Hi everyone!
My operation went really well and the lump was removed successfully! However, I have developed mastitis because I wasn't able to express for 2 days after the procedure. The pain is just aweful but getting better now I am expressing every 2 hours to get rid of the excess milk. I think my AF is comming back (had some pains in tummy) due to the fluctuation in my milk supply demands, so DH and I might be able to TTC #3 sooner than expected!
After I have recovered - I'm giving myself another week - I am going to launch myself into some hard exercise and a strict diet. I really need to shift some of my weight, most of it came from DD#1 (I put on 30 kilos) but I am feeling a new motivation I havent felt in years to finally do something perminently - I am such a yo yo dieter its terrible.
Danni - Did you get any bargins while shopping? I always feel good when I get something on special :) Althought it usually something I had no intention of buying! I love having a snooze with Kenzie on the couch too! Espicially in the mornings after a long night (she gets up 3 - 5 times nightly)
Lee - I am demand BFing Kenzie and have introduced solids (just 1-2 teaspoons of rices cereal at lunch time) over the past week. I have found her 2pm feed isnt as long as normal. I probably wouldn't decrease his formula untill hes having 3 good meals a day (more than just rice cereal). I used to work in a baby nursery and I have seen that the parents who dont decrease the amount of milk a child has when they increase the solids, sometimes become quite heavy and rise about their usual percentile. However I am definatly not an expert in the matter and would ask your MCHN. Mackenzie is just on 6 kilos and is about 4 days younger than Ethyn, she is on the 25th percentile for weight - althought I dont think she looks anything but healthy so sometimes the graphs I think make you worry unnecessarily, every person is different - that being said if she drops under this percentile I'll prolly take her to the paeditrition for a check up. I just saw your little one os still in 000 and 0000 .. well Kenzie is in 00 (very long child) definatly not in 000 anymore, its all very confsing isnt it!
Ashlee - Happy 6 Month Birthday to Blake!!
Dan - Really hope you had a fantastic night out for your 2nd wedding anniversary! My MIL came down to baby sit while I was in hospital and I was suprised not to find my baby packed in her suitcase when she went home iykwim!!
Megs - Nice to meet you and looking forward to getting to know you and your little bubba! I'm glad that the daylight savings didnt affect you too much! I actually forgot to change the clock so it didnt affect us at all LOL!
Kelly- I know what you mean about crazy house messes! My house is a pig sty since having my op ... but there is always tomorrow! I am glad that Luke loved his solids! It does make it easier to start it if its a positive experience, Kenzie will like it one day then spit it out the next, we just take it day by day. I think Luke needs to have a quiet word to my Mackenzie when it comes to sleeping! We are still up 3 - 5 times a night .. Fun!
Lulu- Did you find your happy contented happy Izzy? Its aweful when they are grumpy and you don't know what wrong and nothing soothes them :( Perhaps she is teething??
Tan - OMG about the glass incident, Izzy is a very lucky girl, I have Kenzie in her rocker in the kitchen (off to the side tho) all the time while im stacking dishes etcetc. Maybe I should put her on the other side of the bench from now on. When Kenzie was 4 weeks old she was in the rocker and it has an attachment bar with toys on it, i thought it was screwed in .. but I picked it up by the bar and walked it into the other room, it fell off and Kenzie fell to the floor, lucky I was only carrying it about 10 cm from the floor so it didnt drop far, she didnt even cry, but I rang the doctors and they said to bring her straight up for tests. I freaked out, but everything was ok in the end and I will never ever do that again. Well thats my rocker horror story :) Hope you had fun getting your hair done, you'll have to post a piccy!
Jan - Happy 6 Month Birthday for Julian and for saying Da da and Mumma! I can't wait for Kenzie to start saying Da and Ma but I think its a long way away for our little one. My advice to you would be to buy a stick whizzer. It purrees food and meat in just minutes and then you can store it in little containers. My DD#1 loved pureed savoury mince and potatoes so I used to make a massive batch and freeze it. You sound so happy and really enjoying Julian's 6th month!
Aniejade - QLD heat can be unbearable ... can u get one of thse blow up pools??
Tara - Nice to meet you!Baby Leo sounds like he is absolutley thriving!! I really hear you about the sleep thing, my little one wakes 3 - 5 times a night and then sometimes thinks playtime is 3am!
