Happy birthday kelly!
Tan: come on msn! I messaged you this morning about meeting up at the expo and got no reply? I was there! I was also disappointed. last year was heaps better
Hey everyone!!
Just a very quick one from me. I am organising a Melbourne catch up for those who are interested. After being inspired by my gorgeous picnic in Williamstown with my g/f the other weekend, and with this beautiful weather, I want to organise another one!
So, let me know if you're interested and want to come! So far we have Tan and I.... so who else?
Date: Monday 5 November 2007
Time: 12 noon
Location: Williamstown - the park near the water in the centre of town. We will meet on the grass near the big rotunda.
If you don't have my email let me know. Once we know who is coming, we'll alocate picnic food between us and have a lovely picnic lunch to share with everyone! :D
xx
ill be there!
Sorry to crash - just wanted to see how Sez and Kelly were going and i couldn't work out how to send a personal message i am a bit useless! Happy 30th Kelly! I hope you and your bubs are going great!!
Happy birthday Kelly! I hope you've had a great day and get very spoilt. Are you doing anything special?
Otherwise . . .
I WANNA COME TO THE MELBOURNE CATCH UP!!!!!!!!!!! Poo that we live so far away.
Hello!!
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes - we've had a lovely day!!! It started at 6am though, with Luke and I having a lovely cuddle in bed. Then I got my pressie - a gorgeous necklace and pendant that DH picked for me. Its beautiful!! And a lovely card that nearly made me cry!!! I love DH sooo much, it was really special!! Then, DH took Luke and I to breakfast by the river, which was wonderful. After that, I met up with my SIL and MIL for a walk through some gardens in Peppermint Grove (a very prestigious suburb) - it was a fundraising thing and was quite nice - Luke was fantastic and slept in his pram most of the time. Now, I'm just sitting back - I figure I don't have to do any housework today, it can all wait!!!
Megan - So great to hear from you!!! I hope all is wonderfully well. Will try and send you a personal message, then all you have to do is reply to it!!!
Big hello's to everyone else and hope you're all having a lovely day!!

Ooh I should have paid more attention to the post above me...!! Idiot!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your welcomes! It is going to be great chatting to you all!
I had a terrible night with Ella last night. She has come down with a cold (i think she caught it off her daddy). She had a temperature and was quite unsettled. She woke at 2am and I couldn't get her back to sleep until 4. Feel very tired today! She seems a lot better today but I can't help worrying. It is awful when babies get sick!
kelly you sound like you had a fantastic birthday! I love being spoiled!!
Lee; I got my nappy bag from a place called Baby to kids. I don't know if you have that shop (i am in Tas). Anyway the bag folds out to be a change map and it has heaps of storage space also. It is really useful if you are out and about a lot!
Have a good weekend girls! It is my sisters birthday today so I am going to visit her now.
Jane - welcome to our little family. Sorry to hear Ella's not well. Its awful isn't it. I hope she gets over her cold quickly and you both get some rest today.
Lee - my nappy bag is a Basque one I got from my Myer. I was actually looking for a nice, big handbag that I could use as a nappy bag. Picked up this bag thinking it was great with all the pockets, and then realised it was actually a proper nappy bag. I love it.
Tan - sorry you didn't get into the sleep school you were after. Hopefully Izzy will turn a corner soon and you won't need any help. Otherwise, can this woman come to see you say only once and take it from there?
Kelly - sounds like you had a lovely birthdlay - lucky girl.
Things are a bit disappointing here. After 5 days of Izzy being on a combination of soy and "normal" formula her reflux, the normal one obviously built up to the point where it really aggravated her reflux again. Poor bubby was back to screaming pain. So, she's back on full soy again and fortunately the reflux has settled down already. I'm so disappointed. It started really well and I was hopeful that her little body had got strong enough to deal with it. Its certainly going to make introducing solids a little interesting. Her teeth are giving her hell at the moment too so the poor little poppet is really in the wars. She's so incredibly good natured with it all though. My mum was up the other day and saying (not that she's a biased granny or anything!!) what a brilliant baby she is. Of course, then went on to say that if you get one great baby your next one is usually a monster - nice comforting words from my mum!! Otherwise Izzy has just had a measuring day and at 5.5 months she was 6.48kgs and 66.5cm long - light but long for her age. She certainly doesn't get long legs from her mummy!!
Hope everyone's having a great weekend.
