Hi everyone
Thanks for all your warm welcomes
We have had even more sickness this week.......Riley had Gastro Tuesday night so i ended up sitting with him upright in the lounge chair alnight. Then Thursday night my DD and myself got it (DD has still got it the poor thing......she is 12) and then yesterday DP got it while at work. So joy joy in our house not........lol.
I hope the next half of the year is better. We are looking at TTC again around August so i just hope i dont end up with really bad morning sickness.......that would just top my year off.
Sasha - What a bugger about S waking so early. Does he have a bottle before bed? Is he getting cold? Riley sometimes wakes that early but i just give in and put him in bed with us until he is back asleep and if im not sleeping alright then i move him back to his bed. He goes to bed about 830pm and wakes about 7am.
Ozziehoffy - Yay on Oskar taking a few steps.......wont be long now.
Cass_Blob - How is Izzy now? as you can read above we have had Gastro too. Dont worry about what other people think, so know whats best and its very hard not to worry about them when it goes on for so long. I was sure the hospital was sick of me ringing and going there when Riley was sick last week.
Saram - Dont be jealous of all the teeth, im sure Ari will catch up in no time........Lol about Ari being a bully.........she would have more stimulation in the toddlers room by the sound of it. Riley is still in babies room, but alot are around his age. Toddler room age starts at 15mths and Riley is 15 mths so wont be long before they will be wanting to move him up :( I dont want him to grow up anymore yet.......
Emma1979 - Riley sleeps on his fold out lounge in the lounge room for his day sleeps. I usually lay with him until his asleep or sometimes he will just go and lay there by himself and fall asleep. Same at night, he goes to sleep on his lounge and we just carry him too his bed. But its funny cause when he wakes up in the morning he just sits there and crys till you go and get him, he wont get off the mattress. I have no idea why, he has no where to fall!! Moving him onto a single bed mattress was the best thing we ever did.
Ok well i had better head to bed. Hello to everyone else. Very quiet in here. Not used to things moving so slowly on a forum.......lol....but its good cause i can keep up.
Take care and i will talk to you again soon
Tash

hey Tash - Hope your family is better now! It took Izzy 4 days of not eating and a couple of days after that to start eating properly. Poor little think hated seeing her so sick! But shes better now back to her cute bubbly self!
Cass - Wahooo Oskar! We should really catch up... meet in the middle somewhere for a play date if you like? Nice park? I'm on holidays from uni now for a month. and kids will be on holidays from next week. Let me know if you would like to!
Umm i can't remember what everyone said! Or even if i've already posted lol. ohhhh so tired! Had a arguement with DP last night. It wasn't good. It's in Punching bag room if you wanna read! so stayed up most of night thinking about what i said he said - and no matter which way i put it I am not in the wrong this time.
-
Hey-lo!!!!!!!!!
Welcome Tash! I hope you family is all better now - not fun with one of you being sick, let alone all of you...
Well, we have been scratching our heads lately - our great little sleeper turned feral on us. Instead of going to bed at 7-7:30, and waking up at 8-9:30, DD has been screaming when going to bed, and taking over a hour to settle, and waking up in the middle of the night, and screaming for an hour, till I gave in, and gave her some milk (she hasn't has any in the middle of the night in just about forever!), and then waking up at 6am. And she has been extra cranky on top of that too! So then last week she got this little rash on her groin, and then it faded by the morning, and then she kept getting a rash on random bits of her body, and fading again. Then on Saturday, we were out in the sun at a school fair, and she was wearing a pair of shorts, and the rash came up quite large and bright on her legs, and by the time we left, it was absolutely everywhere - body, legs, feet, arms, legs and face, and didn't really fade. So I took her to the GP yesterday, and apparently she has "slapped cheek" - which we looked up in our medical dictionary, and went 'oh, that's why it was so noticable on Saturday...' - apparently it gets exacerbated by the sun and heat! And it might also explain her bad sleeping - can cause headaches and a few other things that would have made her uncomfortable, and not want to sleep. Anyway, her being sick has certainly put a dampener on my plans - I was planning on going to the baby expo on the weekend, but now I can't take her near any pregnant women.......so annoying!!!!!
Anyway, I'm at work, so gotta go now...gotta work hard for the money!
Hope you are all good.

