Afternoon all,
Tammara, Dylan must have known you wrote about him not sleeping and decided to give it a go. I hope he keeps it up for you. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I saw some of your pictures from your trip, looks like you had a ball.
Eng, I hope yu don't have to wait to long to get Ireni into the new daycare.
Danni, Breast milk is like a natural wonder drug, so good for so much. I know how you feel with having so much milk, that is me all the time. I am a milk producing machine. I am always full and leaking and because Macey sleeps so long at night, I have to get up and express nearly 100ml before I feed her so that they are not so full and stop hurting.
AFM, Macey has had a growth spurt. I was looking at her this morning and she just looked bigger, she is chubbing up a bit too. I love chubby babies. We are all healthy again. My girls were so good for me on Tuesday when I was feeling crap.
Like Eng, I am having Day care issues. Amelia's teacher left at the end of November and Amelia loved her. She has never really taken to the new teacher because she is very quiet and does not really nurture the babies, it is like she is just there to watch them. Then this morning I drop her off and find out that another teacher that is a float for all the rooms is leaving now too and this is another teacher Amelia loves. I also think that Amelia is unhappy because last year she was the youngest in her class but now all the bigger kids have moved into the next room and she is one of the oldest in her room and there are only little babies in with her. I know this will only be till May when she will move up and join them, but I hate seeing her upset when we get there. Gosh I hope it is just a phase for her.

Sorry I have been missing ladies I cant seem to find enough hours in the day lately.
I need to catch up so sorry no personals
Flynn is doing well and we r trying a new formula just to see how he goes (fingers crossed it works but if not we can go back to the old formula). He's growing well for a premmie I can tell he is wearing oooo and ooo and getting a double chin and knee wrinkles so it all looks good from here. We're supposed to have a pead appt on the 31st but I can go so I will have to ring on Monday to change it. Health centre on the 3rd though. He might have been born in Nov but he technically wasn't due til Jan so it really makes him only a month old not nearly 3 months old
AFM I am doing ok struggling with sleep even when Flynn sleeps. PND meds going ok but I am wondering if I need to increase as I have not been coping as well as I had been.
-
Hey girls
I'm not getting the notifications so was thinking it was all quiet in here.
Will catch up on personals later when my stinking headache goes away!
AFM- Leo is doing really well, he's in 000 now and looking porky lol. Still have colic and wind issues some nights which is tiring but hopefully won't last too long.
I had an allergic reaction to a preservative on Aus day and broke out in hives. I still have the hives and they are driving me nuts!
Going back to uni on the 7th and I'm pretty worried about how I'm going to handle full time study with Leo being so little. Let's hope I manage to stay sane...

Hello Ladies hope you are all having a nice weekend!
I have just rearranged Isabelles clothes as last night realised she is nearly grown out of 000's so have organised her 00's so they can be easily be accessed now. So far I have not had to buy any clothes for her other than a swim suit for xmas (poor kid thats all we got her as we did not need anything)

Hi Ladies!
Hope everyone is doing well, everyone's babies seem to be thriving! Well done ladies :)
Eng & Blessed - I hope that the Daycare issues sort themselves out for you, it is always hard when the kids have a favourite teacher but from what I have heard it is quite a high turn over job because the pay is not wonderful :( they definitely deserve better pay considering the responsibilities placed upon them.
Ella - WOW you will be a busy mummy indeed! I think like everything you will do wonderfully! But do try and stay sane by making sure you get some time-out occasionally :)
Kat - great news on Flynn, I had Aidan on Karicare Gold+ but it made him blocked up and he also got bad wind pain. I asked my GP and he said all Formula's have to meet STRINGENT Australian standards so are all pretty much all the same. The gold ones "claim" to have extra benefits but they are mostly just extra iron and some have fish oil but the effects on the baby are not proven so they cannot guarantee that it is beneficial. I found Aidan has thrived on Heinz Nurture - Starter 1. No wind pain, normal nappies, very settled. I would give that one a go :) Heidi - were you having Formula issues too? If so, did you sort it out?

OMG it is so hot at the moment - we have two air con running one in our room and one in the back room every room has a fan on and even put the pedastal fan on in the back room. I am going to dig out the evaporative one as well today as it is supposed to be hotter. Yesterday the back room still reached 31. I ended up putting a face cloth on Isabelle's belly which dampened the singlet and she cooled down.
I hung a load of washing up yesterday and it was nearly dry by the time I had finished.
Blonde I was concerned about her poos being to firm on Nan Pro which I bought whilst on holidays as there was no Nan HA - but I was reading a book last night and it said formulae babies poo is often the consistancy of playdough which is what it was. She is back on the Nan HA though and poos are nice and loose and now look like spinach and mustard seeds instead of green softserve ice cream. She is very good at drinking boiled water and if she is fussing between feeds I offer her some and it gets the poos moving along!
Went to mothers group yesterday and realised that we are so lucky to have such an 'easy baby' she is so happy and content and just cries to let us know when she is tired, hungry or nappy changes. She is sleeping well over night now as well - has about 100ml at 10pm and then sleeps till 7-8am. We are using MCN at home so once I added a booster to the night nappy she is sleeping an extra hour or two from before which is great for me :)

Ahhhh, stupid computer, just lost my post. I will have to come back later but will just say.....
I hear you Heidi, I HATE HATE HATE this hot weather. ANd the thought of it staying like this all week, YUCK!

