Aww thanks Sarah and Shell... :)
Sarah... OMG HONEY YAY!!! I bet you felt very strange! I would've woken up in a panic too. I seriously hope that she continues doing this on a regular basis for you.
Ali, what a royal pain in the butt!! I HATE it when crap like that happens! That's like the pile of bills sitting in front of me right now... well over $1000 and have come in just over the past week and a bit!! I seriously need to see if I can space some of it out as there are insurance and rego included. It's raining, it's pouring... pmsl bills that is!
Cass, it's not a rod hun... they can go through stages like that. I noticed that sometimes Oskar would start crying if I laid him down... but as soon as you sit him up instead he'll stop... maybe she wants to sit? If you have a walker or something you can also place that near the toilet so she can see you ;) Oskar comes in the bathroom with me all the time and is very quiet if I'm in the shower washing my hair, like he's fascinated. Oh I had to do an RBT when I was pg with Joshua and I looked at the cop and then my belly and went... ummmm no I don't think so!! lol.
Rachel, I hope that you haven't done anything bad to your knee and I hope Grace's little tooth pops through so she's not upset anymore. I hate seeing the pain they can go through, it's so hard cos they can't even tell us what it is that is hurting :(
We went to the beach today with some of the other mum's and well let's say that the water coming up onto his feet did NOT impress him and in fact he started screaming!! lol.. like it was biting him! A couple of the other bubs also screamed. It wasn't too cold, actually felt rather nice. It started to rain (one of those lovely storms we've had come over rather fast) and it got him on the legs and he started crying again.. so maybe it's he doesn't like the water if it's not the bath?? Was a little amusing though...hehe... ooops bad mummy!!!! Must be off cos it's past bedtime for the boy!

Cass – way to go Oskar!! What a champ. I would have given him first prize though as he is just soooo gorgeous! But third is great too! About catching up, where is close enough to you to catch up? I will be in Brisbane from the 7th November, and we are still deciding if we will go to Australia Zoo or not. How far are you from Brisbane?
Sarah – WTG on the sleep! I hope she keeps this up for you.
Ali – that sucks about the car. I would be annoyed too!
Cass – Nic is going through this clingy thing as well at the moment. Every time I put him down, and leave the room, he cries for me. He is better now that he is sitting up on his own, as that seems to distract him a bit, but whenever someone else holds him, he cries. He also cries when his daddy leaves the room. He is quite sensitive to that at the moment.
Rachel – I hope your knee is ok, and you don’t need surgery. As for your weight, try not to beat yourself up about it. Having a baby changes your body so much and it can take a while to get back into shape. I have been doing weight watchers to try to get back to my previous weight, and although it is hard, it works for me. I also have DH on it too!
Well, we bought a tree today. I am very excited, as this is the start to my garden that I have been planning for over a year now. It is a Chinese Tallow and is beautiful. Aside from that, Nic is beautiful. He woke up at about 6am and had a bottle at about 6.30am as he was so hungry, then we put him back to bed at 7am as he was so tired (he is usually awake at least 2 hours before a sleep), and he slept for 2 ½ hours! He has never slept this long during the day, even as a new born! Amazing, and so lovely as I went back to sleep and got to have a sleep in myself! Still surviving the school holidays. The girls seem to be fighting a lot this holidays, don’t know why. Their room is still tidy and they have really been looking after their new stuff. That’s about it really!
-
Shell - not really liking it at the moment cos its wearing me out. shes only sleeping small naps so the only time i get to do anything is while she sleeping and i can't make much noise. . . Even if she's with her dad she's right for a minute but if i walk past she screams for me.
bec - Hows seb? Izzy's top eye tooth looks like its comming through and its causing her so much pain poor little mite.
Rachel - hope there is nothing serious wrong with your knee. . . And hope grace's tooth comes through quickly with no more pain!
Cass - i think half of the time she wants to sit. And half the time she just doesnt not want to see me! congrats on oskar getting third!!! wahoo! hehe izzy didnt cry when we went to the beach she thought it was awesome... shes definitly a water baby!
