Jomarie - that's kewl~! that's such a logical reason. and one scenero i didn't think off, lol... i never refer to my brothers as step or half either... and get annoyed when someone says it...
hehe - girls can be very cheeky... i can remember doing that with our babysitters! unfortuntly they new different heheh~
Rachel - have you tried some bottled warm water... i know if izzy dosn't go in that long she to gets grizzely and yuk, water helps! and it dosn't hurt them either.
-
Jo - so pleased to hear no-one else caught that bug. I hate waiting to see who i going to be sick next.
Rachel - I know exactly what you mean! Both my kids would often go out of routine with pooing and it always made them uncomfortable. Some things we have tried - lots of bringing their legs up to their chest, tummy time, increasing foremilk by swapping from breast to breast just after the let down. -ooh I remeber those days well can you believe I was still throwing up on my duedate (and I still want to be pg again) All the best with your test.
Well after listening to you girls stories of your sleping angels I thought I would try wrapping like you do and OMG it works! I just wrap her like we did in hossy but leave one arm out as she liks to suck on that fist and touchwood she has been asleep for an hour and a half!
-
Great Sarah! I have just started to not wrap Nic. We now have him in a Grobag, so have stopped wrapping at night, and he seems to be sleeping ok so far. I still wrap him during the day though as it settles him straight away. He does love to suck on his hands too, so that is helping to lessen his dependance on the dummy. I hope Ari keeps on sleeping for you!
Cass - the girls don't often refer to themselves as step sisters either, unless they are trying to explain their age difference. They fight just like my sisters and I, they are also best mates and look out for each other. Luckily, they are in different years at school, so they do have different friends, and Chloe now does Guides and Jas does dancing, otherwise they would spend all their time together!
My mum just called to say that last night when she was putting Nic to bed, she was sitting next to the cot, patting his bum, and he smiled. She thought it was just wind, but then he giggled! She was hysterical, and was wondering what he could possibly be laughing at! He's just SOOOOOO cute! Just now when I was putting him to bed, he was laying in his cot, just looking up at me and cooing. I could just cry, I love him so much :heartbeat:

Rachel, gosh what a night, i hope little Grace sleeps better for you tonight. Hopefully she'll do a poo and will feel a whole lot better. I remember reading in another thread someone mentioned you can gently rub babys anus for about 30 secs and it can sometimes make them do a poo. Luckily the storms today were nowhere as bad as predicted so no we didnt get blown away! Hope you get the result you want when you test.
Jo, yay on your first night out. Its nice to have a night out after so long isnt it. We went on our first night out about 3 weeks ago and my parents babysat. How cute that Nic smiled and giggled at your mum!
Sarah, yay about Ari having a nice sleep! Claire loves sucking on her fist too and makes so much noise while doing it.
Claire has been really strange with her feeding lately. She will only feed for about 5-10 minutes each time then she will either fall asleep or push me away. Sometimes she'll one or two sucks then come off and look around, then attach again and do a few sucks then come off again.. and she'll keep on doing this. I try to burp her and stuff but it doesnt make a difference and her nappy is not full. Anyone elses bubs doing this? I feel like I am not feeding her enough sometimes.
-
Well the wrapping worked a treat she slept without stirring until 4am, I got so much done without having to get up and resettle her every 15min.
Hi Karina, now that we are not using the sheilds ari only feeds for 15 min tops and she is on and off ALL the time. I was going to post about it too. SHe'll stretch and push away from me but doesn't have to burp or anything. I know with Xander around 5mths he started to get distracted while feeding so we got one of those BF necklaces with big shiny beads which helped him focus towards me
Jo - how gorgeous. They know just how to melt your heart don't they.
-
Hello...had a normal light last night thank god! She still hasn't pooed but doing lots of really stinky farts today so hopefully not too far away.
Cass - I asked the MCHN about water and was told that she doesn't need it as she gets the water from me. If she hasn't gone in another couple of days I think I will definitely be giving her some though.
