Campbell's baptism is going to be in July. They only do them 2nd Sunday of month and that's the first one we are free on! Hope the day went well Star.
We gave Campbell a rusk today to naw on but no real solids yet. He just had a suck on it and then tossed it aside!
Campbell moves around heaps in his cot, if he ever wakes during the night it is because he has jammed himself up against the bottom corner and is uncomfortable. He also spins round and round on his playmat and is trying desperately to roll from back to front but can't quite get there!

marknjo - hmmm thanks for the reminder! i think we had that prob with Miss B, in christenings only being done every 2nd sunday - i better check that!
We have the back to front happening no worries here, but still can't get front to back!
And when Miss Emily has a teething rusks she pretty much eats the whole thing?! im wondering if she might be teething?????

Hello Ladies!! Sorry it's been a while..
Hi Picketty!! Congratulations on your little one and welcome to the group :)
Everything has been going so great here with bub's. Hit the 4 month mark today!! Had his needles this morning. Was a bit blown away with his weight.. 10kgs!!! Couldn't believe it! Doc says I have steroid milk :lol: It also makes me a bit scared to start him on solids so not in any rush in that department. He doesn't seem to be wanting more either.
Definate teething here too.. His gums are up then down then up.. Dribbles and chews on EVERYTHING!! Bibs are now permanently part of his wardrobe.
Almost rolling from back to belly, gets to his side but can't quite get over. He loves his jolly jumper too.. a very active bubba.
Sleeps have been going very well. Has 3 naps during the day (morning lunch and arvo) Goes to bed between 6-6.30 (his choice) and wakes when DP does around 5. Sometimes will wake for a night feed.
Picketty I took KP to the pool last week, He wasn't quite sure at first but after a while he loved it!! Was awesome..
We will be christening as well, just not sure when.

Hi ladies, nice to catch up on what everyone is doing!
eza, 10kgs! You must have some good stuff in your milk! Miss P was weighed yesterday and she weighed... 5.6kg! Aaaahhh... and I was so proud! She is only a little dot but she has a nice covering of chub on her and I think she is just going to be little like DD1 who is 8 and has just hit 20kgs.
Not a whole lot of rolling here, Miss P can get to front to back but... well, she's kinda like velcro and I don't put her down all that often so she doesn't get much rolling practice! She is very strong though and passed all her four month checks with flying colours.
Need to make an appointment for her 4 month immunisations but not looking forward to it. She was fine last time, i just don't like it when she cries!
BF is going well, we are still about 60% BF and 40% FF which is a huge success for us. Miss P quite often refuses the bottle from me and has a definite preference for the breast. I feel kinda bad that I don't have enough milk to solely BF as she loves it so much, but I feel good that I'm doing the best I can. She is a booby monster and tries to dig into my top when she wants a feed. She has developed the cutest habit of burying her head in my chest then throwing out a cheeky smile to people who are talking to her. I love it when she snuggles into me. The top of her little head was made for kissing!
Lots of dribbling but no signs of teeth. Not starting solids yet, Miss P is not interested and I don't think she's ready yet.
Is everyone else getting giggles yet? Because I'm not!!! I get massive smiles and a 'huh..' but no giggle! Lots of other noises and blowing raspberries (with an accompanying litre of spit) is her current favourite trick! I seem to remember that DD1 was born with a broken Giggle Button and it was about 6 months before she mastered a proper giggle.

Awww how cute!! KP gets shy around new people and tries to hide away if they talk to him!! lol..
We get loads of giggles.. But I act so stupidly with him :lol: certain noises (when you make a popping sounds with lips like donkey out of shrek!) he cracks up at. He is also very ticklish!! Im sure Miss P will find her "giggle button" lol soon

Lovely to hear updates from you all!
Christening went really well. DS was a dream- lots of smiles - I think he loved being centre of attention! Had a great lunch at home afterwards, and couldn't have asked for a better day. Was a lot of organisation, though and would have loved people to stay for longer, just so I could sit down and enjoy it a bit!
DS is a big giggler- you can't help but laugh back, which makes him giggle more. I'm sure Miss P will get her fair share once she starts up! As for rolling, we can do one side here, but no full rolls yet. Thank goodness. I remember it being a shocking time with DD as she couldn't roll from tummy to back and would get stuck and cry every time we tried to put her down for a sleep.
DS is big on sharing the grins with all and sundry - I don't think he will be a shy boy. If he's anything like his sister, he'll be all for the limelight! Not like me, I was such a shy kid for ages.
Anyway, DS is awake and crying!