Im still waiting on our swimming instructer to send the photos of izzy under neath the water swimming and standing up on the intructors hand... when they come through i'll put them in photobucket!
I think i've solved my problem a bit... We had a inflatable raft that went in our pool! Intead of using it in the pool we have now put a sheet around it and izzy sits up in it and plays with her toys. she thinks its great because she can sit up in the corner, ands its nice an soft if she falls over... I had it outside yesterday and she played in it for over an hour! it was great! I got to clean the garage abit and set up the other computer~And this morning ive put it inside on the tiles so she can watch me type and clean
but right now gotta get her to sleep... and might go for a nap my self, had a shockin headache for past three days...
Everyone hope all is well kisses n huggs
-
Well I hate to brag but my little princess has slept through for 3days in a row now (I think it's three anyway) AND she slept for 2 and 1/2 hrs today for a nap, which is the longest nap she has had in her life! And yes I think the crawling is def wearing her out - it's certainly wearing me out! We have also discovered a couple of interesting theings (1) I have stopped drinking coffee which has made her much more relaxed 2) We are trying to stop using soap in her bath - someone else posted about soap in another thread and it reminded me that we could never use soap in DS as it would make him wake up screaming at night! We had a curious kids party today - was heaps of fun, spent WAY tooo much money
Cass_blob - welcome to the clingy stage, it passes. don't let anyone tell you you have made a rod for your own back! The best way of dealing with it we found with DS is to smother them in your love. Carry them everywwhere, if they cry pick them up, play lots of peek a boo esp around corners, sing or talk loudly when you are in another room check bac often when you are out. At this stage babies don't understand that when you are out of sight that you are still there and you need to teach them to rely on different senses other than sight and within about 2 wks it will have settled a lot. If you try and force the spereation you may increase the anxiety and dreaw out the problem.
Rachel - I hope your knee is recovering! i too am struggleing with my weight, it can be really depressing, but try and keep in mind that it took 9mth to put it on AND you didn't have a newborn to deal with then! Would your hubby be willing to set aside a couple of hours each week for you to go and and exercise? I know it's tricky when they do shift work which is why I am not practicing what I'm preaching. Hope Grace's tooth come through soon.
Grr can't remember what was on the other page - hello to all will catch up soon
-
Cassblob, we are at the clingy stage as well. Claire just has to be with me. Even with DH she gets cranky! She's happy with me, then DH comes and takes her, and she gets grumpy then when I come back inot the room she reaches out to me and follows me around the room. As everyone already said, its just a phase not a rod. Even the babies at my mothers group whos parents did controlled crying have clingy babies.
Rachel, youve done so well by breastfeeding Grace for 7 months! so dont feel bad that your supply may be low. As long as she is getting something, whether its breastmilk or formula, is the main thing. Hope your knee feels better soon and its nothing serious. Hopefully the physio can fix it up.
Cass, how nice that you took Oskar to the beach. We've been wanting to go with Mothers Group, but each time we plan it, it turns out to be a crappy day and we end up just going to someones house instead, as we arent near any beach so its a fair trip.
Sarah, yay that Ari is sleeping well! You must feel like a new woman! Thats really interesting about the soap..
Well, Claires little toothy is still coming through and making her grumpy. I can feel it and its rather sharp, but luckily she is not biting me when I breastfeed her. It is the front left one, and I think the one next to it is coming through as well, but its hard to tell as she never lets me look at it. She is loving chewing on her chewy fish at the moment and has just worked out what the whole point of a rusk is. She used to just wave it around, but now she chomps on it.
She is still blowing raspberries when I feed her solid foods though, whihc makes it sooo messy. Solid food meals always require a change of clothes. I think I need to get her one of those bib suit things! I saw someone else post a thread about the same thing (blowing raspberries when eating), so it is good to know other babies do it too and its normal.