Sorry for the selfish post - I've got soo much to get done while Luke is asleep!!!
Just wanted to quickly pop on because DH and I are going to a concert tonight and we're leaving Luke with my MIL!! I'm really nervous about it!! Luke doesn't really see my MIL much, he's with my Mum all the time and I leave him with my Mum no problem at all but I'm just nervous about tonight. Plus, to make it worse, the concert starts at 5.30pm - so it's the most difficult part of the night for Luke!!! Don't get me wrong, my MIL is pretty good (most of the time) - she looks after my nephew (who's two weeks older than Luke) all the time, so I don't really know why I'm so nervous about it. I guess its normal.
Anyway just had to get that off my chest. I'm already nervous now, how am I going to cope when we have to walk out the door!!! Damn it - my Mum is away atm, so we didn't have any other choice!!! If it was a bit later, we'd be fine coz its quite easy to just do the last feed and get him to bed, it's the two hours before that happens that are a bit touch and go!!!
Oh well, such is life and I'll just have to cope. Hope everyone is well - Luke's back to his '2am wake-up for a feed' - actually last night it was more like 1.30am. I tried to settle him for an hour and then gave up and fed him!!! Not to worry.
Take care.

Kelly, first of all, have a really good night!
Luke will be just fine, please try not to stress. I know how you feel though, I left Nicholas with my MIL yesterday afternoon. I love my MIL, but she doesn't see Nicky nearly as much as my mum does, and well, she's just not my mum! My mum was available, but I also need him looked after next weekend, and I thought I should share it around a bit. I think MIL was starting to think that I didn't trust Nicky with her, even though I've left him with her and FIL before. So I thought I'd better just get over it and leave them together!
Once I leave I'm fine, but before I leave I like to give all the *instructions*, and while my mum is really good about that, my MIL doesn't really listen. She has raised three children and helped with five other grankids, so I'm sure she copes fine LOL. They had a lovely time, and I'm really glad I did it. I'm sure you will be too :)
:clap:HAPPY 6 MONTHS TO BLAKEY!!!!
As a bonus, he cut his first toothy peg today, hooray! I think we'll see the one beside it tomorrow. Fingers crossed, after 6 weeks or so of teething it's about bl00ody time!
Happy 6-months Blakey! Holy wow, bet thats caught up on you! Khai is 5months today :) So Blake's exactly a month older :)
Everyone needs to stop posting so quickly! I can't believe i've missed the new thread AGAIN! Lol, i just read all the posts since my last one, got to the last page and it said 'closed'.
Khai still has all the signs of teething...but not teeth :( I can't see any coming through. So hmmm. Hopefully the poor bubba has one soon.
I was wrapping chrissy pressies yesterday and Khai kept scrunching up all the paper! lol. So i moved him away (on the floor), but somehow he dragged himself back over. He's not crawling yet, not really anything close to it...just kind of wriggles around until he moves a little bit.
Is anyones bubs still not sleeping through?? Khai did for 3 nights in a row the other week...but now he's back to waking twice a night :( Sigh. I thought he should be sleeping through by now.
Oh, another q, how much formula (for those formula feeding mums) does your bub have at a time? Khai is still only on 150mls every 4hours...but i think i should raise it...don't know.
Oh, a massive thanks to those who voted for Khai :) Hes made finals. Lol, his 'popped' pic looks a little funny...but still cute :)
Hope to chat to you all soon.
P.S - Anyone from QLD?? If so...where abouts? I'm in Rockhampton...
Steph-I'm in QLD, on the Southside of Brissy :) I FF and Blake is on 150mL every 3-4 hours, sometimes 200 but that's rare, he just won't take it. If he will take more, I say go ahead and give it a go, but if not, don't force it on him, or he'll probably projectile vomit all over you lol Happy 5 months to Khai, was he born May 21? Blake isn't sleeping through, in fact he's been up at least 3 times a night for about 4 weeks due to teething, driving me insane. Hopefuly now since one has popped up, we get some sleep!
Hi to everyone, promise to keep up (how many times have I said this? lol)
yay for blakeys first tooth! Masons are still teasing us too...but nothing yet!
It was 35 here today and its still so hot. Poor Mason doesnt know what to do. I tried to put him to bed unwrapped bu he woke straight away.
He has been up so many times through the nights lately and we have to pick him up and sleep with him. I hate it. I cant handle it anymore.