Hi everyone!!!
Gosh its been so long since I posted! I have missed out on so much and went dizzy trying to catch up!
Well us in a few seconds: Took Kailee to the paed and got her on some syrup stuff, and she has now been pooing regularly for 7 weeks! Yay! She has slimmed down (unfortunately no clothes fit properly!) and started talking by the moutain load!
She had her first lot of antibiotics ever last week for a nasty chest infection and got diagnosed as having asthma.
Still working hard as always, and now have had the accountant recommend taking on a second job, where I will have time I just don't know, so have been trying to look into the work from home stuff but can't find much to get excited about!
Anyway! Hope that everyone is well and all the munchkins are progressing along nicely! Can't do personals as I can't remember who said what... although I recall a lot of not sleeping... seems to be a thing when they hit 15months according to me ECHN. Who knows! Hopefully they snap out of it soon so you get some sleep again!!!!
-
Just popping in to say Hi otherwise I miss out when the thread gets updated.
Richelle - hope Kailee is feeling better soon,
Hi to everyone nearly finished with our big sale and then I will have more time to chat.

Hello! Its a bit dead in here isn't it? Too much going on in the real world I guess...
We went to a the Toowong shopping centre this morning, and outside their library they have Old MacDonalds Farm - a little petting zoo thing. Just there for the school holidays - which is kind of stupid really, coz there was only very little kids there, the oldest would have been maybe 4-5... Anyway, we went with my sister and her DD (shes 2), and my mum. It was free for us to go in and pet the animals, and you could buy a cup of feed for 50 cents, so a bit of a bargain really!
So DH, DD, sis and her DD all go in, and Mum stays outside the fence with the prams. Emy was kind of excited to see the animals to start with, but when I put her down so that she could pet them she got a bit sooky, and wouldn't get out from between my legs (I was squatting), and really didn't want to touch them at all. So DH bought a cup of feed, and brought it over to us, and that just made the little animals even more excited then they already were, and they flocked towards us. There was mostly just some kids (ie. baby goats), and a couple of lambs, some chickens (various types), some ducks, and one little black piglet. And they were soooo cute! We managed to get some good photos of them with each of the kids, but didn't manage to get them both in the one photo. But it was quite good! We all had a fun morning with them - well maybe Emy could have had more fun (can't blame her for being scared really, she is scared of my mum and sisters dogs when they come too close to her - they like to knock her over on to her bottom, but only coz they are still excitable little puppies - and the lambs and kids were bigger than the dogs, and nearly as tall and Emy, so she could have very easily been knocked over), but my niece had a ball!
Emy is also getting a bit better with her words - can now very clearly say Mummy (sometimes its Mumma), Daddy, and is getting better with Dog (still leaves the G off the end most of the time though). She has started to say Moo when she sees cows, and also knows that when its night time the moon is is the sky (if we go outside after dark, she points at the sky and says MooMoo - not her cow noise, but i don't know how else to spell the noise she makes). And she has finally started to know what some of the things are in some of her books (snake, crab, starfish, moon, etc).
She gets VERY excited when a plane flies overhead, which is pretty often here (we live fairly close to the Amberley RAAF base - maybe 1-2 suburbs over), and we get a C-17 (huge cargo plane I believe) flying over our house maybe every 2-3 days, fairly low to the ground, and if we notice it she gets very excited and points at the sky, kind of jumps up and down, without lifting her feet off the ground, and goes "GaGaa!, GaGaa!". We have NO idea of what word she is trying to say, coz she also says it when she sees a truck - also a very exciting time!
Does anyone elses munchkin get REALLY excited with the garbage truck? The normal bin truck comes while we are still in bed, but the recycle bin truck comes later in the morning after we are up, and if Emy hears it she bolts to the front door and starts bashing it in her excitement. Doesn't matter whether the solid door is closed either, she still bashes it up! SOOOOOOO cute!
We also went to the baby expo on the weekend, and I bought our first ever bunch of MCNs. I put the first one on her yesterday (i work monday and tuesday, so yesterday was my first chance), and she went and did a poo in it! How rude of her! Least she could have done is just wee in the first one she wore....
Anyway, thats about it from me!
Hope you and your kidlets are all good.
Hugs to everyone!