We took Claire out today, and DH took her to a cafe and had lunch while I went to the library to get some stuff for an assignment. He said that people were coming up to him talking about Claire and calling her a BOY!! I dont think she looks like a boy!? We also went grocery shopping and DH got a really strange comment from a random person asking him if I was "really truly honestly the mother of the baby".. What kind of a question is that, lol!!
DH hs been off work all week (school holidays, he is a teacher) and is going back on monday, so I'm on my own again next week! Its been so lovely to have him at home and helping out. I've been having a few sleep ins! I also just called my work the other day and told them I wont be coming back until feb, if at all. I just talked to the HR person, not my manager as theres been some restructure with redundancies, office move and now we all work for a completely different compnay (our compnay was bought by another) and we still dont have proper roles yet, so I have no idea who my manager is as no one has bothered to keep me up to date with whats going on. I think they will be pretty peeved, but there isnt much I can do about a huge shortage of child care.
Sorry for crapping on so much.
Well, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
-
Jo, I'm about 40/50 mins from the city. I'm still keen to catch up and Cass_blob is also!! Nic and Oskar will have to fight over Izzy...lol. I gave oskar first ;) hehe. Yay on starting the garden... I want to do ours but may have to wait until next spring.
Sarah... omg I am touching wood for you!! What a fantastic thing to hear! It's been a long time coming. BRAG AWAY!!!
Cass, what a great idea. It's great when you can get things done huh.
Rachel, Claire does NOT look like a boy... weird people! At what the with people asking if you're her mother... once again... WEIRDO'S! Sounds like your work is all over the place at the moment! Hope it sorts out soon.
Well, we've had a busy weekend... did a few things around the house on Saturday, or should I say Andy did and then yesterday we went up the Sunshine Coast and saw some friends we haven't seen since I was pg...lol and she's pg and due in 2 months so that was good. Then we went and saw an Endeavour display home and bought a ticket *fingers crossed*. Oskar has seriously taken off with the whole solids thing. Omg little piggy!! Not into it too much in the morning but by around 4:30-5:30pm he's having around 50 ml veg and then he's been having a WHOLE tub (100g) of baby yoghurt! Then he has booby before bed as well. I'm a little concerned about his pooing (TMI) though as he's not going every day and today seems to be having a little problem going... he's not done a proper one since about last Monday/Tuesday. He's done little smears and tiny little ones 3 times today. He hasn't been grizzly about it, but I think that this arvo he is a little bit so I bought him some pear juice and I've done the whole leg thing with him, so hoping that will help. Hmmm that's about it I think... yup ciao for now :)
-
Saram - congratulations on Ari's sleeping! I think we may have somehow managed to swap babies even tho we haven't met - Emys always been a good sleeper, but the last couple of nights she has just been feral, waking up and crying heaps, and refusing to go back in her cot, but happy to lie down with us... its very weird...
Cass, Cassie, and Jo - I might be up for a catch-up too, depending on when it is. I don't think that we are taht far away from you Cassie - we are right near the Logan Motorway...
can't remember what anyone else has said lately - sorry!
I had my first day back at work today - and it was sooooooooo sad driving away from home and seeing Jason and Emy standing there waving goodbye... and then i worked 1pm to 9:30, home at about 10pm, and so of course Emy is asleep, and I can't even give her a kiss, because of the side of the cot, and so i just have to do with giving her head a little pat. And as much as i want to give her a cuddle, I hope that she sleeps through tonigth... Anyway, I last breastfed her at about 1130 this morning, and my boobs seem to be ok, so i will see how they are in the morning. No swelling, pain or leaking here yet!!
ANyway, i'm not used to this whole working thing, so i better go to bed now - i'm exhausted...
Good night all!

Hi everyone, I am very relieved. I came on here to ask if anyone else's bubs have been EXTREMELY clingy and really sooky. Everytime I walk past Sam he calls out and makes a really irritating cranky squeal, doesn't cry just squeals! So I am glad that you guys are going thru the same thing as me. I was beginning to think that I was doing something wrong! My monday babysitter couldnt have him yesterday so I didn't work but I'm back here today cause Sam has daycare. Its terrible but I was relieved to come to work today for a break!!
