I agree with using correct body parts names like u said Sarah! But, still sounds weird when my 8yr old says penis or vagina!!!
 you girls are funny! Never really thought about it - we call Izzys vagina her foofie - probably should rethink that... ;)
Yeah I prefer the proper name after reading that if a molester gets told by the child to stop touching my penis/ vagina that it will make the molester stop because it makes them uncomfortable.
Just been out watching the local footy final and about to go to the pub :S then to a friends bbq. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!
Good morning mums and bubs,
Hope everyone had an amazing weekend like we did. We did nothing exciting but we had a family weekend and I loved it. We had no commitments so we bummed out, played with Livvy together and went walking and visited some friends. It was really good, well fantastic to do nothing but be a family.
On Friday night I last it again . I had a huge episode because I was starting to feel like a nanny and a maid than myself because I had no me time and did all the housework. It was my fault that it got this bad because I wouldn't let Dave help me with anything because I was the stay at home mum ho's job it was to take care of looking after Livvy, the housework and cooking so Dave could rest when he got home from work. Dave and I had a really good talk and now we have divided everything up and we each get time off because we were both feeling incredible overwhelmed. So now we have divided up the cooking, cleaning and each have a sleep in and an afternoon off each week. My time is a little interupted due to b/f but after one weekend it seemed to work really well. We'll see what the week brings.
Well I'm so sick of Livvy not sleeping through. I'm so tired! I've tried clustering her feeds at night and then when she cries overnight going into her room and giving her her dummy and not touching or talking to her. I've tried to let her grizzle for a little while, tried giving her a small quick feed and straight back to bed. I can't get her sleep. Any help/suggestions/tips or is it just a case where I have to ride it out and she will sort it out herself when she is ready?
Lastly I've also joined a weight loss support group on here to try and sort out my tubby, lazy a$$. I want to lose at least 6kg (max 10kg) or go to dress size 10-12. Which ever lets me wear nice clothes that are the same size top and bottom. I suffer from the dreaded pear shape body.
That is more than enough about me/us.
We've all been really quiet so I don't have many personals to catch up on.
Sarah - That is a great tip about calling their rudies the correct name to make pedophiles uncomfortable. I will have to start calling it her vagina instead of her rudie nudie. Was you BBQ good? What footy did you watch, just local game?
Ash - You sound so amazingly well in your post. It is fantastic to hear. How you feeling? Is Blake being a good boy for you?
Michelle - Good to hear that you are all feeling and that everyone is over the bugs going through. How is your little man sleeping? Getting better?
Lulu - I'm not sure if Livvy is teething or her teeth just moving around and giving her grief. She is going through fazes of chewing her fingers red raw, rosy cheeks and excessive dribble one day and then the next she will be okay. I can't feel any coming through but I'm sure they are moving around on her. At least she is now old enough for bonjela. How are you feeling? It is so weird to see your pg ticker again. Izzy is going to be a great big sister.
Tan - How is that gorgeous girl of yours going? Have you managed to get her back to her 11 hour sleeps overnight?
Danni - Sending you and your family the biggest hugs during this terrible time. I'm so sorry that you have lost your pop. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hayley - Not sure if I've welcomed you or not so just in case HI and welcome to BB. You quickly get addicted to this place because the women on here are so amazing and it is soooo supportive. How is your little man going?
To everyone else hi and hope that you are having a great time being a mum and your bubba is being good.
Catch again real soon,
Luv Dan.
Sarah - funny!! I haven't even thought about what names we're going to use yet - but I do like the idea of her knowing the correct names. My mum always used to call it a 'front bottom' and a 'back bottom'... um... but there are three holes?! Then again, try explaining that to them when they're young...!
I just cringe at the idea of Mia yelling out in a shopping centre one day... "MUUUUUUUUUM, my vagina needs to wee!"
Dan - sounds like you had an amazing weekend!! Look at little Livvy in your ticker... SO CUTE!! As for the sleeping through - I'm not sure if my routine will help, but the idea is to try and get all of Mia's feeds in (4 of them) between 7am and 7pm. The only other feed we give her is at 10/10:30pm which we wake her for, change her nappy, feed her and then put her straight back into bed again. She's been sleeping from 7-7 (with the 1 night feed) from 7 weeks this way. I might drop the night feed when she starts solids in a couple of months... not sure if I'm brave enough yet!!
Been meaning to tell you, Mia now has a 100% success rate with taking her bottles now!! YAYAYAYA!! She has a bit of trouble getting started (we have to walk cradling her with the bottle near her mouth before she catches onto the idea and latches on) but once she's right, she usually finished the whole thing (we only give her 50ml to practice with). SO HAPPY!! Tan - persistence will PAY OFF!! It's a PITA but after 4 weeks of trying every day and almost every feed... we got there!!!
Mia also had her 4 month check-up today! She's HUGE (in length!) She's 64cm (90th percentile), 6.3kg (50th) and HC is 41 (50th) - she's gonna be a tall chicky!!