KP rolled from tummy to back this morning!! :D I didn't get to see it tho :(
I put him on his tummy with his toys and then went to make some toast. He was chatting away then all of a sudden when quiet. When I looked he was on his back so it must of shocked him a little :lol:
I doubt that he knows what went on or how he even did it. But exciting nonetheless..

Hi girls!
We're thinking about a naming ceremony, and did have August nutted out for a date, but SIL has rudely decided to have a baby due then! All my family are booked to be up here though, so we might go ahead and do it anyway.
Nell is rolling both directions. When I put her on a doona on the floor of her bedroom she just rolls backward and forward for ages, thinking it's great fun. Something about that dooona makes it easier to roll, I think.
Anyway, everything's going well here. We gave up co-sleeping at 13 weeks, I think, to find that our little girl sleeps much much better without us. She now sleeps from 7-3am, then 3:30ish til 6am, which is pretty good, and a few times she's gone right through til 5:30 or so. Right now we're working on extending the day time sleeps to more than one sleep cycle. The hammock is great for that, because I can just sneak in and start shuushing and bouncing her, and she's back asleep within 2 minutes. Also, now that it's cooling down, I can keep her windows shut, and there's not as much distracting noise.
Loving cloth nappies too! They're great. We went to Melbourne for 5 days last weekend, and had given thought to just going the sposie route, but we stuck to our guns, and took our fluffies. It was perfect - we took enough to get us through until Day 3, and washed that morning.
Next we're getting ready for the big Easter road trip - 16 days around central Queensland! An adventure all right!

wow sounds like all bubs are doing well and growing oh so fast!
Miss Em is now rolling both ways, and gets right up on her knees and slides forward! it's now a case of once we put her down in one spot and turn our backs she will have moved by the time we get back to her! Love it! DD1 can not wait until Miss Em is on the move!
Not sure if i mentioned but we have started solids here! which is all going well!
Audax - wow thats going to be a big adventure all right! can't wait to hear all about it! and Cloth is great isn't it!!!!
eza - have you seen KP roll yet?
star - glad all went well with the christening! and how cute DS is giggling! we get heaps of smiles and the odd giggle or 2 but it's just not happening yet! i can not wait tho!
nickle - excellent job on the bfing!!!! well done! i have almost stopped! :( still do the occassional feeds but no as often!

Hello ladies
Well still no rolling from here, despite me rolling him over and back a lot to try and get him used to the sensation. He is starting to bring his legs up a little bit, but only when I take his nappy off. We too are using cloth nappies and they are quite bulky and I think they restrict his legs a bit. We had our first giggle a couple of days ago, and yesterday he started a screeching noise, so he's been practising that all day today.
I am so envious of all of you whose bubs are sleeping through, or at least sleeping halfway through. DS's sleep has been quite unsettled for the last few weeks and to be honest I'm a bit over it. We've got relatives staying at the moment though so when they have gone we will make more of an effort to get him to sleep longer.
I'm still managing to breastfeed, although he gets one bottle of formula in the evening when my boobs are empty, and I've started taking one with me for when we go out and about because he gets so distracted if anyone is talking, but I know that is not very good for my milk supply so I try not to do it too often. I would really like to continue to BF when he starts solids so hopefully it will all go ok. I bought some baby rice the other day at the m-i-law's suggestion, but in the end I just couldn't give it to him so it is sitting in the cupboard.
Audax - you are doing so well to attempt a trip like that. Even an hour in the car seems like a long trip to me nowadays with the wee bub. He doesn't sleep in the car so it always ends up in a meltdown after a while. We took him to the beach today, but it was a bit windy and the sand was blowing all over him which he didn't like very much. I had a great time in the surf though, playing on the body board and letting my hair down for a bit. It made me realise how important time to myself is, so once a week I am going to leave DS with DH for a few hours and do something for myself, not just food shopping and running errands, but time to myself, like at the gym or at the beach while the weather is still good or whatever.