Hi ladies..
Hope you are all keeping well..
Well yesterday was the last af cycle I had before falling pregnant with Mr P.. and guess what.. I got af on the same date!! Seriously!
I think my af changes my flow or the strength cos Mr P has been hungry and unsettled. I bought a formula the other day as I had decided to give him one bottle a day. So we started today, he didnt drink much only 70mls. When he woke up he had a mummy top up and seemed happy and content. Now he is sleeping soundly..
Some haha back at you story.. Remember how my brothers wedding got cancelled? Well she sent the jewelry my parents purchased for her wedding present in the MAIL! gutless...
I rang my brother to let him know and he finally talked! yay! so basically he paid the hotel with a cheque but his clients paid the money into his account a little later so the cheques hadnt cleared. He organised with the events person that he would pay cash as they wouldnt have to wait for another cheque to clear. He was meant to take the cash down on the 2nd of Jan.
The events person rang her after the same day she broke it off with my brother asking where my brother was. hehe Now the princess is upset cos guess who's credit card details they have.. hahahaha
Sorry but when I rang her after she called it all off, I said to her 'thats a lot of money to waste'. Her reply was, 'oh well this is my life we are talking about'.
Then found out she hadnt paid anything and my brother had paid for everything.. well now she will be and yes it is your life. She said to my brother well now they are going to charge me and he goes... You made your bed! Just wondering if she will learn anything this time.
Now we are all worried for my sister and my nieces. My sister is up in Townsville, she wanted to fly down with her kids but my bil wouldnt let them.. I offered to pay and get them home but she didnt want to have a fight with him. Im so @#$# with him. This guy is like a big fat pig dog.
be safe people..
-
Eng- how are your sister and nieces?
-
sounds like your chrisening is very full on Eng. Ours is pretty simple the church service will last about 30 minutes then back to our house for a spit roast for lunch and some drinks. I found the best lady to do a cake and it is going to be so nice and a bargin at $60.
Dylan has settled into a bit of a routine now, his poo is stil going good and he usually sleeps for about 6 hours then wakes for a feed and then sleeps 3-4 hour hours so its not to bad on me.
Two days ago i was watching Dylan playing on his mat and he nearly rolled over, then yesterday mum was here and he actually rolled over. First time he used his mat thing to help but the nexr two times was all him :) so excited i even managed to get the video out and record it :)
Hope everyone in QLD or has family in QLD were not too affected by the cylcone.