Kristen - that's a gorgeous new photo of Mia in your ticket. Yay on the bottle feeding. I love the idea of all feeds being between 7am and 7pm, but Izzy is such a wilful little princess that if she doesn't want to eat she simply doesn't. Its such a pain.
Sarah - I agree bubbies need to know the proper names for things and that's a very, very good point you make about pedophiles. That sort of thing terrifies me. I'm already worrying about someone snatching Izzy when she's out playing in the garden in a couple of years time.
Dan - good on you for dividing up jobs. I thought the same as you did at first - my job is the house and the baby, while DH works all day so when he comes home (walks down the stairs!!!) his day should be over and he should be allowed to relax. I then had a friend tell me that she and her DH (who is a pretty high level trial lawyer) took alternate nights for 12 months (!!!!) sitting up all night cos their very refluxy baby couldn't lie down. Her view (which I agree with now) is that she works just as hard if not harder than DH does during the day, so when he gets home they share everything. It made a lot of sense to me so we now take turns of getting up for Izzy during the night, early morning etc. Soooooo much easier.
Hi to everyone else. Sorry - pathetic personals. My folks have been up all day and only just gone home so I have to get Izzy bathed, fed (ha ha) and into bed so I can start dinner! Hope you're all well though and your bubbies are beautiful, peaceful, sleepy babies by this stage of the day.
Righteo – big catch up here!!
Lulu – How ware feeling hun?? Have the headaches and ms eased up at all? I love your ticker of Izzy – so cute with her hoodie on! It’s so hard not to worry about our bubbies hey, I really have to stop myself from thinking of all the bad things that could happen and just focus on the good! That’s great that you and DH can take turns with getting up in the night, I make Al get up on the weekend even though he would love to have a sleep in but my argument is that I don’t get one so neither does he! :P Actually I do let him sleep in on a Sunday or I will bring her to bed with us after her early morning feed!
Kristen – whoo hoo for gorgeous Mia and her bottle! That’s great new hun! I have been slack while I’ve been sick and haven’t tried again. Will pick it up again next week I think once we are all back to normal and I hope persistence will work here too! May Melbourne Mummies Meet this Saturday if you can make it!! Details further down! at "mmuuuuummmm ..." – I have nightmares of all sorts of inappropriate things she hears now that she might one day repeat!! I can’t wait til Monday to find out how big my boofa is!! She was 60cms and 6kgs at her last appointments- so should be interesting!
Dan – how are you going hunny?? How is Livvys sleeping at night going? Any progress? I know what you mean about the teeth – Izzy is exactly the same, her poor little fists are rubbed red raw from chewing on them all day, and her cheeks go through phases of being bright red, but I can’t feel anything coming through? Makes me wonder if they sort of move underneath too. No 11 hour stretches here for the last 3 weeks hun, we have been all out of sorts with anywhere from 1-3 feeds a night. I’m glad she just feeds and goes straight to back to sleep. Don’t want to speak too soon though –but last night she stirred at around 1 but fell back to sleep and then woke at 5 so that was 10 hours – but god knows if it was just a fluke. I would say yes! Will let you know tomorrow!
Big  to you and I really hope you are ok- can you make it to Melbourne on Saturday by any chance??!!
Sarah – I never thought about pedophiles, makes me want to go and hug my girl close but it’s a really good point. How did you go with the printers for your designs! Seeing as we are chatting now on msn I will just say – see you Saturday!!
Michelle- yay for rolling! They look so cute don’t they! Izzy gets from her back to her side and then her arm gets in the way so she can’t go any further! How are you going anyway? Hope you are doing well!
Ash – How are you hun? How is the PND?? Are your meds working ok for you? M sure it has been very tough through the last week and I hope you are doing ok and remember if you need to spill we are all here! Love your ticker pic – so adorable!
Danni- how are you going hun? Have you had the funeral yet? I know I posted before but I’m so sorry for your loss.
Are you still waiting for sleep schools- is Mason still not co-operating there? to you too hunny. Hope you can make it Saturday!!
Kelly – How are you going hun? How is the formula feeding going- any luck settling your gorgeous boy? I hope you managed to fend off the mastitis while you wean him off the booby. Have you had your paed appointment yet?? A million questions sorry – just want to make sure you are ok and would love to hear from you! I said it before but that is a gorgeous pic and I'm jealous that you can hang washing outdoors – we nearly can here in unpredictable ol Melbourne!!
Hayley – how is Corey going! Hope we aren’t overwhelming you!
Aniejade – haven’t heard from you for a while – hope you are well!
Sez – how you doing girly!! You should come on Saturday!
:hello: everyone I’ve missed and huge :hugs: to you and your gorgeous getting to be so big bubbies!!
I’m good- I think I’m finally over this cold although I’ve kind of lost my voice now! Izzy has settled down a bit although feeds at night are still pretty erratic! Going to lunch with a fried who has a 10 week old tomorrow- MG on Thursday and immunisations and shopping on Friday – busy week! C/S girls - are you still having any pain? I still get pain from time to time in my c/s site- I guess its only normal and I really dont take it easy at all now so I must pull muscles there all the time!