Hope everyone and their bubs are well. Can I ask though, did any of your bubs have a little lump in their leg after their needles? I was playing with Sam the other day, and he has a little lump you can feel under his skin, you can't see it. His needles were about a month ago so if its not from that I don't know.....anyway we are going to see the nurse tomorrow so I will ask her.
Take care all,
Jen
-
Jen, Claire is doing the same thing as Sam! Claire did have the lump under her skin where the needle was put in, but it lasted only for a few days.
Ali, congrats on going back to work. I can imagine it would have been a bit teary to leave little Emy for so long. Good to hear that you didnt have any booby pain from not feeding. I suppose your breasts will get used to it.
Cass, its amazing how people will come up to me and say "what a cute fella, how old is he" when she is wearing ALL PINK. There are lots of old people where I live so maybe theyre colour blind or something. Woohoo for Oskar loving his solid foods! Claire is still not too keen.
Had a lovely day today - I went to DFO with my mum and my sister. I cant believe how long we were there for! Mum was soooooo excited as she just bought a car seat so we got to use it for the first time. Claire was such an angel, and she even slept in her pram for a little while. I went into Pumpkin Patch and bought her a hat as I managed to lose her other hat. I also saw a guy I was friends with like 6 - 7 years ago and havent seen since. I felt so dub standing there staring at him while trying to remember who he was and why I recognised him. I remember faces, but I just dont remember peoples names! Then the lady in the Jewellery shop wanted to keep Claire. She was scary though.
ok well enough of my rambling!
-
alli - where are you?
Hi everyone!~!~!~
cant talk getting attacked by my darling child~!
-
Hi all, turns out the lump that Sam has in his leg is a result of the needle. Kaye (our nurse) said that sometimes the muscle reacts to the needle and the lump will go away on its own. She said it doesnt happen with every needle, only some. Weird huh. Well Sam is now 10.1kg and 81cm. He's been growing 2cm a fortnight so he has slowed down to 1cm this fortnight gone. Phew! He was growing out of clothes way too quickly the way he was growing before!!
Kaye put me onto this stuff called "Teething relief". Its all natural, they are little dissolvable tablets that you put on their tongue or you can put it in their water or juice. I have given them to Sam a couple of times, just on his tongue and this stuff works wonders! Kaye said she has had a fair few mums rant and rave about the stuff so now she is recommending it to all mums with kids that are teething. It also says on the pack that you can give it to them when they are just irritable as well. It must numb the mouth and just relax them a bit. Whatever it does, it works! Its $12.95 from i assume all chemists and has about 125 tablets. The best thing is that you can give them 2 tablets every hour for 6 hours so if they are really bad you can give them something other than nurofen and panadol. Anyway, I just thought I'd share that little discovery with you all.
Hope you and your bubs are all well.
Jen

Hi all still alive have been ill with stomach bug + Ari now thinks that because she can cralw she should learn to walk so is pulling up on everything and needless to say keeps falling down and bumping herslef + I have another assignment duwe in and my computer died so have to fight DH for his.
OK gotat go hope all are well
-
Awww Ali... hugs to you hun. How were the boobs next morning?
Jen, Oskar had a lump after his 4 month needles but not this time. I saw those tablets yesterday actually and thought how do you give them to a baby! lol. I have some other stuff at the moment though and will use it before I look into more things as I have a bad habit of being a little wasteful if I see something I like better or hear is good.
Jo... can't believe Nic is 7 months TODAY!! Happy 7 month birthday Nic!!!!
Sarah, you poor love! You need a holiday seriously! How is Ari's sleeping going?
Karina, PMSL.. I'm sooooo glad I'm not the only one who stands there and stares at people! I have done that and gone is that or isn't that.. oh and what's their name if it is them?? bah! I can't even blame pg brain or baby brain on that one!