haha Ali, I always get frustrated when Claire does a huge poo as soon as I put a shiny new MCN on her. Cant she just do a poo in the previous nappy instead of waiting for a fresh one? LOL But Woohoo for MCN. They are very nice arent they?
Emy sounds like a pretty Clever little girl with all her words and knowing what things are. We had one of those petting zoo things at our local shopping centre last school holidays. DH took Claire there but she was probably a bit too young for it then as she didnt even seem to notice that the animals were there. She did that thing where they just sort of stare through things and not really look. Claire hasnt really shown much of an interest in planes (we very very rarely get planes over our house) or the garbage truck - it comes at about 4am so we've never really seen it, although I do hear it occassionally, and the recycle truck comes just after I leave the house for work, so we usually miss it. She loves the bin though. Not sure why as its pretty stinky. And, She loves the supermarket, particularly the freezer aisle and especially if she is standing up in the trolley. She's very sneaky though. If I park the trolley too close to the shelf she picks things up and puts them in the trolley so I end up with random things.
Claire's learning new words every week. She says da (dad), me (or maybe its 'mine', its hard to tell), up, no, yeh, baba. No is by far her favourite (and we barely ever say no to her), closely followed by me/mine. Apparently she said Hi 5 the other day when DH put the tv on, and she said peg to my parents the other day. She knows where her bed is and when we say its time for sleeping she goes into her room. She also knows what/who her giraffe is and when I ask her where it is, she'll go find it and bring it to me. She's just learnt what the bath is. When we tell her its time for bath, she goes into the bathroom and waits there for us. She also sits on her chair when we ask her to sit down. We have this book called 'thats not my monster' and she loves it! When we read it we say "is that your monster?" and she shakes her head and says no and then laughs. Its very cute.I think thats why she loves saying no so much.
Well Claire is getting more teeth now. She is getting at 2 teeth right now, the ones next to those pointy teeth (not sure what they're called?), but she doesnt have the pointy teeth yet, so theres a gap between the middle teeth she does have and her new teeth. The teeth arent all the way out, theyre only just breaking through the gum now. She has been so grumpy about it and not sleeping well but hopefully the worst of it is over for now!
Argh, its darn cold here today. I wish the sun would come out a bit more. Stupid whether. I really wanted to put some nappies on the line today!
Hope everyone is well.

(This might be TMI - please don't read if you don't want to know about poo...)
Well I was very happy that at least it was a decent poo for our first one - I had a flushable liner in, and the poo was one of those soft little balls anyway. The ones that hardly leave a mark on a Huggies, but are still soft. She has had some pretty bad poos lately, so it could have been a lot worse! But it was all on the liner, and a just plopped that bit into the loo, and away we went... Didn't stop me from having a little whinge about it though!

Hi Ali, that's what we call a roller :-) I love it when I get the rollers, sometimes we get pancakes - rollers that she sat on and then we have bucketies (they are to gross to roll and go straight into the poop bucket) welcome to MCN's :-) Yeah at the petting zoo! Ari loves animals - a little too much, if we didn't have such a saint of a dog there would be a huge problem. My DS was obcessed with bin trucks, we had a step he could stand on to see them at the window and he would stand there from the first rumble until it went past, up the street and back again, then chase it to the fence if we would let him. He had bin ttruck toys - yes they do make them and he would play bin trucks by crawling around picking up things and tipping them out :-)
Karina - great to hear from you. Ari loves shopping too :-) it's nice to have a shopping buddy. we just got home from the toy sale she had so much fun looking at all the toys

Hey everyone! I love it when i come in here and people have actually been talking! hehe, good to hear from all of you!!!
But i swear i still have baby brain i just read it all then went to do the dishes and now i can't remember what every said lol! So back up the top to read it again lol!
Aghh not going to do personals too much to right hehe! And the laptop battery is going flat and i couldnt be stuffed moving off my comfy couch to go get the charger lol! I sound so lazy! But its really good to just sit down and relax today lol!
All the babies sound very smart! growing up too quickly! Im glad everyone sounds happy and healthy :)
Izzy is just growing up way to fast! She is learning new things every day! She is walking now :) very clever little girl! She is very cheeky! she has learnt to smile and blink her eye lids! She does this alot when she knows she is doing something wrong! still very cute! hehe!
She knows when its bath time or bed time she'll run into the appropirate room.
And she knows when we are going to her Aunty Becs as we turn up the road before becs road she will start getting really excited and jumping around in her car seat (well trying to with the harness on lol ) and will keep that excitment up all the way to the front door its sooo cute! Although my ear gets a bashing with her squeling in excitment lol!
We did our christmas shopping yesterday! Omg our kids have been asoloutly spoilt! I am not spending any more on them loL! Thank god its tax time soon so i can go pay off a huge chunk of it! hehe.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and having a good day!
Take care Cass,