I am ringing sleep school tomorrow and begging to get in this week.
Basically we tried for 2 hours last night to resettle him in the cot and there was no chance. As soon as i picked him up his eyes closed.
So scared about tomorrow as DH is back at work. I hate sunday nights as i get so anxious and worked up :(
hope everyone has a good night xx
Hang in there ladies our babies can't keep doing this to us forever. God I hope they can't.
I was popping on today to catch up with all my personals since I've been so incredibly slack but I am absolutely fuming with DH so I'm off to bed before I completely lose it and throttle him.
Pop on tomorrow and catch up,
Sending heaps and heaps of sleep vibes to our babies,
Luv Dan.
aniejade - Ethyn is on formula, he's on about 240mls 4 times per day then about 260mls for his last bottle. He feeds 4 hourly during the day and sleeps thru the night. If he seems happy with what you are giving him and he's putting on weight, you could leave it, or just increase it by maybe 10mls at a time, but like Ashlee said, if he doesn't want it don't force it on him or you will wear it!!
Ashlee - Yay for Blake getting his first tooth!!!! I think Ethyn has been teething for about a month or so. My nephew got his first tooth at 3 months!
We went to a wedding yesterday, I left Ethyn with a good friend. It was the first time I had been out and left him with someone. I had a great night!!! Really let my hair down, had way too much to drink, but haven't had a night like that in over 12 months, so it probably affected me more than it should have!!! But one good thing, no hangover this morning.
Does anyone else have a bubba that moves around the cot? When I put Ethyn to bed during the day, he ends up down the other end with arms and legs hanging out of the cot!!! He's not too bad now at night time as he sleeps in his grobag and I tuck him in under the mattress, although during the day when I wrap him I tuck the excess sheet under the mattress but he still manages to move around!!
Hi to everyone else!! Hope bubs are being good :)
Thanks Aslee and Lee. He does seem pretty happy with the 150mls...and id say he's still putting on weight nicely (havent had him wieghed for nearly a month tho...). He definatly doesnt' look hungry! lol. But i was just wondering, because most bubs i know his age are up to 240mls a feed...which is alot more than Khai! But if Blakes still on 150mls then i don't feel as worried :)
Dan - Lol, did you end up throttling DH? I know exactly how it can get...DP has copped his fair share of 'right hooks'. Lol :P
Lee - Khai always ends up all over the cot. He's in a different place every time i check on him! lol. He hates being wrapped tho, so it has been a while since he was. But he must be rolling around and getting himself back to sleep tho, because i never have to re-settle him of a night time, just feed him if he wakes. Haha, good to hear you had a goodnight :) I went out Saturday night after the races...DS was with MIL. God, what a night! But i sure had a MASSIVE hangover the next day...for the whole day!
Any bubs commando crawling yet? Khai's not...i was just wondering if there were any speedy developers. Or anyone's sitting up alone yet?
Danni-Ugh 35, yuk! My mum flew down yesterday, and she loves the hot so I bet she's pleased! I really really hope you can get into sleep school, but chances are he is teething and things will look up eventually. I'm in the same boat so I hear ya sista! I have a fear of Sunday night too, glad I'm not the only one!
Dan-Hope you gave it to him good, can't wait to hear what he did.
Lee-I thought Blake was teething at 3 months but I was wrong - he started at 4.5 instead arggghh!! Blake ends up all over the cot aswell, sometimes half out, sometimes up the other end lol
Steph-Blake is getting up on all fours, but he doesn't lift his head, so he sorta drags himself around lol Blake sat up unassisted for the first time for about 10 mins on Tuesday, I'll have to get some pics up. He is no where near doing it full time, but everything is a process.
Best run, he is chucking a wobbly in his highchair!
grrrr mason wouldnt stop coughing this morning and he spewed about a litre of milk all over my couch. (no joke-- it covered me, him and the whole armchair).
Fancy us BOTH taking a bath together at 5:45am!!!
Oooh Danni a cool bath at 545 would have been great - how friggin hot was it last night - ridiculous and back down to 19 tomorrow - damn melbourne weather. Hope he better for you today - might be a bit cooler hopefully.
Geez Im a potty mouth today - its because i know I have a pile of houework waiting for me!!
Ash - yay for Blakey sitting up - whoo hoo!! The one reason I cant wait for that is bath time! Haha my back is about to give out!