Alex - Nice to meet you! What sort of dogs are you breeding??? Congrats on the boob job - I am thinking of having the same thing but the other direction - I want a reduction.
Firstbub - I'm glad Ella christening went well! I havent organised Kenzies yet, I''m thinking we might do it over the christmas holidays.
Sally- My little one is almost 5 months and she is almost sitting up (I reckon give her 2 weeks), she is babbling alot but no recogniseable words, she absolulety does not sleep though the night, she loves to laugh and grabs everything in sight! Lately she has been also pinching me alot and I tell No but she laughs .. a bit cute how can I stay mad!
Sarah - I am doing the same thing with my baby re:the skill development on the floor. She is rolling from tummy to back but not the other way. I have found that putting toys just out of her reach and *helping* her to reach them is fun and she always loves time in her play gym. She is just so cute I can't help but pick her up and cuddle all the time!
Phew! *hugs* to all the bubs from Mackenzie too!
:heartbeat:

Hi everyone. Will pop back later for personals but just a quick question for those already feeding solids. We started this morning - very amusing but not very productive. Izzy would swallow anything that actually got into her mouth without gagging or anything but she spent most of her time blowing razzberries (lovely with rice cereal going everywhere!!) or pursing her lips together really firmly so it was next to impossible to get anything in. Any advice on how to get her to open her mouth - obviously I don't want to force her - or is this just all part of the fun of starting solids??
-
Hi everyone,
Lulu - Livvy was clamping her mouth too so I gave her a spoon to play with and them I slipped food in around that spoon and now she opens her mouth as soon as she sees us getting her food ready. Isn't it just gorgeous watching them 'eat'. I'm still amazed at far they can spread such a small little amount of food. Have you found good Izzy again? I nearly wet myself with your PMT comment. I often find myself thinking about it too. How are you feeling? Little Ned treating you well?
Danni - Wishing you the best of luck at sleep school. I've got everything crossed that you finally get some answers and help. Can't wait to hear how you go.
Jen - So glad to hear that your op went well and you are on the road to recovery. Great news that you and DH will be TTC#3 sooner than you thought. I can't wait to TTC #2 and give Livvy a sibling. May isn't going to come soon enough.
Sarah - It's so great to hear from you again. Hoping that you are doing well and are loving floor time with Noah. Don't blame yourself for Noah's apparaent little skills. All babies do everything in their own time when they are ready and want to do it. Before you know it Noah will be running around the house with you hot on his tail. How's your website going?
Firstbub - Fantastic news that Ella's christening went well. You'll have to pop a photo in your gallery so we can all see how gorgoues she looked.
Tara - Sorry Leo isn't sleeping for you. Fingers crossed he starts giving you big blocks of sleep soon.
Tan - We sure didn't break any beds here. Livvy can be a little spoil sport some times LOL!! How did your visit to the IL go?
Welcome to all the new mums and bubs who have joined our fantastic group. Really looking foward to sharing the journey of raising our little ones together.
I know I've missed heaps of personals and I"m really sorry. I'm suffering from a terrible head cold and feel like my head is going to explode so I promise to catch up again soon and properly with my personals. I'm bloody hopeless some days.
Friday night dinner was lovely even though DH missed Livvy so much he shovelled his dessert and basically ran back to the car. It was cute but also a little dissapointing as I was looking forward to getting some much needed one on one time. Doesn't matter I'm sure we'll get some time together sooner or later. And Livvy made sure that shaving my legs was a wasted effort. She was an absolute angel for our friends who looked after her for us but paid us back big time when we got home. Little munchin!
I'm feeling like crap (on our wedding anniversary :() so I'm off to catch up on some sleep before Livvy wakes up and so I can hopefully spend some time with Dave tonight reliving our gorgeous wedding over the gorgeous dinner I have planned and hopefully will be able to cook.
Chat soon ladies,
-
Sorry - still selfish posting!!
I've just gone and bought Izzy a walker. I was totally against them but she's been getting so frustrated at not being able to get around at all - she lies on her playgym for all of about 5 minutes before she cracks it these days. She can sit up on her own but if she gets over excited playintg with a toy she topples over, so I have to sit with her. No problem most of the time but hard when I'm trying to do dinner, washing bottles etc. So the walker has a little play shelf thing on it with toys and things - she just loves it.
Dan - have a lovely anniversary dinner tonight. I hope you and DH can have a nice romantic evening together. I've joked in the past to my DH about "Izzy Interruptus". Seems you have Livvy Interruptus. Hopfully she'll give her mummy and daddy a night to themselves!