Lol @ roller. I got really lazy and Oskar never went into cloth nappies . He was too little at first and then well hmmm.
It's official that my baby can now walk...lol. I think it was about 2 weeks ago he took some steps between Andy and I and he's now starting to get up the confidence to let go of things on his own and take a few steps. Almost has molar number 4...so teeth count now is 9 and will be 10 when the molar breaks through.
Oskar just had his first tumble down the stairs...omg talk about heart stopping! I saw him on the second step and he's normally not too bad there, but next thing I know he's on about the 4th and tumbling down. Kinda in a comical way like literally head over butt cartwheel style! Landed at the bottom on his tummy and doesn't seem to be injured *phew* Had a HUGE cry and now he's eating a bikky and staying WELL AWAY from the stairs. Hopefully it's actually taught him that they're not to play on as we've been trying to discourage that with not much success. Main thing is though he is ok!
Anyway, just saying hi and glad to see everyone doing well :)
Sarah, when do you come down again?
OMG Cass, I just remembered that I didn't reply to you re: catching up!! I am soooo sorry. I'm cool to do that :) Sometimes I go to Carindale to meet up with my friend cos she lives at Algester. Don't know how far that is from you cos I'm having a brain dead moment and can't remember where you live. Can always go into town as well. PM me or email me cos I forget to reply here sometimes if I'm in a hurry... achoffmann@bigpond.com

hahahah had to laugh at the poo talk. Rollers are the best poos. Pancakes good too. Just need a little more encouragement to roll off.
Cass, OMG at Oskar on the stairs. Claire did that a couple weeks ago when I was talking to the groundskeeper about how horrible the stairs are and can he fix them because theyre dangerous... then all of a sudden, Claire cartwheeels down them. Poor thing. I totally freaked out, but then she stood up , cried for a few seconds then started playing on the stairs again. Its scary isnt it? Good to hear that Oskar is ok though. Woohoo on walking!
Cassblob, wow youre keen - going into the shops when the sales are on. I'm quite nervous in crowds and I dont think I'd be able to handle a crowded toy department in Target/Big W/Kmart etc. Good on you for getting the Xmas shopping done so early though!
We got some portrait done a while ago and they called me to say they are ready. So I'm excited that we'll be getting our photos. Cant wait to see how they came out. I'm going to give one to my mum. She'll love it.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
-
Karina - The sales were fantastic! i had a ball! wayyyyyy Over spent! by hundreds lol! But almost got everyone! i did a layby at Big W ( only had to stay in the line about 30 - 40 mins) but couldnt find everything we wanted so afterwards went over to Kmart sales and did another layby! (and was only in the line for 10mins) :) and might be crazy enough to go to target sales to finish everyone off lol :)

