People shouldn't comment on weight on any scale either really chubby or tiny its just rude....you wouldn't walk up to an adult and go "omg you are so tiny are you eating?" or "maybe you're eating too much your huge!"

Well actually they do ;) I've been copping it all my life and my mum was accused of underfeeding me when I was a baby. I'm one of those naturally runty body types and I'm beginning to think Ruby will be the same.

Hi Leigh and Boo Boo!

Ruby is a funny little thing. She keeps putting her hands in her mouth when I'm trying to feed her. Damn she makes a mess and then she cries when the food is finished and if I go get a couple more spoonfuls she won't eat it :rolleyes: I can see she is going to be a bit of work ROFL.

She slept through for me last night but her brother didn't. He was awake twice :( The night before I had them taking turns at crying for me.

Skye when we were at the drs yesterday for Becca she said shes fine to have cooled boiled water (shes ff). And I agree with Kate....it helps with poos too. That and a bit of brown sugar. I am poo obsessed! Hope she settling for you. I find that Rebecca will have a few feeds in sucession at the end of the night. Our arvo/night routine is something like this...430pmish bottle, 530ish solids. 7pmish bottle, 930bottle. The first 3 bottles are usually almost gone so roughly about 240mls and sometimes the last one is just a top up. I remember with Olivia I had so many probs with her sleeping. I was given a tip to put more potato in her dinner to fill her....it kind of worked!!!

Kate Bellas a clever girl sitting like that. Am so happy to hear that her head is improving. It will more so now she can sit. enjoy relaxing on the couch.

Sam- good to hear from you. Where have you been? I bet its busy with 4! Isnt it a bugger when one sleeps and someone else is up!

Rebecca is much better today. She still had a temp early this morning, but shes back to her normal self, giggling, talking smiling, rolling. Its terrible when they are sick and all they want to do is be cuddled and sleep ( I suppose sometimes it nice to have that but not with being sick).

I give Lara cooled boiled water as well. I have given it to her since birth. Although now the weather is cooler I must admit she isnt having as much as she was when the weather is warmer.

Kate - Good news on Bella's head, be your relieved.

Melissa - Friends of ours had a baby 2 wks ago and I saw her for the first time the other day. She was tiny but bigger than what Lara was at 2wks. It is so hard to imagine Lara being so small again. You forget quickly.

Katiegirl - Welcome!! I've snuck into this thread - Sienna was due on the 21st Nov, but she was an eager lil' beaver and arrived on the 9th (the day I started maternity leave :doh: !!)

Kate - Good to hear that Belle shouldn't require a helmet. She's a clever girl, sitting up like that!! Sienna can sit for a while but then she kinda slips to the side. She's getting better tho, she looks like such a big girl sitting on her own playing with toys!! How?s work going?

Jovi - Welcome back!! Good to hear things are going well (apart from the 'dropping' drama - glad there were no injuries there!!)

Skye ? Sorry to hear you?re having a tough time with sleeping. Sienna was a terror for quite awhile! She?s slowly getting better but she?s never slept thru the night, and I don?t have my hopes up that she?ll be doing so anytime soon!! So rest assured (no pun intended!!) that there are plenty of us who can relate to you, so feel free to vent anytime!!! :hug:

Hi to everyone else ? sorry for no personals, I?m trying to type this between phone calls at work!

Sienna has been going really well ? we?ve finally cut out the 4am feed ? woo hoo!! She?s not sleeping thru the night, I still have to get up a few times to re-swaddle her or shove the dummy back in, but I don?t mind, I?m just glad not to be doing the feed!!
I?m going to have to get her some kind of activity centre like an ?Around We Go? coz she?s getting frustrated on the floor ? she can crawl backwards, but then gets frustrated when she gets wedged under furniture, which is understandable I guess, lol! I wouldn?t be surprised if she starts crawling forward soon, she?s up on her hands and knees alot of the time. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for an activity centre?
Anyways, better get back to work ? take care all!! Good to see some action in here!!

Hey all, hope everyone is doing well. We have had an interesting week. Rebecca has been having runny poos and is off her food. I think teeth are on their way. Shes rolling around and moving backwards still. Shes sitting for longer periods but still falls to the side. Her day sleeps have been crap and shes only been sleeping an hour at the most and it crabby at night. Doesnt seem to matter what I do she wont go down for a nap.

Other than that all is good.

Melissa - Bella is getting her top teeth also and she has been fussy at nap time too! But she will evertually drift off with a bit of "twinkle twinklw little star!" I hope Rebecca sleeps get better!

Bella has been a bit off her food and a bit fussy of late also and I think her top teeth are on their way - but all in all she is still her happy self.
She loves to sit now and will sit for hrs at a time just playing with her toys! I still put a pillow behind her as when she has had enough she flops back and then wil have a lay for a bit. She is getting such a big girl I cant believe it!

I started her on S26 gold step 2 (she was on S26 step 1)but she basically refused to drink it! So I rang my MCHN and she said that its fine to stay on step 1 till they go on cows milk so thats what Im going to do! She is eating 2 meals a day - of either fruit or veggies - she prob eats a table spoon worth of food at a time but she seems to be getting the hang of it very well.

