Rachel, I'll have to see it. I thought it looked fab on the ads and have been wanting to see it. I didn't realise until just recently that John Travolta was the mum. I saw it on Sunrise I think. Sounds like she just may be teething... poor little love. Oskar seems to be doing so much better. He's hardly coughing now, still has a bit on his chest and a bit snotty. He's definitely a lot happier now.
Caro, I'm anal too with things like that. When we moved I found it so hard cos Andy had packed some things and unpacked them and I still don't know where some things are :( lol. I'm such a control freak I swear!
My cat is gone now :( Such a hard thing to do and he was crying in the cage when they put him in the car... didn't like that bit at all. He's gone to a very good home though and they will dote on him like nothing else. Andy came home with some ultra yummy Lindt choccies for me cos he knew it was hard for me to do... hmmmm mental note... make sure we have things which are hard on me so I get yummy chocs!! lol. I think I'm about half way through this cold... Last night I kept waking cos I kept getting that awful tickle thing which sends you into fits of coughing! I woke Oskar up at one stage cos we are sleeping together atm and Andy is in the spare room. So today I'm feeling rather like a Zombie. Good thing I don't have anything major to do. Was funny though cos I went to the doc this morning about my back. They were squeezing me in so I raced down there, was just about to get Oskar out of the car and realised I'd left my purse at home...pmsl... zombie!!! I raced home and went back but man I thought...dahhhhh!!

Rachel - good to hear the movie was good.
Caro - I have moved a number of times (too many to think about) and we always have the moving company pack and they do an unpack on any flat surface so they won't put anything in shelves or cupboards etc. But it actuallly works well as I have to work fast clearing the surface so they can keep unpacking. My tips are to see if someone can watch the kids for you so you aren't interupted. We make up signs that say the names of each room ie main bed kid bed 1 study etc and blue tack them up so that the removalist put the labelled boxes in the right spot. Keep in mind professional packers don't pack like you and I, they use your clothing to protect your bedroom oranaments. They pack fast and they pack randomly. I have an off limits room which they cannot pack usually the bathroom where we store our suitcases with clothes for the next few days, tea coffee, jug, wallets etc. The first time we moved I was upstairs only to come down to find they had packed my breast pump, bottles, dummy nappy bag purse and car keys that were on the dining room table and had loaded them on the truck. All the best for the move
Cass - hugs for giving up your cat. Are you able to contact the new owners and see how he is going? RE the dr - I do stuff like that everyday. Hope you anOskar are on the road to recovery
-
Caro - I am so sorry you have been having such a hard time. It can really get you down when your babies are sick, and there is nothing you can do to fix it. Also, moving house is one of the most stressful events you can have in your life, so take it easy, and be kind to yourself! If it helps to have someone there unpacking, then do it! Personally, I don't think that would work for me as I am too anal as well! I would just have someone move the big stuff and out the boxes in the right rooms. Sarah's suggestions are great - have someone watch the kids and putting up signs on the doors! Good luck!
Cass - HUgs to you for having to give away your cat! I understand how difficult that was for you. I am sure he will be happy in his new home, and they will give him all the love he needs. So cute with Oskar giving you hugs now!
Ali - that sucks about J's car! I hate spending money on things like that, esoecially when there are other things you would much rather be spending your money on!
Rachel - a friend saw Hairspray the other day and said it was fantastic too. Said she didn;t want it to end! I must go and see it!
Karina - I have the Jolly Jumper on a stand as we have no door frames either. My sister got it from a garage sale for only $30, so it was a real bargain. I htink they are about $100 to buy new, and I haven't seen them in any of the shops.
Hi, sorry to anyone I have missed! I have been busy planning our holiday to QLD in November this week. We will be in Brissie for a few days for DH to do some business, then to the Gold Coast for a week to relax and do the theme parks. We might also make the trip up to Australia Zoo as the girls LOVE Bindi Irwin and her new show on the ABC. Nicholas is going beautifully! He is just such a gorgous baby! He laughs a lot now, and is very playful. Last night he rolled over on his bredroom floor, and banged his head on the corner of the door! I felt terrible, as I should've moved him further away from it, but am not used to him being this mobile yet! He is pushing up on his arms now, and trying to wiggle forward, but still goes in circles. He is loving his food, especially banana and avocado. He is sleeping really well too. Only waking once in the early morning (about 4-5am) but as soon as we put the dummy back in, he will go back to sleep for another hour or two. His day sleeps are also improving. He has up to 2 hours each sleep now, and a short nap in the late afternoon. He is much happier getting all this sleep!
-
Sarah, love your moving suggestions!! What a great idea your signs are. So simple yet effective. At the moment I don't have a direct number to the new owners for Monty. Andy used to work with their friend so we're waiting for John to call us to let us know. I'm thinking he must be going ok as we haven't heard anything. I hope he is anyway. I did mention Andy bought me choccies though right??