Picketty - time to yourself is such a good idea! and good on you for making that decision to do so! make sure you do do it! it will make you a much more happier mum (not that your not already a happy mum ifykwim) i wish i would do it! i have days when god knows i need it but i really just cant find the time, with the 2 girsl, DH working, Uni and study, and than when there is time i get really guilty for even thinking of being bymyself when i should be with the girls and DH! just can't win! LOL
Good work on the still breastfeeding also! that is awesome! As for the sleep - if its any constilation - by DD1 is now 2.5yrs old and is still a horrible sleeper!!! she has always been up a few times a night and is still up a few times a night! nots saying that DS will be like that, just letting you know that while DD2 is a fantastic sleeper and sleeps from 1900-0600 im still getting up with the other one! :)

Just popping in, it's been a bit quiet. We are going pretty good here. Still only rolling from tummy to back. I think he is too lazy to roll over to his tummy. I'm trying to coach him, he'll get there eventually. He sits up fairly well.
Still breastfeeding, haven't started solids yet but not far off it. Do bub's put on alot of weight when starting solids?? I'm scared that KP will, he already weighs 10kg's and it kills me! I have no idea where to start tho, do I start with Breakfast or dinner first?? How much?? How long after a feed?? Might have to do a bit of reading..
I think making time for yourself is a great idea also!! even if it's for an hour or so. I usually leave KP with poppy whilst I go do shopping, it's only once every week or 2 weeks but it makes a difference. DP works alot so he only see's KP for a little each morning before he leaves, and on sundays. even then he is 'too tired' to do much so I get a little exhausted.
It pings me off because I know that he doesn't have to work the hours that he does.. He needs to start thinking about us more. He gets cranky when I hassle him about it so I don't bother saying anything anymore.. He doesn't understand why it gets to me.. pfft.. men!!

We're 2 days off from this road trip, and a couple of our destinations ar under water! But we're going, regardless. Lots of stuff packed, just the food shop to do tomorrow, then load it all in the car tomorrow night and we head off on Thursday!
We've just emerged from Wonder Week 18, it was really hard going, and Nellie started to wake a bit more in the night, but we got through it and she's back to sleeping 7-6 with a 1am feed. The result of the wonder week is that she's all switched on, and has an eagle eye for reaching out and grasping things. She loves to nab a singlet out of the washing basket and start chewing on it, and the other night she rolled herself to the coffee table, reached out for her Dad's jumper that was hanging off it, and dragged it down on top of herself. Very clever!
We're still exclusively breastfeeding. DH's specialist was so insistent that our baby have nothing but BM for the first 6 months, and I'm really glad we can stick to it.
I just got in from my first night out since Nell was born. Went for late coffee with some girlfriends. Was great. I rode my bike too, for the first time since 34 weeks preg, so about 6 months. That was the best part. I might do that more often after Noodle goes to bed.

Any other bubs crawling yet? Miss Emily is up on all fours and takes about 2-3 crawls than slides forward and than back up and doing it again! the other day i put her in the lounge room and she made her way across the hall to me in the study!
eza - Miss Emily is on solids now (not full time) just 1-2 meals a day! and she hasn't stacked on the weight, but than she is up and about so maybe that is why???? not too sure! we started with breaky because i thought if it was going to upset her tummy than she would have all day to get over it instead of having a upset tummy during the night! and i always feed her bottle (formula or EBM) first than her meal.
Audax - how cute is Nellie grabing the singlet and sucking on it! i don't think we had a rough time going thru wonder week 18 - although Miss Em has been waking once during the night again - so maybe that is her going through it do you think? when is the next wonder week?
bet you loved getting out with the girls!!! so so wanna do that but just don't have the time! also your road trip has inspired us and we are going on our first family holiday in may!! i am so looking forward to it!

Surely you can't be a thread killer in a baby buddies group, ha, ha!
No one has written for almost a month!
Nothing much to write here though! All still going smoothly - waking once a night for quick feed and back to bed or not waking at all. He has actually rolled a couple of times both ways but is less than interested in repeating it, LOL! So nowhere near crawls, hj! I need to stop my comparing of my kids - DD was starting to commando crawl about nowish, but we have not much interest in movement from DS! We will start solids with him at the end of the month, too.
Only major annoyance is my parents are overseas for 6 weeks - no child help and no company from them - I'm missing them like crazy. Funny when you realise your mum is your best friend after all! DH's parents leave next week for their trip too, so we really will be all alone! The good news is we have booked a holiday to Sydney - took ages to find an apartment with two bedrooms for a reasonable price somewhere near the city, but we did get one! Looking forward to that, although we're only there three days!

We're good. Sitting up now, and getting ready to start on solids. Yahoooo! Waking twice in the night currently, but we're back to co-sleeping so I don't really notice.
Our holiday was great! Baby ate about a kilo of dirt, swam at the beach, bathed in caravan park laundry troughs, had a goanna try to eat her toys, and made lots of friends everywhere she went - she's super smiley.
We've had a few pink cheek moments, accompanied by jaw grinding and a boatload of dribble, so I think chompers are on their way. Boooooo. I can't get enough of the gummy smile!