-
Lulu - after you mentioned the walker I was at Toys R Us today and Target and Ive never looked at them before but some of them look great!!! Heehee! I think my sister wants to buy her one that looks like a car :cryinglaugh: As for the solids, my Izzy really doesnt eat that much and she makes this face that literally looks like Im feeding her dirt - then opens her mouth wide and kind of gags then smiles! It really is the funniest thing! I keep trying til she shuts her mouth firmly and turns her head away a few times. I figure its all a learning experience- she swallows about 3/4 teaspoon all up right now and most of that is by default I think!! I wouldnt stress too much -they will eventually get the hang of it and I figure its all experience right now with texture and the spoon and I want it to be enjoyable for her and me! I wouldnt force her - if shes hungry and wants it great if not - leave it til next time! I really think that if they want it and they are ready they will eat it! Ive never heard of a bub that refused to ever eat solids!! (Although I know a cheeky monkey that refuses anything but booby ;)
How has her sleeping been hun? Is good Izzy back? How is the ms? Ned behaving I hope!
Dan - Happy Anniversary hun - isnt it funny that DH wanted to race home! I hope you are feeling better  How is the going back to work thing going? Hve you made any decisions? I know I said it before but some of that advice you got in the other thread was fantastic and Im borrowing it all!
Jen - Im glad your op went well but sorry to hear about your mastitis hun  I hope you have a speedy recovery. I know what you mean about dieting - although I was telling my sister I find it hard as I have never been on a diet in my life - I always keep eating as normal but up my exercise but the time has come for me as well to do something. I carry izzy in her bouncer too but now Im going to stop -the handles seem sturdy but a few times Ive wondered just how strong they are - especially as she is getting so big now! Izzy is in 00 too now! They grow so fast dont they!
Sarah - hey hun - how is Noah going!!??? What a big boy hey! How is the business going!? Have you had many orders?? Hope you had fun at the races - your pics on FB are great too BTW!!
Brendansmum - You are more than welcome to join our group anytime!! Izzy is 5 1/2 months and she is almost sitting up unassisted - she tends to lean too far forward and face plants or goes a bit sideways - if she has a ledge or toy to lean on off the side she kind of holds herself there! She is rolling from tummy to back a bit but is too lazy to go from back to tummy - although she does go sideways! She also sticks her butt up in the air and gets on her knees when shes on her tummy and wriggles to reach out and grab toys! She grabs everything in her reach and puts it in her mouth and has found her feet a few weeks ago and they are also always in her mouth! I cant put socks on her alot of the time - she ends up pulling them off and sucking on them eeewwww!!
She will stand on our laps quite a bit and LOVEs jumping up and down when we hold her! I guess thats about it!
Firstbub- it is hard to keep up with personals - dont worry to much about it!! Hope your bubby is going well!
Alex - great to hear from you again hun! WOW at the boob job! Good on you! Id love to get a lift - but I think I would be too chicken!! Especially now after breastfeeding - I always loved my 12C's but these soft milky 14 E's are here to stay for a while I think!! Sounds like Jack is going great guns! yay for vegies and cereal and one feed a night! I wish my one feed a night baby would come back but I think she has gone forever!!
Megs - daylight saving has been a bit odd here - our weekend was all over the place anyway so I dont hink it made much difference really!
:hello: to everyone else!
Well we have been good - Izzy is still having cereal once a day - some days are better than others!! I figure i will just keep it up and go to twie a day in a few days until 6 mths then will introduce her veg! Im still persisting with the d@mn bottle - she drinks the milk but chews the teat - nice one.
Shes still waking 2 times a night usually around 1 and then 5 - so 4 hourly feeds at night which is weird. Im not sure when I can try to settle her without feeding at the 1am feed. SHe has a full feed so obviously needs it. Ive been keeping her up for 2-21/2 horus during the day and its working BRILLIANTLY!! She is self settling agan - whoo hoo! She must have been too wide awake after only 1 1/2 hours awake so Im letting her go longer and its working alot better.
She thought 5am was time to get up for the day yesterday - I nearly died and thought it might be a pattern here to stay - but today I fed her at 5 and she slept til 830! Go figure.
She is grabbing at everything and puts it in her mouth which is fun and has started screeching again - great fun!
Is anyone going to get a playpen - my MIL wants to get us one - Im not sure?? What do you all think??
