of hours and I shouldn't spend them all on bb.

Long Post Girls
Hi Girls,
Long time no Post Oops! Well i am in my last stages of pregnancy for number two and i must admit i have been very very tired. I can't wait till she is out!
NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED THEN BUT IT POSTED WITHOUT ME PRESSING ANYTHING......?????
Well Miss T is well adavnced for her age, she can climb out of her cot in the middle of the night and come down to our bedroom not just by herself but with her Dolly that Mum and Dad bought her in Europe and all you here is Mum Mum Mum at the side of our bed!!! She has hissy fits if she does not get her own way. She also pulls her nappies off as well which is just terrific too. Daycare has told me that she is so advanced that in the next month they are going to put her into the toddlers room. Aparently she likes to be Miss little boss in the nursery and rocks the babies to sleep in there cots and feeds them you name it she does it. Cute thats for sure but full on too!
She loves to go to Shayla's room now and pull out all of her clothes from the draws and carry them around the house and she also does this with our dirty washing basket as well - she seems to like Jocks on her head! Weird child........
She will also stand at the fridge door and stomp her feet and whinge for food when she is hungry or wants a bottle - at least we know when she wants food i spose! She will hand me the pegs to hang out the clothes once washed and if she doesn't do that she trys to steal the clean washing and put it on her head and walk around with it laughing and carring on.
The cutest thing though i must say we had a drs check up the other day for her ears (will tell you that in a minute) but there was a little 12mth old girl and a 16mth old gilr there so Miss T decides she will go up to the 12mth old and grab her hand and give her cuddles and kisses and then she did the same with the other girl it was so cute. All the grannies were nearly in tears. So at least she has a kind heart and will make a great big sister.
Ears - she has trouble with the draining of her ears so she has been antibiotics for the last mth or more she is booked in to see a specialist 2/7/07 and if need be she has to have day surgery for grommets. So i am hoping this does not have to happen as i am due to give birth 22 - 26/6/07 on the 24/6/07 we have a check up for her at the drs then we go to the specialist so i hope to god i have had the new baby before all of this cause god help me if i haven't. At least mum and dad will be here to help i spose.
Miss T has also discovered toilet paper and how to roll it all off the toilet roll and play with it, she rips it into shreds and leaves it lying all around the house. She also gets into all the cupboards that don't have child locks on them. The most embarrising thing was when the next door neighbour came over and we were talking and the next minute Miss T walks out with a packet of condoms from the bedroom draw and says Mum Mum Mum and hands them to me! I had no idea of what to say but " kids they just get into everything".
Well i won't babble for too much longer but we bought her a playswing set from the shops on Sat and my god that was not a waste of money. If she goes on the swing, slide all of that she is happy but she can't be on it all day etc. So we take her off and the kicking of the legs and the screaming starts it is just pathetic. I am thinking of taking it back. She loves to read books and play girly things like dollies and cups of tea etc. She even trys to feed dolly her milk and food for gawd sakes!
I have bought a potty for her as well as she seems to want to sit on it, i am not pushing this at all just getting her use to sitting on it as i really don't think she can tell when she needs to go to the loo? So all in time i suppose.
Liz - well done to Tallon on abc and sign language, i have not done the sign language but Miss T seems to do it in her own way which i have learnt. But you should be very proud of him smart cooky he is!
Jen - Gosh you sound very busy with your work thats for sure but i spose thats a good thing Yeah!
Well must go now Miss T wants to play and dance etc etc.
Jen

Hi girls
Hope you're all doing well. Jen, I hope the rest of this pg goes quickly for you, must be hard to keep up with an active toddler and cook another at the same time! It is good that I am busy with work, especially since it means I can get extra help around here. Plus, we've started thinking about how much $$ we need put away before I can have another baby. Given that we know how much it affected my working having Lucy. So it's all fitting in with our 'master plan' of waiting another couple of years.
Liz - how are you doing? Are you going along to the Baby expo this week? I'm hoping to be able to, must check the NSW members page to see when everyone else is going.
Kas - how's the house coming along?
Steph - how are you going? When's the reversal happening for you? Thinking of you and hoping everything is going well.
Hi to everyone else.
We've been slack about posting in here, my excuse as per usual is being busy with work. Lucy is growing up so quickly. Not at all into 'girly' things yet, but there's a definite difference between her as a girl and her little friend Hunter (12 mths) as a boy. I swear that child (although a pretty sedate kid) manages to find something potentially dangerous every time he is here! Last week he pulled a knob off the front of the stove, after turning the gas on and I couldn't get it turned off! The week before he stuck a stick up his nose and made it bleed. And he throws things, thankfully not yet into the pool, but they're coming close... Lucy is active, but somehow manages to avoid gassing us all or needing the emergency room!
Lucy learnt to sip from a straw on the weekend, after watching me. I was very impressed, now it means she can use a straw cup (and Hunter can't walk around splashing everything with her normal cup!). She also figured out how to ride on her little ride-on car, only facing backwards to be different. It was too cute, she did it on Friday while Hunter was here and I got it on video. She hopped on and started pushing it along and Hunter went behind her, grabbed the handlebars and helped. They were both giggling away, so pleased I keep the video camera handy!
Well, must go, back to work. Not terribly interesting work today, but you gotta do what you gotta do...