Hi all!
Just popping in to see how you are all going. It's nice having a bit of a read over the thread and seeing what is in store for us lol!
Thank you blessedmum for letting everyone here know that little Amelia arrived. We are very excited to finally have her and I was very grateful that the birth wasn't too long (3 hours) as I was kinda nervous but in the end I didn't really have time to think about it lol! She is doing really well and we are settling in nicely at home :)
-
Morning all,
Chody. Good to hear you and Amelia are going great.
Tammara, Yay for Dylan, what a clever boy. Was it from belly to back, or Vice-versa?
Eng, Talk about Kharma kicking your brothers ex in the face. Sounds like she got what she deserved and hopefully learns a lesson. I hope your family are doing okay.
Hi everyone else.
AFM, I have been really sick since Friday night. I got a really bad flu that made my whole body hurt, even brushing my hair hurt. I had a headache for 5 days straight and an extremely inflammed throat. DH has just worked 28days straight because his work mate was on holidays so he could not take time off (unless it was an emergency). All I can say is that I have 2 of the most amazing girls ever. I had bought Amelia 2 play school DVD's for her 2nd birthday but got them out and my beautiful girl was happy to watch them over and over and Macey Moo has settled into a lovely pattern of sleep eat play and has been so great too. I was pretty much laid out on the lounge all day everyday. Makes me realise how lucky I really am. Much better now, just a slight ear ache left over.
Can not wait till Monday's cooler weather.
-
Grrrr I lost my post!!!!!! Here goes again...
Blessedmum - Aw that sounds so bad! I really hope you start to feel better soon you poor thing, especially all this heat so doesn't help! That is lucky you have such good girls... my little gorgeous boy wouldn't let Mummy lay down for anymore than a minute lol.
Chody - Congratulations on the arrival of your baby girl! That's good to hear the labour went well.. How has Amelia been? Isn't being a Mummy the best thing in the world!? We have a wonderful journey ahead!
Tammara - How exciting for you! What a milestone seeing your little one rolling over... Good that you got it on camera. I am soo camera happy with my bub - I photograph like everything he does lol can't help it. Don't want to miss anything for the future.
Ladies...... HELP!!!! This is driving me crazy!!! I really am at a total loss of how to keep Damian entertained and happy every minute that he's awake! He gets upset/ frustrated when he's not keeping busy/ there's things to intruige him. I have a toy bar, the musical thingy on the cot.... I play with him constantly but it does get quite exhausting... so I'm trying to figure new ways to keep him entertained for more than 5 minutes at a time...
Can any of you Mummies share what you do with your bub when they're awake to keep them busy????
-
Hi Ladies - just a quick one from me as I am waiting for my Pie to cook in the Oven and its nearly ready! Yay!
Danni - I got given by my mum a chair that bub can sit in and its at the same height as the couches. Its like a rocker / bouncer and it vibrates and plays music and/or soothing sounds and has a toy bar. She got it from Big W and I think it is called a "by my side rocker" and its from Bright Starts. I absolutely cannot do without it! I think it is a must! Aidan loves sitting in it, and the vibrating is soothing and he likes listening to the music while he is kicking his toys on the bar and best of all it keeps him amused for ages! :)
-
i think i posetd last night but forgot to save it lol
Hope you are feeling better today blessed - Dylan rolled back to belly but was unable to roll back so he was like a lil fishy just stuck there lol
Danni - Dylan had a play mat from Target - io think it is called little world or something with world in it. It is a mat with two sort of arched over the top with things hanging and it has a little world globe up top that lights up and plays music. He LOVES it.
-
Hi Ladies,
I need your help with something. Aidan is going through this stage where it takes him ages to feed. I mean like 40 mins sometimes! He is a lazy drinker, he has a few sucks and then pauses and chews on the teat for a while and then keeps going. He is very easily distracted and is always wanting to look around. I tried to make him wait 4 hours between feeds so perhaps he would be more hungry and feed better but he refuses to wait that long and is really crying hard if I make him wait and then is hard to settle. I have tried sitting in a quiet room with him, doesn't work, I have tried pretty much all tricks in the book. What should I do? Is anyone else going through this?
Do you think I should try a different bottle / teat? I am using AVENT at the moment.
Tammara - WOW Dylan is going so well! I think Aidan is a few weeks off rolling yet - he isn't really keen on tummy time so I have to get him used to that first.
Chody - Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I love the name!
Eng - 2 words for your brothers ex - Sucked in! :D
Were your Relo's safe and sound? I hope so, your BIL sounds like an A**.
Blessed - I hope your are feeling better - I don't cope well with heat either as I am so fair and neither does my Son. We have the Air con on 24/7 at the moment, so I can totally sympathise with you!
-
Blondie- we have the air on full time too lol big bill coming I think.
As for the drinking. Orlando went through that stage as well when he was little. It only lasted about a month but was very annoying when you're trying to get things done. I just pushed on, but I guess I couldn't exactly change the teet on my booby machine lol. I guess trying a different bottle might not help. Just a suggestion though- BF babies suck a little and then pull off when the let down is slow, so to my thinking... is he perhaps not getting enough fast enough? Perhaps you could try the next teet up??? Might help if he got the milk faster.
AFM- Well I haven't written about Leo much lately... He started rolling at 8 weeks and is having full blown conversations with me a few times a day. Today has been a bad day though, all he has done is eat and cry. My boobs hurt again. I think his colic was back because when I gave him some infants friend and let him cry a bit while I sat him up and patted his back, he did a giant burp, threw up and then was really happy for a full hour.
I'm worried about how I will handle going back to uni. I'm tired all the time as it is now so not sure if I will cope with full time uni on top of normal stuff. Guess we will see.
I hope you are all well. I really love having you all here sharing our journeys. Makes me feel much better when I feel like the only tired mum in the world...

Good Morning all,
Danni, I have a play mat and a rocker for Macey that she spends most of awake time in. I do also make sure I put mainly the rocker in different areas of the house. I think not only having the toys to look at all the time but a change in the background can help. Even if she is in a room by herself she is happy. I also sit it infront of the window alot. If it a a bit windy she will look at the trees for ages. And she loves sitting in front of the mirror too. Macey also loves nappy free time so I put her on her mat with a waterproof matt under her and for atleast an hour she is happy. Only now she is never in the same spot for long because she wriggles so much so I just have to keep moving her back. I guess in a way having Amelia running around helps too, Macey loves watching her.
Blondie, I think most babies go through a stage where they get really distracted at feed times and it makes a feed longer. I don't really have any other advice then to agree with Ella and say maybe a faster flow bottle might help.
Tammara. Good job Dylan, Macey is not rolling yet, she loves belly time and gets very close to rolling belly to back. Amelia rolled belly to back first too.
AFM, Feeling a lot better, still have a sore throat though. Today is hopefully the last hot day we are due. 7 days of 39-42 degrees has been horrible. The only good thing is where I live is sort of a valley and still manages to cool down well at night so sleeping has not been an issue. I think Macey likes it though, she has not liked been wrapped since day one so I stopped and just covered her with blankets but she has not needed them all week and has been so content she has not even wanted her dummy.