Right Im off to finish her ladybug painting!

Thanks for the feedback, i'm relieved that he's not falling behind. I was getting a bit worried because, he's not really doing much! He can't sit or crawl, has no intention of crawling, but is trying to sit. He can roll stomach to back, but not back to stomach. He's only just been able to stand when we hold him. He's not saying any words but he is making lots of noise! He growls, and goos and gaas, he can blow raspberries, but only with his bottom lip sucked in. That's about it. He has 5-6 feeds a day taking 200-250ml, goes to bed at about 8:30 (9:30 DLS) and wakes around 6-7 (7-8 DLS), he's been sleeping through from about 4-5months (2 months corrected age). He's pretty much always asleep. He sleeps about 2-3 hrs between each feed.
I will be definately popping in every now and again! It's nice to know what he should be doing. Thanks
Sally.

Hi mums and bubs!!!
Dan - how was your anniversary dinner last night? And I hope your head cold has eased up for you :)
Lulu - how old is Izzy? I have read that if they keep their lips closed they aren't quite ready and maybe give it another go in a couple of days. I haven't taught Ethyn to do raspberries, I'm sure he will find a way of spitting his food out when we start!!!
Megs - Welcome to you and little Jack, what a wonderful mother's day present for you!!!
Aniejade - the weather gets that hot here as well, it's nice at the moment!!
Tara - How are you feeling? Don't know what advice I can give you, but you are not alone :)
Alex - Yay for the boob job!!!! I went the other way about 6 years ago, best thing I ever did!! Although if I don't get off my butt they will end up how they started!!! Glad Toby is going well
Firstbub - I am looking at starting solids in the next couple of weeks, Ethyn is 5 months old today!! Glad you had a great day for Ella's christening.
Jen - glad your op went well, how is your recovery going? It is confusing about clothing sizes, my friends baby who is 2 weeks older than Ethyn in in 00 close to 0 clothing!! Ethyn rarely rolls from tummy to back, he started doing it from back to tummy first, and would rather lie on his tummy than on his back!
Sally - Ethyn is rolling all over the place, and has now learnt to roll the other side!! He is grabbing at everything and wants to put it in his mouth!! He isn't sitting yet, he wants to, I blame myself for this, I have only just started to help him by sitting him between my legs so he has got something soft to fall back on!!!! He is still babbling at the moment.
Tan - we thought about a playpen, but I have been reading somewhere else about people that have bought them and they seem to have a short lifespan as bubs seem to get bored with them. I love the way our babys change what they do!! You think you have them sussed, but then it goes straight out the window!!
Well today Ethyn is 5 months old!!!! Can't believe how fast it has gone. Today I am trying to wean him off the dummy!! The dummy was banned from the lounge room, which went well, and left it for sleep time only, but now he has decided to cry for it in the middle of the night, it has only been a week of doing this. The other night he had me up 4 times, I know this isn't a lot, but it could get worse. I am also starting to think is this his sign to me that he wants something else, like to start solids. I really have no idea. We have had lots of tears today, from me and him!! I am worried about hubby and the cries, as he can't really handle it.
Ok must go, baby is screaming :(
Hope mums and bubs are well :)

Hi Everyone!
Just a quick one to say hello and that we are still here!! Have been out every day the last week so today is a home day to clean and do washing! My best friend had her first bubba last Friday, was so exciting!! Amazing how grown up Angus looks now! She had a little girl (well big girl) 9lb, called Piper!! She is so cute - potential girlfriend for Angus!! Anyway, she had a c section cause of failed induction for pre-eclampsia. I just can't stay away, love the whole newborn phase!! I am loving the new things Angus does every day now though. He blows raspberries all the time, at the same time covering his shirt in spit!! He loves his solids, has rice cereal, apples, pears, watermelon. Also loves pumpkin, sweet potato. Althoug I have to say his number 2's are disgusting now!!! Yuck, they are sooo smelly he can clear a room. I miss just the plain old breastmilk poos!!! He is still having about 6 BF's a day. Last night he slept through for the second time ever!!! Was so nice, but I think the only reason he slepy through was he rolled onto his tummy, and slept on his tummy all night. I feel bad cause of the whole sids thing but how do you stop them once they can roll?? Does anyone elses bubbas sleep on their belly?? We do have an angelcare apnoea monitor in his cot though. Anyway, I better clean up a bit, amazing how the house gets so dirty when you havent even been home!! The girls want to go trick or treating tonight so better round up some costumes also!