Steph - Iz isnt commando crawling yet but she gets up on her knees alot when on her tummy so I guess movement isnt too far away!!! Congrats for Khai getting to the finals too hun!! Thats fantastic!!
Lee- I didnt put Iz in her grobag the other day and I woke up to he upside down in her cot - head down where feet were meant to be :cryinglaugh: she hasnt done it again - so it will interesting if she can do it in her grobag. I think she will be a mover and shaker though so as the weather gets warmer like last night Im not even going to bother with sheets and blankets - just the grobag!
Dan - Hope you are ok hun - I went to bed not talking to DH last night AND I dont think he even noticed - pppfft men, honestly. Let us know if you need a chat/vent/stick ;)
Hi to everyone else!! Well we had our first 9 hour stint in months last night 630-4 whoo hoo- is more that likely a one off but thats all I need to catch up on my sleep!! Plus she has either self settled or fallen asleep with patting during her day sleeps a few times too - so we are getting there albeit VERY slowly!! Kelly Im like you - I cant sleep properly even when she does - I did a weird panicked sleep walk around the house last night- not sure why but I suspect I was looking for Izzy before I woke up, turned off the tv in the lounge and left Al on the couch to sleep!! (Yep still cross here too!)
Hope you all have a great day - will check in later!
Hello!!
Wow, everyone's been really chatty!!! Well, I must say the night out was a complete success!! I knew I was worried for nothing. We left at 5pm and Luke was still asleep. I didn't like that he would be waking up to find us gone!! Anyway it didn't seem to bother him - he had a great time with Grandma. I called to check on him once at about 8pm and he'd just gone to bed. I hated checking up but all the same, it made me feel much better and I really enjoyed the concert. We went and saw Sarah Blasko - she's just increcible. The most amazing voice I've ever heard!!! It was an outside concert on the grass and unlike all of you in Melbourne, it was FREEZING!!!! I haven't been that cold in along time and we had blankets. There were so many people there with nothing, I don't know how they survived!!!
Sooo... we got home at about 10.30pm and got to bed at about 11.15pm, so I was expecting a bad night. Luke woke at 3am and I just went in, stroked his head, gave him a kiss and put the dummy back in and low and behold, he went back to sleep and woke at 5.30am!!! I ended up putting him in bed with us at 5.45am and we slept until about 6.20am. Then I got up and fed him!! That's probably our best night ever!! It always happens when I can't make the most of it. He's just sooo up and down. One good night then heaps of bad ones!!
Danni - Big hugs honey - you're going through such a rough time right now. I hope you manage to get into sleep school a bit sooner. Take care.
Tan - Yay for such a great night - lets hope it continues this time!!!
Ash - Wow, good work Blake getting his first tooth at exactly 6 months!!!
Steph - Luke is such a piggy, I offer him 250ml each feed and he usually takes most of it. I'm feeding him every three hours during the day to try and cut out his night feed (at 2am) - seems to be working a little. So he's actually taking about 5 feeds of 200ml. Sometimes he'll polish off a whole bottle though and others he'll only take half. It's very up and down. I just offer the whole lot and let him go for it!!
Lee - Luke's not moving around too much yet, particularly in the cot. He'll move around the floor a fair bit but in bed, he's really good and just stays put!! We'll see how long that continues for!!
Dan - Hope everything is ok honey - don't you just love it when they don't even notice that they're in the bad books!!
Sez - So great to hear from you - how is Nicky going???
Well, we've got the plumbers here this morning finally doing some work on our bathroom - its been a work in progress for well over a year!! Luckily we have another bathroom but it doesn't have a bath and I'm desperate to get Luke out of the laundry tub!!! They're soo noisy though but thankfully Luke is sleeping through it all, so far!! The bathroom is right next to his room, so I've had to put him down on the spare bed at the other end of the house. Luckily he doesn't move around too much and should be fine. I just hope the noise doesn't wake him!! Better go check how he's going!!
Kelly xxx
Rightio, Olivia is asleep (who knows for how long ) so I thought I would take advantage and finally catch up with everyone (this post turned out huge so I’ll split it up).
Danni – I really really hope that you are able to get into sleep school because it really sound like you guys need it. I have the most awful mental picture of having to have a bath at that time. The last bloody thing you’d want to be doing, poor bugger. Did you end up speaking to someone else about meds to help you through this rough time?