Hi all :hello:,
Jen 13- House slowly getting there. We now have stairs, electrical leads in place, walls, but also a list of things that need to be rectified but i wont get into that cause id still be here by dinner time. DH has holidays for a month in a couple of weeks and we were hoping to move then but its not looking good .
Jen - Hope you are hanging in there and taking care of yourself. I dont think i could handle a new bub anytime soon even if i only had Liam.
Liam loves the toilet paper?!?!?!?!:wall: even thought the bathroom door is shut he grabs any opportunity to go in there and pull it off. Also loves my draw with all the hair stuff and bottles/tubes.
Both boys have the sniffles ATM so i feel like i am forever having tissues in my hand!
Liam loves to dance and clap or tap his hands on his legs when music comes on . He looks so cute bopping along. This morning at Brads school assembly a class did a presentation and when the music started he was "singing" along and dancing. Kind of embarassing but very cute.
I hope you are all well and your bubbas or should i say toddlers are keeping out of trouble

Hi all.
I have been slack posting in here and with no good reason.
Well I do have a little reason and that is that I have been helping my PIL's get their stuff organsied for when they leave. I just helped them with a garage sale and also got rid of a few things of mine, which was so fantastic because we needed money for our car rego and I got it from the things I sold! The exact amount too!
Cailan has been walking for about a month now, he is so cute. Starting to really get a run up too. We go to a pentecostal church and he raises his little arm into the air during worship, it is so beautiful. He is very vocal and told me to shut up the other day. I think he got that from his big brother who tells the dog to shut up. He has 9 teeth, the 8 in the front and a molar has just come through.
Jen13 ~ I have to have a pap-smear before I go any further with the tubal reversal. I go tomorrow for that, not looking forward to it as you can well imagine. Lucy sounds so cute, sipping from the straw and learning to ride her bike. What great timing that you got it on video!
Mum2 ~ I hope your pregnancy is going well and Miss T isn't tiring you out too much!
Kas ~ Glad to hear someone else is having the bathroom/toilet and drawer problems. Cailan goes in to my underwear drawer (only one he can open) and pulls everything out. How embarrassing when FIL sees my knickers on the floor!
Liz ~ How is your pregnancy going?
Hi to all I have missed. Hope all mums and tods are happy and healthy.

Hi guys...
Thought I better pop my head in...
Alexa is almost walkign now.. took 5 steps yesterday before crashing, but walks on her knees heaps...
She has tooth # 11 coming through... how many more to go... arghhhh...
I cant believe how many of you are expecting again.. that is so cool.... I wanna nother LOL
Try & have a read through.... lots to catch up on...!!!
Take care...
-
Hi Mitch - yay to Alexa for walking!!! Clever girl. It is making me a bit clucky too, all of my baby buddy Mums who are having another. But I'm happy to look forward to it for a bit longer yet! OMG at 11 teeth! Lucy has nine (I think), and who knows how many more coming through. I don't really get long enough to look properly. She does let me brush her teeth every night though, so I should check then.
Lucy held her own little mug this morning at breakfast and managed to drink it all without spilling it everywhere. Now she can feed herself properly with a spoon and drink out of a mug which makes it a lot easier to have my breakfast before it goes cold!
Oh, and has anyone else's bub dropped their morning nap altogether? Lucy hasn't been having one since last week and doesn't seem to be missing it at all. Has a good couple of hours in the afternoon still. Altho she's been eating constantly all morning instead!
Must go, work to do. Hi to everyone else!