Sorry, too slack to do personals tonight, Noah has not been a good night sleeper from the beginning but it was looking promising with 2 feeds a night and the occasional 1 but now we are back up to 5 a night again. I look forward to meeting up with whoever makes it on Saturday!!! Will try to do personals before then!
sorry guys we have to go away for Pops funeral on Friday morning and probably wont be back until sunday :( BUGGER!!!
Thwe weather is gunna be nice tooo :( oh well, definitely next time!
i am finally booked into sleep school. I am on the standby list for every coming monday but she assures me I will be in within 4 weeks!
BUTTTTTTTTT, mason has slept MUCH better in the past 2 nights so i dunno what to do. he is waking around 2 for a feed, then 6. So technically thats only waking once during the "night".
love yas xx
Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone is well! am so glad the weathr is warming up, might keep some of those sniffles away that we seem to constantly have!! All my kids have a really nasty cough atm, and can't seem to shake it. But at least it isn't really worrying them, and Angus is as happy as ever! We have our 4mth check next week with the child health nurse, so will see how my big boy is growing! haven't had his wt and stuff done for about a month - I am so slack!
dan - no, Angus and his sleeping is actually getting worse! He is still getting up at least twice to feed during the night, but I know it is for comfort cause he only feeds 5 mins and is back asleep. But I have tried leaving him, dummy, patting him back to sleep, but he just screams till I feed him. I just give in beacuse I can't stand him crying and plus he wakes up the whole house!! Any ideas anyone!! I am trying to lose some baby weight also. Got dh a home gym for fathers day so I have been using it too! I find it really hard to eat healthy, I am blaming BF cause i am sooo hungry all the time!!! I eat everything and anything!
Lulu, how are you feeling?? Hope the MS is not too bad!
Sarah, how cute is Noah sucking his thumb!! I can't believe he feeds 5 times a night! I feel bad for complaining about 2 feeds a night. Must be naughty boy syndrome I think, my girls slept throguh from 6 weeks!
danni, sorry to hear about your pop. Hope you get into sleep school soon and sort out Mason (see it is all the boys!)
Tan - Angus only rolls when he feels like it! He hates being on his belly so when he gets there he cries!! He cant go from front to back yet, only back to front, even then he does get stuck sometimes because of his heavy fat bumb!
Hi to everyone else!! Hope you all have a great get together on the weekend!! Don't forget to take photos!!
Take Care!
*Michelle*
Hello!!
Sorry, I'm not even going to attempt to catch up with everything but just wanted to pop in and let you know how we're going - thanks for checking up on me Tan!! Luke's feeding is still a real problem for us, he's almost totally refusing the boob now and the last two days have been terrible. He's been refusing to feed, to the point that I had to express milk on the spot and feed it to him in the bottle - which he took!! Cheeky monkey. We've now given him formula twice and he absolutely LOVES it, so I think we're going to have to go down that track. I'm still trying to hold out until I see the paed again - which has been moved back to next Tuesday now, so we'll see how we go. He's been getting really unsettled lately too and having some pretty good screaming episodes, I think it's because he's so hungry but refused to feed from me. Funnily enough, its still the right boob thats worse - he'll take the left sometimes but the right only very rarely. In two days, he's taken the right boob once (at his 2am feed this morning). Even funnier though, I expressed milk just from the right boob yesterday afternoon and he wouldn't even take it in the bottle. I'm starting to think that the right boob's milk is tasting different or something isn't quite right with it - because 10 minutes after refusing the right boob's ebm, he took formula!! I just don't know what's going on but have accepted the fact that breastfeeding is just not working for us, so we'll move forward. I've still got lots of ebm that I'll use up and talk to the paed about formula!
Anyway, Luke is on my lap and he's getting a little wriggly now. He's also decided he doesn't like going to sleep, so it's been a real challenge getting him to go down - again strange for him but we're getting there!! I'm just so tired all the time.
DH and I went out for dinner last night though, which was nice - it was our 3 year wedding anniversary!!
Better go. Hope everyone is well.
Kelly xxx
Kelly, I hope evrything works out for you. Am thinking of you - babies are funny little things to work out hey. All the best!
kelly...you are so strong!
I tried giving Mason 4 different types of formula at night to try and help him sleep better and he HATED all of them and refused to swallow!
You are so kucky !
Good on you for persevering Kelly. Weird about having a side preference even when you've expressed!!! Still, I've heard some weird things about what our BBs do when lactating so nothing would surprise me.
Sorry but a quick one from me. Izzy's not a happy girl - definitely teething - she has two teeny tiny little teeth coming through on her bottom gum. Poor little chicken.
ooohh izzy might be the first one with teeth!
I have thought so many times that Mason must be teething but have never seen or felt anything.
Actually, I never want him to have teeth unless I have finished feeding him LOL!
Poor bubby now has a cold. Very snotty nose and coughing, even in his sleep :( The little naughty thing wont let me wipe!