Have a nice day evryone!!
*Michelle*
-
Michelle, If Angus can roll onto his tummy and hold his head up whilst there, he is fine to sleep on his tummy :) I was worried when Blake started to do this too, but he will be fine and you have your monitor as back up anyway.
-
Thanx Ash, thats what I thought. I can't stop him anyway!! He is asleep now, on his tummy, cheeky monkey!! He just gets cranky when he wakes up cause he is stuck!! He can only roll from back to tummy, not back the other way!! Hey how are the MCN's going?? I have been building up a stash myself, but I only use them during the day. I like the pockets or AIO so I dont have to worry about covers. I am waiting for 2 wildchild nappies, cant wait they are such funky designs! What do you use?? *Michelle*
-
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :D
Lulu - can't help with solids, Jack's a little piggy and has scoffed them from the first time he was offered a spoon. It can take time for them to get used to though, just keep persisting :) We've got a Bounce Bounce Baby activity centre/walker thingy, it's my saviour!! So good for when they start to crack it because they can't do what they want to do!
Tan - re playpen, I don't think we'll be getting one (at this stage) although I want to get an el cheapo to protect our Christmas tree and pressies in a month or so
Happy 5 months Ethyn! Hope he settles down for you soon Lee
Mictam - are you a MCN user? We're exclusive MCN-ers :)
Very scary, we now officially have a commando crawler :o My poor carpet will never be the same again! Jack is a refluxer and despite our lounge room floor being covered in towels he manages to drag and roll himself to the any tiny little spot not covered with a towel, looks up, smiles, then chucks  Also very relieved as DH has started to relax a LOT more around Jack, their bond is really growing and DH doesn't get as frustrated when he cries anymore, but mostly it's a delight to see them playing together and interacting, they're both going to be trouble as Jack gets older
Hope everyone's well!!
-
Hi ladies all your babies are so beautiful. I am due on the 22nd of may 2008 and thought i would drop into your thread and look at what my baby is going to look like this time next year. Hope that you don't mind its so exciting this is my last baby and i want to cherish every experience even ms if thats possible.
I have one questions was it hard having a winter baby?
Both my boys are summer babies so this is going to be a culture shock!
Was it hard getting up at night when it was cold?
Thanks for your help Nikki
-
Nikki- Congratulations on your pregnancy! Im in Melbourne and although it was cold at night I always had a really warm blanket sitting on the couch so I just used that to snuggle up with bubby and was never freezing. We kept her room at about 16 and kept the ducted heating overnight for the first month, but not over the coldest part of winter. HtH!!
-
Michelle-I'm using Happy Heiny's pockets, I'm happy with them! They fit Blake well, and I love the look of them, and with enough boosting they last overnight and keep Blake feeling dry. I've just ordered a SwaddleBees pocket in the limited edtion blue martini, it's to DIE for! I'm going to have to check out WhildChild, I've heard great things about them!!! I only have 8 nappies so far (a nap nap is in there but I'm not really a fan, it's a fitted and I agree, covers are a hassle. Hopefully by Christmas I'll have enough to do them full time with washing only every 2 days.
-
Just a quick one but YAY ASH on going to MCNs!!! WOOOHOOO!
Are you using the HH one-sized or sized pockets? I love my HH one-sized, but the new Hautes have taken over as my fav at the moment again!
Hello to everyone else - I will try and pop in later to do personals!
-
Kristen, I just have the sized ones, the large should take him up to TT, but I am just about to order somed Hautes, they look GREAT! Did you get yours from darlings downunder?
-
Hey ladies - quick on here!
We got into sleep school - yay! 23rd November and wouldn't you know it - the last 2 days and nights, we have self-settled for all our sleeps and have only woken once a night  So typical.
We have a busy weekend coming up which Im looking forward to!
MCN girls - Im so jealous - Kristen I spent about 1 hour at the Darlingsdownunder stall at the expo with my girlfriend! It was so good to touch and see all the nappies IRL! I would change over but mum had my nieces TT by 12 mths and reakons she will have Izzy trained by then too (magician I know) so Im not sure I will get my moneys worth if I change over now.
Ash - Kristen works for DDU!! Heehee! So Im guessing the answer is yes! ;)
-
**** of course she does, god I'm a twat lol