Tan – So you and Al not talking either, hey? Need to vent? Thanks for your offer of a stick. It put a smile on my face and gave me a giggle. I can’t remember where or when you asked about rudie time but at spotlight they have some material that is waterproof and padded so you could buy a little bit of that and just wipe down any accidents. YAY on Izzy for giving you some much needed sleep. You always feel better after some sleep. Any progress on getting into sleep school or having the lady come to you?
Kelly – Go Luke, you good little man. So glad that your night out was such a success and topped off with a good night sleep. Don’t worry about calling to check on luke. I always do because I find I can relax if I know she is ok. If you hadn’t you probably wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the concert like you did. You are a much better woman than me. I don’t think I could have gone a year without a bath and Luke isn’t going to know himself when he gets in a big bath. He’s going to go crazy splashing around. How long til your bathroom will be finished?
Lulu – Go Izzy on her first toofy peg but sorry that her reflux has flared again. Hopefuly you can get it sorted out. Fantastic news that Ned was bouncing around with a good heartbeat. Your m/s settling down?
Ash – Happy 6 months Blake and congratulations on your first toofy peg. I cant believe he sat up unsupported and is getting all the floor. Livvy sits but needs to be touching some part of me for balance. He is progressing so quickly, amazing isn’t it. You are going to have a mobile little man before you know it. His photos are just gorgeous.
Anie – Congratulations on Khai making the finals. I’ll make sure I vote for him after I’m finished this marathon post.
Sarah – So sorry to hear that you are going through a rough patch at the moment. Please don’t forget that we are here for you if you need us and fingers crossed things will start to look up for you all soon. Sending you heaps of hugs.
Kirsten – I love the name you are thinking for your photography business. It’s gorgeous. How’s that girl of yours?
First bub – Welcome to our little group and looking forward to getting to know you. Hope Ella is feeling better and you are getting some sleep.
Lee – Welcome to our little group too. Isn’t it so cute how they are moving around their cots. Overnight Livvy doesn’t move but during the day it’s always a surprise how she will be laying when I go in there. She isn’t sitting alone or commando crawling. She wiggles around the floor a lot but that’s it. She is starting to get frustrated so I think she will start soon.
Hayley – I take my hat off to you raising your son by yourself. It’s so hard doing it with a partner let alone just you. Is your family close by to help you out?
I think that’s it but a huge hi to anyone I may have missed and that’s the end of part 1. LOL!!!
Okay part 2 (the selfish post LOL)
It is stinking hot here and not even cooling down overnight and poor Livvy is really struggling. She is stripped down to her singlet and a nappy and I have the a/c burling to try and help keep her cool while she adjusts. She is feeding every 2 1/2 - 3 hours during the day and I bought her her first tumbler which I fill with water for her to play with and drink out of in between feeds. She has gotten the hang of the sipper really quickly but it is taking alot longer for her to get used to water but she'll get there. She is eating food twice a day and her poos are so gross and smelly now. It is a classic watching Dave change them. LOL!! I just can’t believe how quickly my little girl is growing up. She is into absolutely everything she can get her hands on, squealing, giggling and chatting away her days. I absolutely love the sounds of our home, nothing beats it. Her teeth are giving her a lot of trouble like all our bubba’s at the moment so I’m just hanging in there and waiting for them to pop through.
I didn't end up throttling DH last night must admit I came pretty close to asking you for that stick Tan. LOL!! But huge huge vent time, feel free to skip over it ;).