Karina - Grace has been doing that for over a month. I posted in the breastfeeding chat thread and didn't get many responses unfortunately, but she is putting on weight, happy in between feeds and lots of wet nappies. Also if I try to express after feeding her there isn't much left (I can get maybe 20mls, whereas if I express while DH bottle feeds I can get over 140ml). I worried about supply but so far so good. I usually persist with the coming on and off for a couple of times then sit her up for a burp. Sometimes burps sometimes doesn't, so put her back on again then swap sides and we go through it again. She usually feeds in 10 minutes (both sides). As long as she is happy, putting on weight and having wet nappies then she is getting enough.
Jo - I feel the same way. The love is amazing isn't it! How cute that he smiled and laughed at your mum.
Sarah - yay on the better sleep. We have just started to wean Grace out of the wrap as she is constantly trying to suck her hands. We want to get her into a sleeping bag. Good luck with it.
Went for a walk this morning - can't believe how many people were out walking at 9am! It was cold and foggy too. Grace is currently ont he floor with her nappy off (I am praying for poo!).
-
Cassblob - Yes it is as cold as you think!! It's great to be back in Adelaide and be so warm again!
TJ is having a very awake day today so I can't stay!
xoxoxo

Man, leave you girls alone for a few minutes and talk talk talk...pmsl...do I sound like a teacher??
Sarah, that's fantastic about Ari's sleep!! We still wrap Oskar at night but from under the arms and then I put another blanket over him which hold his arms down but he can get them out when he wakes up cos he likes to rub his eyes and chew his hand. What's a BF necklace??
Rach, I hope you get a poo soon!! Man, we do become strange after kids huh!! I'd try some more tummy time and pushing her legs up so her knees are on her tummy like was suggested cos that can really help. Oskar hasn't gone more than 2 days before but it's amazing how you notice it and hope for it. Yay for your friend be pg!! How exciting.
Awww Jo, that's sooooo cute!! Oksar does that sometimes, just giggles at what appears to be nothing and it's just gorgeous and sure does make your heart melt. I was feeding him just before and looking down at him and I just love him more and more!! Sometimes he is feeding and just looking up at me and if I talk to him he grins and tries to still suck but can't so I laugh and then he laughs sometimes. Aaahhh it's hard to believe how much more you can love them when it already makes your heart just burst huh! Maybe it's cos by the time they're older and being naughty teenagers we love them so much we can't disown them...lol.
Karina, Oskar does that sometimes once he's fed for about 10 mins. Joshua did it really bad once he was about 5 months old cos he was a stickybeak!!
Well, we went shopping today cos I wanted to get some jeans (Target had some for $20) but I had to wait till the weekend so Andy could come and keep Oskar occupied while I was trying them on. So I fed Oskar and after he had a nap we went to the shops and would you believe it he actually went back to sleep in his pram after we got there!! So, I found some jeans (YAYAYAYAY) and a nice jumper too... hehe ;) Then he woke up but let us eat some lunch without even whinging! Then I fed him... it was almost 4 hours since his last feed! What a good little possum :) If only he'd do that when we're at home...lol. This afternoon we've been cutting down some yucky palm trees out the front and he thought it was fun the big bang they made... or it could've been me he was grinning at cos I was clapping going YAY to him so he didn't get scared from the noise and would think it was cool. Either way, my front yard now looks so much better.

Hi everyone...not much time, but just wanted to say that Nicholas slept for 12 hours last night!!! :happyforyou:
We put him down at 7pm as ususual, then, at 11pm, when we normally would wake him to give him a "dream feed" we left him and he slept until 7am! OMG we were so happy! Are hoping for the same tonight, but not counting on it!
-
BTW - how do you put the photos up next to your tickers???
Never mind!!!
-
awww jo thats such a cute picture on your ticker! and woohoo on the nice long sleep!
-
How do you put pictures on your signature?
-
Caro, that's EXCELLENT!! Yay Michael :D
Jo, how fantastic! Oskar varies his night sleep times and usually it's anywhere between 8 1/2 to I think 11 hours has been his best. Hopefully Nic continues on for you.