Jo, we live right near Australia Zoo!! You will seriously have to drop in! It would be great to meet you. If it's warm weather we even have a pool if the girls want to have a swim. Sounds like Nic is really settling himself into a nice routine. I can't get Oskar to do it yet..lol. I guess he kinda has one but it's his style and not mine if you know what I mean. He's not doing too badly though, at least he does pretty well at night which is the main thing. I wish though that I could get him to go back to sleep without a feed at 5am!
Caro, I hope Michael is on the mend, it's yuck I know and hard not to worry about our little boys.
It feels so weird not having the cat around though. Last night I was putting an apple danish (MAJOR YUM) in the oven and turned to check the cat wasn't there cos I'm so used to him just running up the stairs if he heard you in the kitchen. We went over to Bribie Island and had some lunch there. Then we laid a rug down under a tree and Oskar had his lunch and a play. He loves being outside and checking everything out. He also had his first feel of the sand with his little chubby feet. Yup, got pics too... just putting them up at the moment so they will be on the site if you want to check them out. I had to buy him a new hat cos I totally forgot his. I was thinking ..I'll grab his hat in a min but then got there and went...dah!! lol. BABY BRAIN! Oskar is feeling much better now thanks and I'm a lot better too. So, all is good. Oh and forgot to mention... Andy made Oskar a hat from a napkin...pmsl so that's gonna be there too... still working on the pics at the moment, not much longer ;)
All done!! New pics are in the 4 - 6 month folder and are pics 10 - 25!
-
Caro, that's ok!! You've had more than enough on your plate to deal with. Awww thanks, I love how photogenic he is.
-
Hi all, grr got AF again, sucks! I think it changes my milk too as Ari has been super fussy. I just gave her a bottle as she was squeezing my boob and swapping from side to side and just wouldn't settle. Went and did some clothes shopping today as Sunday trading just started here and we ha big sales - woohoo. Thought I'd better get some stuff for work next year that fits properly.
Cass - How are you going? Have you heard how Monty is going? I have moved more times than I care to think about and generally big moves ie Maryborough to Mount Isa etc so I have had lots of experience with moving with children
Caro - hope Michael is feeling better soon. I used to hate having someone else pack too and still whinge to DH with the way they pack but after having a 4 bd house packed and on the truck from scratch while DS was at school I can't complain. Also if they don't pack it they won't cover it if it gets broken. Hope all tthe arrangements are going well

Hi ladies, hope you hd lovely weekend.
Its been house of cranky baby here all weekend, so no sleep! She has been screaming tonight for a couple of hours and I've only just managed to settle her by knocking her out with my booby. I've been getting some egg-white type CM last couple days so wondering if AF is coming back and its making my milk different.. We hve been giving her solids too so it might just be a tummy ache from the new foods.
We tried pumpkin today and it ended up everywhere - all over her face, on her hair, in her ears.. I think she enjoyed it. I have lots more in the freezer!
Cass, Oskar is so beautiful, and yes he definately is very photogenic. LOL I wish I was photogenic! heheh at the paper hat picture! Too cute. Hope your cat is doing well at his new house and his new 'mummy and daddy' are spoiling him.
ok well I was going to do a great long post but I'm so tired so maybe some other day!
-
Sarah, AF sucks!!! I reckon that not getting AF is one of the best things about being pg and BF...lol. YAY for Sunday trading!! I love shopping too much sometimes...!!!
Karina, I hope Claire isn't giving you too much of a hard time :( PMSL @ knocking her out with your boob... if I didn't know you were BF I would've been like WTF??...hahah. I wish I was photogenic too!! Oh, I love the paper hat... his dad is just a dag I'm afraid...lol. Haven't heard about Monty yet, Andy sent an email today. I'm feeling a little down about it actually cos I really want to know that he's ok. I'm sure he is, but just need to hear it I think.
Oskar had his first mashed potato last night and it went down quite well I think. He was getting fussy every time it cooled too much for him so I had to reheat it twice!!! Oh well, cold potato isn't really the yummiest thing. I bought a swimming nappy for him off Ebay and just received it today... now I can't wait to try it!! I'm tempted to give it a go in the bath..PMSL. I think Oskar would be thinking OMG mum what the hell are you doing?????? Have you lost your marbles...... I go in the bath NAKED dammit!!! ahahahahahah..... ahhh well I think I better go and start to do something about some dinner. Ciao bella's!!!!