After I lost my cool a few weeks ago we set out a time table where I can get some me time so Sunday afternoon is supposed to this time where I can do anything I like until tea time. Well for the last three weeks I haven’t had it so I put my foot down and said I’m taking it today, “No probs sweetpea”. So I went and had a lay down (4.30am start on Sunday) so he had the TV and Xbox blaring so I couldn’t sleep and he couldn’t hear Olivia and of course he didn’t have her monitor either. She was crying in her bed and I yelled out to him that she was awake and crying. 5 minutes later I got up and got my hysterical little girl out of bed. He couldn’t because he was in the middle of a joint game of Xbox with friends on line (each game goes for about 30mins) with his earphone on talking to his online mates and he couldn’t hear how upset she was. Well maybe if he turned down the TV and took off his headset he could!!! I asked him after he finished the game please don’t start another one because after her feed he was hers. Well he started another game and told me to put her on the floor for a minute. Fine, 15 minutes later she was screaming and wanting to be entertained so what did he do but her on his lap and kept playing. I played with her then she went down for a sleep and I finally got 45mins of my time. Same thing happened when she woke up again!! So I got her up fed her, changed her where she managed to poo all over her, me and her change table so I ask DH to get me some clothes as I was COVERED in poo so what did he do, that’s right told me to hang on a minute because he couldn’t stop playing and let down his team. OH MY GOD!!! After I sorted everything out Olivia and I went out visiting so I could cool down. When I got home he was still playing so I gave Olivia her vegies, bath and cooked our dinner while he played. By his time I lost it and told him to get the f**k off the Xbox and f**king help me (all of his mates heard). He then progressed to yell at me for being so rude and selfish because all he wanted was a little time off to play Xbox and I really did need to let him because he really needs it. Yes he works all day but so do I and we both are busy of an evening feeding us and sorting out Livvy but he has cricket training Tuesday and Thursday night and then plays all day into the evening on Saturday and has a sleep in Sunday morning because he’s so tired from his week. WTF!!!!!! So when the f**k is my time off???? Apparently, my hour laying on the bed was my time according to him. GGGGRRRRR!!!!! So we went to bed not talking but he acted like nothing happened this morning. I honestly thought I was going to kill him!!
Sorry guys that was so long but I needed to get it off my chest because I’m still so mad and am feeling like, I don’t even know . I only want 4 hours a week to myself, that is all.
Anyway on a good note I’ve started making Olivia a play mat and am actually enjoying having something to do during the day. Hopefully I won’t be too dodgy as I haven’t sown anything since Year 7 so I could be very interesting.
Well I had better go and do some housework because the housework fairies seem to have lost my address.
Hope everyone had a better weekend and are having a much better day than me,
Luv Dan & Livvy.
yay on the night out kelly! so good to have some time out.
Poor Dan. I know how you feel. Men are just hopeless.
I am still trying to pluck up the courage to go back and see a doc. Dale made me promise I would go today but im gunna make up some excuse.
I will go...but im scared. I got shot down last time and its ruined me. But i do really need to go.
Mason is having good sleeps today...im so glad ive been able to relax :)
oh Dan. Blo8dy men!!! I've lost track of the number of times I've said I just want a Sunday morning off - relax, read the paper, enjoy a leisurely coffee etc. It starts off well - DH gets up for Izzy, gives her her first feed etc. But then he'll put her on her playmat and just leave her. She plays for a while, then gets bored and grumpy. Does DH get her??? No. Course not. He just keeps doing his sudoku or whatever and ignores my comments that she needs a feed! If I want time off from Izzy duties, I have to actually leave the house to get it. And I'd kill to just be able to curl up and read my book, or watch that movie that I want to see. One of DH's suggestions I love best is that I should go and have an hour off and enjoy myself and do the grocery shopping!!!!!!! Wow. How kind. I think however sensitive, understanding and helpful your man can be (and I have to admit, I do have a very good one), they still have absolutely no idea how draining it is to be tied to a baby 24 hours a day. In my previous life I had a very stressful job with long hours - and that was a walk in the park compared to being a mummy so I don't have any sympathy for the "but I work all week and need some time off to myself too" comments. I hope your DH sees that he's being pretty unreasonable and you need a break - of course, you may need to hit him over the head with a baseball bat to make him see the light!
Danni - so sorry you're struggling. If you're not comfortable going to a GP, is there a womens' health centre attached to the hospital where you had Mason? If not, I'm sure there will be one somewhere - you would hopefully find far more understanding and compassionate people there to go and talk to. Good luck.
LMAO Lulu re the grocery shopping comment. Men just do not get it, do they?
LMAO with your time off grocery shopping. Men!!!!!! I don't know what I would have said to that. Thanks for the giggle.
They definitely don't get it!!!!! DH whinges cos he has to do something on his day off, and I say to him well at least you get a day off!!! I haven't had a day off in nearly 5 months!!!! And as for the grocery shopping, we all know thats a chore, not something we enjoy doing!!
Well that's my whinge for the day!! :D
Danni – You poor thing in the bath that early... how did you go with the phone call to the sleep school?
Tan – Yay on the great night sleep!!! Are you still going to call the sleep woman?
Kelly – Wow, you had a great night out!! Congratulations!! I'm still yet to brave it!! How are the renos going?
Lulu – Wow on her first tooth!! That is so exciting!!!