Nat, what kind of pics do you mean?
Oskar put himself to sleep this morning!! I was patting his bum but he wasn't settling too well so I thought, I'll rock him when I finish what I was reading... but then I looked over and he'd gone to sleep... WOOHOO.
-
Natty do you mean the pictrues in tickers?? I got my ticker from Lilypie and it gives you the option to insert a photo.
Claire is still waking up 2 times at night - usually around 1am and again around 4 am. Ive just packed all her clothes away that are too small, and Ive gotten out all the bigger clothes,so now she has all new outfits!! Its very exciting even though I'm sure she probably doesnt realise! I found her outfit she wore when we took her home, and omg its soooo tiny compared to the ones she is wearing now hehe.
-
Cass - yay on Oskar putting himself to sleep. Grace will do it after the 4-5am feed but at no other time.
Karina - It's sad packing away the smaller clothes isn't it! Plua, they are so cute that I thought it was unfair that she only got to wear some of the stuff twice. I had to rearrange her draws so that I could fit all of her new clothes in! I have her in a 00 outfit today but I think it must be a smaller size. She looks so cute. I know what you mean, the outfit Grace wore home was a 00000. Tiny!
Weighed myself this morning - I lost 1kg last week - YAY! It's a start. Went for another walk this morning, it's quite a nice time to be walking, very crisp -it was only 7 degrees, i had to pull the beanie out!
Grace still hasn't pooed poor little thing. Day 6 today. Hmmm..do you think I should give her water even though the MCHN said not to? How much water do you give? We are doing lots of floor time, tummy time, moving legs around, massage, nothing has helped yet. Hope it does soon.
DH is on annual leave for 4 weeks from today - YAY! He finished 2hours late so he is still asleep poor buggar. I'm so excited to have all of us together for 4 weeks.
Have put more piccies on the site if anyone is interested. The link will take you to photo's of the first 3 months. To get the next lot go to sets which is on the left side and you'll get the 3-6 month set.
Grace is asleep in her cot - it is getting easier so maybe I just need to keep persising. I am also trying what Jo does and keeping her up as long as possible but she still gets very grizzly over 1 and a half hours so that's about our limit for now, but she does generally wake half hour before her feed now and has some more play time.
ooops, spoke to soon...
-
hi everyone
wow so much to catch up on in 4 or 5 days of not being online!
Karina-did you get hit by the wind and rain again on Saturday? We copped it and lost a few branches but thankfully they blew away from the house! Though we went without power again! It sucks where we are the slightest breeze and the power goes off.
Weighed the little fattie today.... 6.95kg (clothed) at 14weeks 1 day. Little heffer! Its so much fun to be around her now, sher does something new and exciting every day! It is going to be sad going back to work next month.
Better go get these bottles washed
-
Richelle, we copped rain but not really much wind. thats good you didnt have damage to your house from the fallling branches. Argh about losing your power though - how annoying! Woohoo on Kailees wieght gain. havent weighed Claire in a couple weeks but she sure feels heavy now! They get big so quick dont they. I'm meant to be going back to work in August, but i dont really want to :(
Rachel, Claire was in 00000 too and now I look at them and theyre so tiny. She is in 000 mostly now. yay on losing 1kg! and woohoo on your DH being home for the next 4 weeks. I am looking forward to school holidays in a few week s when my DH can stay home with me!
-
Rachel - WTG on the 1kg. I am too scared to weigh myself as I have been relying on chocolate to get me through some days!I tell you, this parenting business is hard work!
Richelle - I am going to weigh Nic tommorrow, so I will be interested to know if he has caught up with the rest of the bubs in here! He certainly looks bigger and is well and truly in 000's now. I bought him a couple of pairs of 00 trackies today, but they are way too long. At least they keep his feet warm!
Nic has had a few unsettled days lately. Not sleeping well and having colicky type problems. At least he is still sleeping through the night, so I can't complain, and thank god for my HAB or I would never get anything done! He is starting to try sitting up when he is laying down now. He lifts his head to look at his feet, so cute.