Hi all, well I have a bit of a controvertial post but please let me start out by saying I'm not a 100% comfortable with it myself so please if you feel strongly about it please don't tell me. Ok went to the dr today for ari's 6mth check up and she is great, lost a bit of weight from all the illness but I expected that, Anyway spoke to the dr about ari's constant waking and inability to sleep during the day and everything we've tried and she prescribed phenergen - which lets face it is basically a sedative. Her idea is to try it at bedtime for 3-7days and see if it helps her relax and get her into a routine (and give me a break otherwise I might just break) She also gave us a bit of a change in schedule to follow inc upping ari's solids. Basically told us to offer solids before breast as she is obviously getting enough milk and is thriving but might not be staying full enough for long enough with maj milk in her tummy. So tonight after giving her solids and the min dose she has gone down, still woken twice but that is SO MUCH BETTER. I have actually got the housework and some business stuff done and now going to bed - wow, I am recharged already but I feel terrible about giving her medication to help her sleep :-( I know that it's not just a case of trying differnt things as we have tried them all and anyone who has actually witnised me trying to get ari to sleep is amazed at what we have to go through and with DS home on holidays with his little quirks it is just not working. Anyway theres my whinge/vent/don't know what else to call it.
Karina - that's awesome that claire is having fun with her food, Ari had a bit of a unsettled period for a few days after starting solids hope she is feeling better soon
Cass - woohoo on the swimmers hope you have fun at swimming!
-
hi ladies... Guess what I'm Engaged!!! Tim finally popped the question on saturday! it was all very romantic making me breakfast in bed (i tell you a girl can get use to that lol) i said yes the boys were over the moon :) it was very lovely :)

Caro - i hope you n your family gets better soon...
Sarah - i hope Ari start sleeping better soon...
Cass- those swimmer nappies r so cute hehe!

See you all... Foreverone i missed : huggs :)
-
WOW cass_blob - CONGRATS!!:clap::clap:
Sara - I hope Ari settles down for you soon and you both get some good nights sleep, hopefully changing the solids time around will keep working - do what you feel comfy with.
Ozziehoffy - Yep, that was one of my most liked things about being pg - no AF!
Karina - Nice to hear Clarie's liking the solids now - so much fun and messy!!
Rachel - Emily loves her rusks as well, i love watching her face while shes eating it - very excited!
Nothing new here, just thought i pop in and say HI, off to a friends tomorrow for lunch and a catch up with her and another friend and all our babies! Take care.;)
-
Hey all!
Nothing much happening around here - J and Dad put a new engine in J's car on the weekend, and now we just have to get it checked out by the mechanic to make sure that everything is right. Emy has a cold and is very sniffley, so is not that happy a chappy. ANd I'm still the same.
Sarah - I hope that you don't have to medicate Ari for too long. I wouldn't be very happy about medicating Emy either... but if you have tried everything else, and you are desperate, then you have to do what you have to do. After all, you need to get some sleep and look after yourself too.
Cassie - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Did he have the ring ready? If so, what's it like? Or are you going to go looking together?
Karina - I had this weird mental picture of you flinging your boob at Claire, and actually hitting her in the face with your boob. It's quite funny in my head!
Caro - I hope you and your family get back on track soon! May be change of environment in your new house will make things better!
Hope you and your babies are all good.
xxooxx
Hope you and your babies are all behaving.

Hi Girls
Just wondering if i can join your little forum?
My Son was born on the 22nd March 07..
We live in Cairns and are in the process of moving from one suburb in Cairns to another..
Then have to fly down to Brisbane next Month as my DH has a course for work, So we will be spending the next 3 months down there...and in that time travelling to NSW and VIC for weddings!
So much is happening all at once!
Would love to chat to you all..
-
Sarah  to you. I know you don't like it and I KNOW how you've tried so many different things. I wouldn't like to either but your sanity and ability to hold it together is vitally important to keep going. I hope that this helps to break her habits and that maybe she'll start to settle on her own :)
Cass... WOOHOO!! :D How right you were the other week ;) Congratulations! Yay Iz... clever little princess.
Ali, I hope that the car wasn't too much of a problem! I hope you and Emy get better soon :( It's no fun being sick or having a sick bub.
Dragon, of course you may.. 22nd was my EDD... went over though..lol.
Apparently Monty (the cat) is doing just fine, has claimed the middle of a queen size bed as his own and is being completely pampered. I do miss him though. Oskar is wanting solids now. Last night and mid morning today he was grizzly and I gave some to him and it worked... and he was opening his mouth and eating away. He had carrot last night and pear today. Tonight he will have either avocado or sweet potato. He's all better now I think... not coughing or anything now so that's great! Hmmmm can't think what else I was going to say... baby brain!
-
Cas - Congrats on your engagement!!! Very happy for you darl. xx
Caro - wow, those pics of the car were full on! I am amazed that noone was killed!
Cass - Glad to hear that Monty is doing ok. We are still deciding whether or not to head up to Australia Zoo when we are over in Brissy. There is a couple of Wildlife park at the theme parks that I have been looking into as well, so not sure. Do you have any other recommendations for thigs to see with the kids? I will be in Brissy for a coupld of days while DH has some meetings. We are staying in Spring Hill, so I suppose I can just walk to places in the city.
