Sheree - Briley can't feed herself with a fork or spoon really well. The other day Brent gave her a spoon and some yoghurt and she was feeding herself. Thats really the only time. We give her a fork or spoon everynight with her dinner or at lunch time but she never uses them. Unless we put something on it for her and give it to her. But then its usually flung across the room! I am just kinda letting her do things like that at her own pace. I am giving the potty training and bottle weaning a bit of a push now though. Esp now that we have Colby. How are you feeling now hun? I suppose you will have your days. Hope you are coping ok hun.
Christine - Good to hear that things are starting to look a little better with your friends DD. Fingers crossed it all keeps coming back as good news. Don't worry about personals. We all have our moments where we can't keep up with them! I do nearly every week!
Leanne - Oh no! I hope you get over that bug quickly!
Elissa - Glad that Archie ended up sleeping through for you! How's it been since then?? Do you think it could have had something to do with his teeth??? Obviously by seeing those newborns it showed you made the right decision about putting off TTC. Good way to be sure! I miss my belly. I miss feeling the baby inside me moving! I'm crazy i know!
Nat - Briley is becoming full-on too lately. We call her Cyclone Briley because of the mess she makes wherever she goes! She just walks around the house pulling stuff out of everywhere. My poor mum normally has a clean house when we get there but when we leave its a different story! I hope your not pushing yourself too hard hun. And i hope what your going through is'nt a sneak peak of what i am going to go through! I count myself lucky that i have a few others that can take the girls if i need to study or whatever. If i get it that is! I am booked in for the STAT in october. Bloody costs $98!! Is the test hard??? Wish my mum would do my ironing!!! It normally takes me a few weeks to convince myself to do mine! :redface:

Well we have 2 little chatter boxes here now. Briley is just talking so much now. It really cracks me up. And then Colby started "cooing" properly thismorning. I was sleeping beside her (she was in my bed) and i had just fed her. So i layed her down on her stomach and she just talked away while i was half asleep! It was so cute.
So the 6 week check-up went well. I sealed the deal on contracetption. Their definetely won't be any more babies until at least 5 years. I got the mirena inserted today. Ofcourse i can go and get it removed if i want to but i have'nt decided how long i want to wait until we have another one. If i get into this uni course it def won't be until i have finished it. I really think i want to wait until Briley is in school but. Colby will be 4 by then aswell. Big enough gap i think. But i also really don't want to wait that long. As sick as it sounds, i love being pregnant!
Anyways....
Colby is all good. She has put on 90g since last monday! So she is up too 5.690kgs!
I also found out that i lost 1.5L blood at deliery and not 1L. They also could'nt give me a reason why my placenta got stuck. Just that it happens. And the reason i heamorraged(sp??) to much was because the cord snapped and my cervix was still 5cm dilated which was not letting my uterus contract back down.

leanne - you poor poor thing, ther is not much worse than gastro as far as im concerned! i really hope you recover from it quickly and it doesn't spread through the house. Hope you've got some nice soft toilet paper, baby wipes are always good to have by the toilet too!
sara - oh my goodness i cant believe you mis your belly already, especially consideringthe last month or so of your pregnancy, i always thought id be exremely clucky and want lots of kids like you, wierd how things change huh?! I have just started to introduce the potty to Archie the last couple of days, he thinks its cool to sit on but only for a few seconds at a time, i sit him on it whenever he pees on the floor, hopefully he will make the connection shortly, not stressed about it though if it takes another 2 years so be it. How are you approaching toilet training?? Archie is having no problems with sleep back to his settled self thank goodness, i honestly think he was having bad dreams. How cute Colby cooing that is such a beautiful sound. I may sounds really dumb here but what exactly is a mirena and how and where does it get put in?? Tell me all about it lol! There are god pionts to a bigger gap, briley will be at school and Colby at kindy which will mean you will be able to concentrate on being pg and the next newborn during the day with no other kids running around crazily.
Dh has gone to Adelaide for his interview he will be back Wedneday night, so i am a single mum for a few days, my sister lent me her car for the next few days which was really nice of her, now Arch and i wont be stuck at home all day, cant walk anywhere atm cause of swooping maggies.
Anyone bought any books about tiolet training? I reckon i'll go to the book shop and have look at some this afternoon, might help Arch realise what the potty is for, im not in any rush for him to be toilet trained just thought i'd try it out and see what he thinks of it, got plenty of time on my hands might as well ut it to good use, might need to wash the carpets a bit more often though!