I can't believe the things Oskar is eating... stuff I think is gross... polenta and rhubarb, oatmeal, figs and sultanas... yuck yuck yuck... but he likes it! Ummmm oh toilet thing seems to be JUST FINE now!! GROSS! lol... ok, gotta run, he's woken up.
-
Hey all!
Well, i have now done my 2 day stint at work, and I didn't really enjoy it much! I have forgotten soooooooooooo much stuff! I couldn't even remember where the boiling water tap thingy from the urn was, so that i could make a cup of tea! And it's been in the same place since I started there in 2003! What an idiot...
Jason had Emy the whole time that I was at work, as he was rostered off, and he loved it. He had only ever had her on his own for about 1 1/2 hours before, so it was a bit scary for me, leaving her with him alll day long... He couldn't believe how 'time intensive' she is, but still had a ball with her - he didn't want to go back to work himself yesterday!
Anyway, I went from about 10:30 Monday morning to 8:30 Tuesday morning without breast feeding Emy, and it was ok. No swelling or pain at all. I think that it has helped that i have been slowly introducing bottles at various feeds during the day though, so that my boobs have adapted a bit...
I have to take her to the doctor soon i think - the nurse thought that she might have felt a clicky hip, and we have noticed that her left nipple is more prominent than her rightt, and it has a lump under it. We asked the nurse about it, and seh said to take her to the GP if we were worried, so i might do that.
Jen - I can't believe how big your boy is! We had Emy done this mornign, and she is 7.2kg, and 65.5cm long.
Cassie - I'm in Springfield Lakes which is right near the Ipswich end of the Logan motorway.
Everyone else - Hope you are all good.
Gotta go and unpack the shopping now.
have fun
-
Hehe - Sorry about my overly short post early! My darling daughter was pinching an biting an sucking yelling at me! I reckon i'm so going to have my handfuls when shes a toddler! You should see the tantrums she throws now! Learning of her big brother way to much!
i can't really remember wat everyone has just said! even know i have only just read it (its the blonde comming out in me lol)
Cass - yea Izzy eats some pretty gross stuff lol! But she enjoys it heaps!
Alli - oh wow i know where that is! only like 15 mins from me - if that... i'm Waterford West, take the loganlea exit of the logan motorway...
Jen - wow sam is a big boy! Izzy is just hitting the 8kilo mark!
OKay really must go been moving an cleaning and yukkky horrible domasticated activites today yuk~

Hi Everyone,
Just poping in to say hi.
Emily had gastro last week, then me, then DP, then DD#1 then my mum! Couldnt figure out where it had come from, i hadnt been anywhere only walking and the health nurse. The my SIL took her girls to the health nurse and HN said that she had been sick wit gastro the week before! Some idiot (sorry but..) had taken their kid into there to be weighed and didnt tell them it had gastro (they noticedas soon as the nappy was taken off) and it went from there - The HN said they sterlized everything but something or she must still have been carring the bug. Poor little Em - had to have the hydrolytes ONLY for 24 hrs etc. It was so hard. But shes all better now :D. Opps, and just woken.
-
photos in photo bucket of izzy swimming underwater... xoxox enjoy!

Howdy Doodies!
I think Emy is starting to get a tooth - if its not out already! She was really cranky last night and kept us awake from about 11 till about 2, and the only time she was quiet was when she was right next to one of us, but even then, if I had her in bed with me, she would not stop wiggling around. And if we tried to put her in the cot she would let out this huge scream. Finally i managed to get her to go to sleep with me on the couch, and we slept there till just after 4. It finally occured to me this afternoon that it could be a tooth, and her bottom gum feels sharp, but it hard to see anything, because she keeps sticking her tongue in the way. But she doesn't have the red cheeks, or been pulling on her ear - the only weird thing she is doing is trying to put her right ear on her shoulder every now and then...
Cassie - your photos are great!
Anyway, that is about all from me!
Take care!!