Ash – Far out he's a little clever one isn't he??! First tooth, sitting unaided for 10 MINUTES!! Amazing!! And looks like he's not far off crawling either!! Clever!
Anie – Yay on making the finals, I hope you win the artwork!!
Sarah – Big hugs sweetie, come back and play soon! :(
Hello to everyone else I may have missed!! I'm so bad with personals these days! Naughty me!
Well, we have our first word - DADA! (what else?!) She started saying it a couple of days ago, but she's always been very vocal when she wants to be so I didn't really think much of it. But for the last few days she's been saying it to get our attention (not that she has any idea what it means of course) and she will say it back to us when we say it to her... so CUTE! I have a video of it here - YouTube - Mia trying to talk (not the best example as she was distracted by the television in the background!) where she's doing it a bit - she makes me laugh so much!!
She's also started to sit unaided for up to 30 seconds at a time (not nearly as long as Ash's 10 minute wonder!) but she's getting there. Video is here - YouTube - Mia sitting unaided from last week when she started doing it. It's funny - she has no desire to roll or anywhere close to rolling, but she loves when I sit her up! Strange chicken!!
Hope everyone is well!!
xx
OMG Kristen that is the most adorable thing ever!!!!! Al would be soooo rapt if that was her first word and at only 5 months too - what a clever gorgeous chicky!!!!

Hello!
I was just wondering if I could join your thread?? Mackenzie was born right at the beginning of June .. but was due in May. Hope this is ok...
Jen
Kristen - Mia is sooooo gorgeous!!! At least with saying dada she can call to him in the middle of the night and not to you!!! :)
Jen - welcome to you and Mackenzie!! What a beautiful name :)
 Lee - that hilarious - I love it ! Now off to teach Iz to say it too....... ;)
Jen - Welome to our group!! This is great lots of new May mummies!! If you are in Melbourne we are having a May Mummies meet upand it would be lovely to meet you!! Will let you know the details when I remember them myself - going to search Kristens posts now!!
First off, Dan - reading your vent was like re-living the past 5months!! Ahh. I couldn't even believe how spot on it is to Me and Liam. He is EXACTLY the same, trust me. First it was the x-box, but he has now bought a PS3, so he is ALWAYS on that. Grrr. And theres no point asking him to watch Khai, because if i ask for a little 'Me' time, he says "What am i supposed to do?" ARGH! Selfish bastard. And if he does watch Khai while i have a rest, it doesn't happen because he just puts Khai on the floor for "Tummy Time" or sits him in his bouncer in front of the TV. And if he starts squeeling because he is bored, he just puts him in his cot, which is right next to our room. Haha, sorry that that just turned into my vent!
Jen - Hey :) Hopefully we get to chat more soon. I don't get to come online as often as id like, but i try! Mackenzie is gorgeous!!
Kristen - Wow! Mia seems so advanced! :) Khai's not upto that stage yet, he looooves standing, but theres no way he can balance himself to sit alone yet. He just falls forward!
Sorry for the quick one..he's woken!! Ahh.
Welcome Jen. Nice to have more new mummies like Tan said.
Selfish post from me this morning. I'm sooooooooooooooooooo tired and starting to struggle coping. Izzy is truly amazing, but this morning she woke up at 5am and I just knew she was going to be awake for the day from then. So my day started with her bawling when I tried to put her back to bed after a feed, and me bawling because I was just too tired to deal with it. She eventually went back to bed after a couple of hours of play so I went back to bed, and burst into tears as soon as my head hit the pillow. Fortunately DH picked up that I was pretty upset and rundown (wonder what gave it away!?!) so he let me sleep until 11am. It was great to get a bit of a rest, but its not going to pay the mortgage if he's looking after Izzy rather than working. I'm really starting to worry how I'm going to cope with Izzy as we both get bigger - how will I cope carrying a heavier baby up and down stairs 10 times a day when I can't see the floor anymore? How will I have those beautiful cuddles on my lap when my lap disappears? How do I put her down in her cot when she's been asleep in my arms if I can't get my huge belly over the side rail of the cot? Sorry to whinge guys - its just all getting to me at the moment.
On the positive side my little girl has obviously decided sitting up on her own is just far too boring to even bother with - she is holding onto things and standing on her own instead!! She hasn't managed to pull herself up yet - has to get stood on her feet but then she grabs hold of something and she's on her own. Time to start toddler proofing the house!!