Elissa - I have been just leaving the potty in the toilet and i just say to her "pee pee's" and "poo poo's". She too sits on in but only for a few seconds. I am not pushing it too much at the moment. I just want her to understand what happens when she sits on there. Or what NEEDS to happen anyways!
The mirena is a T shaped rod kinda thing that get inserted into the opering of the uterus. It sits there and slowly releases hormones out of this plastic thingy that is also on it. Aparently it is becoming VERY common as it is now cheap enough for ppl to buy. It is only $30.80 whereas before it was $350.00! The best thing about it is you can have unprotected sex straight away and you don't get a period. I was going to get one inserted when i had Briley but they would'nt put one in cause i wanted to try for another baby within 3 years of Briley being born. They said it was more a form of long term contraception. The Dr that put it in this time could'nt believe it when i told her that! She was like "Who are they to tell you how long you can leave it in for?!?! You are paying for it!". So anyways, the way the put it in is they just do a speculum and insert it into your uterus and Walah! Oh and it lasts for 5 years.

Hope you feel better soon Leanne. Are you vomitting too? I am quite resilient to dirreha these days due to my irritable bowel, but I hate vomitting, you know I am sick when I vomit.
Elissa - we are the same re: the toilet training. Guess I was more interested to see how he would react when I was pregnant, but now that I am not, there is no rush in my eyes. We have a fischer price one that we leave in the toilet and everytime I go to the loo he comes in and he sits on it too. I wonder if it has too many gadgets like a toy though for him to really understand, but I like your concept, he pees you stil him on it!
Sara - I didn't know what one was either, you are not silly Elissa. Thanks for the explanation, sounds like a great idea. Does it hurt when they put it in?

Well she did this thing to me were she clamped/pinched my cervix. That kinda hurt. I'm not sure wether that was for the Mirena insertion or wether it was to do with the 6 week check-up. I was getting a pap-smear done at the same time so it could have been to do with that too. Not sure.
The actual insertion of the Mirena is fine. Just like a pap-swear really. You know how when they are taking swabs and you can feel it right up in there. Its like that.
The other uncomfortable thing is obviously the spec. They are half uncomfortable half painful for me. Not sure if thats what its like for you guys.

A speculum. You know those uncomfortable metal things they use to open up your vagina!!! Same thing they use when you have a pap-swear.

sara - thanks heaps for the info, i might spend tonight investigating the mirena and other types of contraception on the net (exciting night ahead!lol).
leanne - ew ew ew, hope it slows down tonight. Oh and dont flush the wipes down the toilet (i flushed them when i had the runs when pg, til mum told me not to).
Went to the park this afternoon and Archie somehow got his finger stuck in the swing then tried to get off, he was very upset, poor baby, so we went straight home, didn't get a chance to check out books.

Ok I'm about to get into some personals but before I do....
Do any of you have stairs? I am looking at a gorgeous place but it has stairs inside... fairly long and steep ones too. The bedrooms, bathroom and living area are downstairs while the kitchen, laundry and another living area are upstairs. There are also stairs at the front and back doors. Not to mention the balustrade on the upper level is only low (perhaps hip height). All of which makes me nervous. But the place is just gorgeous and suits my lifestyle so much better.... urgh decisions, decisions!
Does anyone have any advice? I have added the link to my blog if any one wants a look.

Well i have finally just settled Colby. I think we have another evening colic baby. Briley did the same thing. Colby cried from about 4.00pm this arvo till i put her on the boob where she fell asleep at 8.40pm. If i tried to take her off the boob she would scream.
Damn! She is awake again!

Nat - I personally hate upstairs downstairs but it may not be exactly what you are talking about. Our house is a mine house, open underneath (not enclosed). I hate coming up and down the stairs with groceries with an active toddler. I hate going downstairs at night to put the washing on and never know when it is finished. We have asked to move to a lowset, then Lachlan can go out and play in the yard all the time, as he loves it outside, at the moment we have gates on the top of the stairs and he hates being so restricted. I particularly don't want to be in this house with another baby, way too hard.....