Dragon - welcome! What is your DS name?
Hi everyone else, sorry, can't remember what everyone else has said (again!)
Nic is doing great. He is making his first attempts to move this week. He is enjoying being on his tummy now, and reaches for things in front of him. He hasn't quite got the idea of how to go foward just yet, but is pushing up on his arms. He is going great with his food, and so far, he has liked everything we have given him. I started to give him a piece of pair in one of those mesh things, and it kept him happy for about 1/2 an hour! Well, had better go and gve him a feed before I have to collect the girls. xx
-
CASS, congrats on your engagement, thats great news !! :) yay for Izzy rolling. How cute. She'll be rolling all over the place soon! Claire rolls everywhere. The other day she was sleeping on our bed while hubby was reading in the bedroom and she woke up and rolled off the bed onto the floor. She was very cranky.
Cass, Yay that Oskar is so much better now. poor little guy. Thats great that Monty is doing well at his new home. Are you going to keep in touch with his new owners and get updates on him?
Dragon, hello and welcome!
Sarah, hope Ari is ok. ikwym about giving her medications, I'm not 100% comfortable with giving Claire anything either. Hope she settles down for you and you dont need to use anything for long.
Jo, woohoo for Nic loving his food so much! Claire is still not so sure about food.
Had another busy day today. Got my car fixed so now I can actually drive places! It had problems before where it would stall every 10 metres, and it wasnt just operator error. I had to get some stupid part replaced and it was rather expensive! But its good that I dont have to rely on bus if I want to go anywhere.
My mum came to visit today which was nice. Claire thought it was all very very funny and laughed at my mum lots. It was our anniversary yesterday and we are going to go out one night this week when I am feeling better. Mum cant wait to baby sit! Typical first time grandmother!
Went out today to the post office and bought 16 books for $20! Bargain! They are picture story books for Claire. I do already hve some books, but I want to get into the habit of reading to her more often so I got some more books. On my way back home I saw about 40 people standing outside John Howards electoral office protesting about something. They must have thought it might get nasty because there were police guarding the entrance of the building. I didnt stop and talk to anyone, but I'm guessing it was something to do with people with disabilities or nursing home funding or something, as most of the people were in wheel chairs, had downs sydnrome and other various disabilities and were holding signs like 'howard, would you want to live like this". So yeah that was s bit of my excitement for the morning!
Claire also had some pumpkin today. I still dont know if she likes it though. I suppose she doesnt understand the concept of it yet as when I put it in her mouth she pushes it back out with her tongue and it ends up everywhere. Very cute, but sooo messy. I think she is swallowing some though as DH said her poo stunk reallly really bad, and thats coming from a man who can never smell anything, so it must have been pretty stinky!
oh gosh sorry, i have just totally crapped on! sorry.
-
Thank you all for your congrats :) I'm sooo happy :)
Ali he already had the ring, its a gorgeous simple gold band with a diamond at the top... gorgeous xx...
Dragon - welcome, we would love to have you :) where abouts in brisbane are you staying :)
Cass glad to here oskar is all better, and monty is happy.
Caro - i have come to learn ur post are always intended for good xx
Jo marie - isn't it cute when they attempt to go on all fours!!! izzy gets up on her hands and falls in a heap hehe...
Karina - ohh poor clair - i remember my brother doing that, he left a big dint in the wall too! I love laying down reading izzy books, we have story time every day... but i need to go get some more books too, otherwise i'll go stir crazy with the same ones :)
oKay's i'm still buggured me and izzy going for nap :) nighty night
-
Caro... forgot to tell you that I got the Orajel thanks :) How's M & C going? Packing going a little better?
Jo, drop me an email at achoffmann at bigpond dot com and I'll send you my mobile number so we may be able to catch up for a coffee or something whilst your over this side of OZ!! Nic is powering along nicely by the sounds of it! They're really cute at this age and sooooo interactive now it's cute.
Karina, I think that we'll get updates of Monty through the guy Andy used to work with, so that will be nice. I must admit that I do feel a bit better after hearing that he's taken over the bed already, so he is settling in. I do miss him though but it's all good :) What a GREAT bargain on the books! I love it when you get bargains. They make you feel so good...hehe. You're allowed to gush too btw ;)
Picked up Oskar's Pixi foto today... soooo cute! I remained strong and didn't buy any of them though, just took my freebie!! They seriously are expensive though for what you get. I made some jelly for Oskar this arvo, haven't tried it yet as it's not set. I tried him on apple and mango but he's not liking it! It was a Heinz one cos I was out yesterday and he was getting grizzly and I thought he might be hungry and I didn't have any food on me (will have to start taking some I think)... anyway, he didn't like it!! Better get onto dinner now... making a yummy dessert tonight... lemon delicious with ice cream!!!