Back at work 2 days a week - well only 6 hrs for 2 days and I find I enjoy it but I just cant wait to get back home and see my Bella girl!! The money comes in handy also.

Thats about it from me - I love being a mum and I am just so in Love with Bella - I enjoy it so much that I think I would be ready for number 2! But am going to wait to be preg next year and then have bub in 2011 so we can get the new paid maternity leave.. that will make it about 2 yrs between bubs so thats ok I think.

Hi, I am new to belly belly and have found this group!!

My beautiful baby girl, Brooke Sienna, was born on the 17th of November at 4.23pm via C/Sect. She was 8 pound 5 (3.790kg) and 48cm, my little pocket rocket!! She is fully breast fed, even after two rounds of mastitis!! Am finding it very hard to believe she is 7 months old already, where did my baby go? She is a really little person now!

Has slept through the night since she was 2 weeks old which was the greatest gift she could ever have given me :D She is the sparkle in my life!

Hi Zoo & Brooke, welcome to our group. My bub Lara was born on the 26th of Oct (but was actually due on the 15th Nov thats why I have snuck into this group & coz most of the ladies in here were in my due date group). I agree the 7 months has gone way too quick. Where abouts in North Qld do you live? I am in Cairns.

Kate - Im glad Bella is getting the hang of solids, Lara is starting to enjoy them much more too. I have her on 2 solid feeds a day plus 3- 4 bottles.

Melissa - Lara is moving backwards too & always seems to get stuck under the couch :wall: plus she gets up onto all fours all the time & rocks back & forth so I think crawling will be around the corner. Hope Rebecca's day sleeps get better soon!

Gotta go, I am typing one handed with Lara on my lap so sorry if its a bit hard to understand.

Well ladies im back at work 3 days a week but still feeding and expressing anywho got into a fight with a dad in the parents room who wouldn't let me go behind the curtain with two chairs because he wife was in there by herself BF (why he wasn't in there i dont know) so when i sat down to express in the big parents room he told me that what i was doign was very innapropiate..after a few cross words and a woman sticking up for me he then proceeded to tell me that if my baby is over 6months and im back at work then he should be on formula and that im just doing it to be selfish grrrrrrgrrrrgrrrrrrr

Also really struggling with my depression atm hence why not so active atm but am still BF'ing and doing cloth so i am patting myself on the back and soldiering on

What a horrible horrible man!!! For starters, men shouldn't be in a mothers room!! And to suggest that the baby should be on formula, what a dumbass! That makes me mad!

Hi Smoz - Good to hear from you. God what a moran that man was. How dare he say all that to you. You're doing a great job being back at work plus expressing/breast feeding and using cloth. Well done.

Smoz and Sam - coz you girls are using cloth I'd like some advice, I am planning on starting to use cloth with Lara. Any advice on what is good and whats not? I've been lurking in the cloth forums. Lara is a bit of a chubby bub so not sure if everything will suit her. I know its all trial and error. I've got some Itti Bitti D'lish, Cushie Tushies and a Bum G coming my way to try. Can't wait til they arrive.

Leigh it really is hit and miss depends on bubs weight and length and legs etc....my favourite all rounder is Bits for Bots...BumG are good but very bulky on my little man. post in the general cloth discussion just giving a breif run down on Lara size and build and see what the others recomend as my preferance are for my skinny minny with tiny legs

Smoz that man should go #!??#@! ...If my dh is in the parents room he doesnt go anywhere near the breast feeding booths he respects peoples privacy.

Becca slept two times today and most of last night. Shes doing well on her solids so last week must have been a bug or something.

Zoo - welcome! Bella was born Dec 8th so Im not "supposed" to be in this group but she was due 30th Novemeber so I have stayed!! Welcome!

Leigh - Good on you for going cloth - I would do it in a heart beat but we just cant afford them at the moment - have a huge stash of disposables that we bought so Ill have to use them for a while longer!

I am returning to work in 8 weeks and am excited and anxious!! I love my job (NICU nurse) and spent 3 years studying to get my degree to be what I have always wanted to be, a nurse. So, I am finding it really really dificult to keep biting my tongue when people, who mean no harm... i hope, say things like 'its a shame you have to go back' or offer their experiences 'i saw every milestone of my children and know that it is me that raised them'. That one really hurts :cry: I am returning to part time shift work, which to me, is much better for Brooke. My mum will be looking after her Tues and Thurs and I will pull a night shift on the weekends so my DH will be able to mind her while I have quick cat nap after as B will be sleeping while I am working. I'm not going back solely for the money, we do have a mortgage as does everyone, but I am looking forward to just being me, and not just B's mummy, although that is my greatest job :D

I am going to continue breast feeding as I am an asthmatic, plus, my mum will be having her so I am comfortable with that. I have her day care spot ready for next year when she is over 1 at the same school I went to, so I am also happy with that decision. Sorry this is so long but it feels much better to write it knowing that I am a good mum even though I am excited at going back to work to look after other peoples sick, little bubbies.