Hey Cass and Cass and Mel...(and any other Brisbanites...!)..are any of you going to the meetup at the Roma St Parklands on Friday? I am more than likely going (depends on the weather obviously), and hope to see at least one of you there! Would be good to put a face to your name after talking for so long...
Anyway, there is a thread about it under the meetups bit...
-
Karina, they're just awful aren't they. Oskar has decided he can brave the stairs again! lol. I found a little graze on his shoulder last night, but that's it. Mind you he also has this lovely bruise about hmmm 3-4 cm long in a straight line across the middle of his forehead from headbutting his change table by accident then there's the bruise under his chin from hitting the coffee table which also happened yesterday and now....lol both he and I have a cold each - mind you it was free...haha. Oh you will have to share a pic of the portrait if you can, mum's love nice pics like that huh.
Ali, I'm really not sure if we're going or not. Joshua is still on school hols and I really don't think he'd want to come and I don't particularly like leaving him home alone all day. I know he's ok and all but he gets bored and gets up to mischief! Which last hols involved making me a larger phone bill...lol... girlfriend ;) haha, he's 15 on Monday. So will make the decision later in the week :)
Cass... at Target if you're wanting one of the bulky items you can actually pre order them NOW. You don't pay anything until some time in August and as long as you have paid 20% by 1st Sept and I think 50% by some time in November. We have done that with one of those Tiny Tikes car things for Oskar but it's going to be for his birthday. I hope he's not too young for it then, if he is then might have to keep it for next Christmas...pmsl.
-
Wow so many Brisbanites on here! Wish i was going to the meet up.
Cass - we are coming down in September (around the 19th to the 4th)
Ari is always bruised from head to toe! She is so busy. The other day she worked a way to climb up on our storeage boxes and kamakazi onto the longue. When she first started walking she was always in the wars.
-
Hey, just bumping us up the list again - we were near the bottom of the second page!!!!
Anyway, Emy and I are both sick at the moment - she has had parainfluenza, and was on antibiotics and prednisone, and I don't know whether she still has that, and her symptoms have changed, or whether she has picked up a cold now, but she is very snotty, and even has runny eyes. Poor thing.
Me? I think mine is just a cold too, but it started on Monday, when I had a really sore throat and couldn't talk properly at all - when I called in sick for work, my boss reckoned I sounded like Marlene Dietrich. Then on Tuesday, no more sore throat, and I was just really really tired - left Emy at mums, then came home and slept for 6 hours during the day before I went and picked her up again. Then yesterday and today I have a really blocked nose! So stupid - this is the dumbest illness ever!
Other than that, Emy is good - learning new words every day i reckon!
Hi to everone! - sorry no personals, but going to go and try to get some sleep while emy is asleep...
-
Hello! I have been MIA! It doesn't feel like I haven't posted for 2 months but I just went back through the posts and my last post was May 9 or something like that! I have never been more busy in my life though...and I have no idea what I do...it certainly isn't anything productive.
We are all doing really well here. Grace is growing up way too fast! She is a real little girl now...a girl with attitude actually, lol. She knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it..don't mess with her!! She take after her mother...poor DH, he has 2 of us to put up with now! She has just suddenly grown up really fast, and developed her own little personality. It is so amazing to watch. I keep thinking back to when she was a baby and can't believe that she was that tiny gorgeous little thing I used to carry around everywhere...it seems like only yesterday that we brought her home! I'm sure everyone feels like that..but wow...it is amazing to watch.
Grace talks alot, some we understand..a lot we don't. Her absolute favourite word it 'fish' and 'shoes' are a close second. 'daddy' is a favourite at the moment too (just not in the middle of the night if she wants a drink..for some reason that is always 'mum'). She says a lot of random stuff...repeats things we say...but then won't say it again for a while. So funny when she says a new word though...we get so excited..she probably thinks we are crazy. She has a phrase that she keeps repeating on a daily basis that really sounds like she is saying 'what is this' and when she says she is always pointing at something..we say what it is and she moves onto something else. Very cute.
She has 9 teeth...6 top teeth and 3 bottom. 3 of these are molars which just snuck out, one day she laughed and I saw them there! Having molars is great as there isn't much she can't chew up now, makes meal time very easy.
Hi 5 is her favourite television program..and all I can say is thank god for hi 5...gives me some free time to have a shower or cook dinner etc. She loves loves loves books...which is great and we read a lot of books (over and over) throughout the day..I have bought her so many books...but we love it. She is also just wanting to climb onto everything lately. Climb onto or under or into..hence we are going to indoor play centre for mum's group tomorrow so that they can climb to their hearts content. She can now get herself up onto the couch, it is so funny to leave the room and come back to find her sitting on the couch like a big girl! She gets pretty proud of herself!
Grace has very very curly hair which she gets comments on daily..it is so cute and hope it stays nice and curly (although I am sure she will curse me for that wish when she is older) but think that it may drop a bit as it gets longer. She had a fringe trim last week as it was far too long...we haven't given her an actual fringe (not a great look with really curly hair) but just neatened it up so if she pulls her clip out she doesn't look scruffy. She is also still very tall and because of that people think she is older than she is. Went into a baby change room the other week and there was a few people in there but not changing babies and the woman asked me did i need a change table or was i good with the toilet! My reply was I wish we could use the toilet,.and then told her she was only 15 months and she was wow, she is tall (tell me something I don't know). BTW curly hair and height...not from me (DH). Attitude...guilty as charged lol.
Continue to work part time...2 days a week...it is working out well. DH loves his time with Grace without me hanging over their shoulder! I do enjoy working but I miss her like crazy too. I joined the gym as well and have been pretty good at going 3 times per week, actually enjoying it!
So more than half of our mum's group is pregnant with the first due on August 1st and then 1 a month until end of december! We are still just hanging in there with mum's group but it is getting harder and harder to get everyone together. One has moved away to the country so we won't see her very much anymore unfortunately. We will hang in there. Luckily I have made some really good friends through mum's group and we catch up and speak regularly even if we can't do a physical catch up. Love getting together though..it's great watching the kids play together. I also love seeing them grow up too..amazing.
Glad to hear that everyone is generally going pretty well other than the occasional illness or teething problem.
Take care. xx
